saw some fanart that's actually got me thinkin about whisper and mimic so that'll be under the cut
There's a pretty. Huge gap in time, for my Whisper at least, between her and Mimic initially meeting- and meeting again after he betrayed her.
Considering that my Whisper is a bit older than most of the sonic RPC muses, i'd say that Whisper was barely like 18 at the time. She was also a lot shorter- moreso around 2'11". In general, she was a lot less developed than she is now, in a Lot of ways.
I wonder how Mimic must've felt. Assuming that this young, frail, bubbly and overoptimistic girl would just end up killed while fending for herself, when she couldn't be found with the other Cutters' bodies. In reality, all he did was dig up the very same trauma that made her seek out a fresh start in the first place- and bury her nose deeper into it. Widening the cracks, pushing her further and further from stability- definitively setting her on the course to what she is now.
She was taught, time and time again, that in the real world- only violence can bring about any real change. Good, or bad.
And one day Mimic will see that put to practice.

Finally drew my interpretation of Zach's parents!
Have had these fellows in the works for a good while!
Really had to lock in when doing the writing here lol - my handwriting is normally a weird hyper mix between cursive and print. But messier. Hopefully its legible! Enjoy some more yapping about these guys below the cut >:D
Must mention this is within my own AU! My interpretation of Zach specifically is a trans man. So uh! No way in hell Arthur is supportive in that regard. He is a miserable man whose only concern is furthering the family business and his public image.
Really looked to both Moral Orel and Bojack Horseman as inspiration for how these two would be. Did not intend for Arthur to share a name with the character he is inspired by lol - but uhm! He specifically is like Arthur Puppington when Clay was a kid: Distant, cold, though not physically abusive. Emotionally? Oh brother, you bet.
Regarding Kim and Arthur's relationship, that was really dead in the water. Kim is a self published author, or rather, an ASPIRING self published author. She mostly writes crime novellas/dramas, though needed some outsider input regarding the legal side of her stories. So, of course, she decides to reach out to the biggest law firm in the area.
It is initially a short and sweet interaction: "I ask you questions, you give me answers and insight when you can." However, she grows to enjoy Arthur's company, falling for him quickly. VERY rushed marriage ensues! Good god! (Of course not ASAP, within a few months time of dating/correspondence) Not too certain as of right now where Zach comes into the mix, but definitely in that honeymoon stage of a relationship where you don't quite know the person yet to really gauge if things will work out or not.
I mean, things absolutely do NOT work out in the end, but they don't know that yet. Arthur I feel is the type to want a family ASAP. Need that sweet sweet heir to the company. Will accept nothing less than a son. Sucks for him, doesn't end up coming to fruition until much later! AFAB child, disappointment on Arthur's behalf, compassion on Kim's. Like a night and day difference - even after Zach does eventually transition (his mother is deceased by this point) his father refuses to accept it until he dies. By until I mean: "You still are not my son." *flatline*
Kim was there for Zach until the day she died, which would probably be around late middle school to early highschool? In that age range. Old enough to have fond and in depth memories. Which! Arthur is the one who discovers what had happened. Busy writing a novel when wham, sudden cardiac arrest - alone, as she tended to keep to herself. Entire family dynamic changes from then onward, though the abusive aspects of it were ever present. Arthur is generally unsupportive of Zach's endeavors, frustrated that he is going into science and robotics as opposed to law. (Though I do think he'd have been trained or prepped for a career as a lawyer throughout his teens-adolescence)
Zach is the closest to his mother, with most of his fashion sense coming from her. Gotta love the turtleneck sweater! @novazentryx came up with the idea that he inherited his early black sweater from Tazzy Chris from her after it shrunk in the wash, loved that so y'know what! This totally applies here. Not only did he inherit the sweater, but also her V-necklace! (Which, if you have seen Zoey, is where she gets it from! As well as she looks strikingly similar to Kim. On that front I think that was a surprise from Aviva, knowing how close he was to her)
Spitballing with this one, but I think it would be interesting if Zach had assisted in pitching ideas for Kim's stories! What aspects of it I do not know, but maybe names for the characters. Mayhaps that is where he gets ZACH from? Don't ask what his deadname is, haven't thought of that and would prefer not to lol
I think that concludes my rambling! Do not really have anything else that is coming to mind at the moment, so feel free to ask questions or leave suggestions about these two! I will more than likely respond ^^ (To asks or replies) Thank you for humoring me and reading all of this if you're here lol, I really appreciate it!!
#I really do go on and on in the read more - sorry for that!#Have got a lot to say about these guys#I am open to questions if anyone has any! :D#artwork#wild kratts#wk#zach varmitech#wild kratts zach#wild kratts oc#long post#uhhhhhhh other tags here lmao

Teach Me
Steve x fem!bi!reader
word count: 1k
cw: mention of pregnancy
part one part two part three part four part five part six part seven
Part Eight: The Final Lesson
Six Years Later
“Higher,” you commanded as Eddie and Robin hung the banner. It read “Happy birthday, Callie!” and as far as you were concerned, this was going to be the happiest birthday she ever had. She was finally entering her teen years, the age you were when she was born and you felt the need to throw her a giant birthday party since it was such a big age and because she had never had a party before.
You also thought she deserved something for enduring all the bullshit with your parents. She had been so brave and strong her whole life and you knew that a little party wouldn’t make up for the trauma, but you still hoped she enjoyed it. It consisted of her two favorite things: Star Wars and Spider-Man, and there had been a freezer full of ice cream sandwiches that you were willing to let her have as many as she wanted since it was her special day.
“Everything looks great, honey,” your husband, Steve, rested a hand on your shoulder as he looked around the heavily decorated backyard of the home you shared.
You had only dated for a year before Steve popped the question and you got married a couple of years after that. In that time, you and Steve bought an apartment together and fixed up a room for Callie so she could come live with you and get out of the hell-hole the two of you were supposed to call home. Your parents were very eager to sign their rights away so you could become her full-time guardian and that said everything you needed to know.
The three of you moved into a giant house twenty minutes outside from Hawkins and you couldn’t have been happier. There had been nothing keeping any of you there, except Eddie, Wayne and Robin but your house was a short distance from them so they came over every week and the six of you had dinner together like the giant family you were.
“Do you think she’s gonna like it?” You knew for sure that she would, but couldn’t help but worry about it. Because if you didn’t worry, who would? It didn’t feel right to be calm. You had spent the majority of your life worrying about everything, what was one more thing?
“It’s got all of her favorite things, of course she’s going to love it.” Steve’s voice was soft and reassuring like always and you immediately felt yourself calm down as he was speaking to you.
“But what if-” Steve rested his hands on your shoulders, looking you directly in your eyes.
“Honey, I know you want this to be perfect, but you need to stop stressing. It isn’t good for the baby.” You both looked down at your very pregnant stomach and you just smiled, knowing that she was just a product of how much you and Steve loved each other. “Now go sit down and I’ll handle this, okay?”
You mumbled a few curse words under your breath before heading to one of the chairs that was at the table that was set up on the patio. You sat gently as Steve handed you a cup filled with lemonade along with a chocolate chip cookie that was sitting on a napkin.
He had been so good to you throughout your entire pregnancy, always there when you needed him. Whether you needed him to help you up from a chair or to put on your shoes, he was right there by your side and you couldn’t have been more grateful for him.
You were due any day now and even though the doctor insisted that you rest, you’d have been damned if your little sister didn’t have the best fucking party in history. So there you were, a week until your due date, running around, getting last minute things for the party when you should have been in your bed, watching reruns of your favorite show.
Robin, Eddie, and Wayne had wanted to say something about you being so active, but Steve had advised them against it. Pregnancy had made you very irritable so it was best for them to just keep quiet until the baby came. Besides, you had already gotten an earful from Steve and didn’t need anymore criticism.
You drank your lemonade and ate your cookie like Steve had instructed while he went over your checklist to make sure everything was done exactly the way you liked it. He knew exactly how much you wanted everything to be perfect and he was going to make that happen no matter what it took. You had always taken over everything and the pregnancy had made you tired that Steve felt like it was his turn to do something for you.
Your ears perked up when you heard the front door open and you hurried to get out of your chair to greet Callie and Steve and Wayne rushed to help you up. Once you were out of the seat, Steve rested his hand on the small of your back while he led you to stand right in front of the banner, Robin and Wayne joining the two of you. Eddie and Callie stepped through the open sliding glass door, a giant stuffed elephant in her arms.
“Happy birthday!” the five you exclaimed and she let out a squeal as she looked around the decked out backyard at all of her favorite people. This was definitely the best day of her life and she couldn’t have been more grateful for her sister who she knew had put it all together.
Eddie had kept her occupied by taking her to the fair that had come into town while the rest of you set up the party. By the large bag of popcorn in one hand and the elephant in her other, you could assume that she had a good time. Her face lit up as she realized what was going on and she made a beeline for you, hugging you the best she could with your protruding stomach.
“Thank you, y/n!” She squealed, squeezing you tighter.
“Anything for you, bug,” you replied, your hand giving her head a scratch. “Happy birthday.” She finally let go of you and went around to give everyone else hugs, saving Steve for last. She didn’t really like him at first, feeling protective of you, but now that she had seen how much he cared for the two of you, she decided that he wasn’t half bad. What she’d never tell anyone was that she had a soft spot for him. She managed to have him wrapped more around her finger than Eddie and she took full advantage of that.
You watched your husband and sister embrace and felt yourself tear up at the sweet moment they were sharing. She was whispering something into his ear and you wondered what she was saying that was making him laugh so much. They definitely had a unique relationship, more like siblings as opposed to uncle and niece, but their dynamic never failed to get a laugh out of you. You loved seeing them argue over frivolous things with such seriousness, wondering how they could keep straight faces.
“Happy birthday, Cal,” he gave her back a little rub before letting go.
“Thanks, Steven,” she replied and he just rolled his eyes at the dumb nickname.
The party was very much a hit with the five of you enjoying your food and engaging in conversation. Callie was having the time of her life, opening her presents, letting out little gasps every single thing. You leaned your head on Steve’s shoulder, your heart warming, watching your now grown up sister enjoying the party that had been just for her. She was gushing over the Darth Vader helmet Wayne had gotten for her, trying her best impression, getting laughs from everyone.
You looked around the backyard and smiled to yourself, never imagining that that wears where you would have been six years prior, surrounded by every single person who you considered to be your family, the happiest you had ever been. And it had all been thanks to the man next to you. He had shown you exactly the kind of life you had deserved and you let yourself have it, no longer thinking that you didn’t deserve it.
Your thoughts were cut off by a loud splash hitting the concrete. You looked at all of the eyes on you and looked down to see that water had come from you. Your water had broken and of course, the baby couldn’t have waited just a few hours until the party was over and it was no longer Callie’s birthday anymore. Just your luck.
“Eds, grab the bag from the nursery,” Steve called out and in one swift motion, he picked you up and rushed around the house, opening the gate, in too much of a rush to close it behind him. He paused when he didn’t have his keys, but the car miraculously unlocked and he looked up to see Robin standing in the front doorway, jingling the aforementioned keys. Steve opened the door and gently set you inside before catching the keys that Robin had tossed his way.
“I swear to god, you’d lose your head if it wasn’t attached to you,” she said with a roll of her eyes. “We’ll see you at the hospital, dingus.”
As soon as Eddie got the bag into the backseat, Steve got into the driver’s seat of the car and quickly cranked the car, pulling out of the driveway to head to the hospital. In just a few hours, you were going to be parents. You had never had the title before, but Callie gave you plenty of practice. You were practically her mother, the only thing you hadn’t done was actually give birth to her. Neither of you had any idea what you were doing, but you’d figure it out. You always did.

Honestly the most gratifying thing about my undercut that doesn't have to do with gender is that now I actually get genuine compliments on my hair.
I have naturally very curly hair. It is also very dark but has been steadily turning white since I was 15 (I'll be 35 in October.) I've had it long before, and most often in my life I've had it cut very short in a boyish style.
And my entire life, the comment I heard most was "is your hair naturally curly?" (always said with a dubious tone even when I was little, because I guess other 5-year-olds must have been getting perms) And it's usually always followed by "I wish I had hair like that, I'd kill for your hair" or some variation thereof.
I was told this was a compliment. As an autistic child who hated my curls for the longest time, this frustrated me. It never sounded like a compliment, it never felt like a compliment, and if they wanted my hair so bad, they ought to find a way to trade with me.
As I got older, into my late teens and early twenties, I made peace with the curls, even though I still got those same "compliments". But since I'd been getting increasingly white hair since age 15, they were now accompanied by people criticizing my "highlight job" and my choice to "mix in blonde". Looking people square in the eyes and saying "I don't have highlights, my hair's just been going white since I was 15" usually got semi-gratifying results when people backpedaled like hell, but a lot of them also would then criticize me for not dying the white to hide it.
I was constantly trying to alter my style for my hair my entire life and I don't even like styling my hair, but it caused me no end of upset to hear these things. I figured I was always doomed to be miserable about my hair. My body is already sensitive as hell to so many things I can only use specific products on my hair safely, but it hurt that my mother and grandmother tried so hard to help me understand people did like my hair, when the comments I heard sounded like criticism and an insinuation that other people deserved my hair.
And then 2020's COVID lockdown meant I couldn't get my summer cut to shorten my hair so I wouldn't overheat. At least, the person I usually went to couldn't do my hair.
So between desperation to find a way to keep all the weight of thick, heat-trapping dark curls off my neck and shoulders, and the desire to try something new as a subtle means of better expressing my gender, I decided to try an undercut. My partner and I looked up photos for reference, used an electric razor that was typically reserved for his hair, and decided what to do. Several layers underneath in the back would have to be shaved off completely (more than we initially anticipated, believe it or not,) and I wanted the shave to come around my left side. Just shave the left half of my head, because for some reason heat would constantly get trapped there as well as at the back of my neck. (Dunno why that didn't happen the same way with my right side, but hey, we've established I'm pretty odd.)
It was a relief, both physically and in terms of gender euphoria when I looked in the mirror and heard my partner's loving exclamation of "oh! there you are!" And it was also a relief when my mother and grandmother loved my new hair, especially when my grandmother said "that suits you best of all. You should always keep your hair that way." (Grandma passed in February of this year, and she never wavered in her love of my new hairstyle.)
But then, it started happening. Not just with family, friends and coworkers, but random strangers, at least once a week, often more than once a week. Someone would come up to me and say "I LOVE your hair! It's so cool!" I'd never heard that before.
I have quickly learned an added benefit of the undercut is that, with the left side of my head being shaved, it's incredibly easy for people to realize that my hair IS naturally curly, and to see my white pattern where my hair is growing back in on that side. And I've gotten compliments on that too! Both people talking about how dynamic my curls make the undercut, and several others telling me that my white pattern is beautiful and they hope I never think to dye it.
It's slowed down a bit since then but it still happens every couple of weeks. A little while ago at work, a regular [teen] patient came in with her mom, who approached me to ask about my undercut because she (the mom) has been hesitant to let her child try an undercut, but on seeing my hair, she changed her mind and wanted to know about my experience. Said kid still doesn't have an undercut yet, but they've been changing up their hair and presenting more queer in their dress, and they've started shyly waving to me when they see me. And yesterday, during grocery shopping, as I was waiting for my partner to get back from grabbing something, an older lady slowed down, came over to me, and just said "Excuse me, pardon me, you just have the most beautiful hair. That style is so striking, and your curls are wonderful with it. That's all. I just wanted to tell you you have gorgeous hair" and then she left.
It's so strange how that impulsive choice to take a shot on a new style not only became something I love for me and my personal expression of self, but is the thing that finally, truly has brought me compliments on my hair for the first time in my life. Real compliments that make me feel good.
So I guess what I'm saying in this overly long ramble is 1: I'm forever grateful this has happened and is happening to me, 2: for anyone struggling with similar, this is a reassurance that things can and will get better, 3: change can be terrifying but this is a very good example of a drastic change that wasn't going to have harmful repercussions for me personally, and the fact it turned out so well is both a confidence- and courage-booster. It's worth taking a shot on, because so far it's brought me nothing but joy. Sure, it requires frequent maintenance to keep up with the shaving part because my hair grows fast, but it's a small price to pay for a cooler head (in more than one sense!) and the positive interactions that have resulted.

I'm definitely gonna write more planned out and longer stuff for this AU of mine, but, take a silly one shot for now!
"Katsuki, my boy!" Rikiya had practically jumped on the teen, squeezing him tight enough that he couldn't get enough air to verbalize a 'Get the hell off me, geezer!', and instead opted for pushing him away. "God, I know you were worried, but maybe don't strangle me right after I escape from one group of loonies to another."
"Of course, of course, I apologize." The Grand Commander took a small step away, recomposing himself and straightening his tie. Katsuki didn't get to spend a lot of time to wind down with Chitose at her place, since Rikiya insisted on meeting him and the other lieutenants at the Deika City HQ A.S.A.P. "We really couldn't have made this a voice call or somethin'? Y'all know I don't like being dragged around for unimportant shit."
"Yes, you're safety is extremely important," Koku had suddenly appeared behind the boy, gently wrapping an arm around his shoulders and bringing Katsuki beside him, "not just to the cause or Liberation Warriors you inspire, but to us. We were all extremely worried for you."
"I was not." Tomoyasu replied quickly and almost defensively from the chair he was seated in, far in the back of the room. He seemed to be typing away at nothing on his laptop, like always. "Seriously, we trained you for who knows how long, and you allow yourself to be bested by what? A mere gang of insane hooligans? At that point, I'm surprised you didn't die from the short time they had you in their grasps. Couldn't even escape on your own."
Katsuki glared at him, used to the scathing words and attitude, but certainly not fond of it. "Yeah, I'm happy to see you too, asshole!" Rikiya smiled, deciding not to divulge in how Skeptic had looked ready to murder someone when he couldn't find the League's hideout, or the very strongly worded e-mail he had almost sent UA.
"Come on now, Tomoyasu, he's simply a child! And unlike Geten, Chitose was determined to give him a strict and high maintenance education." The woman in question smiled proudly, looking around the room from her seat, closer to Katsuki that Skeptic's. "And for your age and lack of experience, you still held your own, not even a mark on you! Truly, we have all trained you so well, but your own talent and grit shown through more than anything, one of our strongest Warriors, by a long shot! It could be said you're even on par with u-"
"We aren't making him a Lieutenant." Skeptic shot down the woman's passionate sale's pitch. She shrugged, "It was worth a shot."
Katsuki took a deep breath in, looking towards his mother figure awkwardly. "Actually, on the note of Geten, we might... Need him at our place, tomorrow." Curious tilted her head, and Geten, silent up until now, looked at him as well. "Oh, and why is that?"
"Well, UA is setting up a dorm system, and wants approval from the families of the students, and I might have told my class about my adoptive brother with an ice quirk who has no hobbies or job that stays home all day. And told other the teachers, too. Including All Might."
Rikiya hummed, dramatically pursing his lips. This was most definitely an issue, as Katsuki was never officially adopted by Chitose, meaning no one at UA actually knew his relationship with her, or the rest of his family situation. And since he went missing so long ago, him simply enrolling as "Kizuki Katsuki" and making up random stories made some level of sense, and certainly seemed in line with what he would do.
"I see, that could certainly pose a problem. But, I'm sure you're smart enough to come up with an excuse-" "I'll go." Geten spoke deadpan, as if it was obvious he would accept. "Well, I suppose that works as well!"
Katsuki raised his eyebrows, "Really? No fuss given?" Geten stood from his chair, walking towards him. "I want to see your teacher firsthand. Judge who they are, what they're like. If they aren't up to the task, I'll be letting them know, as well as giving you a harder training regimen."
Chitose smiled excitedly, running up to follow him. "Oh, thank you, Geten! The house hasn't really been cleaned for a while or made ready for guests, but, we'll fix that as soon as we return. We could go and get you an outfit to make you seem more casual and fit in better than with the parka, if you'd like?" Geten just grunted in agreement, before Katsuki spoke up again. "I'll also need a dad, but, I didn't give any specifics about him, so, anybody will do."
...
...
"...Why are you all staring at me like that?" Tomoyasu looked up from his laptop, confused and a bit concerned.
"Well," Koku started, "It's not like the leader of The Hearts and Mind Party can suddenly generate a partner and two adopted sons." he walked dramatically around the room, a small smirk on his face.
"Do not imply what I think you are implying." "And, it's not like the CEO of Detnerat could either," "Stop." "And Geten is already the older brother, so..."
"And you think I, a board member at Fell Good Incorporated, CAN generate a lover and two children without anyone in the public knowing or caring?!"
"Yes."
"Mhm."
"I don't see why not."
"Of course!"
"Abso-fuckin-lutely."
"Well, then, it's decided!" "No it is not!" "Kizuki Geten, Kizuki Katsuki, Kizuki Chitose, and Chikazoku Tomoyasu will meet with the UA teacher tomorrow!" Rikiya gestured to the four, as if it was a serious mission they were undertaking. "Wait, I can't be the father! What about my family name!"
"Just say you aren't married." Koku was too happy to throw a monkey wrench into his only escape, not hiding the schadenfreude from watching the high and mighty Skeptic degraded so.
"Yet." Chitose chimed in, "And when we do, you're getting my family name." Her smile was much more genuine than Koku's, scarily so. "Do not mess with me, woman!"
Katsuki snorted as Geten seemingly teleported in between Skeptic and Curious, grabbing his wrist a bit too tightly with that scarily blank expression on his face. "Come, Father. Be their for your family."
Tomoyasu could only get out "I-"'s and "You can't-"'s as he was dragged out of the room, Katsuki and Chitose following behind, leaving only Koku and Rikiya in the room.
"...You know, Grand Commander,it wouldn't surprise me if he was the type to take the family name. His quirk would help him be quite the remarkable house husband, too-"
"Ahaha please, Trumpet, spare the poor man! He's going to go through enough humiliation in the passing days for a life time, he doesn't need anymore of it thrown behind his back!"

I am here to knock on your door and peer inside for any Sister Diana and Bellamy info, because this is my fave AU now. I am very greedy and wish to know more (also Secondo being a girl dad, MY HEART)
Not only is Papa Emeritus Secondo a girl dad, but Bellamy also has two very evil satanic cardinals for uncles that watch very R-rated horror movies with her when they babysit. Don't worry, Copia always fast-forwards through the really bad parts, despite Terzo saying "she already knows about that stuff". Bellamy loves horror movies (and spending time with them), but C still got her that rat plushy for when she spends the night- which she named Lumaconi.
Lol so this response got super plot-driven, which is why it took ages to finish, I’m so sorry about that! This is going to focus mostly on how Secondo met Sister Diana when he was a Cardinal under Primo’s papacy, the ‘ghuleh’ that haunts the mortuary, and baby Bellamy. I really wish I could have rendered these, but I just didn't have the time unfortunately 😞
TW: This gets spicy. There are mentions of sex and suggestive imagery, but nothing explicit. Also TONS of angst. Mentions of death and blood.
Thank you so much for your ask. Your support means the world to me! Enjoy 🖤
Diana was taken in as an orphan by the church as a young teen. Despite her unknown family history, she quickly grew accustomed to her new home at the ministry. She met Eliza when she began training to take her official vows. Their relationship started out as mentor and mentee but grew into a friendship once Diana had taken her final vows. Despite there being a bit of an age gap, they quickly became very close. Diana would often pull some of Eliza’s darkness out of her, encouraging her to “have some fun”, while Eliza was more the voice of reason. After Primo and Eliza married, you better believe Diana’s teasing was relentless, and even more so when Eliza was made Prime Mover. Though this came to bite Diana in the ass when she started eyeing Primo’s first younger brother, much to Eliza’s delight.
Primo seemed to ascend from a Cardinal to Papa in the blink of an eye, taking Eliza as his Prime Mover and promoting Secondo to a Cardinal. Secondo was of course no less lively decades ago than he is now. His reputation among the siblings of sin and even to a few outside followers/ connections with the church was nothing short of promicuous. While he continued to appreciate the pleasures of the flesh and substance, Secondo was perhaps lesser known to be quite active within the dark arts. His nose was either in a grimoire or a porn mag, no in between.
Diana had taken her place overseeing the mortuary of the church, having a fascination with the dead and the dark powers that collect the soul as they are taken to Hell. When Secondo happened to find himself drifting towards the art of necromancy, the mortuary was the first place he looked for “research materials”. The first night Secondo met her, Sister Diana had been sewing a newly dead sibling back together after she had embalmed them and performed the ceremonial ritual to send off their soul. This hauntingly gorgeous sister, clad in a white, bat-like Cornette, with a cold gaze that would often unsettle other siblings of sin, lifted her eyes to him, and allowed the corners of her full lips to curl in a small, but controlled smile. There was no shyness or intimidation on her face by the sight of Cardinal Emeritus II, like so many siblings often had. She moved like a ghost around her table, silent, floating like a flower petal. You could say it was Asmodeus himself who brought them together, consuming them with the delightful sin of lust.
Diana was charmed by his demanding presence and intense stare, and her odd serenity and striking beauty enamored Secondo. It was suppose to just be a one time thing. One night turned into two, and then a month later Secondo was having her sit on his lap while sipped on scotch, her hands resting on his chest as music served as pleasant background noise for them to enjoy eachother’s bodies tol. Then they were driving with the top down through the night lit streets of LA, and he got to see her hair whip around her face, free from her habit, as they went club to club; drinking, laughing, fucking. Next thing he knew Secondo awoke one morning to a spare toothbrush in his bathroom and spare clothing having found a permanent residence in his quarters. What shocked him more so was that he didn’t seem to mind.
At first, Secondo assumed these many shared nights were what caused him to find himself coming back to her time and time again. It was only natural, to bond with someone, it had been a year at this point after all. But what he would never admit to himself, was that the long, deep conversations he would find himself sharing with her within the private walls of his quarters, late at night, made him feel connected to someone else in a way he’d never been before. No, seeing the same lust within her for both carnal explorations and for knowlege of the dark arts that he shared himself was not at all attractive to him. Waking up to her presence in his bed, wearing his shirt, sharing his warmth vulnerably, showing her trust in him despite being reserved and isolate to nearly everyone else, did not melt his heart in the slightest.
Sister Diana challenged him as an equal intellectually. Secondo knew of Diana’s unwavering nature, her own ambitions and independence, yet she allowed him to hold her. To lead her in a dance. To keep his hand on the small of her back as they walked. She willingly submitted her body to him, as he did to her too, behdind closed doors.
He loved the way she would look at his younger brother Cardinal Emeritus III, not with carnal desire like some of the other siblings, but she would rather toy with him and match his own advances in a playful manner. Not once did Sister Diana look at anyone else like she looked at him, and only he would ever know that.
All that being said, Secondo has never, and may never be exclusive to anyone, as monogamy was never something he was drawn to in his life. Thankfully Diana felt the same way about her own sexuality. They silently understood this between eachother, despite never actually having a real conversation about it. Still, they would sit in the library for hours as they studied together. She would come up to the quarters of the high clergymen and massage his shoulders as he finished paper work. He would come down to the morgue to bring her coffee and food when she would be working nights. There was no denying their love for eachother.
Their meetings fell into a comfortable routine. So you can image how it confused Secondo when Sister Diana wasn’t in the mortuary at the time she usually was every other day. How it started to make his brow crease when he couldn’t find her anywhere else in the church. The Cardinal found her in the very last place he chose to look for her in. Perhaps if he had gone to her room first, things would have been different. Perhaps he wouldn’d have found her lifeless body, mutilated and pale, blood already beginning to dry upon her skin and the carpet as she layed on her bedroom floor.
I briefly mention this scene in one of my one shots, “Child of Her Grave”, but of course I’m slightly changing how it goes already lol. But anyway, the family was in shambles to say the least.
Secondo had come to Primo in a daze. He didn’t know how long he stayed by her body, completely shell-shocked at the sight until he decided to knock on his brother’s door at 2 in the morning. The unlit halls of the church disguised her blood that now stained his cheek and clothing. He simply told Primo that Sister Diana had been killed, unable to utter anything more.
Her death occured on the same day that an incredibly important ritual needed to be performed. It had only been hours after Secondo told Papa Primo that he was now faced with having to tell his Prime Mover that her best friend had been murdured over night.
The combination of seeing his brother struggling to process finding his lover’s body, and holding Eliza against him as sobs racked her body, was the most torturous thing Primo had ever experienced. But they were left with no time to process their grief.
The higher clergy, along with Sister Imperator, were adamant with Papa Primo that the ritual not be delayed simply because of one sibling’s funeral. But when Papa didn’t come when he was summoned for the ritual, several Bishops stormed his quarters in anger and frustration at the delay of the incredibly time-sensitive ceremony that still needed hours of prep work before dawn. Primo was considered one of the more patient Papas that was very difficult to truly anger, yet he didn’t feel an ounce of remorse as he killed one of the Bishops for daring to raise his voice while Eliza was shaking violently against his chest.
Her burial ceremony was quiet. Secondo sat by her grave afterward and refused to move. It broke Primo’s heart that he wasn’t able to attend with Eliza and his brother. He got there as soon as he could, heading straight to his cardinal. He had been aware of his relationship with Sister Diana, it had been obvious to Papa that the year they spent together has made his brother close to her, even if Secondo himself refused to admit it. He could only imagine his pain. Someone was standing over his brother- who he barely registered, thinking it was their father Nihil deciding to be present. Primo was not prepared to see the wrath of Satan in his brother’s eyes. He should have known then that Second Emeritus was planning something in his silent anguish, but Primo found a brief sense of relief knowing the Old One was with him when he couldn’t be.
The ritual had required Carinal Emeritus III and Cardinal Copia to be in attendance of course. The roles of the two satanic princes of the church had been flipped. Terzo was the one now wringing his hands and stuttering over his words. Both of them wanted to be with Secondo, but Copia sent him off before they left the offices of the higher clergymen. It was important that at least one of them was there.
Terzo felt his heart hammer in his chest as his legs carried him across the cemetery.Even when they were boys, Terzo had never seen Secondo cry. His brother was always so stoic. Secondo took everything in stride and grace, and demanded nothing but authority in every situation. But when he reached his destination, Terzo stared at a man that was just as lifeless as the bodies six feet under them.
He was almost afraid to touch him. He didn’t want to upset his brother further, but Terzo couldn’t bring himself to leave either. The younger brother’s throat tightened and he stood rigid- but soon eased himself beside his superior dark Eminence, sitting on the painfully cold metal bench that faced her grave.
He held his breath for Secondo to snap and tell him to fuck off, he almost wanted him to, just to have a sign of normalcy from his brother. When that never came, he slipped his arms around him, and just press himself as close as he could, remaining silent. When there was still no reaction from Secondo, he laced his hand in his and squeezed.
“Ti voglio bene...”
Terzo hated how his voice shook and cracked when he whispered it against Secondo’s shoulder. He needed to get a fucking grip-
Weakly, Secondo finally squeezed Terzo’s hand back. Oh- Lucifer, he can’t cry. That’s all it took for Terzo to press his face against his brother’s shoulder and hug him tightly.
Thunder raged in the distance when Terzo’s blinding white eye spotted one of Nihil’s ghouls walking over to Imperator at the top of the stairs to the church's entrance. The sight of dried blood on black fabric made violet lightning split the sky- before an explosive peal broke the silence.
To this day they still don’t know exactly which ghoul murdered her.
As soon as the moon had cast a blinding glow upon the cemetery did Seconod’s mourning cease. He has been mentally preparing to recite the words of the many grimoires he’d read with Sister Diana, realizing that the dark arts had brought them together for a specific purpose, in this moment, he would raise her from the earth. It needed to be done before the decay of her internal organs began. It was the most demanding casting Secondo had done at that point in his practice. But by the time the moon was at its peak in the sky, Diana rose from her grave, her skin sickly, bones snapping back into place and mending her body where it had been broken. Standing in a horrific sight from the hole she clawed herself out of. Her hand’s blacked and clawed, raw from scratching out of her own casket. Yet she smiled at him like the day he met her.
Now you can really imagine the family’s reaction, seeing the dead sister walking through the halls the following day of her funeral. Sister Imperator seemed especially stunned, for whatever reason. I’ll have to draw some of these reactions later lol.
Thankfully not much changed after that, as Diana kept to herself mostly, her returned presence was not immediately noticed by the rest of the church. The siblings would of course rumor that a ghost haunted the mortuary, with exposed bone and rotting flesh. None of this was true of course. Secondo only noticed she was colder to the touch now, and smelled more like the earth, but her beauty and mind were in tact. He knew why Lucifer brought them together that day with necromancy, and he was now more driven than ever to master the evil forces.
Nonetheless, Cardinal Secondo and Sister Diana were very happy to be reunited. Bellamy was born just a little over a year after her mother’s resurrection, as physical proof of that rejoined love.
Currently, in the timeline of this au, Bellamy is now seven years old and Second is now Papa Emeritus II. There will be more content to come with her, I know this response is getting stupidly long lol. For now, I’ll end it with this goof ass doodle of Bellamy’s dedication ceremony to Lucifer and Lilith, actually led by Papa Nihil, who shockingly volunteered to dedicate his granddaughter to the Lords of Hell at the altar.
Primo better get a comfortable ass seat in hell for the shit he puts up with.
That’s all for now 💐🖤

You should tell us about Chilli and Giggel :3c
Hell yeah I can! Here are some recent doodles of them as a bonus:
[ID: Two art pages featuring digital/traditonal doodles of two ocs. The first has an oc named Chilli, a skinny, pale teen with long, golden and red braids that end in little skulls, side bangs resembling a skull, and a jacket dress. Train tracks and wheels decorate her outfit, and she's shown to have a prosthetic on her left foot. She's also shown to be able to shed her skin, her face resting behind her like a hoodie as her elongated skull beneath it surveys her surroundings. She's also holding a weapon resembling saw blades on a pole, and has a skull-themed train rushing by her in the background. Her little brother, Giggel, is in the second image- shown to be a short, pale boy with long, brown curly hair, freckles, braces, and bird legs. As a kid he wears a hoodie dress with a lock symbol, the hood resembling a skull when put over his head. There's also a doodle of him in his twenties, where he wears a dress with a skull on it and loses his pigtails, as well as grows facial hair. End ID]
-------
Chilli and Giggel are two siblings that live on the Skull Train, which just as it sounds, is a train with a skull face. It's perpetually running and consumes precious metals for fuel, can create new tracks on the spot and is probably alive. For Chilli, she can't stray too far for it or she literally dies, at least brain-wise; her body still remains alive at a certain distance from the train, and she can regain her sentience upon returning. She doesn't need to phsyically eat (the train getting fuel is enough), and has impressive regenerative powers that make it very hard for her to die.
As for personality, Chilli is a loud and cocky gal who takes things at face value and never apologizes for anything she does. Her self-confidence is highlighted in how she pretends to know everything and has no qualms in bossing people around.
Giggel is the younger sibling of Chilli and her only companion on the Skull Train. He's eager to please and mimic his sister, often being a partner-in crime to her schemes and idolizing her every descision. They're very close growing up, and are practically inseparable until Giggel turns 14.
After an incident where Chilli falls off the train and gets literally left behind as her body ceases brain function, Giggel finds himself alone with no idea where she went. About half a year passes before he finally decides to leave the train, despite being under the assumption that he's as succeptible to train distance consequences as Chilli was. However, he quickly discovers that he isn't actually tied to the train, and can go as far as he wants without issue. About seven years pass before the siblings meet again, Giggel now being a 21 yr old adult with a bike gang under his belt and a more pessimistic outview on life, and Chilli having lost her face as her deformed skull prevents her from wearing it comfortably. The meeting is less than ideal, as Giggel swapped his niave idolization for resentment, assuming Chilli abandoned him and lied about him being unable to leave the train all those years ago.
Chili's absence, however, is actually due to not being close enough to the train to regain brain function but close enough that her body stayed alive. Giggel kept the train close to where he thought Chilli left him in the hopes she'd someday return, and when he left the train still mantained the same loop as it continued to run. On the tracks where she was comatoased, her head dealt with the occasional trauma of being run over by other trains, and as her skull healed in an elongated shape and her facial skin tore off, she remained unmoving and practically unaging for near a decade. When she finally came to, her new look remained and she began to search for her brother. In the following months, her body ages quickly to catch up and she goes through the arc of growing up and seeing her brother, no longer the little starry-eyed kid that sees no fault in her, have his own life and opinions outside of her boastful guidance. This harsh reality check ends up humbling her, and the siblings reconcile and start building a relationship anew.
#i forgot to mention that theyre not blood related and the reason giggel isnt affected by the train is because of that#chilli literally just found him as an orphaned kid and took him under her wing. she was lonely all alone on the train so she let him stay#Giggel is also the name Chilli gave him. As an adult I think he changes it but not sure yet#chilli comes back to life practically the same as she was before she fell but basically becomes a diff person q year later#with her world view shattered as someone who can do no wrong and the world changed in the time she was gone. shes basically a new person#ocs#character design#my art#chilli#giggel#skull train

Do you have any headcanons about the ages of the crew? We know that Kid is 21-23 yrs old and Killer is 25-27 yrs old, but what about everyone else?
I headcanon that Quincy is somewhere around late twenties or early thirties maybe, Hip and Hop are twins who look like they're mid twenties or so.
I have no clue for Dive, she looks like a child but it could be some kind of genetic thing where she just looks younger than she really is (coming from someone who's 30 but keeps getting mistaken for an 18-20 yr old)
I think most of the crew is 23-30 fairly easily.
Short of Dive, who I think very much so is a child - Oda has a few consistencies in his art style, and there's currently a very sharp line between child/teen/adult.
20-40 has a lot more wiggle room, but aside from House, there's no one on the crew that gives me "OLD" vibes. So there might be a couple people hitting that 31-33 mark, but for the most part the Kid Pirates are full of people who haven't found any other place to be.
After a certain age, most people turn jaded and bitter and wouldn't be keen on pledging loyalty to anyone.
But I also head canon that Kid pulled his crew together when he was still a kid. I can see Kid as some 15 year old "monster" tearing his way through the gangs and pulling them together before getting his vengeance for Vickie.
There's mention about Kid landing on every scrap of land he comes across, and I feel like he's spent a lot of time at sea, literally visiting every nook and cranny of the South Blue before hitting the Grand Line - and I bet he went up and down Paradise a time or two before Luffy showed up and raised hell at the auction house.
At 23, I think a good bit of his crew has been with him at least 8 years. Dive could've been born on the ship (or found is a treasure chest LOL ).
that's my two cents, fwiw. I see House as the oldest, probably pushing 50. I head canon her as the doctor of the crew, and her greatest strength is just sheer experience. If she could get a month under Dr. Kureha she'd easily be on par with Chopper and Hongo. But I just think she spent her life on that scrap island doing her best to keep the kids alive and that's why Kid asked her to leave with him (and why I think saving his home island is something he wants to do. It's a shit place, but that doesn't mean the people there deserve it staying that way.)

Pairing: Wanda Maximoff x reader
Word count: ~2.8k
Summary: Wanda comes out to her brother
A/N: Here’s a request that took me way to long to fill! Sorry:(
Warnings: Angst, comfort, fluff
Wanda wasn’t sure why people thought that high school was so great. It was a time in her life where she was at her most self-conscious, and least certain of what she was going to do with the rest of her life. She did well in school, in fact she was on track to become valedictorian, and she loved one subject in particular. She’d taken all of the history classes that her school had offered, and she wished she could take more. Instead, she spent her free time studying, tutoring other students, or finding a secluded spot on the school grounds to read.
She had friends, but like most introverts at her age, she had a couple of good friends and a few others who she didn’t know as well. She’d known her two closest friends since freshman year, and now three years later she found herself in quite the pickle. She’d already been accepted to her first-choice university and she was going to study history if she even made it that far. There was still a small voice in her head that told her she wasn’t going to get to study beyond this because she would soon be sucked into her parents’ occupation – their lives.
She knew that it was only a matter of time, but since she was only 17, she hoped that they’d give her a chance to be as normal a teenager as possible. It was impossible not to be a little different when you went home and instead of talking about what you did at school around the dinner table, the conversation tended to revolve around who her parents had killed that day.
Her brother had quit high school as soon as he could because he just didn’t have an interest in it. Unlike Wanda, he hadn’t fought the pressure put on him by their father to join the family business now and learn as much as he could for when he’d have to take over. Pietro wouldn’t say he enjoyed it or that he was even really good at it, but he was learning and that was all that mattered to their father.
Wanda was just lucky that he was buying her time to keep focusing on her studies because she knew that their mom could only convince their dad of letting her have a normal life for so long. She felt the constant pressure despite everyone’s efforts, and sometimes she felt like she was suffocating under it. She wanted a normal life. She wanted to do what normal teens her age did. The good and the bad. She wanted it all if she could have it. At least for a little while.
“Hey, there you are!”
Speaking of bad.
Wanda turns at the voice that she’s grown to love over these past few years. Her closest friend had helped her get used to the brutal and stressful environment that was high school. They’d met in their second class because that’s how long it took for some douchebag to try and hit on Wanda in the crudest way possible. She’d cut him down size quickly and as a result let everyone in his friend group know that she wasn’t interested. The girl who sat behind her, Sam, had laughed at her brilliance and immediately taken interest in the quiet yet scathing brunette.
Wanda had liked her immediately and they’d hit it off and been friends ever since. It wasn’t until recently though, that Wanda found her presence to be more of a burden than a gift. She felt horrible about it and she certainly couldn’t tell her this, but she’d somehow wound-up developing feelings for her which made her life hell.
“Hey, Sam.”
Wanda puts down her book to look to the redhead who just sighs and sits down beside her in the grass. She’s wearing shorts that show off her long legs that are freckled similarly to her face. It’s harder to see them in the sun and Wanda has to stop herself from staring at her friend as she throws her head back and groans in exhaustion. The redhead had also figured out what school she’s going to after graduation. It’s in California back to her hometown and Wanda can’t help but envy her. She’s carefree and unburdened by family obligation in a way that Wanda never will be.
She’s also been one of her only confidants since arriving to this hellscape, and she hates that they’re going to be separating in just a few months.
“What are you reading today?”
Sam knew that the odds of her friend reading something history related are very high, but just glancing at the cover made her think this might be one of the few times it was something else. She watches as her friend blushes slightly before motioning to the book in her hand. She closes it so her friend can read the cover, and so she can focus on her now that she’s here.
“Just this vaguely depressing, misogynistic book.”
Wanda regrets saying this immediately because Sam laughs and she swears the sound waters her crops and pours salt on them at the same time. She still smiles as she listens to Sam tell her about her day and ask her about hers as well. They only have a few minutes left of lunch when her phone buzzes in her backpack.
Hey I’m near school. Want to grab lunch?”
Pietro.
Wanda had a free period next and she was going to study for next week’s exam. However, now that she thought about it, she didn’t want to just sit around and think about this interaction for the rest of the day. She wanted to take a break from school. See somewhere else for a change. Truthfully she mostly needed to get away from her friend because that familiar feeling in her chest was starting to ruin her mood.
“It’s my brother. He wants to talk. I’ll see you around?”
Wanda leaves quickly after telling her brother where she’ll be waiting for him. She sits on the edge of campus, as far away from people as possible as she tries to figure out what her options are. Despite knowing that they will be parting ways in just a few short months, she wonders if there would be any point, any benefit, to breaking ties early. It would certainly make her feel like an asshole and it would make the rest of the year awkward, but then she wouldn’t have to talk to the object of her desires daily. This was near torture. However, the thought of upsetting Sam and ruining their friendship over this made just about as much sense as dropping out of school to avoid seeing her.
She sighs before realizing that her best option is to continue to suffer in silence. She’s scowling at the thought when her brother drives up. She smiles slightly as she stands and walks to the car eager to get out of here. She greets her brother as she opens the door, but she nearly curses herself when she sees he’s not smiling.
“Hey, Piet.”
The older Maximoff is trying to figure out what’s wrong because the look on his sister’s face when he first saw her wasn’t her norm. Sure, his sister could be lost in her own world sometimes, but she looked troubled and he wanted to know if it was normal high school stress or something else. He sees his sister sigh out of the corner of his eye before she sinks down in her seat with a frown.
“What’s wrong, sestra. You look down.”
Wanda couldn’t help but smile slightly as she looked out the window as Pietro drove them away. She was considering not going back to school as she tries to figure out where they’re going to eat. Sometimes he takes her to nicer restaurants where the meals are expensive with small servings, but she doesn’t want that today. She decides to kill two birds with one stone and she turns back to her brother with a shrug.
“I’ve just been a little stressed. I could use a milkshake or two.”
Pietro nods seriously before he turns at the stoplight in the direction of the restaurant that Wanda’s referring to. It’s a diner that is nothing special except for the fact that they have the best burgers and milkshakes around. It’s one of Wanda’s favorite study spots, and she loves when she and her brother go there during her free period. He’s clearly willing to humor her and she smiles at this before preparing to answer his next question. She knows that she can’t tell any of her friends about what’s bothering her. They are all friends with Sam and it would put them in an awkward position. Not only that, but she hadn’t even told them that she’s attracted to girls.
She remembers how she’d been asked to prom by two different guys in her class, and despite liking them fine she hadn’t wanted to go. She wasn’t even hung up on Sam at that point, but she just knew that she wouldn’t have as much fun as her friends that were going with people that they actually liked. Wanda glances at her brother who’s watching her closely now that they’re at another stoplight before shaking his head.
“What’s stressing you out so much? Aren’t your grades pretty much guaranteed?”
Wanda doesn’t bother to tell him that this isn’t true because in the grand scheme of things it doesn’t really matter. She’s not worried about her grades which is out of character for her, but she’s just so tired. She wants to be done because she knows it’s the only way she’ll get to move on from the feelings she has for her friend.
Wanda starts to play with the rings on her fingers as she considers what to tell her brother. He’s always supported her the best he could even if he didn’t understand all of her choices. He wanted her to be able to enjoy her teenage years for as long as possible, and if that included stressing out over grades he supposed that was fine. In the end all he wanted was for her to be happy and safe, and for now she was safe, but she didn’t really seem happy.
“It’s not grades, Piet. It’s something else that’s been bothering me.”
Wanda nearly flies out of the car as they arrive at the diner. She’s grateful that she’d picked a location close to school because she wasn’t sure she wanted to have this conversation in a car. Despite her belief, or rather hope that her brother won’t care about what she has to say, she doesn’t want to risk it. She also wants to be able to watch him for his genuine reaction so she knows how to approach any similar conversation in the future.
“Like what? I know I’m not in high school anymore, but maybe I can help?”
It’s the genuine concern that she hears in his voice that gets her to stop short of the door. She sighs before opening it for her brother and motioning for him to go in first. He does, but he is still clearly waiting for her response, so he hurries to sit down so they can get right to it.
Wanda offers her brother a smile as she sits across from him and takes a deep breath. She can tell her brother this, right? He won’t judge her despite never knowing about any of her previous crushes. Wanda had known that regardless of how serious or who they were, he’d intimidate them with endless questions. The waitress buys Wanda a little more time and she and Pietro both order a burger with fries and a milkshake. Wanda orders her go-to which is cookies and cream while her brother gets chocolate. Most of the time they end up sharing.
“So what is it, Wands? Do I need to beat someone up?”
Wanda rolls her eyes but she shoots her twin a grateful look before she decides to just come out and say it. She knows that she could buy herself time, but continuing to stall just makes her more anxious and she knows that she’ll chicken out. For this reason she sits up and forces herself to keep her hands in her lap so she doesn’t fidget too much. She sees her brother is trying to read her and figure out what she’s going to say, but she beats him to it.
“No, thanks Pietro. I just have been stressing about having to go to school and see…see my crush every day.”
Wanda immediately has her brother’s full attention and he starts at the sound of his sister having a crush. He knew that his sister had people fawning over her occasionally, especially around prom or the holiday formals, but she’d never gone with anyone. She’d always said that she’d rather be home reading a book (a textbook usually) instead which Pietro would never understand, but he accepted it. His sister enjoyed herself more at home alone with her own thoughts or books over going out and spending time with friends any day. She was an introvert through and through, and this thought made Pietro wonder who his sister had developed feelings for.
His eyes light up as he realizes he knows what his sister is going to say only moments before she speaks up.
“I’ve told you about, Sam right?”
Pietro smiles as he listens to his sister talk about one of her better friends. She’s told him about her before of course, but it’s been a while and clearly things have changed a bit. He listens until their food comes and then his attention is slightly split, but mostly on his sister as she fiddles with her milkshake before nodding in response to her brother’s question. It’s asked around a bite of burger, but Wanda is well-versed in understanding his mouth-half-full speak so she deciphers it easily.
“’nd you ‘ke her?”
Wanda wishes she didn’t because her life would be so much easier, but she supposed that this isn’t what high school was about. She couldn’t help that she noticed that her friend was smart, creative, and brave in ways she’d never be. She was beautiful and Wanda knew she didn’t have a chance. She said this without meaning to and her brother stops eating and shoots her a confused look.
“Why would you say that?”
Wanda tries to run through everything she just said before landing on the most likely point of confusion. She sighs before shrugging in faux indifference as she eats another fry after dipping it in her milkshake.
“I just don’t think that it would go anywhere you know? We’re good friends who are parting ways after graduation. What’s the point?”
Wanda watches as her brother frowns at her truly depressing words. She’s been mulling over these things for a while now and her unfortunate conclusion was to just let this crush run it’s course and hopefully it won’t be too painful. She can’t imagine that she’ll be able to go to university and not have the same problem, but maybe then she can have something beyond stressful pining.
Pietro seems to be on the same page and he frowns before offering her a smile as he pushes his milkshake towards her.
“Maybe you’re right, but maybe you’ll meet someone after you graduate. Someone you could try dating.”
Wanda doesn’t even bother thinking about this too much. She’s not sure she’ll ever be able to date someone. The uncertainty in her life makes things difficult, not to mention they’d have to be okay being kept in the dark about her family business. It was a lot of obstacles to overcome that Wanda wasn’t sure anyone was willing to face.
Still she shrugs with a small smile as she takes her straw and puts it in her brother’s milkshake. She’s glad that she talked to her brother about this. Despite coming to the same conclusion, she’s glad that she has someone in her corner and she doesn’t have to suffer under the weight of this secret forever. She lets her brother have some of her milkshake before she takes a deep breath.
“You’re right. Thanks, Piet.”
He just smiles at her and Wanda’s reminded once again that despite being a little all over the place, her brother has her back. He really would just go to her school and beat someone up if he thought they’d wronged her. She didn’t want him to do this exactly, but realizing that she could rely on him was something that she knew she would only come to appreciate more as time went on. She smiles at the older Maximoff before she starts to eat her burger. She needs to get back to school soon, but for now she’s just going to enjoy her time with her big brother.

reed wasn’t aware of his primary ability when it first manifested because well - how the hell do you tell that you can turn off other people’s powers? goes for first part of his teen years thinking that his ability has to do with persuasion because he finds at a young age that people sometimes do whatever he tells them to do? he rides on that high for a long time until one day when someone somehow figures out what happened and tries to get revenge. too bad for him, it’s another metahuman he managed to piss off and he’s about to get his ass fried when ? everything is still in tact and suddenly ? the other guy seems more confused and fearful of what’s going on.
the shock wears off pretty quickly and lucky for reed his ass doesn’t get fried - but it still gets beat after the metahuman goes on a rampage and rages against reed asking what he did to his powers. it’s after that moment that reed connects the dots and realizes his persuasion abilities had been minor this entire time since he had never seemed to be able to actually develop it.
discovering that he can negate others powers is a game changer for reed. he starts using it for morally lesser means realizing he’s able to get away with more. it starts from setting people up for things that get them caught red handed, to being given information, and then selling that information once he finds out just how valuable the things he’s discovers can be.
eventually his endeavors lead him to a point of no return. he infiltrates the aeternal base back home acting as his twin brother and pulls the biggest heist he’s ever done yet. he finds government secrets that he sells to someone abroad in south korea before escaping after making sure that they believe his brother is the true culprit.
after this feat his brother had taken something of extreme valuable to him which started a chase. reed uses his connection of his past buyer to secure a private space at the silverline apartments while he tries to track his brother down.
reed has been using the cover of a new professor for metahuman biomedical studies at nsnu during his time abroad. it offers him both network connections to the han pharmaceuticals and and a straight gateway into the university to continue his ulterior motives.
i think that covers the what and why just to give it to you guys fast and short! so per my inability to plot quickly, i will offer three random starters if you're interested in having an interaction with reed, drop an emoji and aaaa [positive, neutral, negative, unknown] to choose a dynamic you'd be interested in and i will work that out however i can! fair warning, reed is not exactly a people lover but he keeps up a strong front so positive might be a fake positive for face purposes,,,
plots and connections
reed has a habit of walking around with his negation on - well, keeping it on in general. you're trynna get something done and?? why aren't? your powers working???
you catch reed in the subtle act of persuading one of the receptionist's at the front desk to erase the latest residential complaint against him. do you a) mind your own business, b) confront him, c) play dumb, or d) all the above plus receive an underlying threat from reed?
bad influencer - if you want your muse to do something bad or something they would never have the guts to try, reed is your go-to. or maybe there's something you really need to do like studying and procrastination has been your worst nightmare. reed is less inclined to help you because that's lame. and if you're one of his students? tough luck.
reed was always the champion when it came to playing hide and seek as kids. life detection comes in handy for that. reed finds your muse somewhere they shouldn't be or maybe your muse is trapped and reed happens to be the only person who's come by within the last 3 hours.
students from nsnu?
someone who seems to have the same laundry schedule
someone complaining about reed's negation affecting them
enemies or victims? when i say he's evil - i like legitimately mean it. he's morally corrupt and just does well to hide crap like an actual sociopath
( he's not who he seems )
#rj:intro#ooc#/ the way i wanted to have this drafted and then queued soooo much earlier on#/ then went to have hotpot and kbbq and died from a food coma#/ literally about to pass out finishing this i tried my best rip#/ weeps#/ happy opening day every1

What the Hell is Going On? Part 2.5 ft. Johnny Lawrence
Hawk x LaRusso!Reader ○ Parts One and Two ○ Blurb
I'm going to tag @sensei-venus again because this was their idea and I loved it 🤣 (an aside, but ugh, I'm always nervous to write Johnny and Daniel. I feel like I'll never get their characters right.)
No one had ever claimed Johnny Lawrence to be the smartest person in the world, especially in this day and age, but he'd always assure you he knew what he was talking about. Even if he had absolutely no clue what he was talking about. One thing was for sure, though, and that was he knew when two people were really into each other.
For the entirety of the day's karate training, he caught Hawk and the other LaRusso girl making eyes at each other. She'd come around because "something something kata was her favorite part something another clear her mind blah blah blah." It was unimportant to Johnny, really, but his interest was piqued when she couldn't stop checking out Hawk during the whole lesson.
And like any self respecting man, Hawk took advantage of that. Every time she looked his way, he'd do something to make her laugh, whether it be trying to show off or some other quick jab he wouldn't get in trouble for. It was a classic move that worked every time, in most of Johnny's experience anyway, but for Hawk too. Y/N giggled quietly or smiled at his antics.
At one point she'd walked up to him to correct his stance and movement, but her hands lingering on him a little longer than they probably shouldn't have. Even from afar, Johnny saw Hawk purposefully do the move wrong just so she'd show him again, another classic tactic.
When break time came around, some students came up to him and LaRusso asking questions. They answered of course, then he talked with the co-sensei about what lesson they were doing next now that they'd gotten the calm and boring crap out of the way. However, something quickly caught his eyes and he had to admit he was impressed.
Instead of drinking water, Hawk and Y/N were standing near the fence sucking face. Wrapped up in each other's arms, it was as if no one else existed and the world was gonna end. The ferocity of their passion reminded Johnny of when he was that age, which made him chuckle.
"Is something funny to you?" LaRusso asked, pulling his attention back to him.
It was at that moment Johnny realized the gold mine he was sitting on and laughed. "Yeah, man, there is something funny going on."
Daniel's eyebrows scrunched up in confusion before he turned to follow Johnny's line of sight, at which point his face turned into one of horror as he - once again - witnessed his daughter making out with one of his students.
They hadn't come up for air yet, not that they cared, and Hawk proved to be handsy. He squeezed whatever he could of the girl's figure, hands steadily moving downward until he hand two handfuls of her ass and grabbed it firmly, pulling her against him.
That was Daniel's tipping point.
"Hawk!" The teens parted from the heavy kiss to look at him, Y/N quickly hiding her face in her boyfriend's shirt. "Hands above the waistband!"
Hawk smirked and slid his hands back up, holding her back as his pinky very obviously touched the waistband of her shorts. "Of course, Mr. LaRusso!"
Then, as if never having been interrupted, he lifted her chin and captured her lips again. They resumed their previous fervorous make out session like it was nothing.
Daniel looked away as if he were in pain, letting out a deep sigh. Suddenly, he looked as though he'd aged ten years, which was saying something because he still had that baby face from high school. And Johnny couldn't help but laugh at his expense, seeing the clear disdain for the situation he had.
"Aw, c'mon, LaRusso, you should he happy," he told him with a smirk.
"What on earth do I have to be happy about?"
"It's all that crap about young love or whatever the hell they call it these days."
"That's not- you know what, never mind."

So, the next couple of posts I’ll make will be dedicated to my first original story, that I have posted on Wattpad and AO3, but now it will be here as well. This story is unique in the sense that it was inspired by a dream that I had once, and the rough plot just stuck with me. So, now I’m posting each of the individual chapters for it for you all to enjoy. It was a Halloween special, but I think I’m still allowed to post lol. The tags down below are to give an idea of what this short novel is like, a horror, so please be mindful of the tags. Also, I will put trigger warnings before the chapter just in case, as well as tags to indicate events that may trigger viewers. Below is the first chapter, which has character introductions (you may choose to read or not). So, thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy!
Straight Outta Hell
Introduction
All information down below is to give you, the reader, an idea of where this is, and who the characters are and what they look like.
This short novel takes place in a small unnamed town in the US during the 2010's. The story follows Rue's perspective, in first person.
Character list:
Rue: The main protagonist of this short novel. He has messy brown hair, usually styled like the teens in 2010's. He often wears baggy jeans and baggy hoodies or jackets, which are lazily put together. His skin is white and his figure is averagely built. He is the older brother of Malory, at the age of 17. He cares deeply for his family and is rather compassionate towards others.
Malory: The second protagonist of the series. She is the younger sister of Rue and is 13 years old. She has long brown hair that's usually kept up in a ponytail. She is pretty slender and skinny for her age, but usually brings out her figure with the clothing she wears, the opposite of her lazier brother. She is usually a sweet, energetic sort of person.
Louis: The best friend of Rue. He is a kind person who enjoys spending time with Rue, and Malory when she's around. He makes sure to always speak his mind. He has a dirty ash blond hair colour that is unkept, and like Malory cares a bit about appearance, so tries making outfits. He has a bit of stubble growing above his mouth as he is trying to grow a moustache.
Rue and Malory's parents: They're both very busy people. Rue is told he looks like his mom often, while Malory looks like her dad in appearance. Majority of the time the two may be in their rooms working online, or have gone out to their respective jobs.
Elderly woman: She is unnamed, age is unknown. Who she is is unknown. She is a short stubby little woman with her thin hair tied up in a bun. She wears typical clothes of your average grandmother.
The story begins here…

Your mother promised her firstborn to a demon. Your father promised his to a fae. And while you still live with your parents, you have some very unusual aunts/uncles.
(A response to a writing prompt)
My friends always used to laugh when I told them I had the worst parents in the world. Like I was some angsty teen making the usual exaggerations a person around my age would make. I mean, sure. There are always worse parents, but mine would at least be in the top 10%. Maybe even the top 5% on an off day.
Who tries to sell their only son to not one but two supernatural entities? That had to go against some parental instinct, right? The worst part is, whenever I try to bring it up with them, they just go. ‘Oh, it worked out for the best, though.’ Like they shouldn’t be held accountable, just because things worked out. Sure, we were incredibly wealthy now, but that wealth should be mine, not theirs. Some days I just wanna-
“Aww, my sweet nephew’s first murder plot.” Uncle Firax grinned, the flash of his camera blinding me as he snapped a photo. The grinning red skinned demon getting oddly comfortable with the word nephew.
“UNCLE FIRAX, WE HAVE DOORS FOR A REASON.” I screamed, throwing my pillow in his general direction. He swiped it with his tail, letting the leathery appendage wrap around it, holding it close. “Wait, how did you know about that?”
“I can read minds. It’s a pretty common demon ability. It’s one of the many reasons why I’m better than that old aunt of yours. Did you know she wanted to cook you in a stew? How ghastly.” He said, always happy to spread a rumor or two, especially about his competition. He sat himself on the edge of my bed, handing the pillow back to me with his tail. “So, how would you kill them? Rusty knife? Pillow?”
A howl of wind rattled the windows, making Firax groan. Aunt Eria always made herself known with her entrances, storming up the stairs in a mighty huff. “And what dumb ideas are you polluting his head with now?” The short fae asked, crossing her arms over her chest. The silver locks of her hair glowing with a green aura of light, that being her nonsubtle way of telling someone she was prepared for a fight.
Firax’s eyes flashed red, extending the offer of a duel. “Ah, the short old lady herself. Haven’t you got a tree to kiss, or whatever it is you do?”
“Careful, keep that up and you’ll be dangling from a tree.”
“Oh? How so? Do you have a ladder you can use to get me up there?” He opened his palm, preparing a fireball, only for the fire to be extinguished before it could even make a spark. That heavy gust of wind she used sent me backwards, falling off the bed.
“BILLY.” They shouted, both rushing to my side.
“Look at what you did, you old bag. This is why you should stop seeing him. All you do is hurt people with your stupid powers and dumb riddles.” Firax grabbed my hand, causing my palm to burn. The heat from his fireball still radiating from the spot. When I squealed, he released my hand, backing away.
Eria took my hand, soothing it with her healing magic. A light green orb surrounding the spot, soothing the burns better than any ointment could. “And you don’t? What fool doesn’t understand their own strength? Why don’t you go back to hell? Mortal life doesn’t suit you.”
The two remained in a stare off, neither party giving an inch. After the burns healed, I released her hand, getting between the two. “Stop fighting! If you two can’t get along, then I don’t want either of you around me. I love both of you. Is that so hard to understand?”
“Ok, but which do you love….” Firax saw my glare and dropped the question. Understanding now wasn’t the time for that.
“My parents suck. They both tried to sell me to you two before I was even born. I barely consider them parents, since they’re always running off on holidays every second week. If anything, you two are my parents. Which is why it hurts so much when the two of you fight. You’re all that I have and if you can’t understand that, then you should….. YOU SHOULD BOTH GO TO HELL.” I snapped, storming out of the room. I grabbed a bag of salt from the kitchen as I passed it, making a line of salt outside of the bathroom door before locking it. With the door secured, I allowed myself to sulk, trying to work out my frustrations alone.
An hour passed as I ignored their pleas to come out and talk. I had forgiven them about thirty minutes ago, and was now sitting with my knees tucked to my chest, more out of embarrassment than anything. I couldn’t believe I had behaved like some Disney channel brat. Throwing the type of tantrum that was often reserved for cheap family dramas or comedies. The salt was cruel, too, knowing that neither could pass a salted barrier. Sure, they still had the bathroom window, but I think they got the message that I wanted to be alone when I salted the door.
“I’m an asshole.” I mumbled, resting my head against the cool wall. “Just like my parents.” It was a bitter pill to swallow, knowing that I had to grow up with their DNA. It was like being shot in the leg by the starting gun of life. While others got to start their life with a sprint, I had to limp.
Then, a smell hit my nose. “Burning?” I feared the worst. They must have started fighting because of what had happened. Rushing out the door, I poked my head around the corner, watching the two flour coated entities poke at the oven door, unsure how to deal with the smoke coming out of it.
“How hot did you set it?” Eria asked.
“Max.”
“Max?”
“Yeah, like as high as it could go. Thought it would make it cook faster.”
Eria balled her hands into fists, doing everything within her power to keep herself from shoving the demon’s head into the oven. “I see. I will overlook that, for Billy’s sake.” She said, releasing a long breath that sent a chill through the room.
“Speaking of overlooking things. How many eggs did you put in?”
“Eight. I thought he might need the extra protein. Protein helps humans get strong, doesn’t it?”
Flames came out of the demon’s nostrils as he shook his head. “OK, I will overlook that because I didn’t read the instructions either.” He said, doing his best not to start an argument. “We messed this up, didn’t we?”
Eria sighed. “Yeah. It was foolish to think cookies would fix the problem. It’s strange. My kind aren’t known for being very affectionate, yet when he said he loved me. I couldn't help but feel touched.”
The demon nodded, letting his fingers slide into his pockets. “I get that. Like suddenly you actually matter. You’re not just some creature anymore. You’re a person. Sounds dumb, doesn’t it?”
“It does. I understand that feeling, though. I guess we should make another batch.”
“I guess so. You’re not too bad as far as fae go,” Firax reluctantly said.
“And you’re not the worst demon I’ve met. I wish you would stop telling Billy I planned to turn him into a stew, though. I planned to use him for ingredients, its different.”
“I’ll stop saying that when you stop telling him I wanted to eat his soul.”
“Didn’t you?”
“I did, but I wish you would stop telling him that.”
As the two went to open the fridge, I rushed out, grabbing them both, pulling them together in a hug. “I’m so sorry, youweretryingsohardandIwasbeingmeanandi…” I gasped, struggling to breathe as I rushed out the words. A mix of salty tears and jumbled words making it hard to get anything out.
“Aww, sweetie. We’re the ones who need to be forgiven. You did nothing wrong.” Eria said, cuddling up to my side.
Frixa looked at the fae, still uneasy about being this close to her. After a moment of hesitation, he leaned into my other side, giving me a tight hug. “She’s right for once. It’s our fault. We made you some cookies?”
I sniffed the air, the burnt smell causing my nostrils to flinch. “Um, maybe we should make another batch? I’ll help this time.” I wiped my eyes before going to the fridge, working with them to create another batch. Happy to finally be able to spend some time with the two most important people in my life.

Lovette and Johnny knew eachother before she attended the school due to her brother. Hence why she’s cool with with greasers. But there first meeting wasss Fun! So here’s a short story I wrote for it.
The house was eerily quiet as Lovette padded down the grand staircase, the cool marble tiles chilling her bare feet. The glow from the chandelier above cast long, distorted shadows along the walls of her mother’s lavishly decorated home. The house always felt too big, too empty at night, like it swallowed up all the light and warmth. She was used to it, though. Living here was like residing in a museum—ornate, beautiful, and slightly unsettling when you were alone…scratch that is was like an asylum.
She had woken up thirsty, the dryness in her throat demanding a glass of water. Lovette usually avoided wandering around the house at night, preferring the safety of her room, but tonight was different. As she made her way toward the kitchen, she tried to shake off the unease that clung to her, convincing herself that nothing would be out of the ordinary.
But as she reached the kitchen doorway, Lovette froze.
Sitting at the table, illuminated by the dim light of the refrigerator, was a boy about her age. Perhaps a year or so older. He was casually munching on a bag of chips, his posture relaxed as if he belonged there. Lovette’s heart skipped a beat, her mind racing to make sense of the situation. Who was this stranger? How the fuck did heget in? Considering her mom went crazy with security after Lovette snuck out of the house ONCE. She was shocked a mere stranger could get in with seemingly no issues. She attempted to make a quiet step backwards. Hoping he didn’t notice her so she could head back to her room and call the cops.
*CREEEEEAAAAAAK.*
Stupid wooden floors.
The boy’s eyes met hers, and they both stared in shocked silence. For a moment, the only sound in the room was the faint crinkling of the chip bag.
Without thinking, Lovette’s hand shot out to the countertop, where a knife block sat. She grabbed the nearest one, gripping the handle tightly as she pointed it toward the intruder.
“Who the hell are you, and what are you doing in my house?” she demanded, her voice trembling but laced with a fierce determination. She could feel her pulse throbbing in her ears, but she didn’t waver, ready to defend herself if necessary.
The boy held up his hands, his eyes wide in surprise. “Hey, hey, relax! I’m not here to hurt you.” Lovette was quick to want to correct this teens bullshit, But Before Lovette could respond, she heard footsteps behind her, and a familiar voice cut through the tension.
“Lovette, calm down!” Her older brother,Jacob, appeared from the hallway, his expression a mix of amusement and exasperation, with a hint of irritation. He quickly moved between her and the boy, gently pushing the knife down. “It’s okay, he’s with me.” Lovette blinked, her grip on the knife loosening as she processed her brother’s words.
“Huh..? What?” The blood was still rushing in her ears.
“Hes with me. This is Johnny, Johnny Vincent. Hes in my gang” Her older brother informed her. Gesturing to the brown haired boy who gave her a wave. Keeping his distance of course.
Lovette felt the adrenaline slowly drain from her body, leaving her feeling shaky and a little embarrassed. She glanced at Johnny , who was now giving her an apologetic smile.
“I didn’t mean to scare you,” Johnny said cautiously. “I didn’t expect anyone to come down either.”
Lovette sighed, setting the knife back on the counter. “You scared the hell out of me,” she muttered, rubbing her temples as the tension left her shoulders. “Why didn’t you just tell me you were coming over Jacob ? Could have let you know when mom was asleep and snuck you in myself.”
Jacob chuckled, pulling her into a quick hug. “Sorry, kid. Didn’t think we’d need to alert the household for a midnight snack raid.”
Lovette pushed him away playfully, rolling her eyes. “Next time, maybe do that. Or at least give me a heads-up. Really didn’t wanna gut this guy here over Doritos.”
Johnny stood up from the table, still looking a bit awkward. “I’ll, uh, go wait in the car,” he said, giving Lovette a small nod before heading out of the kitchen.
As the kitchen door swung shut behind Jason, Lovette turned back to Jacob . “You need to stop bringing people here at night without telling anyone. Mom will catch you and call the cops.” Jacob grinned, clearly amused by the whole situation. “You handled yourself pretty well, though. Remind me not to get on your bad side.”
Lovette shook her head, a small smile creeping onto her lips. “Next time, just leave a note or something. I really don’t want to stab your friends.”
Jacob laughed, “You got it .”
Lovette grabbed the glass of water she had come down for and took a long sip, finally feeling her nerves settle. As she headed back upstairs, she couldn’t help but chuckle at the absurdity of the situation.
Not like it matters, she didn’t plan on seeing that kid again anyway.
Right?

Morphin Time: A Boom Studios Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Retrospective: Issues 0 and 1 (Patreon Review for Brotoman.exe)
It's Morphin Time all you happy people! Yes folks it's time once again to launch another respective! And this time we're looking at a series i've only glanced at. Yes it's time to let the power protect us as we look at the BOOM Studios! Power Rangers Comics.
If your reading this post you probably DON'T need an introduction to the mighty morphin power rangers, but the short version for those of you who stumbled into this because you like kermit the frog, because you have good taste and deserve good things: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is the first in the long running massively popular Power Rangers Franchise, a cheesy series that followed five 90's as hell saved by the bell looking teenagers with attitude who were picked by a blue tube man and his nerdy robot son to fight the evil sorceress rita replusa, who tube man zordon had left on the moon in a dumpster which astronauts found. Our heroes would spend the days with various teen shenanigans, fight a monster, then Rita would MAKE HER MONSTER GROW, they'd get in a super fighting robot using stock footage and the day would be saved. The teens also reguarly delt with bumbling dumbasses and everyone's faviorite characters bulk and skull. Rita eventually remembered she had a shiny power coin of her own, so she turned new kid and franchise icon Tommy Oliver into her own green ranger. After a dope as hell 5 parter, the rangers defeated their new counterpart, freed him and turned him to his side. There's a bunch more including peace confrences, australian cat women, failed kamen rider spinoffs, aliens, flying cars, robot ninjas, ooze men who aren't canon sadly, skydiving that also isn't canon, marriage being the greatest evil scheme of all, baby carraiges, many a cast change, and explosions. And that's just the first series, but for today's comic we really only need to get up to when Tommy joined as that's when this story began.
The comic came about during Boom's big mid 10's liscensing boom period, with tons of licenses from Adventure Time, Regular Show and Steven Universe, to Rocko and Rugrats, to John Fucking Carpenter himself co writing a Big Trouble in Little China comic. It was really the companies golden age as big hits like Giant Days were also out and about, though the companies mildly pivoted more towards the indies these days. Not a bad move given their backlog includes Giant Days, Once and Future and Lumberjanes. The former two are some of my faviorite comics period with Giant Days possibly being my faviorite comics run period, while the latter is something I badly want adapted but keeps getting jerked around in that regard.
BOOM is kinda the middle child of the big indies. Image is the big shadow looming over all, regularly churning out era defining comics like Invincible, Radiant Black (A comic I badly want to read from the same creator as this book and it's sister book go go power rangers), Saga (Which I haven't read but have heard good things) or the Wicket + The Divine, as well as smaller stone cold classics still close to my heart like Chew and Farmhand, with it now getting into lisensed work with the Energon Universe. IDW was at least for a long time ahead lisensing wise and tends to recover quickly there and still has both Sonic, which has had an impressive and healthy run and TMNT, which ran for 150 issues and has had nearly that many alongside it in mini series, crossovers, mini series for other continuities, and one shots and is about to relaunch next month, and Dark Horse which while fumbling for a bit has steadily rebounded becoming both a lisensing juggernaught once again. In contrast boom used to lean heavily on it's lisenses while allowing it to take risks on indie titles, oftne paying off with stuff like again Giant Days.
Still Power Rangers , likely like TMNT at IDW, provides a nice stable backbone overall, with this very book having ran for 8 years ending this year, and it being clear Hasbro isn't leaving BOOM. In addition to a long as hell main book, the series has had two diffrent companion series: GoGo Power Rangers, my personal faviorite, which covers the teams adventures just after getting their powers up to right before green with evil, and Mighty Morphin, which followed a second team I can't get into much but you've probably heard about. And that's not getting into the mini series, graphic novels, and other various power rangers spinoffs, alternate universe things, etc. Boom has been good to the franchise, this franchise has been good to him and despite wondering if the end of the mighty morphin series means the end of power rangers, it's clear the company has no signs of loosing their cash cow even after Saban sold it to Hasbro.
So that brings us to this series. The Boom Continuity is a soft reboot of the Mighty Morphin era: It's now set in modern day with modern fashion and Bulk and Skull naturally running a youtube channel, more on that later, but a lot of the event sof the show still happened. No word on if they fought the rapping pumpkin still but i'm inclined to go with "Yes". So the series picks up right after green with evil but dosen't take place in the same universe as the live action shows, something they seemed to bounce back and forth about for a bit before deciding "Nah".
They also decided to start right after green with evil instead of adapt it though I expect it's part an audience thing, most people picking it up or reading this various article know the broad strokes, and part simply wanting to tell their own stories, as that's more attractive to fans than an adaptation anyways.
So our series picks up with the team having a new member and decides to play with that a bit, with our first arc having Tommy adapting to being a ranger, having a tight knit friend group, and the voice of the woman who brainwashed him in his head voicing all his insecurities. So you know, high school. It leads into a larger arc with a big beastie, world destruction and an evil tommy I haven't read, having only read this first 6 issues and thought they were fine. I later read gogo in full and read through the necessary evil era by writer Ryan Parrot, so I haven't dove into this era of rangers that deeply. But now thanks to brotoman i'm going in deep, from the start to at least the massive shattered grid crossover. Wether we go on AFTER that... is up to him, but i'm fine wither way and curious to see if this series improves a bit in my eyes on a second look. So get out your morpher, shout tyransaurus or doot on a flute, however you prefer and let's look at MMPR #0 and #1
We start at 0. This was, as far as I can tell so they could release an issue before the proper run to hype the series up at conventions and such, something I can't blame them for: Power Rangers had had a history in comics, a marvel series at their height, a few others after, and most recently before this a few graphic novels by papercutz for samurai, mega force and mighty morphin itself. Nothing bad, but not really the big nostalgic rollout other franchises had had in comics and nothing aimed at older fans of the franchise like this, so they had every reason to hype it.
Picking mighty morphin was also a good call. It's what the public knows as power rangers, it has a simple enough setup to explore with some depth while stilll getting that nostalgia pop that makes money. I do hope they move on from it as while I like MMPR, I grew up with it and all the franchise has had a MASSIVE life after it I've discovered thanks to history of power rangers. MMPR isn't bad and some projects kinda HAVE to be this: launching in it was the right call as is the upcoming brawler rita's rewind, which I intend to buy as soon as it comes out, being set there as MMPR had a smorgasbord of games in the 16 bit era, I just think expanding a bit beyond one arc covering a team made up of legacy rangers and a few graphic novels isn't a bad idea and i'm glad ranger academy exists for that. At the very least i'm mistified they've only done the dream team concept once so far.
We begin the issue with the green ranger having.. killed everyone with Rita praising him and him willing to serve and please make it stop. '
Thankfully it does as this was all just a dream by one Tommy Oliver, the ranger among rangers. Jason asks what ya dreamin about bud but can't really get through to him, with Tommy deflecting it's just nervous it's his first day. And I do like the response a lot. It's one of the better scenes in these first two issues
It's simple but it really works for me and shows the sheer pressure they have. YOu may of also noticed rita. This isn't the real her but a voice in the back of tommy's head voicing all his doubts. I hear you tommy, my anxiety also resembles a witch. WOn't stop rhyming or talking about that bear and bird. It's exhausting.
I like this concept: That Tommy dosen't get over his guilt at what he did while mind controlled or his doubts easily and has trouble fitting into the gang: while Jason and Kimberly warmly welcome him, it's clear they already have a vibe going, with the gang being blindsided by a test they thought was next week. It's hard to crack in and Rita may be all of tommy's insecurities manifested as his greatest enemy.. but she has a point: do they even want him too. And as we'll find out next issue while most are open to it, one of them very much dosen't.
That said while I like this concept.. it has flaws. For one focusing so heavily on Tommy.. means the others don't really get to do much this issue, bantering a bit about Billy's push notification obession and setting up who they are for new readers, as well as hinting at Zack not liking tommy much, but otherwise it's mostly on tommy and most we get from him at least early on is he's a sad boy. I'm not saying he has no reason to be.. but it may of not been the best choice to do this story arc one. It would've been better to have some time to get to know our six, let tommy's unease and zack's tension build.. but instead at arc one tommy is at a pretty low point, and the story goes up to 10 right after this with a huge crisis. There isn't time for our characters to settle before the world gets flipped upside down.
Part of this is being spoiled by later series GoGo Power Rangers, with Ryan Parrot having a more relaxed take: There's an ongoing story to it, but it's more focused on fleshing out the five teenagers with attitude (minus Tommy as it takes place before Green with Evil). It's why his later run with necessary evil, while also starting with the rangers in a tight spot as it takes place just after the transfer of power and has team adjusting to three new recurits and tommy adjusting to leadership... flows better to me. It let the characters build so when it puts them in a tight spot, you feel more. Here it feels like Kyle Higgins has a LOT of plot he wants to get to so he lets the characters hurt a bit. We do get more character intreractoin next issue that helps a bit but i'm hoping this arc has more than I remember.
At class we get a talk about counter intellegence before i'ts morphin time: Rita has evil plans, as we see iwth a cutaway to her moon fortress which looks as cool as ever, and she sends Bullzer down.
And look I don't want to make this review "Oops all gripes".. but we have another problem right away: the monster design.
As you can see... Bullzer.. is really generic and trying to be scary. And i'm not against making a monster intimidating, tha'ts fine. But it dosen't look.. power rangers. I'm not asking the artists to imitate cheap rubber or have it be a skeleton with a fancy hat. I would prefer bones but I love skellingtons. I just do. But the monsters were creative. You had guys like my guy eye guy whose just made of eyes or pudgy pig whose a pig head in a roman soldier helmet. I mean sure looking thorugh a gallery of season 1 monsters there were duds
But even mr ticklesneezer, and yes that is his legal god given name, is at least creative being trini's childhood doll made into this abomination. They even had, to my shock a better looking gamera knockoff
Is he a tad goofier? Yes. Does he still have dope claws and the name shell shock. Yes. Im not saying you have to be as campy.. but it's weird to have no camp when the costumes and zords aren't changed. You didn't update the zords to look more realistic, thank god, why are the monsters suddenly trying to be more down to earth? I'm not asking for rapping pumpkins or pudgy pigs or that fucking elf, please for mr ticklesneezer's sake
But it put me off the book instantly that the first monster they fight and most they do , if my memory serves..a re just bland generic monsters. I like a good turtle boy, but this is just... trying too hard to be "ADULT" and "EDGIER". I"m not saying power rangers can't tackle complex topics but I am saying you can't forget that it's still power rangers
To contrast this I went to look up gogo's first monster and I do wish he was a tad campier too
But while Flog here is also generic.. he at least dosen't stick out as much like a sore thumb. He's still perhaps a bit too hyper realistic for this universe, but details like the simple mildly goofy name, the earring, the bhoots.. it feels like they put a bit more effort in. I get Bullzer is just a one off.. but so was most every other power rangers monster. The people at super sentai put hard work into these things.. most of the time and the people on saban's end had to come up with new names and gimmicks. Sometimes they were horrible ideas but it feels like more effort was put in. Hopefully this gets better.
The fight itself thoguh is neat as the team has to use strategy as gamera's angsty teenage son has thick armor, while Tomm'ys ptsd anxiety ghost rita causes him to freeze up at points. he's able to beat the monster, giving it a drill that will pierce the heavens.. but freezes when trying to save a bridge. Tommy blames it on technicals and Jason.. is a bit of a dick and blames it on tommy not following orders, as he rushedin at the start of a fight. Zordon tells them both to cut that shit out: Jason needs to help loop tommy in better and Tommy needs to ask for help. And they both need to prepare: while getting Tommy back from rita was a big victory, Rita is petty.. and her revenge is coming. Rather than possess a teenager struggling with his sexualityt hough her plan is instead to have Scorpia fish a crystal out of a river. A new era begins.
We then get a backup story that was in the back of my trade so I only read it as I wrote this, but boy it is fun: The Ongoing Adventures of Bulk and Skull. Since BOOM! knew who the real heroes were, we got this backup feature with our heroes in all their glory, written by gay icon Steve Orlando. Orlando's been easily one of my favoirite comics writers, currently writing the phenominal scarlet witch ongoing at marvel and formerly having reinvented midnighter at dc before taking on the justice league with his own nicely mismatched team.
It's a short two issue gag story as Bulk and Skull deal with Principal Caplan: Caplan is an excessively minor power rangers character who as far as I can tell mainly showed up to be a foil to our faviorite goofuses. It's still a nice deep cut and I love the joke about him having taken up glassblowing for the stress, made a scream jar and somehow filled it. "Screams have no mass! Your not supposed to fill it!". They use a large deli lunch order to escape and then try to hit on some girls unsuccessfully who are more intrested in the rangers. It's there Bulk gets a terrible idea: if girls like the power rangers, then they'll BECOME power rangers. A truly perfect bulk and skull shenanigan.
There's another backup that's beautfiully drawn, but i'll mostly skip as it's just a one off fight with goldar. Not bad at all, lot of fun, but not why we're here. Granted Bulk and Skull isn't either, but it's both a dedicated backup and a nice bit of levity after all the emo.
Speaking of which our proper first issue opens with the dynamic duo giving a recap of events up to the start of this series on their youtube channel RANGER STATION. Ranger Station is a fantastic concept: our doofy heroes always had some shenanigan or hustle going and later zeroed in on finding out who the rangers were... this just combines their two schticks perfectly. I love Skull interjecting, Bulk saying every episode is someone's first and their gateway to susbscribe which is how I approach my blog so, respect, and we have Skull plugging their premium content which would be on a patreon these days, just like the early days of this blog. My patreon is still active by the way and 5 dollar contributors get a 5 dollar review a month. If they can shill for themselves so can I.
They recap the events so far: how the power rangers came about when rita did, green with evil and now the shocking development from the 0 issue: The Green Ranger has joined the team. Bulk is naturally super pumped but asks the average citzen what they think. Some think due to the bridge mishap, Tommy's still evil, the first woman theya sk has the very valid point of wanting the rangers to you know, explain why the guy who tried to kill everyone is now on their side. And given the Rangers DO have the valid explination of "the person behind the monster sbrainwashed them"... yeah probably shoudl've done a press release. And one guy thinks it's too many colors. He later died of cardiac arrest when we got up to 8 ranger teams.
Bulk and Skull end up talking to tommy, who is awkard and Kim luckily is able to ward them off. Tommy plans to get some training in after school so Kim joins him to spend time with her crush then hopefully get a coffee date. Kim has game.
Issue 1 is step up in tone. I complained a lot and likely will again about the sries sometimes bleak tone... but this issue ballances the every day stuff better with the teenagers with attitude. Since Tommy isn't seeing PTSD Rita EVERY second, we get a chance to breathe, still feel him doubting himself and wallowing in self loathing, but not be strangled by it.
We then get Jason and Zack in class where an assholish teacher wakes Zack up from his nap and puts him in detention for it. Now you might say "Jake that's not exactly a dick move, he shouldn't sleep in class" and to that I say... captain beard has no idea WHY Zack did. He could have a job, of had an emergency. All Zack says is "I didn't get enough sleep", but given how stressful teenagers lives are, there's a LOT of reasons for that beyond "Ranger Stuff". I"m not saying it's good to sleep in class but i'm saying maybe talk to your student. And when Jason tries to stand up for him... he also gets detttention.
The rangers have lunch and break down their plans; Kim's hanging with tommy, Jason and Zack are in a dettention Zack boldy assumes he could get out of.. though then again I do have this pet theory that like zack morris he can freeze time because all zacks have that power, so maybe Jason jumped in too soon. Tommy tries to join in but they all gotta go, diffrent lunch periods. We then get Bulk interviewing Jason who stands up for Tommy.. but it's clear Zack's a bit more hesitant.
Meanwhile we go to Rita's Moon Castle, where she's working on her vauge evil plan: the mystery crystal what Scorpina dredged out of the river is charged a bit thanks to the bullzer but it needs more energy... apparnetly too much green energy can be dangerous too.
In class Jason clearly knows SOMETHING'S up with Zack and why he can't sleep no good, and tells zack he's ready to listen when he's ready to tell him. IT's a nice friendship moment. After Zack asks if Jason's SURRREEE all this okay. Jason admits that Zordon adding tommy to the team without asking them sucks.. but Zordon picked them. If he has faith in tommy, they have to trust that. I do like this tension, that adding someone who just attacked them, brainwashed or not isn't easy. I also like that, as we'll get later, ther'es more to Zack's issues than just being the token douche. His backstory behind this is still a TAD douchey but it's intresting.
Tommy and Kim are up next running a training sim. Unfortunately for them... it's a kobiashi maru bitch. The survivors their leading from some putties.. get lead straight into some and if they hadn't, they would've gotten squished. Tommy.. can't accept that and Kim sadly accepts she's not getting a date... but dosen't you know.. TELL him she's upset. "Sigh" Teen Angst, I do not like reliving it.
We end the issue with Tommy mopnig at home.. only for Scorpina to hav ea knife to this throat.
TO BE CONTINUED
We continue bulk and skulls antics before we go: the two race to the scene of a battle and accidently knock out a putty thinking he's a guy asking for directions. Good stuff. Bulk decides he can use this. He'll fight the thing for a raging crowd! or something.
So that ends our first look at boom and while I had a LOT to gripe about the first issue the second.. is much better. It feels like the characters have more room to breathe and thus get fleshed out. Granted issue 0 was just supposed to be a slow start.. but given there was a backup story thrown in there to fill the issue, it would've made more sense ot just.. do a full issue teaser since issue 0 still kicks off events. Still so far the series isn't bad and might be better than I remember. Either way this is going to be a long trip and I thank you all for coming with me. May the power protect you.

Hi guys, thanks so much for the reblogs and likes on my fanfics! Here's my own Sinner Oc her name is Kerryn and this is her backstory. Enjoy!
She's a sinner with the potential to become an overlord, who died via a huge explosion she caused taking vengeance on some big wig assholes who tortured her little brother for fun, and burned the house she lived in with her mother still inside. She showed remorse for her actions choosing to die in said explosion when she saw innocents getting killed in the crossfire chaos.
Kerryn is supposed to resemble a dragon which in most terms is wrath and chaos, but has big wings much like a valkyrie due to her killing out of vengeance. Her main power includes explosive magic which can cause massive damage if unchecked.
Kerryn when alive used to live in Chicago with her parents and little brother Brom, but an accident occurred forcing the family to flee to Moose Jaw. This accident involved her father Jaeger when he brutalized a woman in the woods and fed his dark primal cannibal urges. He would often beat Kerryn's kind hearted mother Johanna, however when he found Kerryn trying to stop him, he went after the children, Kerryn stepped up to protect her family and stabbed her father in the chest, her eyes losing their innocent shine as this was the beginning of her damning her soul at the age of seven.
Finally free from his abuse the family fled to Moose Jaw, living in a small run down home for awhile, with Johanna recovering and the family starving, Kerryn used her small yet speedy body to steal food from places plus money from people to pay the rent. Her mother, unable to work due to injury, became a sex worker, prowling among the streets if it meant her children were fed. Kerryn snuck into her local junkyard to train since she had to protect her mother and little brother now, becoming a fast and hard hitting street fighter as a result.
Kerryn, now seventeen and ready to fight with her five foot seven frame, managed to take down guys that were bigger than her when they tried to start shit. She had no warmth in her eyes. They had become colder and dull with each fight, which she left her attackers begging for mercy at the end of it. Kerryn held no interest in love or sex for anyone, her human skin pale but often coated with grime, her brown hair short to keep others from pulling it in a fight, and her clothes almost ragged with a rotten old shirt and pants to keep her warm. Her soft, innocent brown eyes had become stern and fierce with several scars littering her lean built frame.
She was known as “The Dragon” or “Draco” for her fierce prowess as she was often mistaken for a man due to how she always kept her soft sounding voice quiet.
However, a fateful encounter turned her living hell into somewhat bearable. Kerryn was out with her mask on ready to steal to help her family, she managed to sneak into one of her targets homes, a big wig man named Mortes, what she didn't expect however was that the man had a daughter her age. At first, Kerryn crept around while the guards patrolled the halls, keeping hidden and quiet, until she ducked into a room that had the daughter inside. The girl was afraid as one of the guards was attempting to assault her. Kerryn then stabbed the man’s neck, ending his life with a quick jab and carefully tossing his corpse out the window.
Brown cold eyes met innocent, scared greenish blue. At first, the daughter was afraid but then realized Kerryn did it to save her, causing her small shaking frame to calm down a little. Reminded of her little brother, Kerryn softens and goes over only to lightly pet the other teen on the head and whisper comforting words to the other girl.
It was because of that event Kerryn had for the first time a friend to call her own, slowly becoming softer and kind. The daughter she later learned was named Hazel and had been sickly her entire life. The two bonded in the small room with Hazel bringing some of that innocence back to the cold emptiness that had become Kerryn's heart as it had been trying to come out more around her family, her treasure.
Hazel had started to become a part of the treasure hoard as Kerryn kept coming back to her, The Dragon had finally found peace in those slender arms, and a warm gaze with her own warmth bursting out like an explosion. Awkward yet brave, Kerryn told Hazel about this strange new feeling burning inside and that she liked it only for the smaller five foot teen to reply she felt the same way and gave her a soft peck to the cheek.
It was later Hazel realized she was damned. She was having feelings for another woman, straying far from her Father's Christian teachings. Kerryn tried to comfort her but was caught by Mortes, who looked furious. It became a scuffle as the older man tried to rip the two apart, however when Kerryn was beaten down, Hazel shook and tried to stop her father only to make the man slip out the window and impale himself on the fence spike below.
Hazel froze and started to shake. Kerryn, despite having a bloody nose, rushed over and held Hazel close. “You can't stay here… You have to go.” Those words rang in Kerryn's head, but the other girl replied with a soft pleading. “Come with me then.”
Hazel sobbed but winced her chest, hurting again. “I can't. Otherwise, I would.” Her voice was strained as she looked around for her medicine but stopped. “Please let me just lay here with you. That's all I want.”
That night, Kerryn watched her first ever love kill and then be punished for it, falling into death's embrace. She knew Hazel had a weak heart, but once footsteps were heard and Kerryn was found, her back turned to the man that was Hazel's Uncle. She left behind the body she wished she could've taken with her.
This spurred the brother of Mortes, Francis to hunt Kerryn down, taking glee in making her suffer, first with the fire that killed the mother, and then second with an explosion that killed the little brother. Kerryn broke and stormed the place, littering it with explosives, her heart torn in pieces, her mind rushing with wrath and pride. Pride to be the one to take down her family's killer and wrath because of the vengeance she brought down.
