Poor baby had a rough first week in his new home (pro tip: cats and moving box debris don't mix well!), but he's already feeling much better after some treatment. Such a brave boy who purred through the whole examination despite feeling under the weather!

PS: His dad @/alex_albon gets extra points for being so attentive and calm during an emergency situation - exactly what we love to see! Always nice when pet parents take such good care of their fur babies 🏆

- Genderqueer cat. Any character based on the Cheshire Cat is genderqueer to me istg. Chenya is no exception.

- I kept most of her design the same but added in some heterochromia for funsies and used those colours for the hair clips and earrings. Xe is also Hispanic, idk it just felt right.

- Totally has ADHD. The impulsive thoughts are obvious with this one and I think that Neige serves as its impulse control. They made like, a pact of sorts (after their Headmage yelled at Chenya for doing something) that Chenya tells Neige whatever the impulsive thought is and Neige either tell Chenya 'No, you can't do that' or 'We can do this instead'.

- Broke asf. I dunno but I feel like Chenya has like the worst habit of impulse buying you've ever seen so they never carry money on they to try and avoid it at Trey and Riddle's recommendation. It's mostly worked as Neige buys anything Chenya needs when they go out anyways.

- Anyways, I was fighting my demons to not make him black and I lost. I dunno, we don't have enough sweet, cute black boys in media and that is a crime.

- I gave him some hairclips with cute lil charms on them and some of those silly little acne patches. Idk if he actually has acne, he totally could, but I think he'd wear them either way to like normalise not be ashamed of it, y'know?

- I gave him some cute little apple earrings which were a gift that Rook gave him after a concert with one of his letters lol. He wears most of the jewelry gifted to him at one point or another but he really likes the apple earrings.

- Has a crush on Vil. Idk how popular of a headcanon that is but as soon as they interacted, I felt like it made sense. I love the one-sided rivalry lmao with Vil hating his ass and he's just like, 'Omg, she's so pretty and cool and smart. Wow, I'm so glad we get to work together so much!' It's really funny ngl.k

- Loves to crochet, knit, and sew. All are kinda skills he picked up while caring for the dwarves but they're his favourite to do. He's made Chenya a few sets of mittens (because for some super mysterious reason, they always go missing) and a quilt at some point.

- Likes anything with apples in it, pies, drinks, you name it. Fall is his favourite season because of apple cider alone (otherwise it'd be spring).

- I kept his design also pretty on model, darken his skin a smidge and textured his hair to match Leona's. Smacked some dimples and birthmarks on as if he wasn't cute enough already.

- The gold eyeliner is like a royal thing, maybe be specific to the crown line or maybe Leona's just too fcking lazy, probably the later.

- He's actually really good at chess. He's played many games with Leona, even though he didn't get it at first, but now he can beat most people who play him (still not Leona lest he really screws up something). Most of his birthdays, he gets a new pretty chess set and he has a little display of them in his room.

Now for his dad! The only character here without a canon design (as far as I know... which I'm upset about).

I woulda also made a design for his wife but I don' think she even has a name?? So maybe in the future.

- I based him more on Leona, trying to make sure that Cheka didn't just get his trait lmao. I think that he got his piercing actually after Leona got his because the palace staff were criticising him for it so Farena went and got one.

- I dunno, he's giving bi wife energy. It helps that the women of Sunset Savannah are buff and cool and I'm so mad we never saw them 😭😭😭 I wanna see Leona's sister-in-law so bad ;^;.

- He's not as much into the intellectual side of things like Leona is, would rather defeat people with strength which is why the two really don't get along super well. Though I think it's only perceived on Leona's side, I don't think Farena realises how much hurt Leona's had throughout his life.

- Angst aside, he doesn't get much in the way of free time what with all his royal duties and such. His favourite activities are spoiling his family and getting used as a weight for his wife's daily exercise!

Fair warning, I haven't encountered any of the last three characters lol.

- I didn't change much here either, just added some red streaks to her hair and matched her palette to Jamil's.

- I don't know if her age is ever implied but I think she'd be younger than him by like a year. She went to a different school with Kalim's cousin (who they're like besties).

- I feel like Najima didn't get the same set of exceptions set on her growing up and so her relationship with the Al-Asims, while still not necessarily healthy, was nowhere near as damaging. I think that while Jamil definitely envies that, he'd rather die than make her go through the same thing as him.

- She loves her son very much and was super excited when she saw his new piercings. Also, super accepting when he came out, obvi and thinks that while Ace is a bit of a rascal, they do click together.

- I had so much fun with her horns. I made them more branchy and I think a full grown dragon (well, like an old one) would basically have a web of antlers. I added some purple to the tips for the 🌸aesthetic🌸.

- Also added some wave to her hair. Malleus looked in her spitting image so I figured I'd give Levan's genes a chance lmao. They're also super tall, probably even taller than Mal herself and especially with the horns.

- I think she'd have left some things that Malleus ended up growing up with not realising they were from her, like a hair clasp, some assorted jewelry, a couple toys and items that Lilia gave him when he was old enough. Pieces of her for him to grow up with, y'know?

🐱Jing Yuan x Stelle 🐱Once Just a Creation, Now Forever a Friend

Their cries continued to echo throughout the space station.

Ruan Mei, Ruan Mei, why did you abandon us?

Time and again, it would drive Stelle insane. It wasn’t simply due to the constant, loud noise; she had almost no way of silencing the creatures. Lying to them only got her so far. Some were all too eager and hopeful to believe her half-truths, others were far too deep into despair to even listen to a word that she had to say.

Stelle visited them when she could, though it wasn’t very often She would sit by them, petting the gelatinous shell of those who were willing to approach her, as well as those who needed it most. If only she could all of them with her on her journey, but Pom Pom would probably not appreciate the additional guests to clean up after. With the immense number of critters discarded in the space station, it felt like Stelle needed a whole planet to house them.

It would be cruel to dump them on a lifeless, practically inhabitable planet with little to no survival skills of their own. No leader of a planet would want an invasive species to destroy their ecosystem either, no matter how cute they may be. With those two options in mind, her choices are narrowed down to a planet without a natural ecosystem or a planet with a leader who has a soft spot for odd animals. Where was she going to find either one of those?

The Xianzhou Luofu. Of course. It was purely artificial with no wildlife, headed by a general who really, really loves cats. Of all people, Stelle knew just how much that general adored cats...

She tried to find a critter that she thought would get Jing Yuan’s attention the fastest. Knowing how he was, he would be on his knees begging to take all of them home, regardless of which one she showed him first. In fact, she wants him to take them all. It’s just that the right creature could mean the difference between him accepting it now rather than later.

...With “later” probably meaning five minutes at most. Okay, so maybe the specific type of cat didn’t matter. She could honestly take a picture of the entire room populated with the creatures and Jing Yuan would offer the space station a lump sum of credits to take them all for himself.

For now, Stelle settled on taking a picture of a rather pathetic, mopey looking creature.

"What? Here to point and laugh at me for my pathetic state?" the critter whined.

"Shh. Just you wait," Stelle said.

The creature continued to mew and complain, but Stelle turned her back on it. There was no comforting such travesty, as each attempt would only make it sob more and more. It stung Stelle’s heart, really, but she had become accustomed to doing this by now.

Stelle attached the picture of the pathetic creature to the message, then promptly sent it. She didn’t expect an immediate response back. Jing Yuan was most likely napping during this time.

General, I have something I’d like to show you, she typed.

And you are just going to show me that without offering to bring me one back?

As she was making her way out of their habitat, Stelle’s phone buzzed with a text message. It’s been probably five minutes, tops. Drastic difference compared to the five hours she was expecting.

Stelle sort of forgot how easily excitable Jing Yuan was in regard to cats, or cat-like creatures, for that matter. It didn’t matter if they were big, small, or strangely shaped, the general had always had a soft spot for them. She should’ve figured that she would receive such a rapid response from sending him a cat picture; it was almost like he had some sort of a sixth sense for cats.

I mean, very, very cute. What’s its name? the messages read.

He sleeps through every other message, but if it were a picture of a cat? Jing Yuan could be in the heat of battle and he would probably stop to check his phone to gush over the image. It was his greatest weakness. Don’t let the Stellaron Hunters find out.

It doesn’t have one. It was dumped here, she replied.

He fell in love with that creature faster than he did with Stelle. She had nothing but respect for this, though. Cats first, people second. If Stelle had a pet, she would be the same way. That’s like, prioritizing trash cans over Jing Yuan, though. Not exactly the best message to send across.

Oh, poor thing. How anyone could discard such a marvelous creature is beyond me.

…Never mind that. Stelle backed up against a wall to get a clear shot of the room to send a picture of even more creatures to Jing Yuan, when her phoned buzzed in her hands once more.

…So can we keep it?

Mimi kept nuzzling her nose into Jing Yuan’s hand that was holding his phone. She seemed quite intrigued by the image of the creature that he kept scrolling up to, but she was making it virtually impossible for him to type. That last message should’ve taken only 20 seconds, tops. Instead, it felt like it took him twenty minutes to get a few words down.

Meanwhile, on the Xianzhou Luofu…

“Mimi, I’m just as excited as you, calm down,” he said, pushing her away by the nose.

He received another text, this time with a picture showing countless other similar creatures, all varying in pattern. He could hardly contain his excitement, so much as when Mimi slowly crept up to peek over his shoulders, he failed to take note of her.

Which one? That was practically an impossible question! Jing Yuan wanted all of them. He could make room on the Luofu for them. Somewhere. His place of residence was large enough that he could house them there, though he might have to deal with the occasional displeased guard tripping over an oblivious creature’s tail. That didn’t matter; Jing Yuan was the general, and he issued the orders, meaning he could order them to treat them with respect just like any other residents and allow them to coexist peacefully.

Keep which one? Stelle’s text read.

Abuse of power? Maybe a little. But the Luofu was home to a multitude of different races. No reason why he should be any less welcoming to these cake-shaped creatures compared to the Vidyadhara, Foxian, and many others.

These critters were just smaller. And jigglier. And cuter.

I believe I could arrange for accommodations to be made, he wrote back.

I knew you would like them. I doubt Ruan Mei would care if I even took them.

Exactly.

Who?

But how do you expect me to bring them back to Xianzhou, unless I try to carry like 200 critters with me?

Jing Yuan thought for a moment. The Stellaron Hunters seem to have lost interest in the planet, and things have been relatively quiet, so perhaps he could spare a lower ranking ship to pick them up. If anyone asks, call it a personal rescue mission, or something.

Send me your coordinates. I’ll send a captain over promptly.

...I’ll get in touch with Herta to let her know that the Xianzhou Luofu isn’t declaring war.

Jing Yuan called for a ship to prepare for takeoff towards the space station. Neither he nor Stelle knew how many creatures to expect to be delivered, but the Luofu was spacious enough to accommodate as many of these critters as the space station could produce, and then some. Hopefully, no one (Mimi in particular) would mistake the cake cats as actual snacks.

That would be most appreciated.

Countless little cat-like creatures having practically free reign over the Luofu. It sounded like a dream to him.

In practice, however, the presence of these small creatures created slightly larger inconveniences than he initially bothered to consider. The critters were fairly sized, yet just small enough to be out of view of an unsuspecting Luofu knight. And they tripped over them. A lot.

The creatures may not be causing such a ruckus intentionally, but Jing Yuan refused to take other measures of taming these creatures. He argued that they were their own kind, and deserved to live within the freedom of the Xianzhou’s rules just like any other. Some thought of him as a wild man. Others considered him biased, given Stelle is the one who translated their whining to him.

Despite all of these claims, Jing Yuan wasn’t safe from the wrath of the critters either. They would lay down anywhere, but most favorably, directly on whatever he was working on at the moment. And when he would gently slide one of the critters of his way, another one would be quick to take its place. Though their shenanigans may annoy him on a particularly bad day, he couldn’t stay mad at them for very long. They were too adorable. He would even let them suffocate him to death if they so desired, which had admittedly almost happened a few times. On some mornings, Jing Yuan would wake to find what felt like a thousand pounds of pure cat on his chest, preventing him from rolling over to shoo away the ones attempting to sleep on top of Stelle’s head.

They mean no harm. They’re just...like that.

The once peaceful residence of Jing Yuan became a critter haven. Stelle no longer knew peace while resting with him, as she found it quite difficult to sleep even the bare minimum of eight system hours with multiple critters pinning her down in the worst positions. At least Mimi took up only one large spot, usually on Jing Yuan’s side, not multiple parts on Stelle’s body pinching her nerves and restricting her breathing.

A part of her regretted telling Jing Yuan, but it was a small price to pay if it meant saving the creatures’ lives from being discarded.

Jing Yuan was more than eternally grateful for the new, adorable friends as well.

The Champions (New & Old) meet your pet cat 🐱

My drabble-ish headcanons for the champs, new and old (with the addition of Tulin obvs) meeting your feline friend for the first time. ...Because we deserved kitties being BOTW/TOTK.

Revali is immediately on guard. The only creature he has to compare it to is a Lynel given the shape of its nose and pointed teeth. However, seeing how incredibly small it is in comparison does bring him some ease. You hold up your cat under its front paws to try and show Revali that he's relatively harmless, but the Rito turns his beak up a bit with a wary glare. It takes quite some time before Revali is used to your pet, but he eventually warms up to him. Even makes a toy out of a few of his molted feathers for your kitty.

Daruk has to compartmentalize that a cat is NOT the same thing as a dog, and thankfully when he sees your kitty cat, it becomes very clear that those two animals aren't even close in stature. This relaxes the Goron champion, who instead becomes intrigued by this "tiny lion". He waves his fingers over your pet's head, a gesture that your kitty finds playful and sits up right to try and catch the oversized digits. Daruk is immediately enamored by how small and lively it is that he dubs it his new buddy. Many times after that you will find your cat curled up in Daruk's arm - the latter of which couldn't stop it from climbing his back and housing itself there and he didn't have the heart to put him down after.

Mipha is about as curious as your kitty is when they meet one another. Your cat takes a few sniffs of her hand to try and identify her to which she giggles softly, finding it's little nose and whiskers adorable. She tucks her fingers under your pet's chin and gently scratches, mentioning that your kitty reminds her of the catfish her father used to raise when she was little. Though in your head you think of how vastly different catfish are from actual cats, you shrug and watch on fondly as your cat takes to Mipha fairly quickly. However, Urbosa leaned over to inspect the fuzzy creature in your arms, only for a small paw press gently on her nose. The calm, cool nature of the Gerudo Chief was immediately broken, her emerald eyes softening at the tiny, meowing thing. Her nails scratch at its head and your cat purrs, eyes closing in complete delight from the attention. Urbosa feels her heart beat with a maternal thrum, suddenly feeling very protective of your pet. She looks up from petting it and warns you that if anything were to happen to him she would strike the perpetrator down with the biggest bolt of lightning she can summon.

The father & son duo of Teba and Tulin weren't exactly sure what to think. This tiny furry creature wasn't a being of flight like they were, and it required you to take care of it almost like a child - but clearly you two were not of the same kin. Teba has seen dogs before at the stables, but your feline friend was definitely not that. Upon meowing, Tulin immediately perked up, commenting on how cute that sound it made was. You held up your kitty and made its paw wave at your friends - Tulin taking its beaned hand for a little handshake. Teba on the other hand can't help but chuckle to himself, never thinking he'd find anything other than his son when he was a hatchling so cute.

Yunobo is immediately in love with your kitty cat! He's a very gentle soul himself, and all sort of animals have miraculously flocked to him in some way: birds, dogs, squirrels, etc. So seeing your pet, he wants to make friends with it right away. Because his stature might spook your little baby, he takes to kneeling, lending out his hand for your cat to take his scent in. Without missing a beat, his hand is instantly rubbed upon and before you know it, Yunobo is holding him in his arms the way one would hold a baby. You're almost dumbfounded at how swiftly your cat takes to him. But the Goron just gives you the sweetest of smiles, commenting on how relieved he is that your pet likes him.

Sidon has a bit of trouble getting along with your cat at first. His ludicrously tall build and pointed shark teeth intimidate your kitty in a way that makes him scared of the Zora royalty. This bruises Sidon's poor heart, he really does want to get to know your feline companion! It takes a little warming up (and a bit of fish treats from your finned friend), but eventually your cat does allow him petting rights. Delighted as ever, Sidon revels in the purring noises your cat lets out, comparing him to a tiny motor. You laugh at the childish wonder in Sidon's eyes as he waves his arm above your cat's head - the tiny paws swiping at the blue and yellow tinged forearm fin playfully.

Riju is ENAMORED with your adorable little cat! She's seen strays in the past in her diplomatic travels throughout Hyrule, but she's never had the opportunity to actually play with and pet one. The small mews and rascally nature of your cat has the Gerudo chief squealing with delight. So much so it draws the attention of some of her warriors who, despite their strong demeanors, cannot help but coo at the creature. To your unfortunate expense, the whole ordeal earns you an annoyed stare from Patricia - and you're mildly worried because you weren't aware that sand seals could glare...but she sure does.
