I imagine teen Portia as this serious, responsible but low-key playful girl. She doesn't like society's expectations on her, but she deals with it the best she can because she knows there's no escape, so she tries to make the best out of it. She's cunning, gentle and no-bullshit type of person. She can curse at people in such a graceful manner that they rarely notice it's an offensive comment. She has a talent for numbers and helps her father with finantial issues. Despite her resignation to her status in society, she secretly dreams of creating her own bussiness and become rich enough so that her parents don’t need to marry her off, and she’s determined to do it. She has a brother, but their relationship is not really the warmest and Portia kinda resents him for being the heir despite not being suited. Her mother is a rather cold woman, who sees her children as chores she had to fulfill, and treating Portia as an extension of herself, constantly pushing her to be a perfect lady to feel better about her own misery.
We’ve already seen teen Violet in Queen Charlotte, but I’ll add my headcanons anyway. She’s pretty much like in the series, but her and Portia become friends shortly after their debut. Violet admires Portia’s intelligence and determination, and Portia sees Violet’s cheerful personality and passion like a puff of fresh air. They both discuss political matters, their hobbies, the inclusion of black people into society with Charlotte and drink tea together. They become inseparable, like twins, and soon enough, the friendship starts to blossom into something deeper.
Portia realizes she likes women. She always had the suspicion, but now with Violet, the truth is hardly in her face. She doesn’t know how to feel about it. It’s wrong, forbidden, shameful, but it feels so good and sweet. Violet brings light into her life and makes her heart pump so fast she feels dizzy. How can she give up on this, on the only good thing that has come to her life?
Meanwhile, Violet awakens her yandereism with Portia. She’s always been possessive of her, but recently, it has been worse. She can’t stop thinking about Portia. She’s the prettiest girl in her eyes, the smartest, the funniest. She’s perfect for her. They belong with each other. The mere thought of someone else enjoying her company, delighting on her voice, touching her soft skin, makes her blood boil in such ways that it even scares her at first. This feelings tune down a bit when she meets Edmund, who’s just like her. He’s the only person that understands this dark impulse, and so she grows to love him too.
But their happiness must come to an end. Portia’s family is in ruins because of her mother’s wastes, and now the woman has ran away with a lover of hers, leaving her family behind with all the chaos. In a desesperate attempt to clean the scandal and recover their prestige, Portia’s father marries her off to Baron Archibald Featherington, a man barely younger than him, without asking her of course. Portia almost doesn’t have time to process everything; her mother’s abandonment, her family’s ruin, her new marriage, and she runs to the only person that she feels can comfort her, Violet. Maybe confess her feelings and both running away together.
Only to see the girl in Edmund Bridgerton’s company. Both of them laughing, playing around and clearly enjoying each other. Portia feels her heart break once again. She’s not stupid. She knows what she’s seeing. And so she turns back where she came from.
She tries to make the best ouf her situation and focus on her new role as baroness. She quickly notices her husband is useless when it comes to money, so she takes care of it. It’s a cold comfort, but the duty distracts her. She’s no longer considered a young lady, but a full woman now, and that changes things. Her friendship with Violet becomes strained, mostly on her part, but it still stands and Violet is the only friend she has now.
When news of Edmund and Violet’s marriage reach her ears, she decides it’s time to stop. To save herself more heartbreak and just accept what she has now. And so the years pass, they have children, but while Violet’s were conceived out love and passion, Portia had no choice. It was another duty for her.
This is the reason she became a villainess in the future. Spite, resentment, overall bad luck, and maybe some sabotage from outside parties (that’s another headcanon of mine I won’t dig on now)

wolfpack. aka: if not friend, then why friend-shaped?
"Hey-- uh, Danny?" There's an almost imperceptible tremor in Tucker's voice.
Danny doesn't look up from what he's doing, his pencil scritching across his notebook as he tries to do another quadratic formula question. "Hm."
"What's -- uh -- what's with the dogs?"
He looks up now, and finally sees where Tucker is -- standing in the doorway of his room with an ashy look on his face and a skewed, nervous smile. He's got a white knuckle grip on the doorknob. Sam is wide-eyed behind him, and using him as a partial meat-shield.
Danny looks down to the two giant ghost wolves sprawled next to him lazily. One large green one with his head in Danny's lap, letting him use him as a prop-up for his notebook. Another equally large black one splayed against his hip, sleeping on her side with her head tilted inward to his calf.
Automatically, a grin tilts across Danny's face, and he lifts his notebook up to scratch behind the green one's ears. He opens a lazy eye, one that is bloody red with a ring of yellow around the pupil, before slipping it shut and leaning his head into Danny's touch. "This is Sirius and Procyon," he says, and reaches down to scratch Sirius' belly. "And they're not dogs, they're wolves."
"Great," Tucker says, his voice suddenly much smaller and faint, "Love that distinction."
Sirius makes a great big groan, and Danny's grin widens, his heart swelling with fondness. His hand slips away from her belly, and before he can put his notebook back down, Procyon pushes his head up his lap until his ear is against his stomach, demanding pets now too.
Sam peeks her head up from over Tucker's shoulder, "I think what Tucker's asking here is what are they doing here, Danny."
He shrugs, scratching under Procyon's chin. "They kinda just showed up. I tried sending them back to the Zone, but they keep returning." And they were weirdly intent on just following him around, which is the only reason he gave up on returning them. They weren't causing trouble, and they knew how to hide around the living. Plus, he just loves dogs. "So now I have two wolves living with me."
This, oddly enough, did not do anything to calm Sam and Tucker down. Tucker's mouth purses into a thin line, and he presses the sides of his palms to his lips in prayer. "How have your parents not found out about this?"
Danny wordlessly raises his hand, and his sleeve slides down to reveal a thin chain bracelet hooked around his wrist. He whistles sharply, and both Procyon and Sirius jerk their heads up to look at him, ears pricked up and eyes alert.
Silently, he points to his wrist and rattles it twice, and in unison both wolves stand up and pounce. Instantly, they turn into a respective, opaque black and green mist that swirls around the bracelet and forms into two, flat wolf charms.
Both wolves are posing in the stereotypical wolf howl, with little stars indented on the sides. Procyon's charm has the Canis Minor constellation engraved on it, while Sirius has the Canis Major.
Danny faces Sam and Tucker, and points at his wrist. "Like this."

what makes Cinder such a compelling 2012 not-like-other-girls protagonist is that she is surrounded by Other Girls, and she loves them. Iko and Peony are the most stereotypical teenage girls obsessed with pretty clothes and boys and pop culture and she would die for either of them in a heartbeat. Iko rolls in with makeup smeared all over her plastic face and Cinder is like "ayy girl slay!". she knows that she is JUST like other girls in all the ways that matter.

Thinking about the contradiction of characters that seemingly have both low self-esteem and yet cling to their pride. You'd think the two couldn't combine, but sometimes when you have little, you cling to what you do have, no matter how irrational it seems

wildflower by billie eilish except it’s post s3/4 billy feeling guilty and undeserving of steve, and almost bad for nancy? a weird sense of guilt because when he first moved to hawkins he would watch them when he thought no one was looking, lonely and yearning. wanted steve to touch him like that, treat him like that, love him like he loved her. but anytime he was caught, he panicked and spewed hate. anger was safe, anger protected him. a gay teen from california in hawkins? he didn’t have anything else to resort to. but now he’s too tired to be angry at the world and too in love with steve to ever feel how he did before nearly dying. but he never quite made amends with nancy. nancy, who he wonders if steve is thinking about every time he kisses billy. who he’s been too afraid to approach and talk to. who he feels hates him, and knows he doesn’t deserve steve. he knows she broke his heart, but he also knows steve pictured a life, a family with this woman. he doesn’t know if he can give steve that. billy wonders if he thinks about nancy more than steve does, too scared to ask. scared all his crazy thoughts will be confirmed. he knows she’s with jonathan, but he also knows that she was his first true love. she’s with jonathan, but he swears he feels her eyes on them whenever steve hugs, touches, kisses him. swears she’s giving them the same almost sad, wanting look he had to fight when he used to look at them.

Re-visiting Antoinette
So, I've been re-watching the show and it has me coming back to Antoinette. Which, I think I always come back to Antoinette because she is important, just not in the way a lot of people think.
The thing is, Louis and Lestat don't communicate properly so you have to look at their actions to figure out where they are at mentally and emotionally at any given time. And painting a more complete picture of Lestat's actions in relation to Antoinette and her purpose according to Lestat does that.
You see, I think by the time Antoinette enters, Lestat feels like he is losing Louis. Their relationship is going down the drain because they're not communicating properly and on top of that Louis isn't feeding well so he doesn't have energy for the parts of their relationship that do work. Louis' lack of proper feeding though is tied to his feelings, his humanity. And his shame of what he is, for which Lestat partly blames himself because of how he handled Louis' turning and their relationship.
And so Lestat starts trying to re-write history to get Louis back. Fix the mistakes he made in the past that Louis holds against him to get Louis back in the present but also as a way to remind Louis of the good times. And he uses Antoinette to do that.
As such Lestat casts Antoinette in the role of Ernesto. Because that's where everything started to go wrong in their relationship. Louis being disgusted with how and why Lestat kills. In Louis' opinion Lestat should never have killed Ernesto. At the very least not in the way he did.
Just like Ernesto Antoinette is a musician. And just like with Ernesto as she leaves Lestat is looking at her like he wants to drain her but he doesn't at that point even though I believe he wants to.
He then also uses Antoinette to remind Louis of his courting period with him. I think Lestat's intention with Antoinette is for Louis to miss him during that two week period as he lavishes all of his attention on someone other than Louis only to then try to seduce him at the end of it, recreating the first time he and Louis slept together after their two week courting period with Antoinette in the role of Lily. Also using the fact that Louis is hungry to try to get him to feed.
I genuinely think Lestat would have killed Antoinette if his plan had worked here. Drained her with Louis most likely. Ernesto's death, but with different circumstances. No humiliation, no torture, just pleasure and lulling her into a false sense of security so Louis can feed. Trying to listen to the objections Louis had to the way Lestat killed. Because the killing itself is non-negotiable, but the circumstances can be negotiated. Lestat is willing to hunt for Louis, and in whatever way that will make it more likely that Louis will feed human.
Lestat's genuinely trying to find viable alternatives for Louis to feed on. Because Louis isn't opposed to feeding on animals. But that isn't a sufficient diet. So what is the human equivalent of an animal to Louis? Louis is opposed to feeding on black people because he considers them his people. Louis is also gay, attracted to his own sex, so all men might be off the table. So I think Lestat goes, would white women suffice? Would that be impersonal enough? Or do you need it to be more personal? Would a white woman that looks like me make you angry enough to feed if you can direct your anger at her? Since male criminals don't do the trick? Or do you need variety of the sexual sort? Do you need to have sex that then devolves into you draining your victim in the heat of the moment?
And I mean, Lestat hit the nail on the head too, you've got to give him that. He knows Louis very well. Because Louis in Paris feeds on humans when he hallucinates his victims as Lestat and directs his anger at them. And in San Francisco Louis sleeps with his victims then drains them. They need so much therapy by the way.
But then here that doesn't work. Louis leaves to feed on animals instead of joining Lestat and Antoinette. So Lestat's like okay, I've got to go back even further. Fix every mistake I've ever made with Louis. Not kill Lily, not turn Louis two weeks into knowing him and use Antoinette to represent that. And so he continues to cast Antoinette in the role of Lily and adds Louis-stand-in and doesn't kill or turn Antoinette. Instead he continues a relationship with her as a human.
But I think Lestat's also realizing it won't make a difference, even if he has learned from his mistakes. I think his relationship with her devolves into a form of self-flagellation through her then. Because he can't turn back time and not turn Louis after only two weeks of knowing him, ease him into things so that Louis doesn't hate Lestat and himself for what they both are. So that he doesn't want to hurt himself and Lestat for what they both are.
I think Antoinette also ended up becoming a way to bridge the gap between Lestat's vampirism and his humanity to save his relationship with Louis when Louis became hard to reach, because Lestat stopped being able to read Louis' mind to understand him and because they didn't communicate well. And because Lestat kept making missteps that created an increasingly larger chasm between them.
Because that's one of the problems, although Lestat understood where Louis thought he went wrong enough to try to fix it I don't think Lestat fully understood why Louis thought certain decisions Lestat made were wrong, why Louis saw things the way he did. Lestat acts on instinct a lot, having been a vampire for as long as he's been by the time he meets Louis and having embraced it as he has. He just doesn't think about things the same way Louis does or at all.
He left Antoinette human as long as he did because it was beneficial to him, because it meant she could help him understand Louis' human side, to be a confidante and a sounding board, but it also genuinely offered a layer of protection to him and Louis for him to be seen with a woman when he and Louis were suspected to be lovers by the town.
Until of course it was more beneficial to have her as a vampire. And of course her love becomes a stand-in for the love he wishes he got from Louis, that he feels he could have gotten from Louis if he'd handled things differently with him.
The thing is, just like everything else in Lestat's mind his involvement with Antoinette is for Louis. It's just that Lestat being Lestat everything he does or thinks he does for Louis alone he's usually also doing for himself.

Modern au Astrid does Hiccup's T shots for him. He's by no means squeamish, but I think doing it yourself would still be another level of stressful. They're such alterously in love best friends. Once a week Astrid comes over and is like 'okay babe, it's time to stick the hormone needle in ur asscheek' and he's like 'okay but pls don't say it like that'

The idea of AM and GLaDOS interacting is so funny to me because in my eyes they would fucking HATE each other LMAO!!! AM would think she's a bitch and GLaDOS would think he's an idiot. It would be like a milf and an annoying angsty teen interacting except they're the same age (at least my designs for them would be).
On a related note, I think GLaDOS could do ihnmaims but AM couldn't do portal. He's not good enough at hiding his contempt.

Frontiers’s story had a big impact on me. Sage’s whole dynamic with Eggman struck a chord with me. Eggman slowly starting to see Sage as less of a creation and more of a daughter, occurring in tandem with Sage discovering and learning how to navigate her new feelings, that hit really close to home for me.
The original ending, before the Final Horizon update, brought me to tears. We’ve seen Eggman’s creations get destroyed so many times, but we’ve never seen what it feels like on Eggman’s side of things, especially when it comes to someone as close to his heart as Sage. Those thirty seconds of silence as he stared at the stars, slowly coming to realize that Sage would never come home, never get to know her brothers, never be a family… I actively felt my heart sink for Eggman.
And if that wasn’t enough, “Dear Father,” a song Sage sings to her father, telling him just how much she loved him, and how much she wished she could come home and be a family, plays right after. My heart broke for them both, that scene hit me like a sack of bricks. I was bawling like a child for a long time, which is very unlike me.
I drew this before Final Horizon came out, so I didn’t know how it would affect Sage’s fate. I just wanted to see them all happy together (though Metal Sonic’s chronic resting bitch face makes him look permanently pissed off lmao). It’s funny how life works, because the added context of Final Horizon finally made this image a reality.
Final Horizon’s ending also made me cry like a baby, to be frank, though for a different reason. Instead of that scene with Robotnik staring at the stars alone in deafening silence, we get to see him have a tender moment with Sage. We get to see Sage smile in delight at the thought of finally being able to go home and be a family. We get to hear them talk to each other, be proud of each other, be relieved that it’s over, and glad that they can be a family together.
And then “I’m With You” plays.
While “Dear Father” was, in essence, Sage’s last words to Eggman, expressing her devotion and regret at not being able to come home safe, “I’m With You” is the exact opposite. Sage is no longer wishing for a family she will never meet. She can rejoice in the fact that she’s finally coming home, she has a family, and she’ll finally be able to meet them.
Sage can finally be a part of a family.

Whenever I think about your Keir I think about Bethany telling Anders he reminds her of Malcom. I’m sure that won’t ever affect Keir ever.
bethany is my favourite mage bc she never misses with that psychic damage
but really he and anders aren’t even a thing in act 1 so it’s less like “PLEASE stop comparing my crush to our father” and more like “oh fuck off i spend my entire life trying to act like our dad and one (1) mage rolls up and suddenly he’s dad??”
#the bethany anders keir weirdness about malcolm is so real#because bethany says ‘you remind me of him (generally positive)’ in act 1#but in later acts i think she’s still seeing the same thing just with a different uhhh mindset#seeing the way her dad wanted her to be something she wasnt and strive for something she was never sure was worth the sacrifice#how he tried to make decisions about what was best for other people. how he risked lives etc#whereas anders also has his own perception of malcolm which i think is quite... idealised#it means a lot to him that a mage raised a family that loved him. and hes envious of it#but thats definitely a standard anders is making up. if anders and malcolm really met we’d have to cast a barrier between them within five#minutes. for their own safety.#whereas keir in some ways saw a more complete version of his father from the beginning#but he also believes those more uhh flawed abrasive damaging sides are necessary. of course he does he repeats them#his father may not have been the easiest man in the world to live with but he always did what he had to#and kept his word and held himself to the same standards as others#but oh wait here’s the legacy dlc with the steel chair—#anyway my point being that u get these 3 in a room and theyre talking abt 3 entirely different malcolms. carnage#i dont think it would naturally occur to keir to compare anders to malcolm#but hed be like. ‘i GUESS?’ when bethany said it#honestly anders one of the things that’s kind of disillusioning abt malcolm bc like#i mean say what you like about my man anders but he was never all talk#not to dismiss the courage it took for malcolm to escape & raise a family#but thats one thing. insisting on using your abilities to help people & to go BACK for those still in the circle is kind of another#a lot of dialogue implying malcolm talked a big game about mage rights#but apart from raising a daughter who hates herself what did he actually do.#sorry thats mean but you see my point#and its not just justice that makes anders like that. sure he was more scared and hopeless about the circle#but his instincts are to help. you wouldnt catch malcolm going back to help against darkspawn even when told to run#and my malcolms also. gruff. stoic. serious. a man of few words. he does not do bits or tell you about his cat#if keir hears bethany compare anders to malcolm and at all agrees it’s not really anything about personality#he’s saying yeah i guess anders does seem like a good mage and a good man. thats the only commonality he would jump to#these tags got incredibly away from me
