of course the archivist isn't acting how Celia would've expected, the only archivist she knew was Jon and all he really did was being emo

expanding on my previous post actually every single oiar employee (including lena) is autistic they all just have different and clashing presentations. that "weird interview" celia and sam were discussing in episode 6? yeah that was just lena attempting to give a poorly-disguised diagnostic test.

guys why would alice invite her ex and his new gf to her little brother's show? i've got a few thoughts
she's trying to keep sam from drifting off by establishing a neutral middle ground for everyone to be at, where she is still comfortable
she's lonely. she doesn't have anyone else to ask.
her brother needs the people? (not sure about this one cause it seemed packed later on in the episode but he was also asking for money so maybe she thinks he needs the people?)
this is a desperate last ditch attempt at keeping everyone together. she can feel the gap widening and she can't have that
she's also somehow keeping up appearances of unbothered by the horrors and therefore exempt from it
she's trying to establish a middle ground that is exempt from the horrors to save sam from whatever fate he might have

which would be worse, i wonder. celia never liking sam, pretending to care for him that entire time in order to get him to the hilltop centre. or that celia genuinely did like him, but didn't like him enough to not betray him.

ok so first of all samalice full-blown argument was. incredible. and very enlightening. but then the fact that sam went RIGHT to celia?? who, having heard the whole argument and seen that he was very emotionally charged in that moment, immediately redirected him to the magnus institute and gave him a vital crumb of information?? why did she choose right then, when he was venting about alice, to tell him that?? she constantly seems to be driving a wedge between him and alice + handing him the tools he needs to dig himself a deeper hole. I just want to know WHY.

So Alice being standoffish and generally rather rude towards Celia cause she's essentially a jealous ex is cute n ok
But Sam being annoyed and exhausted [& therefore rude] when his ex [who is implied to have a history of using slightly-less-moral methods to try and get him to stop chasing his obsessions] was once again seemingly using less-than-moral methods (lying) to once again stop him from chasing after his obsession is just rude and 'I can't defend you for this one'. Bro.

yeah i think i am going to have to push back real hard on this notion of the show not being fully aware of how scummy xander's crush on buffy is, because the fact that we are CONSTANTLY shown how he is screwing over willow with his myopic buffy obsession delineates exactly how we are supposed to see him! he spends all of this time in season one going "woe is me, i'm the victim, buffy has no idea i exist" while literally creating the exact same situation for willow. he accuses buffy of being jealous of him when in actuality we see him get jealous of any boy willow's into and trying to ruin things for her the minute she's not haplessly pining over him!
idk i just have often seen this rhetoric of xander being terrible specifically BECAUSE the narrative excuses his behavior, and i think it is more complicated than that? xander is being terrible in ways that are consistent and apparent and intentional, but because the show is steeped in misogyny, there is not an awareness re: how to actually write the arc that he needs to make him not terrible (one about him figuring out how to redefine his relationship to masculinity) and the attempts to make him grow are halfhearted and poorly conceived/constructed. we get the skeleton of a storyline that is never brought to completion.

Did anyone else notice that while Celia promised she wasn't spying on Georgie 'for any government, secret society, or other organizations (or aliens)', she never actually said she wasn't spying on her at all?
