Like this is a death threat. That thing is a lethal weapon.
Rui programming robonene to scan for & protect against suspicious people is so cute but also I would love to know what robonene is programmed to do with suspicious ppl. Nene mentions feeling uncomfortable around a strange guest one time and rui’s like hm. Btw can I borrow robonene for maintenance (he is going to give robonene a gun).
#the temptation to abandon the goal of focusing on emu’s character rank so I can get nene to 58 and get this stamp#is very high. honestly might do that. contender for funniest stamp.#nene would have a higher character rank if she didn’t fucking dodge my pulls.#rui 🤝 tsukasa: ‘I’m not even fucking pulling for you right now why are you here’#emu 🤝 nene: dodging my pulls#i will spark for the emunene card in six months if I have to. do not test me nene kusanagi.#not a tsukasa stan. but he and rin are tied for the most 4* cards I have.#fortunately emu is the only character with a lvl 10 decoration. bc I love her <3.

Streamer AU 8
Part 7
Weiss:*concentrating*
Blake:Yooo. Another night, another stream. Where’s she at?
Jaune:Alice in Wonderland. She’s still getting used to the controls.
Blake: Chat should keep count of deaths.
Weiss:Chat, you’ll get timed out. Don’t listen to her.
Blake:Are you at least having fun?
Weiss:Oh definitely! I actually was in a play about Wonderland when I was little. Feels nostalgic.
Sunny Day: “We’re you Tweedle Dee or Dumb?”
Blake:Haha haaaa!
Weiss:Sun stop trying be funny now that Blake is here.
Sunny Day: “I’m always funny.”
Weiss:Wrong.
Ruby:*joins call* How’s our little gamer doing?
Weiss:I wish enemies have health bars.
Ruby:Oh, oh so you don’t know?
Weiss:…What?
Jaune:Remember how you chose a weapon and it affects your stats?
Weiss:Did I cheat myself out of a health bar!?
Ruby:You’ll get it, but you would have it already if you picked the sword. Chat, nobody tell her what level she needs.
Weiss:WHAT!?
xxxxxx
Yang:Sorry I’m late to the-
“DEEP FREEZE!”
Yang watches the Weiss run around enemies blasting blizzard and clearing areas rather proficiently.
Yang:Someone is gaming.
Weiss:Everything changed with this spell.
Yang:I am not surprised.
“Goooo!”
“The spamming begins”
“Literally in her element”
“How she fights in real life”
Jaune:Pfft, Weiss, can you actually shoot ice like this in a fight?
Weiss:Ummm, I don’t see why not.
Ruby:By the end of this game, Weiss is gonna change her entire fight style to be like Sora.
Yang:Honestly that would be a really cool IRL stream! Just a list of abilities that Weiss has to try to do! Weiss! How much money!?
Weiss:*shrugs* I gotta beat the game first.
Ruby:I’m starting a poll in chat.
Blake:For what?
“Who do you think is most worthy of a keyblade?”
Blake:No, don’t do that! I won’t win!
Weiss:This means a lot to you I guess.
Blake:Some people have their dreams of going to Hogwarts; I wanted a keyblade.
Jaune:I wanted to go to Hogwarts.
Lotus Chef: “Just sneak in 👍”
Jaune:Ren!!!!
Yang:Listen, he beat me to it.
Weiss:Ba- *clears throat* Hey how long is every world?
Jaune:Maybe an hour so? Generally speaking.
Weiss:Cool. Maybe we can get two done.
Ruby:Or get stuck on the worst boss in the game.
Weiss:…*looks at Jaune*
Jaune:It’s not the worst boss.
Weiss:*squints*
Jaune:It’s true!!!!
Combat Ready made a prediction poll. Will Weiss beat the boss in 10 or less tries?
Ruby:Oh yeah, betting time! Penny your brain is beautiful!
Weiss:My chat and call are full of enemies.
Sunny Day: “I’m here for you.”
Weiss:Fuck off, Tweedle Dumb.
Blake:Is Neptune Tweedle Dee?
Neptune: *joins call* Neptune has been minding his own business. Sunny Day is acting on his own. *leaves*
Ruby:Leaving your leader like that is crazy work.
Yang:I respect it.
Ruby:Hehe whaaat?
Weiss finally makes it back to the table in the game, spawning Trickmaster.
Weiss:Oh…
Ruby:God, it’s so ugly now. It used to red and black.
Blake:90% voted you’d lose by the way.
Weiss:And just like real life, 10% of people are gonna eat like kings.
xxxxx
5 attempts later, Weiss is staring at the game over screen deeply.
Jaune:…Need a break?
Weiss:I’m just processing.
“You’ll get it in the 11th try”
“Please, I need the points!”
“This is a fucked up boss to have in the beginning.”
“Cheat and use Jaune.”
Weiss:Guys I’m not even mad yet. Also he’s for hints and guiding, not cheating. I beat FFX alone! I can handle this!
Ruby:You’re only level 10, on proud mode. Kinda have to remember that.
Weiss:Yeah…is it cheating if I grind? *hits continue*
Everyone:It’s a JRPG
Weiss:Fair enough. I’ll get a few levels.
Jaune:No more than lvl 14.
Weiss:Oh trust me, I do not plan on being here forever. You guys might have to entertain chat a little bit while I zone out some.
xxxxxxx
Blake:You never did answer who you played as in Wonderland.
Weiss:Cheshire Cat.
Blake:Really!?
Weiss:I was the only one okay with wearing the ears.
Yang:Damn….
Ruby:Are you trying to tell me little kid Weiss was somehow the least racist in her class?
Weiss:Little kid Weiss wasn’t racist.
Cross Hare: “As supposed to grow up Weiss!?”
Weiss:No! I’m not- Velvet we had lunch together today! Look, all I’m going to say is young adolescent Weiss saw a lot of White Fang member incidents and formed opinions…
Blake:That’s fair.
“Sounds suspicious to me.”
Blake:Guys, my parents love Weiss. That might actually be the only approval that matters.
Jaune:Didn’t Weiss amaze all of Menagerie.
Blake:Uuuugghh, why’d you remind meeeeeee.
Weiss:Tell the story.
Blake:Chat? Chat, I love Weiss, but I fucking hate this woman. Historically speaking, she’s a bad cook.
Weiss:“Historically” is insane.
Yang:Blake invited us to Menagerie to meet her parents and take part in what’s essentially an island cookout feast.
Cross Hare: “I REMEMBER THIS DAY!”
Blake:Without telling anyone, Weiss decided she was going to practice cooking this seafood gumbo that’s well known m the island to try and make a good impression.
Ruby:In hindsight, you did invite a Schnee into essentially enemy territory.
Blake:All she had to do was be polite and wave! Instead she asks my own mother if she could use the kitchen and make a traditional cuisine! I was stressed for the first half hour until suddenly…a scent is in the air. Spices. The correct spices. Now there’s an entire community looking around as this petite woman in an apron is swaying to our music and cooking our food.
Yang:I’m going to fucking honest, it’s so easy to forget Weiss is musically trained. Meanwhile Blake has two left feet.
Blake:I could live with that. What I couldn’t live with was when the food- *breathes in mic* When the gumbo was ready, it tasted better than any I ever made. My own mother told me this, and I couldn’t disagree.
Ruby:It was sooooo good!
Blake: Weiss “I had a cake butler” Schnee, showed up to my home island, cooked a dish with my, and danced with my people better than me. She out Faunesed a Faunus and I have sworn I can never let this happen again!!
Weiss:Everyone said bye to me! They were so nice.
Ruby:Weiss I’m letting you know right now if I ever take you back home and I discover you practiced wrangling horses, we are fighting in the dirt.
Yang:You get one time to bake an apple pie for my dad and if it’s better, hands. You don’t see me learning opera.
Weiss:I am an over achiever.
Jaune:Keep in mind, she’s still weak with most dishes.
Weiss:Cooking is hard!
Obtained Ripple Drive
Weiss:Oh, new stuff. *opens menu*
Jaune: *looks*… Weiss? Why isn’t dodge roll equipped?
Weiss:….*covers face*
“Weiss….”
“Girl…..”
“How have you been living?”
“You are throwing!!!!”
Yang:*wheezing* It could be worse. You could’ve beaten the boss first.
Weiss:Alright everyone, back to the boss!
xxxxxx
Attempt number six was practically a joke. She beat the boss in four minutes flat.
Weiss:Are you kidding me!?
Ruby:Shake it off. Now you know to double check. Penny, please pay out the believers.
Ruby:That was half my channel points…
Weiss:YOU BET AGAINST ME!?
Ruby:I hate this boss! I thought it would cause trouble.
Jaune:Imagine if Weiss is better at this game than you?
Ruby:I’d cry.

Gamer girl gets transmigrated into a farm boy Chapter 6 [<<Prologue | <Chapter 5 || Chapter 7>>] Ao3 link
-
Tutorial in Age of Tales goes like this:
The main character is woken up by Janelle, who calls him a sleepy head and tells him to get the cart ready, because her daddy wants to go to town. The game teaches the player how to move, climb, jump, and interact with objects there.
The main character drives the cart to Westbrook in a cutscene and gets a chance to explore the town for a moment before Mr. Gylcross concludes his business. It's implied that it's a rare visit for the main character, and he's still new to town. He's given only enough money to buy a few health items maybe, just enough to learn how to interact with shops.
The main character returns to the farm with Mr. Gylcross and there's a time skip to the next day where, after they're done with their various farm-related duties, Josel approaches the main character and says…
"Hey, Van - there's some rabbits in the field again. Do you think you could take care of them?"
Which then teaches the main character the very basics of combat, specifically long ranged combat, seeing as the beginner weapon for the main character of Age of Tales is a sling. In the game, there's auto aim you can turn on, which helps with long ranged weapons, but they were never a particularly well designed part of the game.
In this sort of real live version of the game…
"How the hell are you supposed to use this damn thing," Van mutters, trying to fit a pebble in the sling and figure out how to spin it in a way that didn't send the rock flying off prematurely.
Unfortunately it's not one of those slingshots with a y-shaped piece of wood and elastic band, no, this is the much older kind with a woven cord and a small pouch in the middle where you put the rock and then spin it around before releasing. Which is, it turns out, pretty tricky to master.
Katie had kind of loved the sling thing, though. It was very historical, she felt. Traditional weapon of commoners. Very cool that they included it in the game. You could even do some real damage with magical ammunition, though it was never as good as just specialising in magic, or even being a ranger. Still, with auto aim it was a cool beginner weapon for ranged combat, and considering that the early fights were all about running away…
It never made much sense for the main character to have it, though, because Van wasn't actually a commoner.
Van tries to spin the sling, and the stone slips out of the nest, landing in front of him with a thud. He grunts, frustrated. "System can't you help me out here? There's the automated chore thing - why isn't this automated? I should know how to do this, right?"
The System opens up his character window, which is not very helpful.
[Farmboy] [Van] [Lvl. 3 Commoner]
[Status:] [Constitution: 10] [Strength: 10] [Dexterity: 1] [Intelligence: 1] [Wisdom: 10] [Charisma: 1] [Luck: 1] [You have 4 unused Stat Points.] [You have 2 unused Skill Point]
"That's not very helpful - wait," Van says and peers at the list of stats. Intelligence is highlighted. "Huh - I need intelligence to figure out how to use a sling? Wait, wait, wait," he pauses, coiling up the sling. "Say I wanted to become a… rogue. I want to sneak around and assassinate my enemies. What would I…?"
The status screen shifts, and it's dexterity that gets highlighted this time. "Huh," Van says again. "Okay, that's actually really good to know." It's nothing he didn't already know - he had played as a rogue before, but still. It's neat that the System is giving him this kind of info. "I didn't need intelligence to use a sling in the game, though. Also, why are chores automated but this isn't? It makes way more sense for me to know how to fight, doesn't it?"
System just highlights intelligence again.
Van really doesn't want to spend any stat points yet, not before he decides what class he's going for - also, who knows what will happen in Westbrook. He might need a sudden burst of charisma to persuade the bad guys not to kill him, or dexterity to avoid being skewered, or any number of things. Intelligence is only good for Wizards, and Katie did not enjoy Wizard build all that much. It was too slow, and the combat didn't quite have the oomph of getting up close and personal with a big sword.
Shaking his head, Van closes the System window and continues working on the sling. He does figure out how to get the stone to stay in the sling, but trying to get it to fly even to the right cardinal direction…
Hm. Maybe he could put one point in intelligence? Just to see what it would do?
… No, he will not be tempted. He'll save the points until he needs them.
At any rate, the rabbits have been dealt with - he might've not hit any of them, but he definitely made enough of a racket to scare them off. Shaking his head, Van puts the sling away, his ammunition pouch five pebbles lighter. Whatever. He's got more important things to figure out right now, anyway.
Like how to make a spear.
-
The tutorial goes on to then try and deepen the main character's relationship with Josel and Janelle - giving the player a chance to eavesdrop on them during a cute moment. Van gets that opportunity too.
While he's doing a little bit of gathering in a copse of trees, figuring out how to get a Wooden Pole as opposed to mere Branches he's been finding, Van happens to spot Josel, picking up flowers out in the meadow just beyond the forest's edge. And then Janelle just so happens to come across Josel, greeting him cheerfully with, "Hey there, Josel - what are you up to?"
"Well, uh, I just, um," Josel stammers, looking between her and the sorry bunch of flowers he's holding. Then he tries to, comically, hide them behind himself, as though they haven't been fully on display already. "It's - it's nothing!"
"Oh?" Janelle asks, instantly mischievous, and skips forward. "It's nothing, is it? What's that behind your back, Josel, what have you got there? Hmm?"
Josel squirms and backs away while she tries to sneak a peek past him and it's very cute until he finally gives up. "It's stupid, I didn't -" he says and then holds the flowers to her. "For you, Miss."
"Oh, for me? Why, thank you, Josel!" Janelle says cheerfully, accepting the flowers with a little bow. "You are most kind, sir. You didn't have to."
"I thought it would - that it would brighten your day," Josel says, flushed bright red all the way down his neck and wringing his hands with embarrassment. "It's nothing, just a bunch of flowers."
"Well, I think it's very sweet," Janelle answers warmly, hugging the flowers and then grinning. "Say, have you ever made a flower crown?"
It's almost unbearably saccharine, the whole thing, but Van can't help but watch, leaning onto a tree trunk and grinning fondly as Janelle gently bullies Josel into learning how to weave flower crowns, before plopping the one she made on Josel's head. The whole thing is so blatantly wholesome that the first time Katie saw the scene, she'd shouted out loud, "Oh, they're definitely going to die!"
Van is half impressed that the developers refrained from including promises about the future and how they'd make flower crowns for each other until the end of their days. Or reminisce about their past as childhood friends, or something. Honestly, Janelle and Josel didn't really have much of a background beyond their roles as cannon fodder for the plot.
Still, it is pretty cute.
Janelle finishes the flower crown Josel can't figure out how to tie properly and puts it on her head, smiling. "There, now we match," she says with satisfaction, making herself comfortable amidst the flowers. "It's been ages since I did something like this."
"You're very good at it," Josel says earnestly.
Janelle laughs, hugging her knees. "Thanks! I used to make wreaths for the Flower Festival, you know - I won the first Prize and everything!" she says and then her smile fades. "We haven't really gone since Momma died. I thought maybe next spring would be different. With you and Van here, Daddy is in much better spirits these days."
"I'm glad we've been able to help," Josel says, adjusting his crown. "If there's anything else I can do to help out, you just let me know."
"Thanks," Janelle says with a chuckle and then looks at him. "Van's not going to stay until the Flower Festival, though, is he? I don't think he's even going to stay over winter."
In the shadows of the trees, Van folds his arms, interested.
"What makes you think that?" Josel asks. "Did he say something?"
"Not really. He's just acting a bit weird, isn't he? Like he's waiting for something," Janelle says and sighs. "I think he's remembering stuff from before."
"He hasn't said anything to me," Josel says, frowning.
"Me neither, but he's all… I don't know," Janelle sighs and looks away. "I just think he's getting ready to leave. It's funny, he's not even been here for that long, but I was kind of hoping he'd stay longer. Daddy's been a lot more active since he appeared, you know? Like with more people around, he has a purpose again."
"Yeah. Mr. Gylcross has seemed more energetic."
"Yeah," Janelle says with a sigh.
Josel looks at her like he's not sure what to do or say. For a moment it looks like he might put an arm around her, before awkwardly refraining. "Well, I'm not going anywhere," the farmhand promises earnestly. "Even if Van leaves, I'll always be here, ready to help you out."
Janelle laughs. "I know I can count on you, Josel," she says and rocks back and forth before rolling up to her feet. "Come on, let's head back - you can help me catch a chicken for dinner."
Van watches them leave, leaning his head against the tree trunk and frowning. He still doesn't feel any particular attachment to these people - it's hard to, really, after Katie had watched them die over and over again in the exact same way. Even the most sympathetic NPCs stop looking like people when you can see their strings being pulled. Even so…
It would be nice if he could save them this time.
Glancing up at the sky, Van tries to gauge how long he has until sundown. Then, shaking his head, he heads back into the forest, to find poles for his spearheads.
He got maybe three hours until the Rift would open and no proper weapon yet.
He really needs to get a move on.
-
And then, the Rift.
In the tutorial, it's not expected of the main character to have a proper weapon when the Rift opens. That's why the farm is littered with low grade farming tools - though they barely had any attack power, they could be used as weapons in a pinch, usually to comedic effect. The whole point of the Rift is to mess up the farm, kill everyone there - except the main character - and send the main character running to town.
Most of that happens in cutscenes, of course. There was no way to stop the Rift from appearing, or close it once it had, and there wasn't meant to be a way to stop the demons coming through, either. You could kill a few of them, maybe, but they kept coming and coming in an endless, steady flood. The whole thing was meant to be a hopeless fight.
Of course, no good set piece survives contact with players, and it took less than a day after Age of Tales launched for people to turn the traumatic Rift event into a mob farm.
For a Gylcross Mob Farm you need at minimum two things, plus a weapon to kill the mobs with. You need one of the carts, parked in a specific location before the Rift opened, and a barrel, set down just a little to the right of it. Because the rift opens right next to the barn, the demons coming through can move only in three directions, and the cart and barrel block two of those, creating a bottleneck. If you do it right, the arrangement cuts down the number of enemies you have to fight to a single one at a time.
And the Rift never stops spewing enemies at you. So, in effect, you can just stand there, for hours, for days, killing imp after imp after imp, just collecting exp. Add to this some better gear and those sweet, sweet Draughts of Memory… and it takes you approximately eight hours and fifty four minutes to boost the player character up to level 100.
Van might not have those potions - but he still intends to take advantage of the Rift's mechanics as much as he can. Without the Draughts it would take literal days to reach the same effect - but right now, he'll settle for ten, twenty levels at least. Just something to get him started properly.
Assuming, of course, that the Rift worked the way it did in the game. If not, well, it still wouldn't hurt to prepare.
"Uh, Van - what are you doing?" Josel asks, watching Van push the cart into place.
"I'm going to clean up the barn. Getting the place set up for the harvest, you know," Van answers, huffing while turning the cart around, aiming to get it just below the window. "Just… getting this… out of the way."
Josel looks at him, at the cart, at the barn, and then scratches at his cheek. "… Okay, you need a hand with that?"
"Sure - grab that barrel in the back, will you?" Van says and then thinks better of it. It wouldn't hurt to over prepare. The game mechanics haven't exactly been on his side so far. "Actually, let's move the other cart first."
In the game once you're done with fighting the Rift, however long you take, the player character escapes in one of the carts that's, mysteriously, ready to go with Bell strapped in and everything. It's very dramatic and convenient, and Katie could even forgive the plothole there - here… here Van doesn't think he can trust the plot holes to be on his side.
Better get the cart in place for easy access.
Josel gives him a weird look at the very precise way Van wants to position the cart once outside, conveniently close to the stables and nowhere near the barricade. The other farmhand says nothing, though, confusedly helping him situate the cart just so that Bell could be easily strapped on in a hurry. Van makes sure all the necessary straps and such go in the cart as well.
The barrels and boxes and other things from inside go to and around the first cart, with Van carefully situating them around to box in the spot where the Rift would be, enclosing the space as much as he can.
By the barn doors, Josel pauses. "Did you make these?" he asks, taking one of the spears Van has lined up against the wall.
The shafts Van had made for them are pretty rough - they're basically just trunks of young oak trees, which had been the only things to register as Wooden Poles to the System. Cleaning them and attaching the spearheads to them had taken some effort, and Van can't say he's particularly confident about his woodcraft skills - but after he'd sharpened the spearheads, the System had approved his craftsmanship by re-designating them as Rough Spear, lvl. 2s, each with 15 Attack power, so Van's satisfied with them. The enemies he's about to face are only lvl. 1, and with his strength stat lvl. 2 weapons would be more than enough to handle them.
"Yeah - just leave them there," Van says, hauling another barrel in place and testing its stability. Yeah, that wouldn't go anywhere. "I'll deal with them."
Josel gives him a rather concerned look but leaves the spear where it is. He goes to pick up the barrel lids sitting in a stack beside the spears instead, but Van tells him to leave them, too.
"I'll need them for something later," Van says, inspecting his Rift barricade, trying to fill in the gaps
"... Okay," Josel says slowly and then shakes his head. "I guess I'll get a broom and start sweeping then…"
Van lets him do it and finishes up his barricade, leaving just the one opening for the imps to get through - the one he'd be covering with a spear. With his mob farm ready, Van brushes his hands together and then heads inside to join Josel in "cleaning".
Another hour or so until sundown, and his preparations are just about ready. Now he just needs to wait.
-
"Van? Van, my boy, are you in here?"
Van, who's sitting on the hayloft just in case he needs to be in a specific position to trigger the Rift, peers down. It's his boss, peeking into the empty barn. "Yes, Mr. Gylcross?"
The farmer looks around the empty barn and then outside at the Rift barricade. "Would you like to explain what's going on here?" he asks, baffled.
Van goes down the ladder. "I just thought of doing a bit of cleaning," he says. "Before the harvest, I mean. I, uh," what would be a good explanation, "I heard some mice or something the other night, and I thought we should close up all the holes before bringing the harvest in. I'll put everything back tomorrow, I promise." Nailed it.
"Mice, hmm? I see," the farmer says, anxiously twiddling with his moustache. "And the - the spears?" he asks worriedly. "What's that about?"
Van looks at the spears and the various barrel and pot lids he'd gathered to serve as shields. "Uh," he says. "A new hobby?"
The farmer looks at him, looking very concerned indeed. "My boy, is everything alright?"
"Yeah, everything's fine," Van assures him. "I'm just trying new things, that's all."
"I know about your visit to the tailor - Ms. Arbury sought me out," Mr. Gylcross says slowly. "As I understand you ordered something quite expensive, and she was a tad concerned. Where did you get all that silver from, Van?"
"Uh," Van says. Well that explains how and why Mr. Gylcross knew about the gambeson. "From the inn?"
"Van, surely you didn't just… take it?" Mr. Gylcross says, anxious.
"No, no, nothing like it - I gambled," Van says quickly. "And taught a gambler a trick about how to play Echo better - she paid fifty silver for it."
Mr. Gylcross doesn't look quite convinced, eyeing him with grave concern before turning to look at the spears again. "And - and then spears?" he asks. "What do you need spears and a gambeson for?"
Having no better explanation to give, Van tells him what he told Janelle. "It just… feels like I need them?" he says awkwardly. Hooray for amnesia as a convenient excuse for weird behaviour. "I can't really explain. It's just a… feeling."
That doesn't seem to quite soothe the farmer's mind, though his look of worry turns into something more serious. "You know you can always come to me if you have concerns, right?" the man says earnestly. "If you remember something, if you have issues. I know waking up here the way you did was quite traumatic."
"Um, yeah," Van says, awkward. "Thank you, Mr, Gylcross. I'm grateful that you, um, took me in," he adds, which feels like something the character would say, had this conversation been in the game.
"You looked quite rough, when Janelle found you - like you'd been in a fight," Mr. Gylcross says sadly, shaking his head. "Have you remembered what happened?"
No, though Van knows about it from the game. The player character had been hit over the head with a hammer while trying to escape assassins. Very creative of the developers. "No, I haven't. Sorry, Mr. Gylcross."
"That's quite alright," the farmer says and looks at the spears. "I didn't really expect you to remember much, not after all this time - though it looks like something's getting through anyway," he mutters, considering the weapons. "I'm not sure I'm comfortable with having weapons on my homestead, Van."
"Oh. Um. I'll put them away tomorrow, then," Van offers. If Mr. Gylcross still objected to their presence by the morning, he'd be pretty surprised. "You won't have to deal with them, I promise."
"… Very well," Mr. Gylcross says and then gives him a look. "You'll still stay for the harvest, though, won't you? I planted a lot more than I would've without you here - we'll need all the hands we can get, to get the fields harvested in time."
"I won't go anywhere just yet, Mr. Gylcross," Van assures the man, and smiles. "I'll see my job here to the end."
"Good, good," Mr. Gylcross says and clears his throat, looking at the makeshift barricade before peering up at the sky. "Well, at least it doesn't look like it will rain tonight… I suppose it's fine, this once," he then says, moving to leave. "And you'll put the spears away?"
"I will," Van says - as soon as they wouldn't have any more use, he would. "Have a good night, Mr. Gylcross."
"You too, my boy - sleep well."
Van smiles at the sentiment, nods and then watches as the farmer heads back to the house, making sure the man is inside before going to double check the barricade, just in case. Everything is where he put it, nothing has been moved. Good.
There's maybe another half an hour until the Rift opens.
No one would be sleeping in Gylcross Farm that night.

ʚĭɞ 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐬 [𝐔𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐃𝐚𝐰𝐧 𝐗 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫] {𝐆𝐀𝐌𝐄𝐁𝐎𝐎𝐊}
“Hello…? Can you hear me…? I need you to respond.”
The foreign voice causes you to gasp, lifting your head. Your breathing was shaky and shallow. The air around you felt thick with tension. Braving your nerves, you grit your teeth and grip your seat edges.
“I’m sorry. Can we start over?”
You lift your head to face the faceless woman in front of you. Your hospital gown crinkling as you shift. The woman was thankfully patient, waiting a beat before asking again. “What is your name?”
“My name is (Y,n) (L,n).”

Base:7/10 (Same lvl as Josh)
The chatter grew quieter later into the night. Music from the nearest speaker creating sound waves in the living room. The fireplace cast a warmth that only spread its calming orange throughout the room. Twin sisters, Hannah and Beth Washington, were trying to cleanup after their friends. The party having been calming down as of late. They shared a look as they spotted their elder brother, Josh Washington, face down on the kitchen counter. Beth approached, seeing the empty bottle of Jeremiah Whiskey, the source of her brother’s drunken state.
“Geez, Josh. Once again brother, you’ve out done us all.”
Beth pat his shoulder as Hannah walked beside her. They had the same thought. They would smile with amusement as they then guided their elder brother to a couch. They laid him down right in front of the warm fireplace, comforting the unconscious man. Nearby would be another drunken unconscious friend, Christopher Hartley.
They’d smile at one another before continuing on with their cleaning. Beth wouldn’t notice Hannah’s increasing excitement when the sister noticed a note on her laptop. She was busy dealing with another.
“Beth~! Bethhh.”
You stumbled in through a different room. Pushing aside the wooden doors sloppily, revealing the rest of the partygoers behind. Little did the Washingtons’ know, a devious plan was being set in motion. You’d glance back at your friends with a slightly uncomfortable expression. Your gut was telling you something was amiss, that maybe you should try to stop what was to occur. But you didn’t.
Jessica Riley folded her arms, her blonde pigtails swaying on her shoulders. Next to her was best friend, Emily Davis. But while Jessica was watching you leave with some suspicion, Emily dismissed the idea with a smile as they got back to discussing.
Beth met you halfway, setting down the trash bag she was about to take outside.

She’d quickly grab your arms as you stumbled forward, misjudging the gravity of your own weight. You’d snort, your head hung low in a drunken blur.
“I missed you~” You lazily wrap your arms around her.
Beth would sigh but clearly find this humorous. She guided you to a couch a little away from the others, closer to the window. “Alright, cmon now.” She’d sit you down and watch as you fully sunk into the cushions. “Stay here, I’ll get you some water.”
Just as she was about to walk off, you’d loosely grab her hand.
“Mm… nuh uh. Stay here.” You drunkenly demanded, yanking her down onto the couch. Beth allowed it to happen, smiling with a fake reluctance.
“Here I thought you passed out like thing one and two.” She’d gesture back with her thumb to the sleeping boys. You blew air from your lips, flicking your wrist.
“Nah… was hanging out with the others, but I like you better, you know.”
You smile lazily at her, resting your head on your hand. The nearby firelight gently casting a faint glow to half of your face from afar. Beth’s eyes widen ever so slightly, her expression changing softer so subtly. Her heart having skipped a beat.

what do you think would be a recommended level to start KOTFE if the enemies and boss fights will have a higher difficulty?
I've always been tempted to make a post about the balance between leveling up and good story experience sooo here I am!
An introduction to maintaining a good level while doing the strict minimum to enjoy the story more~ (preferred player edition)
First time I played the game, I did like everything, every planetary story arc, every daily, EVERYTHING (almost). I also one shotted the entire storyline like you, like I finished the class story on one character then did all the expansions. In total, I have nearly 400h on that character, which is quite a lot for only solo content. Then I played the Sith Inquisitor storyline, did the same thing cuz I wanted to see what imp side had to offer but I didn't play the expansions as they're roughly the same throughout the classes. After that I only ever played the mission stories to try to complete legendary status the quickest possible, I managed in one year only.
What's the lowest level you can complete the class story with?
On these characters, I was able to complete their class stories at level 42ish (which is def difficult on Correllia but manageable, depending on the classes, some might need 43). But I never intended to play the expansions with them, so playing the minimum of the minimum is 100% playable for the class stories (except on Quesh where you need to be lvl 33 but it's usually not far stretched). Now, I wanted to replay the JK storyline and the expansions with my beloved Maverik'a to take screenshots and I wanted to do the minimum of the minimum this time (since last time I did like everything) so here's how I did it.
How to gain and maintain XP more easily?
First I recommend you buying character perks, if you're starting out a class story buying the entire class story & exploration tier can help you a lot. Now that you're in the expansions, the Flashpoints one might be a good one to have. Basically you gain more XP with these perks and level up more easily. Level wise, I recommend you being always 5-10 levels higher than you should, every planet has an ideal lvl you should at least be 5 lvl higher. How to do it without it becoming a task? Do, a few side quests here and there, with ALWAYS an XP boost on, and once you've hit a reasonable level continue the story and so on.
What are the lvl recommendations to play the expansions?
SO to finally answer your question, in my opinion, you must be around 60 when you hit Correllia. Like I said previously you can do just fine with as low as 42, but for expansions you're gonna end up having to catch up a lot and it's just more annoying. And I highly recommend being lvl 80, with your armor all upgraded, by chapter 16 of KOTFE since there's a big battle. The game recommends lvl 75 but if you're not geared up well it can be very difficult, specifically the last chapter of KOTET. These two chapters have big boss fights, a friend asked me to help her on the last chapter of KOTET cuz the boss would keep killing her and she was around lvl 75. At 80, I never had a problem defeating that boss, I one shotted it lol.
Honestly from the comment you left me, I assume you're subscribed cuz you level up quick so it shouldn't be as much of a grind as it is for preferred (the status I had when I replayed the entire thing lol). But 60 at Correllia and 80 at the last chapter of KOTFE is still what I'd recommend even subscribed.
RECAP
Lowest level and time to complete a class story without expansions = lvl 42 at Correllia, playtime from 24-34ish hours.
(If you're a class story complitionist, it takes around 60h! More than the double of a minimalistic run!)
Lowest level and time to complete a class story WITH expansions = lvl 60 at Correllia, playtime 135h for the entire swtor storyline (instead of almost 400 when you're a complitionist!)
Thanks to have come to my Ted talk, I hope this helps people 😭😭
#I always considered making a guide on how to get the legendary status the quickest but this will do#basically keep the OCs you wanna do the expansions with and do the strict minimum with the others#in only a year I was able to get it whereas others take YEARS cuz they do the planetary arcs and such#but fun fact planetary arcs are the same for every class of the same side#like if you've already played the rep ones as a JK they'll be the same if you're a smuggler so to me they weren't worth playing#anyways I wish you the best experience playing the expression they're really amazing!#it only gets better from here :)#swtor#star wars the old republic#star wars: the old republic#swtor guide#swtor leveling guide

Ayda Aguefort character sheet!
I went through FHSY transcripts and wrote down every spell she used and figured out what level she was and made a full character sheet for my beautiful wife, Ayda Aguefort.
Actual character sheet and plaintext description below the cut: here's how I figured it out.
Ayda has one (1) 7th level spell slot, and presumably no 8th level spell slots, since she can only cast Teleport once per day. This puts her at either 13th or 14th level, the only difference being that at 14th level, Divination wizards get "Greater Portent", aka an extra Portent roll per long rest. Looking through the transcripts, she never uses more than 2 portent rolls per long rest, so we will assume she is 13th level.
In terms of background, "Sage" makes the most sense. Like, you roll to determine your “specialty” and one of the options is librarian. She’s gotta be a sage. This gives her proficiencies in arcana and history, two languages of choice, and the "Researcher" feat - “When you attempt to learn or recall a piece of lore, if you do not know that information, you often know where and from whom you can obtain it." Extremely in character
Wizards pick 2 proficiencies from Arcana, History, Insight, Investigation, Medicine, and Religion. I picked Investigation & Medicine, since she already gets Arcana and History from "Sage".
Spells are tricky - I included every spell she uses in the series, but wizard spellbooks are weird in that there's kind of no limit to the amount of spells you can know, the limit is just on how many you can prepare. You automatically learn two new spells per level, so I went through and added other spells (in italics) up to the minimum amount of spells she would know, and then made a list of other spells that seem likely for her to know, or that you could switch in if you like. she does fully live in a library so like. who knows what she could know?
Also, there's a spell she uses during the fight aboard the Goldenrod that sounds a lot like Steel Wind Strike, though it isn't 100% confirmed, so I put a question mark next to it. We also don't know what exact spell she was going to use to "flood hell" - I chose Tidal Wave because it seemed most likely, but it could also be a spell of her own invention.
Final product below the cut!
the reason these don't have image IDs is bc I'm putting the IDs after the images bc there's so much text. also sorry the resolution's shit i don't know why that happened it looks fine on my computer. also i don't know how passive wisdom works im sorry its probably just her normal wisdom (11)??

“She looks kind of harpy-esque until you realize that she does have arms in addition to wings. So she has these incredibly, and as they spread, deep red wings that as they approach the tips of the feathers sort of change into orange, and by the time they get to yellow, flicker in a little edge of flame on the outside of the wings. She's dressed in sort of like white linen pants with a pirate's sash on them. No guns or anything you can see. Sort of vest, a lot of sort of orange runes tattooed on her arms, you see that she has a short shock of red hair, it seems to be not on the sides or back as much, almost like a plume of red fiery hair that comes off the top of her head. And her eyes have pupils in them but are otherwise clearly roiling balls of flame.”
“You see that she does have two scrolls at the side on her bandolier, and similarly to the guy downstairs, but sort of like she has it on those leather harnesses you would have for guns, but it's two small books strapped under each arm.”

So, while I was playing Reload (great game 10/10), I was brainstorming about using the android that kills Shadows in P5. So, I came up with an AU where Akechi is an Anti-Shadow weapon. Well he is inspired by one.

Of course, there are fanarts (better than mine) or fics where he is that Anti-Shadow weapon, but I have never really seen anything dwelling into lore that much? I just saw the concept being thrown around or Phantom Thieves just being a part of Shadow Ops (feel free to correct me, I haven't been everywhere in Persona fandom ehsjskks) So here's my take, which contains spoilers for Persona 5 (obvs) and some angsty themes:
Spoilers obvs!!!!!!!!
-Wakaba killed Akechi during one of Metaverse's experiments (oops),
-she felt so guilty about it that she secretly retrieved his consciousness from there,
-using plans for an Anti-Shadow weapon
by the Kirijo Group that she somehow got hold of (maybe she stole it, maybe she just got it idc), she rebuilt him as an android and put his consciousness there (although it exists with the programming, because she wasn't that knowledgeable about robotics - she was a cognitive psicentist at heart, after all),
-was it a good decision? idk but Wakaba kinda strike me as a scientist who would think that was an excellent idea,
-Akechi disagrees, he hates her for that because now he is forever stuck as a thing that is forced to listen to orders (being forever stuck in one body also doesn't feel right I suppose),
-but they have a neutral and professional relationship that revolves around exploring the Metaverse (Akechi can still use Loki, just like Aigis can use Palladion),
-Conspiracy, learning about this, hacks Akechi-android to use him as a weapon in the Metaverse (so he still is a Black Mask, although everything is done completely without his input),
-Akechi then kills Wakaba, which she anticipated and before that she had given Futaba a copy of her research and Akechi’s plans - although she said to never use them without a really serious reasoning,
-yada, yada, yada we're in original game timeline,
-Akechi as a Detective Prince doesn't exist,
-but he does exist like a obstacle in Palaces/Mementos that hunts down the Thieves,
-let’s just say they would be able to fight him back around the time their lvl in Okumura's Palace,
-Morgana doesn't know wtf Akechi is,
-Joker has some suspicion that Akechi isn't just a machine, but he doesn't really voice it at that point,
-when they are in Futaba's palace, on one of the wall arts (the one where Wakaba works on something and Futaba is begging for her attention) they notice that Wakaba was working on one of Akechi's parts (probably his arm idk),
-so they ask Futaba (post-change of heart) what’s going on, but she has to do research,
-when Futaba joins the team, Akechi always targets her (due to his resent to Wakaba),
-they finally learn what Akechi is and that he is malfunctioning (y'know being a serial killer weapon) due to being hacked, so they decide to help him (bonus point if they can get him on their team),
-so in Okumura palace arc they set on changing the CEO heart and capturing Akechi (who is also there, because he has to get rid of Okumura),
-during the fight in that Palace, Futaba manages to free him from Conspiracy’s control (bonus point if he awakes to Robin Hood),
-when they get him back to Leblanc's attic, Futaba repairs him (because I feel like she would be into robotics just like her mom) and they learn that even if he is on their side now, he doesn't remember who he really was (even first his name, only Akechi).
So, my AU would revolve around Akechi re-learning about his past (he can bond over his amnesia with Morgana) and being as human as possible.

I have a few ideas that I probably will draw (or write, who knows), but that's all for now. Thanks for coming for my ted talk.
Bonus comic - very messy, sorry:

I have seen a bunch of legacy challenges recently and while I love the ideas in them many seen to require packs and/or have an extreme number of things to do that can be overwhelming for newer players. So I made a base game legacy - these do exist already. I believe this should be doable for newer players and anything that might lead to confusion can be easily googled for guidance.
Sims 4 legacy challenge basegame
General Rules
Can enter cas to add tattoos and change sims outfits/hairstyles as they age up
All money must be earned in game no cheats unless cheating away money
Must randomise infant and toddler traits
Can use MC to determine amount/gender of children otherwise no cheating
Any sim who marries into the households money is up for grabs
All children must have either top notch toddler or top notch infant trait
Once parents are elders the heir may take over the legacy or player can wait for them to die
All heir graves/urns must remain on the home lot
At least 3 things must be passed on from generation to generation
Any lifespan allowed I’d recommend normal when children are in play
Can change lifespan at anytime e.g if you’ve completed all goals and are waiting for parents to die etc

Karin hasn't proven much of use in this game thus far, and seems like kind of a dud. But I found use for her!
If you are trying to be on a budget and getting crappy pulls (like me) she was kind of clutch for Sayaka's witch. Her skill and Magia eats away from the break line of the witch and it seems not only she grants herself speed but magic stacks so her Magia comes up every 2 to 3 rotations and the witch was breaking 4 to 5 rotations.

My team. Everyone had Magic at 30 and were 2 or 3 lvl Magia. The box witch memo helps with aqua damage, Charlotte gives attack + 10%.
Since I wasn't using a healer, make sure Sana's barriers remain up! And focus your skill points for Sana and Karin, using some for Ayame defense down and Rika's attack up (her Magia gives mp and speed at level 3)
Just wanted to share since some people might decide to work in Karin since she's currently boosted in the second part of the event she has other uses.
One downfall about this team is that Ayame and Rika don't attack when they use their skill (and I was tempted to switch Ayame out for Felicia to see if I could cheese it and she gives defense down on Magia)

My Earth Genasi makes a return for princes of apocalypse game! I got invited at lvl 8 tho, i've been reading that the 3rd part of the adventure feels disconnected from first two, and i suppose what's why the group decided to start over with new characters
I renamed her to Mika btw! There's her new artwork for the token, AND a quick design for her noble dao patron, Vishanti. Pls don't ask me how she goes thru doors, she can cast Wish and True polymorph, i promise it's not an issue lmao. She's secretly sort of a mom to Mika, indirectly. She had fallen in love with a mortal half elf woman once and had a passionate romance with her for like 10 years, but little by little her lover got fed up with Vishante's bullshit (as a neutral evil and extremely powerful inhuman being she mostly sees those below her, like normal people, as a source of entertainment and resources at best. She doesn't go out of her way to do evil, but she's, undeniably, an asshole) and dumped her. Vishante didn't take it well and is extremely salty about it to this day. Her ex remarried later and had kids with someone else, but, due to her spending so much time on elemental planes and with a genie, all children she had were born as Earth Genasi. i imagine that was quite the talk with her husband. Vishante was spitefully happy about it tho
I can only imagine how ironic it is for unimaginably powerful being to fall in love with a mortal so much and then get dumped by her years later cause you're somehow not good enough. She still doesn't get why that happened. This story is very melodramatic and is full of toxic yuri, i'm. I'm obsessed with them. Mika doesn't know shit about any of it tho
and a silly doodle of Mika that came to me in a vision
#d&d#dungeon and dragons#d&d art#d&d warlock#genasi#earth genasi#my art#i can tell some more about them... if you want

5 Star Collei
It’s me again. Back on my nonsense. Did Amber and Chongyun; let’s go for a third.
Stay with me now. We are abandoning Dendro bow user.

This is pyro catalyst behavior. I’m giving her black flames and we’re utilizing her curse for character growth purposes and creativity. This power is still inside of her; it’s just that if the seal breaks then Collei’s only option is to control it or die, and she’s too precious to die. Her ascension stat is Elemental Mastery
Normal attack, Muscle Memory- Collei can launch five mid ranged consecutive attacks that deal pyro damage with the fifth hit taking the form of a dark serpent that strikes forward. This hit is considered piercing damage.
Charge attack, Lethal Dose- Collei consumes a set amount of conjures the fangs of a dark serpent around an enemy before closing its jaw, dealing pyro damage.
Skill, Mark of the deev- Collei unleashes a wide blast of pyro and enters the Karmic Ember state for a set time on and off field and lasts 16 seconds. The cool down on the skill is 24.
Enemies hit with this attack will receive A Mark of Pyre. Up to 8 enemies can be marked at a time. While in Karmic Ember state, all enemies marked will take Pyro Damage in set intervals every 4 seconds that scales off of Collei’s Elemental Mastery. Enemies can only hold one mark at a time and disappears when Karmic Ember State ends.
Additionally, if a marked enemy has dendro applied to them, a unique Burning Damage, known as Kindling, will take effect. Kindling damage is lasts longer than normal burning, deals greater damage, and shortens the intervals to every 2 seconds between Mark of Pyre. Kindling damage is based off of Collei’s Elemental Mastery.
Elemental Burst, Tamed Malevolence- Conquering her curse, Collei channels the power inside of her and releases the full coiling serpent as an explosive aoe around her that scales with her elemental mastery, dealing pyro damage. This burst’s has two separate effects.
If Collei is not in the Karmic Ember state, the aoe is larger and applies Mark of Pyre to enemies.
If Karmic Ember State is active, the aoe damage is increased. Additionally, all Marks of Pyre detonate for additional damage and Karmic Ember State immediately ends.

It’s too cool not to use okay?
A1 Passive, Past Scars- Collei will slowly consume up to 80% of her own HP when in Karmic Ember state, increasing the damage of Mark of Pyre and Kindling until no more HP is consumed. After using Tamed Malevolence in Karmic Ember state, all marks detonated will restore a set amount of Collei’s HP per mark.
A4 Passive, Future Strength- Collei gains a crit rate buff based on a percentage of her Elemental Mastery. This buff caps at 40%
Utility Passive, Survivalist Guide- Party members gain a pyro and dendro res when afflicted with pyro or hit with bloom/burgeon.
Constellation
Control Group- Collei gains a 5% Pyro dmg buff for every enemy inflicted with Mark of Pyre for 14 seconds.
Searing Memories- Kindling damage can now crit and has a fixed crit damage of 100%
Sterilization-Elemental Skill talent lvl increase
Experimental Variables- For every Dendro unit in the group, the party gets 80 Elemental mastery. For every Pyro unit in the group, the party gains 12% atk.
Results inconclusive- Elemental Burst talent lvl increases
Runaway Miracle-Enemies marked get a 25% defense reduction. Additionally, 70% of Collei’s Elemental Mastery is converted to Atk. The fifth hit and charge attack apply their own separate Mark of Pyre that lasts 10 seconds.
That’s pretty much it. The burning artifact set gets a new owner. Kinich and Emile teams would definitely love her, and she’s not so niche to make her irrelevant outside of burning. There’s a short supply of off field pyros. This play style has a good mix of Collei supporting others around her and being resourceful, while having the ability to take lead the way for others. If you squint hard enough, you might accuse me of making Nilou, but a Burning Character.
I haven’t been doing weapons with these cause it never crossed my mind, but I suppose I should be doing that.
It would be a Tome, holding the information Collei was looking for in the Webtoon and her goodbye letter. Low base attack and Elemental Mastery ascension.
When a reaction is triggered that’s related to the user’s element, a 5% atk buff is given to all characters sharing the elements involved in the reaction. This stacks up to 2 times and lasts 12 seconds. Triggering a reaction will reduce the weapon holder’s cool down on their Elemental skill by 1 second every 2.5 seconds.
Can you tell I’m tired of building Sacrificial Fragments?

Aside from how she handled the Valentino situation, what else makes you hate Charlie?
That's just about it of how much I loathe Charlie Morningstar. She is the absolute worst female lead in animation history.
She's a grown woman who is actually a spineless crybaby, a delusional and inconsiderate friend, being overly positive all the time, and Vivienne Medrano's horrible self insert. Not to mention that she is literally the embodiment of a stereotypical woman who is passive, spineless, unintelligent, and emotionally irrational all because of Vivienne Medrano's massive misogyny towards other women who aren't like her.
EDIT 8/17/2024:
Also there are KIDS WATCHING HAZBIN HOTEL!
If little girls are watching the show, then they will learn from Charlie to act like spineless bratty crybabies who can't help their friends and family or stand up for themselves for the rest of their lives during childhood, adolescence, and adulthood.
I will say this again, Charlie Morningstar is an atrocious role model for kids, teens, and adults. Especially for girls and women because she is the definition of a stereotypical woman who is passive, spineless, unintelligent, and emotionally irrational.
She is the only female character that I loathe in existences.
