anybody else play a cleric durge and felt like they had to come up with some ridiculous reason as to why their pc would wake up believing they worship a god that’s not bhaal? ophelia’s is “i can tell i used to worship a god and can’t remember who, but i have some sick fucking lightning powers and i love carnage destruction and chaos, so that probably means talos is my god. yeah that checks out”
and it’s just. not even fucking true. she was absolutely Not a cleric before the nautiloid, and she definitely didn’t worship talos. he just happened to fit the description
i like to think talos sees her going through this process and just decides to feed into her delusions and grant her cleric powers because he thinks it’s funny

I really shouldn’t have made my current (and general second) run of BG3 as a tempest cleric/storm sorcerer combo, because it's so damn fun that now I won’t want to play as anything else 😂🙈

okay so aoife is technically the dragonborn/a nord and noncommittal stormcloak who just wants revenge on the empire and doesn’t gaf about anything beyond that and lavinia is an unknown unrecognized mede bastard who was raised in a cult of. lord. okay this is complicated we’ll say she was raised by cultists of molag bal and later taken by cultists of dagon/mythic dawn remnants with probably obvious intent (which is when she learns her parentage) before getting exiled from cyrodiil so my impulse is to just put aoife in the tav equivalent as a half-wood elf outlander barbarian and liv as a cleric of tiamat hurhurhur. talos funny option for different reasons but no. as. uh. Also tav i guess idk which one i would put as a companion. but also consider durge!liv x tav!aoife
what if i made liv & aoife in bg3....haha just kidding.....unless.....

Q: How did you come up with your Durge?
Durge was my fourth playthrough. Before that, I had exclusively played Tiefling Barbarian Tavs, so I wanted to shake things up. I initially considered playing a Drow but none of the faces really spoke to me. Then I saw the default feminine High Elf and I just laughed aloud. I loved the idea of playing a conventionally pretty character who actually has these monstrous urges. I was mostly attracted to the potential humor in that extreme contradiction!
The irony of her character led to SO MANY comical moments in the game that it inspired me to start making comics again.
It was a fun creative challenge to reconcile the Dark Urge framework with my choices. I saw comments online saying that for Dark Urge’s story to “make sense” that they should be a big buff Paladin / Barbarian / Assassin / Fighter type. So, I instead made my Durge a High Elf Cleric of Talos! I wanted to explore how these choices would influence my take on the Dark Urge.
I was delightfully surprised by what emerged!
My Durge isn’t the biggest or scariest but she is instead very cunning and creepy. She uses people’s assumptions about her appearance to her advantage, a lot like Puss in Shrek 2, or, like Morticia in the 90s film version of the Addams family. Morticia in particular is flippant and flirty, but when her family is threatened, a switch flips and you realize she knows a lot more than she lets on. I guess I'm just a sucker for characters who subvert expectations in some way - especially to comedic effect!

they’re like if ansur and balduran were both ansur somehow. it makes sense to me but i can’t articulate it without needing to tear my hair out and lie weeping on the floor
thinking about. companion au tav/origin wyll. tav and wyll aren’t canon in either of my tav runs but i think he’s companion au tav’s soulmate. i’ve been thinking about this for Days,
#hes the heart of the gate and she’s the tempest. she gives him the support he needs to allow himself ‘selfishness’ ie not throwing his#soul away. if i had infinite resources + ability companion au tav and origin wyll could become warlocks of ansur instead of a talos cleric#/fiend warlock respectively.
