So uh. Mom’s in the ER.
She’s on the mend but they might keep her overnight for other medical reasons and I’m keeping it together best I can. With comedy. She’s been cracking jokes too— and is worried about missing work.
Please consider supporting me on KoFi! I look after my elderly mom and have been helping with her expenses since last year. The meds for her blood pressure will likely cost a bit. She’s got Medicare and that’ll help a bit but the rest will be on me.
She’s also gonna be missing a few days of work as a result. Since she may be getting admitted for other health issues. This woman is stubborn as hell and doesn’t bother with a doctor til she’s literally incapable of work.
Supporters can get cool voice work as thanks, art, or cool graphics. Honestly I will do anything. Voice act comics. Read you stories. Whatever. Please.
We were struggling as it was. This is so much more.

⇢ word count: 6.9k ⇢ genre: fluff, established relationship, secret relationship, office workers!jisung & reader, holiday themed, a bit of a crackfic (everyone in this is slightly unhinged and you should NOT act like them in your actual workplace PLEASE), appearances from absolute nuisances nohyuck (mainly hyuck being a nuisance and jeno being a desk candy bowl thief) and chill boss johnny (he’s actually the only normal one around this office fr), part of my 2024 hallmark movie marathon ⇢ warnings: lots of discussions of sex/sleeping together (nohyuck have an absolutely unhinged plot to have reader hook up w jisung w/o realizing that they’re already dating, shenanigans ensue) ⇢ extra info: this was originally going to be part of want from me, but i felt like i was losing the plot a bit, so i tweaked some stuff and made it its own fic instead this is part of my 2024 hallmark movie marathon, three short, unrelated fics starring jisung all with cheesy hallmark christmas movie-esque premises. there’s no continuing plotline between fics in this series, they’re all standalone fics ⇢ author’s note: ok i may be stretching the concept of a ‘cheesy hallmark movie’ in this one, but there’s a holiday party. sue me. ⇢ 2024 hallmark movie marathon

“You need to fuck Jisung.” Donghyuck sat on your desk the following Monday, nearly knocking your cup of pens over.
“What happened to hello? How are you?”
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/e2a1af316917c875f5820cc3efa0ee85/f2c8614e827f9ac0-74/s500x750/ae560e1ba6a173a6b4a9561b8658e2c8312a97ce.jpg)
“I get why you didn’t want to tell anybody when I was interviewing,” Jisung sighed as you adjusted his tie for him. “But don’t you think everyone’s formed their own opinions about me by now?”
“You told me Mr. Kang called you Joosung yesterday,” you pointed out. “We agreed after your three-month evaluation, remember?”
“That’s next month!”
“Two weeks. December tenth, to be exact, will be three months since you started.”
“I know, I know.” He pulled you closer by your hips, burying his face in your neck. “Thank you.”
You rested one hand on the nape of his neck, the other stroking his hair. “I hate it too. I was in the bathroom yesterday and overheard a couple of the women from budgeting talking about you. Apparently one of them wants to ask you to the holiday party.”
He lifted his head up, squinting with confusion. “Wait, was it Song Minji from budgeting?”
“Yes…”
“Yesterday she asked me if I was going, I said yes, then she asked if I had a date, and I said no, and she said she didn’t either. Then she just stared at me. It was really awkward, so I told her I had to get back to my spreadsheets and walked away.”
You burst out laughing, covering your mouth as your boyfriend continued looking down at you with absolutely endearing confusion. Patting his cheek, you informed him gently, “She was waiting for you to ask her to the party, baby.”
“Well, even if I knew that, I wouldn’t have,” he huffed.
“I know, Sungie,” you kissed his cheek. “I know.”
“Good.”
You glanced at the time on your bedside clock, tapping his arm indicatively. “We’ve got to go.”
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/e2a1af316917c875f5820cc3efa0ee85/f2c8614e827f9ac0-74/s500x750/ae560e1ba6a173a6b4a9561b8658e2c8312a97ce.jpg)
“Y/N, someone from bookkeeping will be over to pick these receipts up today,” Mr. Suh, your boss, informed you, setting a large banker box down on the ledge behind your computer monitor.
You nodded. “You sure you don’t want me to just take them over there now?”
Bookkeeping was on the same floor as your team, just on the opposite side of the large office building.
“No, I’ve got six more boxes in my office. They should be coming with a dolly. I’ve got a lunch meeting, then I’m on-site at a build. Can you make sure they get them all?”
“Of course. See you tomorrow, then.”
“Thank you. See you tomorrow.” He smiled and reached into your candy bowl, securing a chocolate for himself before heading off towards the elevator.
As you continued working up your reports, another figure approached your desk.
“Hi.” Jisung smiled down at you from over the banker box.
“And what is a bookkeeping gremlin doing over here?” You teased, having already spotted the bright orange dolly next to him. “They let you guys out of your cages?”
“Just me, because I’m on a mission.” He did a little mock salute, making you giggle. He then looked between the dolly and the box. “But I don’t really think this was necessary…”
“There’s six more boxes in Mr. Suh’s office,” you informed him happily, pointing to your boss’ door.
“Oh.”
Two of your team members, Donghyuck and Jeno, congregated around your desk then as well, Jeno zeroing in on your candy bowl as always, and Donghyuck snooping at what you were doing on your screen.
“Boring!” Hyuck declared, hitting CTRL + S on your keyboard to save it for you before exiting out of the program. “Lunchtime!”
“Hey, I was working on that, you know,” you protested, keeping up your usual banter with your work friend.
“Now you’re not,” he shrugged.
“Actually, you were chatting with…” Jeno trailed off, looking at Jisung expectantly.
“Jisung,” your boyfriend filled in.
“—You were chatting with Jisung when we got here,” Jeno finished, popping another chocolate in his mouth and tucking it in his cheek to talk around it. “So you weren’t really working.”
“She was telling me where the other boxes of receipts were,” Jisung explained quickly, gesturing to the dolly. “I’m supposed to pick them up. I’m from bookkeeping.”
Hyuck scanned him from head to toe. “You’re new, right?”
He nodded.
“Come to lunch with us.”
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/e2a1af316917c875f5820cc3efa0ee85/f2c8614e827f9ac0-74/s500x750/ae560e1ba6a173a6b4a9561b8658e2c8312a97ce.jpg)
“No, Hyuck,” you snorted, cutting up your food as your coworker attempted to show you a picture of another one of his friends over lunch. “The last asshole you set me up with stood me up, remember?”
“I told you, Jaemin got a stomach bug!” Hyuck insisted. “And that was like, over a year ago!”
You looked at him pointedly. “And he could text you but not me? Think about it.”
“Okay, so he was a flake, but Mark is like, a really good guy!” He elbowed your other coworker next to him. “Jeno, back me up!”
Jeno shrugged. “Eh, he seems like the kind of guy to call you ‘bro’ in bed.”
“Not the kind of back-up I meant!”
“Am I wrong?”
“Why are you thinking about what Mark would call you in bed, Jeno?” You snickered.
He stuck his tongue out at you, and you mimicked him.
Hyuck pushed on in his seemingly never-ending pursuit to set you up with his also never-ending pool of single friends. “Ignore him, Y/N. Will you at least consider? For me? Your bestest friend?”
“I never see you outside of work functions,” you pointed out.
“Please? Pretty please? Pretty pretty please?”
“Whatever. Send me his CV,” you said noncommittally, taking a bite of your food.
“On it!”
“Wait, he’s applying for a job?” Jisung finally spoke from his seat beside you, his confusion apparent.
“No, that’s just what they call whatever information Hyuck sends her about the guys he tries to set her up with,” Jeno explained for him. “It ends up being pretty much the same stuff that’s on a résumé, though.”
Hyuck then focused in on a new target. “Jisung, what about you?”
He froze. “What?”
“Are you single?”
“Uhm—”
“Lie if you have to,” you advised. “Once he smells blood, you’re done for.”
“I’m not a shark!” Hyuck took great offense to this comparison. “I’m-I’m like Cupid!”
You let out a derisive laugh at that, stabbing your fork into your food and lifting your next bite to your mouth.
“I’ve got a girlfriend,” Jisung answered hurriedly.
Hyuck narrowed his eyes suspiciously. “So you’re bringing her to the Christmas party.”
“I-I don’t know, we uhm—we just started seeing each other.”
“You’ll bring her to the next monthly mixer, then?”
“I’m pretty sure this is workplace harassment,” you stepped in on Jisung’s behalf, giving Hyuck a disapproving look. “We had a seminar, remember?”
“You’re not curious?”
“No, I don’t care to see you bother poor Jisung for the rest of our fleeting lunch break.”
“Fine, I won’t disturb Y/N’s precious lunch break,” he gave in melodramatically. “But I want to hear about her when we get back to the office, Jisung.”
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/e2a1af316917c875f5820cc3efa0ee85/f2c8614e827f9ac0-74/s500x750/ae560e1ba6a173a6b4a9561b8658e2c8312a97ce.jpg)
When you and Jisung got home that evening, you waited until the two of you had gotten out of your work clothes to address the pout on his lips that had been present ever since lunch.
“What’s wrong?” You asked, sitting at your dining table with him.
He started unpacking the to-go food. “Why did you tell Donghyuck to send you that guy’s info?”
“To get him to shut up about it. He would’ve done that for our whole lunch break, Sungie.” You shook your head, watching as he avoided your eyes. “Are you jealous? It’s not like I’m actually going to do anything with it.”
“I know, but I still don’t like that he’s sending you dating résumés, and it’s apparently been a regular thing?”
“Okay, I know we made it sound like it happens all the time,” you agreed. “This is like the third time, including the guy who stood me up last year. When you and I started dating, I told Hyuck not to bother anymore. But then he heard that I wasn’t bringing a date to the holiday party, and he started his little matchmaking thing again. That’s why I never told you, because there never was anything to tell.”
“I’m sorry if it sounded like I was accusing you of something, baby,” Jisung murmured, reaching for your hand over the table.
“Do you want me to block him or something?”
He sighed. “No, of course not.”
“Damn it, I was hoping you’d say yes. I’ve been looking for an excuse for years.”
He finally chuckled at that, a small smile pulling at the corners of his mouth.
“Here.” You brought out your phone and stood behind him, maneuvering your arms around his shoulders so he could see your screen as you opened your texts with Hyuck and started deleting the most recent ones debriefing you on his newest eligible bachelor for you.
“Wait a second.” Jisung stopped you before you could delete all the pictures that Hyuck had sent.
“What?”
To your surprise, your boyfriend actually opened one of the pictures of the guy.
“Jeno was right,” he snorted, closing out of the picture.
“Wh—Oh,” you started laughing. “Yeah, absolutely.”
You finished deleting everything about the guy, then shut your phone off. “All gone. Can’t even remember his name.”
Jisung pressed a kiss to your cheek. “Thanks, baby.”
“And I’ll tell Hyuck no more in the future. Sound good?”
“No, maybe it’s for the best. I don’t think you need to be subjected to the interrogation I went through today.” He leaned his head against yours affectionately.
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah. I trust you.”
“Aw, thank you, Sungie.” You kissed his hair then hugged him properly. “I knew that. It was cute to see you get jealous, though.”
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/e2a1af316917c875f5820cc3efa0ee85/f2c8614e827f9ac0-74/s500x750/ae560e1ba6a173a6b4a9561b8658e2c8312a97ce.jpg)
“You need to fuck Jisung.” Donghyuck sat on your desk the following Monday, nearly knocking your cup of pens over.
“What happened to hello? How are you?” You blinked up at him incredulously, rescuing your writing utensils and pushing them to a far corner.
“No time, we need to save our new favorite little bookkeeping gremlin.” He quickly saved your project and closed the window on your computer.
“And you think having sex with me is the cure for cancer or something?” You snorted. “They really wasted their money on your slot in that workplace harassment seminar.”
“No, look, he’s in an awful, awful situationship. I know he said she’s his girlfriend at lunch the other day, but he doesn’t have any pictures of her, he didn’t want to show me her social media. He said she probably wouldn’t be able to come to the mixer because of her ‘work schedule’—” Hyuck used finger quotes around the words ‘work schedule’ “—but the way he said, it sounded like he was just preemptively making excuses because he knew she would turn him down. I asked him about their first date, and you want to know his answer?”
“What?” You asked dryly.
“That they don’t really do ‘that stuff!’” More air quotes.
“Okay?”
“Then I asked what stuff they do do, and he turned bright red!”
“So he’s lying about having a girlfriend to get you off his back.”
“Mm, she sounded pretty real.”
“Okay, maybe he’s twisting the truth and he’s got a fuckbuddy and he still doesn’t want you playing matchmaker,” you suggested another alternative. “Either way, you should leave him alone.”
“No, look, I’ve got this all figured out. He needs to be reminded that there’s women other than this girl—”
You narrowed your eyes at him. “How do you have a rotating roster of men to throw at me, but somehow the only woman that comes to mind for your braindead plan is the one in your immediate line of sight? This is confirming my suspicions that you get no bitches, Lee Donghyuck. Have you talked to a single woman other than me and your mother?”
“Listen, it has to be you so nobody catches feelings!”
“So you’re saying I’m unlovable?”
His eyes widened comically as he went to backpedal. “No, of course not! I meant—Jeno, back me up!”
Jeno, who had been silently leaning against the ledge behind your computer monitor this whole time, happily snacking on the red and green Hershey’s kisses in your candy bowl, slowly finished off the one in his mouth before speaking. “Here’s the thing—”
“You condone this?” You scoffed.
He shrugged. “It’s like, his second-worst idea. Marginally better than setting you up with Na Jaemin.”
“Why do I bother asking for your back-up?” Hyuck muttered.
“But he doesn’t think you’re unlovable. He just knows that you’re a professional, and Jisung is still a newbie and works in a different department. So obviously, there’s like no risk of catching feelings if you guys do… Because work, you know?”
You sat back in your chair, glancing between the two of them dubiously. “Do you two think these are normal things to say to people? At work? To your coworker?”
They looked at each other with wide, horrified eyes, beginning to stutter apologetically.
“I’m in,” you declared abruptly, watching their jaws drop. You then focused your next sentence at Hyuck specifically. “If you’ll stop trying to set me up.”
“Done,” he agreed immediately.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/e2a1af316917c875f5820cc3efa0ee85/f2c8614e827f9ac0-74/s500x750/ae560e1ba6a173a6b4a9561b8658e2c8312a97ce.jpg)
Jisung had excitedly told you about the results of his three-month evaluation to you over dinner that evening, and as you two cleaned up after, you relayed your conversation with your coworkers to him.
“I finally got Hyuck to stop setting me up. Permanently,” you announced in a sing-songy voice, drying the last dish Jisung had just handed you before putting it up in the cabinet.
“Really? Did you find out he killed someone or something?” He asked, shaking the water off his hands over the sink before grabbing the towel hanging in front of it to start drying his hands.
“Nope, he just asked me to do something.”
“Oh, and who do you have to kill?”
“Nobody.” You wrapped your arms around his waist from behind him. “You see, he’s very concerned that this ‘girlfriend’ of yours doesn’t like you as much as you like her.”
“I know we’re literally coworkers, but he needs to get a job,” Jisung retorted.
“Why did you say we didn’t go dates when he asked about our first date?”
“I was afraid you might’ve mentioned it before and I didn’t want him to connect the dots if I told the same story.”
“You couldn’t come up with a fake first date? Carnival? Arcade? Dinner?”
“I was panicking!”
“Anyway, he thinks you’re in a toxic situationship, and that the only solution is for me to sleep with you.”
“Wait what?!” His muscles flexed and contracted under your hands with his words, and he seemed almost oblivious as you continued roaming them over his front.
“Because we would never catch feelings for each other, obviously,” you informed him with mocking seriousness, making him scoff.
“I assume you told him to fuck off and stop setting you up anyway?”
“Nope.”
“Huh?”
You finally put a hand under his shirt to touch his bare skin, and he shivered and jerked away instinctively.
“Ah! Cold hands, baby,” he whined, but made no further moves to get away.
“Then let me warm them up, Sungie,” you giggled, pressing your fingers more intentionally against his skin. “Anyway, why would I pass up the perfect opportunity to fuck with Hyuck and fuck my hot boyfriend at the same time?”
“I don’t think I like how similar that phrasing was.”
“Sungie,” you dragged out the last vowel pleadingly.
“So you’ve got a scheme?” He asked knowingly.
“A fun one,” you promised, kissing his neck. “In multiple senses of the word. But it means everyone finding out we’re together a few days later than we planned. Is that okay?”
He let out a deep sigh. “Alright. What’s first?”
“I’ve got to hold up my end of the deal, of course.”
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/e2a1af316917c875f5820cc3efa0ee85/f2c8614e827f9ac0-74/s500x750/ae560e1ba6a173a6b4a9561b8658e2c8312a97ce.jpg)
Donghyuck and Jeno were quick to swarm you first thing in the morning. They at least brought you a coffee this time. There was no work up on your computer yet for Hyuck to close out of, so he just made himself at home on top of your papers that were on your desk instead.
“Okay, we need to brainstorm,” Hyuck got right to business as Jeno dug into your candy bowl. Well, not the business you were actually sitting inside of, but his plot. “The holiday party is on Friday. I’m thinking if you start being a little flirty leading up to it, like casual, you know, not too much, that should warm him up.”
“The more planning you put into this, the creepier it gets,” you informed him, taking a sip of your coffee.
The elevator dinged then, and Jisung stepped off, eyes focused on his feet as he hurried off towards the break room. The elevator opened towards your side of the floor, while bookkeeping was on the other side, and the breakroom, storage closet, and copy room were situated at the midpoints on the floor.
“Jisung’s late?” Jeno commented, bewildered. “Didn’t he say he always gets here ten minutes early to make his coffee before everyone else?”
Hyuck looked at this as well, eyes narrowing. He turned back to you and Jeno. “Did you guys see that big hickey on his neck? Now he’s running late and wearing the same tie as yesterday? This is why we need to help him. Anyway—”
You shifted in your seat then, readjusting your blazer so that it ‘accidentally’ pulled your blouse just enough to show off a love bite situated on your collarbone.
Hyuck actually froze in place, staring at you as he short-circuited. Jeno gave you a quiet, short round of applause.
“Damn, you work fast,” he commented.
You looked down at where Hyuck was staring, as if belatedly realizing your mistake, moving your neckline back up to cover it again.
“You really…” Donghyuck trailed off, blinking rapidly as he began rebooting.
You shrugged. “Didn’t want to announce it like we were in a locker room.”
“He’s walking over here,” Jeno coughed under his breath.
And sure enough, Jisung approached your desk. He looked uncertainly at Donghyuck sitting next to you, and ended up standing by Jeno behind the ledge, finally looking you in the eye.
“H-Hi, Y/N,” he stuttered nervously.
“Morning, Jisung,” you greeted him brightly. “Kiss?”
“Huh?!” He squeaked.
“Hershey kiss?” You pointed to the bowl that Jeno was grabbing another candy from. “They’re caramel filled.”
“O-Oh. Sure, thanks.” He took a green one. “S-See you later.”
“Bye.”
With that, Jisung skittered away, back off towards bookkeeping. Hyuck and Jeno both turned to you with wide eyes.
“I’ve made a grave miscalculation,” Hyuck whispered.
“That boy is pussy whipped,” Jeno whistled lowly.
You rolled your eyes at them. “Or maybe you guys were looking at the two of us with flashing ‘I KNOW YOU HAD SEX’ signs over your heads.”
“Oh, did I forget to leave that at home again?” Hyuck replied snidely, mockingly swatting just above his head. He then leaned in to whisper-yell at you, “Do you actually have the cure for cancer in there because what the hell was that?!”
“Good morning, Mr. Suh!” You chirped at your boss as he walked by.
Hyuck sat up straight, saluting to your boss. “Good morning, Mr. Suh!”
“Mornin’, Mr. Suh,” Jeno said through a mouthful of candy.
“Morning, morning, morning,” Mr. Suh greeted each of you in turn, then yawned. “Ugh, is it Friday yet?”
“Not quite, unfortunately,” you chuckled.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/e2a1af316917c875f5820cc3efa0ee85/f2c8614e827f9ac0-74/s500x750/ae560e1ba6a173a6b4a9561b8658e2c8312a97ce.jpg)
At home that night, you were keeled over with laughter on your couch, clutching your stomach as you and Jisung recalled the looks on your coworkers’ faces this morning.
“Who knew you were such a good actor, Sungie?” You choked out through laughter, wiping at your tears.
“I just had to act like I was madly in love with you, that wasn’t acting, baby,” he smiled fondly, wrapping his arms around you and pulling you closer. “I’ve had to act every day at work except today.”
“So smooth, Park Jisung,” you giggled, kissing him.
“It’s the truth.”
“I know. You’ve never been smooth, just honest. And I love that about you.”
“Ouch, and also thanks?”
You snickered and kissed his pout. “Ready for tomorrow?”
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/e2a1af316917c875f5820cc3efa0ee85/f2c8614e827f9ac0-74/s500x750/ae560e1ba6a173a6b4a9561b8658e2c8312a97ce.jpg)
Stepping off the elevator in the morning, you didn’t spare another glance to Jisung, who had ridden up with you. Typically, you would take separate elevators, one of you waiting for the next one, but today, you broke that rule. You dropped off your purse at your desk before going to the break room and making your usual cup of coffee.
Jeno and Donghyuck were already waiting for you at your desk. You rolled your eyes at them. “You two have your own desks, you know?”
“You and Jisung got here at the same time,” Jeno stated.
“Is there a question in there?” You raised an eyebrow at him, taking a sip of your coffee.
“Did you get a new shampoo?” Donghyuck asked, leaning forward to sniff the air around your head.
You swatted at him. “Personal space?”
“That doesn’t smell like a woman’s shampoo…” He went back in for another sniff.
“Quit it, freak!” You rolled away from him.
“What’s happening?” A third voice had joined you all, right on time. Jisung was at your desk, cup of coffee in hand.
“Nothing, Jisung.” You threw on a bright smile, scooting back up to your desk. “What can I do for you?”
“I-I just uhm, I wanted to say good morning. And I brought you some coffee.” He offered the cup out to you.
“Aw, thanks,” you said sincerely, then looked down at your own cup on your desk regretfully. “But I already got some.”
His face fell. “O-Oh. I guess I’ll—”
“Hold on, Jisung!” Donghyuck stopped him from leaving, hopping off your desk. Jisung froze in place as your coworker grabbed his arm. First, he took the coffee from his hand and set it on the ledge behind your monitor, then he grabbed your boyfriend’s collar and yanked him down to take a deep whiff of his hair. Jisung yelped at the rough treatment, arms flailing until Hyuck let him go, giving him a loud slap on the shoulder. “That’s all. Thanks for the coffee.”
“Lunch later?” Jeno offered to him. “All four of us.”
“S-Sure,” he looked at you and blushed before hurrying away.
You crossed your arms as you glared at Hyuck. “You literally just assaulted him.”
“And you—” He pointed at you dramatically, “—slept with him again. That’s his shampoo that I was smelling on you.”
“I think my extracurriculars are none of your business.”
“Mm, Jisung’s more of a co-curricular, don’t you think?”
Jeno snickered.
“I think it’s still none of your business.”
“This wasn’t the plan, Y/N.”
“I did your stupid plan, Hyuck. Why are you so obsessed with Jisung’s sex life? Is it because you’re not getting any?” You taunted.
“Nice attempt to deflect, but the plan was to get him to stop being strung along by that other girl. Not for you to start stringing him along.”
“You make me sound like an evil witch.”
“So you’re serious about Jisung then?” Hyuck gasped mockingly. “Adorable. Gonna be each other’s date to the holiday party? When are you meeting the parents? Have you picked a ring yet?”
You bit down on your lip and looked at your lap to avoid laughing, which he thankfully seemed to interpret as guilt on your part.
“Exactly as I thought,” he said smugly.
“The puppy love thing is cute now, but it’s probably best for working together in the long run to just let him down easy sooner,” Jeno gave some surprisingly wise advice through a half-eaten Hershey’s kiss.
Having composed yourself, you finally let out a contemplative, resigned sigh. “Yeah, you guys are probably right.”
“Always are,” Hyuck tsked.

Lunch was honestly kind of fun—It felt like being a kid with a crush again, sneaking glances at Jisung, trying not to be too obvious about your flirting, and playing innocent when your coworkers would shoot you pointed looks every time Jisung did something totally head-over-heels for you.
Mid-afternoon, and Jisung was back at your desk. He had a few papers in his hand, some flimsy excuse of questions about the receipts he’d picked up last week, but really, you two were just talking. Discussing what to make for dinner, additions to the grocery list, what you were working on, little things.
The sound of a door opening caught your attention, and you looked over to see Mr. Suh coming out of his office. He’d just been on a phone conference, and had his empty coffee mug in his hand.
“Hi, Mr. Suh.” You sat up a little straighter. “Afternoon decaf?”
“Yep.” He lifted the mug in greeting as he walked by, heading for the breakroom.
“I’m going back to my cage with the other bookkeeping gremlins,” Jisung murmured. “Don’t want him to catch me still here when he gets back.”
“Laser beams aren’t going to come out of his eyes and incinerate you on the spot if he does, you know,” you giggled.
“How do you know?” He tapped your desk rhythmically, then mouthed, ‘See you later.’
You mouthed it back, contentedly watching him walk away. You were back to working on your reports when Mr. Suh returned from the break room. He drifted over to your desk, however, standing against the ledge conspiratorially.
“Was that the new kid in bookkeeping?” He asked lightly, taking a sip of his coffee.
“Yeah, Park Jisung,” you informed him. At your boss’ inquisitive lean forward, you gave a little more context, “He picked up those receipts last week and Hyuck ended up inviting him out for lunch with us.”
“He seems to be over here quite a bit recently.”
“We chitchat sometimes.” You paused, then widened your eyes. “Is that a problem? Nothing’s been late or anything, has it?”
He gave you his usual easy-going smile. “It’s fine, Y/N. Your work has been great as usual.”
“Okay, good.”
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/e2a1af316917c875f5820cc3efa0ee85/f2c8614e827f9ac0-74/s500x750/ae560e1ba6a173a6b4a9561b8658e2c8312a97ce.jpg)
“Hi, baby,” Jisung greeted you brightly that evening from your usual meet-up place after work. If neither of you had to stay late, or had an errand to run after work, you would meet up outside a cornerstore a couple blocks away from the office.
“Hi, co-curricular,” you beamed back, leaning into the kiss he was pressing to your cheek.
He pulled away with an adorably confused pout on his face. You laughed, taking his arm in yours as you started down the sidewalks together, relaying your conversation with Hyuck and Jeno this morning.
“I don’t know what’s funnier, the idea of me genuinely ‘stringing you along’ or your new nickname,” you giggled, squeezing his arm.
“You already changed my phone contact, didn’t you?”
“I put a heart next to it!”
“The rumor has spread to bookkeeping, by the way.”
You blinked at him in mock surprise. “You guys have office gossip over there?”
“Yeah, we finally invented the wheel and have time to gossip now,” he snorted, rolling his eyes. “Huang Renjun told me he heard Song Minji and Park Chaeyeon talking about it in the copy room.”
“That’s how it breached containment,” you tutted. Chaeyeon was from your department, but you knew she and Minji were office friends. She must have overheard it from your area—Hyuck wasn’t exactly the quietest man you knew, and there was no way your other coworkers hadn’t noticed Jisung’s frequent trips to your desk if Mr. Suh had.
“Uh-huh.”
“What exactly were they saying? Did Renjun tell you?”
“Some stuff he didn’t want to repeat about you—” He cleared his throat. “But mostly, he wanted to ask me what, if anything was true. I felt bad lying, I like Renjun.”
“Yeah, he was my favorite bookkeeping gremlin before you started.”
Jisung elbowed you, obviously offended. “I still did bookkeeping before I worked here! I just did it somewhere else!”
“He was my favorite at this company before you started. Better?”
“Much.” He smiled as you leaned in to kiss his nose. “I told him the rumors weren’t true.”
“That wasn’t a lie!” You reminded him emphatically. “We’re not just coworkers with benefits, or co-curriculars, or recently started secretly dating, or whatever!”
“I’m just glad we only have two more days of this.” He laced his fingers with yours. “I want to be able to have a picture of us on my desk, and talk about you to everyone, and show up and leave together.”
“Me too,” you agreed, fond smile on your lips as you approached your front door. “It’s been fun, but the best part will be when everyone knows you’re mine. For real.”
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/e2a1af316917c875f5820cc3efa0ee85/f2c8614e827f9ac0-74/s500x750/ae560e1ba6a173a6b4a9561b8658e2c8312a97ce.jpg)
This was weird. You had been at work for thirty minutes and hadn’t seen nor heard Hyuck or Jeno. Maybe today would be normal for once. As soon as that idea had crossed your mind, they came beelining for your desk, and you knew that would be impossible.
“Good—” You couldn’t even get a friendly greeting out of your mouth, Donghyuck fully sitting on top of your keyboard, entering a bunch of random characters into the email you had been writing. “Uhm, you know, that email to Mr. Suh wasn’t important, actually…”
Yanking your keyboard out from under Hyuck, you deleted the gibberish and saved the draft email before setting it aside to deal with whatever was going on. You looked at your coworkers expectantly.
“Y/N…” Jeno surprisingly took the lead. “How did you go about letting Jisung down easy?”
You blinked in surprise. “What are you talking about? I just told him we should keep it professional and not see each other anymore…? And that was it.”
“And how did he take it?”
“Fine?” You glanced between their extremely serious demeanors with increasing worry. “Why? What’s going on?”
“We just had to comfort a crying Jisung in the men’s room for the past thirty minutes, that’s what’s going on!” Hyuck finally hissed. “I don’t think your easy is very easy!”
You leaned away from him in utter shock. That was definitely not part of the plan today, and now you were genuinely worried about why your boyfriend was apparently crying in the men’s room—he definitely wasn’t a good enough actor to do that on the spot.
“Woah, I didn’t—”
“Well, you did.”
“You don’t get to pin all the blame on me here,” you shot back immediately. “Whose stupid fucking plan was it for me to sleep with him in the first place anyway? If I recall, you never found him crying in the bathroom with his last girl that you were so concerned over.”
“You diverted from the plan and he got attached!”
“Okay, it’s everyone’s fault!” Jeno cut in decisively.
“What’s everyone’s fault?” Mr. Suh stopped by your desk, briefcase in hand as he had just gotten into the office. “There’s been an awful lot of whispering going on over here. Something I should know about?”
“No, Mr. Suh!” Hyuck chirped brightly. “Lunch plans fell through, we’re just rescheduling.”
Your boss looked at you skeptically, waiting for confirmation. You nodded hurriedly. “Yeah, lunch plans.”
“Alright.” He shrugged. “There’s a good sandwich place a block over. If you’re looking for recommendations.”
And with that, he went into his office.
Turning back to Hyuck and Jeno, you whispered, “I swear to God, I wasn’t expecting him to be crying. Okay?”
“We’re being a little harsh on you,” Jeno admitted quietly. “We should all just leave Jisung alone, I think.”
He took a candy out of your bowl and departed your desk without another word. Hyuck followed, still shaking his head. You quickly brought your phone out, immediately texting Jisung.
[you: BABY SOS]
He texted back immediately
[co-curricular 🩷: IM HERE]
[co-curricular 🩷: WHAT’S WRONG????]
[you: im fine but are YOU okay?!]
[you: jeno and hyuck told me they found you crying in the bathroom]
[co-curricular 🩷: oh nonono im okay baby i promise]
[co-curricular 🩷: im in the copy room, can you come so i can explain?]
[you: omw]
You hurried from your desk to the copy room, relieved to find it devoid of any coworkers except Jisung, who was attending to a copy machine, placing documents on the glass, closing the lid, and copying them in a steady rhythm.
“Sungie,” you breathed out in relief, darting over to him, needing to see his face for yourself.
“Hey, baby, hey,” he said soothingly, letting you wrap an arm around his waist and lean into him affectionately. “I’m okay, I’m okay.”
You stepped back, cognizant of the fact that any of your coworkers could enter at any moment. “So what were Hyuck and Jeno talking about then?”
“When we got in this morning, the temperature change from the cold air outside to the heat inside the building was making my eyes water and my nose run,” he explained, gesturing to his face. “I went to take care of it in the bathroom. Donghyuck and Jeno ran into me while I was cleaning myself up and assumed I had been crying. Nothing I said could convince them otherwise, and they of course also assumed it was connected to their advice to you to let me down easy. So I played along. I know it wasn’t part of the plan, but I couldn’t get them to let it go.”
“I was almost feeling bad about lying to them, but they do this to themselves.” You crossed your arms, leaning against the wall next to his copy machine. Your tone softened as you added, “I’m really happy you’re okay, Sungie.”
“I’m happy you checked on me so quick, baby.” He smiled, taking a step closer to peck your forehead. He lowered his voice to say, “I love you.”
“I love you too,” you murmured, looking up at him, fighting the urge to just grab his suit jacket and kiss him. “Lunch later?”
His nose wrinkled with distaste. “Are Hyuck and Jeno coming too?”
“Just us? At home?”
“Oh?”
“I miss you.”
He nodded. “I miss you too.”

It was finally Friday, finally the day of the office holiday party. You just had to survive work and lay the last couple breadcrumbs, then it would all be over tonight.
You were making your morning cup of coffee in the breakroom with Hyuck and Jeno, and went to engage them in conversation. “Are you guys bringing anyone to the party tonight?”
“Nah.” Hyuck poured his own cup.
“You’re not beating the ‘no bitches’ allegations.” You clicked your tongue.
“I think it’s a bit weird to bring someone you’re not like… properly dating to a work event and introduce them to your coworkers,” Jeno answered, rooting through the employee fridge.
“So that’s a no?”
“Correct,” he mimicked your taunting tone of voice.
Jisung, who had been quietly measuring out sugar into his own cup of coffee at a far counter, apart from your conversation physically but definitely within earshot, inserted himself then, “I’m bringing a date.”
Jeno hit his head on a shelf in the fridge. “Shit—! Huh?”
“You are?!” Hyuck blinked at him, utterly shocked.
You slowly turned around to face Jisung, cocking your head. “Oh, me too.”
“Since when?!” Hyuck snorted.
“Just because I didn’t tell you about it doesn’t mean I haven’t had one,” you hissed.
He rolled his eyes. “Whatever.”
Jisung nodded, and you saw the corner of his lips twitch, ever-so-slightly, too small for anybody who didn’t know him as well as you to catch. “Guess I’ll see you and your date tonight, then.”
“Same. You, as well.” You nodded curtly, watching him pivot on his heel and stride out of the breakroom.
“You don’t have a fucking date,” Hyuck stated dryly as soon as he was no longer in eyesight.
“That was hard to watch,” Jeno said, opening a Tupperware of food that definitely had somebody else’s name on it.
“And neither does he,” Hyuck continued, pointing to the doorway that Jisung had disappeared through. “No way he’s found somebody in a day. Unless…” He looked at Jeno with alarm. “Oh no. You don’t think…?”
Jeno squinted. “What?”
“What if he brings his toxic situationship to get back at Y/N?” Hyuck gasped. He then turned to you, “Look, I guess I can see if Mark’s free tonight—”
“No,” you cut him off firmly. “I’ve already got someone in mind.”
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/e2a1af316917c875f5820cc3efa0ee85/f2c8614e827f9ac0-74/s500x750/ae560e1ba6a173a6b4a9561b8658e2c8312a97ce.jpg)
“So beautiful, baby,” Jisung murmured, taking one of your hands and kissing your knuckles.
“Hey, I’m trying to fix your tie clip,” you laughed, pulling your hand back from him to continue adjusting his tie clip that had gone askew thanks to his seatbelt.
The two of you were standing outside the venue of the office holiday party. You were fashionably late, as part of the plan. You had to make sure Hyuck and Jeno were already there, so they could see you arrive together, wearing your coordinated outfits. Jisung’s tie was of course a complimentary shade of the color of your dress—not too matchy-matchy like kids at a grade school formal, but clearly together, not accidental.
“There.” You smoothed out the lapels of his suit jacket, smiling up at him. “So handsome.”
He kissed your cheek. “Thank you.”
“Are you ready?”
“More than.” He grinned, lacing his fingers with yours.
Walking in, instrumental Christmas music was playing over the speakers and a steady hum of conversation filled the room. There were a few familiar faces near the front, but nobody you were overly friendly with. You grabbed Jisung’s shoulder for support as you went to talk to him over the din of the crowd. He hunched over slightly to listen to you better, holding you steady with a hand on your hip.
“Want to get a drink first?” You suggested.
“Sure,” he agreed, keeping his hand on your lower back as you moved through the sea of people.
There was a special cocktail for the night, ‘Mistletoe While You Work,’ which you ordered out of curiosity. Once it was in your hand, you took a sip, and you were pleasantly surprised. Not too sweet, and you couldn’t taste the liquor at all.
“Hey, baby,” you smirked, holding your glass up between yours and Jisung’s faces. “Uh-oh, we’re under mistletoe… kinda.”
Jisung laughed, and you put the glass down to watch his face crinkle up and his nose scrunch in all its adorable glory. “Mm, hard to argue with that.”
You were still smiling as you pressed your lips to his in a short but sweet kiss. He kept you close when you broke apart, an arm still wound around your waist.
“Uhm, Merry fucking Christmas to you guys, too,” Hyuck announced himself, standing off to the side, his own drink in hand and Jeno of course with him.
“Oh, hey guys,” you greeted them nonchalantly. “Merry Christmas.”
“What happened to your dates?” Jeno cut right to the chase.
You and Jisung pointed to each other, making nearly identical faces as if you were oblivious to why Jeno and Hyuck were confused.
Hyuck started buffering as he tried to process the situation. “What…?”
“We’ve been together this whole time,” you finally put them out of their misery, watching as their jaws dropped simultaneously.
“Since before I interviewed, actually,” your boyfriend added.
“Over a year, to be exact.”
“You guys are sick in the head,” Hyuck jabbed an accusatory finger at you both.
“Who was making a whole convoluted plan for me to sleep with one of our coworkers that you barely knew?” You immediately fired back. “You’re lucky we did this instead of reporting you to HR.”
Jeno quickly threw on a wide smile, clapping Jisung on the shoulder. “You fit in great here, Jisung.”
“Glad to have you on the team.” Hyuck went to hug Jisung, making him stiffen up at the unexpected affection. Your coworker then gestured to both of you, putting a hand over his chest. “You two are so adorable together. What a great couple. I’ve said that from the beginning, right, Jeno?”
“You thought they would’ve had awful chemistry.”
“Would it kill you to back me up for once?” Hyuck turned his ire on your other coworker.
Mr. Suh walked up to the bar then, putting his order in with the bartender before greeting you all. “Ah, hello, everyone. Merry Christmas.”
A chorus of hellos and Merry Christmases rang out in response.
“Was Mr. Suh in on it?” Jeno asked you.
“Whatever ‘it’ was, no, but now I wish I was,” Mr. Suh answered, clearly intrigued by this conversation.
“Y/N and Jisung are dating!” Hyuck immediately tattled, and you rolled your eyes at his childish tone.
“There’s nothing against the rules,” your boss said calmly. Then, he added with a mischievous twinkle in his eye, “Especially if the relationship predates one of you working here.”
You and Jisung exchanged a surprised look, making Mr. Suh laugh.
“Okay, I had a hunch, but that was the confirmation I needed,” he chuckled. “When I’d see Jisung at Y/N’s desk alone, I don’t know—you two seemed way more comfortable around each other than two people who had only talked for the first time a week ago. No matter how much you liked each other.”
“Why didn’t you say anything?” Hyuck gawped.
“It didn’t seem like any of my business.”

"You brought us to an arcade for our three year anniversary?"
You look over to Jisung standing by your side as the pair of you stood in front of the arcade entryway with the giant neon sign above your heads.
"Yeah, surprise - who doesn't love a date night with pizza and an arcade?" You grin, trying to hide the look of nervousness fighting to show once you notice his frown.
“Baby,” he groans, whiny, “I thought we were gonna go home after the pizza.”
You may have lied to him about that.
When you told Jisung about tonight’s date, he originally objected. He wanted to have a chilled night in with just the two of you — alone. Something he hadn’t had for the past four weeks he’d been strung up at work. Yet, you insisted that the two of you celebrated your three year anniversary just like you had done for your first and second.
So instead, the two of you came up with a compromise: head to your favourite pizza place, then come home and watch a movie snuggled together on the couch. In Jisung’s mind ‘watch a movie’ was code for letting his hands roam all over your body whilst he watched you whither and squirm, but he figured it was best to not discuss the minute details.
But don’t get him wrong. Just because he wanted to have a quiet night in didn't mean he hasn’t missed you — because oh he has. He’s only bothered the rest of the dreamies with his annual ‘I miss her’ speech every other hour.
And whilst typically Jisung loved to spend every passing minute of the day with you; right now, all he could think about was how much he wanted to be balls deep in the cunt he’d missed so much — not spending his time in some arcade.
"I haven't been inside one of these since I was a little kid," you tell him. “Please Sungie, just for an hour.” You begin tugging on his hands.
“I don’t know, Y/N. Aren’t we a bit too old to be playing in the arcade?” he rubs the back of his neck sheepishly.
“Pretty please!”
You hope the small flutter in your eyelashes is enough to win over the hesitant man. And you know it will because he’s told you several times not to give him those signature doe eyes, because he can’t ever bring himself to say no to them.
"Fine."
He grasps your hand, threading your fingers together as he starts to lead the two of you inside. You're instantly greeted with the loud electronic sound effects from the various games, along with the random music playing inside.
There's lights flashing everywhere, and you notice a bunch of people sitting at the bar and in booths near the front of the arcade, along with a bunch wandering around all of the games.
Jisung looks sideways before gesturing his head to the row of retro games, "what do you wanna play?" He asks.
“You can pick first, because I’m such a good girlfriend.”
He can’t help but smile at you — because he knows you're right.
“How about we play some pinball?
"I take it back," you say with a pointed look, "I’ve seen you play that with Chenle and I’m definitely gonna lose.”
“Too late, you’ve already given me the power,” he shrugs and pulls your arm over to where the game is situated.
“Ugh, Jisung. There’s no point, I already know I’m gonna lose,” you try to protest.
“Stop complaining,” he grasps your hips to turn you around to face the pinball machine then comes to stand behind you.
He takes your hands and places them on the buttons either side of the machine in front of you. You feel your cheeks flush when you feel Jisung’s chin rest on your shoulder, as he guides your fingers over the controls and silently coaches you through the game.
You don’t know how he always does it but even here, he's managing to create some form of sexual tension between the two of you at a pinball machine.
“Jisung..” you whisper as he places teasing kisses along your neck.
“Shhh, I’m just trying to help you out,” his lips brush against your neck as he continues hitting the buttons at a constant steady speed. “Besides, I think I’ve found my new favourite way to play pinball tonight."
Eventually, the ball shoots straight down between the two flippers, drawing the game to an end. He’d been doing so well that you wanted to turn around and kiss him but he pressed you harder against the machine, dipping into the crook of your neck to tease your ear.
"You've got no idea how badly I wish I could bend you over this and fuck you right here, right now."
It sent shivers down your whole body as you felt him grin against your skin when he noticed the sharp inhale of air you sucked in at his words.
Jisung knows you're shy, so he’s not surprised that you try to snake away from his grip at his crude remark.
"Look, we got a new high score," he says while he slips his hands from over yours and slides them up your arms. Pretending he didn't just whisper something that dirty. “We make a pretty good team.”
“Yeah ‘cause you did all the work,” you sulk.
You see the red digital writing flashing on the scoreboard, then his arms snake around to link across your lower stomach and pull you firmer against him. To anyone watching you look like a typical couple being affectionate, but the tension makes it feel the furthest thing from innocent.
"You know exactly what you're doing right now, Jisung Park," you huff, trying to control how flustered you feel, "We’re here to play games."
He presses a kiss to your cheek, before murmuring, "I am playing games. And so far I think I'm winning."
As he speaks he lets one of his hands slip down to graze over the front of your crotch, which he swears is an accident when you sternly say his name. But you can’t deny the way the touch made you jolt before he pulls away and steps back. You’d missed his touch — missed being with him like this.
But this was not the place. So you take his hand and turn the two of you to walk off like nothing happened.
The two of you continued to play a handful of arcade games. The classics, retro games, new games — Jisung had even managed to secure you a fluffy teddy bear from the claw game after you mentioned it being ‘impossible’.
You’d been taking it in turns to choose a game each, but when you mentioned the arcade photo booth, your boyfriend had started to get apprehensive.
After some of your amazing buttering up skills with puppy dog eyes, he agreed and he pulled the curtain back for you to get inside, then closes the door on the booth.
He sat down first on the small seat, and when you went to sit next to him he grabbed your waist and pulled you down onto his lap instead. He takes some coins from his pocket and starts putting them in the slot.
You try to get off his lap to sit beside him before the timer starts but he doesn’t let you.
“Just look at the camera and smile."
Once you hear the timer counting down the two of you start posing. But just before the last beep sounds, you get the idea to grab hold of Jisung’s face and let your lips mush against his cheek causing him to scrunch his nose up.
"That’s not fair," he says the second he hears the beeping start again.You stick your tongue out at him and his eyes narrow. “Fine, if that’s the game we’re playing.”
You both look back at the camera and offer smiles, kisses and peace signs. But at the last beep, Jisung gets the idea to move both of his hands to cup over your chest, groping your boobs.
Your mouth falls open as you gasp in shock while Jisung starts laughing.
You try to pull his hands away, "Okay fine, point taken mister grabby hands."
Jisung is practically giggling to himself, whilst you wait for the timer to start again.
“Alright alright, we'll take a serious one now.” He says, placing his chin on your shoulder, as you both look at the camera.
But once again, as the third beeping starts he quickly says, “Do you think people would notice if I made you cum while we're in here?"
Your body stiffens in shock as the picture is taken. Jisung is bursting with laughter and you're taken aback.
Jisung likes sex. He loves sex in fact — especially with you. But he never does this. Sure he teases you when you're out and about — how could he not when you’re so beautiful and perfect for him. But he’s never insinuated doing something so sexual in public like this before.
But here the two of you are. Waiting for the timer to start again, but this time you’re anticipating the shit he was going to pull when the final beep comes — and he does not disappoint. Because his hands slide up your legs, dipping into your inner thighs and squeezing them.
"Jisung," you warn him, "behave yourself."
The beeping starts again, but Jisung doesn't move his hands, and starts to massage his fingers higher.
When the last tick happens, he moves his face to press a kiss to your jaw, and you feel his breath hitting your skin from his nose.
He starts to inch your legs a bit further apart to let his thumbs graze over the crease where your thighs meet your pelvis.
“Ive missed you so fucking much baby,” he whines. “I need you so bad.”
“Jisung not here,” you sigh as his hands start working to warm up your skin.
“Why not? Wouldn’t you like the thought of me getting you off in here? Trying not to get caught?"
If his face wasn't so close to yours you wouldn't be able to hear him over the loud music in the arcade and how low his voice has gotten.
You give him a confused frown, thinking he surely can't be fucking serious but when you do he takes the opportunity to press his lips against you, kissing you while the camera snaps the last picture.
Your stomach is knotting along with your heart beating faster and you feel that familiar heat between your legs but you’d never tell him that — and he’d never tell you that he knows you keep it from him.
"Would you?" He asks again when he breaks the kiss.
You look at him like he's lost his mind. "You're joking right?" You can't be serious - Jisung people get their pictures taken in here, someone could walk in, you can't-"
He makes your words stop and your breath hitch in your throat as he moves his hand up under your skirt and cups his hand between your legs.
"That's not what I asked you," he says letting his eyes trace over your face, then leans closer, "Would you enjoy it?"
“Jisung, this is so unlike you, are you even hearing what you’re asking me?”
He moves his leg a bit and wedges his heel against the edge of the door so it can't be pulled open, "I know exactly what I’m asking you, so answer me."
"We’re supposed to be taking pictures, Sung,” you try changing the subject, and ignore the pressure of his hand pressed against you.
"Oh god we will," he says like it should be obvious.
And now you’re looking even more caught off guard.
“I'd fucking kill to have some pictures of you getting off. Have them to look at them whenever I’m needy and miss you.”
Jisung starts to massage the heel of his palm very slowly against you, adding more pressure over your underwear as you try to squeeze your legs closed but he holds them with his other hand to keep them apart.
"We can't-" it takes very fibre in your body to attempt to protest this, but you easily allow him to cut you off.
"Yes we fucking can," he has that sly look on his face, "But if you don't want to, we won't. It's up to you. Should I stop?"
You exhale a weak breath as he replaces the heel of his palm with his fingers dancing over your underwear, massaging slow circles that make your hips shift.
"Won’t people think it's weird if we're in here too long." you fumble over your words which makes Jisung smile while he bites on his lip.
"Don't worry I'll be quick," he says knowing you’re only making excuses instead of admitting what you really want.
Your eyes drift closed as you sigh, feeling his fingers move against you to create a friction that's only making the throb between your legs worsen. You have absolutely no common sense when it comes to this man and his fucking fingers.
"Should I stop?" He repeats in a low voice, moving his mouth to start to kiss along your jaw.
As usual with him, your functioning brain checks out while your subconscious takes over and you shake your head feeling your breathing start to go shallow.
"You want me to make you cum, yeah? Is that right baby?" His words are slightly muffled as he moves his free hand from your inner thigh and brushes your hair back over your shoulder so he can move his mouth to your neck, "I need words baby."
You should be rational and tell him to stop. But you don't. You wouldn’t dare. You didn’t want him to. So instead you say what you do want, and breathe out a quiet "yes."
Jisung’s own breathing is getting heavier, and the tension in this small enclosed space feels like it's compressing both of you closer together. When he hears your approval, his hand between your legs bunches up the front of your skirt. When he slips it up he snakes his hand over your stomach to push down into your underwear.
A faint groan echoes in Jisung’s throat the second his fingers feel your bare skin, exploring around your underwear to feel the slickness there.
"You’ve made a mess. Missed me this much, huh?” his voice is low, while he drags his warm lips up your neck.
You only manage to nod your head, your brain focused on squirming your hips to find some kind of friction again. He finally rests the pads of his fingers against your throbbing clit, starting to tease circles that force a quiet whimper out of you. Your eyes are still closed as excitement and neediness flood your nerves.
For doing something that should be wrong, it feels so damn right, and it's all you can think of. Feeling him is all you can think about.
"You sure I can take some pictures?" He checks, keeping his movements steady as your hips start to circle against his hand,
You don't respond at first—you can’t—too caught up in how this is feeling, and when he dips his fingers down to your pussy to collect more arousal on his fingers before moving back to your clit and applying more pressure, your head falls forward as you pant out a strained, "You - fuck, yes, you can."
He chuckles hearing how fucked out you are for him, and he’s only just started. But it’s when you hold onto the thigh he’s been using to pry your legs open that his eyes darken with need.
He keeps his fingers moving while he manages to get some coins he had in his pocket, reaching forward to put them into the coin slot, then pressing the button to start the timer.
When he relaxes back he applies a firmer pressure, and starts to massage your clit in quicker circles; making your mouth drop open with a gasped moan. You can barely hear the beep for the picture anymore, everything around you turning blurry, and all you can hear is your heart beat mixed your heavy breathing.
"That's it baby," he coos, with a gravel to his voice from the tension in it, "God I wish I could fuck you right now. I’ve been dying for it.”
Your skin is burning up, and all you can manage in response is the pants from your open mouth, desperately trying to keep yourself quiet.
You start to grind yourself against him as his fingers work, and feel the hard bulge forming in his pants underneath your ass.
He wasn't kidding when he said he'd be quick, he's already building the pressure in your lower belly, making your stomach muscles tighten, while he moves his fingers in the exact way he knows you love it.
That knot in your lower half tightens, and your legs start to tremble as a louder moan you can't stop comes out of your mouth.
"Fuck—Jisung," you whimper, with your chest starting to heave with rapid uneven breaths.
He only quickens his fingers driving with determination and speed, making sure to keep repeating the same movements that are getting the best reactions from you and when your head falls back as you moan again; his free hand comes up to cover your mouth.
"Shhhh—quiet, remember?" He hushes against your ear, groaning at the feeling of you grinding against him, "I know you wanna cum baby, but there’s no way I’m letting anyone else hear how you sound for me.”
All you can manage is a muffled "mhm" against his hand as your eyes squeeze tighter. That familiar sensation starts to ripple from your centre down your legs and into the rest of your limbs.
The orgasm is speeding towards you, faster than anticipated causing your back to arch up as your hips writhe. Your mind is foggy only able to make out quiet whispers of encouragement coming from Jisung.
As the release ripples through your body and your moans are muted against his hand, Jisung groans again, feeling you shake on top of him. He can’t help but snap his hand away to grasp at your jaw to turn your face and kiss you hard while you ride through your climax.
The kiss is mostly open lips grazing against each other, or trying to connect in messy motions with both of your laboured breathing mixing together. His fingers only pause when you try to pull yourself away from them.
Once your eyes drift open to see Jisung’s, the look in them makes you want to squeeze your legs together again if you could move them currently.
Jisung brings his hand up, and grazes his pointer and middle finger he just used to send your body into a frenzy against your lower lip as a silent request for you to open your mouth. You don’t deny it, taking them into your mouth to taste yourself.
“Fucking hell,” his eyes dart back and forth from your eyes to your mouth. His head rolls back against the wall behind you and he whines in the quiet, "God fucking help me."
Your body is still buzzing, floating down dazed from the high it was on, and you watch Jisung bite down on his lower lip as his brows knit tight together, as his hips shift beneath you.
"Everything okay, Sungie?" It’s the only thing your mushed brain can think of saying as you look down at his strained pants.
"Fuck no," he mumbles, looking like he's trying to compose himself, "But it’s my own fault. I suggested we do this. I’ll deal with myself later.”
"Later?" You ask.
Jisung lifts his head back up, leaning forward to press a kiss to your cheek as he rubs his palm up and down your thigh, "Yeah, later. When we get home and we watch that movie you promised me.”
He thinks you don’t know that he uses the movie thing as a code to fuck you — but you do know — and that’s why you’ve never protested when he puts on another one of those Harry Potter movies he loves.
"You sure you'll be able to wait that long?"
Jisung’s lips lift up at the corners, "I’ve waited weeks for this, I’m sure I can manage a couple more hours.”
He hugs you against him with his arms around your stomach, and back against his firm chest.
"But then again,” he begins “Now I have the memory of how fucking hot watching you get off in here was. That makes waiting like some kind of sick torture to me."
You let out a weak laugh, feeling your cheeks flush more than they already were, "I still can't believe we just did this."
"I can, and there's pictures to prove it," he smiles, pulling the strip of three black and white photos from the dispenser.

pairing: Gwayne x fiancé reader
summary: Gwayne may have lost the tourney, but he gained a better prize.
tags: female reader, reader is from the Reach, heterosexual relationship, hand job, mentions of injury, subtle Gwayne daddy issues (not sexy, just Gwayne being Gwayne), Gwayne being a simp for his lady
-----------------------------♟️----------------------------------
When Gwayne told his father one day, at about the age of six, that he was going to take up the sword and learn to be a knight, all his father said was, “are you sure?”
His opinion on the announcement did not seem to sway one way or another, much like his opinion on the actual son. Their lady mother had given him an heir, a spare, a daughter, and Gwayne. His brothers would be learned men like their father, so Gwayne thought he could be useful by being a marshal man for his family. He was actually quite good at it too. All of his instructors said so. His training partners. The men of their House bannermen.
But no one would know that now as Gwayne was quickly unseated in the first round of the tournament. A lucky shot. Luckier still as it could have been fatal, but instead just a wound to his left side and pride. To fall in front of his father and beloved sister wounded him still.
Gwayne had taken what was left of his pride and limped off the tourney grounds. Making it to an awaiting sick bay as injuries in tournaments were more common than not. He had to be stripped out of his armor like a pleb. Been tended to like an invalid while he grit his teeth and let the maester wrap his broken ribs. Just the one, actually. But it was enough to knock him out of the tournament for the rest of the week.
He sighed and rested his head against the headboard. All he wanted was to show his family that his efforts had not been in vain. To show them what he was working so hard for while they were in the Capital. Now he would have to wait for the next tournament. If his father even bothered to show up.
“Gwayne?” The knight looked up from his self-pity musing at the door and found his fiancé there. In his pain and grief over his disappointing show, he had completely forgotten she had been in the crowd too. Wonderful. Another beloved to witness his failure. “Are you alright? That fall…it looked rather nasty…”
“It wasn’t ideal.” He winced as he tried to move his arm to pull his shirt on. Finding it immodest to be in just bandages in front of a lady. She came to his side instantly, helping him pull his arm through with as little discomfort as possible. “Sorry you came all this way to witness such a poor showing. Or waste your favor.”
“It is not a waste Gwayne. Do not say such things.”
Gwayne reached in his pocket and pulled her ribbon from his trousers. She had given it to him the night before, in private, wishing him good fortune & safety in the events to come. He had had it in his breastplate when the games started, and squirrel it away into his pocket after he was injured so it wouldn’t be thrown away. “You should give it to a better knight then I. I’m done for.”
“You fell off a horse Gwayne, not the edge of the world.” She told him. “And, there is no better knight than you for me.” She pushed her offered ribbon back at him with a stern look. “If you keep speaking this way, I shall have to give back your favor and return to the Reach.”
His eyes lit up in alarm. Knowing that she meant his ring, and he could not have that. “Alright. I’m sorry.” To lose the tournament was one thing, but to lose her. Gwayne couldn’t stand it.
She smiled at him. Seeming pleased that he had gotten the hint on not being so hard on himself, and looked around quickly before she leaned in for a kiss. “I know you’re disappointed. But you’re alive and relatively unscathed.”
“And handsome.” He quipped back as he was starting to feel in good spirits. “Do not forget that.”
“Oh, how could I.” His beguiling fiancé leaned in to kiss him again. Longer this time. “Thank the Gods for fine helmets.”
It took Gwayne’s brain a bit to catch on that her hands were moving around his waist band. Perhaps it was the loss of air from their kissing. Or that his bell got run pretty hard in the fall and he was still recovering. Or perhaps still it was simply just her. But he caught on just about the time the cool air brushed against his nether regions, and he sprung up. “What are you doing?” He asked. His back teeth setting against the pain of his sudden movement as he fretfully looked over towards the door.
“Helping you relax.” She replied with some cheek. “I heard the maesters say you needed to do that and rest if you were to heal.”
“And you think undressing me in a room where just anyone could walk in is going to help me relax??”
“Well, no. Perhaps not that part.” Gwayne wheezed in a breath, as much as his battered ribs would allow, when she reached in and took hold of him. “But this part might.”
Gwayne knew not the touch of another, save his own hand. Though he took no vow like the King’s Guard when he became a knight, he had made a personal vow that he would be stalwart in his honor & practice. Dutiful to his House as to not sully it by laying Flowers at their doors. He does not ask how his future wife knew of such things. In all honesty, he did not want to know. All he could think about in that moment, after the shock and panic of getting caught, was how good her soft hand felt around his cock.
His member hardened quickly under her touch. Gwayne was still a young, virile man, with adrenaline still lingering in his veins, a strong breeze could get him up. He moaned quietly as his lady’s hand stroked him. Long steady pulls of her hand up & down. Watching as he was transfixed by this surreal experience that was happening to him.
“Does it feel good my love?” Gwayne nodded. His lord’s education failing him as he could not articulate in this moment how good it felt. “Good. I want to know how you like it, so I can prepare for our wedding night.” He moaned, or perhaps whimpered, at the thought. Just another 3 months. Just another 3 months and she would be his wife, and he would have her all to himself. Her body, her mind, her heart; though she had been clear that he already had the latter two. His hips bucked up at the thought of her beneath him and Gwayne let out a sharp cry that was crossed between one of pleasure & pain as his ribs were jostled again. Then he heard a flurry of scurried motion behind the door.
Panick set in, the fear of getting caught welling up inside him. Not just for himself but her as well. How would they explain such lewd behavior if they were caught? Her reputation would be besmirched. His father might call off the engagement in the face of such scandal!
Luckily his wife to be was not only beautiful but clever. Like all fine roses of the Reach. She quickly pulled a blanket over his midsection and placed their hands together over the spot where the obvious tenting would be. “Forgive me, my lady. I thought I heard his lordship call for help.”
“Such a steward of care you are, Maester Callen.” Her voice was sweet, complimentary, and hypnotic to Gwayne. “Just a twinge of the ribs from a sudden movement. The injury is new. Our silly Ser must have forgotten he had it for a moment.” Gwayne swallowed as her little finger brushed against the outline of him through the blankets. His jaw having to set as to not moan in a very indiscrete way in from of the maester.
“Are you sure he is alright?” Maester Callen asked. A curious look all men of learning seemed to get when they asked questions. “Your lordship looks feverish. There could be an underlying infection from the trauma—“I’m fine.” Gwayne barked quickly. His noble resolve hanging on by a thread thinner than this blanket. “I just need rest, as you said. Please,” ‘oh Gods, please, please, please!’ he thought as his lady continued to stroke him with just the finest touch to the point of madness this whole time, “leave us so I might finish my conversation with my lady and be about that.”
The maester seemed still curious, but asked no further questions. He bowed his head, then closed the door behind him as he left. “Good Gods….!” Gwayne hissed through his teeth as he writhed freely now that they were alone again.
“That was a close one.”
“You insufferable minx!” He hissed at her. That cheeky grin on her face was infuriating but also the vision from his dreams. “You nearly got us caught!”
“I’m not the one who inadvertently called him in here, now did I my love?” Gwayne had a few more sharp words for her but they all vanished as her hand pulled back the blanket again and stroked him fully.
His head tilted back with a moan. The fear of almost being caught, damning though it would be, had only heightened the sensation. He warned her that he was close, not sure if she knew what that meant, and let her swallow his final moans in a kiss as he came all over her hand and his linen dressings. She let him go, a soft kiss on his lips like a seal before she pulled away, and he slumped back against the bed like a witless fool.
“There. Now you can relax & rest completely, my love.” Gwayne nodded. Not sure what she was talking about right now, but rest sounded nice right now. “I shall come to see you tomorrow once they move you back to your quarters. We’ll have the whole afternoon to ourselves, since everyone will at the tournament.” Oh right. The tournament. He was supposed to apart of that. Showing his family & father how much he had trained for them. It suddenly didn’t seem all that important anymore. “Get better, my love.”
She kissed him one last time and then saw herself out. The picture of civility and the dutiful fiancé come to shower well wishes on her mate to be. No one knew, or would know, what had happened between them. Gwayne felt his spent cock twitch a little as he watched her walk away. Just 3 more months. Just 3 more months felt like an eternity all of a sudden.

Update to this prompt I posted a little while ago. Scroll to the bottom for a link to the story.
Tim gets injured while not wearing his suit one night.
Bernard, who has never met Tim before, finds him and takes him home. He ends up losing his memory and Bernard decides to let him move in while he heals, unaware that he's really Red Robin.
Bruce and the rest of the family can't find Tim anywhere.
Days turn into weeks.
Weeks turn to months.
All without a trace.
Tim and Bernard are getting used to living together, and both the pros and cons of being roommates.
Tim will sometimes have nightmares or flashbacks, but he’s also started to heal.
His family ends up torn, with Jason, Dick, and Steph convinced he’s alive, while Bruce, Cass and Damian have all resigned themselves to believing that he died.
One night, Tim and Bernard take a nighttime walk to a convenience store and witness a robbery.
Tim stops the guy on instinct and has a flashback of fighting with Nightwing. He assumes he was a criminal and runs off before the clerk can thank him.
Something the clerk mentions to Officer Dick Greyson when he arrives to arrest the thief. The clerk hands over the surveillance footage, which ends up being proof that Tim survived.
Dick is overjoyed, but Steph and Jason point out that he isn't being held hostage. He's free and yet never contacted them.
Was he in hiding?
From them?
Or for his own protection from someone?
Or maybe the civilian he was with had done something to him?
Whatever the reason, they decide against telling the rest of the family until they can figure out what's going on.
They begin following Tim, keeping their distances.
Tim, meanwhile, after ‘remembering’ being a criminal, can't stop obsessing over his scars, and who he might have hurt to receive them. He keeps thinking about the convenience store clerk and Bernard, wracked with guilt about all the things he may have done.
Bernard stays by him the whole time, doing his best to calm him down.
Tim doesn't tell him what's on his mind out of fear of being kicked out, and Bernard assumes the event was too stressful for him and doesn't push him to talk.
Eventually, the two of them fall asleep together, and Tim promises to make up for his past crimes by protecting Bernard. Things gradually go back to normal with Bernard going to work and Tim, who has no valid id, staying home and taking care of the apartment.
Nightwing, Red Hood, and Spoiler take turns watching Tim and Bernard.
They still haven't told their family, but know they can't just follow Tim forever.
Before they can decide on their next move, though, Cass bumps into him while grocery shopping. She freezes and he doesn't recognize her, but Dick, Jason, and Steph have to come clean.
Cass is pissed, Bruce wants to bring Tim home immediately, and Damian points out that he might not even want to come home, and that they should leave him be.
They decide that, before they make their decision, they need to talk to Tim. Maybe he really did just decide to quit.
Tim, meanwhile, has been using his free time while Bernard is at work to help people who need it. He becomes somewhat of a neighborhood vigilante, believing that he needs to make up for his past crimes.
Most of the injuries he incurs are minor and easy to hide from Bernard, but one day he takes a knife to the arm.
Bernard freaks out and tries to give him stitches in their kitchen, but then has to convince Tim to let him take him to a hospital.
Tim, not wanting to be arrested for crimes he doesn't remember committing, therefore leaving Bernard alone, argues that he's fine.
It doesn't hurt that bad.
He'll heal.
Bernard gets frustrated and shows off his own scars, which he had worked hard to always keep hidden. He explains what happened to him, and how his family disowned him as a result of ending up in the cult, and that he promises he won't put Tim in a situation where he could be in danger.
He asks to know why Tim is so adamant against going to the hospital and Tim reluctantly admits what he's pieced together from his flashbacks.
Bernard is shocked to find out that he might have been sharing his apartment with a criminal, but reasons that that must be why Tim knows how to fight.
Deciding to focus on the problem at hand, Bernard convinces Tim to at least let him take him to Leslie’s place, as she doesn't ask questions.
Leslie proceeds to ask questions, prompting Bernard to be the one to answer them for Tim.
Leslie comes to the conclusion that Bernard is answering so that Tim doesn't say the wrong thing, and only grows more concerned when she tries to subtly give him openings to slip her a message or some sort of sign that he needs help and he doesn't.
She decides that, since he's acting like he's never met her, she'll play along.
Once Bernard and Tim leave, she calls Bruce and tells him what happened.
Bruce decides it's time to step in because something is clearly wrong with Tim.
Tim and Bernard head back home and have a long talk about everything Tim's been hiding and what he's been up to.
Bernard wonders if Tim might be wrong about his assumption that he was a criminal, but Tim remembers stalking Batman, fighting with Nightwing, Robin trying to kill him and a few other things.
Tim was a criminal, and he's certain of it.
At a loss of what else to do, Bernard convinces Tim to get takeout for dinner, since neither have eaten yet.
Tim agrees and they walk down to Tim's favorite place.
On the way there, Batman and Nightwing show up and order them into the Batmobile.
Tim manages to fight off Nightwing as Batman is driving and Nightwing isn't expecting Tim to fight him and escapes with Bernard.
Their suspicions all appear to be confirmed; the Batfam believe Tim is being controlled by Bernard, while Bernard and Tim believe he's a wanted criminal.
Tim decides he needs to leave, since he's obviously being hunted, but Bernard refuses to let him.
Not alone, at least.
Tim wants Bernard to stay safe, which means away from him, but Bernard is just as worried about Tim's safety. They argue, but ultimately both find an abandoned building to hide in together.
They decide to take turns sleeping and Tim falls asleep wondering what sort of crime he committed to warrant the Bats searching for him. He ends up dreaming of the night he found his father's body and wakes up believing that he killed him.
Bernard has nodded off at this point and Tim needs to clear his head so he heads up to the roof to process what he dreamed about.
The bats decide that, for their safety and his, Tim will need to be taken by force and they can figure out what's wrong with him once they have him back home.
They track them to the abandoned building and break in, but only find Bernard.
Bernard ends up getting captured quickly and taken to the batcave for questioning.
Tim, who witnessed the abduction but hadn't been quick enough in getting down from the roof to do anything, decides it's time to go on the offensive against the bats.
He has had enough flashbacks to piece together that Batman is Bruce.
He's tired.
Angry.
Frustrated.
He's been living for months without knowledge of who he used to be and having to deal with random flashbacks and trying to piece together what his life before looked like.
The bats taking Bernard is his last straw.
He decides to start by breaking into the manor and looking for Bernard there.
Bernard, meanwhile, is desperately trying to convince Bruce and the others that he has no idea where Tim is, that he didn't do anything to Tim, and that Tim has amnesia.
They don't believe him until Tim shows up and goes all-out trying to attack them and escape with Bernard, but Bernard is the one who manages to calm him down and convince him to listen to his family.
It takes a while, and a lot of proof, but Tim finally regains his memory.
He and Bernard officially start dating and move back in together.
They like to joke that Bernard had the craziest introduction to the family, despite being a civilian.

His breakup with Marisol is about as unremarkable as the rest of their relationship. There's no catastrophic muffin mess in his kitchen or divorce papers. Just a quiet I don't think this is working out, I'm sorry. Marisol hadn't even cried. She'd just nodded like she'd been waiting for it and left, didn't even need to grab anything from the house before she went and really that just reassured Eddie that this was the right choice.
So, his breakup with Marisol is unremarkable, except that it's not. It's pretty fucking remarkable when he thinks about it because it's not just that they weren't working out, not just that he really didn't care about spending time with her, not just the clench in his gut every time she touched him. No. It's pretty fucking remarkable because he realises he's in love with his best friend.
That's what pushes him over the edge, gives him the last kick he needs to actually break things off with her. Because Eddie may have sworn himself to secrecy about it the moment he realised, but he could never string someone along just because he couldn't have the real someone he wanted.
It's a fucking revelation once he has it. Not a ton of bricks, but the sun peeking out from behind the clouds on the greyest of days, bright and blinding. And the way Eddie has always thought of Buck in terms of sunshine maybe should have tipped him off sooner, but with the way Buck has been beaming over the past few weeks. Well. Eddie doesn't really think he can be blamed for only just taking his sunglasses off and daring to look directly at the light.
And, okay, so Eddie maybe makes it a full week before he decides his self-sworn secrecy absolutely is not a viable option when Buck walks through life now like a drop of sunshine in human form. It's after Buck leaves the Diaz house, walking out from a day of giggles and joy at the go-kart track they'd finally managed to convince Chris to be seen with them at, leaving behind a cosy heat like sun-warmed skin, that Eddie realises he cannot go another day without telling Buck that he's desperately, deeply in love with him.
And so, that's how Eddie finds himself at Buck's door on a random Sunday morning, knocking for the first time since Natalia waltzed out of the picture. Buck opens it a few moments later looking perfectly sleep-rumpled and soft and downright golden where he's backlit by the early morning sunlight pooling in the loft.
"Eddie," Buck breathes out, eyes darting up the stairs before refocusing on Eddie and what must be the most hopelessly lovesick expression painted across his face. "H-hey, what are you doing here?"
"I, um." Eddie takes a deep breath, suddenly nervous, and wipes his clammy palms on his jeans. "I wanted to talk to you about something. Now a good time?" And Buck must hear the slightly shaky steel in his voice because the surprise on his face morphs into a concern so quintessentially Buck that Eddie just wants to kiss it away.
"Y-yeah, of course, come on in." Buck holds the door open for him, and Eddie migrates to the fridge as Buck closes the door with the gentlest touch. "So, um, what's up?"
"I..." Eddie swallows against the heart in his throat, loses himself in the shining blue of Buck's eyes like an ocean he'd be more than happy to drown in. "I broke up with Marisol last week."
"Oh, Eddie." Buck slumps, and Eddie tries not to think that it looks a little like relief. "I'm so sorry, man. That sucks."
"No, no." Eddie waves him off with a laugh. "It's good. Was a long time coming actually." He shakes his head at himself. "I think I was dating her just to tick a box, you know? Realised you probably shouldn't be more excited about a phone call from your new buddy than one from your kinda long-term girlfriend. You definitely shouldn't be relieved when you see your best friend in the restaurant you're taking her to and disappointed when you realise he's just leaving."
And then, Buck blushes, ducks his head, does that little smile that could light up every house on South Bedford Street just like Eddie had been hoping for.
"Yeah." Buck looks up at him from under his lashes. "Probably not."
It bolsters Eddie. Buck's sunshine giving him that one last push he needs.
"There was something else I wanted to say," Eddie starts. And there isn't really any fear in him, knows they'll make it through this no matter what, just an overwhelming sense of peace to come. "I..." A deep breath, gathering all his love and devotion in his lungs so it's ready to pour out on his next inhale and—
A groan from upstairs has the words dying in his throat. A masculine groan. And then:
"Evan?"
"D-down here," Buck calls back.
Eddie can't take his eyes off the loft, stuck there like a car crash he can't look away from as a very shirtless Tommy Kinard appears at the top of the stairs and quickly blanches.
"Shit. Um..." He looks down at Buck in a panic.
Eddie finally manages to drag his eyes away from the very chiselled curveball that just hit him at a hundred miles per hour and finds Buck's face. Small, scared, shaken. He knows the feeling. And because he loves Buck, because of just how deeply he loves Buck, it's the easiest thing in the world to lock that love away and let his face crack into the most genuine of grins. Because if Tommy's been the thing making Buck shine like every fucking star in the sky, well Eddie will absolutely not be getting between them.
"You've been so happy," Eddie chokes out, still smiling.
"I have," Buck whispers.
"And I'm so happy for you." Eddie covers the distance between them in three long strides and pulls Buck into a hug so tight and clinging he's sure it's a confession in and of itself, but Buck only buries in deeper, taking shaky little breaths in the crook of Eddie's neck.
"Thank you," Buck murmurs into his skin. Eddie squeezes his eyes shut against the sudden rush of tears.
"Sorry you didn't get to tell me on your own terms," he murmurs back, letting Buck pull away, but lingering with a hand on his hip, on his shoulder. He should maybe be worried about what this could look like to Tommy who had basically never heard anything apart from rambles about Buck, except when he glances up the stairs, Tommy is nowhere to be seen.
"I was going to tell you," Buck rushes out. "I-I just wasn't sure how."
"That's okay," Eddie says. It's okay. It's okay. "Well, I'll stop gate-crashing for the... Second time?" He raises an eyebrow, and Buck flushes a pink Eddie will never ever get to taste. "Yeah, okay. That makes sense." He remembers the pure fear on Buck's face, the indecision on Tommy's and the sudden tightening of his own chest despite his smile. "I'll leave you guys to it." He clears his throat. "Kinard, if you hurt him, they'll never find your body," he shouts up the stairs.
"Copy that, Diaz," Tommy shouts back.
"I'm really proud of you, Buck." Eddie wraps him in another hug then, a quick thing, just one last touch before Eddie seals every desire away for good.
"Thanks, Eddie." Buck walks him to the door, eyes glistening with unshed tears, and Eddie wants to hug him again. Wants so badly it hurts. But if he hugs Buck again, he doesn't think he'll ever let go. "See you at work tomorrow."
"See you at work." Eddie prays Buck is too distracted to hear the wobble in his voice.
"Wait, sorry, what did you want to talk about?"
Eddie freezes on the threshold, the stutter of his heart painful like he's back in a suit store, and he catches himself on the doorframe with a shaking hand.
"It can wait."

Never In A Million Years, Unless... -part 3
Part 1. Part 2.
Summary: Melissa has an important question to ask you, in front of all of your special guests.
WC: ~2.75k
“Nonna’s ring?” Kristen Marie nearly shouts into the phone, and for a split second, your girlfriend glances down at you to pray you don’t wake up.
“Nonna’s ring,” Melissa confirms. “I’ve decided that if I’m gonna give marriage another try, it should be with Y/N.”
“What happens when you split from her and don’t get the family heirloom back?”
“Shut the hell up,” the redhead nearly hisses. “I know we ain’t breakin’ up. She’s put up with my ass for years- why would she leave now?”
“I’ll have it for you at family dinner on Sunday,” the blonde sighs.
“One thing though,” Melissa says quietly. At the hum, she continues. “You can’t tell nobody.”
“Why the hell would I say anything?”
“To get back at me for God knows what.”
“I like to fuck with you, but I don’t go messing with Y/N,” Kristen Marie promises. “Now get off the phone; I need my beauty sleep.”
“If that’s what you want to call it,” Melissa teases her sister. “Night.”
Melissa gets the family heirloom at Sunday’s dinner, and she sneakily hides it in her purse.
That Monday, your girlfriend is able to get Barbara alone before the kids all come in while you’re off preparing for this week’s lessons.
She just pulls the ring out of her purse and plants it in her best friend’s hands.
Barb’s eyes go wide. “Is this what I think it is?”
“An engagement ring? Yeah.”
“No,” the kindergarten teacher shakes her head before amending, “Well, yes. But is this your Nonna’s ring?”
The redhead nods her head. “If I’m gonna give that ring to anyone, it’s gonna be Y/N.”
“Melissa, dear, this is wonderful,” Barbara hands back the ring. “Does anyone else know?”
“Just Kristen Marie,” the second grade teacher rolls her eyes as she carefully puts the ring back in her bag. “And now you. I need your help.”
“My help?”
“When it gets nicer out, I told Y/N we could have a barbecue at our place, and I want everyone to be there… no one listens to anyone more than they listen to you.”
Your grade level partner smiles a smile that meets her eyes. “Of course. You just tell me a date and time.”
“Saturday, May 18th,” Melissa states.
“You already know the date?”
“I had some time to look over the dates while Y/N was in the shower and text with her mother about coming over that day,” the redhead shrugs. “So, can I count on you?”
“Of course you can,” Barbara grins as she squeezes her best friend’s shoulder. “Now, go help that girlfriend of yours before she loses her damn mind. I know she’s been stressed about this week, what with the benchmark testing happening and conferences coming up.”
And so, Melissa does just that. When she comes into your classroom, you seem to be up to your eyeballs in paperwork. Her eyes immediately see how tense you are in your shoulders.
“Mi amore,” she sighs softly as she comes to stand behind you. Her hands gently rest on your shoulders before she begins massaging them.
You smile at the contact and pause your work for a brief moment to crane your neck and kiss her. “I love you.”
“I love you too.” Warm lips are on yours for a brief second before she glances at what you’re doing. You’re currently getting portfolios together for your kids to show their parents at conferences.
“Babe,” she tuts softly. “Conferences aren’t for another two weeks, and we still have quarterly testing to do.”
“I know,” you mutter. “I just want to get a head start on it.”
“You’re already worlds ahead of me,” your girlfriend sighs. “Take a breather and enjoy your coffee with me.”
“Mel,” you all but whine out.
So, with a heavy breath, the redhead pulls up a chair next to you and begins to go through the paperwork with you. Only, you pause your work to admire her. Her hair is beautifully cascading down her shoulders, her eyeliner looks so sharp today, the way her glasses are on the tip of her nose gets you going, and her clear focus on something she clearly doesn’t want to do but is willing to get over it for you- it has you enamored.
“Was this your plan?” your girlfriend teases as she continues to thumb through the papers. “Get me to do your work while you just stare at me?”
You shake your head goodheartedly before planting a quick kiss to her cheek. “Just admiring my gorgeous woman.” And then the two of you are nose deep in filing the work for your five and six year olds.
May 18th comes all too quickly, and yet somehow it feels like forever to the redhead for the day to come. But here the two of you are, cleaning your house up and down, making sure the floors are vacuumed or mopped, checking that the couch cushions are fluffed to Melissa’s liking, and just generally making sure the house is presentable.
“I think it looks good,” you say as you scrub the last of the pots that had sat in the sink to soak overnight.
Melissa hums as she tightens the messy ponytail that she has her red locks in. “I guess. I just don’t want everyone thinkin’ we live in some slum.”
You bite back a chuckle at that as you move towards her to wrap your arms around her neck. “With all due respect, we’ve been to Janine’s. We’re just fine, hun.”
Your girlfriend purses her lips as she mulls over your statement.
Before the two of you know it, your first guests are arriving at your house. Thankfully, you had the time to shower and change out of your cleaning clothes before Barbara and her husband show at your doorstep.
Not a long time has passed before everyone has shown, including all of the Abbott clan that you had invited. It’s funny seeing the way that the groups manage each other. Melissa’s family is a bit more stiff, your family is as bouncy and talkative as you, and the Abbott group moves as a group as they try to learn everything they can about the two of you.
“Ma,” both you and your girlfriend yell at your respective parents.
“What?”
“Stop embarrassing me!”
Melissa’s mother and sister are currently telling Barbara and Jacob about the shenanigans your girlfriend used to get up to as a girl while your mother is showing Janine and Gregory baby pictures that she has of you on her phone.
Both of your parents just wave you off with shit eating grins, and the two of you breathe a deep sigh.
“Was this our best idea yet?” you ask sarcastically. “Having everyone we know under one roof to exchange every embarrassing story they could possibly have on us?”
Melissa just sighs. “I have no fuckin’ clue. I hope it’s worth it.”
“What do you mean?” you ask softly, not knowing of her plan to propose.
Green eyes look into yours as she quickly searches for an excuse. “I mean, we have a life together. They’d all intermix eventually- might as well be on our time as opposed to by accident.”
“I suppose you may be right,” you chuckle softly as you lean in to kiss her, tangling your fingers together softly. You pull her along toward the direction of the kitchen to begin prepping the burgers you know she and Mr. Johnson will be cooking up later.
“So why are we all here? And don’t give me no trash excuse,” Mr. Johnson asks the redhead as they’re making the burgers together. “There’s gotta be a real reason.”
Melissa scopes out the area, and you’re invested in a conversation with your mother and Janine about only God knows what. She leans in and whispers, “I’m proposing. Wanted the important people here.”
“The Abbott crew is that important to you?” the custodian raises a brow as he flips a burger.
“Family,” she tells him. “An’ if she says yes, will you walk with me down the aisle?”
Mr. Johnson pauses his motions and looks to your girlfriend with wide eyes. “Tell me you’re playing. I know I didn’t hear you right.”
“I ain’t, and you did.”
He claps a hand on her shoulder with a dazzling smile. “Hell yeah I will- when she says yes.”
“You really think she’ll say yes?”
“Melissa, Melissa, Melissa,” Mr. Johnson chuckles fondly. “I’m not sure about a lot of things. But if I’m certain about one thing, it’s that your woman loves you, and she’ll say yes.”
Dinner is on the table, all of your friends and family gathering around for a nice meal- all except for your girlfriend, Kristen Marie, and Barbara.
“Where the hell could they be?” you mutter to yourself as you begin to get up out of your chair.
“Just let them be,” Mr. Johnson practically forces you back into the chair. He knows what those three are doing. They’re pulling champagne flutes out of the cars and pouring enough for everyone to toast to the two of you.
“I’m sure they could use some-” You go to get out of your seat again.
“I said let them be, woman!” Mr. Johnson instructs you in an unusually serious tone. “Jesus, so stubborn, just like your girlfriend.”
You furrow a brow at his odd behavior, but you let it go. With a soft sigh, you settle back into your seat.
It’s only a few minutes later that Melissa, her sister, and her work wife come into the room. But they’re empty handed.
“Where the hell were you?” you ask as she stands by her seat next to you. Barbara and Kristen Marie stay by the door.
“I had a few things I had to prepare for,” is all she says.
“And that would be?”
She takes her stein of beer that’s been set beside her plate by you so graciously, and taps on it with a fork. You give her a look that tells her you have no idea what’s happening. But everyone’s eyes turn to her, and the small chatter that had once filled the room is gone. You don’t notice that Barbara has pulled out her phone to begin filming.
“Hey, everyone,” Melissa smiles that charming smile of hers. “I got somethin’ important I wanted to say.”
“Mel, what?” you pull her in close and whisper into her ear. “What announcement are we making?”
“Just wait, hun,” she tells you.
“I would’ve thought we would’ve discussed whatever you’re going to say to the whole group.”
“Can you be patient for like two minutes?”
You’re not so sure that you like the tone that your girlfriend has taken with you, but you hold your hands up in surrender.
She just smiles at you before shining green eyes look back around the patio at the people you love enough to bring into your home. “I got somethin’ I wanna say. Today is a special day for me an’ Y/N, and we… I wanted all of the people that matter the most to us to be here for it.”
“What’s today?” you ask quietly. Silently, you go through your mind for special dates. None of those dates are in May. “Hun, what are you-”
“Everyone here knows that I was married before. Not too keen on the idea of remarrying. Told quite a few of youse-” she glances to her mother, her sister, and Barbara. “-that there was no damned way I was ever getting married again.”
“Melissa,” you whisper as you piece together what’s happening.
She just shushes you. “And then Y/N came along and into my life, and she changed everything that I ever thought I knew to be my world. And since she started working at Abbott, I’ve come to fall in love with the best, most loving, funny, ridiculous woman that I’ve ever met. I found someone who embraced every single side of me and has loved me through it all. I- I found the freakin’ miracle that made me change my thoughts on marriage and a forever. So-” Melissa gets down on one knee and pulls the ring box out of her pocket that she’s been holding onto for months. “Marry me? Make me the happiest woman alive by becoming Mrs. Schemmenti?”
The box is opened, and the ring is sitting there as shiny as ever. It’s… it’s beautiful. “Yes,” you whisper, tears in your eyes. You lean down and cup her cheek with one hand to pull her into a warm kiss as she slips the ring on your finger. “Absolutely, yes.”
She stands and raises your hand up in the air as though she was the champion of something (she’d later tell you that she is the champion of your heart- she won the best prize there is). “We’re engaged, bitches!”
No sooner is Kristen Marie walking around with a tray of champagne flutes that each of your guests takes.
Once she drops your hand and interlaces your right hand with her left, you get a glance at the ring. It- That- You’re wearing her beloved Nonna’s ring. You have the Schemmenti family heirloom sitting on your finger.
You go to say something to her in a hushed out whisper, but Kristen Marie shoves a glass of bubbly into your hand, and then Melissa is tapping her glass again.
“I got a couple more things I wanna say,” your now fiancee grins from ear to ear. “I just wanted to say thank you to Barb for helping make sure everyone was here. Thank you to Y/N’s parents for giving me their blessing to marry their daughter. Thank you to Kristen Marie for helping me get the ring- the family heirloom.”
“So it is Nonna’s ring?” you whisper out.
Melissa just nods with a soft smile. She presses a kiss to your temple. “And thank you, to my beautiful fiancee. For putting up with my stubborn ass for this long, and for agreeing to put up with my stubborn ass for as long as God has it planned that we’re on this Earth together.” She raises her glass before taking a sip. Everyone follows suit before breaking out into a chorus of cheers for the two of you.
It’s a bit of time before everyone has settled back into their seats for the meal, your guests all eager to get a look at the dazzling ring on your finger. But then dinner is had, desserts and more drinks are had, and it’s a perfect, perfect night.
You spend the rest of your little house party being flocked around, your friends and family absolutely thrilled that you’re the special woman that finally got to change Melissa’s mind about love.
By the time your last guests begin to file out, you have rosy cheeks from the crisp outdoor air and the champagne that you’ve had. The smile on your face hasn’t gone away though. You can’t believe that you’re actually getting married.
“I’m so happy for you, baby,” your mom whispers to you as she hugs you tightly. “Now… work on getting me some grandkids?”
“Mom!” you half groan, half whine.
Before you can say anything else though, Melissa has a hand on the small of your back, she’s pressing a soft kiss to your cheek, and she’s telling your mother quietly, “Let us get married first, yeah?”
That simple question to your mother has you raising your eyebrows and looking at your future wife with wide eyes.
The redhead just shrugs before smiling sweetly at you. She then turns her attention back to your parents. “Text us when you get home safe.” She kisses each of their cheeks softly and watches as they walk to their car.
At last, it’s just the two of you together in the comfort of your own home. Before you can even react, Melissa has you pinned up against the door, and she’s kissing you hungrily.
You can’t quite stop the moan that escapes from your lips when you feel wandering hands. “Honey.”
“God, I fuckin’ love my fiancee so much,” she mumbles into your mouth. Then she’s trailing kisses down your jawline and your neck.
It’s safe to say, you don’t get much sleep that night. And throughout all of the escapades, that beautiful rock sits on your finger perfectly.

When I'm With You I'm Home 'verse
won't somebody come take me home? // closer to where I started
Read on AO3
If anyone had told you while you were stuck in the Void that there was a future where you found yourself in another universe and your greatest wish had come true, then you would have chalked it up to a pipe dream and left it at that. If anyone had told you there was a future where your worst nightmare had come true, well then, that would've been easier to believe.
"What are you making?" Laura asked, peering over your shoulder to get a look at the stove.
"Something special," you told her, winking at her when she let out an impatient huff. "Steak and pasta," you clarified, turning your attention back to where you were spooning sauce over the steaks, hoping the flavor carried through for you.
After getting back from your original universe, you had felt like the weight of the past had been lifted off your shoulders. You didn't give a fuck about your original Logan and as far as you were concerned, he could fuck off into whatever happy existence he wanted with Jean. Did you want them to suffer? Maybe. But it was no longer a requirement for you to heal.
Your Logan had made sure of that.
Now, weeks had passed, and you felt like a new person. Gone was the obsession with the past and in its place was now your excitement for the future.
Your future with Logan and Laura and even Wade. Your future with a new family and a new team. Life hadn’t given you a moment of rest, but you were happy to know that when your back was against the wall, you had people ready to jump in and protect you from whatever hit came your way.
All of you had spent the last couple of weeks wrapped up in the escalated attacks happening throughout the city. There weren't many indicators about who exactly was causing them. Half the time, there were explosions and other times it was just an outright slaughter.
Logan and Wade were out trying to help the X-Men clean up the latest catastrophe. You had opted to stay home with Laura, taking a moment of well-deserved rest from running from one tragedy to the next. Logan had left you with a promise to return that evening and a kiss that hinted at more later.
You thought it was cute how Logan kept insisting he was retired, but the first sign of trouble, and he couldn't help but jump right in. It was why you loved him, because even though he had spent years spiraling after the devastation he faced with his old life, he still couldn't help but try to make things better for others.
You liked to think you had a little something to do with that.
Even though you were just within reach from a perfect existence, you knew it still wasn't without its problems. You and Logan still had a lot of work to do. Both of you were still holding things close to the chest, afraid to show them and lose everything you had earned.
Sometimes, you caught Logan simply watching you, wary and concerned, as if he thought you were about to leave him. Other times, when Logan woke in the middle of the night and reached for you, you wondered if he knew it was you or if he still held onto the memory of his wife, seeking her for comfort. Logan had been open and honest with you, but you sometimes got the feeling that he wasn't telling you everything. Some nights, when you couldn't sleep, you would lie awake and watch him, terrified that if given the chance he would leave you in a heartbeat for his old life.
You always had the feeling like the other shoe was about to drop, so you had taken on the mentality that you were going to enjoy every day you got with him. Which was why you were hellbent on making the perfect dinner and having the perfect dessert all ready to go when he got back home.
"Shit," you hissed when you started stirring together the ingredients for the pasta sauce. "I forgot one thing," you groaned, glancing over at Laura. "I've got to go out to grab something. Will you keep an eye on this for me? Just make sure it doesn't burn," you instructed her when Laura gifted you with a skeptical look.
"What if it burns?" Laura wondered, reaching out to take the spoon from you when you handed it to her.
"Then we'll order takeout," you answered with a shrug of your shoulders. "It won't be a big deal, but I still want to try to get this right," you told her, reaching out to flick her ear.
Laura turned a glare on you, and you knew if you were anyone else, she would have already brought out her claws. You saw a fond smile take the place of her scowl before she shook her head. "Hurry," she urged you, turning a wary look at the stove.
"Ten minutes," you promised, reaching out to grab your keys and wallet. "Just going down to the corner store." You saw Laura open her mouth and you knew what she was going to ask. "Yes, I'll get the cookies," you told her, thinking of the chocolate monstrosities she was so obsessed with lately.
Laura grinned at you, pleased, and cautiously began to stir the sauce.
You locked the apartment door behind you. You knew Laura was more than capable of taking care of herself and she had already been through hell and back, but you couldn't help but want to protect her in every way you could. She was still a kid, even if she would point out she was seventeen.
You made it to the tiny market just around the corner from your apartment within four minutes. You were eager to get back and finish dinner. You couldn't wait to see the look on Logan's face when you had dinner all set up and told him that Laura even helped make it. You knew Wade would invite himself to dinner, so you would of course have extra just for him. You knew you wouldn’t be here without him, and while he drove you crazy, you now couldn’t imagine your life without him in it.
You were a family, fucked up and weird, but full of love.
You grabbed the cookies Laura wanted and searched for a can of black olives. You caught sight of the spices and started in that direction to see if there was anything extra you wanted to add to the sauce. You figured you had maybe five minutes to get back before Laura insisted she did everything she could to salvage dinner, but maybe you should just order pizza.
You were reaching out to grab a bottle of parsley flakes when you noticed something pass right in front of you. You startled at the sight of the playing card, faintly glowing pink, as it sailed towards the shelves in front of you.
You didn't even have time to prepare before the card landed and the shelves exploded. You brought your arms up, trying to shield your face from the shrapnel. The force of the blast was strong enough to throw you back into the shelves behind you. You felt your head connect with the edge of one the shelves and stars exploded in your vision.
There was a ringing in your ears and the taste of blood in your mouth. Your head felt like it was spinning as you struggled to open your eyes, not even sure when you had closed them.
You could hear footsteps approaching you and you managed to squint up at the person standing in front of you. Your gaze drifted from his boots to his trench coat and then up to his eyes. They were glowing a faint red.
"Remy?" You groaned, reaching up to press a hand to your forehead. You blinked a couple of times, trying to make sense of what was going on. You looked at your fingers and they were stained red, blood coating them. Your face was stinging from the bits of shrapnel you hadn’t been able to shield yourself from and the back of your head was aching in a way you had never felt before.
Remy crouched down in front of you. He reached out and tucked his fingers under your chin, forcing you to look at him. "Now, I know we've never met before, so how is it you know my name?" He turned your head one way and then the other, considering you for a brief moment, before he made a thoughtful noise. "Oh, but believe me, we're going to get to know each other real well, bon ami. Just you wait." His eyes were no longer glowing, but there was a devious look in them you didn't like.
You attempted to sit up, but your vision swam and you felt like you were going to throw up. “What the hell are you doing?” You attempted to ask, but your words were slurred, and you were having a hard time concentrating on him even though he was right in front of you.
"Let's get you home, hm?" Remy said, gathering you up in his arms. He stood, lifting you with him, and you tried to wriggle out of his hold, but he was clutching you tightly enough that you couldn’t move.
The last thing you saw was the underside Remy's jaw and the blur of the ceiling tiles above you before darkness swept in to collect you.
You woke to sunlight that had escaped past the curtains in your bedroom and crept right towards you. It was an unwelcome intrusion and you brought your hand up to shield your eyes.
You groaned, forcing yourself to sit up, before squinting at your surroundings. Your head was aching, each pound of your heart sending a bolt of pain right behind your eyes. You didn’t remember drinking the night before or even crawling into bed, but it felt like the worst hangover you had ever experienced.
"Fuck," you grumbled before forcing yourself out of bed. Logan seemed to already be up, and you wondered if he had liked your dinner the night before. There was something wrong, something off, but you didn't know what it was yet. You were having trouble thinking past the pain.
You walked towards your bedroom door, intent on hunting down the bottle of painkillers you kept in the medicine cabinet in the bathroom. You tried to think about what happened before you fell asleep and finally your memories came back to you in a dizzying rush.
Making dinner, leaving Laura in charge, and locking the door behind you. Going to the store, a playing card that ending in an explosion, and Remy promising to take you home.
"I had the weirdest dream," you muttered as you stumbled out into the living room. The pain in your head spiked with every footstep and your mouth was so dry your tongue felt like it was sticking to the roof of your mouth.
The first thing you noticed was that Logan was sitting at the kitchen table and the second was that he wasn't alone. You froze just a few feet away from the table trying to make sense of what was in front of you.
Because Logan was there in his usual seat at the table and he had his hand outstretched over the surface. His hand was clutching the stranger's like a lifeline and he looked as if the person in front of him had just saved him from his own personal torment.
You slowly rounded the table, a twisting feeling of dread in your gut, as you got a look at the stranger.
It was you.
Well, not you. She had a scar crossing one of her eyes and her hair was a different color. She carried herself with more confidence, her shoulders not slumped and head held high. She was wearing the same yellow and blue X-Men suit you first saw your Logan in when you were trapped in the Void.
But she was still undeniably you. Just a variant you could have been in another universe.
"What?" You felt helpless as you looked to her and then to Logan. Pain had been overtaken by confusion and now you felt like you were going to pass out for an entirely different reason. "What's going on?"
"My wife," Logan said, finally tearing his gaze away from her to look at you. "She's back. A portal opened up last night and she walked right through it." His voice was filled with incredulous awe, and it felt like there was a knife digging into your chest. Your breath hitched and you tried to push past the feeling being carved out right where your heart resided.
You didn't think it could get any worse until you noticed the look of pure love and adoration he gifted her. You had only ever seen that look aimed at you and seeing it given so freely to someone else had you clenching your fists at your sides, anger washing over you.
"So, what?" You snapped, trying and failing to keep the hurt out of your tone. "She's just going to live here now? We'll all be one big happy family?" You didn't want to fight anyone for Logan's attention. Not again. Not after what happened with Jean in your other universe. You couldn't lose again. You wouldn't.
Logan stared up at you before he finally looked back at his wife. "We're still married," he pointed out, brushing his thumb gently over the wedding ring on his wife's hand. "And she was my first love," he continued, twisting the knife deeper and deeper. "I'm sorry, but I can't leave her again."
You watched the couple in front of you, frozen in that moment. Hurt and indecision rose within you and you felt trapped.
"So, what does that mean for me?" Your voice sounded so small and scared that you almost didn't believe it was yours. You had never felt this way with your Logan before and you didn't know what to do.
Logan finally tore his gaze away from his wife to look at you again.
"I'm sorry, but now that I have her back...," he trailed off, letting you assume the rest for yourself. "You can stay until you find somewhere else to go," he offered, as if it was any consolation.
You let out a hollow little laugh as you took a step away from him. You couldn't believe what you were hearing. Logan, after everything you had been through together, was giving you up as if you meant nothing to him. The same ache and loneliness you felt back in your original universe was descending on you again. You thought you had put those feelings behind you, but now you were having to confront them again in the worst way.
Because this Logan had loved you like the other one never had and this one had promised never to hurt you. But here he was, crushing any hope you had that this Logan would be different.
You forced yourself to turn around, putting your back to them. You couldn't stand to look at them anymore.
You were faced with Laura standing there in the doorway of the apartment. She was silent, watching you, and you had a sinking feeling in your gut that told you this wouldn't go your way either.
"Laura, I--," you started as you approached her, not even sure where you would end up. "Do you want to come with me?" Was what you settled on, because evidently you couldn't stay here. You had been through so much with Laura. You had survived the Void together and fought together just to survive. Surely, that had to mean something to her. ‘Don’t leave me all alone,’ was what you wanted to beg, but you didn’t want Logan to have the satisfaction of seeing you brought down to your lowest point.
Laura took a few steps forward and you wondered if she would meet you in the middle. Instead, she walked past you and stood at the table, joining Logan and his wife. "I can't lose him again," Laura said, echoing your thoughts. Except, Laura could stay and you had to go.
You saw Logan's wife, the other you, the one he was choosing over you, reach out to flick Laura's ear. Instead of snapping at her, Laura turned a fond, soft smile on the other you and you felt another piece of your heart break.
That was your thing with Laura and that should have been your smile. Logan's wife had swept in and cleared you out, leaving no room for you.
You could feel the fight or flight instinct rising within you and you chose to get the hell out of there. It wasn't your home anymore, because someone had filled your role. You were no longer needed.
You didn't even know where you were going to go, but you somehow found yourself right at Wade's doorstep. You brought your hand up to knock, terror and despair coursing through you.
Wade answered the door in a suit and tie. You would have asked him what the hell was going on, but he didn't give you a chance to talk. He leaned on the doorframe, considering you with a grimace. "I thought you'd show up here after you found out."
"You know?" You weren't sure why it felt like such a betrayal, but you always thought Wade would have had your back. Why didn't he track you down and warn you? Why had no one just given you some kind of heads up that you would be completely ousted from the life you had built for yourself with Logan?
"Sure do, baby bird," Wade confirmed with a quick nod of his head. There was something off in his tone. This didn't feel like the same Wade you had come to know and reluctantly love. This almost felt like a stranger wearing a Wade mask. "I was there when she showed up. Just walked right out of that portal and into Logan's arms like she hasn't been dead for the past who knows how long."
You hated that you could picture that perfectly, as if Wade's memory was playing out in your head.
"Yeah, well, it looks like I'm not needed anymore now that he has who he really wants." You felt like an idiot for ever thinking you were more than just a placeholder for Logan's wife. You didn't want to cry in front of Wade, but you could feel the sting of tears in your eyes.
Wade tilted his head to the side, watching you with an intensity that was almost unnerving. "So, what are you gonna do now?"
"Can I stay here?" You tried, knowing that you couldn't go back to your apartment. You didn't want to ever step foot in there again, knowing that the bright, happy memories you had created were now tainted with misery.
Wade brought his foot back, kicking the door to his apartment open enough for you to see Vanessa seated at the table. "No can do," Wade answered with a wince. "You see, I'm trying to win her back over and I'm already sharing a one bedroom apartment with Blind Al, so it's a little cramped around here. But hey, if you join the X-Men, it usually comes with free room and board. They'll take anyone," he got out on a laugh, before he waved his hand. "Well, except for me. You shoot one person," he lamented, shaking his head in disappointment. "Or, hey, I hear Love Island is casting. Might be time to find you a new boo."
"So," you started, trying to reconcile the fact that you no longer had a home with Logan and now you couldn't find one either with Wade. "I can't stay here," you said, and it was no longer a question, it was just a fact of your new lonely, pathetic existence.
There was something so off about everything that had happened that day and you were trying to make sense of all of it. You had just spent the night before making a special dinner for your family and now you didn't even have one.
Everything was happening so fast that you felt like you weren’t even really processing it. Why hadn’t you just stayed at the apartment and fought for Logan? This was your life. Your home, your family, your love. Why were you just giving it all up so easily? You didn’t understand, but now you weren’t even sure you would be able to force yourself to go back.
"No," Wade admitted, with a sheepish grin. "It's not only Vanessa, you see, but Logan. I mean, Deadpool and Wolverine are a package deal now. There's no breaking up that superhero wet dream team and if I'm harboring his ex? Then that'll just make it more awkward than the time I used his toothbrush on Dogpool. Trust me, he made me regret that one. There are some places those claws of his should not go," he warned with a shudder.
Hearing Wade refer to you as Logan's ex broke something inside you. You could feel hurt begin to overwhelm you, swiftly replaced by anger. You let out a short, sharp scream of frustration. You didn't even realize you had formed a forcefield around you and pushed out with it until you realized Wade had been knocked several steps back.
"Y/N--" Wade started, but you turned away from him.
You didn't want to be placated and you didn't want to deal with anymore of Wade's nonsense. You let yourself go invisible, knowing that it was the only way you would feel safe now.
You wandered around the neighborhood for hours, trying to figure out where you belonged. You trudged from street to street before unerringly finding your way back to your apartment complex once night fell. You didn't dare go inside, but you stayed out on the sidewalk. People passed by you, never knowing you were even there, and you kept your gaze up on the window that shone brightest in the dark.
Logan was up there. He was with his wife and Laura and they were a family in their home enjoying a night together. You were no one with nothing and no home to share with anyone.
You weren't sure why you stayed there for so long, but you thought it had something to do with hope and an inane wish that he would come downstairs and tell you it was all some sick joke. You thought of his promise that he would always find you, even when you were hidden, but that hadn't been true either.
Logan was happy without you, because he had what he really wanted all along. So, why would he come find you when he didn't even need you anymore?
Or worse, Logan knew you were down here and just didn't care about you anymore.
With that revelation, you turned and walked away. There was a swirling mess of thoughts stuck in your head that dredged up the same old insecurities you thought you had shed once and for all.
You would never be good enough. You were unloved. You didn't matter. You weren't worth anything.
You had no one.
You felt tears slide down your cheeks as you aimlessly roamed from place to place. You next found yourself outside the X-Mansion, wondering if you should take Wade's advice and join up with the X-Men. As much as you longed to feel like you belonged somewhere, you didn't think you could go back to saving people with a smile on your face like you weren't slowly withering inside.
There was a whisper of your name on the air. You glanced over your shoulder, looking to see who called your name, but you found no one. It had been so faint that you might have imagined it, but there was a feeling, an electrified touch, that had briefly set your nerves alight.
You weren't sure what time it was, but you were exhausted. You found it pathetic and sad that you didn't have anywhere to go. You didn't even have money for a hotel room. All you could think to do was find a park and drop down onto a bench. At the very least, you knew you could protect yourself if anyone tried to attack you.
You formed a forcefield around you, ignoring the fact that it would only slip away while you slept, and let yourself drift away.
When you woke, you weren't alone. You jolted in place, suddenly wide awake, and scrambled to sit up. On the bench across from yours, a man was sitting reading a newspaper.
He quirked an eyebrow at you when he realized he had your attention.
"I was wondering when you would wake up," he said, lowering the newspaper.
He had dark eyes and darker hair. He wore a suit with a black trench coat, but the illusion of a businessman was ruined by the combat boots he was wearing. His skin was pale and there was a faint ring of red around his eyes that had you wondering if he was wearing makeup. His appearance, oddly enough, seemed false, but the grin on his face was genuine, if a bit unsettling.
"Were you watching me?" You couldn't help but wonder, half-torn between becoming invisible to make your escape and staying to get answers.
"Yes," he answered, unashamed by his actions. "I thought it fascinating that someone would let you stay out here all alone. You don't deserve that, so I stayed to keep watch over you."
You wanted to tell him you could take care of yourself, but you didn't feel so sure about that anymore. The reminder of your loneliness crept up on you and you could feel doubt settle over you. You were on your own now without a team. No one was going to come save you if you found yourself in trouble. You would simply have to claw your own way out.
"What's your name?" You decided to ask instead, studying him from across the small concrete path that separated you.
"Nathaniel," he introduced himself with a smile. "And you are?"
"Y/N," you returned, with a half-hearted wave.
"Now, I know we just met, but I do have one thing on my mind," Nathaniel started, leaning in towards you after placing his newspaper on the bench beside him. "What on earth are you doing out here all by yourself?"
You felt your lips twist to the side in a frown as you bit down on the side of your mouth to keep a lid on the emotions that threatened to boil over at the reminder of the previous day. "I--," you cut yourself off, not sure how to phrase your situation to a stranger without making it seem as if you had completely lost your mind. "I lost my home yesterday," you settled on with a grimace. "My family kicked me out."
Nathaniel made a sympathetic noise before he stood up. "May I?" He asked, gesturing towards your bench.
You shrugged your shoulders in answer but moved over to leave him enough space to sit down beside you.
"In my experience, family is a fickle thing," Nathaniel continued once he was at your side. "People come and go, but you have to be able to stand by yourself and forge your own path once it all falls apart."
"I don't know if I can do that this time," you whispered, ashamed to admit that you were on the brink of losing whatever control over your emotions you had managed since waking up.
Nathaniel turned so he could watch you. It was a bit unnerving, but you figured you had no one else for company. A smirk tugged at his lips as he studied you. "You're a fighter," he assured you.
"Oh?" You wondered, returning his stare. "And how would you know that?"
His smirk was still in place as he tapped his temple. "I'm psychic," he proclaimed, holding up his fingers and waving them before imitating a ghostly wail.
You couldn't help the laugh that escaped you and it felt so wrong.
"There we go," Nathaniel murmured with a pleased smile. "Look, I know you don't know me, but how about a drink? Coffee?" He prompted, moving to stand and holding out a hand to you.
You didn't want to wallow in your misery on the park bench all by yourself and you figured Nathaniel made a decent enough distraction. "You're paying," you told him, reluctantly grabbing his hand and letting him help you up. "Only because I don't have any money."
Nathaniel laughed, the sound briefly jarring to you, and cocked his head to the side. "In that case, I'll buy you breakfast too."
You found yourself in a diner booth sitting across from Nathaniel. He offered to buy you whatever you wanted, but you settled for a cup of coffee and a stack of pancakes. You weren't all that hungry and you couldn't get your mind off Logan. You wondered what he was doing right at that moment and then you dashed the thought. He was probably happy with his wife and Laura and had forgotten all about you.
"Hey," Nathaniel called, getting your attention. "Where did you go?"
You shook your head, biting your lip to distract yourself.
"Thinking about your family?" He prompted, shooting you a wary look. "I know I'm a stranger and it's none of my business, but do you want to tell me what happened? Maybe I can offer some perspective."
You scowled down at your pancakes, pushing them halfheartedly around the plate with a fork. You glanced around the diner, spotting a blonde woman wearing a white suit watching you curiously from a booth not far from yours. You shook your head at Nathaniel, not wanting anyone to overhear you.
"Let's get out of here," you told him, pushing yourself out of the booth. "I could use a walk to clear my head."
"Alright," Nathaniel readily agreed, standing as well. While he placed a twenty on the table, you made for the door.
There was that whisper again in the air that had you looking over your shoulder. Someone was calling your name, but you didn't see anyone you recognized. No one was even looking at you except for Nathaniel who was slowly approaching you.
"You okay?" Nathaniel interrupted, stealing your attention away.
"Yeah," you muttered, briefly nodding your head. "Just c'mon," you said, barely waiting for Nathaniel to follow you before you pushed through the door and walked outside.
You didn't think you would be able to confide in a total stranger, but there was something strangely freeing about unloading all the burdens on your mind to someone who didn't know anything about you. You even managed to drop the mutant bomb on him and were surprised when Nathaniel only took it in stride, as if he had expected all along you weren’t quite normal. He mostly seemed focused on what you told him about your family and how you lost them all in one fell swoop.
"Sounds like you're better off without them," Nathaniel mused. "Anyone who would let you go like that is an idiot."
"Maybe," you begrudgingly agreed. You didn't think it was possible, but Nathaniel had managed to make you feel better. Maybe letting out all your worries had briefly unburdened you. Or maybe since you lost everyone, you had been desperate to hear someone tell you it wasn’t your fault.
"They're all ungrateful idiots," Nathaniel continued. "You're special," he told you. "And you deserve more."
His tone brooked no argument, but you were a little thrown off by how serious he seemed.
"I don't know what I'm going to do now," you deflected, scowling down at your hands. "I don't have anyone or anywhere to go. And I've just spent the day with a stranger telling him my whole pathetic sob story."
"I'm not a stranger anymore," Nathaniel offered with a grin. "You know my name and everything."
"I know literally nothing else about you," you pointed out. You were starting to feel apprehensive about trusting someone you didn't even know. Your head was beginning to hurt and you could feel your hands trembling. You weren't sure why panic had hit you all at once, but you could feel your heart beating overtime in your chest and a cold sweat begin to break out along your skin. You were beginning to hyperventilate, confused and overwhelmed, when Nathaniel took you by the shoulders and forced you to look into his eyes.
"Hey, it's all going to be okay. Just trust me, alright? Y/N, you with me?"
You tried to focus on Nathaniel, but there was a ringing in your ears and you swore someone else was trying to get your attention. You shook your head, trying to keep yourself from falling right into a spiral. You forced yourself to take slow, deep breaths, realizing that Nathaniel was also taking them, trying to coach you through your anxiety attack.
You closed your eyes once you finally felt like you could stand on your own two feet without freaking out. You took a moment to center yourself before allowing yourself to open your eyes again.
"Thanks," you whispered, nodding at him when he shot you a skeptical look. "I'm fine. I'll be fine," you claimed, even though you knew it was a lie. You were tired of loving and losing. Your heart ached for Logan and you knew that you would never recover from losing him. But Nathaniel, odd as he was, had managed to help you feel like maybe you didn't have to spend the rest of your existence completely alone.
"I know you will," Nathaniel confirmed with another one of his smiles. "Because you're coming home with me."
You stared at Nathaniel, waiting for the punchline, but it never came. "I could be a serial killer," you warned him with a scoff. "And you're inviting me into your home?"
Nathaniel shrugged his shoulders, a smirk on his face. "I'm not scared of you."
He sounded so sure of himself that you couldn't help the disbelieving laugh that escaped you. "You're completely insane, aren't you?"
"So, is that a yes?" Nathaniel wondered, holding his hand out to you and waiting for you to take it. "Will you join me?"
You stared down at his hand for a beat too long to be socially acceptable. It felt like you were about to make a deal with the devil, but Nathaniel had been nothing but kind. He had given you a shoulder to cry on and was now giving you a place to go so you wouldn’t have to spend another night on a park bench.
You knew it was probably a bad idea, but you still found yourself reaching out to take his hand.
"Okay," you reluctantly agreed. "I'll go with you."
You thought it would be weird once you found yourself in Nathaniel's apartment, but it felt oddly familiar. He had a guest room that he had designated as yours and made sure you could take whatever you wanted from the fridge. You didn't know how to return his kindness, but you knew you would have to find a way.
Nathaniel had gone out to get dinner while you waited on his couch, idly flipping through channels. You were starting to doze off, exhausted, when you heard someone calling for you.
You squinted at the television, wondering if you were hearing things, when it happened again. You had stopped on a news report, catching sight of the woman from the diner. You assumed she was a news anchor, but the way she was looking at the camera gave you the eerie sensation that she was somehow actually watching you. When her gaze drifted over, as if looking at someone behind you, you rushed to turn off the television.
You cautiously glanced over your shoulder, half-expecting to see someone standing there. But you were alone.
“Y/N,” the voice called again. It was faint, like they were outside, but close enough for you to hear.
“What the fuck is happening?” You growled, growing frustrated. “Where are you?”
You stood, wondering if you should go looking for whoever was trying to reach you, when Nathaniel walked into the apartment. He held up the bag of takeout and nodded towards the kitchen table.
"Ready to eat?"
Time dragged on as days and weeks passed. You still thought of Logan practically every waking moment, but Nathaniel had done his best to distract you.
You were grateful for him, because you didn't know how you would have lived without someone there to fill the void in your life.
You weren't sure what day it was or even how long had passed since you last saw Logan, but you knew that you had started to heal.
"Sometimes," Nathaniel told you once you voiced that thought to him. "You have to let something break so you can piece it back together to get something new. To get what you truly want. What is it that you want, Y/N?" Nathaniel studied you with the same unnerving intensity he always did and you hated to admit that you were finding it less weird each time it happened.
Logan was the first thought that came to your mind. You wanted Logan and you wanted your home and you wanted your family. You wanted to show Laura how to cook and you wanted to follow Wade into crazy situations, knowing that he would have your back just like you had his back. You wanted to crawl into bed with Logan at the end of each day knowing that you were wanted and cherished.
Nathaniel made a disappointed noise before he shook his head. "There's no going back," he told you "I'm sorry, but it's just not going to happen."
You didn't like the way he sounded so sure of himself. Nathaniel didn't know Logan and he didn't even really know you. You had spent weeks with him, but years of your life had been devoted to a Logan. Your Logan had been better, you knew it, so maybe you were the one who wasn't worthy.
Nathaniel made a tsking noise before he reached out. He wrapped his hand lightly along the underside of your jaw, his thumb pressed to the other side of your neck over your pulse point. He considered you for a long moment, as if he was searching for something.
"He left you," Nathaniel reminded you, as if it hadn't been eating you up inside since it happened. "You are special. You deserve to be cherished," he continued, and you started to worry about the potentially romantic direction he was going with his lecture. A brief smile flitted across his face, as if he could read your mind, before his expression slipped back towards something more serious. "You're lost and you're broken," he added, gently sweeping his thumb over your pulse point. "Let me put the pieces back together."
You weren't even sure if you trusted Nathaniel, but you had spent so long hurting that you were tempted to say yes.
You suddenly felt like someone had brushed their hand over the back of your head and you heard someone call your name. It was the same voice as before and you knew better than to look for someone you wouldn't find. But Nathaniel's eyes strayed just over your shoulder, as if he had heard it too. There was a brief flicker of irritation on his face before he gifted you with a sincere smile.
"I've got you," he promised. "No one is ever going to get near you again."
"Okay," you finally agreed, if only because you were curious about what he had in mind. You also couldn't deny that you were just so desperate to not fall back into that desolate pit of isolation you had begun to dig for yourself. Nathaniel saw you and he wanted you. There wasn't much else you felt like you could ask for now.
And if Nathaniel's sharp smile sent a shiver through you for all the wrong reasons, then you were the only one who had to know about that.
Nathaniel seemed insistent that in order to move on, you would have to make yourself stronger. To him, that seemed to mean training day and night, improving upon your power in new and terrifying ways.
You spent hours, days, weeks, stretching the limits of your power. Your power had always been meant as a defense, to protect and contain, but now you wanted to wield it as a weapon.
Your progress felt excruciatingly slow, but you had to admit that you were pleased with the results. It started simple enough with just a thought. You wanted your forcefields to hurt. The barriers you would have erected to protect yourself should also be used to hurt anyone who dared get too close.
Nathaniel had rented out an abandoned location in a strip mall and set up targets for you to use. More often than not, he was watching you, as if he was waiting for something. Other times, he seemed content to leave you alone, trusting you would have something new to show him when he returned.
You practiced on the targets, first forming forcefields around your fists and breaking anything that stood in your way. Nothing held up to them and you started growing bored of that tactic. You started to think that if you could form a forcefield, then it could be any shape you wanted. Spikes, swords, knives all began to adorn the edges of your forcefields, facing out and ready to maim anything that was in the way.
Nathaniel seemed eager when you first formed a forcefield that was outlined with spikes and used it to repeatedly stab holes into the brick fence that lined the back of the property. You were sure he was never going to get his deposit back, but he didn't even seem to care. He only encouraged you to think bigger and do more.
With time, you were even able to produce two forcefields at once. It was exhausting and drained all your energy, but you liked the idea of protecting yourself while also using a different forcefield to hurt an attacker. From there, it was only natural to think of taking a forcefield, forming it around an enemy, and turning the projected spikes inward, letting them impale your target without a way to escape.
You felt stronger and invulnerable. You had never thought to test your power like this, and the feeling was nearly intoxicating. Logan and Laura and Wade were still on your mind, but now you knew that you didn’t need them. Like Nathaniel told you, you could stand on your own and forge your own path ahead.
No one would hold you back now.
The first time you felt the full force of your own power was when Nathaniel was taunting you into a reaction.
"He doesn't care about you anymore. He's moved on with the true love of his life and you are nothing to him. You don't need him anymore. You can show him that you're better off without him."
There were targets surrounding you, but you didn't care about them. All you could think about was Logan and the stupid lovelorn look on his face as he looked at his wife. He looked like he had been saved. Saved from you and whatever pathetic existence he was ready to settle for in her absence. You deserved better and you wanted to rip that stupid look right off his face. You wanted to make him and her regret it.
You let out a scream of frustration, punching out with your forcefield at one of the targets, but it got carried away from you. All the targets snapped back, taken out at once from the blast. It carried farther out, nearly ripping the door off its hinges and shattering the front windows.
You looked at Nathaniel, where he was splayed on the floor, staring up at you in awe.
"You did it," he praised as he began to push himself to his feet. You crossed over towards him, holding out your hand to help get him up off the floor. “I knew you could do it.”
"What was that?" You wondered, breathless and ecstatic. Your power had never quite felt like that before. You wanted to try it again, the rush of it addicting. If you could hone that and strengthen it, then you could use it on multiple enemies at once. You could become nearly unstoppable.
"A repulsion field," Nathaniel answered, reaching out to rest a hand on your shoulder. "With time, I expect you'll be able to direct it and control it. You’ll be able to take out a whole city if you want."
"Shit," you breathed, still shocked that you had managed something like that. "I didn't think I could use my power in that way. It was...exciting," you decided with a grin at Nathaniel.
"I told you that you're special," he reminded you. "I knew you had that in you all along."
"Thank you," you found yourself saying. You considered the targets on the floor and wondered if there would be any more use in them.
"I have extras," Nathaniel assured you. "Want to try again?"
You felt a pleased little thrill shoot through you at the thought. "Fuck yes," you answered.
A week passed since you found out about the extra perk your power allowed you. You felt more confident and assured of yourself. Gone was the self-doubt and in its place was a feeling that you could defeat anyone or anything.
You were walking to the store with Nathaniel, thinking about what you might want to make for dinner. Nathaniel was being unusually quiet and leaving you alone to your thoughts. You wondered if something was wrong, but then you spotted her.
It was you. The other you. She was alone. No Logan or Laura or Wade in her vicinity.
You couldn't help the way you froze on the sidewalk or the fury that rose up swiftly enough you felt nearly sick with it.
She was to blame for everything. She had stolen your life away from you and now she got to be happy while you spent the rest of your life wanting someone you would never have again.
"Is that her?" Nathaniel asked, rounding back to standing at your side. "The one who stole your life from you?"
You nodded your head, attempting to keep a lid on your anger.
"Why don't you make her regret it?"
The idea was so simple, but so damn tempting. You could just imagine the look on her face when she realized she was incredibly outmatched now. You could destroy her within seconds and she would never be able to stop you.
You knew it wasn't something you should entertain. You had lived your whole life as a hero. There was a line you would have never dared to cross before but after everything that had happened, you were starting to realize that line was blurred beyond recognition. As far as you were concerned, she had stolen your life from you, and it was only right that she realized what a mistake that had been.
"You're better than her now. Stronger," Nathaniel continued, leaning in closer to you. "She can't do half of what you can. Show her what you've learned."
"I don't know," you tried to deflect. You wanted your revenge, but there was still a tiny voice in your head saying it wasn’t right. It wasn’t what you were supposed to do.
"Aren't you tired?" Nathaniel hissed, his hand coming up to clutch your shoulder in a near-painful grip. "Tired of being the doormat. The hero. The martyr. Don't let them get away with it. Don't let her walk away."
You didn't even realize you had made up your mind until you were walking up to the other you. She was checking out a display of plants that had been left outside of the market for customers to choose, but she seemed to sense your approach, because she turned to consider you.
You weren't sure what she saw when she looked at you, but her eyes went wide with fear, and she immediately pulled up a forcefield. You stalked forward, intent on your target. You didn't care if anyone was watching, because you felt like you were completely justified in your actions.
You passed right through her forcefield and pushed her back. She fell to the ground, staring up at you in terror. You pulled your fist back, forming your own forcefield around it. You let spikes form along the outside facing towards her. All you had to do was bring it down onto her face. It would be a killing blow, and you would never have to think about her again. Logan would lose the love of his life, but maybe he would come back to you. Maybe you could return to him stronger, better, and without any more competition.
For a moment, as you looked right into her face, it was like gazing into a mirror. The scar was gone, her hair was the same as yours, and you were wearing similar clothes. She looked just like you.
You were convinced that she was you.
And that made you pull back, horrified at what you had almost done.
Her eyes were closed, ready for a blow that you weren't capable of dealing any longer.
"I'm sorry," you whispered before stepping away, propelling yourself right out of her forcefield.
"Y/N?" Nathaniel called, pulling your attention towards him. "What are you doing? She's right there. Kill her," he demanded, his lips pulling back in a sneer.
You shook your head, feeling something indescribable but ultimately terrified swell within you. What had you become? What had Nathaniel done to you? You had let him so far into your head that you had almost done something unspeakable.
You made yourself go invisible before you took off running. You didn't know where you were going or where you would even hide, but you knew that you needed to get away from Nathaniel. He had pushed you to do more, be more, and you had never once stopped to think about which road you were heading down and whether it would lead you right to the point of no return.
You could hear Nathaniel yelling for you to stop and come back, but you didn't listen. You wanted to get away from him and just think. It felt like you had let him take up residence in your head and now you wanted to figure out how the hell to evict him.
You ran until you felt like you were going to collapse. You finally stopped outside of a library. You rushed inside, catching a glimpse of the news anchor flipping through a book as you went right for the back corner. Two bookshelves met there and you sank right to the floor in front of them. You dropped your head into your hands and forced yourself to take deep breaths.
"Y/N," you heard someone call. It wasn't Nathaniel and it wasn't anyone else you immediately recognized. But it was familiar. They had been trying to get your attention all along.
"What," you snapped, already feeling like you were on the verge of crumbling. Nathaniel had been right that you were broken, but who was going to put the pieces back together this time? It felt like Nathaniel had managed to piece them back together all wrong and you didn't even feel like yourself anymore.
"Y/N," the voice called again.
You closed your eyes and focused on the voice. You reached out for it, desperate for any sort of lifeline. It was a spark right at the back of your mind. You rushed to meet it, eager to figure out who had been trying to talk to you.
"My name is Charles Xavier."
You startled, nearly letting the tenuous connection between you and Charles drop, but finally throwing everything you had towards it.
"This world is a lie," Charles continued once he realized you could hear him. "Do not let him break you. They're coming to find you."
"Who?" You couldn't help but ask, hope and fear clashing inside you, threatening to overwhelm you.
"A rather odd group of saviors," Charles answered, a hint of amusement clear in his words. "But stay strong and do what you can to break free of his hold. He has a way to keep me out, so once he finds you, I’m afraid I won’t be much help to you. Just hold on until they get there."
You didn't know how you were going to get yourself out. You were starting to think it was hopeless, because you hadn’t even realized you were trapped in the first place. The more you thought about it, though, the more obvious it became that something had been wrong since the morning you woke up and Logan’s wife was sitting in your kitchen. The fact that she had come back from the dead, Logan’s quick dismissal of you, Laura and Wade both turning their backs on you. Nathaniel’s convenient timing and the way he watched you as if you were nothing more than an experiment for him. A pet mutant he could poke and prod and play with while you were none the wiser.
“Who’s coming to find me?” You didn’t dare to assume that you were worth the rescue, but you couldn’t help yourself. You had to know. You had to hold onto the one little spark of hope you could feel burning defiantly inside you.
For one terrifying moment, your mind was still, and you felt crushingly alone. Just when you thought you had been abandoned, Charles left you with one final word.
"Logan."
Author's Note: There will be a fourth chapter! Did I have you going for a while there? I felt so evil writing this. I truly did. If you liked this, please let me know. James' shrill ring tone fills the room, but neither of you make an effort to move for it where it's buzzing against the coffee table. You probably should be the one to do it, considering you're sprawled across the top of James, making it rather difficult for him to move. But, he doesn't ask you to, so you don't. Even when it rings a second time. You think James might actually be asleep, unaware to the incessant ringing. He's slept through worse, in all fairness.
But he groans petulantly when the ringing stops, turns to ping after ping, the texts flashing across his locked screen and illuminating the dark calm of his living room. His hand leaves it's place on your hip, reaching half heartedly for the device and when he fails, you sigh and reach for it yourself. It'd been a peaceful two hours of relaxing, just existing together in the same space, not really talking, not really doing anything except revelling in the feeling of each other's presence on James' couch after a busy week of barely seeing each other. Between your work, James' rugby practices, and trying to maintain social lives, it'd been hard to have quality time.
You're okay with that. More than okay with that. James has his life and you have yours. This thing you have, it's new and it's fragile, and you won't dent it or risk losing it by being clingy, by telling James that you miss him, that you want to spend more time with him, friends and coworkers, practices and life be damned. You refuse. So you slide the top half of your body off the couch, one hand holding yourself up on the floor, and the other outstretched for James' phone.
His left hand cups the back of your thigh, fingers slipping between the left and right. It's an innocent touch, but heat floods your body all the same as your fingers wrap around his rubber phone case and you heave your body back on top of his. He grumbles when the phone starts to ring again, rubs an apologetic hand up and down the back of your thigh which has you forcing your face into the crease of his neck and shoulder to hide the bright red of your cheeks.
He rests his head atop yours as he answers the phone.
Sirius' voice booms through the speaker, though it's too muffled to make out what he's saying. James answers whatever it is with a tired sounding "Not tonight, mate."
There's more muffled talking, a couple of voices added into the mix and you assume that Sirius is in the local pub. Your heart sinks a little when you realise he's likely inviting James out, and you don't have the heart to tell him you'd rather stay inside the cozy confines of his flat, half asleep in the dim evening light. You don't want to seem controlling or toxic, so you lie still, control your breathing, don't react to whatever is coming down the line from Sirius' end.
James chuckles lightly, his free hand rubbing soothing circles into the small of your back, hand warm against your skin where it's worked it's way under your - his - rugby jumper. "Yeah, yeah, she's here." James' hand squeezes the pudge of your hip at the mention of you.
You tilt your head up in interest and James smiles down at you, warmly, presses his lips to the crown of your head as Sirius screeches down the phone.
"No. No, Sirius, she doesn't want to spend her only day off in the pub listening to you lot." James speaks with humour in his voice, but you can see the hint of frustration that's in his eyes.
You frown, wonder if he's frustrated because he feels he has to pick between you and his friends. You love his friends, you get on well with them, but he's right, you can't think of anything worse on your only day off than going to the pub. "You should go." You whisper, urging James by attempting to climb off of him.
His arm wraps tight around your waist, brows furrowed as he looks down at you and shakes his head, "No." He mouths.
Then, "No. Sirius. No. Mate, you're smashed, have Moony take you home."
James laughs at whatever Sirius says in retort, and then the two are saying their goodbyes. James tosses his phone onto the coffee table after he switches it to silent mode.
"You should go. This is your only day off, as well. Go see your friends. We can do a quick dinner or something tomorrow." You try to urge him again.
James' immediate response is to hold you tighter to him, as though you may actually be trying to escape him. "I'd rather spend my time here. With you." He shrugs, like it's nothing.
Your heart does a little stutter at his words, but your brain catches up and you sigh, "Jamie, it's okay. If you want to go, you should."
His brows hook upward at the middle when he furrows them, his eyes searching yours, "Why is it so hard for you to believe I'd rather be here with you?"
You try not to flinch at his words, try not to think about all the boys before who've put a myriad of things above you. It's fine, really. You've grown accustomed to settling for the dregs, the stolen moments. James is worth the heavy feeling it leaves in your chest to be second best. Simply because when you're with him, the world melts away.
Feigning indifference, you shrug against him, "Because all we're doing is laying here in the dark, half asleep. Wouldn't you rather be out with your friends having a laugh?"
"Would you?" James counters, and it seems like he genuinely wants to know your answer, like he thinks, foolishly, so foolishly, you'd rather be anywhere else. That you wish you were doing more.
Doing nothing with James forever sounds like the best thing you've ever heard. "No. Not at all. I love this. But I know you. You're a social butterfly." You speak softly, cautious of the conversation turning into a row.
You have too many experiences with conversations like the one you're having now being turned into a row.
James nods, "I love this, too. And you're right, I like to be social, but sometimes that drains me. I've spent all week being social, spent all week missing you, and I'm drained. All I wanted to do all week was see you, spend time with you. I couldn't think of anything worse than going to the pub, right now."
His hands are as assuring as his words, trailing a path of warmth and comfort across the planes of your back, your thighs, your hips. It's surreal, the assertiveness he speaks with, the way he makes sure you know he means every word. Your stomach flutters with the idea of him missing you as much as you missed him. It's weird, to feel validated, to feel content and sure.
"I just don't want your friends to think you're picking me over them, or something." You mumble, head dropping back into the space between his shoulder and neck.
James hums, "I am though. Not in a bad way. I just," He pauses, like he's searching for the words, "I'm sure about this, you know? Sure about you, about us. You mean a lot to me, and I'm all in. You come above everything else because, for me, that's the only way it'll work."
You feel rather silly for the tears that spring their way to your eyes, and begin to leak without your consent against James' neck. He must feel them, because he tuts, using his hands to pry your face away from the skin, thumbs swiping softly at the fallen tears. He looks at you so gently you might start sobbing. Relief washes over you in waves, and you realise you hadn't even been aware how worried you were that you felt more for James than he did for you.
"Why are you crying, sweet girl?" He whispers, pressing a kiss to each of your tear stained cheeks.
You loose a breath, "I've never been someones first choice before."
That visibly upsets James, who takes it upon himself to right this wrong, stave off your tears by pressing kisses all over your face between murmured promises.
"I'd pick you in this life," a kiss to your nose, "the next," a kiss to your forehead, "the one after that," a kiss to your chin, "and in every universe."
He finishes with a kiss to your lips, soft and deep, his hands steady on the line of your jaw. You whine a little, pushing further into him until he's chuckling into your mouth.
"I'd pick you, too," You say into his mouth.
James smiles, bright as anything you've ever seen, "Thank God for that, lovie."
And yeah. Thank god for that.

RELATIONSHIP HEADCANONs [ johnny ‘soap’ mactavish ]
Johnny ‘Soap’ MacTavish x f!reader/you
SFW
- When you guys met, you thought he was an airhead, blue eyed meat head. Still is but he was also a deeply caring and affectionate person
- Probably met on his way back from the gym or in the gym- depends if you workout or not.
- Johnny isn’t the type to restrain his thoughts- immediately asked for you out and the rest is history.
- Now to the dating- he is 100% Rottweiler energy… a mix of golden retriever boyfriend that can flip his switch. He’ll protect you- no second thoughts.
- You meet his parents after a week of officially dating, his mum loves you and tells him to get on one knee then and there. Spoilers he’s already planned out the rest of your lives together… not in a creepy way.
- Back hugs are his thing, he’s like a backpack out and about. Just to let everyone know you’re his.
- Looks at you like you’re the only thing he’s ever known… the air he breathes. Deep blue eyes filled with adoration, you couldn’t put it into words. Only that your heart flutters whenever he’s looking your way.
- Makes stupid dad jokes, especially when hanging out with Ghost
- Ghost is definitely the best man at your wedding, whether he likes it or not.
- You’re well acquainted with the boys from 141. Price feels like a father figure, Gaz the relentless older brother and Ghost like a protective cat.
- Takes you to the local pub every time Aberdeen F.C. play and watch it at the bar. It’s amusing to see him a few pints in and saying, “Goal keeper, pfftt, I could keep be’er in primary school…”
- Let’s just say, you’d crack up and nearly drag him off the stool beside you.
- Not to mention when you buy him season tickets for Aberdeen… he’d be the loudest in the stadium if not for you. The look of pride when you repeat what he said in the pub… Christ, he was a lucky man.
- If you had told him you wanted him to retire from the military, he probably would have. He even spoke to you about it.
- You nearly slapped him in the face, calling him an ‘eejit’ (picking up Scottish slang). Thats probably when he knew he’d spend the rest of his life with you.
- It may have broken your heart when he was away, no way to contact you on covert missions. You didn’t even know where he was… but you couldn’t watch him lose himself, knowing that he was born to be in the SAS.
- You noticed a new tattoo on his hip, “why the hell is my name tattooed on your body?” And he would reply, “You’re my lady, enough said.”
- He pops the question somewhere lowkey like your house, just plops down on one knee with a ring in a box. You thought he’d fallen over and instantly told him to get up. So taken aback, you have a ring on your finger and Johnny’s arms around you.
- The wedding was a riot, his family are Roman Catholic raised and you were okay with the ceremony is the local Catholic parish.
- You can’t remember who walks you down the aisle, but at the end of it is Johnny MacTavish in a kilt with his family tartan. You didn’t focus on his military formals adorned with various badges, or that kilt. It was the tears in his sapphire eyes, with Price and Ghost behind him as well as his cousin, the one who inspired him to join the forces.
- The Scottish knew how to party… you danced the night away. Ghost was Johnny’s best man. His speech entailed how, “Johnny wouldn’t stop talkin’ abou’ Y/N. An’ meetin’ her I could see why, she winds your neck in, mate.”
NSFW under cut….
NSFW
- Johnny waited until you were ready to do anything. He’s a gentleman, unlike popular belief.
- But after he coaxed you into working out with him… watching him pump not only the weights but you… you were a gonna, you got back to your place and your lips were crushed against his own.
- Stripping his arms of the hoodie, revealing those thick, rippling arms and the tattoos. His look drove you insane, never been so wet in your life.
- He struggled to keep at your pace, wanting to amp it up because you’d been driving him insane since he met you. Johnny was at his wits end when he hiked you into his arms. So steady and unyielding, lips indenting lilac across the span of your neck before ravaging your lips.
- Hips bucking into your spread legs, straight to the middle. Where you needed him.
- That first time, no time was wasted and no foreplay required. You marvelled slightly at all of him. This was the first time seeing him topless let alone butt naked… he knew he struck the jackpot with you when he could barely fit the tip in.
- Clawing at his numerous scars and moaning effervescence. His name so sweetly rolled off your tongue- the only thing she could muster. And the soldier couldn’t help that drop dead gorgeous smile play on his lips, you shuddered beneath him on the couch you normally watched movies on.
- Maybe that’s when you knew he’d be the man you’d spend the rest of your life with.
- Sex feels like slow motion with Johnny MacTavish, something about his starlight kissed eyes makes time feel like it stopped. Even in a non-sexual sense, you swear you see the dust shine in sunbeams when sharing eye contact.
- Johnny loves watching you ride him, getting tired out because he’s not easy to break. Meeting your bounces, fingers scarring your hips as he thrusts into you.
- Don’t let this man catch you in one of his tight fit t-shirts, if you don’t wanna be around his cock in ten seconds flat.
- Yes, he’s that fast.
- The aftercare KING. Want hot chocolate and a Christmas on in the middle of July- he’ll do it.
- Need a stonking hot bubble bath, he’s getting the rubber ducky and carrying there bridal style. Washing your hair and your body.
- He just loves you and cannot get over how lucky he is to be such a beauty- inside and out
- If you want round two, three or four during the aftercare… he’s got stamina for days soooo it’s really your pick of Johnny special

Author Note; I know absolutely zero things about cars, I had to research as I wrote so I apologize if anything is wrong. bare with me 🙏
~~~
Cars have been your thing for years, ever since you were a kid in your dad's shop. They'd been your whole life. And when you finally got your first car, a BMW I series 2013, you put your heart and soul into that car. Your dad had managed to get it used, knowing that you would be able to fix it no problem. Make it good as new. That was your talent.
It's been a few days and right now you were under the car. Tinkering away at finer details, bringing it to your exact mental image. Which was quite complex for what the car was. As you worked, you failed to notice your girlfriends enter the garage. Gretchen and Karen sharing a glance with a certain gleam in their eyes. Regina with her arms folded, eyes never leaving the spot where she knew you were working under the car. They loved coming to watch you. Seeing you all dirtied up, the way your muscles flexed and how you seemed to know just about everything in this field. It was beyond hot. Honestly, hot may have been not the right word to describe the sight. What's better than hot? Mm, holy? Godly? Something like that.
Probably would have gone the whole time without noticing them. If not for Regina's cat call whistle. Your heart practically leapt out of your chest at the sudden sound, flinching so hard all your limbs hit the bottom of the car. "Ah- fuck-" You grunted, giving your head a rub after smacking it on the surface. Christ. You rolled out from underneath, the creeper (the little thing with wheels that mechanics lay on) sliding along with practiced ease. Your head popped out from under as you looked at your girlfriends. Who were losing it laughing. "Ow." You murmured.
Regina walked over and crouched in front of you, giving your cheek a little squeeze before she wiped the oil smear from it. Only making it worse. Which was her real intention. Then she kissed you. Your lips moving against hers with a force that got a noise out of you. She pulled away, watching you with hints of desire in her eyes. "Better?" Regina had a smug grin across her lips but you nodded.
"Loads.." You pushed out further, getting off the creeper and stretching. A bunch of your bones cracked with your movement, making you grimace and shake your arms a bit," damn. Never gets any easier coming up from there."
Gretchen chuckles and walks over to you, wrapping an arm around your waist. Hardly minding how dirty your work clothes were," so... we have a little issue. With Reggie's jeep." Her hand rests on your chest, getting your attention.
"Issue? Like what?" You look at Regina for an explanation, since it was her jeep and all. Regina plays innocent, as though she totally did nothing to it. Because why would she ruin her own car? It's not like she had a hot mechanic partner she'd get to watch fix it... nope, she sees no reason for why she would ruin it.
"Oh... I was supposed to get an oil change a while ago. Like two weeks or something. Didn't feel like it," Regina shrugged, looking down at her nails. Her tone laced with innocence. You cringed at that. How Regina was even able to use her jeep right now you weren't sure, the engine had to be fucked up.
"Regina. You're going to completely fuck over your car," You sighed. Walking out of the garage at a slight jog to check on the jeep. Regina smirked as she watched you run, admiring the certain... aspects of your body. She glanced at Gretchen and the two shared a silent amusement. While Karen looked a little worried for the car too, following after you.
"Will the car be okay?" Karen asked, looking at you as you pop open the hood. You look at her and give Karen a quick kiss.
"Ain't no car I can't fix. Don't worry," You smiled and got to work. Giving everything a quick once over in the hood before even trying to go under the car to drain it. That's when you noticed something. A whole ass spark plug was missing. What the fuck? Your eyes widened and your head snapped over to Regina. Who was walking over to you with her arms across her chest and Gretchen behind her.
"How do you have a whole ass missing spark plug?" You asked, Regina just shrugged again.
"I dunno." She took it when she got here. That's how. You sighed deeply. Who knew your own girlfriend was your hardest client.
You went back to your garage, grabbing a few tools. You didn't want to drive the jeep in. Just in case you fucked it up further. So you brought the equipment to it. Getting it work while your girlfriends watched in amusement.
I'm not a fan of soulmates in romantic fiction because it's basically arranged marriage with extra supernatural noncon/dubcon elements.
However, in the Saiki universe, the soulmate connection seems to lack pretty much all of those problematic elements.
We have to do a little extrapolating from what we see in canon since this aspect of Aiura's powers is not covered in detail, but:
Soulmates do not seem to be guaranteed to ever meet, considering the fact that Aiura specifically looked up her soulmate and that one guy who was linked to someone in a remote African village that would almost certainly never cross paths with him.
Being with your soulmate is completely optional, otherwise Aiura wouldn't bother providing relationship scoring and just tell each person to go find their soulmate. This allows for a lot of narrative opportunities to explore why someone would consciously choose to not be with their soulmate, and also opens up the door for polyamory.
Soulmates do not instantly fall in love, and are not forced to stay in love by any supernatural powers. Aiura didn't think anything of Saiki until he flawlessly saved Yumehara's life like 10x in a row, and Saiki certainly didn't fall for Aiura right away either. They fought over their values strongly enough that it would've been a breakup if they'd ever been together.
Soulmate status just seems to indicate particularly good chemistry, and like the rest of Aiura's powers, is purely informational and not determinative. Presumably soulmates have the highest possible compatibility scores, and it's kinda cool that it seems guaranteed there's at least 1 person out there who will jive with you, but also plenty of other people you can connect with to various degrees.
With Saiki and Aiura specifically, it's shown that Saiki can change the future Aiura sees as soon as he hears about it. It may even be possible for him to change the soulmate determination, and he certainly could've used Time Leap to fool Aiura into thinking someone else was her soulmate if he was really opposed to the concept. She had scryed it recently, so the butterfly effect shouldn't be a challenge.
But they do work so smoothly together with their powers complementing each other, and Saiki is kind of a lonely romantic tsundere at heart, so it makes sense that he would let the soulmate thing play out and yet test the connection by pushing Aiura away as much as possible.
Actually, considering that Saiki can't control people's actions directly (and that he sucks at trying to control people indirectly), the strongest noncon/dubcon force in the Saikiverse shockingly appears to be Teruhashi's beauty.
The only male character that doesn't seem at all affected by Teruhashi's powers is Hairo, most likely because of his heavily implied homosexuality. Women attracted to other women are also impacted by her power, as seen with Aiura.
While Saiki says that married people aren't affected by Teruhashi, Kuniharu does actually show several signs of being affected by Teruhashi, and so does Kumagoro.
All affected people instantly fall in love with her on sight, no exceptions.
Critical thinking ability appears to drop precipitously when it comes to her, with her fans accepting that she had a secret child with Saiki despite being in school with her every day and that she can just choose not to poop for a week. More effective mind control than anything Saiki can do tbh.
The instant Saiki loses some of his powers, he starts being affected by Teruhashi's beauty.
The narrative supports Saiki's theory that Teruhashi is literally favored by God and can affect reality just by hoping for something. The implication that God is (physically??) attracted to Teruhashi and does whatever she wants is.... yikes on several levels. If she asks for someone to love her, do they get a choice in the matter??
Anyways, there are way more elements of noncon/dubcon with Teruhashi ships than there are with actual canon soulmate mechanics in the Saikiverse and that's just such a wild choice by the author lol.
Truly subverting tropes!
❛❛ APOLOGIZE WITH FIREWORKS ❜❜
a careless toss of an envelope with this week’s paycheck slid off the desk. your eyes followed the movement. “you’re slacking, [name].”
you’ve been slacking for the past two weeks. that’s how long it’s been since you and blue fought. you thought that she would come around and the two of you would hang out again like nothing happened, but of course, it didn’t. you were given straight radio silence, you even tried visiting her at her workshop and home. nothing.
she was your best friend and you hurt her to the point she’s shut herself in. was she even in there? was she ignoring you? did she run off? did she hate you now? did you just ruin everything? you couldn’t tell, it was like she locked herself in. this was killing you.
every since she left it was like all the good things she brought with her did too. the endless laughter between the two of you, the satuation of the world. because of her you finally felt safe, your loan sharks finally stopped bothering you.
sometimes you think you see her (which you don’t). anything blue made you think of her, clouds too. you can’t bring yourself to eat the blue raspberry candy.
the truth was that she was your good luck charm.
“do you want to lose this job?” big don’s voice rang in the office, snapping you back to reality. lose this job? this was the only job that could help pay off your debt that didn’t involve selling yourself, beating others half to death, and stealing.
“i’ve been kind to you. i gave you this pussy job so you could pay me back with my own money.” he leans forward resting his clasped-together hands on the desk.
“but i see something,” the tall man raises from his seat. your breath got caught up in your throat and your heart quickened its pace. “…someone has made you sloppy. has taken your attention off of what is really important.” you knew what he meant and you couldn’t deny it.
you have gotten sloppy with your work, clocking out a little bit early, and coming to work late more often— that was you when you and jinx started hanging out, but since jinx and you have gotten into that fight all of it got worse. “that new girl…” your eyes shot from the ground and straight to big don. the way he referred to her made your stomach turn. was he going to send his goons after her too.
“don’t—“ without thinking you stepped forward, you were about to walk up and slap him. good thing your mind caught up with you. yay, no bullet between your eyes!
“don’t what?” big don shot back at you, he stopped pacing and walked over to you. “run her out of flosnum? tie up the new girl in town? have some of my men give her a good beating? or maybe i’ll make you do that…” gulping at his implication you step back. you knew big don was sick, but surely not that sick?
right?
towering over you, two heads taller his dull dark eyes look down at you, his eyes make you feel so insignificant. you were nothing but a mere worker bee, “[insert sibling] may have escaped off to bilgewater. ixtal? ionia? who gives a fuck anymore. what matters is that one of you is here. one thing stands. your father’s debt.”
“get your act together or you’re on your own.” he then grips your hair, and with a harsh tug he pulls you closer to him. he smelt of cigarettes and mangos, “once you’re on your own i won’t care how and what you do to pay off the debt. sell your body for all i care.”
you left his office and went back to working at the bar. overtime. work for two weeks with no pay as punishment, which was mercy considering you've been waterboarded other times.
though you were starting to consider being waterboarded instead.
how long has it been? she can’t remember, there was no point in counting hours or days when she was in this state.
her chipped painted nails scratched off her cuticles to the point they bleed. curled up in the middle of her room stuck in an unforgiving daze. a haze that consumed her mind and filled it with thoughts that pricked her brain as if they were needles.
she fucked up. again. and she doesn’t have the guts to try and fix it.
not that there was anything to fix, you were done with her. you hated her. you saw her as insane as soon as you saw her.
she was an idiot to show you that side of her. what made her think that this would be any different? danger or not, flosnum was not immune to her effect.
her blue chopped hair now grown inches past her ears but not long enough to touch her shoulders, her bangs terribly long, and the purple dye worn out. the bonsai tree on her bedroom windowsill half dead. the irrigating bear under her bed where its voice is too far to catch.
jinx. that’s who she was. she couldn’t fight it anymore. running from it has been deemed impossible even when she’s a sea away from piltover and zaun.
metal and wood clanking against each other.
she could hear it, the small huffs, exhales, and sniffles. the light-weight pitter-patter danced around her.
isha.
jinx was greatness to isha. a haven. a symbol. someone worth protecting.
jinx could feel the vibrations from the floor bouncing back to her curled-up position. she had her knees to her chest and hid her face.
she couldn’t bring herself to look up. she was scared that if she looked up she would see her. if she did, she wouldn’t know what to do.
all those times she told off sevika that jinx was dead, isha was the one that kept the image of her alive. not a symbol of destruction— no longer just a loose cannon but a hero.
powder was the one that died.
she thought that maybe if she could start over, it would all be from the beginning.
no jinx. just powder. the more she stayed on this tropical island she was reminded that she couldn’t be powder.
to be honest, jinx liked isha’s version of jinx. the version that isha would play games, watch battles fight each other, fall asleep to her overly-dramatized exploits, graffiti on walls, and stargaze with.
the careless dancing footsteps morphed into cautious ones and the steps were slightly heavier.
step. step. step.
these footsteps didn’t seem as if they were sneaking up on prey, still, jinx refused to raise her head up from her knees, her eyes stayed shut.
just ignore it.
she repeated those words, a mantra that got her through a handful of her episodes. unexpectantly, light fingertips grazed her shoulder, unsure if they could go further in the contact.
hallucinations couldn’t touch her.
a low gentle voice “blue.” jinx felt all of her defenses fall. how pathetic that’s all it took.
you crouched down behind her. jinx’s back faced you, wearing only a pink tank top and wool shorts that showed off the blue clouds on the right side of her body.
the only reason you were able to get in was because you found a foolishly placed spare key sticking out from under a ceramic pot with a wilting flower.
you were tired of waiting.
“i’m sorry.” trying to shove down the heat rising to your face, you swallow. there was nothing more you hated than apologizing, which was ironic since you did it quite often. normally when you did it, it was out of fear or common courtesy.
sincerely apologizing on the other hand? the thought of you being the person in the wrong felt like a punch in the gut, but none of that mattered.
the only thing you wanted right now was your friend back. “i’m so sorry. that day at the beach when i sighed it wasn’t towards you.” jinx was still. “that day was perfect and i ruined it. i made you feel that i didn’t enjoy it. i did! it’s just—“ you sucked in a breath before explaining.
“…i have a hard time living in the moment, i’m always thinking about my next shift. that i have my shift in this many hours, i’ll have to deal with rowdy customers in less than a day after, i have to pay off my debt.” she didn’t answer, it felt like you were talking to a brick wall.
“ever since you came into my life you have been what i look forward to.”
silence is all she gives you. not even a hum of acknowledgment. “blu—“ you couldn’t finish the nickname because of how shocked you were to see jinx finally turn her head towards you. you can only see her side profile due to the position the two of you are holding.
the saturation of her vibrant red-violet eyes is now exhausted and dull. an alarm rang in your head. scrabbling from your knees you made it to in front of her to get the whole view of her. you needed to see all of her.
jinx’s closed-off position, her days-old makeup, unkempt hair, and lightweight. her head a bit more raised so she could look at you better as your eyes roamed around her body.
her eyes.
her eyes were so doe and dull, the manic that she usually held in her eyes was nowhere to be found. this was the most vulnerable you’ve seen her yet there were still so many walls.
she looked horrible.
you did this.
“[name]…”
her hoarse voice made your heart ache. gulping, pushing down the guilt. you slowly and carefully take her hands into yours. “let’s get you cleaned up, blue.”
the first thing you did was take off her makeup with a wet piece of cloth. you had no idea how long she had been like this, it looks like she had that same face of makeup for almost a week, probably more.
her cheeks were tear-stricken with dried-up mascara and eyeliner. her purple eyeshadow was worn out along with her smudged lipstick.
you washed her hair in the sink. she sat on a chair, her head leaned back as the faucet ran through her blue locks. your hands gently messaging her scalp, and then detangled everything with a brush.
the two of you didn’t talk at all. sitting on a stool your wrist moved in circular motions, washing her back.
she felt herself slowly come back to reality. the way you were being so careful with her as if she was worth being gentle to. were you doing all of this just to torment her?
surely you weren’t faking the affection in your touch? you wouldn’t do such a thing. you couldn’t.
she felt her eyes burning up.
she felt the rough texture of the cloth exfoliating her skin, your hand carefully leading its way to her tattooed arm. your movements slow not wanting to have her pull away from your touch.
jinx lets out a ragged breath, louder than the scrubbing of her skin and water droplets. that was the first breath she let out since you came to her. your movement paused and went even slower. gentler.
that’s when she bursts into tears.
you froze up a bit hearing her choked sobs, “oh hon…” jinx’s shoulder shook as she leaned forward, away from you. her sobs only got louder and louder. saliva collected in her mouth and her face turned a pinkish hue.
putting aside the cloth you took her shoulders and pulled her back towards you, you wrapped your arms around her neck, and your head was right next to hers. “tell me what’s wrong.” you whispered in her ear, you didn’t bother hiding the tremor in your voice.
“please, talk to me. did i make you upset again?” you plead for her to talk to you.
“i’m sorry.” her sobs so broken that her voice cracks as she apologizes. “i’m sorry. i’m sorry.” she just shakes her head repeating herself over and over again.
“shh.” you say rocking the both of you side to side in an attempt to lull her sobs. “it’s okay, there’s nothing you need to apologize for. we both messed up.”
“i’m such a child, i ruined everything!” she hiccups, her sobs only worsened. she leans on you like a child seeking comfort.
“stop that. you ruined nothing, okay?” you tried to keep your voice firm.
“i made something out of nothing again and i pushed you away and now you hate me—”
you cut her off, “if i hated you would i be here right now?”
“you will once i mess up again.”
sighing, you pinch her cheek. “it was a silly little fight, we got through it.”
jinx winces at the pinch but she doesn’t pull away instead, her cries lessen and her face scrunches up a bit. “what if we get into another fight?”
not letting go of her cheek you kept speaking, “we’ll get through it. even when i get irritated or mad with you, i’ll always come back to you.” she turns her head and you pull away to give her some space to move.
her eyes were bloodshot, her pink irises sparkled as if she was begging you to confirm your words. “you’re my best friend, things like this will always pass over, i promise.”
jinx’s sobs were no more and what was left was her small sniffles as you got back to bathing her.
getting back together with you made jinx realize some things.
number one: you would never ever ever ever leave her no matter what!
this meant she could do anything without you leaving her. like sleeping together in the same bed and kicking you off.
number two: the two of you were practically made for each other!
she has been clinging onto every second of the day and you welcomed it with open arms. (well other than the times she’s stalking you, but you don’t need to know that!) has she gotten more childish with you? maybe.
it was your day off so per usual you were with her, instead of rotting together at her workshop the two of you went out for ice cream and window shopped. the two of you walked side by side in the blazing heat, jinx’s arm hooked on yours.
usually, she would complain and complain in this weather and end up with sunburns which you had to tend to. these days she wouldn’t, it was like she grew up with flosnum. she wore a mismatched bikini top and stockings, low rise shorts black and pink shorts, and black boots with pink laces. “new style?” you raised a brow.
“just matching the weather.” jinx licks the dripping cotton candy ice cream from her cone. the undercity wasn’t hot like flosnum. it was humid at best but mostly cold. hell, she felt the warmth of sun on her skin more on her first week here than she did her whole life in zaun.
going on your route you spot a jewelry vendor, something catches your eye. mindlessly pulling away from her to go check it out jinx furrows her brows, she follows behind you. your eyes were on the turtle trinket. the jewels on it sparkled like no other.
stupid.
jinx’s finger hooks on the loop of your bottoms and pulls you closer to her side. she bends over a bit to get a better look at the stupid trinket. “oh come on, toots, you don’t need this. you already have that ugly turtle pendant.”
you smack the back of her head and she whines. “my necklace is not stupid!” you defend the bronze hanging around your neck. “besides, i wasn’t going to buy it….” your eyes trail to the price tag, the sight causes you to frown. “way too expensive anyway.” you turn on your heels and walk away from the vendor.
she watches you walk away and back to the turtle trinket. it was ugly. tacky too. you wouldn’t look good in it.
jinx shrugs and catches up with you, she loops her arm with yours licking her ice cream once again with a stolen trinket in her pocket.
number three: she missed chaos.
because of that, she’s going to blow up at tonight’s festival. she’s been working on it the day after you bathed her, tucked her into bed, and fell asleep in bed with her. which was six days ago.
don’t worry. don’t worry. she’s not going to kill anyone. she was done with that, instead, these bombs were going to make a teenie tiny little mess.
today’s festival was in honor of the day flosnum successfully defended itself against bilgewater, many lives were lost due to the battle. which was an incredible feat now that jinx thinks about it.
anyways, that doesn’t matter! what matters is that she wants to ruin it.
it’s the most jinx thing she can do.
somehow the paradise was infinitely more vibrant under the dark sky. maybe it was the twinkling stars, the glowing plants, and the fairy lights. everyone gathered in the streets, adorned in tropical garlands. the two of you held a stick, the tip burned bright, sparkling.
normally, jinx’s mind would be on how gorgeous your smile was, but today she was too excited to even think properly. she was too happy to fuck the celebration up. she had already planted the bombs.
the air was filled with a sweet and fruity scent of exotic flowers. your sweet laughter echoed in her mind finally snapping her out of it. “what’s got you so happy, blue?” she asked, pointing out her dumb smile.
jinx dropped the stick, “follow me.” she grabbed onto you forcing you to do the same and follow behind her.
there was so much of everything. people, noise, lights, smells. you canvas through the streets and she takes you onto her workshop’s rooftop. though her workshop was placed in a shady alleyway, the view she had up top was breathtaking.
her rooftop was decorated with random cut-up fabrics, unfinished projects (aka junk but she won’t let you call it that), and colorful lanterns. the stars painted the night sky, the jinx sat on the rooftop ledge. being the more cautious one you tried not to, but she forced you anyway.
“we’re best friends, right?” jinx slowly turns her head to you, your eyes are on the ground, watching the people below.
“i sure hope so,” you snort. realizing that it wasn’t the right time to joke you backtracked, “of course we are, the best of friends.” you didn’t look back but that didn’t make your response any less sincere.
her red-violet eyes trace your side profile. you were pretty like this, with the colors of the lanterns illuminating off of you. the color blue graced your brown skin and the coils of your hair. it was almost as beautiful as when the sunlight would kiss your skin.
jinx wasn’t sure when it started. “it” being when she became so attentive to you. maybe, it was the day she first saw you behind the counter of her now workshop. maybe, it was the day she crashlanded and you saved her.
the topic of the day she crashlanded was never brought up between the two of you. jinx wasn’t sure if you were aware that she knew.
jinx should’ve forgotten about you that day, her vision was hazy and smoke filled her lungs— her mind shouldn’t even have registered the details of you. but she did.
the key detail she remembered?
it was that stupid bronze necklace.
the ugly piece of metal that is still hanging around your neck. it looks as if it was handmade. well maintained yet specks of chipped-off green paint on the turtle’s shell.
“good,” jinx smiles at your answer. her hand reaches into her pocket and your eyes follow, her fist closed around not letting you know what it is just yet. “because i wanted to give you something.”
your eyes finally lock with hers. “i’m not good with words. i’m not good with my actions either.” her vibrant eyes shift away from yours, but she forces herself to keep eye contact with yours. “i fuck shit up. always. as soon as something good comes in my life it’s taken away, by my hand or something else.”
jinx couldn't find the right words, she didn't even know where she was going with this. “i ruin everything,” she laughed bitterly, her eyes searched yours to see if you were annoyed by your senseless rambling, but you didn’t. you listened, waiting for the next words to come out of her mouth.
“i’m jinxed. it’s in my name.”
jinx looks down at her hand, her fist is holding onto the mystery item tightly. then her fingers hesitantly open up her fist, revealing what’s in the palm of your hand. you look down. this feeling in your stomach, it flips and flutters. “blue, is this—“
“jinx,” she didn’t let you get a sentence in. “that’s my name.”
jinx...so that was blue's name. oddly enough, it fit her perfectly. she didn't look like a sasha, cassie, hannah, or kate. for someone as cool as her she should have an equally cool name.
“that’s so cool!” your eyes twinkle, filled with excitement, completely ignorant to the significance of this moment.
when the words left your mouth jinx left hundreds of degrees hotter. a warmth blazed through her body. no one has ever had this type of reaction to her name.
“so, you’ve been cool you’re whole life, huh?” you scrunch up your face in mock jealousy. “cool hair. cool talents. cool personality. cool name. you’re just a package, aren’t you, jinx?”
why did she like her name coming from your lips so much?
trying to hide her flustered state she puts on a cocky front, “enough of how cool you think i am. are you going to take my gift or not?” she dangles the trinket in front of your face. “you stole it.” you blink at her unamused. still you took it from her hand. “says who? you think i can’t afford something like this?” she tilts her head, raising a brow.
“then what’s this?” you point to the tag.
she looks at it and grumbles. after pulling it off she then put on a faux innocent smile. “what’s what?” seeing how your unamused expression didn’t waver she sighed in defeat. “i just wanted to do something for you, you deserve tiny luxuries like this. maybe it could bring you some luck too. a lucky charm.”
her words managed to make you loosen up. your face softens. “thanks, hon, but i already have a lucky charm.”
jinx’s squints her eyes at you, “wait, you do?”
"i'm talking about you, jinx."
jinx, a lucky charm? how ironic. se had always been the cause of trouble, never the solution. when she did try to find one it only made everything worse. but here the two of you are. you hailed her as your lucky charm. a good omen.
she lets out a bark of laughter, she laughs with her full chest. all of this was too surreal it was making her head spin.
POW POW POW
with distant bangs a cloud of red, then purple, then green, then blue. the town square exploded with a flurry of colorful dust. the dust danced in the sky and fell back down onto the cobbled ground as if it were snowfall.
oh right. jinx forgot about those.
the two of you whip your heads to the noise to see the mayhem going on.
their faces being painted with the colorful dye. the locals dance and twirl along with the ongoing blasts of the bright vibrant powder into the air. children rushed trying to catch the falling powder, some even making angles on the ground.
your eyes snap wide with amazement at the view, “oh my gods!” no way in hell were you going to miss out on something like this. you carefully get off the rooftop ledge and pull jinx with you.
“get your ass up, let’s join the fun!”
screams, panicked voices, and people trying to take cover, that’s what jinx expected. not the sound of flosnum residents’ laughter and cheers. her plans to cause chaos failed.
she really was a jinx.
the overachiever * fem!driver
she's just a little competitive, that's all
pairings: logan sargeant x fem!driver, sebastian vettel x fem!driver, oscar piastri x fem!driver, liam lawson x fem!driver
notes: YAUUUR i'm back with em femdriver updates dawg
(series masterlist) | (📂 the rookie season)
oscar leans to the side as he avoids the ball hurled at him at seemingly an alarming rate — could have possibly taken his head off if he hadn’t moved fast enough — then turns back to the pair on the other side of the court. “oi!”
“loser!” she pumps her fist in the air and hops over to her teammate on her side of the court, hand lifted for a high-5. “do better.”
oscar rests a hand on his hip, chest heaving as he whirls around to where the ball had bounced to. “this was supposed to be a chill game. what is your problem?”
liam laughs, clutching his stomach as he threw his head back. he catches the girl’s hand and nods. “sore losers, aren’t they?”
“isn’t this your first time playing padel?” logan scowls. “how are you already so good at it?”
she shrugs as she puts her racket between her legs, readjusting her ponytail. “you know i can’t stand when i’m bad at things. of course, i prepared myself for today.”
when oscar had invited them out for a game of padel, he had expected it to be a first out of many short games. what nobody had expected, though, is for the girl — who claimed to know nothing of the sport just a week ago — to be absolutely dominating them on the court.
there is a reason they hadn’t invited the rest of their friends or anyone else from the grid. they just wanted to slowly take their time to learn the ropes of the game so that when the season goes underway, they don’t embarrass themselves when they get invited to games by other drivers.
but of course, the overachiever did her research and is already excelling to a certain extent. it’s just something they’d had to endure over the years: her in-explainable need to be good at everything immediately. if she’s not good at it from the get-go, she loses interest quickly.
“how? how could you have possibly prepared yourself for a game of padel? you didn’t even have a racket until 3 days ago,” logan scolds, throwing his arms in the air as the frustration slowly gets to him. there’s just something about her beating him in absolutely everything that’s sort of absurd. “i was literally with you when we went to get your stupid racket!”
“there’s this thing called youtube?” she hums with an eyebrow raised with the roll of her eyes. “and i asked fernando for some tips. so i’m kind of… like… a pro.”
“doesn’t make you a pro,” oscar scowls with a frown as he shakes his head. “makes you a bit of a nerd, though.”
“well i am graduating with a degree in information technology in a couple of months. so, perhaps, i could be a nerd,” she hums, with a giddy grin, “at least if the whole racing thing doesn’t work out… i have a way out. unlike you dropouts!”
“a woman in stem!” liam cheers. “if you graduate first class, i’ll buy you a car. what’s your current grades?”
she presses her lips together, nodding as she tries to formulate a plan for her education. “if i study harder for my final exam in a week, i could make that happen. i’m a pretty solid b grade student.”
“i meant a toy car, you freak,” liam frowns, scowling at her. “you think i’m getting paid loads as a reserve driver?”
“i overheard the team discussing you the other afternoon. who knows? we very well may be teammates next year.”
“i sure hope not,” logan butts in with a snort. “that wouldn’t do anyone any good — two idiots in the same team.”
she tilts her head, blinking innocently at him. “what do you mean? williams seems to be doing great with that kind of lineup this year.”
logan clenches his jaw, puckering his lips as he looks at her. “okay.”
“enough fighting,” oscar rolls his eyes. “ready to lose again, logan?”
the american sighs. “yeah, i guess.”
“god, don’t you know what a demonstration means?” max clutches his stomach, hunching over as the pain shoots through his torso. he watches the ball slowly bounce on the ground, right after hitting him in the stomach.
beside her, penelope giggles as she approaches max in concern. “are you okay, maxie?”
max shakes his head, glancing at the young child before dropping to his knees as he groans. “no, p. she bullied me!”
“she’s so strong!” penelope cheers, hopping over to the older girl with a screechy giggle. “but you should say sorry, maybe!”
“you’re right,” she grins, patting penelope on the head. “i’m sorry, max.” she leans down to max’s ear out of penelope’s hearing range. “that you got outplayed by a girl.”
max lifts his head to glare at her. they were just teaching penelope how to play football, the older girl describing earlier how to score effectively after she expressed interest in the sport. when she was asked to demonstrate the move, max didn’t expect her to kick the ball so hard.
“i knew that was coming. you’re so harsh!”
he was expecting a semi-strong kick to his stomach — something that he could catch and bear before they continued their small game of football. but no, she kicked the ball as hard as she could and almost incapacitated him.
though, perhaps incapacitated is too strong of a word. but he still does feel it in his gut, stumbling back in confusion when the ball came into contact with him.
can he really blame her, though? he sort of gets it: the need to be good at everything to please people. maybe it’s the eldest sibling trait.
“i was in varsity when i was in primary school,” she presses her lips together with a small smile. she holds her arms out to the younger girl and gestures towards her parent’s house. “i could get blythe to make us orange juice, p. do you want some?”
she sighs and drops her hands. “you can do better than that.”
logan drops his stance, his hands resting by the side of his body. “what do you mean? i don’t want to hit you so hard.”
“why? it’s not our first time sparring,” she scowls, wiping the side of her face on the sleeve of her shirt. she lifts her hands again, inside a pair of boxing gloves, and protects her face. “come on. hit me like you mean it.”
“i’m not going to hit you,” logan mutters. “we’re just warming up until benny and noah get here, right? that’s what you said.”
“yeah, but,” she darts a hand out, barely missing logan’s face when he leans back to avoid her punch, “i want a real challenge before they get here. come on, logan.”
but logan doesn’t fight back. instead, he takes several steps back when she tries to approach him, both arms darting out in an attempt to rile him up into a real spar.
“stop trying. i’m not doing this with you,” logan sighs, touching gloves with her everytime she tries to reach forward for him. “i know you were in martial arts growing up too, but i wasn’t. i’m just here because you asked me to be here.”
she grins. “exactly. so, fight back. don’t be a coward.”
“you’re not going to rile me up into a fight. i’m not you.”
“it works sometimes.” she dips down slightly and throws a punch into his stomach, prompting a huff as it hits him. “hit me back.”
“no way. stop asking me to do that.”
“coward.”
“okay.”
she touches his thigh with her feet, the taller boy stumbling slightly. “you’re just gonna let me do that to you? do something.”
“you’re not gonna get anything out of him.” a familiar voice makes both of you turn your head towards the door, benny walking in with a small smile and a gym bag over his shoulder. “very patient, this guy.”
“you clearly did not live in the same house as him for years,” she laughs, running over with her arms opens to get a hug. “will you spar with me until noah gets here? logan is so boring — he never hits me back.”
“hey!”
“sure! but you can’t cry when you lose.”
“maybe.”
sebastian tilts his head and furrows his eyebrows. “are you sure go-karting is what you wanna do over summer break? don’t you have other things to do?”
“we’ve done everything she wants to do,” oscar says begrudgingly as he puts his helmet on. “she cried this morning saying she misses racing.”
logan also looks tiredly at sebastian, shaking his head as he takes his helmet out of his bag. “i woke up to her sleeping on the couch hugging her helmet, by the way.”
the girl scoffs, punching logan’s arm as he unveils a secret he was sworn to never say to anybody else just this afternoon. “no, i was not!”
“ah, don’t be so shy about it,” sebastian smiles. “i also felt like that in my rookie year. all i could think of was being out on the track.”
“i guess i could study for my exams.” she exchanges glances with the 3 men around her before shrugging. “oh, well. time to race and beat your asses.”
“oh? you think you could be a 4-time world champion?” sebastian raises his eyebrows. “i’d like to see you try.”
“you clearly haven’t met me,” she hums, stopping in her track to turn around and face sebastian. she holds a hand out between them. “hi, i’m the most competitive girl you’ll ever meet. and i will beat you at go-karting today.”
while that doesn’t actually happen that evening, sebastian laughed as he climbed out of his go-kart at the end of their 10-minute race. she swears to him that someday she will be good enough to beat him in equal machinery (a go-kart).
which oscar begs to argue that she’s simply overdramatising the situation. but she just knows it’ll happen eventually.
summary: you find yourself integrating slowly into farm life. yes, it’s a struggle. but madison makes it all worth it.
•*¨*•.¸¸♪
the farm has not been easy on you.
your first nail chipped last week and the rest simply followed suit. that wasn’t even your biggest issue. you’ve fallen on your ass so many times that someone could make bank if they had a dollar for each time it happened.
you even got shoved off a stool by stanley. you weren’t getting any better with him but you were definitely trying. cleaning his stable and brushing him when you could.
however, you could admit that things would be a lot worse if there wasn’t a beautiful brunette sporting her cowgirl hat to pick you right back up.
you never thought you’d be getting along with a straight-up country girl. all your friends were the same, raised in the city and went to the ever so posh local private school. perhaps, that’s where you went wrong in the first place.
“hey snappy!” madison approached you while you were deep in thought on your grandparents’ front porch— when did she mount a horse?
madison sat atop a gray mustang— who you’ve come to know as ‘travis’— you need to start telling your grandfather to choose better names. she held onto the reigns while the horse trotted closer to the porch, stopping before the stairs.
“come for a ride.”
who were you to say no to that smile?
you carefully approached, not wanting a repeat of stanley. you were still fairly cautious around the animals, they haven’t been very kind to you either. stomping whenever you did something wrong or making you chase them around. travis was a bit more approachable, probably cause madison was there. you stopped in your tracks.
“i don’t know how to get up there.” you sighed, dejected.
“okay.” madison smirked at you, dismounting the horse. she pointed to the saddle’s stirup. “put your foot in there then…” she pointed to the saddle’s horn, “put your hand there to help hoist yourself up.”
you put your foot in the stirup just as she said, grabbing the horn and slowly pulling yourself up. you felt the saddle move, freaking yourself out a bit and losing your footing. you felt a pair of hands grip both sides of your waist— it took you a second to process that madison was touching the skin that was showing from under your tied up flannel.
“c’mon, i’ve got you.” the sight was enough to make you weak to your knees, but those words— oh, those words had you. she pushed upwards, her hands reaching as far as your ribcage, to help you mount the saddle. her fingers, they were so calloused from working on the farm, yet they were so gentle and warm.
go up further, you thought.
“swing your leg over.” she ordered— and you didn’t even hesitate.
you swung your leg over, slowly adjusting yourself on the saddle. you had to catch your breath just then, you wanted her to touch you more.
“good girl!” she said as you got yourself up.
wait— fuck. good girl?!
“can you take your foot out of the stirup so i can get on?” she asked, looking up at you. you nodded and shook your foot a bit to get it off.
she followed suit, taking her place in front of you. “you’d better hold on.” she said, lifting her elbows for you to wrap your arms around her. you hesitantly put your hands on her shirt and bunched the fabric into little balls in your fist. she simply chuckled, holding the reigns and clicking her tongue twice, using the stirup to nudge travis and snapping the reigns softly.
you kept your hands tight around her white shirt. you were nervous, you’d never been on horseback before. the ride was slow, yes, but you had the feeling you could fall at any second.
“i’m surprised you’ve never ridden a horse before.” madison commented, “you never tried as a kid when you lived here?”
“i was too little.” you shrugged, gritting your teeth, you were holding something back. “i would’ve flown off.”
“you can still fly off when you’re grown.” madison pointed out.
“yeah, i know.” you said back.
“watch.”
“wait— what?!”
madison clicked her tongue again, snapping the reigns a bit more forceful this time and moving the stirups against travis.
travis nickered and started running. fast.
“MADISON!” you yelled, being pushed forward by the sudden force. you wrapped your arms around her waist tightly, your cheek against her back. you geniunely felt like you were about to get flung off.
you heard the cowgirl laugh, she was slightly hunched over to keep herself from getting flung backwards. you found her laugh to be endearing on most days, but not right now when she scared the living daylight out of you. how could she be so okay with this? how was she not terrified too?
she directed travis to take you both to the edge of the farm that overlooked a cliff. the scenery was beautiful. rows and rows of trees with a little pond of water in the middle of it. she dismounted first, then offered a hand to you. which, out of spite, you didn’t want to take at first but then realised how high up you were. you grabbed her hand and slowly lowered yourself off the saddle. you then stood beside her as she smacked travis’ behind, causing him to run off towards the farm.
“wait! what was that for? don’t we need him?!” you protested.
“i thought we could walk back, i scared you enough already today. and he’ll find his way back.” madison shrugged. you rolled your eyes at her.
“how considerate of you.” you said, your tone no short of sarcasm.
she waved to travis then turned to you.
“we talk a lot of work. i wanted to actually have a proper conversation with you.” she said, walking towards the cliff’s edge, a beckoning hand asking you to follow. the sun was about to set, and the sky was a color too beautiful to ignore.
“we have proper conversations…” you grumbled a little bit. you were partially terrified to talk about yourself. you prided yourself on a guard you had set up all those years ago when you realised the world was a lot harsher than people make it out to be.
“yes, about how fat the pigs are getting.” she retaliated as she sat down on the edge of the cliff. you hesitated, stepping back a bit. she noticed you, eyes wide in worry.
“you’re scared of heights.” she said, a massive smile growing on her face that you wanted to kiss off— no! punch off.
“i’m not!” you lied through your teeth, stepping forward but then stepping back again when you saw what was below you. hundreds of feet of air to fall through.
“i saw it. you were scared to mount travis earlier. and now, you won’t sit next to me.” she said, scooting over. “c’mon…” she opened her arms over the free spot next to her. “i’ve got you.”
she seems to “got you” a lot.
it was getting on your nerves a little bit how small you felt. you had walls in place to stop you from seeming so helpless, but madison seems to tear them down without even trying.
you inched closer, practically gripping the ground when lowering yourself into the spot next to her. she wrapped her arm around your waist, securing you into place. you tried to ignore the hot pink flush that covered your cheeks.
“why did you move to the city?” she asked you, looking over the horizon.
“my parents got new jobs. they went from working in town to big shot corporate jobs. i think my dad was kind of happy about it, honestly, he isn’t much of a farm guy either. my mom, she was upset though. but i have no idea. i was just a kid when we left.” you said, starting to ramble. you don’t ramble.
“i see.” she nodded.
“have you always lived here, madison?” you asked, you figured it was only fair that she had to answer questions too.
“well, i live in the next town over. it’s about 20 minutes that way.” she pointed in the general direction of her town. “but no. my dad’s in the army so we moved around a lot before finally settling down. but i’ve always lived on farmland.”
“moving around a lot couldn’t have been easy.”
“it wasn’t. but we made do.” she shrugged her shoulders. “and it’s not like i could do anything about it.”
you went quiet again, your eyes unwavering from the sunset in front of you. when it got dark, you broke the silence.
“how did you come to work for my grandparents if you live in the next town over? surely they have farmhands here.” you teased a bit.
“ouch. you sayin’ you’d rather have someone else?” she held a hand to her heart.
“well…” you teased again. “no. but i’m just curious.”
she sighed and stood up, it seems like you’ve hit a nerve. you didn’t mean to. “let’s walk and talk.” she held a hand out for you to take. with her help, you lifted yourself up and she led you away from the cliff.
she tucked her hands into her pocket and started making her way down the trail. “right. so… three years ago, my father was discharged from the army. unfortunately, he didn’t get any help from the trauma that he faced— i’ve noticed it happens to veterans a lot. at one point, he took off in the night and we had no idea where he went. turns out, he crashed his car into your grandparents’ farm.” she shifted a bit, showing slight discomfort.
“oh…” you whispered. “i’m sorry, i didn’t mean to pry.”
“no, it’s okay. you would have found out from a google search, honey.” you found it irritating how she still managed to make your stomach jump despite the conversation. “they pulled him out of the wreckage and called the ambulance. they stayed with him and kept him alive until they got there. i’ve been indebted to them ever since. they kept refusing my help but—“
“but you can be persistent.” you chimed in, jabbing at her a little bit to lighten the mood. she seemed to take it well.
“yes… actually. i can be persistent.” madison nodded, laughing softly. “so… i know it’s probably a sensitive topic but i’m curious too… why did your parents send you all the way out here?”
you stopped in your tracks for a second. you knew the question would come up, you were just wondering if you would tell her or not. she noticed your sudden freeze.
“you don’t have to—“
“shoplifting.” you cut her off. “i was shoplifting.” you admitted. “they said i’d lost touch with reality too much so they sent me here… which is ironic because the farm is as far away from reality as possible. but i guess they meant that i needed a humbling experience— well, it’s been humbling.” you chuckled dryly.
“you’ve been doing well.” she smiled and put a hand on your shoulder. “and we’re glad to have you here, if anything.”
“thank you, madison.” you just nodded at her and kept walking.
you two started to approach your grandparents’ house again. you walked towards the door but noticed madison stayed back.
“are you not coming in?” you asked.
“nah, i gotta get back for dinner.” she waved her hand in dismissal.
“you’ll be safe?” you asked, unsure where the sudden concern came from.
“i will be.” she tipped her hat at you. you hated when she did that, and that hatred reflected right at your core… your very warm core. she started to walk away but sharply turned back to you.
“oh! my friends and i are going to the rodeo tomorrow. and then we’ll go to the bar next to it. you should come and join us.” she said.
you had been so busy with the farm that you forgot to have a social life. you didn’t have any friends here except madison. you thought it would be a good idea.
“i’d love to.” you nodded, holding the door open for yourself.
“okay, pick you up at 6 tomorrow.”
“i’ll be waiting.” you chuckled, waving her goodbye.
you walked into your grandparents’ house and peeked through the curtains, making sure madison made it out of the driveway safe enough.
you made your way up to your bedroom to wait for dinner to be ready. you closed your eyes for a second, thinking about madison and her family. you wondered how someone could go through that and be as strong as her— it was admirable. you admired her.
as those thoughts ran through your head, you cut yourself off— what were you going to wear to a rodeo?!
•*¨*•.¸¸♪
madison was at yours at 6pm on the dot the next day. she was excited to take you to your first rodeo, and she was excited to have a new friend. her small town friends were close to her heart but it was nice to have someone that bantered with her as well as you did.
she knocked thrice on your front door and your grandmother answered.
“oh hello there, sweetie. she’ll be down shortly.” your grandmother giggled a little bit, why was she giggling? “come in, come in.”
madison followed after her and took her hat off, holding it close to her chest.
“i’m glad you’re taking her out for once. she’s gonna need some people around her to make it through this.” your grandmother said.
madison smiled warmly at her then heard your footsteps descend from the staircase. her jaw dropped the second she saw you. she knew you were beautiful but seeing you like this— this got her good.
you were in a white floral backless dress, very southern bell of you. you wore new brown boots that matched the dress and your hair was done up with curls.
“oh… you look…” she started.
“different?” you asked, teasing her.
“no… well, yes. but in a good way— the best way.” she smiled at you, taking you in.
“thank you.” you said, approaching her. you two were almost chest to chest then you put your hand on her hat. “get that thing on and let’s get outta here.” you said.
she nodded and put her hat back on her head. opening the door for you, she put her hand on your back to lead you out the door.
“m’lady.”
•*¨*•.¸¸♪
the rodeo was something you never thought to attend. it was rowdy and loud and you felt completely out of place. there was alcohol going everywhere and people screaming directly in your ear. you were happy to meet madison’s friends though; triplets named matt, chris, and nick that distinguished themselves by their different colored wardrobes.
you kept your eyes on the event in front of you. this distressed guy getting flung around by an equally distressed bull. he had one arm on the saddle while his other hand was waving his hat in the air. men were waving their fist at him, telling him to hold on.
you found yourself laughing softly when he was flung off into the wall.
“it’s too bad. he lasted a fair bit.” you turned to madison, who was holding a beer in her hand.
“he did. but that bull is relentless.” she said, standing up with the masses as the event came to an end. she offered you a hand.
“that was… definitely something!” you said, taking her hand and standing along with her. “i’d love to come and see it again.”
“really? after all that flinching you did when someone would scream?” she jabbed at you.
“shut it. i had fun watching some poor dude get thrown off a bull.” you laughed.
the crowd started funnelling into the bar next to the showgrounds. it was a massive two-story bar filled with people. the second floor was pretty much one big balcony that overlooked the first floor, which contained a bar and dance floor with a stage & dj booth on the far end.
“care for a drink?” madison asked you, your hands still interlocked. you nodded at her with a smile, “you seem like a non-beer person. a cocktail maybe? for my pretty little southern bell?” she asked, a teasing tone before starting to walk off.
“shut up! i can handle beer!” you protested but then went after her a bit. “wait! you’re right though! no beer!” you called after. you walked off with the triplets to find a table by the dance floor.
you patiently waited for madison to get back, you spotted her making her way across the dance floor with a coke in one hand and a cocktail in the other. she spotted you as well and put your drink on the table in front of you.
“vodka raspberry for the princess.” she said, smirking at you while she took a sip of her beer.
“thanks…” you said, picking it up and examining it. sure, you were surrounded by alcohol all the time. your friends back in the city loved going out and your parents kept a liquor cabinet. however, you weren’t incredibly big on it. you took a sip and raised your eyebrows.
“okay, not bad.” you said, approvingly. “definitely a bit sweet.”
“well, this just means we’ll have to find your poison.” she put her drink down on the table. “you’ll come out more with us then.”
a smile grew on your face when the triplets nodded, all three of them sporting different drinks. your heart felt warm that they all wanted to see you again. you were doubtful that you would all get along at first, being from different upbringings. but you realised that the upbringing didn’t matter, they had a kindness towards you that not even the city itself had.
“what did you get?” you asked her.
“just a coke, i wanna drive you home safe.” she smiled and took gradual sips.
“looks like you’ll have to teach me to drive your truck one of these days then.” you joked with her but madison loved the imagery of you driving her truck.
music started blaring across the shitty speakers that hovered over the dance floor. you recognized the song from ‘footloose’. you heard cheers and suddenly heard stomping from upstairs, everyone was starting to crowd the dance floor. the triplets & madison excitedly got on their feet, madison holding a hand out to you.
“c’mon, ‘bout time you learned a line dance!” she said, you shook your head quickly.
“hell no, i can’t dance to save my live.” you pulled back.
“you’ll do great!”
“no, madison. trust me. you don’t want me on that dance floor with you. i’ll step on your toes.” you stared at her with wide eyes.
“mads! c’mon!” nick called after her with a beckoning hand as the chorus approached.
“okay! okay!” she called after him. she turned back to you. “fine, but you can at least watch.” she raised her brows at you and you nodded. she ran to take her place beside nick and several whoops were heard as the chorus hit.
‘hey mister won't you sell me a fake I.D’
you watched as madison followed the line dance. her footwork was impressive but you had no doubt that it would be. her hips were moving along to the music.
‘there’s a band in the bar that i’m dying to see’
her boots would hit the ground with a ‘clack” when she would do the hops required for the routine. you couldn’t take your eyes off her body. she moved with such a natural flow that you would have thought she was making it all up on the spot. she laughed as the dance went further along, clearly enjoying herself. you wish you had her confidence.
‘i got my money and you got what i need’
oh god. her hips bouncing to the music. the part of the song that required everyone to swing their asses out nearly killed you when she did it. your eyes trailed down her body. the skin of her stomach was starting to show as she moved rigorously. she was toned. toned to all hell. and her legs looked incredibly strong, like they’d be able to take any kind of work. she suddenly caught your eye, licking her upper lip and winking when she got the chance to face you as her ass swung out. your breath hitched, your eyes studying her.
‘hey mister won't you sell me a fake I.D’
the crowd of dancers did their full rotation, ending the routine with four claps. they started breaking off into their own improvisations when the music would keep going. you watched madison jump around, laughing with the brothers and putting her arms around them. the brothers started to deviate, dancing with the rest of the crowd. another girl pulled madison to the side and started dancing with her. they kept their distance for quite a but until madison pulled her in by her waist.
it was no secret that madison could sense the tension between the two of you. she’s caught you staring so many times. but she wasn’t one to just give in easy, she wanted to see what it would be like if your confidence suddenly skyrocketed. she started dancing with this girl during the tail end of the song, she was just having fun at first then she had an idea. she started pulling her closer until they were chest to chest.
a fire burned in your belly… was it jealousy? it couldn’t be. nope— it definitely was. seeing madison dance with that girl, you wish it was you. your instincts were telling you to step in and take your damn chance, but your feet wouldn’t move.
go, go, go.
and before you knew it, you downed your drink in one. standing up quickly, you swallowed your damn pride and practically stomped over to where madison and the girl were. you didn’t know how to interject, she wasn’t even looking at you.
you suddenly cleared your throat, gripping onto madison’s shoulder and spinning her around. she smiled when she saw you behind her.
“hey princess.” she grinned, standing still. the girl waiting to have the attention back on her.
you didn’t give her any time to speak before your arms were around her neck. you’d gone clubbing before, you knew how to keep a beat. the problem was that this wasn’t the club, and this wasn’t a club beat. but you were going to try.
you dipped your hips to the music, swaying side to side. madison caught the hint, her hands flying straight to your hips and her face lowering itself into her neck. she kept her hand on her hat to keep it steady. your hips swayed in unison, fitting together like a puzzle piece.
she knew her plan had worked when you pulled away and started to sway your shoulders too, pulling her closer to you while you stepped to the beat of the song. she was excited to see you building the confidence to put yourself out there.
“i thought you’d never come.” she had a shit-eating grin on her face.
“well, i couldn’t deny you a dance.” you said, putting your hands on her shoulders, still hopping to the beat a little. “you looked like you needed a partner that could keep a beat.” you said, sneering a bit at the girl.
she chuckled at your jealousy. “that i did, darlin’, that i did.” her hands back around your waist, pulling you closer and suddenly dipping you as the song stopped abruptly. “you did good.” she said, lifting you back up.
before you know it, she was taking the hat off her head and placing it on yours. “look at you, baby. you fit right in.”
you stared up at her with a rosy pink blush on your cheeks, a shy smile growing on your face. you… you were wearing madison’s hat. not that other girl. you were glad your efforts were successful. she had chosen you.
you failed to notice the triplets snickering in the background. they were fully aware of the superstition of a cowgirl putting her hat on someone else’s head. madison was aware of it too, but she wasn’t going to give you that satisfaction just yet.
•*¨*•.¸¸♪
after a couple more drinks, you were all ready to hit the hay. you bid your goodbye to the triplets and madison opened the passenger side door for you.
you settled into shotgun and buckled your seatbelt, waiting for her to get into the driver’s seat. you caught a glimpse of yourself in the side mirror. you were still absolutely, undeniably still wearing her hat and you revelled in the sight. you smiled to yourself as she hopped in.
“what’s on your mind, doll?” she asked, putting the keys in the ignition and starting the engine. you remained silent as she let the car warm up.
“nothing major.” you said, looking over at her. “just… never thought i’d enjoy myself this much at a place like this.”
“you mean a rowdy small town country bar? that’s fair enough. i didn’t think i would at first either.” she chuckled and started driving off. “i’m sure the city has it’s fair share of fun but nothing beats the solidarity you get from a place like this.”
“yeah… i suppose you’re right. we all kind of get to the club and branch out back home. it was nice to see everyone dance together.” you toyed with your hands. “i’ll have to get a hat.”
madison grinned at your statement. “or you can just keep wearing mine.” she would be lying if she said she didn’t enjoy the sight of you in her hat. her hat.
“right. it looks better on me anyways.” you joked, running your pointer finger and thumb along the brim. madison glanced over at you, letting her gaze linger.
“it looks better on you. but it also looks right.” she said. you didn’t exactly register what she meant by that, you just met her eyes but then let out a sly smile. using your pointer finger to push her jaw.
“eyes on the road, cowgirl.” you scolded her. she just laughed and turned to look at the road again.
as you pulled into your grandparents’ driveway, you leaned back in the passenger seat.
“thank you for tonight.” you hesitantly took the hat off your head and placed it back on madison’s. while you leaned over, you gave her a kiss on the cheek. “we’ll have to do that again.”
“we will, sweetheart.” she nodded in agreement. she couldn’t hide the smile forming or the red tint that started to cover her cheeks.
“and you promised to let me drive your truck next time so…” you said as you slowly opened the passenger door.
“hey! i didn’t promise anything.” she called after you as you hopped out.
you slowly started to close the door but your gut started to speak to you. you didn’t want the night to end— and it shouldn’t.
you poked your head back into the car. “madison.” you called her name to get her attention.
“mm?” she asked, leaning over to look at you better.
“wanna go for a ride?”
it was madison and her shit-eating grin against the world.
•*¨*•.¸¸♪
madison drove you two to the barn. when she pulled travis out of his stable, you couldn’t help but find it adorable how the horse had so much of a liking for her, practically leaping in excitement.
when she placed his saddle on him, you noticed how strong she actually was. had that strength developed overtime? would you ever become that strong? you asked yourself these questions, never taking your eyes off her.
“c’mon then.” she said, making space for you to hop on.
you walked over to travis, placing your foot into the stirup just as madison taught you. she held your waist as you hoisted yourself up. you noticed how warm her hands were against your revealed skin, you found it comforting as the breeze hit. she hoisted herself up after you, but she sat behind you instead. her full body warmth made you settle in even further.
“not in front?” you asked, turning your head slightly to see her.
“nope, you’re leading on this one.” she shook her head.
“but… i don’t even know how to make him go.” you said, hesitantly holding onto the reigns.
“you snap the reigns just softly or else he’ll start running. and you nudge him a little with your foot. i usually click my tongue but that should be enough to get him going.” she said.
you followed her instructions, snapping the reigns. however, you think you overdid it as travis started to run instead.
“fuck!” you exclaimed, trying to get a better grip on the saddle as madison leaned over, holding your hands on the reigns. her hands covered yours as you felt her weight on your back. it was nice, comforting, your worry practically disappeared when she did that.
“that’s okay, you got him to go.” she whispered into your ear, slightly tugging on the reigns to slow him down. her voice sent shivers down your spine, the cold air made it worse.
you carefully led travis for just a few minutes around the farmland, stopping at the fenced off area and turning back around.
madison’s hands never left yours while you completed the ride. her warmth never left your back either, keeping you safe from the cold. she even moved your hair to the side so she could rest her chin on your shoulder, she chalked it up to being watchful as it was dark and you two might run into something.
she was totally lying.
as you both arrived back to the barn, she dismounted before you. you shifted your body and took your foot out of the stirup and hopped down, using madison’s shoulders for support.
the tension was incredibly hard to ignore at this point. you felt like you could cut it with only a butter knife. you felt your stomach do backflips whenever she’d say something to you. you were going soft for her— and not only that, you were weak for her. you had to do something or else you’d be left wondering forever.
“madison.” you said, calling after her.
“that’s me.” she snickered, looking over at you.
you were walking over to where she was standing, just outside travis’ stable. you stood nearly chest to chest with her.
“before we left, matt told me about the supertition about a cowboy— or cowgirl putting their hat on a woman’s head.” you cheekily smiled at her, teeth showing. she froze up, eyes widening. “and not only that but they told me what happens when a woman does the opposite.” you said, reaching up towards her hat and taking it off, putting it on your head.
she stared at you for a second, eyeing you up and down. she licked her lips slowly. the sight of you in that dress, wearing her hat. she hoped you wouldn’t find out about that but she should’ve known better since the triplets were around. it was all too much for her head to bear, she thought she was going to explode. you fit right into her entire livelihood, it turned her right on.
she stepped forward, her mind losing full control of her body. she captured your lips in a head-reeling kiss, nearly knocking her hat off your head. you wrapped your arms around her shoulders, butterflies immediately forming in your stomach as heat rushed to your core. she wrapped her arms around your waist, quickly pulling you in closer. her tongue swiped your bottom lip, you found yourself letting go, opening your mouth ever so slightly.
she slipped her tongue in your mouth, finding herself exploring it. you let out a soft whimper at the feeling. you started to feel yourself get pushed back gently, until your back hit a barrel of hay. she lifted you up on top of it, you slightly matched her height now. the hay was a tad bit scratchy but that was on you for making your move in a barn. she pulled away, you whined softly at the loss of her touch.
“the things you and your pretty little dress do to me, baby.” she said, reaching behind you to undo the bow that kept your dress up behind your neck. the top half of your dress fell down, revealing your chest. madison smirked. “and not even a bra? jesus, darlin’, what are you tryna do?” she asked, yanking you closer to her so she was directly in between your legs. she took one of your breasts into her mouth while the other hands started to ride up your thighs.
you let out a soft gasp at the sudden contact. she was sucking on your tit like she was a woman starved. your hand resting behind madison’s head started to grip onto her hair when she bit down on your nipple, coaxing a moan out of you. she was only working at your top half but you already started to see stars. she moved onto your other breast, stopping right before the nipple and started sucking on the soft skin around it.
she was marking you. marking her territory. you knew farmers were protective of their land, madison was just as protective over you. she wanted to stake her claim on you— her pretty little wild city girl that she wanted to tame.
while her mouth worked your top half, her hands were multitasking on your bottom half. they moved further up your thighs and her thumbs tucked themselves onto the loops of your underwear. she made contact with your other nipple as she pulled them down slowly, you pulled her head closer, wanting more. she felt some resistance from your panties and realised that when she took them off, the crotch part was dripping— it had stuck to you before she pulled them off.
“christ, baby. you’re already so wet. do i turn you on?” she smirked at you, holding your panties between her fingers and holding them up. you blushed and looked away from them, trying not to look so ashamed.
“baby.” she said, more firm this time. you hadn’t heard that tone from her before. her strict persona made you even wetter, you loved that she took control. “answer me.” she ordered.
“you turn me on.” you whispered, still not looking at her. she chucked your panties over somewhere, you were sure they landed on the work bench. she leaned closer again, placing soft kisses on your cheek as she pushed you onto your back. you saw her take off her flannel, leaving her in a gray tank top, she rolled her flannel up and put it under your head as a pillow. you made sure to keep her hat on while she did that.
she hiked your dress up, bunching it around your waist to reveal your bottom half. you watched her as she unbuckled her pants, lowering them ever so slightly and you caught sight of her underwear. she raised her tank top a bit, revealing her abdomen. you saw her put a hand down her pants as she kneeled down on the ground in front of the hay barrel.
she positioned your legs to have one be over her shoulders and the other was pushed back a bit more, spreading you open for her. she peppered kisses on your thighs, you felt yourself practically almost finish from just seeing her head between your thighs. your arousal was hard to miss, more wetness rushing down, practically dripping onto the hay.
she paused for a moment before licking a stripe up your core, you gasped and gripped onto her hair. your legs shook already with the contact.
“fuck! madison!” you exclaimed out of shock.
“my name sounds good on your lips, baby.” you felt that god forsaken grin form on her lips, you didn’t even have to see it.
without warning, her lips latched around your clit, her tongue circling it. your eyes squeezed shut, your heel digging into her back, emitting a groan from her that sent vibrations through your core. you watched as her arm started moving while she ate you out. she was touching herself to your noises, her fingers circling her own clit. she was so turned on by you that she couldn’t help herself.
you moaned loudly, finding it hard to hold back. she sucked harder on your clit, one of her fingers finding its way to your hole, simply teasing it.
“oh my god, don’t stop!” you said, gripping your own breast for support. your hips were rutting against her mouth, trying to push yourself closer to release. she stuck her tongue out and stopped its movements, letting you practically get yourself off on her mouth. she eventually shook her head, her tongue flicking your clit multiple times.
“doin’ so good, baby. riding my face. you just can’t help yourself, can you?” she quickly went back to latching her lips around your clit, her finger finding its way into your hole properly. she inserted her fingers into herself as well, wanting to be as one with you as possible, wanting to feel the same things you were feeling.
“fuck’s sake, mads!” you said as she pumped her finger in and out of you, mouth still working wonders. the nickname spurred her on, starting to bite down on your clit just a bit. “just like that! oh my god! just like that!” she curled her fingers inside of you, making your back arch as she hit that most sensitive spot of your body. she started letting out soft moans from her own self-pleasure, sending more shivers up your entire body.
you felt that knot build in your stomach, your legs started to shake as your grip on her hair got stronger. she knew you were close to finishing, and who was she to stop you?
“cum f’me, baby. you can do it.” she mumbled, loud enough for you to hear. “cum on my mouth.”
“mads! i’m cumming!” you said, releasing straight into her mouth. you heard her grunt softly, her movements stalling for only a split second as she lapped at your release like it was her last meal ever, holding your shaking legs in place as she did. you were so sensitive and this wasn’t making it any easier. “mmph, mads… sensitive.” you said but she didn’t pull away, she wanted every last drop of you.
you let out a relieved sigh as she pulled away. the arch of your back lowered as you were panting, still laying on this damned hay barrel. she stood up, taking in the sight of you. sprawled out in front of her with your tits out and legs still slightly open.
“my pretty girl… someone ‘oughta teach you that if you rile up a cowgirl, you’re gonna get your money’s worth.” she said, licking her fingers clean and wiping her glossy lips with the back of her hand.
you let out a breathless chuckle.
“oh… i think i learned that.” you laughed, sitting up from your position. while you did, you caught a wet spot on madison’s jeans, laughing to yourself.
“someone enjoyed herself too.” you said, trailing your finger down her abdomen and down to the wet spot. you felt her inhale sharply when you did.
“hmm… well, i had to take advantage of the sight in front of me. makes for wonderful jerk-off material.” she teased.
you shoved her backwards lightly, laughing at her joke. she leaned down to kiss you after stabilising herself. you tasted yourself on her.
you wanted more of her, you wanted all of her. all of her in her southern glory. and she wanted you just as bad.
“well then, pretty girl.” she said, tipping her hat down onto your face, covering your eyes. you whined and raised it back up. “if you do all your chorin’ well tomorrow, you might just get a prize.”
•*¨*•.¸¸♪
the next day, it was straight back to work for the two of you. you spent half the day shovelling dirt with a 6am start, then you and madison decided to start helping your grandfather out with fencing. he warned you to be careful as the fencing was delicate and could snap, it’s caused serious injury in the past. he tasked you and madison to work closely together to avoid that— not that you were complaining. you got your fair bit of teasing in.
when your grandfather wasn’t looking, you would turn around and run a hand down madison’s toned body. it caused her to shudder a few times. you even sneaked in a little neck kiss, causing her to turn you around and force you back to working.
it made your head reel whenever she would take control of you, finding it harder and harder to resist her.
you complained and complained. you talked about how hot it was, how dirty it was getting. you could feel madison shoot you a dirty look but you couldn’t help but make several comments about the state of the farm. you knew you were in for it when madison pulled you into a forceful kiss, shoving you backwards to shut you up. you never said a word after that.
after a long day, you both were covered in dirt. your grandfather said he could drive you back but madison cut him off, making a fake excuse how you wanted to see the animals. you had no idea what she was up to.
when you both arrived at the barn, you waltzed right in, walking over to travis and petting his head while only giving stanley a short wave. you walked over to the sheep, peeking into their pen.
“their coats are getting larger, pop says it’ll be time to sheer them soon. i wanna see what they look like without all their hair.” you said, distracted while madison was checking on stanley.
“they look like freshly peeled potatoes.” she chuckled. “you’ll be the one sheering them, y’know?” she patted stanley’s back. “your grandfather told me yesterday how he can’t wait to teach you.”
“i find myself learning a lot nowadays…” you sighed a bit. “doesn’t seem like there’s any time for a break.”
“no… the farm is harsh.” she shook her head, walking back over to you. “it’s always needing something. but that’s nature. nature needs humans just as much as humans need nature.” she said, reaching down to hold your hands and pulling you to where the workbench was.
“wow… who knew you were such a poet, mads?” you giggled at her, following where she led you.
“you seem to inspire me, baby.” she moved to sit down on the bench, pulling you closer. she kissed down your chest as she lowered herself down. she undid the flannel that you had tied up to keep it from flying everywhere while you guys worked.
“mads… what’re you doing?” you whined, running your hands through the hair that was hanging out of her hat.
“remember when i said you’d get a reward for working hard today?” she asked, untucking your top from the denim shorts you were wearing. “i intend to keep my word.” she mumbled while kissing your stomach.
“oh? is this your idea of a reward?” you asked, heat rushing straight down to your core when she left kisses on you.
“mmhm… you were being a brat today, you should be thankful i’m still giving it to you.” she said, muffled. she pulled away suddenly and you watched her with curious eyes.
“do you know that saying about saving a horse?” she asked, unbucking her belt and unbuttoning her own jeans. she raised her eyebrows at you as she lowered them down, revealing a purple and pink strap on. your eyes widened at the sight of her leaning back, her strap on full display for you. “ride a cowboy— cowgirl, in our case.” she said, a smirk on her face.
“mads… i don’t think i can take it all.” you said, playing with your hands.
“you can, darlin’. i know you can. but you’ll have to get it lubed up first.” she eyed you up and down, her pointer finger pointing to the ground. “get on your knees and suck my cock, baby.” she said, a hint of dominance in her eyes. you loved how comfortable she was with ordering you around. it made you feel less weak, less like you were fragile.
you obeyed, getting on your knees and looking up at madison through your lashes. she bit her lip looking at you, feeling her own arousal as she saw you on the ground. you took her cock in your mouth and started bobbing your head, your hands wrapping around the base. she groaned softly, the sight of you had her wishing that it was her actual cock. she loved seeing you submissive for her after you were being a brat today.
she leaned her head backwards, her eyes rolling into the back of her head. she looked back up and made direct eye contact with you.
“fuck… darlin’, you look so fucking good on your knees for me, using that pretty little mouth of yours.” she said, leaning her head back again but not too far, making sure her hat stayed on. “that’s it baby, get it nice and wet for your pretty pussy.”
you loved the way she talked to you. the words were filthy but you couldn’t help but notice that she used ‘pretty’ to describe you. it made you feel good about yourself, like you were doing something right.
you felt her hips start to move slightly, thrusting upwards into your mouth. it hit the back of your throat and you gagged softly, pulling away and coughing.
“sorry baby, was that too much for you? i just couldn’t help myself. i wanted to be as far in you as possible.” she said, leaning forward to grab your arms and pull you up. she helped you take off your shorts and pulled the back of your thighs forward until you were kneeling on the bench, straddling her. “let me make it up to you.”
she put two fingers in between your thighs, the pad of her middle finger circling your clit. you felt youself get unstable for a second, the sudden contact making you already weak.
“does that feel good, baby?” she cooed at you, looking up at you with a grin on her face. you nodded in response. “yeah, i bet it does.” she said, a cocky tone in her voice. her fingers moved away from your clit, mocking up and down your slit. “so wet.”
“mads, please.” you whimpered, your hands holding onto her shoulders.
“okay, okay. you’re right. what princess wants, princess gets. and i have to stretch you out a bit anyway.” she said, slipping two fingers into you. you gasped softly. you felt madison press kisses into your chest, her other hand pulling your shirt down to release one of your breasts, taking it into her mouth. she only pumped her fingers in and out a few times before pulling them away.
she scooted around a bit until her strap was aligned with your hole. “ready, baby?” she asked, gently running her hands up and down your waist. you nodded, your bottom lip in between your teeth. “okay.” she muttered.
she pulled your hips down slowly, watching you swallow her cock whole. “fuck!” you cried out in pain at first, never having experienced anything as big as this. you just sat down on madison’s lap until you adjusted to her size, your face buried in her neck as you tried to catch your breath. when she felt you loosen up a bit, she lifted you slowly, pulling you straight back down. the cry of pain turned into a cry of pleasure.
she pulled away slowly, trying to see your face. “you can do it baby, ride my cock. ride my cock like a good girl.” she said. you sat straight back up and started to bounce on her cock, your hands still on her shoulders as your eyes fluttered shut.
“madison, it feels so fucking good.” you said, moans leaving your mouth every single time you sank back down, taking it whole. you started to arch your back into her, wanting more stimulation. she caught the memo placing both her hands on your back and pulling you down even harder. she started to kneed one of your breasts with her hand.
“look at you. riding me like a real cowgirl. you’re so fucking sexy.” she said, you could practically hear the grin on her face. “you’re not so tough now when my cock is in you, huh?” you shook your head, holding back a whimper as she took your nipple between her fingers, toying with it.
“want you to fuck me harder.” you muttered. “i want more of you.”
she started to buck her hips up, the noises of your skin smacking against each other filling the barn. she started to grunt softly as well, her head leaning down on your shoulder. with the remaining strength you had left, you picked up her hat off her head and placed it on yours.
she couldn’t help but pull away again, just to look at you wearing her hat, riding her cock. the state of you was enough to make her cum right on the spot.
“you look so good in my hat, doll.” she said, keeping her pace of bucking her hips. “lookin’ like a real cowgirl.”
you started to feel that tension build up in your belly again. you were starting to get close to sweet, sweet relief.
“mmph, getting close.” you said, beads of sweat starting to form on your forehead. your pace was starting to get sloppy, your thighs trembling with each descent onto madison’s cock.
“yeah?” she asked, one of her hands moving to rub your clit at a quick pace. “that’s it, cum for me baby. cum on my fucking cock. you know you want to.” she coaxed it out of you. “good girls cum.” she said.
with that, you completely came undone in front of her, that knot in your belly snapping as you came down hard. you leaned forward, face tucking into madison’s neck as the two of you panted, practically in sync. your eyes opened again after being squeezed shut. you saw stars as they opened back up, pulling away from madison’s neck to kiss her.
“we need to get you a hat of your own soon, sweetheart. you look too damn good in that.” madison chuckled through pants.
“i like wearing yours though.” you whispered, still trying to catch your breath.
“yeah? i like you wearing mine too.” she smiled at you, pushing the wet strands of hair that stuck to your neck back so she could place soft kisses down.
she slowly helped you stand back up, pulling her pants up and pushing the strap back into her underwear.
“that horse better be feeling really saved right now.” you giggled.
•*¨*•.¸¸♪
madison drove you back to your grandparents’ place. she walked you to the front door where your grandparents were sitting on the porch swing to your right.
you were still reeling from your earlier orgasm that you didn’t see them right away, stumbling as you made it to the last step.
“oh! careful darling! are you alright?” your grandma asked.
“yeah! just a bit sore from today.” you quickly defended yourself while madison stood behind you holding a laugh. she decided to chime in too.
“yeah! with those legs, she’ll be a cowgirl in no time!”
