If you're refusing to vote for the sake of sending a political message to a party you already know and expressly state doesn't actually care, you have written off a vast number of people you claim to support as acceptable losses. You are willing to let those people die for the political equivalent of a junk mail flyer that goes directly to recycling without being read. Or, you're willing to let them die because inaction just feels better to you.
So how exactly do you expect those people to believe you'll stand with them when there are actual consequences for doing so, like getting arrested or shot or having your whole family targeted by modern day brownshirts? You've already demonstrated exactly how much you think their lives are worth.

thinking 'bout how the lads interact with what the bracelets represent, especially in their decks
#marwospeaking#Yuuya is by far hardest to work with on this because he Varies. but that might just be him being opposite to Yuzu so it might count?#anyway Yuuya is a bushfire made by fireworks set off without proper precaution (the improperly set off fireworks being Zarc..#.. being influenced into the position that made the lads through his desire to both destroy and entertain his crowds)#It's small sometimes. but in the right conditions is an unstoppable conflagration#Yuuto literally does not die. In a world where we never truly get the other two (Yuugo and Yuuri) interacting with their host (Yuuya)..#.. outside of duels. he very much does. He is undead in a way the others don't quite match (pre Zarc revival) and it's opposite to..#.. En Bird's life (assuming it counts death too as part of its cycle)#Yuugo uses machine monsters - things that distinctly don't breathe. and in most cases have exhaust pipes billowing fumes#and machines can be warm to the touch at times. which you could feasibly slide against Rin's Windwitches for being Very Cold Ladies#Also he's trapped no matter where he is. Neo Domino has a stronger grip on him as a person than anyone else. and when he might finally..#.. escape that. he's trapped in someone else's body with no canonical recourse. because the story ended on Yuuya's terms and no one elses#Yuuri is hardest to place but I think he's very stationary. Sere's monsters are dancers - constantly moving - and she's very able to#adapt as she goes despite how stupid she can be book-wise. Yuuri is rooted into his role. even when he discards his loyalty his role was..#.. always in Zarc's interest no matter if he knew or not. The Professor's loyalty from him is an add-on to that#... I'd argue Zarc cared more about his pieces than Ray cared about hers also? He made cards for them on the fly so they'd Win#Even in moments where that victory is not in a wholly positive light - Odd-Eyes Raging and Gatlinghoul - but we know he's capable of it..#.. a la allowing Yuuya to debut pendulum monsters on his behalf in order to win against Ishijima#something something this can then apply to the other lads. they never lose except to each other and Ray's girls (at least on screen)#Yuuto survived 3 years of war. even despite Yuugo and Yuuri showing up. so methinks Zarc must've had a role in helping him survive#Like. Zarc's distinctly present for his Lads. Ray's not present for her lasses until one of them speaks through her#Sure it's very possible that's a bracelet thing - they are floodgates at the end of the day - and not a Ray thing. but it also wouldn't..#.. surprise me given Ray is an Akaba. we know they will sacrifice others for a gain later on - Ray's was sacrificing a whole world to make.#.. a safer one for everyone to live in. irrelevant on if they remember it or if they never existed originally. Also like, trying to not make TLoU AU Kseniya just…wildly overpowered is fucking hard. Because yeah sure, chronic pain and looks visibly infected (meaning anyone with half a brain cell and a gun will shoot on sight) and blind; that all sucks…
…but she can fucking talk to cordyceps. She can talk to the Infected. Her and Pierce run across three Clickers? No problem, just let Kseniya casually walk up to them and make them go away. Because unlike Ellie the Infected read her as one of them, so not only will they not attack her but they’ll treat her like any other Infected. Cordyceps isn’t inherently evil or violent—it’s a fungus, it can’t have morality. It’s doing what every fungus wants to do: survive, propagate, and make more of itself. It just mutated into something that can use humans to do that, not because it hates humanity but just because that’s how it went.
So if Kseniya’s like “yeah no, not a viable host, sorry!” the Clickers will wander off and leave Pierce be.
That is UNBELIEVABLY overpowered in a TLoU context. 50% of the threat to their survival is just…gone! Poof!
#it’s an incredibly interesting inversion from tabula rasa#where kseniya is this unstoppable killing machine and yet utterly helpless in the face of her programming#and by extension hydra/department x#hence why she NEEDS pierce and NEEDS strike so badly in that world#this kseniya can barely use a rifle at the start and can just casually tell zombies to go look for food somewhere else#and she still NEEDS pierce because she does look visibly infected and without someone there to be like NO DON’T would ABSOLUTELY get shot#the second literally anyone came across her#but it’s a need that’s much less desperate than tabula rasa senya#tlou kseniya comes off more vulnerable in mannerisms but can probably fuck your shit up worse than tabula rasa kseniya#especially if i take this to the logical tactical conclusion and have kseniya not only say go away but also go attack those hunters#this can turn into a unstoppable force of post-apocalyptic nature VERY FAST if i let her become that#and that’s without factoring in the side benefits like being able to use the underground fungal network to compensate for her blindness#and know when people are coming because they stepped on some cordyceps#i know the theme of most apocalyptic stories is#humans are the real monsters and shit#but MAN are other people the literal only problem these two have in this context#guess we’re leaning REAL HARD into this theme#tag meta#tabula rasa tlou au#tlou au kseniya

It's sort of a mystery how animals in general are able to detect things like this. There are theories though.
#dogs#service dogs#i was at an indoor event and a woman was was walking through with her service dog. the dog insisted on approaching me#which then lead to the woman asking if i have epilepsy. i confirmed yes i'm epileptic and she said her dog is telling us i'm#about to have a seizure. most of my seizures provide no outward signs. during an EEG a few years ago thr machine showed i was#having a massive seizure but again no outward signs. in fact when the dr started talking to me i was chatty conversational and#had zero confusion or disorientation. the dog sat next to me while whining and and looking at me and then his human#to calm him down i sat in a nearby chair and chilled out until the dog was satisfied. i had a seizure but again no outward signs aside#from suddenly feeling weak and kinda off which is from my being hypoglycemic. seizures burn through my glucose and require#i boost it up quickky or recovery will take much longer and include a migraine. so a nearby vendor rushed over with a bottle of#apple juice. after about 15 minutes i was able to walk again and simply felt like a bag of wet noodles for thr next couple#of hours. the dog's human told me her dog is trained for epilepsy and i should consider getting one for myself.#except they cost waaaaay more than i can afford. service dogs save their human's life and the life of strangers. fucking amazing.

Anyway if you have a cat that you just let outside and 🤷🏼♀️ when you don’t see it for a few days because “it always comes back” I genuinely hope it claws the shit out of you and that someone then comes up and kicks you in your fucking shins.
