for those who wanna know, and as a warning to proceed with caution, we went to Meow Wolf. i survived for maybe 3 minutes, not including the bathroom.

it's a really pretty, psychedelic place, but my ma told me my sensory overload was likely from the unknown of the place ( as Meow Wolf's whole thing is kinda having different 'portals' and levels // stages ). so, even though i thought it was cool and wasn't worried, my body processed it very differently.

I can explain.

So, i've been thinking...i've never done anything with the non-apocalypse futures past a few months.

I'd also been thinking, that out of all the fan kids i've seen around, there wasn't a lot (if any) for Raph.

I ALSO thought, Family Web would be an absolutely horrible au to have Bishop be involved in (mostly b/c Leo would NOT be good with an evil government scientist. at all.)

anyways, here's an in-story explanation for what i got so far

When Raph's 25, he gets word that there's some government program doing some shady things. Now that wouldn't really be his concern, but they're rumored to be using mutagen so they feel obligated to check it out.

SO the three of them check it out (Not leo. He tried but the medical equipment got to him. He portaled to the roof to wait on standby.) They find a lot of failed experiments and the like, most being with at least some turtle dna for some reason.

They also find two very young, very alive baby turtle mutants.

So, of course, they take them home. (after completely destroying the lab, information and all.)

They find out a few days later (b/c of course Donnie copied the info and he and Jenny have been going through it for anything good) that ever since the failed invasion, Bishop's group had been taking their DNA samples left over from various fight locations, (and probably paying a few people to get blood samples too) and using it it to do genetic experiments. B/c the four have such a hodge-podge of dna to start with, the experiments were never stable. The two they stole being the best they've accomplished over the years. The two that just happen to have used Raph's dna.

I'm going to have to do more with this. Like give the boys adult looks and the like. but these two were being rotated in my brain on high for list the last 9 hours now and if i didn't share them tonight i was going to go insane. (i couldn't even focus at work i was so fixated on these two bitties.)

A Message for the RotTMNT Fans

For everyone who is afraid of drawing Rise Raph because of his large body type and proportions, I am here to give you this message: I promise you, I would much rather see you try your best effort and it look a little wonky than for you to exclude him entirely from your art and doodles.

The reason I am able to draw Raph as well as I am right now is because I learned how to draw fat/muscular/chubby body anatomy in my early art career. But it's really never too late to start practicing! I encourage you, I implore you even, to take a few small steps out of your comfort zone for a bit and see where it takes you. If you want to draw him (or any favorite character from a piece of media you love, really) but are intimidated because of their size being abnormal from the thin/skinny, I want you to know that it's okay to be scared. What's not okay is giving up, quitting, or not even trying to attempt their bigger proportions at all. Because then that will bleed over into the rest of your art style/mentality, and there are aspects of your art that you may never improve on because of that. You don't know until you try.

I know it may feel awkward at first, and you may be intimidated by the pressure of getting it right, less anyone make fun of you or you get caught by peers or non-artists and be judged. Trust me, I know. I have been there! It's not a pleasant experience. But if you want to get better as an artist, you need to learn different body types. You need to unlearn the internal fatphobia that society has ingrained into your brain. You need to free yourself and allow yourself to make mistakes as you learn and practice to get better.

Raph is such a wonderful character and he deserves just as much love as all the other brothers, but I've talked to so many artists who all repeat the same thing; "He's so hard to draw." "I can't get his shapes quite right." "I don't draw him that much because I'm intimidated." You are 100% valid for these feelings, I promise. But I think it's for these reasons that you should draw him anyway, and learn his shapes, and learn to draw larger bodies and bigger muscles, because it helps you grow as an artist. And besides that, representation matters. I know there's plenty of fans out there who would love to see more representation like Raph.

So go for it. Even if you're scared. Even if you're unsure. Give yourself a little grace if you wanna draw that big lovable turtle, and do your best. And when it comes down to it, I bet that if he was real and you showed it to him, he'd love it and appreciate the effort no matter what. <3

What are your favorite Rottmnt headcanons?

Okay these are some headcanons I could remember off the top of my head-

Let's get some popular fanons out of the way - insomniac Leo and medic Leo are two that I like a lot. Medic Leo is interesting to me because I don't think it really works in canon, Leo's entire thing is that he doesn't feel like he has a good "role" to fill in the team, if he actually had the role of medic it would kinda undermine that. But that's what fanmade stories are for, you can explore fun ideas without it affecting canon, so I like it as a headcanon.

Obviously good ol' disaster twins, certified classic. I've talked about this before but I personally view Leo as the older twin, but I also don't think Leo or Donnie would know that so because of that they're constantly fighting over who the oldest one is out of the two of them. But I also like the idea that Leo doesn't really care that much, he mostly keeps calling himself the oldest one because to piss off Donnie because Donnie REFUSES to believe he'd be younger than an immature idiot like Leo. But because of that Leo will call himself the younger twin on occasion if it would benefit him in a certain situation, like if Donnie is mad at him for something and Leo just goes "🥺👉👈please forgive me?🥺👉👈 your baby brother?🥺👉👈" which would also infuriate Donnie LMAO.

I have some headcanons about the brothers' music taste. We already know their canon favorite music genres but I have some extra ideas. For example Raph's favorite genre soul, but I also like the idea of him enjoying blues and lo-fi hip hop and such. Leo's into glamrock specifically, but I also view him as liking a lot of rock music, but mostly 70s-90s rock. Also as an MCR fan I am going to project my love for MCR onto him and you cannot stop me, but also in my defense The Black Parade album is very inspired by for example Pink Floyd and Queen and such which I already imagine Leo would be into so I'm justified in thinking he'd AT LEAST like that specific album. (But he'd also like Danger Days simply because I say so)

When it comes to Casey Jr's origins, I've seen a lot of different ideas in the fandom, either that Casey Sr is his bio mom or that she adopted him. And when CJ is depicted as Casey's bio-kid, I've seen headcanons where either Casey just gave birth to him normally or that CJ is some sorta test-tube-baby-clone or whatever made with the help of either Donnie or Draxum. For a long time I couldn't decide which headcanon I prefered, so because of that I like the idea of it just being a mystery that none but Casey knows the answer to. Like, Casey just had a baby one day that she informed everyone was her kid and no one had any idea where said kid came from. And no one in the resistance really had much time to dwell on it cause they were all too busy fighting the krang. "Casey has a kid now? Okay whatever good for her we don't have time to think about that we're all dying"

Another thing discussed in the fandom, what the heck Baron Draxum's first name? Some people see Baron as his name and some see it as just a title. I already brought this up in another post but I view it as both! His fist name is Baron, and he also has the title of Baron, so he's Baron Baron Draxum. But calling him that is a bit reduntant and silly so he just shortens it down to one singular Baron.

Mikey has the highest spice-tolerance in the family while Donnie has the lowest. Actually I just have a tendency to project my sensory issues with food onto Donnie in general, poor guy lmao sucks to be him.

Mikey is the second physically strongest out of the turtles (after Raph of course)

Donnie is the second most naturally talanted mystic user (after Mikey of course) but because he's trained the least with mystic powers Raph and Leo are both more skilled than him.

Donnie was the first to meet April and kinda tried to gate-keep her by hiding her from his brothers LMAO but they found out about her after like a week

I like to think Donnie is someone that likes to act all villainous for ✨The Aesthetic✨ but really can't handle being intentionally cruel and sadistic. Like he'd act all tough and be like "heh I know seventeen different ways to torture someone for information.... 😈my dark and twisted mind....😈 " but then he gets nauseous from seeing a bit of blood. Like he's all bark no bite.

Another headcanon I've brought up before is the idea that Donnie got REALLY into researching conspiracy theories about Lou Jitsu's mysterious disappearance when he was a kid. And he'd infodump about these theories TO SPLINTER who just had to do his best to keep his poker face through that.

Dunno if ya'll remember that post circling around a little while ago theorising that CJ has a prosthetic hand, but regardless, I've adopted that as a headcanon.

I love love LOVE the idea of Raph and Leo being co-leaders, mostly because I think specifically rottmnt's versions of the A-Team would be the only ones who could actually pull it off LMAO. I think neither of them deal well with having too much responsibility put on them and they overall are able to make up for each other's weaknesses. After the movie I think if they sat down to discuss they'd decide to just split up the leadership role between the two of them and it would actually work.

My headcanon for the turtles' eyecolour is yet another thing I've talked about, but I really like the idea of them having dark brown eyes :]

Background

What that Yokai wanted from you was unclear, you were simply on your way home when suddenly you found yourself to be cornered by a scary looking creature. All you knew was that it wasn't human.

It started shouting at you, demanding of something that you had stolen from them but you were unfamiliar with the description of the object they were after as you had no memory of coming across such item. It was when they lost their anger and about to lash at you, potentially taking you away, your classmate, April was able to jump to your rescue.

With the Yokai out cold, she grabbed your hand and began taking you somewhere. Somewhere she said will be safe for the both of you. However you didn't expect it to be the smelly odour of the sewers you would be hiding into. After a few walks and turns, you stumbled upon what seemed to be an underground lair. You were too astonished by the place to even notice the four creatures staring at you.

RAPH

Out of all of the brothers, he was quick to pull April aside and ask her why she thought it was a great idea to bring a random HUMAN into their secret lair.

It was when she explained how you were being targeted by a Yokai that caught his attention. You? Being targeted by a Yokai? What could a Yokai need from a human like you?

Despite his unease having a stranger in the lair, he decided to let you stay when April assured him you were a good person. If she trusts you enough then he'll trust you too.

Seeing how April explains to you this whole new world to you, he could only watch as your expression changes every second from the pure shock of all of this.

He had to admit, he had expected you to freak out and run away but surprisingly you approached him and his brothers to introduce yourself properly.

"My name's (Y/N), it's nice to meet you. April says you guys are the good guys" You'd say and he couldn't help but stare at you. You're not afraid of them??

After the events of that day, you'd come by often to understand this new world of Yokai better, also for the sake of understanding why you would be targeted by one in the first place.

You were kind, patient and not to mention respectful towards them. That's why he decided to offer you some self defense lessons to ensure you were capable of protecting yourself.

As the eldest and being the one bearing so much responsibilities, he appreciates it when you would take the time to hear his rants. Like he never thought he'd find someone who would just get how he feels.

You guys would definitely do relaxing activities together to calm your minds. He now finds it more fun when you're doing it with him.

Yoga, knitting, making tea? Count him in!!

That's why it comes easily that his uncertainty towards you would change. He'd feel himself starting to feel more comfortable around you, at the same he'd also be protective of you since he now considers you a close friend.

LEO

The moment you came inside the lair, your presence had him raise his brows out of interest. Like who are you? And why are you here?

Second to Mikey, he would also approach you to introduce himself. He had to admit, he was just happy to befriend another human.

He literally didn't listen to a single thing to what Raph said about you, all he knew was that you needed safety and was being targeted by a Yokai. But hey, just because you're here to figure things out, that doesn't mean you can't make your stay fun at the same time!

He'd be all over you, like whatever it is that you're doing, he wants to include himself in it. But if you really need the privacy or concentration to do something, he'll back off.

Once you become his friend, be ready for the weekly rants about the different varieties of comics he'd finish reading. If you happen to do the same, he'd be glad to lend you his collection ONLY IF you return it without a scratch.

Honestly, I like to think that he's the one who constantly tries to get you in trouble with his crazy activities. That's because Raph will let him slide easily if you were involved. He likes to boast about how it's a 169 IQ strategy but what he doesn't realise is the pile of chores he'll have to do after every attempt.

He's aware of you being targeted by this unknown Yokai but that doesn't stop him from taking you to the Hidden City. He's a risk taker, what did you expect?

He has probably lost you once or more and it always costs him a lot of trouble to finally find you. Just imagine at the end of the day, he'd be begging you not to tell anyone about what happened because he's afraid of being lectured.

He definitely let's you play with his samurai swords if you ever asked. You once accidentally teleported one of Donnie's gadgets and you both agree to keep it a secret. Til this day on, he's still searching for it.

Also if you need someone to have fun with, he's the guy.

If you wanna skateboard with him, he'll gladly do so. If you don't know how to, he'll be patient in teaching you. His hands intertwined with yours to make sure you don't fall off.

To be fair he doesn't think much of your sudden appearance to the group, as long as you're cool and a genuinely nice person, you're welcomed to the club!

DONNIE

No way did April just let a random person in their lair as if it's thanksgiving.

He'd be conscious about you, watching your every move and every expression, anything to catch just a hint of bad intentions behind your sudden appearance.

When April was explaining your situation to Raph, he couldn't help but eavesdrop. You were almost kidnapped by a Yokai? Yikes. Why would someone do that?

Even though April reassures them how you are trustworthy, Donnie feels like he'll need to judge your character himself.

After the day you guys got to know each other, you would regularly drop by their place to stay for a while, your reason being either that you wanted to come by to chill or that you felt safer in the lair.

Personally Donnie would be invested in figuring out why you were targeted by a Yokai in the first place. If you're ready to talk about it, he'd question the night of the event to get some answers.

While he's on his computer doing his investigating, he wouldn't mind having you inside his room. Just don't break or touch any of his things. He can get frustrated when you move even just an inch of his stuff.

Since you are uncertain of your safety, Donnie would be willing to make a watch for you. It can track where you are and if you happen to be in an emergency, just one press on the emergency button and he'll instantly get the message.

He's not mean or anything but it takes a while for him to put down his guard around you. Once he does then it's like seeing a whole different side of him, he'd be much more chatty and smiling.

If you're sort of a nerd who likes to geek out then he's your pal to geek out with. Math, science, whatever that is a common interest between you both, he can go on for days if you dare challenge him.

To be honest I can see him being the type to sneak into school just to see what you're doing. Not in a stalking way but more of a, oh you need company that day because April isn't present? Or you have a school event and you want him to be there? He just wants to ensure your safety in case a Yokai somehow sneaks in, which is ironic since he's doing the exact same.

Clearly when you came to the lair for the first time he is very wary of you but after a few days of getting to know you personally, he realises how the misunderstanding led to a new friendship. He won't complain since you turned out to be an alright person.

"Oh great you're procrastinating again. GO BACK TO WORK!!"

MIKEY

His eyes lit up when he saw you entering the lair with April beside you. Its almost like an alarm went off in his head signalling "NEW FRIEND. NEW FRIEND" over and over again.

He was the first to approach you, he was introducing himself and talking about lots of nonsense. All you could make out was how he said he was thrilled to meet you and that he was excited to paint rainbows together (?). You were confused as you struggled to keep up with his pace of talking.

When Raph told him the tight situation you were in, he actually gasped, like audibly gasped. A Yokai tried to kidnap you? How could someone do that??

That's why he was willing to let you stay any time you needed. He didn't complain since that meant he gets to have some company.

He really does care about your safety so if you'd like, he would like to join you whenever you went out. If its in the morning then he'll be on the rooftops watching after you as you walked down the city. Anything to make you feel less anxious.

Speaking of anxiety, he'd offer to have you paint murals with him. The lair has plenty of walls for you to use so if you're an artist itching for some place to test out your skills, he knows just where is the perfect place.

Something also tells me he would like to create matching bracelets together. Yes, he's just that good at making new friends. He'll definitely make your beads your favourite colour while you do his signature orange.

He's so the type of friend to make sure you're always looking your best. You have something in your teeth? He'll tell you discreetly. Is your hair not hairing? Don't worry bro's a stylist.

He obviously tries to lift up your spirits as his brothers are busy helping you out. If you ever need someone to talk about your worries to, he's there to lend a shoulder. He'll have tissues ready if you happen to need a good cry.

Based on the details you shared about what happened, he can't help but come up with a theory that you could be some secret hybrid. Maybe you have some secret powers you're not aware? He once brought that theory to Donnie who immediately dismisses it.

But who knows, maybe he's onto something.

Nonetheless, he's just glad to have made a friend like you. Sometimes some good can come out of an unplanned surprise.

I agree and I have been thinking about this and if I may be allowed to add: Leo thinks he's Splinter's least favorite because he's the most like Splinter and no one hates Splinter more than himself.

I think about Leo’s “I’m your least favorite” comment to Splinter in “Down with the Sickness” a lot. It’s likely just a throwaway comment, a way to get Splinter to leave him alone before Leo gets sick too, but I can’t help but wonder if Leo believes it on some level.

Obviously it’s not true, Splinter loves him as much as he loves the others, but…it wouldn’t be shocking if Leo believed otherwise. After all, just in “Many Unhappy Returns” alone, Splinter has, with no hesitation, said comments like “my other sons would have taken this seriously” and “I knew I should’ve brought purple”, said “no” to Leo’s “I love you”, and pretty blatantly didn’t extend any trust in Leo’s plan even after Leo was fairly effortlessly defeating their opponents.

It was only after, when they’d already won, that Splinter finally gives him a “it was all you my son!” And…that’s basically it. Raph is the one who announces his trust in Leo. Not their father, even though Splinter is the one to witness Leo lowering his walls for once (which Splinter doesn’t react well too, because Leo only lowers his walls in the most hectic of times, and because he lowers them only then, either no one is around or no one is in the right state of mind to respond properly, leading to Leo building his walls back up, and the cycle continues.)

Again, it’s not because Splinter doesn’t love Leo, but Leo…can’t be feeling too good about all that. The way he never reacted surprised about any of Splinter’s words too…

He may know that Splinter loves them all, as a group, but individually…I don’t think Leo believes he ranks all that high with that love. Gives another meaning to “I’m nothing without my brothers” huh?

(Of course, I’m willing to bet the invasion changed that understanding, but with that comes the potential misunderstanding that his father’s outright love is tied to Leo sacrificing himself.)

Her lore: As a child, Elin had no friends because everyone considered her strange and bad because of her violent nature and anger control problems. Elin had a very strong Thirst for adventure. She loved to go outside and climb some abandoned buildings or stay in the woods for a little while, for a little while because she didn't want to bother her family with her missing lol.

A few years later, when she had already grown up, she decided that when she reached a certain age, she would move to New York and study at the university there. The day after her eighteenth birthday, her father decided to tell her about his original plans for Elin. Personality: Because of anger issues, she can get angry pretty quickly, but she still tries to control it, even though she doesn't always succeed. She is very boisterous and cocky, likes to tease or make fun of anyone (most often it's Leo, Raph and Donnie). As I said before, she loves adventures very much, so she constantly asks to go on missions with the turtles, but most often she is refused, namely, Raph refuses because he does not want her to hurt herself, but even so, Elin still sometimes secretly followed them on missions and they drove her back home or else somewhere, but not for them on a mission.
