I refuse to watch Sonic 3 if theres no Amy or Rouge. I refuse to compromise on this front. Both girls need to be there.

Okay I finally figured out Comet's origin story. Long version under the cut but short version is: knuckles finally got to reunite with the surviving echidnas but they didnt want to leave their homes to live on the floating island, so an alien felt bad for him and gave him a fankid <3

Okay so to recap stc canon: Knuckles has spent his entire time on the floating island believing he is protecting it until his people return. he doesnt remember, but he used to live in the ancient echidna city with Tikal and Pachacamac, but somehow was transported 8000 years into the future (present day). This happens after Tikal briefly brings Sonic back in time to help the echidnas fight off the Drakon empire--fish-shaped aliens that discovered chaos energy (the emeralds were made by the Drakons with the echidnas' sacred emeralds, then the echidnas "stole" them back and the drakons declared war). They succeed in beating them back for this battle, but my headcanon (which ended up being p close to what Kitching supposedly planned out) is that after this battle, the drakons come back and end up wiping the echidnas out--those that arent killed are taken off mobius as prisoners/slaves. At some point, some of them are able to escape and form a sanctuary away from the drakons.

Okay now we gotta talk about the Kaamdaarns. The Kaamdaarns are alternate dimension aliens that appear in 113, 119, and 120. They are peaceful aliens with "highly advanced science" indistinguishable from magic, which they use to disable any weapons on their planet and then also to free Shorty from his cybernik suit.

so the STORY WITH COMET GOES... Kintobor helps Knuckles to identify some kind of beacon signal that appears to be coming from other echidnas. Knuckles and Sonic hop into a spaceship (tekno and porker collab) and through a dimensional portal (tekno and kintobor collab) to find the source. they find a colony of echidnas long-established on a sanctuary planet under the protection of the kaamdaarns. the reunion is pretty bittersweet for knuckles bc like. these are people 8000 years removed from his culture. there are maybe some things still in common but otherwise their lives are completely distinct from how he grew up. and after 8000 years, very few if any of them consider the floating island home more than the place they are now. even those that might be interested in going back with knuckles are wary of the risk of leaving the safety of the kaamdaarn planet and being captured by drakons. and for a bunch of ruins... it's not really worth it

so knuckles has once again lost the whole Purpose of Everything He's Done and ummm well it goes about as well as the first time that happened

so he's hanging on by a Thread but the kaamdaarn that brought him and sonic to the village--her name's haven here she is--

says "you know what will fix that? a child." and see above: her making comet. GREAT idea, i agree. i mean the thought was more like "surely there is a way for you to both stay with your friends AND with other echidnas." but same difference. anyway sonic doesnt know what kind of egg that is.

My ideas for what stories could take place after the Sonic movies

At some unknown point, after Metal Sonic is defeated yet again, Sonic and his friends take him prisoner. Then, they see that Little Planet has come to Earth, and they all decide to travel to Little Planet in a spaceship, with Metal Sonic in tow. As they travel in space, they talk about what fun they’ll have on Little Planet (given that it’ll be their vacation). However, Metal Sonic managed to [break free and] escape and get to Little Planet first. And when Sonic and his friends arrive on Little Planet, Metal Sonic has entirely taken it over (having used the Time Stones to conquer the past), ruling over the planet and/with his robotic empire/armies, and taking the title/identity of [Lord] Neo Metal Sonic. Sonic and his friends find themselves trapped on Little Planet, with no way back to Earth, and so have to spend their entire time trying to fight off an army and defeat Neo Metal Sonic. (With Neo Metal even sending an invasion force down to Earth, attacking Green Hills, unleashing ultimate weapons which include Titan Metal Sonics and a metallic creature called Master Overlord. And Sonic has to use [some of] the Time Stones to travel to Earth, going to the Present in Earth time, and stop the invading metallic armies. Though Sonic finds out that Neo Metal Sonic was not part of the invasion force, instead overseeing the operation in his Metallic Madness base back on Little Planet.)

Neo Metal Sonic has been looking into multiple timelines and the possible outcomes using the Time Stones, and he has secretly been working on a contingency plan: A Power Gem Core, for which he plans to transfer his consciousness into in the event of his possible defeat, and would have the unsuspecting heroes take it and bring with them, thus bringing him back to Earth for him to conquer when they least suspect/expect it. Towards the twilight of the Battle of Little Planet, Sonic and Neo Metal Sonic would have their final battle, and during the fight, Sonic accidentally touches the Power Gem Core, which absorbs his biodata, which will cause problems for Neo Metal Sonic later on. Then, Sonic defeats Neo Metal Sonic and foils his plans, which causes a big explosion with a bright white light. Neo Metal Sonic is mysteriously absent. Sonic and his friends then use the Time Stones to fix up the past.

Much later, a robot wakes up in the ruins of the Metallic Madness base, very much confused about what is happening. (The robot has the Power Gem Core in/on him, located on his torso, and it’s something the robot is not entirely sure what it is, or what it’s used for/the purpose of it.) During his days in the base, he writes on the wall[s] “Shard”, of which he doesn’t know its meaning nor why he did it, but he decided that it would be his name. Shard believes he is a regular robot who must do everything in his power to earn the trust and respect of Lord Neo Metal Sonic. (What he doesn’t know/has no knowledge of, is that he IS Metal Sonic, reincarnated into a new body after the explosion from the Final Fever. Unfortunately, Metal Sonic finds himself a prisoner trapped in the Power Gem Core, and because of the copied biodata of Sonic, the Gem has created a second personality, one which has been activated, and one which Metal Sonic dismisses as a glitch.) After some more days, Shard later crawls out of the base, and notices Sonic & his friends getting ready to leave Little Planet after they have fixed the past. Shard sneaks into the ship as it takes off and heads back to Earth.

Once they get back to Earth and reunite with Tom and Maddie, Amy later notices some strange noises and goes to investigate. Once she discovers the sources, she meets Shard, and she is initially hesitant to listen to the robot. Shard assures her that he means no harm, and she wants to learn a lot about the robot. Shard is touched/moved, having no one ever ask about him before, and so he explains his story (even noting that the first thing he saw before coming online was a bright white light). He also explains that he doesn’t want to get “Lord Neo Metal” angry at him. Amy does take his words into consideration, and feels some compassion for him. She then tells him that she’ll talk to the others about him. (And she also tells him that he doesn’t have to serve Metal Sonic.)

Later on, during Shard’s time with Sonic & his friends, Tails and Amy have Shard taken to his workshop. Tails analyzes the Gem on Shard’s chest, trying to determine what is the nature of the Gem. As they go on with this, Tails tries to pry the Gem out, inadvertently tampering with the Core, and activate the suppressed mind of Metal Sonic layered deep within. Tails and Amy then give up on trying to figure out what the Gem is (with Amy even apologizing to Shard about the whole procedure). They all go back to what they were doing, but Shard later gets headaches (because of the Power Gem Core reactivating Metal Sonic’s consciousness and attempting to take over), with sadly no one noticing.

Much later, when Metal Sonic has taken over, he attacks our heroes once again. He also says to Tails and Amy that he owes the both of them a debt of gratitude for freeing him from his purgatory in the Power Gem Core. Amy then shouts at him, asking him what about the new life he made for himself, the time he spent with Sonic and his friends, his time and life as Shard. Metal dismisses that as a “glitch” in the software (and Amy saying that he’s full of it, not actually meaning what he says). Metal Sonic then proceeds on his spree, dealing serious damage to Sonic’s friends, and beating Sonic to near death. Amy runs up to try to save Sonic, but Metal Sonic hits her away. This awakens Shard’s personality, and he attempts to stop Metal Sonic from hurting anyone else. The two personalities/programs then fight, which causes Metal Sonic to suffer “seizures” all over his body, giving Sonic an opening to attack Metal Sonic, landing several hits on him. Amy notices the internal conflict, and stops Sonic from damaging Shard/Metal Sonic any further. Then [either the group or some powerful entity] decides to separate Shard and Metal Sonic permanently, and the two are separated. Shard gets the Power Gem Core permanently, and Metal Sonic escapes, declaring that this isn’t over.

Shard is then taken back to the gang’s house, and they decide to take him in as one of their own, if they hope that Shard is okay with that. Shard happily accepts, and settles into his new life, ready to help out his friends whenever in need. (Shard is given a black and gold paint job (possibly by G.U.N. at a later point in his life), is left-handed (given the multi-gadget arm), and is kind hearted [& a bit insecure due to his nature as a robot].)

113: Empress of Mars - Season 10, Episode 9: The Doctor, Bill, and Nardole are in NASA headquarters, watching them test a new camera on the surface of Mars, where they see rocks spelling out "God save the Queen". The Doctor tracks the message back to 1881, where they arrive, but the TARDIS takes off with Nardole inside. The Doctor and Bill meet an Ice Warrior and a platoon of Victorian soldiers. The soldiers say that they found the Ice Warrior, Friday's, crashed ship and helped him to repair it in exchange for promised riches back on Mars. The soldiers have been helping him to mine.

Their mining effort finally breaks through a wall, where they discover an Ice Warrior Hive, including the Martian Ice Queen. The Ice Warriors wake up and begin to fight with the British soldiers, but the Doctor deescalates, but peace breaks down when one of the soldiers fires. While everybody else fights, the Doctor, Bill, and one officer are held prisoner, but are freed by Friday.

One soldier takes the queen hostage, but is killed by another soldier to free her. Surprised by this, she decides to show mercy to the humans, and stops the fighting. The Doctor helps the Ice Warriors send a distress call to another planet to get them a ship, and they set out the rocks spelling out God Save the Queen. The TARDIS returns for them, only for them to find that Nardole has released Missy in order to pilot it for him.

144: The Tsuranga Conundrum - Season 11, Episode 5: The Doctor, Ryan, Graham, and Yaz are injured by a sonic mine and wake up on a medical ship 4 days later. The Doctor wants the ship to turn around, as they left the TARDIS behind, but discovers the ship is on auto-pilot, with only medical staff aboard. They discover a small creature aboard doing damage to the ship by eating parts and draining them of power, including the Doctor's sonic screwdriver when she tries to scan it.

The ship detects the creature, called a Pting, and due to the danger it threatens the main hospital if the ship completes it's journey there, begins a self-destruct sequence, which the Doctor works on delaying. They realize the Pting is attracted to energy and that the self-destruct would come from a bomb built into the engine room. The Doctor takes the bomb, which is increasing in power, to attract the Pting and sends it out into space with the Pting following after it.

Above the cool, blue planet there was a satellite station known as the Space Colony Ark. In one of the windows overlooking the stars stood a girl, hair golden like the sun and eyes an oceanic hue. She frowned as she looked down upon the planet, paying no mind to the itchy, restricting collar of her blue gown. She’d grown accustomed to it these past few weeks, though she still preferred to unclasp the gold button when her captor wasn’t looking, allowing a sense of freedom and self-expression however small it may be.

It was rather boring aboard the Ark, though the girl supposed that was better than most kidnapping situations she’d seen in her cartoons back home. There was no sun to wake her, so she had to rely on either a simple alarm or the regular check-ups from her so-called “brother”. After waking up came breakfast, then studies, followed by lunch and some afternoon activity. Then there was freetime, which she often used to find clues to aid in her eventual escape. At the end of each day came a check-up and health evaluation, always conducted by this strange nurse that resembled Sonic and his friends rather than any human she’d witnessed in her life. Finally, it was bedtime.

And thus the cycle continued.

There also existed a plethora of secrets and hidden passages aboard the pristine Ark, which thankfully gave the girl some sense of adventure in her time there. By this point, she’d nearly mapped out the entire station, though there were a few rooms she was never allowed in.

Everything else was fair game.

“Hey there, kid! Ready for your check up?”

She didn’t even face the winking nurse.

“Where’d Shadow go?”

The nurse shrugged, “Who knows. I’m sure he’ll be back soon.”

“...”

Out of everyone on board, the nurse and caretaker of the Ark was the only one who didn’t force the name ‘Maria’ on her, unlike the unseen doctor and her assailant. She didn’t necessarily address her by her real name either, though Eve didn’t believe correcting her was worth the energy.

Though she felt thankful that Shadow was away at the moment, she couldn’t help but feel some level of sympathy towards the hedgehog. She’d been terrified of him the first few days after waking up from her head injury, though quickly realized he had no intention of hurting her. In fact, it seemed as though this whole mess started because of a deep desire to protect her, or this ‘Maria’ she slowly learned of over the weeks.

From what she’d figured out, Maria was a very sick girl who lived here aboard the Ark alongside Shadow and the doctor. They were her family and loved each other very much. This was especially evident in the activities Shadow pushed on her to try and “remember”, including reading, art, and lessons. In his mind, the year was still 1953 and everyone had mysteriously vanished one morning after he’d woken up, causing him great panic. When he found her, he believed she was Maria and that she was in grave danger due to her ‘illness’. That was why he’d kidnapped her, insisting something was terribly wrong the entire way.

Any attempts at telling him otherwise were met with a sharp denial and more health examinations by the nurse before her. That was why she searched the Ark. Her hope was that proving him wrong would snap him out of his delusion and convince him to set her free. He was always kind to her, going out of his way to make her happy, so she wasn’t afraid to address him. That wasn’t the problem.

The problem was that there was no proof.

At least…not in the rooms she’d already searched.

It was risky, but she knew she’d have to start looking for a way into the forbidden rooms, and that search would start tonight after everyone was asleep.

She turned, ready to join the eccentric nurse without further hesitation.

“Alright. Let’s go.”

“Right this way!” The nurse blew a kiss into thin air.

Yep. Definitely eccentric.

Eve looked up from the book she was reading in bed.

“Maria? Can I come in?”

She sighed, unwilling to turn away the surprisingly well-mannered hedgehog. To his credit, he never acted in a way to make her feel unsafe and she was well aware her injury at the school had purely been by accident.

To be honest, she didn’t mind his company.

You know…when he wasn’t forcing her to live as if she were Maria.

“Yeah…”

The colony door slid open, revealing the young, tired hedgehog wearing a set of pajamas. He rubbed his eyes a moment as he entered, sitting on the edge of the bed and releasing a small smile.

“What book are you reading?”

“Legend of the Black Wind.”

“What is it about?” The young hedgehog looked into her eyes with genuine curiosity.

Eve paused for a moment in shock, “You mean you haven’t read it already?”

“Papa would bring us new gifts every time he visited Earth. He got us this book on his last visit before…well…” He trailed off, clearly bothered by her lack of memory.

“Oh…”

“...”

“...”

“...”

“It’s about a bad guy who lost everything. He hurts others because of how he’s been hurt, but in the end, he remembers the wishes of those he lost. He gives up everything to save the world he once hated and becomes known as a hero.”

“That’s such a sad story…”

Eve shook her head, “Not to me. I think it’s a happy story because it reminds us that there’s always a chance to do the right thing.”

“...The right thing, huh…”

“Yep.”

“And how are any of us supposed to know what the right thing even is…” Shadow clenched his fist.

“I don’t know…I guess we just know when the time is right…”

“Maybe…”

“...”

“...”

“Shadow…You have to know by now that I’m not Maria…”

“...”

“I like you, Shadow. I really want to be your friend but…”

Shadow rose from the bed.

“...I can’t replace her-”

“I think you must be tired after all that reading, Maria. Don’t worry though…” He turned to smile at her, a couple tears threatening to fall, “...Even if you can’t remember me fully, we’ll just make new memories together…here…home where we belong…”

“Shadow…”

The hedgehog walked over to the door.

“Please…I miss Earth…”

He paused, refusing to turn back and face her.

“Rest easy, Maria.”

“Shado-”

The door slid gently shut behind him, all traces of his presence gone. The girl remained still for another moment before curling up into herself, all her frustration, anxiety, and sadness spilling over into her tears. She silently cried until there were no more tears left to cry before finally looking up in newfound determination.

Tonight she would finally seek some answers.

Tonight she would finally begin to make her escape.

Eve waited until everyone was well asleep before sneaking out of her room. Each step was tread with silent care, every corner double checked for signs of life. She felt like a spy in one of her cartoons, which offered some level of amusement in an otherwise harrowing situation. Out of the three forbidden rooms, Eve decided to first check the maintenance bay, mainly due to Gerald’s looming presence over the Ark. He was never seen, always using the overhead speakers to address everyone from either his lab or the captain’s quarters. The girl wondered at times if he was merely a ghost like the ones back at the castle set, haunting the isolated space station for all eternity. She quickly came out of her thoughts though as she arrived at her destination.

“The maintenance bay…”

“Huh?”

She pressed an ear against the locked door, picking up on small shuffling sounds within.

“Odd…Okay…let’s try this…”

Eve pulled a pin from her hair and stuck it inside the lock like she’d read about in one of the adventure novels aboard the Ark. She turned and turned but…

…

Nothing.

She tried again…

And again…

And-

“My my, quite the little thief we’ve got here.”

“-!!!” Eve sharply turned her head behind her, catching sight of the nurse from earlier. How she’d not heard her approach, she had no idea, but this was bad. Even as Maria, who knew what kind of punishment awaited her now…

“I-I-I’m so sorry! I-I w-was only t-trying to-”

“Relax kid. I’m on your side.”

“Huh?”

The nurse removed her uniform, tossing it behind her in disgust. What remained was a sleek, black bodysuit with a pink heart ordaining the front. From her back, two large, black wings flapped open, the nurse in question rolling her shoulders as she released a sigh.

“Ah. Much better.”

“A-A-Ahh…” Eve didn’t know how to react, flying between wanting to scream and freezing solid.

“Woah! Woah! Easy kid! Your dad hired me to help…well…my team to be more specific…”

The girl eased up a bit, looking at the winged creature with awe, “Who…Who are you?”

“Rouge the Bat, member of G.U.N.’s 7th squad.” Rouge extended her hand to shake the girl’s, “I know all about you and your friend, Sonic. I come from his world after all.” She winked with a small giggle.

“Y-You mean Mobius?”

“That’s right! I also ended up in the blast that sent everyone here and you could say that I ended up on the wrong side of the law…you know…being the wonderful jewel thief that I am.” Rouge pointed to herself with flair, “After that, I ran into this old hag and was invited to join her squad in exchange for my freedom. Little did I know my mission to investigate G.U.N’s more…corrupted branches…would land me in the perfect position to ensure the safety of our sponsor’s missing daughter. Well…fortune does favor the beautiful I suppose…” She sparkled with her self-aggrandisement, ignoring the human girl’s incredulous and somewhat confused stare.

“I…guess so…”

“But enough about me. You certainly didn’t expect to pick that lock with such a tiny hairpin, did you?”

“Umm…” Eve blushed in embarrassment.

Rouge sighed, “Just leave it to the professional, kid…”

Eve’s eyes began to sparkle, “Oooh! Does this mean you’re going to use some fancy trick or spy gear to melt through the door or something!?”

“Nope.” Rouge held up a shiny key, “A real thief doesn’t even need to pick locks. She just takes what she wants.”

“Woooah…”

With a single turn of the key, the lock popped open with a small click.

“Now…let’s see what this ‘Gerald’ guy has locked away in-!!?”

Both girls froze before the shocking sight, Eve covering her mouth in horror as her eyes fell upon the beaten and bruised figure tied up before her.

“Kn-Knuckles!!?”

The red and purple-bruised echidna leaning against the giant emerald behind him let out a small cough, his shaky gaze meeting the young girl’s tearful eyes.

“E-Eve…? What are you doing here…” He shifted his gaze to the bat beside her, “...Rouge?”

“In the flesh, handsome.” Rouge smiled teasingly.

Knuckles rolled his eyes, “Whatever, Bat Girl…” He winced as he attempted to shift his position slightly, “A little help?”

“R-Right…” Eve immediately knelt to his level, trying her hardest to untie the echidna through the trembling in her hands. It was no use though and she continued to struggle greatly until Rouge came to her aid.

“Stand back, kid.” Eve obeyed as the bat raised a pocket knife from one of her boots, slicing the binds off Knuckles with ease, “There. You owe me, Red.”

“Pssht! As if!”

Rouge’s hands flew to her hips in disbelief, “You know a simple ‘thank you’ would go a long way!”

“And why would I thank the jewel thief who worked alongside Eggman to keep me locked up here!?”

“Well if it weren’t for me, you’d be dead! Is that what you prefer!?”

“Uuh…guys…”

The couple turned to the girl, speaking in perfect unison, “What!!?”

The girl jolted, though slightly amused at the spectacle, “Shouldn’t we…be focusing on a way out of here?”

“You know, Red, the girl’s got a point.”

“Oh like I was the one making a scene just now?”

“Why I-!!?” Rouge paused, looking down at the kneeling girl holding her arm.

“Rouge…please…he’s been through a lot…”

The bat softened a bit, though still remained somewhat on edge, “So?”

“I’d be angry too if I was beat up and shoved into a closet like this for weeks…”

Rouge sighed, the tension leaving her. She smiled thoughtfully, “You sure do have a lot of empathy, kid…Alright…I won’t fight anymore.”

Knuckles flashed a cocky grin, “There…that wasn’t so hard now, was it?”

“And you…”

“Eh? M-Me!?” Knuckles pointed to himself sheepishly.

Eve stared at him sternly, folding her arms, “Mom and Dad taught me that it’s polite to always say thank you when someone does something nice or helps out.”

“Uh…r-right…sorry…” Knuckles looked back up at Rouge with a smile, “Thank you, Rouge, for coming to save me.”

Rouge stared at him in awe a moment before averting her gaze, “Wow…you can be…surprisingly charming when you want to be…”

Knuckles blushed slightly at the compliment, unsure how to respond. It didn’t matter though as Eve was already behind him, helping lift him to a standing position. He stumbled a bit, causing the considerably smaller girl to stumble alongside him. She didn’t give up though, continuing to steady him as he regained his balance, Rouge jumping in as well to help. After a moment, the echidna smiled at the human girl, waving her away as he refound his footing, standing tall beside her with a couple heavy breaths.

“Are you sure you can stand on your own?”

“Yeah…Thanks, kid…”

Eve smiled, “Hehehe! No proble-”

She froze, eyes wide.

“Hm? What’s the matter?”

“…”

“Eve?”

“This way!”

“Hey wait!”

It was too late. With that, the girl ran out of the maintenance closet and around the corner, leaving the bat and echidna behind to watch in shock.

Knuckles turned his face away, closing his eyes, “I’m sorry…if my words hurt you earlier…” With that, he ran out after her.

Rouge froze at his subtle apology, her cheeks blushing slightly as she watched him run out the door.

“Y-Yeah…don’t worry about it…”

She shook her head in denial as she ran out after them, paying no mind for once to the large emerald left behind.

The girl with the golden hair navigated the halls without a second thought.

She paused a moment at a fork in the road, looking between the two halls before racing onward.

“This way!”

Huff huff

“Eve…Slow down…”

“Where are you taking us, Blondie?”

She didn’t answer, continuing to stare ahead with steely focus until she happened upon a large set of locked doors. She ran up to them and stopped, standing there silently as her two friends caught up to her.

Rouge’s eyes flew wide, “This is-!!”

“Okay…Why did you bring us here?”

“...”

She continued to stare at the doors, unblinking.

“Eve?”

Knuckles waved one of his large hands in front of the unmoving girl’s face.

“H-Huh?” She blinked a couple times, looking around in confusion, “Wh-Where are w-hey wait…isn’t this…?”

“Stand back you two.” Rouge approached the doors, sliding a stolen key card along the scanner. The doors slid open with a puff of air, revealing a large, circular room with a window overlooking Earth along one of its walls. Various types of science equipment were strewn about, decorated with cobwebs and various stains. A couple tables were flipped, with broken switches and syringes lining the floor.

Knuckles grabbed the girl’s shoulders before she could take off again, “Hey, stay close. Got it?”

She nodded, “Right…”

The trio walked through the doors slowly, past a large computer with multiple screens. Their eyes then fell on a circular area in the center with loose wires hanging from the ceiling, no longer producing any spark of life.

Rouge swallowed nervously.

“Professor Gerald’s lab…”

“Who?”

Eve’s head turned to the right, catching sight of a glowing gem.

“But…?”

She slipped from Knuckles’s grip, reaching out…

“He’s the one holding us all captive here.”

She grasped the blue gem before her gaze shifted upward…

“How can that be though if he’s-”

“AAAAIIIIIEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!”

“EVE!!!”

“BLONDIE!!!”

The girl fell backwards, scrambling away from the disturbing sight as she clutched the emerald close to her chest. Knuckles slid down next to her, reaching out and holding her as she buried her face in his arms, a few tears flying from her eyes as she began to tremble. Knuckles and Rouge looked in the direction she’d come from, their eyes widening as they saw it.

“A-A…skeleton…”

“Hey…It’s okay…I’ve got you, kid…” Knuckles shielded the shaking girl from the horrifying sight.

The skeleton before them was lying on its chest atop a blood-stained floor, a faded, blue dress draped gracefully over its decomposed figure. A few holes lined the cracked bones, including one straight through the middle of the skull. Rouge covered her mouth in shock, immediately recognizing the style and fit of the outfit.

“Th-That’s…”

“Maria? What are you doing in here?”

“-!!!??”

Submission #90: Yet another take on Sonic Adventure 2

(Ok so quick warning, this part here was written after I finished everything else and Warning: it’s pretty long…like REALLY long… this was supposed to be a quick concept thing but I ended up creating a whole ass rewrite of a section of SA2 I would recommend you set aside like 15-20 minutes to read this as I’ve included a lot of detail)

Convoluted title I know but this one is going to be pretty jumbled up as it’s just an idea I’ve thought off and wanna see if anyone does anything with it. You know how Amy has the rings similar to Shadows inhibitors, hers are probably weights whilst shadows are inhibitor rings, I’m not sure if this has been mentioned or something but I think this idea could be cool, though it would also deviate from the original story of SA2 quite a bit, let me explain.

My idea is that with Amy’s modern design for SA1 and SA2, her outfit would be the exact same but without the rings on her wrists (maybe replace them with the bands she has on her riders design).  Instead she doesn’t get the rings until the end of SA2 when sonic returns to the ark after him and shadow fought the final hazard. Obviously the story would have to get reworked slightly with Shadow and Amy possibly having a few more scenes together and give Amy her own character arc, she still doesn’t fully believe in herself as she isn’t treated as an equal. (because let’s be honest the early 3D days Amy was ignored and not taken seriously by almost everyone in CD, SA1 and SA2, including Sonic).

One way to make Amy more important to the story of SA2 is to have her get to the ark much quicker so there could be an extra scene or two with her and Shadow. (It doesn’t even have to be shipping stuff but Shadow having flashbacks of Maria through Amy’s words similar to the how Amy helps Shadow remember Maria’s final words in SA2)  A way I think would work best to get Amy on the Space Colony Ark quicker is during prison island, instead of Rouge being trapped fighting the R-1/A Flying Dog (the Rouge boss fight in prison island, I’d show a picture but I don’t know how to)…

…she fights Amy instead.  The way this would occur is that when Amy would free sonic, he would tell her he needs to find that faker and make him pay, then runs off instantly, leaving Amy behind. In the hero story, after the stage metal harbor there would be a cutscene with Amy walking around, saying that she’s lost and she’d get annoyed and say out loud  “I would sacrifice anything for everyone to take me more seriously, even that fake hedgehog”  (Remember this)  (Also this might seem out of character for but at this point she‘s like 13? I’m not sure but she’s angry and this is something someone her age would say. Keep in mind she only sees Shadow as a Sonic copy, thinks he’s a Villain so she doesn’t really care about like, same with her and metal sonic.)  This part would be in the dark story Playthrough.

Then she runs into Rouge, Amy remembers she was with Eggman and fights her, trying to get answers however they both get locked in the room like Rouge did in SA2. The story would continue as normal with shadow showing up and surprisingly, he’d save both of them without hesitation, teleporting to the ark just before prison island blows up.  A scene would take place right after with Amy looking confused and relieved however Rouge instantly begins questioning why he saved them, Shadow says it would’ve been more hassle for him to get the emeralds off Rouge in a few seconds but Rouge counters by saying that’s a fair point but he could’ve just left her behind (pointing to amy) however he actively ran over to her and saved her too. He just walks off saying she talks too much however amy runs grabs his hand and says.  “Thank you”   Shadow just stares back for a second and says “it won’t happen again…” then walks off. (This would purely be a dark story cutscene)  To me this makes more sense as she doesn’t really do much in the story other than help shadow, maybe even have sonic and tails think she died (and in the hero story, actually have the player think she’s dead for most of the story) and have sonic realise that he should’ve treated her much kinder and as an equal and not someone who holds them back. This could even make sonic wanna go after shadow even more as he thinks that him and eggman killed her, to further set up the rivalry his shadow but that part is just me throwing ideas around for a potential SA2 rewrite I’m thinking of doing. This new concept also won’t be a typical “damsel in distress” as it’s flipped on its head since Shadow actually saved her by “kidnapping” her.  Let’s say in this hypothetical rewrite Shadow starts off like the others, he doesn’t take Amy seriously at all similar to everyone else as he’s only known her as “sonic’s fangirl” but Amy begins to learn that there’s something more to shadow, he doesn’t just want to conquer the earth like eggman, he wants revenge on everyone on earth (maybe he’d say something like “they took everything I cared about away from me” when she’d ask him why he’s doing this, I dunno) and she’d grow to understand him.   Through this, shadow would learn to treat Amy as an equal as she says she’s fed up of not being taken seriously by anyone so shadow does just that, he actually begins to listen to her closely. Through shadow treating her as an equal and talking to her, he begins to realise she’s making valid points about how no-one deserves to be killed but he doesn’t falter in his mission however she’s slowly chipping away at Shadows exterior as he acts slightly kinder to both her and Rouge.  Maybe even Rouge could get some development from Amy too with Rouge listening in on one of their convocations and amy says that  “I try to be kind to everyone, even though sonic doesn’t treat me as an equal…I know being kind works because you’ve treated me as an equal because of it…”  This causes Rouge to hold some of the master emerald shards and think…She’s used to being around selfish people so that’s all she knows but being kind…She’s never tried that. (this could explain why Rouge gives the master emerald pieces to Knuckles after he saves her because she’s learning to be kind as well)

At the end this, all this buildup and the extra scenes would would make it more believable for Shadow to be convinced by Amy and she will also learn a lesson here, correct me if I’m wrong but shadow would be the first person to treat her as an equal. The way shadow would truly treat her as an equal is by actually thanking her, at the risk of sounding too cliché he would tell her.  “Thank you…you’re worth much more than you think, Amy Rose”  This coming from the ultimate life form himself would mean something, at least to Amy.  After that he says   “I need to keep my promise to Maria…and to you” then he runs off.  When Shadow appears to fight the Biolizard,  Knuckles would ask why he suddenly changed sides, he could say something like  “That friend of yours, Amy Rose, you should all thank her…”  With sonic responding with a in a guilty tone   “Yeah…I know that now…”  And the same thing would happen, Super Sonic and Super Shadow would fight the Final Hazard and using the chaos emeralds to become super for the first time along with taking off his inhibitor rings would take its toll on shadow and cause him to fall to earth…only leaving his inhibitor rings remaining like in the original story.

The final scene of this version of SA2 would have Sonic returning aboard the ark without Shadow, he has a smile but it looks sad most of them would congratulate Sonic but Rouge would ask where’s Shadow? Sonic would close his eyes and let out a shaky breath, saying that he couldn’t have won without Shadow…   (I do recommend that this part is best experienced whilst listening to SA2s “the last scene” OST on loop whilst reading this part for extra emotional kicks, trust me it makes a difference. this all is purely emotional but in a good way so you have been warned.)

(Each “ending scene” between the rivals would take place in this order)  Firstly a unique one, amy and rouges reaction to shadow death.    Sonic walks over to Rouge and Amy who are standing at the centre of the room, giving them Shadows inhibitor rings and says  “This is all I could get before I saw him fall to earth…”  He’d give one to both of them and say he’s sorry. Rouge would look away and walk off, holding her tears in however Amy’s eyes widen…like she’s realising something. The blue hedgehog would look at amy and speak.  “I’m sorry…I never took you seriously, even after you’d stop chasing me…I promise to listen to you like I do with Tails, Knuckles and even Eggman…” He puts a hand on her shoulder to comfort her but  she drops shadows ring and she slaps sonics hand away and shakily whispers…  “No…”  This confuses everyone but this time she shouts…tears streaming from her eyes  “I did this to him…I don’t deserve any of your respect… I sent him to his death, he wanted to help because I begged him too. I killed him”  “I even said I would sacrifice anything for all of you to take me seriously, even him and…it feels like I did! It feels like I sent him to his death just to get you guys to listen to me! It’s all my fault!”  With that she runs off, running past everyone, sonic and tails would try to chase after her however surprisingly Rouge tells them to leave her, that she’ll talk to Amy.    The second “ending” scene would take place and it would be another unique one.     Rouge would find her where the convocation between Shadow and Amy took place about how she knows being kind pays off because shadow begun to treat her as an equal. She’s crying and Rouge walks over to her and just watches, unsure of what to do however Amy wipes her tears and says she can’t be weak…  Rouge nods her head and helps her up however Amy asks Rouge something…  “S-Shadows inhibitor rings… could I have them?” Rouge at first looks confused but then after smiles and nods her head, giving them to her.   The final scene between Tails and Eggman would play.   Eggman and Tails look ahead at the stars…The fox is unsure on how to feel, they won but it feels like they lost…surprisingly Dr Eggman speaks up in a tone Tails has never heard before.  “As a child, I looked up to my grandfather because of all the great things he accomplished in his life. He was my hero, and I wanted to be a great scientist like him. But… did he really mean to destroy us? To destroy Me?”  Doctor Eggman, the most renowned genius in the world sounds so defeated, even cracking at one point, even after Tails and Sonic have stopped him time and time again, the mad Doctor has always bounced back…but now…he sounds so defeated.  Much to the doctors surprise, Tails speaks up, attempting to comfort him. “I’m…Im not sure but one thing I know, he was tipped over the Edge, pushed to a limit that no person should ever have to endure, he lost everything and took it out on everyone…he had the right to be mad but he didn’t have the right to destroy everything… I…I don’t know what to say Eg-“ Tails stops himself “Ivo Robotnik, I’m sorry you had to go through that, I can’t imagine what it must feel like.”  The Doctor looks down and wipes his glasses clean… “T-Thanks… I’m going to be shutting down the Space Colony Ark in 30 minutes, that’s all the time everyone has up here, then it’s never to be set foot on again”  With that, the Doctor walks off, tails looks back to see Sonic look at Ivo Robotnik. They seem to stare at each other, almost as if they’re having a mutual understanding through their sight alone but the Doctor kneels down and sonic does something unexpected, he surprisingly hugs the Doctor, he can’t hear what they’re saying but Tails figures it’s private…but he could’ve sworn he saw the Doctor wipe his eyes…    The scene between Rouge and Sonic would play after that     Rouge walks over to the blue blur and speaks. “I calmed Amy down…I don’t know when she’ll feel better, could you and the others…be there for her? Help her get over her grief?”  Sonic looks at the bat and slowly nods… “I will, I promise. Me, Tails and even Knuckles will help her, or at least try as much as we can… Again I’m sorry about Shadow”  Rouge looks at him and shakes her head. “You tried your best…in the end that’s all that matters. But do you think…that the doctor only creates him for revenge? Or something more?” She questions with sonic looking at the planet below.  “I’m not sure…but what in do know is that he was a brave and heroic hedgehog who sacrificed his life to save everyone, that’s who he was.”  Rouge nods her head and walks away.     The scene between Knuckles and Rouge would play.    Rouge is standing, looking out to the coldness of space, uncomfortably with her Arms crossed and biting her lip, trying desperately to hold back her tears, she may not have known shadow for long or as personally as Amy did…but it still doesn’t change anything, right now all she feels is the coldness surrounding her.  “Got any plans” A gruff but soothing and kind voice asks, Rouge slowly turns around to see the Echidna looking at her with…worry? Surely that can’t be right, the same Echidna who crashed the shuttle the heroes used to get here…  “Y-yeah, I think I’m going to give up this line of work, too much work for too little pay, plus-“ She looks at Knuckles’ reflection in the window “I’ve got something better than jewels in mind…” She says with a crack in her voice, she hopes that the Echidna didn’t pick up on it, that’s he’s as dimwitted as everyone thinks he is but obviously he catches on…  “Hey…are you okay?”  “Y-yeah…I’m just looking down below. It’s beautiful, don’t you think?” She says, desperately trying to steer the conversation away from current events.  Knuckles looks down at earth and grunts… “It was…but after today…I can’t look at anything the same way again” He pulls out the master emerald which has shrunken down. “Heh, Tikal helped me learn to do this, makes it much more easier to carry around, want to hold it? I know you love jewels…”  Rouge looks at him wide eyed…why had he offered to let her hold the master emerald? Surely he’d know she could easily run off with it, Knuckles opens up her hand with his own and gives it to her, letting her hold it.  “I-I think it might make you feel at least a little bit better…”  That’s when it clicks in her head…he’s trying to comfort her, in his own little odd way, he’s trying to comfort her, make her feel better, sadly at the realisation of this, here eyes begin to water up, her vision getting blurry and the facade breaks, she slowly begins to let the tears fall from her eyes…  She drops the master emerald on the floor and cries into knuckles’ shoulder, hugging him as hard as she can, expecting him to push her away or shout at her that she dropped the master emerald but…that’s not what happens, he holds her tightly and tells her.  “Don’t worry…It’s alright to cry, he was your friend”   And finally the scene between sonic and Amy would place but slightly altered.   Here it is…   Planet Earth, such a beautiful and disturbing place, after this day, after what he’s heard and seen happen, he can’t look at it the same way again, what anyone can be capable off if they are pushed enough to the edge…  Sonic looks ahead at Earth, the stars and and feels…guilty…he was there, he saw Shadow fall however he lied to everyone…  After the final chaos control on the Space Colony Ark which retuned it to its normal position in space, no longer heading towards earth, Super Sonic looked around and saw two Rings floating, he picked them up and flew over to where he saw shadow, no longer in his Super form, very slowly moving away from the ark and towards earth.  Suoer Sonic quickly flew over to shadow however what happened…was heartbreaking.  Sonic would’ve been able to catch the ultimate Lifeform, in fact he should’ve but Shadow…Shadow pushed him away, he said that he doesn’t  deserve to live after what he’s done, he broke Maria’s promise, hurt so many people and almost killed everyone. Sonic told him that he deserves a second chance to make them happy but Shadow smiled…  “Sonic…it’s funny you know, I think in another time, we could’ve been friends, maybe if things turned out differently we would be…but we’re both running out of energy, my super form has already run out and yours… it’s going to run out anytime now. So this is my final gift to you…goodbye, Sonic The Hedgehog.”  “SHADOW! NO!”  Shadow ended up using his remaining energy to use chaos control on sonic to teleport him back to the Ark, which right after it happened, Sonic’s Super form ran out…

From the observation deck Tails told sonic that Eggman was going to shut down the Space colony ark in 30 minutes which was around 20 minutes ago so the teleporters from earth and the Ark wouldn’t work, Sonic said he’s gonna catch up with tails nodding and walking off, leaving Sonic alone in the observation deck…  “The Ultimate Life form…Shadow The Hedgehog”  Just as he goes to walk away he sees Amy walk over into the observation deck, her eyes are puffed from crying but he can tell she’s trying to be strong, he smiles and walks over to her.  “I’m…Im so sorry Amy…I don’t know how close you got with Shadow, but I couldn’t save him… I appreciate you easing off on the romance but I shouldn’t have just ignored you when you needed my help…”  “I forgive you” Amy replies with a smile, a sad smile but a smile nonetheless. “People make mistakes, we’ve seen that today…but we also know that we can change for the better…so here’s to a better tomorrow Sonic.”  Amy extends her arm for a handshake with Sonic smiles and accepts.  “Here’s to a better tomorrow”  However he looks down at her wrist and sees something…new.  “Hey…are those?  Amy looks at her wrist and let’s put another smile, but this time it’s not a sad one…  “Yeah…these were his, I asked Rouge if I could have them, she said yes. Even when Eggman saw me wear them I could’ve sworn I saw a genuine smile from him. I think they look great but I also want to remember him like I remember you.  As a hero, someone I admire and want to be like.”  Sonic closes his eyes smiles.  “Me and you both Amy…me and you both”  Amy asks if he’s ready to leave and sonic Smiles.  “Yeah, let’s go back to the planet as cool and blue as me…”  They leave the room and the lights turn off but sonic looks back one last time.  “Sayonara…Shadow The Hedgehog”

Author’s notes: (you can skip if you want cuz this is long enough already but it gives additional context to some scenes. There are also some other submissions I’ve written noted here to)  If you haven’t noticed I have written some submissions here before as (I think?) an anonymous user but finally made an account, specifically for this blog.  Most notably  Submission #59: A take on Shadamy I’m 60-40 on this, it’s not written the best but I think my concept of their relationship is good enough  Submission #68: Yet another take on Shadamy Not particularly proud of this one I can’t lie, the concept is decent but I didn’t proof-read it so it’s it’s sloppily written, I might either make a part 2 as a submission or just rewrite it and make it a complete story, though there was that one person who enjoy commented that they enjoyed it, I’m glad they did  Submission #74: Yet another Shadamy Scene Rewrite I think it’s my best Shadamy piece I’ve done, it’s  a very simple SA2 (can you tell it’s my favourite sonic story/game yet?)scene rewrite based on shadow and Amy’s first encounter on prison island.  Though I kinda wish I called the title of my first submission “yet a take on Shadamy” to fit in line with my “yet _____ Shadamy _____”  I wanted those final scenes to pull at the heart strings, sure it’s possibly too emotional for a Sonic story but I really don’t care, all of those scenes were based on experiences in my life so I tried to write the characters as “realistic” as I possibly could. I even snuck in some Knuxouge because I think it’s the only sonic ship that should be canon in the games, it makes the most sense to me. I also really hope I didn’t come off as bashing Sonic, that really wasn’t my intention, I really like Sonic as a character but I think this was the most realistic character development I could’ve given him. Rouge was definitely more emotional here but I think that makes sense, I didn’t even think of knuckles consoling her until a bit after so I promise it wasn’t just for a knuxouge moment. I couldn’t really do much with Tails, best I could do is have him sympathise with Eggman and referring to him as “Ivo Robotnik” was my was of showing that tails truly cared about Eggman in that moment. Also Sonic hugging Eggman might be slightly out of character but everyone is at their emotional limit here, including Eggman himself was hurt here, he found out the man he admired, his grandfather didn’t just not care about him but was willing to kill him, if felt personal to him and sonic saw that…   What I tried to do was not to create a Shadamy story (even though it certainly comes across as such because even though I love Shadamy, I don’t want any relationships in any main sonic games, hint at them sure but not proper relationships). Instead I tried to create a story with the basis of Sonic adventure 2 (my favourite sonic story) and improve certain aspects.   It just so happened that in my eyes, giving Amy a proper role would do exactly that and filling in details such as making it even more believable that Shadow would turn good at the end, giving a proper character arc to Amy and improving on Rouge’s and giving Sonic a character Arc with both realising that people can change for the better because knuckles wasn’t evil in 3&K, he was tricked. Sonic would also learn to take Amy more seriously.   Side note but I’ve always head people say that sonic has always been a flat character however I disagree, I think that became the case after SA2 because in that game, he learned that not everyone is purely good or bad, he learned that people will do bad things for good reasons and good things for bad reasons.  Another detail this adds is making it way more believable for Sonic to go back to Eggman when he takes Amy hostage because in SA2, sonic and tails just leave amy wondering around, both creating a liability and ignoring their friend however up to this point (in the hero story), Sonic, Tails and eventually Knuckles thought Amy had died on Prison Island but hearing her alive and being taken hostage would make it a good twist from a story standpoint along with making it WAY more believable that Sonic would rush back to Eggman. (even though tails was there).  Of course I had to add a scene between sonic and shadow, making it make more sense as to why shadow fell to earth and sonic couldn’t save him, I wanted to add shadow saying that they could’ve been friends in another time because that WAS true at one point, in heroes and 06 they respected each other and were friends with a slightly rivalry. In shadow the hedgehog, minus all the “evil” paths (which I don’t seem as canon) shadow and sonic are usually on good terms. Only in Boom is where there was an active distaste between the two.  Anyway that’s enough of me rambling. I originally wasn’t going to write some scenes and just skim through them like I have done with others but the ones near the end were too important for me to just simply skip. I’ve been writing this for about close to 3 hours now on my phone and I still have a few things to say but I’m satisfied with what I’ve written for now.  I’m going to be honest but this is the most emotional piece of work I’ve ever written, (coming from a guy who doesn’t think these characters beyond a few should be all “lovey-dovey” but speak through their actions and what they’re willing so do to make friend/partner happy) like I did with knuckles here. Anyway I’m not going to link my AO3 here because my work isn’t nearly as emotional, it doesn’t have much shadamy and I also don’t wanna self promote here as well but if I write a SA2 rewrite with this concept, if I’m allowed to link it I will however it won’t be for a while as uni is killing me.  I hope you all enjoyed me rambling, I apologise for it being so damn long but I just has WAY too much to say and just ended up writing another part of a fanfic. I do have thoughts on Amy’s bracelets! This headcanon is a good overview, and it includes a link that goes into greater detail. It’d be interesting if they had taken your approach, too. I like it!

You’re not the only one who’s wondered if Amy ever felt guilty about being the one to convince Shadow to fight. I have a super old headcanon about it. It’d be nice if the others had had a wake-up call of some kind around then that they shouldn’t just leave her behind and ignore her. It was a trend that continued for far too long. I also never liked Tails’ line to Eggman in the game, as the chipper “We all did it together! :D“ declaration sounds super jarring after Eggman’s serious line. I really wish he had matched Eggman’s tone like this in the game.

I recognized the style of the title and submission formatting, so I did remember you. Great to see you made an account! If you ever do make that rewrite or write any shadamy stories, I’ll gladly reblog them from your blog. Just let me know!

Honestly? I’ve been considering doing a shadamy-centric rewrite of SA2 myself, but it’d be much different. In it, Sonic either never existed or died sometime before the events of SA2, and a more mature, possibly older Amy stepped up as the leader and goes on adventures with Tails and Knuckles. It’d be named “Amy Adventure 2” in reference to that one SA2 mod that replaces all the playable characters with Amy. I don’t know if I’ll ever get around to it or how I’d format it, but it’s a fun idea. I’ve got a bunch of other things to take care of first, though!

Are the ArchieSonic comics actually an 80's/90's syndicated cartoon? Episode 64-65: TwoMulti-part finale (part 5: Espio the Chameleon)

Welcome back to my look at the ArchieSonic comic series, and how it shared a lot of the same story tropes as a typical ‘80s or ‘90s syndicated cartoon! Today I’m continuing my look at the various finales that were seen throughout the life of the ArchieSonic series, and same as last time, this will cover the final three issues of Knuckles the Echidna: #30 - 32. While Knuckles was busy trying to fend off a bloodthirsty hunter and a very, very angry gorilla, Espio the Chameleon had his own problems. He was the star of the B-stories of these final three issues: Hiding in Plain Sight, The Best of Friends, and The Worst of Enemies.

The story began with Julie-Su on horseback (or streaking pasha-back, whatever), searching for Knuckles. She hadn’t been able to find him, but did come across Espio, Mighty, and newcomer Ray the Flying Squirrel, who was moving to the Floating Island to live with Mighty after being rescued from an alternate dimension. Espio didn’t really have anything better to do so he offered to help Julie-Su look for Knuckles. After awhile Espio spotted something that Julie-Su didn’t, and had her pull over.

It was another chameleon named Barney, who had been injured and had been camouflaging himself for protection. Barney lost consciousness after warning Espio that he’d been attacked by something shiny and hard, and Julie-Su loaded him up on her pasha and took him to get medical attention.

With the outsiders gone, Espio prompted the other camouflaged chameleons to uncloak. One of them, Liza, offered to show Espio what had happened, which led to a nasty surprise:

That’s right, that guy. Who’s suddenly Espio’s best friend. Some of you may be asking, “Er, who is this guy again?” and that’s a fair question. Valdez was still something of a mystery back then too, quite honestly. He was introduced in the Sonic comics rather than the Knuckles ones, when Geoffrey St. John had been tasked with putting together a new secret service team to serve the King.

Valdez, a character who had never before been seen in the series, was the first person that Geoffrey recruited. All we found out about him was that he had been living on the Floating Island, he’d had some kind of unknown history with Geoffrey, and Espio had apparently warned him that Geoffrey was trouble.

We then got to see him go through several training missions with the rest of the recruits until the King authorised them all for active service. Their first mission was to go to the Floating Island and try to find out what had happened to Queen Alicia ten years prior.

They eventually uncovered the truth that both she and the never-before mentioned Prince Elias were both still alive, although the Queen was in a cryogenic coma in the medlab in Haven, where the shady Brotherhood of Guardians operated from. They actually discovered Haven about the same time as Knuckles, who was busy uncovering a sleeper agent within the Brotherhood when he bumped into them.

After that Valdez and the rest of the secret service were tasked with missions such as investigating the breakout at the Devil’s Gulag, rescuing Nate Morgan from the villains who had escaped that prison, and evacuating Mobotropolis when Robo-Robotnik (later known as Eggman) attacked the city. During that attack Valdez had told the rest of the team to get the people to safety while he held off Robotnik’s forces, and had vanished after that.

Later in the Girls Rule Super Special Hershey infiltrated Robotropolis to try and find out what had happened to Valdez, only to discover that he had been roboticised.

Is it though, Hershey? Plenty of robians had been able to get their free will back over the last couple of years, and while they were still stuck in a metallic body at least mentally they were themselves again. But no, death is better than that, whatever you say.

Anyway, back to the present with Espio meeting Mecha-Valdez. This second part of the story is the worst one, because it’s mostly one long exposition dump to remind people who this guy was. It also didn’t help that the dialogue was pretty terrible.

Ken Penders thinks this is how people talk. This is not how people talk. And it is definitely not how teenagers talk. Anyway, Valdez had been injured and captured during the invasion of Mobotropolis and Eggman had taken particular interest in him, as he wanted an agent who knew their way around the Floating Island. So he roboticised him and reprogrammed him to have a bit more purpose than the average robot slave.

This was an interesting time in the series when it came to roboticisation. For the most part up until this point, victims of the roboticiser had been just mindless drones who obeyed basic orders. But around this time we started to see some robots such as Valdez and Uncle Chuck that had been programmed to have a semblance of their old personalities and memories. Just, you know. Evil.

So anyway, Valdez wanted the island’s Chaos Emerald, and Espio was reluctant to cooperate.

So Valdez ordered that Liza be roboticised and punched Espio in the face when he tried to intervene.

Valdez then threatened to do the same to all the other captured chameleons unless Espio gave up all the info he had on Knuckles. Espio agreed on the condition that Valdez free everyone else, but Valdez was not willing to give up his hostages and pointed out that Espio wasn’t exactly in the best position to bargain.

So Espio led the robots to, coincidentally, the same place that Knuckles had been fighting for his life in that same issue - Hydro City. And just like Knuckles, he tried to lure his opponent into a trap. The only difference is that his trap actually worked. Espio was able to tackle Valdez into the water and… drown him, I guess?

I’m pretty sure robots don’t need to breathe underwater, but as Kenny P. didn’t bother to show us what actually happened to him, let’s just assume that he thought robots can drown. Espio was then able to free the other chameleons by shooting the one remaining Swatbot guarding them.

Maybe Shadow the Hedgehog’s game should have been about Espio instead.

Awww yeah, cool guys don’t look at explosions. 

The last three issues of Knuckles the Echidna, while far from the worst material that Ken Penders has ever written, are nonetheless a bit of a slog to get through. I’ve already gone over why I don’t like King of the Hill, and this Espio story wasn’t good either. Penders was trying to create this great dramatic moment with Espio’s best friend being turned to the forces of evil, but considering that Espio and Valdez had never been seen interacting in the comics before this point - not even in the issues of Knuckles that Valdez had a significant role in - it just felt hollow. Penders didn’t even bother giving us a flashback showing Espio and Valdez together or anything, not even during the exposition dump that made up 40% of part 2. We were just told that they were best friends and were supposed to accept that. In fact, the only other time we got to see Espio and Valdez together was over a decade later, when Ian Flynn had taken over the series and decided to develop Espio's backstory.

It comes back to what I have said in the past about Penders not using the Chaotix well in the majority of the series, pushing them to the background in favour of Knuckles’ various clones grandfathers. The few times the Chaotix showed up during the Knuckles series they were usually taken captive or guarding the island while Knuckles was away doing more interesting stuff.

Even when they had a three-issue arc named after them, they spent a good portion of it high on Lemon Sundrop Dandelion while Julie-Su and Constable Remington became the focus of the story instead. And Charmy was written out of the series to go be the Bee Prince after some gory panels showing him in surgery. Ick.

And so it was that the Knuckles series ended with Espio walking away from a cool explosion, and the Archie team had to scramble and change their plans now that the book had been cancelled. The Sonic Adventure adaptation was about to kick off at the time Knuckles the Echidna was cancelled, and it had originally been intended to be a massive crossover taking place in both the Sonic and Knuckles books as well as a Sonic Super Special. Knuckles’ segments were instead moved to be the B-stories of the Sonic issues.

Oh Tikal, what did those evil artists do to you? :(

Whether or not those stories were cut down to allow for the reduced page count or they were just broken up across more issues than originally planned, I don’t know. But figuring this whole thing out must have been a logistical nightmare for the Archie team, especially since SEGA certainly weren’t helping. As I recall, the legend is that the ArchieSonic team had to get the game’s story from cover artist Patrick Spaziante, who imported a Japanese Dreamcast and copy of Sonic Adventure. Big oof.

While the finale of the Knuckles comics were pretty bad, things could always be worse. And next time I’m going to look at an instance of that worse when I cover Naugus Games, the finale of the Sonic Super Special quarterly comics! Yaaaaaaay!

I have some Sonic OCs and I'm going to talk about them, since they're going to show up in October when I start posting my Inktober 2022 stuff alongside my new Sonictober 2023 stuff.

Introducing the Sanctuary Trio! They all come from different timelines, but they still end up meeting. Here's some older art of them:

Backstories under the cut.

First up is Aurora Hope! She hails from 400 years in the future, long after the Golden Age of Heroes. The world has fallen to ruin and most people with powers are the ones that run the gangs. A group of well meaning scientists decide to collect 10 orphans and genetically enhance them, with the intent of giving them the mission of fixing the world. However, things go wrong when a gang invades the scientists' safehouse, killing most of the project orphans and kidnapping Auroa. She spends years in captivity with Cyrus, a descendant of Tails who was also captured. Eventually they escape, but that's when the timeline shenanigans start.

Aurora is hot headed and quick tempered. She's very action oriented and passionate. If you are her friend, she will care about you very deeply. She will make sure you're included, and will care about what is important to you.

Next up is Shade the Shadow Android! Shade is one of the many Shadow Androids created by Dr. Eggman, only in this timeline, he decides to start a war with them. Shade is sent in a squad to go steal the Master Emerald, but Knuckles catches on pretty quickly and starts to fight. Just as Shade's fingers graze the emerald, Knuckles chucks him off the island. But it's that small moment of contact that changes everything. Energy courses through him. He gains a SOUL. Filled with life for the first time, Shade wants to explore the wonders of the world. But, as I said before, there's a war going on. The naive Shade walks right into a town and is immediately captured. He spends the rest of the war in prison, and even after it ends in Eggman’s defeat, he still isn't allowed to go free. Eventually, Shade is sold off to a tech expert who has taken an interest in him. However, a remnant group of Eggman supporters tries to steal him in the transfer. That's when Shade gets wrapped up in timeline shenanigans and meets Aurora!

Shade is a calm, kind, little boy with a big heart. He's easy to talk to and great at giving advice. Shade adores animals. He seems to have a real connection to them. He doesn't usually get angry at all, but you know it's serious if he does. He's actually a bit protective of Aurora. The two of them actually end up dating eventually. :D

Finally is Nexus the Unlimited! You may be able to guess based on his design that he's actually an alternate timeline Sonic! This Sonic was born with a lot of Chaos Powers and was bullied because of it. This eventually pushed him to the breaking point. He changed his name to Nexus and swore to change the world. However, Nexus ended up going about things all the wrong way, and walking down the path of total domination. Before long, the entire world was locked in a war: The Nexus Empire vs the Resistance. Everything ended catastrophically when Nexus and Shadow met on the battlefield. Using the Chaos Emeralds, Sol Emeralds, Master Emerald, and Phantom Ruby, they obtained ridiculous Super Forms. The clash resulted in the entire timeline collapsing. The fight continued until Shadow was killed. Eventually, Nexus ended up losing his memory and coming into contact with Shade and Aurora. The three are now best friends and have set out on a journey to help Nexus get his memories back. But we know what happened, so the question is: will Nexus go back to being evil when he gets his memories back, or will he stay good?

Before his amnesia, Nexus is cold, calculating, and strategic. He can loosen up, but that's a rare occasion. Because of an actual broken heart, Nexus finds it difficult to hold back his negative emotions. As a result, they escape his body in the form of pitch black monsters. He has complete control over them, but they leave no emotions inside him, causing him to become empty . . . and a little bit insane.

After his amnesia, Nexus is a lot closer to Sonic in his personality. He's pretty calm and laid back and enjoys a good book and hanging out with his friends. He likes to joke with friends and have fun. He also worries a lot and doesn't want to worry his friends. As a result, he often tries to go it alone. He can get kinda emotional if pushed to his limit.

Convoluted title I know but this one is going to be pretty jumbled up as it’s just an idea I’ve thought off and wanna see if anyone does anything with it.

You know how Amy has the rings similar to Shadows inhibitors, hers are probably weights whilst shadows are inhibitor rings, I’m not sure if this has been mentioned or something but I think this idea could be cool, though it would also deviate from the original story of SA2 quite a bit, let me explain.

My idea is that with Amy’s modern design for SA1 and SA2, her outfit would be the exact same but without the rings on her wrists (maybe replace them with the bands she has on her riders design).

Instead she doesn’t get the rings until the end of SA2 when sonic returns to the ark after him and shadow fought the final hazard. Obviously the story would have to get reworked slightly with Shadow and Amy possibly having a few more scenes together and give Amy her own character arc, she still doesn’t fully believe in herself as she isn’t treated as an equal. (because let’s be honest the early 3D days Amy was ignored and not taken seriously by almost everyone in CD, SA1 and SA2, including Sonic).

One way to make Amy more important to the story of SA2 is to have her get to the ark much quicker so there could be an extra scene or two with her and Shadow. (It doesn’t even have to be shipping stuff but Shadow having flashbacks of Maria through Amy’s words similar to the how Amy helps Shadow remember Maria’s final words in SA2)

A way I think would work best to get Amy on the Space Colony Ark quicker is during prison island, instead of Rouge being trapped fighting the R-1/A Flying Dog she fights Amy instead.

The way this would occur is that when Amy would free sonic, he would tell her he needs to find that faker and make him pay, then runs off instantly, leaving Amy behind. In the hero story, after the stage metal harbor there would be a cutscene with Amy walking around, saying that she’s lost and she’d get annoyed and say out loud

“I would sacrifice anything for everyone to take me more seriously, even that fake hedgehog”

(Remember this)

(Also this might seem out of character for but at this point she‘s like 13? I’m not sure but she’s angry and this is something someone her age would say. Keep in mind she only sees Shadow as a Sonic copy, thinks he’s a Villain so she doesn’t really care about like, same with her and metal sonic.)

This part would be in the dark story Playthrough.

Then she runs into Rouge, Amy remembers she was with Eggman and fights her, trying to get answers however they both get locked in the room like Rouge did in SA2. The story would continue as normal with shadow showing up and surprisingly, he’d save both of them without hesitation, teleporting to the ark just before prison island blows up.

A scene would take place right after with Amy looking confused and relieved however Rouge instantly begins questioning why he saved them, Shadow says it would’ve been more hassle for him to get the emeralds off Rouge in a few seconds but Rouge counters by saying that’s a fair point but he could’ve just left her behind (pointing to amy) however he actively ran over to her and saved her too. He just walks off saying she talks too much however amy runs grabs his hand and says.

“Thank you”

Shadow just stares back for a second and says “it won’t happen again…” then walks off. (This would purely be a dark story cutscene)

To me this makes more sense as she doesn’t really do much in the story other than help shadow, maybe even have sonic and tails think she died (and in the hero story, actually have the player think she’s dead for most of the story) and have sonic realise that he should’ve treated her much kinder and as an equal and not someone who holds them back. This could even make sonic wanna go after shadow even more as he thinks that him and eggman killed her, to further set up the rivalry his shadow but that part is just me throwing ideas around for a potential SA2 rewrite I’m thinking of doing. This new concept also won’t be a typical “damsel in distress” as it’s flipped on its head since Shadow actually saved her by “kidnapping” her.

Let’s say in this hypothetical rewrite Shadow starts off like the others, he doesn’t take Amy seriously at all similar to everyone else as he’s only known her as “sonic’s fangirl” but Amy begins to learn that there’s something more to shadow, he doesn’t just want to conquer the earth like eggman, he wants revenge on everyone on earth (maybe he’d say something like “they took everything I cared about away from me” when she’d ask him why he’s doing this, I dunno) and she’d grow to understand him.

Through this, shadow would learn to treat Amy as an equal as she says she’s fed up of not being taken seriously by anyone so shadow does just that, he actually begins to listen to her closely. Through shadow treating her as an equal and talking to her, he begins to realise she’s making valid points about how no-one deserves to be killed but he doesn’t falter in his mission however she’s slowly chipping away at Shadows exterior as he acts slightly kinder to both her and Rouge.

Maybe even Rouge could get some development from Amy too with Rouge listening in on one of their convocations and amy says that

“I try to be kind to everyone, even though sonic doesn’t treat me as an equal…I know being kind works because you’ve treated me as an equal because of it…”

This causes Rouge to hold some of the master emerald shards and think…She’s used to being around selfish people so that’s all she knows but being kind…She’s never tried that.

(this could explain why Rouge gives the master emerald pieces to Knuckles after he saves her because she’s learning to be kind as well)

At the end this, all this buildup and the extra scenes would would make it more believable for Shadow to be convinced by Amy and she will also learn a lesson here, correct me if I’m wrong but shadow would be the first person to treat her as an equal. The way shadow would truly treat her as an equal is by actually thanking her, at the risk of sounding too cliché he would tell her.

“Thank you…you’re worth much more than you think, Amy Rose”

This coming from the ultimate life form himself would mean something, at least to Amy.

After that he says

“I need to keep my promise to Maria…and to you” then he runs off.

When Shadow appears to fight the Biolizard, Knuckles would ask why he suddenly changed sides, he could say something like

“That friend of yours, Amy Rose, you should all thank her…”

With sonic responding with a in a guilty tone

“Yeah…I know that now…”

And the same thing would happen, Super Sonic and Super Shadow would fight the Final Hazard and using the chaos emeralds to become super for the first time along with taking off his inhibitor rings would take its toll on shadow and cause him to fall to earth…only leaving his inhibitor rings remaining like in the original story.

The final scene of this version of SA2 would have Sonic returning aboard the ark without Shadow, he has a smile but it looks sad most of them would congratulate Sonic but Rouge would ask where’s Shadow?

Sonic would close his eyes and let out a shaky breath, saying that he couldn’t have won without Shadow…

(I do recommend that this part is best experienced whilst listening to SA2s “the last scene” OST on loop whilst reading this part for extra emotional kicks, trust me it makes a difference. this all is purely emotional but in a good way so you have been warned.)

(Each “ending scene” between the rivals would take place in this order)

Firstly a unique one, amy and rouges reaction to shadow death.

Sonic walks over to Rouge and Amy who are standing at the centre of the room, giving them Shadows inhibitor rings and says

“This is all I could get before I saw him fall to earth…”

He’d give one to both of them and say he’s sorry. Rouge would look away and walk off, holding her tears in however Amy’s eyes widen…like she’s realising something. The blue hedgehog would look at amy and speak.

“I’m sorry…I never took you seriously, even after you’d stop chasing me…I promise to listen to you like I do with Tails, Knuckles and even Eggman…”

He puts a hand on her shoulder to comfort her but she drops shadows ring and she slaps sonics hand away and shakily whispers…

“No…”

This confuses everyone but this time she shouts...tears streaming from her eyes

“I did this to him…I don’t deserve any of your respect… I sent him to his death, he wanted to help because I begged him too. I killed him”

“I even said I would sacrifice anything for all of you to take me seriously, even him and…it feels like I did! It feels like I sent him to his death just to get you guys to listen to me! It’s all my fault!”

With that she runs off, running past everyone, sonic and tails would try to chase after her however surprisingly Rouge tells them to leave her, that she’ll talk to Amy.

The second “ending” scene would take place and it would be another unique one.

Rouge would find her where the convocation between Shadow and Amy took place about how she knows being kind pays off because shadow begun to treat her as an equal. She’s crying and Rouge walks over to her and just watches, unsure of what to do however Amy wipes her tears and says she can’t be weak…

Rouge nods her head and helps her up however Amy asks Rouge something…

“S-Shadows inhibitor rings… could I have them?”

Rouge at first looks confused but then after smiles and nods her head, giving them to her.

The final scene between Tails and Eggman would play.

Eggman and Tails look ahead at the stars…The fox is unsure on how to feel, they won but it feels like they lost…surprisingly Dr Eggman speaks up in a tone Tails has never heard before.

“As a child, I looked up to my grandfather because of all the great things he accomplished in his life. He was my hero, and I wanted to be a great scientist like him. But... did he really mean to destroy us? To destroy Me?”

Doctor Eggman, the most renowned genius in the world sounds so defeated, even cracking at one point, even after Tails and Sonic have stopped him time and time again, the mad Doctor has always bounced back…but now…he sounds so defeated.

Much to the doctors surprise, Tails speaks up, attempting to comfort him.

“I’m…Im not sure but one thing I know, he was tipped over the Edge, pushed to a limit that no person should ever have to endure, he lost everything and took it out on everyone…he had the right to be mad but he didn’t have the right to destroy everything… I…I don’t know what to say Eg-“

Tails stops himself

“Ivo Robotnik, I’m sorry you had to go through that, I can’t imagine what it must feel like.”

The Doctor looks down and wipes his glasses clean…

“T-Thanks… I’m going to be shutting down the Space Colony Ark in 30 minutes, that’s all the time everyone has up here, then it’s never to be set foot on again”

With that, the Doctor walks off, tails looks back to see Sonic look at Ivo Robotnik. They seem to stare at each other, almost as if they’re having a mutual understanding through their sight alone but the Doctor kneels down and sonic does something unexpected, he surprisingly hugs the Doctor, he can’t hear what they’re saying but Tails figures it’s private…but he could’ve sworn he saw the Doctor wipe his eyes…

The scene between Rouge and Sonic would play after that

Rouge walks over to the blue blur and speaks.

“I calmed Amy down…I don’t know when she’ll feel better, could you and the others…be there for her? Help her get over her grief?”

Sonic looks at the bat and slowly nods…

“I will, I promise. Me, Tails and even Knuckles will help her, or at least try as much as we can… Again I’m sorry about Shadow”

Rouge looks at him and shakes her head.

“You tried your best…in the end that’s all that matters. But do you think…that the doctor only creates him for revenge? Or something more?”

She questions with sonic looking at the planet below.

“I’m not sure…but what in do know is that he was a brave and heroic hedgehog who sacrificed his life to save everyone, that’s who he was.”

Rouge nods her head and walks away.

The scene between Knuckles and Rouge would play.

Rouge is standing, looking out to the coldness of space, uncomfortably with her Arms crossed and biting her lip, trying desperately to hold back her tears, she may not have known shadow for long or as personally as Amy did…but it still doesn’t change anything, right now all she feels is the coldness surrounding her.

“Got any plans”

A gruff but soothing and kind voice asks, Rouge slowly turns around to see the Echidna looking at her with…worry? Surely that can’t be right, the same Echidna who crashed the shuttle the heroes used to get here…

“Y-yeah, I think I’m going to give up this line of work, too much work for too little pay, plus-“

She looks at Knuckles’ reflection in the window

“I’ve got something better than jewels in mind…”

She says with a crack in her voice, she hopes that the Echidna didn’t pick up on it, that’s he’s as dimwitted as everyone thinks he is but obviously he catches on…

“Hey…are you okay?”

“Y-yeah…I’m just looking down below. It’s beautiful, don’t you think?”

She says, desperately trying to steer the conversation away from current events.

Knuckles looks down at earth and grunts…

“It was…but after today…I can’t look at anything the same way again”

He pulls out the master emerald which has shrunken down.

“Heh, Tikal helped me learn to do this, makes it much more easier to carry around, want to hold it? I know you love jewels…”

Rouge looks at him wide eyed…why had he offered to let her hold the master emerald? Surely he’d know she could easily run off with it, Knuckles opens up her hand with his own and gives it to her, letting her hold it.

“I-I think it might make you feel at least a little bit better…”

That’s when it clicks in her head…he’s trying to comfort her, in his own little odd way, he’s trying to comfort her, make her feel better, sadly at the realisation of this, here eyes begin to water up, her vision getting blurry and the facade breaks, she slowly begins to let the tears fall from her eyes…

She drops the master emerald on the floor and cries into knuckles’ shoulder, hugging him as hard as she can, expecting him to push her away or shout at her that she dropped the master emerald but…that’s not what happens, he holds her tightly and tells her.

“Don’t worry…It’s alright to cry, he was your friend”

And finally the scene between sonic and Amy would place but slightly altered.

Here it is…

Planet Earth, such a beautiful and disturbing place, after this day, after what he’s heard and seen happen, he can’t look at it the same way again, what anyone can be capable off if they are pushed enough to the edge…

Sonic looks ahead at Earth, the stars and and feels…guilty…he was there, he saw Shadow fall however he lied to everyone…

After the final chaos control on the Space Colony Ark which retuned it to its normal position in space, no longer heading towards earth, Super Sonic looked around and saw two Rings floating, he picked them up and flew over to where he saw shadow, no longer in his Super form, very slowly moving away from the ark and towards earth.

Suoer Sonic quickly flew over to shadow however what happened…was heartbreaking.

Sonic would’ve been able to catch the ultimate Lifeform, in fact he should’ve but Shadow…Shadow pushed him away, he said that he doesn’t deserve to live after what he’s done, he broke Maria’s promise, hurt so many people and almost killed everyone. Sonic told him that he deserves a second chance to make them happy but Shadow smiled…

“Sonic…it’s funny you know, I think in another time, we could’ve been friends, maybe if things turned out differently we would be…but we’re both running out of energy, my super form has already run out and yours… it’s going to run out anytime now. So this is my final gift to you…goodbye, Sonic The Hedgehog.”

“SHADOW! NO!”

Shadow ended up using his remaining energy to use chaos control on sonic to teleport him back to the Ark, which right after it happened, Sonic’s Super form ran out…

From the observation deck Tails told sonic that Eggman was going to shut down the Space colony ark in 30 minutes which was around 20 minutes ago so the teleporters from earth and the Ark wouldn’t work, Sonic said he’s gonna catch up with tails nodding and walking off, leaving Sonic alone in the observation deck…

“The Ultimate Life form…Shadow The Hedgehog”

Just as he goes to walk away he sees Amy walk over into the observation deck, her eyes are puffed from crying but he can tell she’s trying to be strong, he smiles and walks over to her.

“I’m…Im so sorry Amy…I don’t know how close you got with Shadow, but I couldn’t save him… I appreciate you easing off on the romance but I shouldn’t have just ignored you when you needed my help…”

“I forgive you”

Amy replies with a smile, a sad smile but a smile nonetheless.

“People make mistakes, we’ve seen that today…but we also know that we can change for the better…so here’s to a better tomorrow Sonic.”

Amy extends her arm for a handshake with Sonic smiles and accepts.

“Here’s to a better tomorrow”

However he looks down at her wrist and sees something…new.

“Hey…are those?

Amy looks at her wrist and let’s put another smile, but this time it’s not a sad one…

“Yeah…these were his, I asked Rouge if I could have them, she said yes. Even when Eggman saw me wear them I could’ve sworn I saw a genuine smile from him. I think they look great but I also want to remember him like I remember you.

As a hero, someone I admire and want to be like.”

Sonic closes his eyes smiles.

“Me and you both Amy…me and you both”

Amy asks if he’s ready to leave and sonic Smiles.

“Yeah, let’s go back to the planet as cool and blue as me…”

They leave the room and the lights turn off but sonic looks back one last time.

Submission #74: Yet another Shadamy Scene Rewrite

I think it’s my best Shadamy piece I’ve done, it’s a very simple SA2 (can you tell it’s my favourite sonic story/game yet?)scene rewrite based on shadow and Amy’s first encounter on prison island.

Though I kinda wish I called the title of my first submission “yet a take on Shadamy” to fit in line with my “yet _____ Shadamy _____”

I wanted those final scenes to pull at the heart strings, sure it’s possibly too emotional for a Sonic story but I really don’t care, all of those scenes were based on experiences in my life so I tried to write the characters as “realistic” as I possibly could. I even snuck in some Knuxouge because I think it’s the only sonic ship that should be canon in the games, it makes the most sense to me. I also really hope I didn’t come off as bashing Sonic, that really wasn’t my intention, I really like Sonic as a character but I think this was the most realistic character development I could’ve given him. Rouge was definitely more emotional here but I think that makes sense, I didn’t even think of knuckles consoling her until a bit after so I promise it wasn’t just for a knuxouge moment. I couldn’t really do much with Tails, best I could do is have him sympathise with Eggman and referring to him as “Ivo Robotnik” was my was of showing that tails truly cared about Eggman in that moment. Also Sonic hugging Eggman might be slightly out of character but everyone is at their emotional limit here, including Eggman himself was hurt here, he found out the man he admired, his grandfather didn’t just not care about him but was willing to kill him, if felt personal to him and sonic saw that…

What I tried to do was not to create a Shadamy story (even though it certainly comes across as such because even though I love Shadamy, I don’t want any relationships in any main sonic games, hint at them sure but not proper relationships). Instead I tried to create a story with the basis of Sonic adventure 2 (my favourite sonic story) and improve certain aspects.

It just so happened that in my eyes, giving Amy a proper role would do exactly that and filling in details such as making it even more believable that Shadow would turn good at the end, giving a proper character arc to Amy and improving on Rouge’s and giving Sonic a character Arc with both realising that people can change for the better because knuckles wasn’t evil in 3&K, he was tricked. Sonic would also learn to take Amy more seriously.

Side note but I’ve always head people say that sonic has always been a flat character however I disagree, I think that became the case after SA2 because in that game, he learned that not everyone is purely good or bad, he learned that people will do bad things for good reasons and good things for bad reasons.

Another detail this adds is making it way more believable for Sonic to go back to Eggman when he takes Amy hostage because in SA2, sonic and tails just leave amy wondering around, both creating a liability and ignoring their friend however up to this point (in the hero story), Sonic, Tails and eventually Knuckles thought Amy had died on Prison Island but hearing her alive and being taken hostage would make it a good twist from a story standpoint along with making it WAY more believable that Sonic would rush back to Eggman. (even though tails was there).

Of course I had to add a scene between sonic and shadow, making it make more sense as to why shadow fell to earth and sonic couldn’t save him, I wanted to add shadow saying that they could’ve been friends in another time because that WAS true at one point, in heroes and 06 they respected each other and were friends with a slightly rivalry. In shadow the hedgehog, minus all the “evil” paths (which I don’t seem as canon) shadow and sonic are usually on good terms. Only in Boom is where there was an active distaste between the two.

Anyway that’s enough of me rambling. I originally wasn’t going to write some scenes and just skim through them like I have done with others but the ones near the end were too important for me to just simply skip. I’ve been writing this for about close to 3 hours now on my phone and I still have a few things to say but I’m satisfied with what I’ve written for now.

I’m going to be honest but this is the most emotional piece of work I’ve ever written, (coming from a guy who doesn’t think these characters beyond a few should be all “lovey-dovey” but speak through their actions and what they’re willing so do to make friend/partner happy) like I did with knuckles here.

Anyway I’m not going to link my AO3 here because my work isn’t nearly as emotional, it doesn’t have much shadamy and I also don’t wanna self promote here as well but if I write a SA2 rewrite with this concept, if I’m allowed to link it I will however it won’t be for a while as uni is killing me.

Her TARDIS was on lockdown/Grounded on Earth until she turned 18 for obvious reasons. If, for any reason, I play her before that point, she's going to have to hitch a ride. ;) - After grades began to be a problem in high school.

Character Summary

Rowyn is the daughter of the Doctor, Capt. Jack, and River Song from a time when all three were in the Tardis at the same time. There is also speculation that she is literally a child of the Tardis itself. She grew up mostly on 21st century Earth, bouncing between homes as a foster child and of course slipping through time and hopping onto the Tardis every chance she got. She has a chip in the back of her neck with her identity and banking information as set up by River in the future so that her daughter would never be completely helpless, as well as it being a tracker that all three of her parents can use to find her if they need to. The only reason no one parent is raising her is because of their unique lifestyles. She was technically born in a certain prison, and so is noted in the records of the 52nd century.

She is still on her original appearance, so is very, very young by Time Lord standards. In human terms, she is at least 18 years of age when encountered and just finally free of the foster care system.

She has a knack for finding herself in strange situations and is attracted to trouble of a Multidimensional and Multiple Perspective nature, which really isn't a surprise. She has traveled through time and space, although on a limited basis with the Doctor, and occasionally also hitched rides with the Master. The only thing they can both agree on is that they aren't going to let anything happen to her if they can help it. For some reason, the Master seems fond of her. She has had limited interactions with Jack and her mother, but she has at least heard of them and knows who they are. It's Jack who set her up with a banking account in the UK so that she'd have money whenever she was in the 21st century, and her mother has her set up for the far future as well, just in case. TARDIS has a protective Big Brother quality to it, unlike the wild insanity of the Doctor's TARDIS. Kinda like the wiser friend who has been on adventures before and wants to protect you, but also is willing to go on them with you and help you learn the ropes. Definitely masculine, unlike the Doctor's TARDIS and is not named SEXY. Thank you.

Her TARDIS is basically on training wheels still with fairy lights strung up in the console room, bright colors, easy to understand signs and a gel based telepathic piloting station. There is a huge star chart that can be projected onto the walls along with date information. It has large comfy seating with seat belts and grab bars as well as slightly padded flooring in case of falls. The exterior is stuck on a red UK phone booth design for the moment. But it will eventually look like the traditional police box had a love child with a UK red phone booth instead.

Sonic Vs the Concept of Entropy

Hello faithful followers. I think some of you might even read these! Time for another one in the losely defined series where I take my musing from dms and the like and make them into a more readable form for everyone.

Last "Episode" was my trans story for the trans day of visibility.

This time, sandwhiching the trans one between two layers of sonic, we're gonna be talking about that hedgehog today. I told myself i'd clear my backlog of things I was supposed to post today, so here we are. Be aware of obvious spoilers for the entire game and dlc, and with that in mind: Once again we start our story anew.

To begin we need to resummarize Sonic Frontier's overall plot. It's sorta important if we're going to view the plot right? This is from memory so some mistakes inbound (The original draft said you find tails on the first island. yikes.)

Sonic wakes up on a mysterious island after managing to escape some cyber space area. A voice in his head guides him onward. He has two goals: fight the Titans like the voice said to and help his friends You find Amy first locked in a strange prison which is not pleasant to the touch. She will not react. When you eventually free her some dark energy from it flies into sonic. This is known as cyber corruption.

So here's begins the gameplay loop: find your friend, free them, spend some time helping them work through their insecurities and problems, and then get the emeralds to fight each islands Titan By number three sonic is in some serious pain from so the corruption he took on but he refuses to stop. Eventually he's forced to as he attempts to climb these huge pillars under the guidance of the voice His friends sacrifice themselves (temporarily) to stabilize him so he can finish what needs done.

This is the story of frontiers. But it's not the whole story of frontier. There's a character we haven't mentioned. The island.

This place is in absolute ruins but the technology there is far superior to anything else in sonics world. Even eggman thinks it's well beyond him. So why aren't they here now? How did they go out? On the second island there's cannons. Was it a war?? Is there a second even more powerful group. Spoilers the answer is no but we'll get there. Speaking of egghead, he was also trapped in cyber space while investigating the island. He even created something using it. An advanced entity named sage. She's child like but seems to have the secrets to the island. She keeps warning eggman of some looming catastrophe. She's also hostile to sonic but never directly attacks him. She doesn't believe he's important until he starts to prove himself again and again during said gameplay loop With that we're at the point where we left off and this all starts to make sense. An entity we still doing know the name of attacked the ancients a long time ago. They managed to seal it in cyber space but it's trying to get out. The Titans were how they fought it, and how they sealed it away with both their souls and their lives. This was also the thing guiding sonic all along.

Sonic won't stand for this deception of course. A temporary truce, sage even tells them about the thing where they can stabilize sonic, and the group agrees to a plan. Get that last secret Titan and use it and super sonic to fight whatever it is the ancients put away.

Now we can talk about our decieptful true antagonist. We can talk about the end.

The end literally doesn't look like much. It's a big purple moon?? And if I had a nickel for every time the moon was a final boss… Well nevermind. The important thing here is it's dialogue. The sole reason this rant exists So. Here it is. I recommend listening to the whole thing. But I'll try to go over it in part. The writing is probably better then anything I've ever wrote. But it won't stay that way with any luck.

Here I must admit i'm cheating a little. The scientific theory of it which is a little complicated but basically systems form around chaos until they reach a stable point. Order from chaos. Check. a friend pointed out chaos is important in sonic, and they're right. "Chaos is power enriched by the heart" after all. This could be entropy stands in oposition of that, being a creation of order.

However the second version i've heard is the idea of a universal drift. As the universe spreads out forever, stars and planets get pushed further and further apart. This is also entropy, and more specifically what I had in mind. This also fits the infinite part and how it destroys things This was what the ancients couldn't fight without destroying themselves. A universal concept so far beyond us all. They gave those lives in an attempt to chain it

It is also the cause of cyber corruption and the reason sonics friends had to give themselves for him. Unity wins again and the past resembles the future. The message is clear: keep fighting no matter what

But the message wasn't complete. Sonic team wasn't done and we still need to talk about the alternate ending, and two pretty good songs

Don't be afraid, I will be with you.

I had wanted to wait until I played this expansion in case new information contradicted me. I formed this theory entirely based on the main ending. Thankfully It actually helped me make sense of some holes in my earlier logic.

The short of it is the come up with a separate plan. Sonics friends come out but take on some of his cyber corruption. They go search for the emeralds while sonic instead goes through grueling training. Climbing huge towers only to meet with the original pilots of each titan. They're kinda pissed and force sonic to prove his skill and dedication so they can make sure he will carry in the values they hold the dearest. Finally after a really difficult one sonic is ready to turn cyber corruption into power. This well be the edge he needs. The end re appears but there's no new dialogue from it so we don't need to talk about that. (disapointingly) Of note is everything goes better overall this time with everyone working and struggling together and I want to examine WHY. Time for the music. We're gonna look at the lyrics for", I'm here" which is associated with the 4th Titan, Supreme. A version of this also plays during the fight in this dlc, which is the end possessing Supreme and therefore manipulating them in a more dirrect way then with sonic.

I like this version better. The lyrics are the exact same. Go listen to the refrain version after you finish this read.

leave the life you knew before. See..a new world worth fighting for. Find the truth of who I'm meant to become. Another path, I must now walk on

This lines up with entropy in a strange way. If we're right and the planets are moving apart, things literally can't stay like they are forever. We'll have to adapt but that doesn't mean it's not going to be

I'm here Reaching far across these new frontiers With my life I fight this fear In my hands I hold the ones I love Walk forward through the cold dawn Always to new horizons(edited)

The cold dawn line is literally too on the nose for this theory but I think my theory is mostly my own rather then text so we'll move on

"With my life I fight this fear" and "in my hands I hold the ones I love" represents both sonics struggle and why he keeps going anyways. We're approaching something we've never seen before. But our love makes it worth it

And to finish my point for me

Once again we'll start our story anew.

Don't be afraid I will be with you.

So that's it. That's what we're meant to do. Entropy will come for us. We can fight against it, sacrifice a lot, and live on. Or we can adapt to it, use it the best we can, and live a new way yet unknown to us. But number one thing we'll need is the strength of each other

The ancients chose the first like sonic and crew did, but in the second ending another way was chosen and that's why things went better in this ending compared to the first (sage is implied to be dead in the original ending) But the second way will be much much harder. It's gonna be a struggle for everyone Following the second ending sonic is filled with a clarity of what he's meant to do now. And so we look at our second song "one way dream"

It could be considered to be a generic motivational song but given it's context I think it adds a lot to all this.

I'm just gonna leave you with the chorus. It says everything i need to.

Boost your spirit off the ground I'm a spark that won't go out We can go much higher now Gravity can't hold us down We're only at the begining of this one way dream.

What can I say? In the face of an existential threat this is how we ignite.

Sonic and the Mysterious Trail Pt. 3

As Sonic the Hedgehog languished in his prison cell, consumed by despair and desperation, a strange idea began to form in his mind. With nothing but time on his hands and a burning desire to escape his nightmares, Sonic turned to the only solution he could think of – making moonshine in his toilet.

Gathering whatever ingredients he could scrounge up, Sonic set to work, his hands moving with practiced precision despite the makeshift nature of his equipment. And soon enough, the cellblock was filled with the pungent aroma of homemade alcohol.

As Sonic took his first sip of the potent concoction, a sense of euphoria washed over him, dulling the edges of his fear and anxiety. But as he drifted off to sleep, the nightmares began.

In his dreams, Sonic found himself surrounded by towering mounds of pubic hair, each strand pulsating with a sinister energy. And at the heart of it all stood Knuckles, his once-friend now transformed into a monstrous figure of hair and flesh.

As Sonic struggled to break free from the nightmarish vision, Amy appeared before him, her voice filled with sorrow as she spoke of divorce. And lurking in the shadows, Shadow taunted him mercilessly, calling him a nerd with a cruel smirk on his face.

But amidst the chaos and despair, Sonic realized that there was one way to escape the torment – he needed the Chaos Emeralds. With their power, he could banish the nightmares and reclaim his sanity.

And so, fueled by determination and desperation, Sonic embarked on a quest to acquire the Chaos Emeralds, his mind haunted by the relentless onslaught of pubic hair and the specter of his shattered relationships.

But as he journeyed through the twisted labyrinth of his own mind, Sonic knew that only by confronting his fears head-on could he hope to emerge victorious and finally find peace once more.

forces headcanons for sonic — primarily focused on his time as a POW and some experiences upon being freed  

sonic’s time on the death egg was very often primarily a torture of boredom — he spent the majority of the time in a tiny cell total solitary confinement.  he awoke in a pitch-black room, handcuffed, remembering only being defeated.  no light, no voices, no room to move or run.  for the first — he doesn’t know how long.  for the first few months? — he was utterly alone, half - convinced he was dead and this was just what death was.  no room to run, no way to escape, nothing, nothing.  he tried to break out, but the walls didn’t give no matter how he threw himself at them.  he halfway considered starving himself, just to see what happened.  yelled his voice hoarse, eventually.  stopped talking at all, eventually.

then, finally, something changed.  sonic doesn’t really remember the details anymore, but there was a screen, there was eggman, asking how sonic was enjoying his little vacation.  it was such a relief just to BE SPOKEN TO BY A PERSON that he almost cried, even if that person was eggman.  eggman let him know that he’d functionally taken over the world, but sonic wasn’t listening, wasn’t processing.  just, oh, i’m still alive.  i’m not totally alone.

the months that followed were — different.  there were still long periods of total darkness and isolation, which were almost more maddening now that he’d gotten a taste of something else, but at least he knew there STILL WAS A WORLD OUTSIDE HIS CELL.  but the quiet was broken, sometimes, either with eggman’s gloating or — by infinite.

sometimes the harm was physical.  infinite took a great deal of pleasure in harming sonic, and it didn’t seem to matter that sonic had little means of escaping or fighting back, weak as he was.  but such wasn’t common.  worse —

the fucking mindgames.  sonic can’t count the number of times he was breaking free, tails or knuckles or even shadow at his side, only to have his friends be captured or killed before his eyes, only for sonic to suddenly ‘wake up’ from the illusion and realize he was back in his cell, that his friend’s blood had disappeared from his hands.  sometimes he’d be in a different part of the death egg, watching amy be tortured as she refused to give up resistance secrets, his own screaming ignored as he threw himself at the glass separating the room he was in and the room she was in — and he’d only realize once the illusion shattered that he had no memories of being brought out of the cell at all.  finding tails attempting to break out some other prisoners just in time for tails to be killed, or —— there were visions of that sort.  they were miserable, and sonic still has nightmares about them.  but the worst of it wasn’t that.

sonic knew by now that infinite could create copies of past enemies.  sometimes, infinite would show him visions of the battlefield, back on earth — that of a sick copy of sonic destroying towns, homes, PEOPLE.  ending lives.  towards the end of his time in captivity, he watched himself kill his friends, many of whom refused or hesitated to fight him — and infinite only showed him each of their deaths once, to ensure that sonic couldn’t know if infinite was showing him illusions or if infinite was showing him visions of actual battles.  watching himself do things he’d NEVER DO was horrifying for a variety of reasons, not just because the sight of himself hurting his friends haunted and continues to haunt him.  for a guy who’s all about freedom, autonomy, it felt like a stripping of that — a violation.  NOBODY USES ME.

it wasn’t until he was rescued until he learned that there hadn’t been any sonic-illusion out in the world, and that he hadn’t killed his friends.  in fact, his friends had thought he was dead and gone.

but — the rescue.  he’d only recently been moved to a larger cell, presumably so it would be easier for eggman to show him what he’d done once the world was entirely taken over.  sonic and the rookie hit it off pretty much immediately, in large part because they’re the first friendly face he’s seen in six months of the alternating tortures of total isolation and attempts to break his mind.  while sonic’s assured shortly after that amy and knuckles are alive, at least, he’s also, at this point, half-convinced a number of his friends are dead, so —— here’s someone he hasn’t watch himself kill or heard from eggman that they’ve died.

he’s so, so happy to see his friends again, but it’s — it’s hard, too!  he’s repressing a lot about his time as a POW, which means he ends up pulling away from the people who either inspire honesty in him or remind him of that period.  it’s not that he’s not close to them, but it is noticeable how much easier he falls into step with the rookie, and how much longer it takes for him to settle back into a decent dynamic with his old friends.

in a more physical sense, he’s very physically weak when he gets out.  dude went about six months without the kind of exercise he’s normally getting and without a ton of food.  it takes him a while to get back to his normal physical state, and until that happens he’s depending a lot on the rookie or his other friends to make up the difference.

I made a Valeyard fanfic on AI

The Valeyard was reconstituted from the Eighth Doctor when he used a transmat to leave Thellian. (AUDIO: Fugitive in Time, The War Valeyard) He was set to work by the Sixth Tamasan to fight in the Last Great Time War. He won many battles for the Time Lords by not hesitating to sacrifice planets when necessary, as the Doctor never would.

Eventually, the Time Lords learned of a weapon on the planet Grahv, that would allow the Daleks to erase the Time Lords from existence so completely, that the Daleks would be the only ones to remember the Time Lords ever existed. The Valeyard was sent to Grahv to use the weapon on the Daleks. He was able to successfully use it, but with the cost of damaging his own memory, along with the deaths of the native Grahvians. The Time Lords, upon discovering this, placed the planet in a time lock, trapping the Valeyard there. With his memory damaged, and the weapon's true nature of being a memory weapon providing illusions of the Grahvians and the Daleks still being alive, the Valeyard repeated his mission over and over again for two centuries. The continuous mental resets caused by the loop damaged the Valeyard's memory of his own identity, leading to him eventually coming to define himself as the Doctor. It was while reverting to this persona that he discovered the Doctor's location.

The Valeyard was able to break free from his mental trap by raising an army of Daleks, but was ultimately defeated by the Eighth Doctor, who made the Valeyard look into a reflection of his own face, causing the Valeyard's wounds to revert to a state that he could regenerate. At the climax of his battle with the Valeyard, the Doctor threw his sonic screwdriver at the Valeyard, breaking it in half, causing him to hold one half of it in his fist and drop the other to the floor. The broken and still operating screwdriver hit the Valeyard in the butt, removing his conscious mind, and temporarily leaving him mute.

The Daleks then encased the Valeyard in stone and buried him on the planet Dalvian, with the intent of being used as an archive for the last eight million years. When the Valeyard's consciousness escaped from his stone prison, he posed as the Eighth Doctor, at least to the Daleks. However, the Valeyard gave the last two of his regenerations away, abandoning the Doctor's world and acting as an imposter for two hundred years.

However, the Daleks eventually started their great war anyway, and the Daleks now remember the Valeyard as the Doctor, due to the fact that he had left many clues to his identity. The Valeyard was briefly freed from his stone prison by Silhouette and freed himself, turning the rest of the stone prison into rubble. But, after hearing the Daleks attacking Dalvian, he returned to confront them, fighting them alongside Silhouette. Unfortunately for the Valeyard, Silhouette's head blew up when she stopped breathing, so the Valeyard had to fight them alone. It was at this time that he uncovered Silhouette's act of betrayal to him, and shattered his memory of Silhouette, attempting to take her body as a trophy. He did not succeed, but did manage to knock the Eleventh Doctor unconscious with his tail. He then set to work to build a new body out of anything he could find, and ended up creating a new suit out of the diamond and ivory of Silhouette. However, he lost this new body during the final battle, and left the area after losing his bearings, believing himself to be on his own new planet.

Later, the Valeyard was finally contacted by the Doctor's companion, Jo Grant. The Doctor had taken Jo on a trip, where they ended up on the surface of Dalvian, where they became trapped by the Daleks, causing Jo to find him. The Daleks had captured Daleks for experimentation by their commander, Dalek Lord Virlan, as they were of a more powerful DNA type. The Daleks brought the Doctor and Jo to the base of Dalek Commander Markov, where Dalek Lord Dalek Emperor Dalek and his chosen leader Dalek General Dalek, had taken over Dalvian. While the Dalek Emperor and Dalek General fight the Eighth Doctor and his companions, Dalek Master Dalek tries to bring the Doctor's body back to Dalek City to be studied. The Eighth Doctor's body is only partially returned, leaving his skeleton in Dalek City.

Jumping through time and space

The Valeyard eventually arrived on a time system that was in a continuous loop; the Eighth Doctor used his spider to break through the barrier to the past and travel to Dalek City. A few months before his arrival, Dalek Emperor Dalek had dispatched the entire Dalek fleet to Dalvian, with the intent of conquering Dalvinian. Dalek Master Dalek decided to leave Dalvian, since the Eighth Doctor was there now, and took the intelligence of Dalek Emperor Dalek with him to the past. The Doctor and Jo managed to reach the base of Dalek Commander Markov, where he was still trying to make the base habitable.

Markov was able to keep the Eighth Doctor in the past, when Dalek Master Dalek found out that Dalvinian was unable to withstand the Daleks' invasion. Eventually, Markov took the Eighth Doctor, Jo, Silhouette and the Master to the surface of Dalvian, where they were promptly captured by Dalek Emperor Dalek. The Emperor Dalek planned to feed the Eleventh Doctor to the Valeyard, but he was attacked by Dalek Master Dalek and Silhouette, who were attempting to capture the Master and rescue the Doctor. After Jo helped the Master to escape, the Daleks sent Dalek Master to the Silhouette's cell and Dalek Emperor Dalek to the Master's cell, where they died. The Eleventh Doctor came to escape the prison once again, but fell victim to the brainwashing by Dalek Emperor Dalek, who took him back to Dalvian as his servant and lieutenant.

He had also created a new body for himself, which the Eleventh Doctor had taken to Dalvian. During this time, he learned that the Valeyard had been manipulating Dalek actions since the beginning of Dalvar, and managed to defeat him when he tried to return to Dalvar. At this point, Dalvian came back from the loop to the point when it had entered the loop, and Dalvian's destruction began. The Eighth Doctor, Silhouette and the Master eventually managed to escape, escaping into the past. The Doctor took the body of the Master and Silhouette back to his own time period, after realizing that Dalvian had been destroyed with his help.

Continued occupation

He held the Master and Silhouette prisoner in Dalvian until they somehow escaped their confinement. Later, the Valeyard went to Dalvian to take possession of the Master's body once more. The Master managed to escape, but the Master took Dalek Master's place as commander of Dalek City, forcing the Valeyard to make a deal with him. The Valeyard agreed to leave Dalvian and return the Doctor's body and the Master's body, so the Master could send them back to their own time period. The Master later changed his mind, and had Dalek Master take the place of the Doctor, ensuring that the Doctor would be killed and the Doctor would go to the future and leave Dalek City for good. After Dalek Master and Silhouette had taken the Doctor's place, the Daleks and the Master continued to occupy Dalvian, with the Valeyard's figurehead, Kalianne. The Master eventually killed Silhouette and herself, and sent the Doctor's body back to his own time period.

Afterward

During the Fifth Doctor's time in the TARDIS, the Doctor was able to access the time stream once more and found out that the Daleks were already in the present, while the Master had created a barrier between the time streams in order to hide their presence from him. The Fifth Doctor went to Dalvian and managed to change Dalvinian's name to Dalmar, to hide the invasion in the future. After an emotional goodbye to the Doctor, Dalmar returned to its time period, when the Doctor and Jo went to the present to visit Dalvian once more. Dalmar and Dalavin eventually went into their own time streams and became the fifth and seventh Doctor, respectively. After the Eleventh Doctor had taken Silhouette's body back to the Valeyard's time period, the Valeyard gained the body of Silhouette, creating a new Silhouette.

John Pertwee refers to Dalvian in "The Armageddon Factor", when he faces off against the Daleks, when he uses one of Dalvian's devices, commenting, "Now this is a weapon I can really handle!"

Production

This episode is notable for including actor Charles Gray as the technician. Gray previously played Professor Valentine in "Galaxy Four", and would later go on to play the Silurian Professor Hanwell in "Flesh and Stone", the Director of the Company of Ummissed Science in "The Girl Who Waited", and the Chief Engineer in "The Three Doctors". Gray also appeared in the first series episode "The Enemy of the World" as the Foreman of the Coal Plant where he mentions "he's back on the stick".

Iain Laurie plays the stuntman who punches Dalvin. In the episode, Laurie later appeared in the TV movie "Nightmare in Silver".

The Daleks themselves were meant to wear grey suits in this episode, but were stripped of their grey suits and blue trim and given their current red and yellow suits for the final Dalek invasion.

Actress Zoe Collins has a small role as a student who takes the Master's place in Dalvin, and is eventually found by the Doctor.

On the DVD audio commentary for this episode, David Tennant said that this would be his final role as the Doctor before departing for "Casualty", and that this was the last time he would wear the earring seen on his earlobe.

Thinking about how weird the script was with Dalvin's butt, Terry Molloy of the BBC, who wrote the script for the episode, commented, "I wonder if I was a child and read the script, I would have thought it would be funny."

Cultural impact

The Doctor Who Adventures comic series, published by Rebellion, has an "Adult Dalek" issue where the Daleks go back in time to assassinate the Doctor.

Actor David Warner thought this episode would not sell, since it contained jokes that only teenagers would laugh at. Warner eventually agreed, but upon watching the episode himself, said that it was "so funny". Warner later starred in another adult Dalek comic with the Eleventh Doctor, again mocking the Doctor, and saying that the two are "ridiculous". Warner joked that this was the reason why the script was removed from the BBC archives, with Warner himself wondering why they thought the audience would not laugh at it. Warner also commented that it was "funnier than being given chocolate as a present".

In the video game "Doctor Who: Encounter", the Sixth Doctor and Jo are shown visiting Dalvinian times, and at the suggestion of Dalvin, Jo comes to the Doctor's time. The Sixth Doctor gives her a butt plug to hide the invasion in the future, and also takes Dalvin's butt.

The Love of a Sister

She had to make a hard choice, one she wasn't sure she was prepared to make. She'd made more then her share of mistakes, but keeping Metal here wasn't right. She had to set him free, even if he went back to HIM. She had been pondering this situation for days now, but the longer she waited the higher the chance Eggman would find her, and she had no idea what he would do. She pushed the door to the lab open, and made her way inside. Metal was dangling in the center still, his body only partially active. He could turn his head, but not much else, but really he just followed her with his eyes. In the end she wanted to help him, but keeping him prisoner? That made her no better then Eggman. Now that she knew what he was after, and that she was incapable of fixing it. All she could do is set him free and hope he found some peace along the way.

" Metal... i'm going to unlock your motor functions but before i do... I need to say this. I'm sorry i kept you here so long against your will... i tried really hard to restore your program. But the corruption is to far gone. In a few days time it will be complete and... you will have a full range of emotions. I understand you don't want them... but at this point i'm unable to reverse the process "

She placed her hands behind her back and sighed looking down at him.

" I didn't do this on purpose...what ever is happening to you, i'm not sure if its my program or some part of your own systems. But, i think your only hope now is Eggman... but you came to me first so i can only assume... well, you were to scared to go to him "

The metal sonic's eyes lowered as sh spoke, clearly his one hope was being dashed. What he was thinking was beyond her but he looked so sad? She walked over to the console and began to type on it. small mechanical arms lowered down and fit his arms and legs into there sockets and screwed the bolts in place. She finished the process and he was finally released falling to his hands and knees, unmoving for a moment.

He seemed to look at her for a long moment before standing up fully, testing his range of movement. She figured he was realizing he did not have his weapon systems. By now she hoped he would give up on an offense---she was wrong. The moment he finished, he launched himself at her slamming bell into the wall, a hand wrapped around her neck. His eyes locked on hers as his fist was drawn back she expected to be hit, she closed her eyes and braced for impact! Yet the blow never came. Rather, when she opened her eyes she saw--- sadness. An emotion likely he was not use to feeling, perhaps it overwhelmed him?

" I can not go back... he will Terminate me... he will restore my data core to an older version of me. I---will not be me anymore, i will be someone else... "

He released her dropping her to her feet and backed away. She had no clue why he decided to stay his hand. But he had, and now he wa staring at her, unsure if it was with hatred, malice or something else. She was out of options, she could not save him, and she knew it was time for her to return home.

" I... wish i could fix it... i tried, but, i couldn't do it without damaging your core systems. Sawdust! I'm sorry! i don't know whats happenin' maybe tails could figure it out... but it's way beyond me... what ever happened when we linked up... Its like what happened to moto... but more permanent... "

" Listen... If you come back with me... i can keep trying. Maybe tails can help... i'm not gonna give up but---staying here, he'll find us sooner or later...i don't want to be Terminated anymore then you... i'm going back...come with me "

" No... I refuse to ask for THERE help... they are the enemy, If i must go on my own to complete my function. So be it..."

" I Will find a way to restore myself... And then i will ELIMINATE MY LOATHSOME COPY! ... because that is my only desire... Nothing you have done here will change that dear Sister... next time we meet, We will be enemies... "

" I... understand...."

She lowered her head watching him leave, it was a hard thing for her to accept. He would never be like her, even with emotions he could only think of his purpose. Unlike her his was not torn away, he still only thought of---hold on what did he say? Sister? She looked up quickly but he was already gone. Rushing her way out of the facility looking she could not find him, he was long gone---even with her design he was nimble wasn't he?

" Sister? what a strange thing for him to say... i suppsoe, in away... we are aren't we? What a strange emotion... i'm not sure i know what this one is. I should get back, Moto! come on... lets go... Home..."
