time travel fix it au's are done to death in this fandom but also they're my favourite thing in the world so au where the entire show happens as is and it's heartbreaking and inspiring etc but then. restart button. waking back up at the start of the end except only the people that lived remember
wanna think about what would happen when daryl and carol wake up at camp, remembering everything that happened; carol stronger, knowing in her gut that everything that she remembers is real, and daryl fucking terrified, because if everything in his head actually happened, then what the fuck is this
wanna think about a rick dragging a hostile merle and a wide-eyed glenn back to camp, memories completely intact, and running to reunite with his family. not letting daryl go and hugging carol so so so tight, collapsing to the ground with carl in his arms
wanna think about them dragging the atlanta group to the farm, maggie leaving the front porch light on for them, and everyone reuniting. rick seeing hershel again, daryl seeing beth, carol pulling sophia close, and maggie being unable to even breath, looking at glenn
wanna think about them tossing up whether to even go to the prison, but they met important people there, and alexandria's a long way, and if they're gonna survive this time–if they're gonna live–they're gonna do it right
so they go to the prison so they can figure out their next step, and michonne's there and waiting, andre on her hip, and they deal with the governor before the governor deals with them, and sasha and tyresse finally show up, they find the prisoners, and then one day they get a knock on the front gate, and it's negan
negan showing up, no baseball bat in hand but his leather jacket still in place, a sick but alive lucille by his side, laura and doctor franklin behind him, and all he's got to say is at the end of the world, i know which side i wanna be on
the fallout of that, of maggie being against it, of rick never having gotten to see negan at the end, not knowing the choices he made, the good and the bad. daryl and carol looking at glenn, seeing him alive and in love and having no memory of his last moments, and never wanting anything to ruin that, but negan saved judiths life, helped save all their lives. he chose, in the end, and now it's their turn
wanna think about a future where beth doesn't die, but they go on a rescue mission to get noah anyway. a future where tara turns up with her niece, led by eugene with abraham and rosita following right behind him
wanna think about how they'd handle terminus, how they'd handle the claimers. wanna think about them trying to find father gabriel, except gabe made it the first time around, and he wasn't wasting his second chance. he saved his flock, and he led them to alexandria, and he's waiting
wanna think of connie's group searching for hilltop. not finding maggie, or alden, but finding jesus. wanna think about lydia, being a fucking child, and watching her mother kill her dad, and remembering aaron telling her how loved she was
wanna think of the growing pains of them being able to save so many more family members this time, but god, a larger group is harder to keep alive
daryl trying to run interference with merle and everyone else, getting the jack of it one day and telling him he's already mourned him once, and he won't again. if merle wants to stay–to live–then it's up to him. daryl's not gonna babysit him anymore
rick trying to find his footing between lori and shane and judith, with carl, with michonne and andre. michonne looking at a weak but alive lori grimes holding a screaming and crying newborn in her arms, and knowing that she's never gonna be her daughter the way she was before, but knowing she'll always be something to her
carol struggling to be the mother sophia needs her to be, emotions too sharp and constantly fucking terrified. doesn't know how to hold onto someone like that anymore, either gripping too tight or not at all
maggie trying to exist in a world where she has everyone she's ever loved back, so close and so fucking dear, except it cost her her son. not knowing if she'll ever get him back at all. doesn't know how to live with the grief of losing someone she never technically had in this world
they make it to alexandria and it's aaron opening the gate for them, waiting to welcome them home

No More Love For You
Gabrielle's Tale as told by @halfmoondaze
Heaux Tales of Jack Harlow
Tumblr media
Gabrielle watched Jack walk off the stage, with sweat all over him and his curls almost sticking to his forehead, wearing his white beater shirt and she couldn’t help but feel some type of way.
He was grinning from ear to ear as he interacted with all the members from his crew who were congratulating him on the show. Seeing him in his element and thriving made her feel so attracted to him, more than she already was if that was even possible.
She  didn’t even realize that she was lost in her own thoughts until Jack’s voice made her snap back to reality.
“You good?”
“Yeah ... .you were amazing up there” She said shyly.
“Thanks babe” he said, putting his arm around Gabrielle and pulling her towards him in a hug and kissing the top of her head.
“Shit, sorry I forgot I stink” he said quickly realizing he was in need of a shower.
“Never bothered me before” She whispered only loud enough for him to hear.
He was taken back by her sudden boldness as she was usually shy and reserved.
“Is that so?”
She simply nodded while smiling at him.
“Aight, I just have to say hello to a few more people…and then I’ll by all yours” he whispered in her ear.
“Ok, just don’t take too long”
He smiled to himself and walked away.
After 20 minutes, Jack came through the door.
“I see you didn’t forget about me” She said, playing with her hair.
“Never”
He cupped her face and started kissing her and it quickly turned into a full on makeout session.
Gabrielle  tangled her fingers into his curls while he held her waist deepening the kiss.
And suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
Jack rolled his eyes and pulled away.
“Do you really need to take that?” She whined.
“It could be Neelam”
Gabrielle simply gave him a look.
“Babe, she’s my boss. I can’t just blow her off”
“Alright” She finally said in defeat.
He looked at her in an adorable way and approached her.
“I’ll make it up to you”
“How?”
“Tomorrow is my day off. We can do anything you want. You’ll have me all to yourself for the whole day”
“Really?”
“Promise”
She pretended to think it through before coming up with an answer.
“Ok”
He kissed her, being satisfied with the answer he received.
“I’ll be right back”
At that moment his phone started ringing.
“Wait, Jack-”
He walked out of the room before he could hear her.
“-you forgot your phone”
She simply sighed.
Gabrille wasn’t normally one to check on her partner’s phone, but considering it didn’t stop chiming nonstop, she thought that it wouldn’t hurt to take a look. Which was now something that she instantly regretted.
3 unread messages.
Hey babe
How was the show tonight?
The kids miss you and we can’t wait for you to get home. We’ll see you soon.Love you.
Tears started flooding her eyes and before she knew it, she felt sick to her stomach.
She took his phone and started scrolling through his previous messages with this woman.
He had a whole family: three children, two girls and a boy, who seemed to be around 2, 5 and 7 years old.
All this time, she was a side piece.
At that moment Jack came back to the dressing room and stopped in his tracks when he saw her crying.
“Babe, what’s wrong?” he said with worry in his eyes as he walked up to her.
“Are you cheating on me?”
“What-”
“Am I your side piece?!” Gabrielle asked, starting to get angry.
“No, why would you even think that?”
“Then what’s this?!” She said while throwing his phone at him.
He picked up his phone from the floor and saw the conversation.
“I can explain,” he said, looking at her pleading.
“Screw you” She said as she started to gather her belongings.
“Gabby, wait!” He said, taking her hand.
“Don’t fucking touch me”
He backed a few steps from her and simply sighed.
“I don’t want to see you again”
With that said, she took all of her things and left.

Winchester - (Supernatural / Smallville Crossover AU) - Chapter 14
Tumblr media
~Present~
You’ve been gone for about an hour and Clark is desperate. He’s zipped around just about every rock he could, but it’s hard when he has no idea where to go.
Finally he lands right back at your home. His first thought had been to call your brothers, but the way you looked at Michael, he must have been powerful. He didn’t want to bring anyone else into that line of fire, especially since he had no idea what he’s really dealing with.
There must be someone out there.
“Think, think!”
He walks around for a few times before it hits him.
Angel.
Well archangel if he remembered correctly.
“What was his name..”
He’s running through it all when it finally hits.
“G-Gabriel! If you can hear me please help! (Y/N) is in trouble!”
All he hears are wings, and the rush of wind smacks right into his face.
“What’s wrong, where is she!!” Gabriel looks a bit desperate, and Clark shakes his head.
“I-I can’t find her. Michael took her.”
Gabriel curses.
“That dick, I need to find Castiel.”
He’s about to take off, but Clark grabs his hand.
“Please, take me with you.”
Gabriel pauses, finally looking him over. It’s then it registers.
“You’re her kryptonian boo, can’t believe we’re just now meeting.” Gabriel smiles.
“Sure kid, hold on.”
He places a hand on Clark’s shoulder as they both disappear.
The next time they land, he’s stunned that they’re standing inside of an unfamiliar room.
Clark catches sight of Dean who jolts in his spot at the table.
“Damn it Gabriel!! Stop dropping in like that!!”
Dean looks ready to put a bullet in him. Castiel is the one that steps forward when he sees panic on Clark’s face.
“What’s wrong?”
Sam and Dean both stand.
“Dear old brother has (Y/N). We don’t have time to sit around chatting, we need to find her now.”
Dean looks furious.
“Are you saying Michael took her? What would he want with her?”
Clark shook his head.
“I don’t know. I’ve searched everywhere, I can’t find her, please, please help me.”
He sounded desperate and they all exchanged looks. Dean moves over, patting Clark’s shoulder.
“You did good calling Gabriel kid. Let’s go find her.”
Clark nods.
“This isn’t going to be easy, he must know that we’re going to be looking for her. With the protection ward, finding (Y/N) will be difficult. We need Jack.” Dean nods.
“JACK!!”
His voice rings throughout the bunker and he’s at their side in an instance.
“What’s wrong Dean?”
“We need to find Michael, he has (Y/N).”
Jack didn’t need anymore explanation, when he blinked, the golden ring sparked in his eyes.
“Let’s start looking.”
Sam was already moving to grab the angel blades
They were ready, the question is, was Michael?”

Sabriel Family Headcannons
Not married, sees no real point too. They love each other, that's enough.
A few months after they begin dating, a hunt has them dealing with a shifter. Another hunter had already dealt with it, but accidentally missed something.
The shifter's kid. Not really kid, but the one that was ordered to raise it.
Dean was busy on another hunt with Cas and Jack, so Mary goes with him.
They arrive just after the hunter blows town.
Since they're there, the two decide to check things out just in case.
Sam has to check the sewers, a bit annoyed. He can never win Rock Paper Scissors with his mom.
He found some of what the shifter shed.
He also found a little girl. That was unexpected.
He takes her back the hotel room.
Mary is concerned, but doesn't want to kill her.
She's only nine after all.
She hates it when she found out silver burns her.
Sam is thankfully able to convince her to let her stay.
They can't leave her in town, so she comes back to the bunker.
Dean is surprisingly ok with keeping her around. Jack immediately takes to her as well. Big brother energy.
Jack loves showing her his powers and is mostly their go to baby sitter. Mary and him take turns.
This goes on for a good few months.
Gabriel comes to visit Sam and the crew, only to find him reading to the little girl.
At first he can't bring himself to interrupt.
He just watches. Sam doing voices, making the girl laugh.
He'd never felt more in love.
Sam happens to glance up and see him.
Gabriel blushes and looks away, like he hadn't been silently watching him read to this girl.
Sam promised to finish the book later and picks the girl up to greet Gabriel.
At first the girl is shy, burying herself into Sam's shoulder.
She lightens a small bit after they kiss. Even more when Gabriel summons candy and gives her some.
He finds out her name is Sally.
From then on he's not just visiting Sam and his nephew.
There are days he'll come the bunker to find Jack and Sally snacking on the sugary cereal Sam disapproves of.
(side note: did not plan this intentionally, but now I see them dressing as Jack and Sally for Halloween)
Gabriel can't help but laugh when Jack and Sally say simultaneously "Don't tell Sam (Sammy)"
He'll stay until Sam gets back from the current hunt.
He shows off his illusions, Sally loving every bit of it.
She even makes requests based off her books and favorite shows.
She starts calling him Gabe like Sam does.
One day she goes to Gabriel, tugs on his pant leg, and asks him to make an illusion of what a kid of him and Sam wouldn't look like.
He starts. He doesn't know what to think.
He asks why and she explains that she can't shift unless she's seen the person she's trying to copy.
Sam comes in and hears it.
Both their hearts melt at her insistence.
Gabe obliges, making a vision of her with brown hair with a golden sheen. She has his nose, Sam's eye shape and color. She's the same height and has cute little dimples.
He really loved the one she has already.
Sally leaves to go shift in her room, thanking Gabe with a hug.
Sam and Gabe embrace, surprised but overjoyed to have a daughter.
I don't know why, but I find it really cute for these two to have a shifter daughter. I just feel it's a cool parallel to destiel and Jack. What do you think?

Kiyoshi and Little Goat stepped through the portal first. It lead them to the temple area at Mount Komorebi.
Tumblr media
Kiyoshi waited for the others to come through. But it seems the portal leads each of them to their own destination.
Tumblr media
Eventually Dtui found him. She told him that this is an otherworldly version of the temple and it's surroundings and that it took her quite a bit of strength to appear here when she heard 'the call'...
Tumblr media
She didn't know about the horses but had another quest for him. Since he is already here...
Tumblr media
“The most exquisite paradox: as soon as you give it all up, you can have it all. As long as you want power, you can’t have it. The minute you don’t want power, you’ll have more than you ever dreamed possible.” ~Ram Dass (from the Tiny Buddha site)
So she sent him to the river to meditate over this task... (Nothing is ever easy in this story lol! And they don't have much time since the portal is overgrowing on the other side!)
Tumblr media
Kiyoshi sat by the river for a while and eventually came to the conclusion that he will let his family go. He grew up in a family loyal to the Council and when he met Dtui from the Resistance and his fated mate Jack, the werwolf, he changed sides and parted ways with his family (his father even lit the pyre at Kiyoshi's execution...) ( -> The story of Kiyoshi and Dtui) This had been eating him up for the last three years and it's time to move on and let them go. They only could act as good as they could and there's no way to change them or the situation.
In the meantime Little Goat seems to have found the first horse!
Tumblr media
Kiyoshi met him later by the river. He told him his name is 霧 = Kiri, the japanese word for 'fog'. His breed is: Nokota. (Just as Kiyoshi, I didn't change Kiri in CAS, he was perfect and beautiful as he was, just like Kiyoshi ;)
Tumblr media
He was something to observe Came in close, I heard a voice Standing, stretching every nerve I had to listen, had no choice
Peter Gabriel - Solsbury Hill
Tumblr media
They hurried back to the temple before the portal closes.
Tumblr media
But Kiri refused to go near the portal. It's already getting dark...
Tumblr media
No matter what he tried. Kiri grew fond of his freedom in the otherworld. Here he was able to achieve more that a mere horse at a farm.
Tumblr media
Eventually clever Little Goat made a deal with him. He would share his form in the other world with Kiri so he could shift into horse shape and Kiri could stay here for most of the time and come and go to his liking.
Tumblr media
And with the option to mainly stay in the otherworld, Kiri agreed. He kind of missed the farm (a bit ;) and the other horses (a lot). (Little Goat later registered a patent for this application: The PokeHor =pocket+horse)
Tumblr media
And so Kiyoshi, Little Goat (and Kiri) left the otherworld again.
Tumblr media
TMI: Komorebi 木漏れ日 (pronounced kō-mō-leh-bē) Literally, “sunlight leaking through trees,” this word describes the beauty and wonder of rays of light dappling through overhead leaves, casting dancing shadows on the forest floor.

Cole: hmm hm *nods* Martina:*smiles softly* alright mijo, I'll help you out only on one condition Cole: Of course anything Martina: You help me out in the kitchen, since we're going to be baking Cole:*looks a bit dumbfounded but shrugs his shoulders anyways* sure Martina: Gracias, but we do it at night while Gabriel is away okay Cole: why? Martina:* puts a finger to her lips and smiles* Cole:*seems confused but nodded* Martina: I'll see you during the night since Gabriel is going to spend time with his friends so we'll have time*She smiled* Cole:*nods forgetting that Gabriel was going to spend time with Ana and Jack for awhile tonight before coming back home on his birthday* I forgot about that... Martina:*chuckles*It's okay you're stressed but trust me you and I are going to do something for him okay just wait okay Cole: yes ma'am Martina: Good *Once night rolled around Martina said good bye to her husband hugging him and telling him that she and Cole will spend time together as he goes out and have fun with Jack and Ana* Gabriel: You sure you two will be fine? I hope you can keep up with me Cole: *snorts a laughter* I can keep up Martina: *smiled and went to the fridge and got the eggs, flour, milk, chocolate chips and milk out before handing Cole the carton of eggs* Can you crack the eggs for me mijo? Cole:*nods and grabs a bowl as he starts cracking the eggs* *Soon everything was done with the baking Martina smiled happily as she placed each cookie on the cake happily clearly tired. Since both of them have been up till sunrise since, the both of them got distracted and of course either the cookies or the cake came out too dry or too moist but in the end they got it done* Martina:*looked over at Cole who seemed to be lying down on the couch clearly trying to stay awake* You know you can sleep Cole no need to stay up Cole: B-but...I don't want miss his r- *Yawns tiredly* Cole: his reaction... Martina:*smiled softly and went to grab a blanket for him* Sleep, I'll wake you up when he come's home okay~ Cole: hmm okay...*Is already dozing off before completely falling asleep* Martina:*places the blanket on him before looking at the sight of the kitchen before sighing a bit knowing that she has to clean it afterwards* I'll clean later... Martina:*sat down on the couch before closing her eyes too falling asleep since she was very drained from baking* Sorry mijo...mama is a bit tired *Soon Gabriel came home hugging Ana and Jack happily thanking them before heading in side when the first thing that he noticed was the kitchen was a mess and saw Martina and Cole out cold on the couch before he noticed the cake and cookies together with the cake written happy birthday on it* Gabriel:*smiles softly and chuckled a bit* Thank you,you two... I love it

It's funny how you're taught that nurture plays an immeasurable role in who you are while also being taught that YOU play an immeasurable role in who you are. The thing is, deep down nobody really believes nurture plays an immeasurable role in who you are while also believing that YOU play an immeasurable role in who you are, at least in a consistent way. Deep down people want it to be one or the other depending on the person they're judging so they sort people into two groups. Those who are the way they are because the world forces their hand, and those who are the way they are "just because". That's sadly how you get characters like Adrien Agreste and Jack Horner. Like Astruc said, everyone knows Adrien is "perfect", but does flawed things because the world forces his hand. And everyone knows nurture played no role in creating Jack Horner. He is the way he is "just because".
You see this is actually showcased by Jack,Adrien and Chloe
Chloe was molded by her nurture since every aspect of her personality was because of someone else’s influence. Her mother her pure hatred for anything that she doesn’t like but also her need for attention, her spoiled personality and the fact she sometimes is a giant brat but also her relationship with Sabrina which may have come from the similar relationship their fathers have (showcased by mega leech) and finally Hawkmoth & ladybug molded her personality in different ways; Ladybug for the better and hawkmoth for the worse but Chloe never really did anything to build character herself, she just learned from others
Jack was molded by himself since every part of he’s life is nothing but him having the wrong reaction, loving parents,a thriving business and a mansion, yet he still envy’s the fairytale characters, Jack choose to be like that
And Adrien a bit of both since he’s obviously emotionally easy to break and manipulate thanks to he’s father but he molded himself has someone with… “attitude” to say the least which is showcased by he’s alter ego “cat noir” which showcased he’s self built sense of rebellion
On a side note can i talk about how this talks about Adriens character and hawkmoth has a villain?
people always debate if Ladybug should be the protagonist but cat noir having not only having this personal conflict but also hawkmoth being he’s father shows he has more potential than she could ever had
They try to give them a Spider-Man and Green Goblin kind of rivalry but that doesn’t work with ladybug and Hawkmoth
Good villains have something that puts them against their Hero
Batman and Joker are complete opposites
Death is Puss in Boots biggest fear and motivation for the wish (literally) going after him
Green goblin and Spider-Man are in similar situations, both have the power to change the world but Peter learned to use this power to better the life’s of others even if he’s sucks, meanwhile Norman used this power to better he’s life while ruining others to better he’s already great life (not talking about the movie version but more like of the comics and other series version)
Hawkmoth does not have any kind of connection with ladybug or parallel or anything, at most he makes her life a stress for having to save Paris while also being her crush father. But outside of that the character that fits better has Hawkmoth enemy is Adrien
Jack exists not only so they can get rid of the wish and have a big bad to defeat since death is unbeatable, but also to showcase the kinds of villains. A movie Can have, the movie doesn’t pretend he’s puss biggest enemy but he’s the worse person in here
Gabriel is the worse person but still fails to be anything more than a villain, he lacks the enjoyment of Jack or the sympathy Goldilocks & the three bear give and he’s not even near the level of intimidation, fear, power and personal connections Death has with puss

(Wow, I love when my notifications don’t work and I don’t see people’s replies. -_-)
Fun fact: I literally wrote a line recently in-character about Cassidy thinking he or Jack should be the one to kill Reaper, but he knows Jack won’t do it, so he has to someday. On the same wavelength, I suppose. I could see him putting it off as long as possible for obvious reasons, but eventually he’ll reach the point he has to make the choice, and he knows what choice he’s going to make when he reaches that point.
Talking with Jack will make it clear to him (if it isn’t already...) that Jack is just not capable of judging Gabriel objectively. Jack’s judgment will always be clouded by his own feelings and worldview, and there’s just no changing that. Not only will Jack not be able to kill Gabriel if it’s necessary, but I don’t think Cassidy would want Jack to have to, because he’d quickly realize that it’d absolutely destroy Jack if he had to do that.
Something I don’t think people give Cassidy credit for is that, at least to me, he seems to be pretty good at understanding other people. (One big example of this for me was how he could tell Baptiste was on his side so easily). And I think that might inform him to see ‘well, Jack is being kind of a shithead, but I know he wants the best for us in the end’, while also seeing ‘Gabriel probably won’t find redemption until it’s too late and one of my team gets killed’. Good intentions vs not-so-good ones. That’s why I could see him reaching peace with Jack, but it’d be much harder for him to do that with Gabriel.
That also might be why Retribution was such a shock to him. He didn’t expect Reyes to do something like that, and it wasn’t in line with his judgment of Reyes. It wasn’t just a breach of trust (although it was that), it was also a moment of do I even know you?
Also, about Lena, I think she could serve as a bit of an “anchor” for Jack - a lot of his chances to rebuild old relationships could come from his caring for her. His ‘bridge’ between the ‘old’ Overwatch and the ‘new’, if you know what I mean?
I dunno. I just like thinking about how the “new” Overwatch crew relate to the old ones.

(Going to fuse as many of these as I can.)
Breaking Into Vlad's house via his ghost portal at the dead of night on a chilly Friday wasn't Danny, Tucker, and Sam's idea of a good time, but the billionaire had been suspiciously quiet since the time he showed up at the house sick with a flare up of Ecto-Acne and they *just* wanted to double check to make sure that it didn't go dormant when 'cured' only to come back full-force and fatal. If it was just Vlad, they probably wouldn't have bothered, but since Sam and Tucker also got infected... It was worth double-checking.
The only light in the area was the faint greenish glow of the still-open portal, but it was all that was needed to show that the older halfa's lab was mostly clean if you ignored the layer of dust starting to settle. Danny used some of his ectoplasm to light up the area a little more, but the only thing shown that seemed noteworthy in the place was a set of files in alphabetical order that rested on the table.
Aster Masters.
Brutus Masters.
Clav Masters.
Danielle & Dan Masters.
Emily Masters.
Flynn Masters.
Gabriel Masters.
Project: The House Always Wins.
The three teens gave each other a look before hesitantly picking up the files and looking through them in reverse-alphabetical order.
Project: The House Always Wins. - After discovering that my condition is both more lethal and chronic than I realized, I went to the doctor for the first time in years for a full check up to see just how badly my body was messed up from that incident.
It was even worse than I thought.
Because of it, I was told that I can't have children of my own and it devastated me. For a period of time, I was even considering just... 'closing the curtains' so to speak and leaving everything to Skulker, Valerie, and the Vultures.
Experience has made it clear that I have no one else truly on my side, even then, their loyalty to me is conditional and I know it.
As I was drafting my will, a starved man in rags with a face identical to my own staggered into my house and raided my fridge. When confronted, he claimed that he WAS me, but from a different timeline. I was skeptical, but then he switched to his ghost form to prove it.
Our ecto-signatures matched.
We sat down over lunch where he further elaborated on his circumstances.
There is a timeline out there where Maddie and I were married, where Jack was the one in my accident, not me. He told me a few other things that didn't make sense given his story but that's not the focus here the main point is that the life they built together was destroyed, she threw him away in favor of that oaf despite the fact that he was half of what she hated the most. I think that made me lose respect for her more than the fact she left her husband of twenty years to die in the ghost zone. Why was she so willing to love and accept a man in my circumstances because he wasn't me? Why does she find me repulsive when I did so much for her?
We unfortunately didn't have a lot of time to talk, Clockwork took him back to his actual timeline before I could ask him further questions and when I protested, he told me he didn't have time for this and that he has more pressing matters like an escaped dangerous prisoner or something. Bologna Sandwiches! He's the TIME ghost, of course he has the time for this! Just freeze it you worm!
...I suspect he has just frozen time specifically to tie my shoelaces together.
But my brief encounter with the alternate me gave me a lot to think about when I tried to return to my original plan. Why should *I* be the one to give up my life when this disease has already taken so much away from me? Why is Jack rewarded with a loving family for how quickly he threw me away while I'm left with the compensation I had to give myself because my so called 'best friend' couldn't even be bothered to do the bare minimum after ruining my life? Why should I be condemned to the worst type of death twice? The longer I thought on it, the more my despair turned into fury. Life stole my lemons, and now I'm going to tear its arms off to get them back.
I'm well aware that fixing fate's mistakes will involve a lot of gambles, however, I have no other options available. It WILL not win. I WILL give myself the family it tries to deny me.
Danny bit his tongue, not sure what to say about what he had just read.
"Oh, thanks Vlad... as if worrying about just the acne being fatal wasn't bad enough..." Sam sneered at the file.
"Well, *we* didn't get ghost powers from it, so maybe we won't have to worry too much about other side effects?" Tucker suggested while looking through the Gabriel file.
Gabriel - Vitals are great, she doesn't seem to possess any unnatural or worrying characteristics outside her breed, and she gets along with the cats nicely. Of all the things that could've happened when Desiree overheard me wishing for a kid, I'm both relieved and thankful that she gave me a baby goat.
"Oh my gosh, he included pictures-" The glasses wearing teen snickered while showing his friends the baby goat in question.
Flynn - Malnourished due to lack of human-safe food in the ghost zone. Covered in various scars, and an X-ray has revealed that his leg was broken. To be honest, I have no clue how he survived this long without my interference. But the good news is that he is recovering at a steady pace and is adjusting to life in the human world.
"I... kinda wanna know that too to be honest. Did he luck out and land in some kind of garden..?"
A DNA test has confirmed my suspicions, he is indeed related to Jack and Maddie...
"I HAVE A BROTHER?!"
Danny gawked at the file. This was completely unbelievable, even when he was looking at the picture of the boy in question. As Vlad's writing described, he was underweight, had scars from what Danny could only assume were claw marks and ectoblasts all over his body, and his leg was in a cast. He looked around Jazz's age and had his mom's purple eyes and auburn hair. But it was still... How did he never know about this before? Why didn't his parents tell him? Hell, did Jazz know?! If not, she deserved to! And why was he finding this out from Vlad's files of all things?!
Looking through the pictures, the three saw the boy- Danny's brother- Flynn wearing normal clothes as well as a green full-body suit that reminded Danny of Valerie's ghost hunting suit, except instead of the visor being tinted black, it was clear, showing him with glowing green eyes.
No matter, if they wanted him, they would've looked hard enough to find him before I did and if they want to take him back from me, they're going to have to fight me in court. They don't know about me having him yet but I will be discussing this situation with my lawyer before they find out and cry 'kidnapper'.
"Okay, this has officially gone from a check-in to a rescue mission."
"...Do you think the other files are kidnapped kids?"
"Only one way to find out..."
Emily - I got a few funny looks throughout the adoption process, a natural part of taking in a haunted doll. Her former "caretakers" were willing to humor me by treating my daughter like a child instead of an object but we both know that they're just happy to be rid of her, not a fan of the 'ghost spider' thing.
"GAH! KILL IT WITH FIRE!"
"Shh! Not so loud! You'll wake up the whole mansion!"
The nerve of some people... She's just a poltergeist, she can't help it!
I have had professional doll makers mend and polish her vessel as well as provide four other porcelain dolls for her to pick and choose at her transgression. As of now, she seems healthy, happy, and has settled in to her new room and house nicely.
"That's... actually kinda cute. ...In a creepy way."
Danielle & Dan - The final result of my chimera/cloning experiments resulted in a set of twins of opposing sexes. ...More research will be done on the gene donor to figure out how this came to be. There were a handful of 'melting scares' during the first few months of their time out of their chambers, but we've figured out how to keep them safe and healthy; a daily injection of ectoplasm stabilizer.
"Holy crap..." Danny frowned looking at the pictures of two kids, one that looked identical to himself at age twelve and one that looked just how he'd look like as a girl, at age twelve. "He cloned me?! What is wrong with him?!"
"Aaaaaaaand we're back to full-on creepy."
On a weird note, Danielle seems to have the same interests and similar personality traits to her gene donor, while Dan's interests and personality traits seem to align more with my own. I wouldn't think twice about that if I didn't know from my experience working on Brutus and Aster that the human halves of artificially made halfas needed their neuron connections manually made in order to properly function. I know for a fact I did not make those connections in their heads. My current hypothesis for Danielle is that those connections were made when her human and ghost halves melted together during one of the scares, but Dan has left me completely stumped. The vultures and Flynn suggest that he just looks up to me, but if he did, why would he try to hide that he has these traits from me?
"...Is it just me or does Dan's ghost form have... red eyes, pointed ears and..." Danny trailed off as he looked at the pictures.
"You don't think..." Sam and Tucker gave Danny a nervous look.
"I'll ask Clockwork when I get the chance."
Clav - After several failed cloning attempts, frustration led me to 'give in' and use my own DNA to fill in the gaps that the donor left despite the danger posed to myself as well as the potential outcome that the resulting Chimera would have to endure the same chronic disease I do. While they unfortunately cannot take a human form, their core is very strong and stable, their mental fortitude is coming along nicely, and so far they've learned a handful of words and phrases. All and all, a promising start to this project.
"Okay, that is... half a skeleton."
"Why are its bones black?"
The skeleton was shrugged off as they looked at the next file.
Brutus - I had accidentally used Jack's DNA to fill in the gaps when I meant to use Maddie's. Luckily, the resulting chimera is far more competent than his other donor despite currently being on the same mental wavelength as a toddler. He doesn't seem to be able to take on a ghost form, but it seems that he can use limited ghost powers.
Danny rolled his eyes at the insult aimed at his dad and put the file back.
Aster - I'm so close to making the perfect clone, I just know it! using Danny's DNA only, I had managed to create a stable clone capable of both a human form and a ghost form. Unlike all that came before him, he hasn't melted into a puddle of biomass tainted ectoplasm, and while it is difficult, we have been navigating his unusual circumstances better than we expected. Skulker has been a huge help in building things that get his needs met, but part of me still wants to do some research into how he came out as only five and a half inches tall.
They were just about to look at the pictures before the lab door opened.
Tucker flinched and dropped the file on accident as a heavy set of footsteps made their way down the stairs.
Danny grabbed Sam and Tucker's hands and turned invisible on reflex. If they were lucky, whoever almost caught them would dismiss it as something that got in or out through the ghost portal, close it, and call it a night.
"Who's down here?" A deep, husky voice rumbled through the dark lab before the light switch flicked on.
From what they could see of the hulking figure, he was wearing a black tank top, pajama pants of the same color, had grayish skin with stitches on his arms and head in a way that reminded the trio of Frankenstein's monster, but unlike said monster, he instead had bluish-greenish eyes, short, charcoal-black hair with a dark gray streak in it, and what appeared to be a mouthful of razor sharp teeth.
He noticed the files on the floor and he picked them up and put them on the table.
"...Those files are pretty outdated, anything you've learned from them won't help you fight us. ...Or whatever it is you want." Brutus tsked as he looked around the room. "I know you're still in here, so why don't you just come out and we can talk..."
Instead, Danny adjusted his grip on Sam and Tucker and phased through the ceiling with them in tow.
The ghost let go of his friends and screamed in pain as three spears pinned him to the wall, two in his arms, and one in his tail.
"Well, well, well..." The hunter in the green suit stepped into the trio's line of sight, his glowing green eyes full of pure, unfiltered malice and his voice filtered by his mask. "I always figured Mr. Golden Boy would come back and pay the rest of the rest of us a visit."
"Flynn?!"
"Oh, so you *do* know my name..." He sneered as he put his hand on the spear in Danny tail and yanked it out of him, making Danny let out a pained yelp while the green hunter cleaned the blood and ectoplasm off the tip. "But I bet you learned it from Uncle Vlad instead of Jack or Maddie."
"Hey! What's your deal?!"
"We came here to save you!"
Sam and Tucker protested against the hunter's treatment of their friend, leading him to roll his eyes at them.
"Save me from What, exactly? Save me from a roof over my head? Save me from a warm, soft bed? Save me from three square meals a day? Clean water? Bandages? Video games? A place where for once in my life, I feel genuinely safe and... and happy?!" his eyes narrowed. "Because if you WANTED to save me from the horrors of the ghost zone, you're a couple of months too late for that..."
Flynn ripped the second spear out.
"Wait! You don't understand! We're brothers!" Danny pleaded with the green-eyed teen. "I don't know what Vlad told you, but it's a lie! It's all a lie!"
With that, Flynn burst out into loud, cackling laughter before taking the third spear out.
"Oh man... that's hilarious! Uncle hasn't even told me anything about you guys yet. He was focusing on you know, healing my injuries and teaching me and my siblings how the human world works? 'Cause that *kinda* takes priority over filling me in on my deadbeat 'family' that had a ghost portal of their own, but never bother going through it to look for me. Everything I learned about the Fentons, I learned through newspaper clippings, Uncle's diaries, and the natural conclusions ANYONE would come to after learning what I did."
"But-"
"You know what, you wanna involve yourself in my family situation so badly?"
Flynn socked Danny in the face with one arm and used the other to pull a vial out of his suit, cracking it open to release a gas which made the trio's eyes and limbs feel like lead.
"Then consider yourselves welcomed to the Masters Family."
---
A few hours later, Danny and his friends stirred awake, their limbs still felt heavy from the effects of the gas.
"Ugh my head.." Sam tried to rub her aching head only to realize that her
"Where are we..?"
Danny looked around and noticed that he and his friends were all tied to chairs in Vlad's dining room, he himself was at the foot of the table with Sam on his left and Tucker on his right, his position giving him the best view of the scene before him. Also sitting in chairs, but not being tied to them were seven figures that ranged from looking similar to extremely different from their pictures.
At the head of the table was Flynn, his hunter suit mostly still on but the mask was removed, showing that he was giving the three a sinister smile.
On Flynn's left was the big clone, the one the file said was Brutus. Despite looking like one of the more stereotypically evil ghosts present in this lineup, he looked very uncomfortable with the situation and like he'd much rather be doing anything else.
On Flynn's right was a bedsheet with red eyes. This ghost also looked like it would rather be anywhere else, but in a bored way instead of a discomforted way. Like he was dragged out of bed for this and just wanted to go back to sleep.
Next to the sheet ghost and Brutus and across from each other were the twins. One of them looked at Danny cautiously yet curiously while the other smirked as if he knew something. Danny could only tell which one was which based on their current expressions and 'reactions to him' as the pictures didn't show him that both had grown their hair out, the curious Danielle keeping her hair in a ponytail while Dan had a mullet. It didn't bode well to him knowing that all Dan needed to do to hide in plain sight was to use a hair tie.
Between Sam and Danielle was a robot/space alien from the 60s. An entity in a silver-chrome suit with glowing cyan buttons and highlights, a plate armor skirt, white gloves and boots, and a jet-black, fishbowl-like helmet with a pair of glowing cyan eyes visible in it. Looking back and forth between him and the bedsheet ghost, Danny knew that one of them was Clav and the other was Aster through process of elimination as there was no tiny ghost or skeleton ghost at the table, but he wasn't entirely sure which was which.
Across from the spaceman and between Tucker and Dan, was a porcelain doll with a light pink, frilly dress, rosy cheeks, big blue eyes, golden fluffy hair, and a pair of big pink bows giving her twin tails. There seemed to be nothing out of the ordinary with her, a stark contrast to the downright horrifying at worst and eerie at best photos in her file, but one that Danny definitely did not mind.
A human-sized blob ghost in a fancy suit (a butler?) came out of the kitchen and set plates of food in front of every person seated, regardless of if they were tied up or not.
The smell of freshly cooked eggs and bacon in front of Tucker stirred him awake.
"Guys, I just had the craziest nightmare!" Tucker exclaimed as he woke up without looking too deeply into his current surroundings. "In it, Vlad cloned Danny a bunch of times and the clones were all super weird-"
Sam cleared her throat audibly and gestured to their hosts of the midnight breakfast with her eyes to clue Tucker in to shut up. Tucker, who didn't pick up on it, continued.
"and he also adopted... idunno, Danny's long-lost cousin or something and this horrifying spider-doll thing that looked like it ate the souls of the innocent for breakfast-"
The 'horrifying spider-doll thing' pinched Tucker's side as hard as she could.
"Ow!"
He looked to where he felt the pinch and his face of irritation melted away to one of fear. He was right next to the rebuilt doll. The technology loving teen screamed in a way where it died in his throat and sounded like air escaping a balloon.
"You are the rudest guest we've ever invited to a midnight brunch." The poltergeist pouted and crossed her arms as she spoke in a sing-song voice. "SO rude in fact that I wanna play with you first..."
"Didn't we agree that the non-supernatural earthlings were off limits?" The spaceman raised a nonexistent eyebrow. "Father cares not for them, but he wouldn't appreciate us ruining the carpets over them."
"Oh shut up, Aster" The twin with a mullet rolled his eyes. "Screw the carpets, 'Daddy' would hate this whole damn thing and everyone here knows it. In fact, Flynn, why bother with the dinner and a show at all? We should've killed them before they even woke up."
"Like a coward?" The twin with a ponytail rested her head on her hand while smirking at her twin. "That's the route you wanna take? Is the donor and his friends too stwong and scawy for you?"
Emily covered her mouth with her hands as she snickered in amusement.
"A coward *and* a simpleton." The sheet ghost nodded in agreement to Danielle's taunts. "While I'm still of the opinion that it's too dang early for this nonsense, if we're going to be the ones to end their stories, we need to give them a spectacular, memorable ending! Not just something as dull as putting them out in their sleep like sick dogs at the vet!"
"No." Dan huffed back. "I'm more like someone who doesn't want to go on a wild goose chase from midnight to six in the dang morning! What's the point of making spectacles that they can find a way to worm out of?! Do you two WANT an endless game of cat and mouse?!"
"You don't??" Emily tilted her head to the side. "The endlessness is half the fun!"
"...Or we can let them go for the night and pretend none of this ever happened..?" Brutus nervously fidgeted as his siblings' gazes turned to him. "Clav's right, it *is* too early for this. Aster and Dan have a point, dad wouldn't want us to be doing this behind his back so if he finds out, we're all gonna get in HUGE trouble. And Flynn, Emily, Danielle, we can always play with them if we want to on a different day, it's not like they're going to disappear into thin air never to be seen again the second we let them out."
"...I second that guy's idea." Danny unhelpfully added.
Flynn clinked a spoon against his glass, getting everyone's attention.
"Okay, now that everyone's fully awake and done making fools of themselves..." He shot a glare at Brutus. "It seems that we're at an impasse on what to do with you three, so the only natural solution is a game of hide and seek: we'll break your bonds and let you hide, we'll seek you out and whoever catches you can do whatever they want to you. Sounds fair, everyone?"
The trio gave each other a look while the Masters children grumbled amongst themselves.
"On your mark..." Flynn readied his spear. "Get set..." He threw it directly at Danny, just narrowly missing the boy himself and hitting the rope between his arm and torso, Danny was quick to take the opportunity to blast the ropes off of his friends and flee with them in tow.
"GO!"
The three didn't dare look back as they heard the roar of an engine, the skittering of thousands of spider legs, and the woosh of speeding ghosts behind them.
His first thought was to flee through the ghost portal downstairs, it was the fastest way out of Wisconsin and back home and the fastest way he could think of to end the Masters' children's game of hide and seek which was closer to a game of seek and destroy.
Unfortunately, Aster seemed to know his thought process well enough to predict that Danny would do that as the trio flew head-first into a net set up in front of the portal, managing to get a few feet into the ghost zone before being pulled back out by the net's cables.
"...Well, that's rather anti-climatic. With everything I heard from Skulker, I was under the impression you would be the most elusive earthlings to hunt." The spaceman tsked. "Now hold still, I hold interest in only one of you..."
As he was rummaging with the net trying to figure out how to let Sam and Tucker out without also letting Danny out, Tucker was breaking his PDA out and breaking through as many firewalls as he could before he finally managed to hack into Aster's suit.
"AURGH!"
The spaceman dropped the net as his arms and legs collapsed into his body, his torso followed suit, leaving the only visible parts of his body being his helmet and the pleated skirt-like strips of metal that started fusing together into a stereotypical UFO form that started hovering as Tucker continued to control it.
"Huh, so that's what the skirt's for." Tucker thought out loud as he sent the ghost off.
"It's a pteruges!" Aster corrected as his suit was speeding into outer space against his will.
"Skulker should've warned you about that!" Sam called after the fleeing Space-ghost.
As soon as the three were free from the net, the ghost portal shut itself closed. At the exact same time, Danny's ghost sense went off.
"You guys don't plan on making this easy, do you?" Danny groaned in irritation as he turned around and faced the next Masters to get in the trio's way; Dan. Who unlike Aster, did not have a mechanical weakness to easily exploit.
"Let's just cut to the chase." He cracked his knuckles and switched to his ghost form, revealing to the trio that their suspicions were correct. "We can do this the easy way or the fun way."
Danny took his friends' hands and flew threw the wall.
"Looks like we're doing this the fun way." Dan flew after them.
The ghost from the ruined future chased his past self through the garden, through the trees on the cusp of the Masters' property, back into the mansion, and as Danny noticed Dan was gaining on him, he decided to take a risky maneuver: intentionally seeking out another Masters to distract Dan with.
He weaved in and out of the mansion's walls, seeking out other seeker and finding nothing but empty rooms. Danny cursed under his breath, it shouldn't be THIS hard to find people who were looking for you!
He was zipping through one of their bedrooms right now for crying out loud! Luckily, said bedroom was full of objects covered with sheets, so Danny managed to pull a fast one on Dan by pretending to leave the room and swapping himself and his friends with three of the statues previously under sheets.
Danny covered his mouth with his hands to muffle his gasps as he caught his breath while Sam and Tucker kept an eye out for the other seekers.
"Even if it's safer than getting caught by Dan, with all these sheets, Clav could be hiding in plain sight..." Sam lamented as she scanned the room. "We don't even know what he looks like under it, for all we know, he could've been one of those statues we uncovered."
She frowned at one of them as she read its label, the abstract mass of human features mashed together in clay form was named 'Self Portrait 8'.
"I think we'd have a worse problem if we were trying this in Emily's room. I bet it looks exactly how your room did when you were five; bright pink with a million stuffed animals and other porcelain dolls. Less hiding spots for us, but more places to hide in plain sight for her." Tucker unhelpfully added.
"Ugh, don't remind me..." Sam cringed as she thought back to how her mother went absolutely overboard on overly girly and cute things before she pushed back and established her identity.
"Well, we're not staying here forever." Danny panted. "We just need to find the others and get them on each other's backs instead of ours.."
Tucker pulled out his PDA thinking he might be able to use Aster's tech to catch the others.
"...Or, we could wake Vlad up and make *him* deal with his nightmare spawn while we escape."
"That... works too." Danny was mentally kicking himself for not thinking of that while Dan was chasing them.
"Found you!"
As the living doll popped out of seemingly nowhere, Danny punted her on reflex, sending her hurling into the wall and breaking her head clean off her neck.
"Y-you...!" The doll's voice turned from cheery to eerie and angry, as she spoke, spider legs taller than a full grown adult squirmed and staggered as they forced their way out of the neck hole of the broken doll. "You broke my face and limbs, RUINED my bows, and dirtied my nice pink dress! I'll make you pay for this!"
The trio fled as the headless doll chased them, but now that they had a goal in mind, they sped off to the Master bedroom, but the closer they got, the more Seekers joined the chase, going from just the spider-doll to the spider, the twins, the sheet ghost, the spaceman, and even Flynn, who was throwing spears at them which Danny was just narrowly dodging. Seeing Flynn attack them must've reminded the others that they had projectiles themselves as Danny soon also found himself dodging an array of ectoblasts.
The closer they got, the more hectic and stronger the group's attacks got until Danny flung the bedroom door open and started shaking the sleeping man.
"Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!" They frantically repeated as the Masters children were on the brink of capturing them.
Out of desperation, Danny yanked Vlad up and hid behind him with the intent to use him as a human shield which was lucky for Danny, but unlucky for Flynn as a spear intended for Danny's head instead found itself lunged in Vlad's torso.
"GAHK!"
"Uncle!" Flynn called out in instantaneous regret.
Disoriented confusion quickly gave way to lividness as Vlad pulled the spear out of his chest. "Aster! Clav! Dan! Danielle! Emily! Flynn! What on earth do you think all of you are doing at this hour?!"
"Wait! Daddy! W-we can explain!" the headless doll stammered "Those cretins behind you broke into the house and we were scared!"
"The invading Earthlings even attacked us!" Aster gestured to his damaged suit and Emily's broken neck. "We felt we had no other option!"
Vlad shot the trio behind him a glare. "I'll deal with you three later." He then turned back to his own hoard of kids and crossed his arms while tapping his foot. "Then why didn't you think of waking me up to deal with it first or when things were getting rough? For all you know, things could've gotten a lot worse! In fact, where's your brother Brutus?! Did something happen to him?!"
The six nervously fidgeted.
"Er.. well..." Aster tapped his index fingers together.
"Uh..." Clav wrung his hands
"Maybe he.." Danielle started before shaking her head.
"hmm..." Flynn bit his lip and held his chin.
"Um..." Emily pulled at her dress's ribbons.
"I think he got lost..?" Dan shrugged while nervously smiling.
Vlad gave the six a tired frown.
To Danny, there was something unnerving yet satisfying about watching his nemesis dragging his evil future self out the room and down the hallway by the ear while carrying the other five horrors under his arm like a football. Aster's expression was unreadable as was Emily's due to one being headless and the other's featureless fishbowl head being damaged, but Danielle and Clav looked like they were dreading an upcoming punishment while Flynn looked completely devastated and racked with guilt.
But the trio couldn't stick around to watch the six get their just desserts, not unless they wanted to be next. So they snuck back to the lab to escape through the ghost portal.
...Only to find it was still closed and locked.
"Darn it!" Danny exclaimed and punched the metal. "All of that and we're all still stuck here?!"
"...Caught ya."
Danny flinched as he felt a large hand on his shoulder. He whipped around in a second with the intent to shoot only for the large guy to put his hands up, gesturing that he wasn't a threat.
"Woah there! I said before that I just want to talk..."
"...About what?" Danny lowered his charging ectoblast.
"How to get you three back home while the portal's on emergency lock-down for starters? I've got a car and a license, it's not the *fastest* method by any means, but it beats walking and it's less exhausting than carrying two people while flying across states."
"Wait, you *want* to help us?" Tucker raised an eyebrow. "Why?"
"I have questions only you guys can answer." Brutus gestured for the three of them to follow him. "So do you wanna ride or wait for my dad to send you guys home?"
"The ride!"
"We definitely want the ride!"
The trio were quick to follow the hulking brute after realizing that their alternatives were far worse options.
The car he led them to was a black crew cab truck with neon green glow-in-the-dark ghosts all over it in patterns that reminded the three of those hot rod flame patterned cars.
"Woah..."
"Cool!"
The boys exclaimed while Sam rolled her eyes.
"I painted it myself." Brutus grinned at the car proudly as he unlocked it.
The trio and the brute got into the car and sped off, while it was a long way to go, the quicker they got home, the better.
"So you said you had questions only *we* can answer, what are they?" Tucker asked the driver as they got to their first stop light.
"What's Jack Fenton like?"
"Wait, Vlad didn't tell you?" Danny raised an eyebrow.
"He hates talking about him in my earshot, in all my siblings' earshots too... And I think he blocked everything mentioning him in his electronic files, so I can't read them." Brutus explained. "Don't get me wrong, I love my family, but I guess I'm curious and I want to learn about the forbidden family, but without meeting them in person. I mean, at best they'll think I'm some kinda outta wedlock lovechild between Jack and Dad, and at worst... I don't wanna think about it."
"Oh.." Danny thought it over for a while "Well, my dad's tall, built like a wall, you probably got it from him, he has black hair, bluish brown eyes, and he's a ghost hunter, both my parents are, really. He's also an inventor, but he mostly makes... ghost hunting gadgets..."
"I take it he doesn't know about...?" Brutus gestured to Danny's ghost form.
"...Neither of my parents do." Danny nodded.
"So it's normal for families to keep secrets..." The outlier Masters thought out loud while noticing that the red light turned green and drove off.
"Well you and I are specific and unusual cases.."
"I didn't mean to phrase it like it's a bad thing!" Brutus clarified. "It's just... I don't really have a good frame of reference for 'normal'. I'm physically and mentally in my... mid twenties I think? but I've only existed for a handful of months and I think that my dad, siblings and I are all pretty unusual. There's the ghost stuff, dad being a billionaire that collects weird artifacts in the Ghost Zone, one of my siblings being a human raised by ghosts before dad found him, another being a poltergeist, me and four of my siblings being grown in capsules like those foam ghosts that you grow in water..." He listed off before realizing he was getting off track. "Anyway, I can look at something and know that just because it's a MASTERS normal doesn't mean it's normal to everyone else, but finding out what *is* really normal is pretty hard for me."
"..So what is your secret, big guy?" Tucker piped up in the back seat. "If it's not this midnight run, I mean."
"Dad and my siblings don't know that I'm actually made with Jack and Vlad's DNA."
"...What?!" the trio exclaimed as they stared wide eyed at the driver.
"How?!"
"How...?" He raised an eyebrow. "Oh! That, well dad had put a temporary pause on project T.H.A.W. because his hands full with Clav and Flynn and their odd circumstances, but when he got back to it and started trying to make me, he grabbed both the wrong human DNA sample and the wrong halfa DNA sample. Unlike Flynn, he didn't get my DNA tested because 'Jack has a very distinctive build' so there wasn't any doubt on who my human gene donor was and unlike Clav, I didn't show any signs or symptoms of ecto-acne so he never saw any reason to double check."
"And how did you figure out you're made with Vlad's DNA if *he* didn't know?"
As Danny asked the question and actually studied the driver's features, Brutus's secret seemed less 'secret' to him. In fact, he was almost kicking himself for needing to be told. The other clones had *his* features, Dan, Danielle, and Aster were literal copies of him, Clav was a skeleton and it still had his face shape, but Brutus? Everything that suggested that he a Fenton in blood came from Danny's Dad's DNA, not Danny's DNA itself. And while he still saw his dad in Brutus, he also started to see the Vlad in him, like the more triangular shape of his body as opposed to Jack's square body type (maybe he would've had Vlad's hourglass body type if he wasn't as beefy or big boned) or the shape of the chimera's head not perfectly matching up with Jack's (although definitely having the Fenton Patriarch's chin), but looking more like Vlad's.
"I compared and contrasted my DNA with the lab samples after I saw a picture of dad back in his college days. He and I had the same gray-ish color stripe." He tapped on said gray streak on his Mohawk for emphasis. "I got rid of the test and put the picture back where I found it after I found out. Dad already worries a lot about Clav getting sick again, I don't want him to worry twice as much, you know? Plus there's also Flynn, Emily, Aster, the twins..." Brutus shrugged. "Plus, I'm a good problem solver, so why bug dad about a problem after I fixed it myself?"
"...Did you ever get Ecto-ance before..?" Sam gave the driver and his suddenly suspicious faint circular scars on his arms, shoulders, and face a quizzical look.
"Yeah, but I scratched it off so no reason to worry."
"...You. Scratched. It. Off."
"Yup, with a cheese grater."
The trio gawked at the brute who refused to elaborate, perhaps sparing their sanity by bringing his ramblings to an end for now. After a handful of songs on the radio, Sam piped up again.
"There's something that's been bugging me about all of this... How come you're the only one of Vlad's kids who's NOT evil when you're one of the most Vlad of them..?"
"The answer I think you're looking for is 'we're more than the sum of our parts'. -Parts in this case being what our parents made us out of. But if you ask me, I think that 'evil' would be too strong of a word for any of us, really..." Brutus rubbed his thumb against the steering wheel. "Flynn's a human raised by ghosts in the ghost zone, that's not evil, that's a wild child trying to adjust to a domesticated world with varying results. Imagine being raised by wolves all your life, then getting brought to human civilization by a werewolf. That's Flynn's situation. Danielle's struggling with identity issues being a twin on top of being a clone and all, while figuring out who she is, she is gonna act out and get mean, it's frustrating being constantly compared to your siblings by others even when you love them. Clav *talks* big villainy stuff but never really tries anything, it just likes making art and being spooky and angsty. Aster has a similar thing going on but with him but instead of art he LARPs as his Space-alien bounty hunter OC 24/7. I don't know about you but only "evil" for the aesthetic doesn't really count as evil in my eyes... Emily's a poltergeist, a ghost that doesn't have a physical form of her own like you and I do so she needs to rely on a vessel and things she is capable of interacting with. I'm sure you'd be really possessive of certain objects too if they were your only way of communicating with the world and you'd get *furious* if someone damaged or broke those things. Dan? There's a lot of unresolved grief and anger that comes with losing everyone you love, your entire emotional support network to the arbitrary decisions of the universe and blaming it on something as dumb as cheating a standardized test and getting a new support group doesn't automatically resolve that, especially when that support group *also* has a ton of issues..."
"Wait, wait, wait... You know about Dan's past?!"
"He had a panic attack when Dad caught him cheating on some kind of brain test to make sure we're sentient and stuff and just kinda... spilled everything. He and dad had a lot of long talks after that, also timeline police showed up but I don't know a lot about what happened after that, but he's getting... less murderous! Occasionally. ...Still really bitter about the time cops though."
"And you and your siblings are all... cool with it..?"
"Yeah, why wouldn't we be? Ghost from another timeline that possessed a stillborn fully human clone to hide from time cops isn't too weird considering everybody else in the Masters clan... Are we a dysfunctional family? Definitely. Unhinged? Some of us more than others... Overenthusiastic Drama Queens? Hell yeah! Some of us never even drop our gimmicks! Dangerous, especially when compared to the average household of regular human beings? Oh yeah." He nodded. "But evil? There's bad, we Masters can fit into the bad category, I'm not arguing against that, and then there's evil..."
"And where do you draw the line between the two?"
"Bad people do things solely for their own benefit or do things out of proportion to hurt those who hurt them. While they do things that are hurtful to themselves and or others, it's not without purpose, there's motives behind why they do what they do and how they act, lines they won't cross, feeling remorse for what they do at times... Evil people? They also do things solely for their own benefit or do things out of proportion to hurt those who hurt them. Sometimes there's motives and explanations but those are optional with evil people, unlike with bad people, evil people have no lines they wont cross to get what they want. Evil people don't feel remorse at all... Some of them even relish in the pain they inflict to others..."
"Okay..." Tucker uncomfortably fidgeted as he thought of how to steer the conversation to something less grim before he noticed the 'A nice place to live' billboard. "We made it back to Amity already!? What type of horsepower do you have under that hood?"
"Standard engine I think, the *real* horsepower comes from ghost power." Brutus chuckled before checking the map. "...Do you guys mind if I drop you off at the Nasty Burger? I don't know where you live."
"Oh yeah, sure."
"Cool." Brutus nodded in acknowledgement as he pulled up to the restaurant, letting the trio out. "Also, can you do me a favor and not tell my dad or siblings I dropped you off..? Getting grounded is easier than being the only sibling *not* grounded."
"Sure thing, and thanks for the ride!" Danny waved the ghost truck off as the only one of his new strange cousins he liked so far started his long drive home.
After Brutus was gone, Danny returned his friends to their perspective homes and made it back to his own, flopping on his bed and ready to spend the dawning Saturday sleeping through the entire weekend.
Write a fic where Vlad has a kid
Biological
Adopted
au where Dani is his half-ghost child he loves,
A full-ghost (lots of room here)
Maybe the other clones survive too so he has 5 kids now
the other clones are intelligent so he has 4 kids and no need to make a prime clone
kidnapping
Wishes for a kid and Desiree grants his wish
maybe he has a pet goat

Let's Fight Tonight
Tumblr media
Pairing: Jack Kline X Reader (she/her), side Destiel, side Claire X Kaia
Warnings: guns, fake death (as in no one actually dies but take care if you are sensitive to that kinda stuff), some making out
Word Count: 1,277
Summary: what says romance better than a good old battle where you're guarding your loved one's back?
A/N: beta'ed by the lovely @ohwowimlonley (so I'm blaming typos on her (no I don't))
Tumblr media
Outraged shouts and guns going off filled the air.
"Jack!" Y/N whisper-shouted as she spotted the boy crouching behind a bookcase, gun pressed close to his body. He was unharmed though he turned and aimed at her with inhuman speed before recognition passed over his face.
Relief followed soon after. "They didn't get to you yet?"
"I'm faster than I look."
Jack nodded grimly and made to speak but stopped short and dragged her to the ground with him.
Moments later, his gun was going off at someone behind Y/N. Maniac laughter told them that Jack had missed though. Gabriel. He had been on Y/N's heels since this all began. Got Claire with a shot in the back before Y/N could save her. Jody would never let her hear the end of it for that - or Claire for that matter.
"Shit," Y/N voiced what they both were thinking when more footsteps approached, "any plans?"
"Shoot and hope?" Jack supplied. So pretty much their entire tactic for the day. And it had been supposed such a quiet day, spending time with people your own age for once. Oh what had become of that?
Yeah whatever. Wasn't like it would kill them or anything. "One last kiss?"
Jack smiled softly at the request and leaned over to press their lips together. His hand slid around her neck for just a moment and squeezed gently.
"I love you," Y/N breathed against his lips. She leaned their foreheads together as the steps grew louder, savouring the feeling of tender closeness before the fight would take them.
They had just gotten to their feet - standing with their backs to the bookshelf with just enough space between them to give the other room to fight - when a familiar voice echoed through the library.
"Told ya kids you can't win." Dean was coming from the left while Cas was rounding in on them from the right.
Both of them were walking the self assured walk of a warrior ready to take the win; their guns raised in perfect unison at the couple. Dean and his angel weren't here to take prisoners.
So Y/N and Jack had to be faster.
"What makes you think that?" Y/N stepped forward and deliberately drew their attention on her.
Worked like a charm too. Dean huffed, a smirk dancing over his face. "Oh I don't know maybe the fact the we've got you cornere-"
The hunter went down with a surprised sputter when Jack hit him straight in the chest.
And then all hell broke loose.
Sam - having heard his brother going down from some other part of the bunker - was suddenly right there, Gabriel at his side, and attacking Jack.
Meanwhile Castiel had turned towards Y/N who was determined to keep her stand next to her boyfriend. If they were going down, they were doing it together.
Guns were abandoned for fists and legs as the proximity didn't allow them, lest they wanted to accidentally hit someone on their team.
One shove sent Y/N to the ground, slithering to where Dean was laying. A grave mistake.
His hand was a vice around her ankle and pinned her to the ground with him. And here she had been thinking that he had been out already.
Jack - sweet Jack - noticed Y/N's peril almost immediately and bit and clawed his way over to her. "Leave her alone!"
"Yeah Dean-o no cheating," Gabriel sing-songed unexpectedly from the sidelines.
Wait, why wasn't anyone attacking them?
A glance to the prowl near the bookshelf confirmed Y/N's greatest hopes. Alex and Kaia were holding their own against two of the greatest hunters/warriors she knew. And that was saying a lot. Hell, they even were holding Gabriel back somehow - though he seemed more entertained than actually struggling.
Hey, whatever got them to the win.
Only that Dean had used her moment of observation to press his gun into her back.
"You tell me what you did to Charlie or I will pull the trigger," Dean threatened, his attention on Jack.
"You should be dead," Jack retorted and aimed again.
Which made Dean press harder. Y/N laughed. "You wanna know what happened to Charlie?"
She used the fracture of a second where his grip loosened and swung her free leg over his body.
"I shot her."
And then she shot Dean as well. This time, he stayed down.
"Dean!" Castiel lunged without thinking when he heard the body hit the ground for good.
His mistake.
Kaia took the opening as it was and shot him just as Alex got Gabriel.
Now only Sam was standing. With four victory high young adults turning towards him. He hadn't had the slightest of chance. He had been one of their best teachers after all.
"We won." The statement uttered with a sense of wonder came from Kaia. Her eyes were trained on the bodies around her, then slowly lifted to her team. Where one was missing.
"We did." Y/N nodded, a huge grin taking over her face.
They actually defeated them! A bunch of kids!
Jack was a step further already. Laughing freely. Without so much as warning, he drew her in and kissed her once again - in front of all of their family and friends. With tongue.
Y/N did not squak.
"Alright alright, game over, we do not need to see that," Claire said in that voice that clearly aimed for I-am-so-annoyed-with-my-little-brother-that-isn't-actually-related-to-me but didn't quite catch on that she was supposed to be, y'know, actually annoyed for that.
And with that, the spell was broken. Kaia flew into her arms, laughing and berating her for letting Gabriel get the drop on her.
Tumblr media
"I still can't believe that you mojoed me to that damn floor," Dean grumbled and pointed his beer bottle at Gabriel.
The archangel in question was not impressed in the slightest bit and shrugged with his trademark shit eating grin. "Hey, you were cheating, I had to do something."
"I was not." Dean huffed indignant, "Jack missed."
"He didn't miss, I saw the freaking lights," Y/N stated as she re-entered the room. Beer bottles and glasses full of other beverages were handed to the grabby fingers of her friends.
They all let Dean complain some more while Jack pulled Y/N in his lap and rested his chin on her shoulder. This right there was his family. And Y/N loved it with all the parts that weren't already consumed by Jack.
The easy teasing that followed the aftermath of their laser-tag adventures was not-so-surprisingly aimed mainly at the adults.
"You're just a sore loser," Claire said and added smugly, "and still got shot the second time around."
"Yeah that was just sad to watch." Alex laughed and stretched out on her part of the sofa.
"At least I didn't get shot in the back."
"You really wanna go there Dean?" Charlie quipped, "your angel coming to your rescue?"
"Shut it."
Dean was getting grumpier by the second. It made Y/N want to tease him until he was as red as a tomato. But she was pretty comfortable right here with Jack and she didn't want one of his dads throwing her out for being giggly, thank you very much.
Turned out that she didn't even have to do anything to fulfill her goal. All it took was Castiel to look up from his own drink solemnly, nudge Dean's leg with his and say earnestly, "But I really was attempting to come to your rescue, Dean."
And there was tomato-Dean.
"Oh we are so doing this again," Gabriel proclaimed.

Four Seasons of Father Paul HCs
Tumblr media
Spring
As soon as the flowers start blooming again, he’s bringing you whatever he can manage to scrounge from the neighbors’ gardens.
Before you two were anything official - before he’d even confessed his feelings for you - he tried giving you up for Lent. He failed miserably and ended up confessing the next day. It’s the only time he’s failed on giving something up for Lent.
Paul personally hides all of the eggs for the church Easter egg hunt.
He finds every excuse to talk to you at the spring festival. He knows he can’t be at your side all the time in public, but that doesn’t stop him from trying to catch your eye every time he can. Erin’s the first to notice, giving you a little nudge and telling you to just go talk to him already, he looks like a sad kitten that’s just had a bath.
So you do, and you end up spending the rest of the day together. People start to talk, but Bev thinks her efforts to get you more involved in the church are working. She’s not totally wrong...
Summer
The first time you see him out in public not dressed like a priest is at the beach. That’s when you find out he has a tiny tattoo he and a bunch of his seminary classmates all got before taking their vows. Unless you knew from other things before.
Summer means the general store has soft serve ice cream again, which means the two of you can go for ice cream dates, walking around the island. Surely people have started putting things together by now, right?
Y’all take so many walks on the beach that the rectory is constantly filled with sand, no matter how much he tries to clean. It’s worth it, though.
He’ll try to find rocks that match the color of your eyes like that one tumblr post. He’s also obsessed with finding the rare scraps of sea glass that wash up on the beach and will collect them all for you. He wants to make them into something to decorate the rectory with, but he can never decide what.
Summer means baseball season. This means baseball game dates on the mainland. It’s one of the few times Paul doesn’t have to hide how much he loves you. He’ll buy you whatever snacks you want and hold your hand during the game, but he’ll want to stay for the entire thing... which means if the game ends after the last ferry leaves, you’re ~stuck~ on the mainland together, oh no :)
Fall
Paul’s a big fan of all the baked goods fall has to offer. He starts a church bake sale, which you gladly help out with.
Pumpkin patch dates on the mainland followed by pumpkin carving in the rectory. He’s mastered the basic pumpkin carving designs and will make a bunch of jack-o-lanterns purely because they annoy Bev, who thinks Halloween is a heathen holiday.
He loves handing out Halloween candy at the church. He never wears complicated costumes, just a pair of cat ears or something. You definitely take pictures and keep telling him how cute they make him look.
He tried going as a ghost once, but the sheet he picked was way too short on him. And he didn’t cut any holes for his eyes so he definitely tripped on the church steps.
Thanksgiving is a quiet affair. He’ll go to visit your family or you’ll have your own little dinner on the island, but every year, you’re what he’s most thankful for.
Winter
Even though Easter and its miracles are supposed to be his favorite, he loves Christmas even more. He decorates the rectory with so many lights that Wade has to tell him to tone it down so he doesn’t overload the power grid.
He personally directs the Christmas pageant every year. He lets whoever plays the angel Gabriel borrow his spare gold chasuble (much to Bev’s distain, but it was her fault for ordering one that was too short on him anyway).
He’ll bake dozens of cookies so you can decorate them together, and then hand them out after Mass. He gets flour and sugar all over the rectory, and somehow he always ends up getting icing in his hair.
He’s constantly playing Christmas songs as soon as Thanksgiving is over. When they’re not on the radio, he’s singing them in the shower or humming them as he works.
He’ll definitely hang mistletoe in the rectory to have an excuse to kiss you, not that he needs one.
He’s got a collection of ugly Christmas sweaters and will buy other ugly holiday sweaters if you celebrate a different winter holiday. He also refuses to acknowledge that they’re ugly and will wear them everywhere.
If you have kids, his favorite part of Christmas is sneaking presents “from Santa” under the tree for them in the middle of the night.

he smiled back at august, nodding, " they are. " his family meant so much to him, he hadn't hesitated to speak so warmly of them in all his time in transylvania, he had missed them after all, every moment that matteo didn't find himself too engrossed with his host. " I hope your journey wasn't too bad, I did try to make sure you had the best, " the arrangements were made weeks in advance, but he'd had little to no contact with august after his journey began and he'd had his concerns that the man may not arrive at all until he'd finally heard from august again. he reached beneath the table, brushing his fingers against august's hand, " do you like the house we picked out? it's-- nothing compared to what you had back home, but... "
" ah, well, this is a nice enough place to start. " everybody seemed focused on their own individual conversations and that was just fine for him, it gave gabriel a moment to actually sit with his thoughts. his thoughts that had him studying dakota's features as if he knew him already, but that couldn't be. gabriel had travelled many places over the years, but nowhere close to transylvania. " sorry, " he breathed a chuckle when dakota seemed to notice his lingering gaze, " you jus'-- seem familiar, but maybe you jus' remind me of someone, I don't know. "
joshua hummed, " I'm sure it's quite the show, " his smile barely wavered as he drank her in. in this lighting, at close proximity, she truly was just as he remembered. he had to stop himself, the sudden, intense to desire to reach out and touch her had joshua second guessing whether his decision to remain at her side was a wise one. " forgive me for staring, " he breathed, " you're very beautiful. "
louis had spent the evening arguing with niki, getting involved with other vampires was a risk, letting them know who they were, what they were, especially with the knowledge that they were outnumbered was reckless. he was a lot more on edge seeing riley's interest, even if he felt the initial attraction to the other. nikhar was a lot more positive, and didn't seem to care what the result was, or maybe this was simply his revenge for louis' outburst about their life together being dull as of late.
nikhar knew louis would be pouting, but maybe it was a good idea to meet other vampires, maybe it was wise to make friends where they could with their own species before they killed one another. his attention rested solely on the striking shelby, lips curving into an easy smile, " that's quite the journey, " he hummed. the vampire couldn't help the laugh that left his lips at that, " oh yes, plenty of life here. " his eyes lifted to the door when he heard the scuff of a shoe on the pavement, " watch out for this one, " he warned, just as the doorbell rang, and jack made his way inside, passing off his jacket to the butler with a rushed apology for why he was late.
Tumblr media
august smiled even if he didn't respond . he was quite taken with matteo and he was sure that was obvious the other . the two were quite attached at the hip before and maybe august had been partially worried that the distance would have changed something but it was clear that it hadn't . they moved into the dining room and august pulled out matteo's chair before taking a seat . " your family seems lovely , " august spoke as he looked back at matteo . " although , from what you've spoken of them , i didn't expect anything less . "
it seemed to be a reflect that gabriel pulled the chair out for dakota and the vampire didn't hesitate to sit . he half wondered if gabriel felt anything no matter how faint . " august likes to venture , " dakota hummed , " thought a change of scenery might do us all some good . "
amusement touched kieran's eyes , " wait until you see us go at it . " they were all usually on their best behavior and their dramatics weren't always directed at each other . kieran's , usually , was directed at jack but he was currently absent . " thank you , " she spoke with a smile , not unaware of joshua's close proximity to her .
riley's gaze eventually drifted from nikhar to louis . he really was a pretty thing , the vampire couldn't deny that . they eventually moved toward the dining room , " transylvania , " they spoke simply . it was home , as far as riley was concerned , but they weren't complaining about the move . " this place is a little more lively . "

Samwena Fanfic Preview
I’m still shocked that AO3 only has 501 Sam/Rowena fics at the time I’m writing this... and that’s including those that only have background Samwena. So I’m sharing a sneak peek of the first ~2000 words of my Sam/Rowena story with other Samwena enthusiasts. Maybe the preview can bring some excitement to someone out there—and some peace to me because today seems to be one of those days where my anxiety is spiking. Please be kind, I’m just a little bit terrified of hitting the “Post” button for this. Pairings: Sam/Rowena, Sam&Rowena friendship No secondary pairing. Other SPN characters’ involvement will be minimal, so far only a phone call with Dean. Rating: so far undecided (but the 2000 word excerpt here is teen-rated) Words: so far 17,500, but it’s far from finished. This story is not posted to AO3 yet. Tags: post-ep 13x19 “Funeralia”, Magic, Curses, Witches, Action & Adventure, Angst, Hurt/Comfort, Emotional Hurt/Comfort, Sam POV, Rowena POV
Written for the prompt “Fool’s Gold” of the SPN RarePairTober, which I’m hopelessly late for. Story of my life.
Summary: Rowena shows up at the bunker after she has been targeted by a custom-made, lethal curse with the sole goal of destroying her. Under the shadow of this ticking timer of doom, she and Sam are left with a handful of days to prevent a slow, painful death. The search for a cure sees them on a last-minute flight to Central America.
A Metal Pursued by the Witless
Sneak Peek of the first 2000 words of Chapter 1
Sam
Sam sighed, feeling exhausted beyond the stinging in his eyes from too many hours of staring at the computer screen. All of it felt so… pointless when every lead they had on Gabriel turned out to be nothing but a dead end. Not even Rowena had been able to find the archangel, and Dean and Cas were on their way back from the latest road to nowhere, which left Sam alone in the company of his laptop and his own misery. He usually embraced the quiet, but right now it was far too loud.
It was impossible to focus when his thoughts kept spiraling back to all sorts of nightmares that their mom and Jack might be going through in that exact second. They were out there, fighting a war in a doomed universe, and there was nothing Sam could do about it. Nothing other than dig through that corner of the internet for anything angelic, with more alien sightings and 'My dog is the reincarnation of Elvis' posts than his sanity could handle right now.
Frustrated, he slid his laptop closed and pushed it away from himself to the other end of the table. He rubbed two fingers over the bridge of his nose in a futile attempt of releasing some tension. The cold wind outside howled along the bunker's outer wall and Sam breathed out a bitter chuckle at the thought that this was the perfect soundtrack to his life. All of this was on him. He'd made the call to return Gabriel's grace, naive enough to believe the archangel would side with them in return. As if Sam's willingness to trust in the good in people hadn't screwed them over enough times already. He—
Someone hammered against the bunker's door with all the urgency of another Apocalypse.
Sam got to his feet and climbed up the stairs with a frown, considering and discarding several possibilities of who he'd find on the other side of that thick layer of metal. Dean wouldn't forget the key, and there was no way Cas would ever knock like this. For an insane moment, Sam conjured the mental image of their mom and Jack being back home, just like that, no questions asked.
When the old hinges finally shrieked open in a gust of dried leaves, what greeted Sam was the sight of windswept red.
"Rowena?" he asked, not even trying to hide his surprise. "I, uh, I didn't expect you so soon after—"
Something on her face let the tiny smile die on his lips before it ever had a chance to exist.
No wisecrack, no flirtation. Not even an insult. This couldn't be good, Sam thought as he took in the wide-eyed look the witch directed his way. She seemed impossibly small wrapped in that long coat, another icy gust of wind pulling at her hair.
After a hurried glance back over her shoulder, she inhaled in the way one did before making grave statements. Sam waited patiently for whatever this was. Then she suddenly seemed to think better of it and simply shoved her way past him into the bunker.
"Sure, come on in," Sam commented sarcastically, lifting one of his hands with a palm upwards that said, 'Not like people in this bunker usually care what I think either.'
He could pinpoint the exact moment she seemed to come to a decision at the bottom of the stairs, squaring her shoulders before turning to look back up at him.
"Samuel," she said and attempted a smile that was nothing but a pale shadow of her usual air of grandiosity. "You see, there I was, enjoying a vanilla foam bath, when I thought to myself… I thought a seasoned witch like yours truly, with such considerable power…"
Her eyes lingered on the still open bunker door and Sam could swear he saw a flash of fear in them that Rowena masked quickly with another bright smile.
Sam narrowed his eyes, allowing the door to fall closed while noting the way Rowena's shoulders sank down in relief as soon as it sealed shut with a bang.
"I thought it was an affront that someone like me," she continued, undeterred. "...would be done in by a wee tracking spell!"
Fine, he'd play. By now Sam was absolutely sure that what she wasn't saying held the real information, so it took him a moment to process what had been said.
"Wait a second," he asked carefully, still not quite sure what to make of any of this. "Does that mean there's still hope to—to track Gabriel? You want to… try again?"
"There's no harm in trying, aye?" she asked, seemingly having recovered from whatever it was she wasn't telling him because the smile reached her eyes again.
"Uh, I mean, sure. And I appreciate you came all this way out here to try again, I do. But…" Sam frowned. "Didn't you say on the phone that Gabriel was too low on grace to give a blip on your radar? Especially without any belonging of his to lock onto?"
"Och, today's a new day! New chances, and all that."
Sam followed Rowena to the map table where she deposited her purse on one of the chairs. He watched as she dug out a crystal ball to place on the table. Only when she started hovering her hands over the glass sphere did Sam notice that she still hadn't taken off her coat or even the long black silken gloves concealing her hands and forearms.
"Ostende mihi illum quem quaero,"¹ Rowena chanted, the Latin easily flowing off her tongue in a way that Sam admired. He still felt awkward sometimes when he needed to pronounce the dead language instead of just reading it silently on a page, unsure if he truly got it right.
The glass ball remained dark.
Sam threw a surprised look Rowena's way, seeing her mutter something under her breath. For a reason he couldn't figure out, she removed only one of her gloves, returning the now uncovered hand to the glass sphere. Then her gloved hand shot out to grasp Sam's, leading it to the opposite side of the crystal ball.
"You've met Gabriel before, I haven't," she stated simply, holding his gaze as she repeated the incantation.
Sam felt a tingling sensation on his palm and the glass sphere flared to life, throwing a purple glow over the map table's North American continent. Rowena hissed suddenly as if in pain and Sam saw her pull the gloved hand back to her body. The purple glow began to flicker and fade.
"Focus, Samuel," Rowena admonished without averting her gaze from the crystal ball, and Sam cleared his throat hastily. He concentrated on the memory of Gabriel on the upper floor of the bunker, eyes glowing and the shadows of wings spread behind him.
The glow inside the glass sphere shifted from purple to blue, but then it died as abruptly as the hope he'd allowed himself to feel for a short moment.
"I'm sorry, Sam. I think your archangel," Rowena said in genuine regret, placing the crystal ball back into her purse, "doesn't want to be found."
"Yeah, that—he, um, he kind of left in a hurry," Sam explained, a miserable smile tugging at one corner of his mouth in the memory of his misjudgment.
Rowena glanced up at the bunker's exit door, then closed her eyes with a quiet sigh while fumbling with the loose glove between her fingers.
Sam decided the time for some truth had come.
"What's with the, um, the gloves?" he asked and saw the hesitation on Rowena's face before the smile that didn't reach her eyes returned.
"Only the finest silk. Imported, of course."
Sam huffed out a breath with an annoyed sidewards glance, pressing his lips together. Of course it wouldn't be that easy.
"That's—that's not what I meant. But I think you know that." He looked directly into her face, waiting until she finally met his eyes again. "Rowena," he implored softly. "Tell me what's going on?"
She hesitated again, longer this time, before averting her gaze to the table.
"Nothing," she replied in a not very subtle attempt of deflection. "Just that failing a simple tracking spell isn't the best for a witch's reputation."
"Rowena, I thought we'd moved past this," Sam said quietly, surprised at himself that he felt actual hurt over her refusal to tell him the truth. "After everything, do you really trust me so little?"
"You're the only one I trust," she objected instantly, followed by a look of utter shock at her own words.
Sam swallowed through the silence, touched by the visible truthfulness of the admission.
A chuckle suddenly burst out of her. "I must be mad, saying this to the one who's going to kill me. Out of all the people in the world."
His stomach sank at the reminder of that prophecy, the phantom touch of his pistol's trigger still burning on his fingers.
"For what it's worth," he said, clearing his throat another time to get rid of the taste of guilt. "I do not want to kill you. Never have, actually."
The genuine smile playing around Rowena's mouth just confirmed how truly deranged his life was for this to count as a compliment.
He reached for her gloved hand, slowly enough for her to pull away if she wanted. She let him.
"Do you want to know what I felt when you stopped that bullet?" he asked, and Rowena inclined her head in silent question.
"Relief," he stressed, and peeled the glove off her arm. The sight of what he found let the fabric slip from his fingers and sink to the ground. Where before there had been dark silk, he now saw dark-gray skin, dried out like something that had withered a while ago.
"Wh—what…," Sam stammered, unthinking.
"I had nowhere else to go," Rowena stated, the slightest shiver in her voice.
"What happened?"
"This bunker is the safest place I know," she continued, as if that had anything to do with his question.
"Rowena, who did this to you? Was it Lu—"
"Time," she said before he had a chance to finish pronouncing that name, and her smile was at odds with the terrified expression in her eyes. "It seems my past has finally caught up with me."
For the second time within a few minutes, Sam felt his stomach lurch.
"What, how—wait a second, why is this happening now? Your hands were fine two days ago!"
"It appears that the unrest in Hell set free an old enemy of mine. Olivette," she spit out the name with audible disdain. "Calls herself 'High Priestess'. She not only reassembled what's left of the Grand Coven, she somehow found enough fresh blood to bring it back to power. Not quite what it used to be, but enough to—"
Rowena cut herself off, swallowing as she picked up the fallen glove and put it back in place over her arm. She still seemed to be able to move the affected hand, though it looked far less dextrous than her other one.
"They—they ambushed me," she continued in a faraway voice, her gaze glued to her hand. "Those cowards didn't dare to face me in an open fight because they knew I'm the most powerful of them all. So they lay in wait with a curse on the doorstep of my hotel room. Ever since I passed the room's threshold, my body is no longer responding to life magic. And they're still there, cutting me off from all my belongings but the few things I've left in my handbag. I barely got away."
"Rowena, why didn't you say so right away? You can—you can stay here. We got supplies, whatever you need to break this curse."
"Curses are intricate magic. Only their creator knows the balance between the curse and the cure woven into its very fabric. Sam…," she said, and the gravity of the situation started to dawn on him when wetness rose in Rowena's eyes. "Unraveling this, it might take years. It's—it's time I don't have."
"How long do we have to fix this?"
"Judging by the current rate of progression..." She swallowed, then breathed out, "mere days." ¹: Show me whom I want.

Part 2 to the supernatural MBAV crossover ✌️ Also this is on crack so I’m sorry in advance. Lol.
“Oh my gosh, Jack! We’ve been living here for two weeks! Do you know what that means?! We actually live here.” Y/N said excitedly.
“Yeah. I like it here I hope we stay awhile.”
“I have a boyfriend now! Do you know how cool that is?”
“You what?!” Dean exclaimed.
“Don’t eavesdrop! It’s none of your concern.”
“Yes it is. I’m your dad!”
“Moms handle the boys and the periods, and she promised me she’d visit sometime this week, so therefore, it’s none of your concern.”
“Since when have you had contact with Amara?”
“Since like a month ago. Uncle Chuck taught her about the world of cellphones. She promised she’d drop by for at least an hour. You don’t think she’s going to flake on me do you?” Tears welled up in her eyes. Dean held his arms out for a hug.
“Hey, come here, kid. Your mom has done a lot of bad things, but if there’s one thing I know for sure about her, it’s that she never says something unless she means it. Now about the boyfriend thing…”
“His name is Benny, he likes Star Wars, and he’s a calculus nerd. Good enough?”
“Come on Dean. Calculus nerd? You have nothing to worry about.” Sam chimed in.
“Yeah, I guess you’re right, Sammy.”
“Does that mean that me and Jack can go hang out with him and our other friends tonight?” Y/N asked hopefully, putting on the puppy eyes she had inherited from her uncle.
“Fine, but don’t be out any later than 1 am okay?”
“Got it. Would you be mad if we left right now?”
“No. It’s fine. Go ahead, but Jack she is not to be left in a room alone with this punk. Got it? Good.”
Y/N rolled her eyes. “Drama queen.” She muttered.
“I heard that!”
“Good!”
All of their friends had already arrived by the time they got there. The only thing missing was pizza.
“Dude the delivery guy was so slow last time though. Someone should just go get it. I’m starving.” Ethan complained.
“Not it.” Y/N and Erica said at the same time. Benny and Jack both looked at Sarah.
“Um…don’t look at me. I’m babysitting.” She gestured to Jane who was sitting peacefully watching Dusk.
“I’ll go.” Jack volunteered. Y/N tossed him the keys to the Jeep.
“Don’t wreck my baby.” She said sternly, laying on the floor beside Jane.
“Careful. You sound like your dad.” Jack joked. Y/N threw a pillow at him.
“Okay. Okay. I’m going.”
“So this Dusk thing, what is it even about?” Y/N asked. Erica immediately jumped in.
“Oh my god. It is so good. You’ve never seen Dusk? It’s about a human who falls in love with a vampire and vice versa, but there’s also this werewolf that’s in love with the girl, but she ends up choosing the vampire because, duh, she’s in love with him, but anyways it’s so good and you have to watch all of them with me some time.”
“I’ve seen the Vampire Diaries but I’ve never watched this.”
“Oh my God. Don’t you just love the Salvatore brothers?”
“I love Damon, but I’m not huge on Stefan. Oh and Katherine is so hot, but my favorites are Kol and Kai.”
“You have a thing for murderers with sociopath tendencies and you’re dating Benny?” Erica asked.
“Okay, just leave me alone. Kai is hot and he had reason to murder his entire family.” Literally the entire room was just looking back and forth between them in confusion.
“Remind me to never leave you two alone.” Sarah said.
“Did you just say murdered his entire family casually in a sentence?” Benny asked.
“Yes. If you guys watched the show you would totally get it. Although Jack doesn’t and I made him watch it but then again his biological dad is literally satan-“
“Wait. Wait. Wait. First of all, Castiel isn’t his biological dad? Second of all what is his biological father a serial killer or something?” Ethan asked.
That was when Y/N registered what she had said. “It’s not my place to tell you guys about his biological dad, so like please don’t tell him I told you anything.”
Everyone agreed and dropped it. Soon after Jack came back with the pizza. “Who’s hungry?”
“I am.” Erica whispered passive aggressively under her breath. Sarah elbowed her and gave her a look, mouthing the words shut up.
Benny, Ethan, Jack, and Jane all grabbed a slice.
“Want one?” Benny asked.
“No I’m fine. Thanks though.” Y/N said. Her mood had noticeably dropped, and it was because she was thinking of her mother. What if she didn’t come like she’d promised? Well, at least her cousin Gabriel promised a visit soon, despite her father’s protest.
“Hey what’s wrong?” Sarah asked her.
“It’s stupid. My mom told me that she was going to visit me sometime this week, but I’m worried she won’t show up.” At that very moment Amara appeared in the room. Now there was a lot of explaining to be done.
“Holy shit! Who are you and how did you do that?!” Ethan exclaimed.
“Wow. Gorgeous alert.” Erica said, ignoring the fact that a woman she didn’t know had just appeared out of nowhere. Y/N immediately jumped up and hugged her.
“I missed you, mom.” She muttered into her hair.
“Mom?!” They all asked at once.
“Woah. Woah. Woah. So what are you then?” Benny asked.
“Why are you guys not very freaked out about this?” Jack asked.
“We know about the supernatural, but nothing like this.” Ethan said still in shock.
“So, you made friends? I’m proud of you. How’s your dad doing?” Amara said.
“Same old. Same old. Sad, confused, protective.”
“Wait how do you guys know about the supernatural?” Jack asked ignoring the side conversation.
“That depends. How do you feel about vampires, warlocks, and seers?” Benny asked.
“Wait! You’re vampires?!” Y/N exclaimed suddenly.
“Not all of us. Just Erica and Sarah.” Ethan said.
“You guys haven’t even the ones killing people have you, because that would suck because then I’d have to kill you.”
“No, but really?! Kill us?!” Sarah exclaimed.
“My family hunts the supernatural! You guys have got to stay on the downlow or my dad and my uncle will straight up kill you and not think twice, please be careful!”
“Are warlocks on that list?” Benny asked.
“Wait, you’re a waflock and you didn’t tell me?!”
“We still don’t know what you two are and I think I speak for everyone when I say I would like to know!”
Y/N sighed. This would be a long conversation. She took in a deep breath. “So, my dad is the vessel of the archangel Michael aka the person Michael needed to possess to win the apocalypse which already happened by the way. My dad kind of saved the world. My Uncle Sam on the other hand is the vessel of Lucifer who is Jack’s biological dad which makes Jack a nephilim, and by the way Lucifer is actually pretty chill. But that’s beside the point. This is Amara my mom aka the darkness aka god’s sister which kind of makes me a Demigod which makes god aka Chuck my uncle and Lucifer, Michael and Gabriel my cousins which makes Jack my second cousin and also by the way Castiel is an angel too. Oh and also my dad is kind of gay for Cas but neither of them will admit but you know, subtext.”
They all looked at her with wide eyes. “If you plan on sticking with me welcome to my dysfunctional family.” She announced.
“Are they okay?” Amara whispered.
“Maybe. I don’t know.” Y/N whispered back.
“Ya know what? Cool. Also can we just talk about how Y/N has hot parents? MILF alert. Like it finally makes sense why she is so pretty.” Erica said casually.
“What’s a MILF?” Amara asked her. Y/N face palmed.
“It’s good. It’s a compliment, but don’t say it to anyone , ever.” Y/N tried to explain.
“Anyways…I guess I’m gonna go and let you all process this interaction. Benny, call me. Bye!” They all left, and Y/N insisted that they take the Jeep and not just teleport.
When they got back to the house everyone kind of just looked at each other awkwardly. “Mom and I are gonna go…what do normal teenage girls do with their non supernatural mothers? Paint their nails? We’ll go do that. See you soon.”
Dean looked at Jack waiting for an explanation. “I’ve got…homework. Yeah. Anyways bye.”
“What just happened?” Sam asked.
Dean shrugged. “Don’t know. Don’t care.”

Day 12 of B&B's (@drgarth and @starrynightdeancas) Holiday Advent Calendar Event! (More Midam? On my blog? It's more likely than you think.)
Make Christmas Cards//Glitter//“With those holiday greetings and gay happy meetings”
When Adam opened the card, he was bombarded with glitter.
“Um,” he made, looking at where it had rained onto the couch, his jeans, the coffee table and the cat. Bastet sniffed and pawed at their now very sparkly ear.
“What is it?” Michael asked, manifesting himself to take Adam's hand. “It's not a spell, right?”
“No, I think it's just Jack's overflowing Christmas spirit.” Adam brushed some glitter off Bastet's fur and they purred, shifting on their blanket to cuddle up against his leg. “Whoever let the kid use glitter without supervision deserves to be decked in the face.”
“I blame Castiel,” Michael said immediately.
“Babe, you always blame him. For everything.”
Michael narrowed his eyes at him. “Well, I'm usually right.”
Adam poked his stomach. Bastet meowed, clearly unhappy that their petting was cut short for these human shenanigans.
“Well, what does the card say?” Michael asked, watching as Bastet climbed over Adam to come to him instead, trailing glitter along the way. As always, Michael immediately started petting them. It was almost comical how much this small ball of fur had the archangel wrapped around their finger.
Adam cleared his throat and started reading:
Merry Christmas Uncle Adam and Uncle Michael
He smiled at the words, and not just because of the blocky letters that looked like a six-year old had written them. (To be fair, Jack was literally four.) Adam was still getting used to being an uncle, but he figured when the little one sent you a Christmas card without being prompted, that was probably a good sign.
Michael leaned against him as Adam continued reading.
I know it's still early, but Uncle Gabriel said that we could make Christmas cards already and then we can make more for Christmas itself.
“Gabriel. That explains a lot,” Michael commented. “So Jack was supervised, just not by an actual adult.”
“Oh, shush.”
I just wanted you to know that I love our time together and I hope we can have many Christmases together in the future.
Love,
Jack
There was a smiley crudely drawn in the bottom corner of the card, but Adam could barely see it through the tears in his eyes.
“Adam? Are you okay?” Michael asked softly.
Adam sniffed. “I'm great.” He laughed wetly. Sniffed again. “Uh, I think I have something in my eye.”
“No, you don't.” Slowly, Michael wrapped his arms around him, pulling Adam against himself as much as he could without disturbing Bastet. “You have something in your soul. It's called an emotion.”
Adam laughed again. Hiccuped. “Sounds fake, but okay.” He hugged back with one arm while his other hand still held the card. “Um. I think it might be more than one emotion, actually. I don't even know...”
Michael just held him tighter. He could probably feel all of what Adam was feeling through their bond.
“I'm happy, you know. Just. The last time I got a Christmas card like this, it... you know how I told you about Ashley, my neighbour's daughter that I babysat sometimes? Um. She made me a card like that. Explosions of hearts and... and glitter.” He smiled at the memory, but at the same time a tear slipped down his cheek. “Uh, I don't know, it just reminds me of-” He swallowed thickly.
“Of what you lost,” Michael said for him, and Adam had to swallow again. It wasn't like he would have seen her that often, he told himself. Not when he'd already left for college. But maybe... well, he'd never know. He'd never see that kid again.
By now, she was probably close to college herself. Jesus Christ.
“Yeah,” Adam said, nodding. “But- but I'm happy, I mean Jack is great and I honestly didn't even think that anyone would ever care about me enough again to send me- except for you, I mean, but-”
Michael kissed the side of his face without breaking the hug. “We're both so used to being only with each other that this is overwhelming.”
Adam chuckled. “Yeah okay, but since when are you Dr. Phil?”
“Seeing my siblings again...” Michael hesitated. “And honestly, having Bastet with us...”
They both looked down at the cat, who yawned and stretched, then looked up at them expectantly. Adam scratched behind their ear.
“It's been eye-opening,” Michael finished.
They were silent for a long moment.
“We told ourselves for so long that we didn't need anyone else,” Adam said eventually.
Michael nodded. “It's difficult to adjust.”
“I mean. It's good. It's nice.” Jack was a blast and after some initial awkwardness, Adam was actually getting along pretty well with Raphael and Gabriel, too.
“Of course.” Michael brushed a hand through Adam's hair. “But that doesn't make it any less difficult.”
“Yeah.” Adam buried his face in Michael's neck. They sat like that for a lot longer than would probably have been comfortable for people who didn't have archangel juice flowing through them. Then Adam had an idea. “You know what would cheer me up?”
Michael sighed and snapped his fingers. The stereo turned to life immediately.
It's the most wonderful time of the year
Adam couldn't help smiling, knowing what was to come. But he only started singing along at his favourite line:
With those holiday greetings and gay happy meetings
As always, he didn't get any further, because he started giggling uncontrollably.
Michael sighed again. “You know he doesn't mean it like that.”
“Well, I mean it like that.” Adam grinned, tugging at the strings of Michael's hoodie as they listened to the song. “Will you do much mistletoeing with me?”
“I still don't think that's an actual verb. But...” Michael kissed him on the nose. “Yes, Addy. As much mistletoeing as you want.”
