I’ve been brainstorming for YEARS on how to make an oc i like for shipping buffy with for stories where i do want her to have a happy healthy relationship but i’ve commandeered spike like in spanya stuff and i think i finally cracked it

Vampire guy who looks like young ville vallo/the crow who’s thing that makes him a Special Acceptable Vampire™️ is his tragic backstory. His sister was the slayer before buffy, meaning she died and buffy was called. She dies around 18 and him 25, vampires attacked their whole family and turned them to hurt her. So its like cruciamentum, family massacre, death. To make it REALLY tragic i’m consider she might have killed herself or gone suicide by external force after what happened to her family. And it destroys him, only made worse bc he cleans up the mess of their fucked up family, like their sister was simply Too Young to be left like that forever etc.

So he goes on the hunt for the next slayer and the council to protect the next one better and also Get Revenge against the council. He does a lot of evil shit but he’s too busy with being sad or working on his music career to get too deep into villainy. Totally soulless, never gets one, he’s just a very chill sad maniac and i think buffy would absolutely get all 🥺 at him so like thank GOD i finally have SOMETHING jdjccn

hc that throughout the years, jude takes leaves of absences form being high queen to go spend a couple months w vivi heather n oak !!! madoc too ig while he’s still exiled lol. ( vehemently ignoring the stolen heir’s canon sorry not sorry.) family bonding time, far away from the hubbub n chaos of the folk, n also the realization that jude doesn’t mind the mortal world all that much. yes it’s not faerieland, but it’s smth alright n she finds it soothing at times. she’s less unhinged n paranoid compared to when she was younger n the ptsd from her past has decreased in its intensity thanks to heather-mandated therapy ( heather only had to hear a couple times abt the duarte sisters’ fucked up childhood for her to plead jude to go to therapy—vivi alrdy has— n jude relented after 5 yrs of honest-to-god begging. big slay heather our mental health queen 🫂) and so that’s why she can even leave faerieland in someone else’s hands. these visits aren’t too frequent but they r long in their duration. 3-4 months tops. sometimes cardan comes along bcs the bed feels empty w/o jude n— Okay he’s js lonely w/o his wife. sue him. some poor hapless councilor advisor is forced to be in charge in their place (they send letters weekly. ‘please your majesties, when will you be returning home ?’ #urgent LOL) one day jude (age:37) notices grey hairs appearing on her head n she sort of freaks out. not in an entirely vain way either. more like:. oh fuck aren’t i supposed to not age as long as im in faeirieland ?? 3 long discussions later w cardan n the royal folk-human specialist, the conclusion that is reached is that bcs of jude’s visits to the mortal word, as infrequent as they r, theyve seemed to affect the way her body ages. or more aptly put, doesn’t age lol. jude gets some grey hair n lines on her face while still technically NOT aging. n she feels less panicky abt it bcs hey she’s not aging. sort of. meanwhile, cardan finds himself deeply enamored w jude’s grey hair n the subtle creases on her face that multiply slowly. he tells jude js so n she’s like i am not susceptible to flattery cardan greenbriar. hes Serious abt it tho n tells her that he isn’t saying that bcs it’ll make her feel better or wtv but bcs her aging evidently is actually beautiful to him. cue jude sour pursed lips for a bit as she gets these days when it comes to cardan being unbearably earnest towards her but she feels less weird abt the hair n lines so :)

anyways this was a long-winded niche asf hc that appeals to exactly only 2 ppl on this site n im not even confident in THAT estimate lol

Anyway; Akeri and Taerne have a uh. yeah they sure uh

I don't think I've ever mentioned either of them before but it sure has been A Month (summer) that we're working through

The woman comes stumbling out of the woods that back onto the cottage, and Akeri’s first thought is corpse. 

She looks up, hand digging into the dirt for a connection, feeling the boundary agreement tremble through her bones. 

Her second thought is that this is a woman alone, coming out of the woods that Akeri is here to protect and seal. 

Akeri stands, hand still tight around dirt. 

The boundary agreement snaps tight at the low stone wall and the woman (corpse) stops with it, swaying on her feet like a drunk. 

She is drained, bleached white. Her hair is fine and tangled and just as pale, a glowing aura clumped with dirt. 

She is naked, Akeri realises. Naked and covered in blood, splattered across fine lines traced over her skin in black ink that looks to still be wet. 

She is staring at Akeri, her face smooth and expressionless. Her eyes dart from Akeri’s horns to her hooves to her tail, and her hand tightens around something pressed behind her arm. 

“We have an agreement,” Akeri breaks the silence, pitching her voice clear, “the woods and I. Do you seek to break it?” 

The woman (corpse sings the trees, reborn whispers the stones, stolen cries the earth) blinks at her. “You talk with the trees?” Her voice is rough, hoarse and croaking and almost broken. “You can hear what they say about what – about me?” 

Akeri frowns. 

There’s a storm front coming in, thick and dark over the woods. The wind tugs leaves from the bed of the woods, sends them flurrying around the woman and over the wall to rest in Akeri’s garden. 

Akeri steps forward. “Do you have a name?” The wind cuts through her layers, sinking the chill into her bones. 

The woman, naked as she is, doesn’t seem to be affected. Her swaying has faded out and now she stands solidly at the wall. 

“Taerne,” she says (forgotten murmurs the trees, abandoned grumbles the stones, murdered mumbles the earth). “Just - Taerne.” She eyes Akeri. “Nothing more.” 

“Akeri,” she replies, and lets the dirt fall from her grasp as she offers Taerne a hand. “Come on in. There’s a storm on the way.”
