Following an accident, Danny wakes up in Gotham City in a DC universe. Lacking any forms of ID or possessions beyond the clothes on his back, he’s forced to commit some crimes to survive. Minor crimes, but still.

And then he gets caught.

During the court proceedings, they come to the mistaken conclusion that he’s a Meta suffering from some psychiatric issues such as Cotard’s Syndrome (a real rare condition where a person holds the delusional belief that they’re dead/don’t exist/etc).

Thus, between his “need for mental treatment” and the concerns about housing someone with his unique physical traits, he is sentenced to spend time in Arkham Asylum. He’s under pretty low security aside from the anti-Meta stuff and has more freedoms than some other inmates, but it’s still not a great experience. Even at the best of times, Arkham is hardly a nice place.

Some of his fellow residents are decently chill all things considered, but lots very much aren’t.

I just realized that Arya's wrath at Chiswyck for recounting the cruel gangrape of the innkeeper's daughter is as much about justice as it is personal. She had seen the soldiers assault girls while on the road to Harrenhal and she was terrified for herself. She had seen them cut one of the girls down when she resisted and she, herself was threatened with rape by Rorge. Before Jaqen offered her 3 boons, she felt helpless and weak, reduced to a squeaking mouse from a ravenous wolf. It was traumatizing, it was humiliating, it was a prison that she had been forced into.

So the soldiers laughing about raping Layna, brought all of it back up, it made her see how little her fear ( and Layna's fear) mattered to these men, how little the violence meant to them. It was a joke to these soldiers while Arya felt her fire die everyday. It makes sense why Chiswyck would be the first name Arya would give Jaqen and I am so fucking proud that she did.

I don't think kids really need to be protected from "inappropriate" content so much as they need the tools and safe adults in their lives to handle when they encounter things that they need help with, BUT I will say that there is a growing amount of misinformation and disinformation being spread online that is deliberately targeted towards children and people need to be aware of that and prepare for it.

I'm not exaggerating in the slightest when I say it took about a week of watching Youtube Kids for my baby sister to start parroting Q-Anon level conspiracies about the government hiding the fact that extinct animals like wooly mammoths and saber tooth tigers are still alive. This wasn't innocent shit, she was getting genuinely upset about the government supposedly watching her through the security cameras of a sandwich restaurant.

There are people out there, especially content farms, who knowingly and deliberately spread misinformation to children specifically and who knowingly spread disinformation about basic scientific facts. And that's not even getting into content farms that share "life hacks" that get kids injured or killed.

The internet is becoming more dangerous for kids and it has very little to do with fanfiction, it's almost all because corporations like youtube prioritize their profits over the safety of children.

took a break to stop screaming at the ONE PART of the chapter I’m working on (which is the VERY last scene and a half of the entire thing, btw, which makes it all the more frustrating that words refuse to come) to do some doodles that I told myself to wait to do until i finished the chapter. I was in bed and heard a startled and winded "oof" coming from the puppy pen. This was a concerning sound so I went to investigate only to see this little face (seven) outside of the pen, pausing her illicit wanderings to pee in the middle of the floor.

I can only assume she climbed onto my chair, something a couple of the puppies have done on occasion, then climbed up the reclining back of the chair, climbed onto the seat of a bar chair beside the pen and at the same height as the top of the pen, then over the second chair, then fell to the floor beneath.

It was quite the intrepid escape, and she almost got away with it!

Now there is a laundry basket on the chair to prevent additional escape attempts and Seven, who appears to be uninjured and unbothered by the fall, is back in puppy prison where she belongs.

Good thing we plan to send her to a sport home!!

headcanon: when aaravi both feels safe enough and has people who genuinely care about her/encourage her and can genuinely excite her and make her feel happy, she gets wiggly. not just in being unable to sit still in her head, but also in terms of flappy hands, constant need to move around, getting up and pacing, touching and grabbing other people, getting even louder, exaggerating her movements and emotions even greater, and generally just doing everything she can to try and shake out all of the excess electric energy that she suddenly feels coiled up inside of her and doesn't know how to deal with.

its fairly uncommon due to all the usual reasons (having to forcibly repress her emotions, fear of rejection and abandonment, people lashing out at her due to the specific way she shows joy, people just outright hating aaravi and not letting her have this happiness), but if someone's lucky enough to experience that from her it feels like sitting in a ray of sunshine just to see her happy.
