silco sent the pair of you up, undercover, to get dirt on one of piltover's long standing aldermen. it's well known that he's got very illegal ties with a development company-- taking close to twenty percent off all their earnings in exchange for letting them start development on the longstanding zaunite promenade.

the only way you've managed to sneak into this party (held in his own fucking home because he's rich enough to live in a house with a ballroom) is by pretending to be complete strangers.

you're a cater-waiter. this was an easy cover. almost all the staff working the event are from zaun, you just picked the nearest one your size and handed them a sack of coins to trade outfits and scram for the evening. it was the easiest decision of the kid's life.

sevika's cover wasn't so easy. silco insisted that sevika shared an uncanny resemblance to a well-known socialite, but when you got there to drug the lady for the evening and disguise sev, you nearly pissed yourself laughing. perhaps the woman looked like sevika forty years ago. but now, she's a crouched over, wrinkled up, old lady.

so, she was easy to knock out. it wasn't so easy getting sevika to look old. you told her to tell her friends she got work done. she glared at you so hard you're surprised you didn't burst into flames.

but the thing is, it's not even the shitty disguise that's gonna blow it. it's the fact that she won't take her fucking hands off of you.

and, it's not a spoken rule, but people from piltover-- especially ones this rich-- do not interact with cater-waiters... and they certainly don't keep pinching said cater-waiter's ass, and trailing off to eye-fucking at you across the room mid-conversation, and trapping you in a pantry to have a steamy makeout session mid party.

and now, to make matters worse, another one of the cater-waiters is trying to flirt with you, too. and you really don't want to deal with a sevika murdering anyone tonight. it would totally blow your cover.

"so..." you think their name is zack? zane? asks. "i've got some weed. me and a couple of the dishwashers are gonna go to some topside bar after... you wanna join?" they ask.

you cringe and shake your head. "sorry, i gotta get home." you mumble, quickly grabbing the fresh plate of appetizers from him and sprinting out of the kitchen.

you bump right into sevika and groan. the wrinkles you'd painted onto her skin with eyeshadow are completely smeared and gone from earlier, and she's got her eyes pinned on the swinging door you just came from.

"did they fucking touch you?"

"do you want a bacon wrapped shrimp madame?" you ask.

sevika's glare drops momentarily, and she shoves two of the shrimp in her mouth, her eyes rolling back at the taste, and then her glare returning. "i'm gonna fucking kill them. find a way to fill a to-go box with those." she growls, pointing at the plate.

you giggle and take a quick look around, making sure nobody's looking, before swooping in to kiss her cheek. "they didn't touch me. i won't let them. please just play along for a little longer so we can ditch this lame ass party and go home." you whisper.

sevika sighs, then crouches back over in her old lady posture. "fine." she grunts, turning around and shuffling back to the party. you chuckle, and she flips you off over her shoulder.

she doesn't drop it.

to be fair... zin(?) does make a pass at you again. they find you refilling the refreshments and wrap their arm around you like you're familiar, or something.

sevika sees it, and your stomach drops. you're pretty sure you can see steam coming out of her ears.

you duck out of their arm and scurry across the ballroom, shoving the bag of ice you're carrying into the nearest uniform's arms.

sevika's storming across the floor (much faster than any old lady should) and you meet her right in the center, one finger pointed out and a nasty glare on your face.

sevika freezes, half a foot from you, her eyes darting between whats-their-name and you.

"we are surrounded by hundreds of people. do not blow your cover." you whisper-shout.

sevika deflates again, and you think that's the end of it. you quickly turn around to leave the dance floor, but sevika grabs your wrist, and pulls you back into her chest.

you gasp-- and before you can say anything, she's licking one long stripe up your neck.

you shudder, your eyes falling shut for just a moment, before you pry them open to make sure nobody saw, giving a firm elbow to the gut. sevika just chuckles, and from the sound of silverware clattering to the ballroom floor, you know whats-their name saw too.

"i'm gonna fucking kill you." you mutter.

"i look forward to it." sevika giggles, giving your ass a firm pat before walking away.

happy spooky season everyone!!

ive never had the time to do something like this, but ive finally timed it all right and I'll be posting a halloween/spooky centered fic for this season! and, for the first time ever, I'm trying out a mini-series kind of format! if its something ppl like and interact with ill def consider doing this more!

anywayyyyyyyy, starting next friday, the 13th, on patreon I will begin posting my new mini-series called Oleander for early access! two weeks later on friday, the 27th, tumblr will begin the story!

it's a three part mini series with darker themes and ideas than ive ever worked with before! i don't usually spoil too much of the stories but ! this is another vamp h story!! very different from my previous vamp h though!!!

this will be my last big piece of writing for the year before I go on my break, and I'm so excited for you guys to get to read it and get to know this new story!

She hadn't misremembered, it appeared. His eyes really were almost black, just barely tinted a forest green—if the forest in question was being spotted in the pitch of night, only a sliver of the moon and stars above allowing any clarification.

Her heart jumped in her throat, running faster than it had any reason to when their eyes met. She forced herself to swallow it down.

"Sorry, sir," she muttered, unable to pull her gaze away from his even if she instinctively wanted to look anywhere else. "Did you find all you were looking for?" 

"I did, yes." His voice was a lulling rumble, rounded and heady as if the goal was to lure her nearer. If not for the table separating them, she would have fallen for it.

Offering a quiet smile, she gave him a polite nod. 

No other words were exchange, as per usual for his visits. The Count wasn't much for conversation and idle chatter like the rest of the village. Instead, she could feel him watching her as she counted up his herbs and the price of each bundle. 

He was buying the same ones he always did: winter savory (he switched to chamomile when out of season), tobacco, and lavender. 

The buds together created a confusing scent, adding to the mishmash of what the apothecary already was. She couldn't imagine that he would put these three together in any space of that castle, the mixture too aggressive. 

Though she tired her best to concentrate on only the herbs, (Y/N) was too aware of the static of his presence. She wondered what he thought when he came down to the village, what he thought when he interacted with people like her. He was always so stoic. He never gave anything away, though that didn't stop the village gossip from running wild about him.

Swallowing around her dry throat, heartbeat bubbling against her ribs, she matched his gaze. The pricing for his bounty came out on buzzing lips, "Sixteen shillings please, sir." 

He didn't bat an eyelash at the price despite it being the biggest single purchase her father's apothecary would see until the next time he ventured down. Instead, he looked at her with his dark eyes and a tic in his jaw. He was unbearably handsome, made of cut edges and smooth planes, but he always looked at her as if he were angry and working to bury it down. She could never figure out why or what exactly made his nostrils flare or his jaw tight when he spoke to her, but she hoped she wasn't the only one he reacted to like this. 

His hands moved quickly, pulling out a small pouch of tinkling coins before he plucked out the exact amount for her. For a moment, she could see bank notes tucked inside the pouch as well. While she wasn't surprised that someone like him would have that kind of wealth, she had never seen it before with her own eyes. 

Passing off the change to her, his pale fingers grazed her open palm. Goosebumps immediately raised across her skin, his touch feeling as if he had been standing in the dawn's dew for hours, allowing the chill to cling to his skin and leach away all hope for warmth. The graze was quick, barely a heartbeat long, but she swore she could feel the lingering touch for moments after. Maybe he really did have a hard time navigating the village when the fog was this thick, having traveled in winding route and wrong turns for so long he still hadn't been able to heat up even after spending time in the shop. 

Flicking her gaze up to his on instinct, she saw he was looking at swatches of skin exposed from her dress, eyeing the goosebumps he had plucked up on accident. 

(Y/N) cleared her throat, nothing more than a reminder to herself to keep professional and not to gawk at the man. She placed the change in the small cup underneath the collection counter before reaching for his herbs of choice. A length of twine was used to tie up the bundle, ensuring he didn't lose anything on his way back home. 

"Thank you," he muttered once she passed them back, their skin no longer grain this time. 

"Have a pleasant journey back home," she chirped, her voice decidedly pleasant against the bubbling she was feeling inside, "Stay warm." 

The Count didn't give any kind of reaction to her before he was leaving the shop in a flourish. Taking advantage of the window at her disposal, she watched as he ventured out into the fog. The mist mingled around him, making him appear as if he were a ghost, one with the Earth-bound clouds. She was only vague aware of the way her body heat ticked up some now that he had left. 

Though she could hear the sound of footsteps descending the stairs that led up to their home a floor above, (Y/N)'s head was outside the shop and away from her father. She didn't turn even when she could tell he had made it to the landing. He was used to it by now, she knew. Her head was always miles away as far as he was concerned—thinking too big for the village and that was only going to hurt her in the long run. 

The air around her shifted, telling her that her father was just behind her, likely watching to see what had caught her attention this time. 

"Is that Harry?" he grumbled, spitting out the name while dismissing the faux-title since they were alone. 

Her father didn't much like the Count—Harry, as he bitterly spat out. (Y/N) was never sure what had set off her father's distaste for the man, just knowing that he thought him to be something of a boogeyman against the village. He didn't even go to church, her father regularly complained. What kind of man was he if he couldn't even bother to trudge down from his palace to spend some time with God, even if it was in the presence of commoners? 

(Y/N) never really minded. Though she'd never tell her father, church was boring. She couldn't blame Harry—the Count, whatever she was supposed to call him—for skipping out. Especially with the peeks a the castle she could garner if she trekked through the woods far enough. She wouldn't want to leave that place for anything. 

Nonetheless, (Y/N) answered with a soft, "Yes." Her eyes were still locked on the form of him she could barely make out through the mist. 

A grunt of disapproval left her father's lips. She didn't have to look at him to know that he had his arms crossed over his chest. "Are you okay?" 

It was when he settled a hand on her shoulder that she snapped out of her staring. 

"Yes, I'm well," she answered as placidly as possible when she turned to face him. She didn't want to show just how affected she was by the Count. Her father would do more than just grunt and disapprove if he knew just how drawn to the man as she was. 

He peered through the window, his eyes surely finding the one dark figure filtering through the fog. His brows slanted into harsh slashes over his eyes. "I want you to come and find me when he comes in from now on. I don't want him talking with you, anymore." 

Her fingertips buzzed at the new instructions, matching the kickstart to her heartbeats. As much as she heard her father's concerns, and had listened in to all the of the stories and webs spun about this man, those did little to deter her interest in Harry or quell the bubbling in her chest every time she saw him step inside the apothecary. 

"I can handle him, father," she countered, trying to sound as uninterested as possible while attempting to hold her ground, "We barely talk when he comes in, anyway." 

The creases between his brows only deepened when he matched her gaze. "I do not want you becoming one of his victims, (Y/N)."

• It took Daryl such a long time to just convince you to go on a date with him before the outbreak happened. He dressed up in the nicest clothes he could find, took you to the nicest (it was a fast dinner) restaurant, and generally tried in his best way to show his best side to you.

• What you don't know though is that he had already had his eyes on you from the first moment he saw you. He started to take simple notes about where you worked, what walks you used to do, and where you lived. All of those things are wrong but he was pretty good at hiding and not getting caught.

• So when the big day came when he proposed to you and you said yes, it was like he was walking on clouds. After all those nights outside your window and watching you, all those days he took his chances to "bump" into you, all of it was worth it. You two were getting married and you would take his last name.

• The big wedding day didn't happen though. The outbreak happened just one month before you two would get together. Daryl brought you along with him and his brother Merle. Daryl told you to stay close to him, now with such a dangerous disease, it is better if you stay close to him so he can keep you safe.

• But you wanted to be close to Atlanta. Maybe the disease would die out soon and maybe you can keep yourself close to the town. That's where you met other survivors that had started to camp outside of Atlanta.

• Daryl hated it though. These were strangers. Who knew what crazy shit people will do during an apocalypse? They could snap in their head and try to hurt you. Or get you killed.

• "Why should we talk with 'em?" Daryl had asked you one night. "Why should we trust 'em? Just because they seem nice now, doesn't mean they need to be nice later."

• Which proved his point. A man and a widow screw around in the forest like animals, and then suddenly the new sheriff in the camp chained up his brother Merle on the roof.

• "You see?" Daryl was sobbing out to you in anger. "They took Merle from me. Do you have any idea what they could do to ya? First, they take Merle, soon they'll either chain you or me on a roof to let us rot. We can't trust these people."

• After that, it didn't turn much better. He was literally next to you, walked wherever you were walking, never leaving your side. Suddenly it wasn't just Daryl who was hunting for food, you had to come along too so he knew you were in good hands.

• After the horrific events at a scientist bomb office (at least you two had a nice shower together), the group finally arrives at a farm. Well, except for losing Sophia on the road.

• You had cried, you cried with Carol that Sophia was missing. Daryl couldn't stand that a child got lost. Shit, what if it were your child missing? Now, you two hadn't discussed a lot about children, but Daryl knows if you two get children he would protect them with his life.

• When Daryl was gone most of the days, you got some space. When you stood on the porch on the farm you couldn't help but feel a bit. . . revealed? It is horrible to say it, you would never say it out loud, but it was good that Sophia disappeared. It gave you time to actually talk with the others for the first time. You got some space. You got to have your own time.

• "They aren't that bad actually," you spoke softly to Daryl. Daryl glanced over at you, he lay in the bed and had got shot by Andrea. "I hope you're kidding," Daryl grumbled. "None of these people are looking for Sophia. I am the only one who does it, even her own mother isn't looking for her. None of them is trusting each other, Lori is sleeping with two guys. Andrea shot me."

• You couldn't argue against that. It made you feel sorry for him and you saw what a big heart he has.

• But then he stopped looking for Sophia, to rest himself. But he didn't rest, oh no, this was his time to walk around and see what is actually happening on the farm with you. He didn't leave you for one second. Glaring a bit at everyone who stepped a bit closer to you two.

• "Let them talk with us for one second," you whispered to Daryl. "So olive oyl can complain about having two boyfriends? Or that Andrea is proud of a girl to cut herself? I love ya, ya got a big heart for everyone, but they aren't good for you. They're selfish town girls."

• You couldn't argue against that.

• And the farm life didn't last forever. As the barn burned up, the herd came to the farm, you had to escape. As Daryl had you on the motorcycle, he had this big encouragement to drive you two far away. But you had said you two needed to find the others. He couldn't say no to you. Not yet at least.

• Maybe his mind snapped a bit when you two were at the prison. You had jokingly stepped into a cell and closed the door behind you. Grinning at Daryl in a joking way "Never did I think we would spend time together behind locked bars."

• He had barely heard you. Barley thought clearly. But when he saw you like that. Saw you behind bars, something sweet twisted in his mind, something that gave him a pleasure to see you locked up.

• The other ones in the group didn't dare to walk near you now. Always you were near your husband Daryl who would look at them with a twisted eye, a small glare. They understood you two wanted to be alone.

• But you didn't want to be alone with your husband. He had started to give small hints that perhaps this group is more broken than ever, perhaps it is time for you two to leave. But you didn't want that.

• Daryl doesn't sleep one night as he looks at you while you're sleeping. He remembers the old days before the breakout. How he watched you through your window, how he followed you through the park so you could "bump" into him. How he followed you to the work. All of that stuff was wrong. . . in the old world.

• Daryl blinks a couple of times and looks around in the cell you two were in. If you were locked up. . . no one would get you. And he could take care of you. Make sure no one ever gets close to you. Oh, how he hated some of your old friends, especially some of the men who were your friends. Too close to you in his opinion. But, it is new times. In the old world it would be seen as wrong, but in this new world? Well, who would stop him?

• He slowly gets up from the bed you're sharing. He walks out of the cell and quietly closes it. And then he stands there for a good while. Admiring how you are in a cage. His cage. There no one was allowed into, except him.

• His eyes twist a little bit when he watches you sleep inside the cell. He knows if he had done this in bright daylight, you would ask for help from the others. Oh, he has to be clever now. He has to take you away from here. He has to find his own little cage where no one has an impact on you, except him.

• So that day, that day when the Governor comes to the prison and blows it up and everyone got split, he couldn't be more grateful. He grabbed you and ran.

• Because now he had his chance to actually be with his wife alone, forever.

ahhhh i finished it last saturday night (11/9) (this will post from the q so after other q'd things)! it was really enjoyable tbh, i really liked it. it was good (if we don't get another da game, i am fairly satisfied) not perfect but few things are. def stick with it if you're not sure, there's a LOT at the end

spoilers for the end of veilguard- initial notes after the cut, not particularly organized

not me figuring out the varric reveal like 5 minutes before it was actually revealed tho XD tbh i was expecting him to die from the trailers and then he didn't and i was like "oh perhaps they're doing something else with him?" so they got me with the bait and switch and i was properly horrified. good job, you got me bioware. (as an aside, i still don't think varric was a strong enough choice as solas' friend for the intro section, like you never get the impression they are friends in dai at all. varric was stronger friends with anders than he was with solas, despite weird dai retcon about it. I wish they'd centered the narrative around someone else there- cole would have been a good choice? or cole and varric even since that's the most interesting interaction varric has with solas in dai) i'll def have to watch the cutscenes with him in subsequent pts. I kinda wish they'd done a follow up with him somewhere, maybe like the endings in that one fade book you find in trespasser (like at that fade bar with alistair/the warden/hawke/etc, would have been nice). got some solavellan conclusions, more than i expected and it was pretty good all things considered (i would have loved more, but also this was much more than we've gotten from other cameos of previous protagonists).

(is this the most awkward screenshot ever? possibly XD look she loves him so much, she'll even kiss his blight-y mouth and go live with him in the fade) i do wish they'd figured out a way to keep cole in (esp since spirit cole has that sad line about needing to help solas at the end of trespasser) somewhere. it was still pretty good honestly, i cried (this whole game made me cry at various points tho). I do think it could have resolved with them both living outside the fade and just his life being tied to it but i also get them wanting to literally tie up loose ends with this particular narrative.

it feels very mass effect 2ish (esp the end game section), i think most people will like it but i did find the end game section kinda stressful (where you have to pick the right person for things). Also for a dragon age game, usually by the end you have your team so having to break up the team so they live is not necessarily what i want in a DA game (i can appreciate it narratively while disliking it in practice lol) The format is also very mass effect-y in how it doles out companion stuff (esp romance stuff)- it's paced around the plot which is for the most part a good thing (but it also made it hard to tell where you were with things). I definitely like how they utilized the factions better than DAI or DAO tho- even tho only their rank mattered, having the characters in cut scenes and as npcs you can chat with at the end was really nice. I don't know if it's just lucanis' romance or all of them, but i kept thinking i'd missed something b/c of how long they make you wait for private time alone with your partner (the parts we get are really good, don't get me wrong, it just made me wait FOREVER to smooch him or get more than burning looks lol). 100% worth it tho. will romance many more times probably

(aside: getting to have a rook who's got a body like mine and a flat chest and have another character look at them desirously was just gender euphoria really. like okay actually their chest is nicer than mine -i have to do more pushups- but STILL. THANK YOU BIOWARE FOR INCLUDING NON BINARY PEOPLE SO MUCH IN THIS NARRATIVE and integrating us so deeply in all the bits, not just pronouns and basic shit) Like it wasn't even before the first "final" mission but before teh for realskies final mission ish (and i got more dialogue towards the end too). Real Return of the King BUT WAIT there's more vibes with the end (past the point of no return warning). I wish there was a little bit more romance partner time in act 2 even if it was just vibing? I did get a lot of good companion banter about it which i love (i live for banter and the banter in this was so good) i think my biggest note is i didn't feel the music helped it that much? idk i wish they'd just gone with one of their previous composers so it felt more dragon age-y (the zimmer score felt a little generic except when it did reprises of previous dragon age themes). Sometimes it felt too bombastic and sometimes there was not enough, idk, it just didn't have quite the same feel. i did like that they reused the bard music from DAI in the cities, made me smile hearing the sera song esp. i also wish the approval/tone system was a little more like dragon age 2 where you got unique dialogue choices based on which you chose more. Also sometimes the "sassy" answer wasn't that sassy or felt mean, there felt like a little bit of a disconnect between what i would have expected from the choice and what was said. The approval system was a bit weird too - like there were no approvals early on and then suddenly people reacted to things (but it didn't seem to impact their bonds). It felt like that could have used more tweaking or been more obvious anyway. It also felt like it required your character to code switch when talking to different companions since some of them responded to the different tones differently- which felt really weird and a little clunky. I def wished for more of the DA2 style where your companions just accept that you are a fun or kind or straightforward and you can rp that for the whole game.

i really liked the art direction (tho i did sort of miss the persistent splatter gore) and loved all the companions! the story was overall pretty good tho it suffered from a few pacing issues early on (you could sort of tell it had been reworked a little bit and bits were still a bit weird- but tbh all the games suffer from this a bit).

the combat was fun! i wish the targeting was a little better (as i've mentioned) and toward the end of the game, i got some stuttering when a lot of things were hitting rook at once (so it wouldn't register my dodges correctly). I played as rogue rook and it was super fun, glad i went with my actual fave class on my first pt (i always think i should be a mage and then want to be a rogue so im glad i can finally be like no no, i love knives and arrows!) The optional bosses were the most fun/challenging. Finished the game with the poison squad ofc but most of the companions felt reasonably balanced when I had to use certain parties (i'd say the warriors felt the weakest in their skills, have to see how player warrior feels, rogue rook was awesome). i loved that you could refund your skill tree at any point for no cost and also that it explained the bits of the tree (bursty, control, etc) so you could work out your own build for it. I wish the super special rune you get for beating the optional questline wasn't presented as your last ditch effort thing- i got confused by this dialogue and was a little afraid to use it at first (i thought i'd have to use it at a particular time in a fight, but nah it was just a really good rune with a normal cd) Obviously there's still more questions (the "secret" post credits scene) and i kinda wanted a post credit party scene? Maybe if we're lucky we'll get one like we did for bg3 i'm pretty satisfied, already started some more rooks and ready to make some fan art! [im also pretty sure my first pt had the most bugs since i started it on release date and didn't get the starter quest achievements until my 2nd rook, so we'll see how it plays with war rook and mage rook)

so.. whenever there's group training and there's this tiny moment where enid and wednesday stand next to each other, enid would point out smth wrong about nightshades and wednesday would take it all in

"i didn't expect you to join such a tournament," wednesday says, her eyes staring right at enid's side profile. "Violence wasn't always your thing." nor were dark colors, is left unsaid, but it fits you anyways.

It wasn't an unpleasant sight.

The werewolf didn't look at her, she doesn't seem to do that nowadays and it has Wednesday taking a breath, slow and controlled to keep her heartbeat steady.

Then Enid's jaw tenses at her words and with it, wednesday's control. "I didn't expect you to come with them either so I guess we're both surprised." Her words are harsh, slipping through those fangs with such a venom that it has Wednesday faltering for a moment.

There's something about that tone, so reminiscent of a night from a year ago that leaves Wednesday breathless, not in a way where the pressure is just right but where something was quickly spiralling.

"what?" she asks.

It takes a second before Enid eyes finally meet with hers, "they're calling for you."

Wednesday looked away for just a second, noting the way her group came calling, grumbling and messy in dirt and grime.

When she looks back, Enid was gone.

So Enji's state of mind is a little unclear to me (probs cuz I can't remember how we decided he finds out about gay people. I think it's different for different AUs?). This explains SO MUCH," or does he have to like, sit and stew in his revelation for a few weeks to a few years?

Okay so the way it happens in the mainline Chaos Children universe is just. God I actually can't find the initial post.

So for one thing this is at the point in CC where Enji is already working on his nonsense. (things happen differently in this au so they find out Dabi=Toya during the Hideout Raid arc and that kicks his redemption arc in, plus the other kids kidnapping Toya back)

This whole thing kicks off because Shoto tries to come out as bisexual. (mostly because it'll be hard to hide given his partners are interacting with Enji for school/work/the whole goddamn war thing).

So he does that, and Enji is like 'what the fuck are you talking about??' and they explain that it means he finds both women and men sexually attractive and he's like "???? Everyone things men and women are sexually attractive what are you talking about???'

Which ob BOY the kids take a pause to unpack THaT.

But yeah it's a weird situation where he knew that he just assumed everyone was aware of the sexual attractiveness of both genders, but only male/female relationships existed because that's.... well he's never really seen any indication of the idea of same gender relationships(because he's oblivious as fuck sometimes) so he just. assumed that wasn't something done?

But yeah no they just kinda. Explain that people of the same gender can have a relationship. and also that there are different sexualities like some people don't find men attractive at all. Fuyumi uses herself as an example there because yeah just. Nope. No men. Enji is like "Seriously? Have you- have you seen men though??' which Natsuo is laughing at the situation like 'Sure have! Much better than women!" (So yeah he learns 3/4 but I'm not sure when he learns that it's 4/4?)

and yeah it's certainly a lot of things to process. and he even goes to work the next day and asks Burnin like 'did you know this was a thing??' and she just looks at him trying to process like "what.... what did you think I meant when I said I was taking lunch out to have a date with my girlfriend??" to which he's like 'idk don't girls call their friends 'girlfriends' sometimes?' and she's like 'okay fair point that's confusing totally made that mistake in reverse before and asked out a straight girl'.

On one hand it's a lot to process. On the otherhand! Not knowing that gay people exist means absolutely zero homophobia. and since he no longer cares about the damage to his reputation as a Hero and really does not feel much threat from general homophobes(seriously good luck trying to kick his ass).

He just. Rolls with it? Doesn't care on hiding it?

and yeah there's also the weird Midnight friendship happening somewhere during this and he brings this up to her like 'okay you know things you know about this how does any of it-' and ofc she's gonna dunk on him a little but also def gonna give him the rundown on All That™.

Rei also gets to learn about gay people but it's less in a 'she didn't know' and more a 'she expressed interest in a girl once and her parents told her that same-gender attraction wasn't real it's just something freak pervert sexual deviants do' so she shut it down for 30-odd years until she sees Toya and Hawks being affectionate and is like 'oh that's something to unpack in therapy'. (she knows her parents suck and unpacked some things on her own like their hatred of mutation Quirks and overall misogynistic gender roles, but

While it doesn't take /long/ for someone to bring up the trans stuff, it's not in the same conversation it's more like it comes up and everyone goes 'wait we explained gay people but do you know about trans people???'

Rei's reaction is ofc 'wait you can do that????' though he does have to spend a while sorting out if his feelings are transness or just underlying dislike of her gender via trauma.

Enji initially says he doesn't feel anything gender-wise but..... He does later admit that he really only considers himself 'male' because that's what he's 'supposed' to be? Like he's got a dick, he's always perceived as 'male' by everyone no one would mistake him for a woman, etc. But if those things don't determine your gender, then what does determine it? He has no idea. Which isn't exactly a 'cis' answer but he's not really giving much thought to finding a label.

What's Nana's relationship w/ her mom like? Are they close, or not so much?

This is gonna a long one just because things are...complicated.

In short, Nana and her mother love each other dearly. Her mother and her grandmother are basically the only family she has and she wouldn't trade them for anything.

But she'd def trade some of her mother's behaviors.

When they are on the same page, things are great! But her mother is the type of person is very nice so long as things go her way. And when Nana doesn't do as she wishes, there is often a debate. There's no shouting or yelling but heated words can be shared and they often end in Nana shutting down, leaving the argument with a cold shoulder towards her mother.

There's an apology afterwards once things have settled. But Nana hates that her mom can't just let her do her thing.

Longer lore dump explanation under cut...

Nana's mother can be over protective. Lore has a long and complicated history when it comes to human and nonhuman interactions. Lupines are near the top of the list of "bad" interactions due to many humans falsely believing them to be just the same as wolves themselves. This belief has no grounds aside from Lupines just sharing certain physical features and sharing a name referring to the animals themselves. But many humans in the past don't take the time to educate themselves and continue their unease toward Lupines.

Back when Nana's mother was younger and first met her father, the societal tensions between humans and magical beings weren't as lax as they sorta are now. Nana's mother has been through a lot. Like "being disowned by her own family for falling in love with a Lupine so she winded up being adopted by a fairy" a lot.

Because of this bumpy upbringing, Nana's mother grew up hardened. When Nana was smaller, she was still a bit of an optimist since her husband was there and he was practically a big ole puppy that made her forget about the cruel world around them.

But those happy days didn't last as Nana's father winded up losing his life after a scuffle with some hunters in the woods. Things got violent and their guns packed more heat than expected. To make things worse, Nana was with her father at the time and nearly winded up in the crossfire. THANKFULLY, her father had enough strength to keep her safe but it was basically his last act on Lore.

Ever since, her mother went from being hardened to be a complete rock. And with Nana being a young woman, having low vision, AND being a Lupine, she is constantly on edge with her roaming around by herself. Which, one can't really blame. The only comfort she has is that Nana is physically capable of protecting herself in a fight and has Granny watching over her, but she's a mother. Nana could be a literal god and she'd still worry.

It def gets on Nana's nerves but she understands her mother's rough past. So there wasn't much of a problem before the events of Beanstalked. She had a routine her mother was alright with. She'd roam the forest they call home, occasionally visit Granny, and visit Briar Patch from time to time.

But after Jack entered the picture, that norm has been disrupted. Which has led to a bit more head bumping between them.

Nana's mother isn't a fan of Jack. She doesn't hate him but she doesn't think he's capable of protecting Nana. This is, of course, going off the fact that Nana's mother has never seen Jack actually battle or seen how he acts when his eye go green. She simply views him as the farm boy with big puppy eyes for her daughter who is trying to be a hero but has no idea what he's doing.

She's more than fine with him wanting to play hero but the fact he managed to get her daughter involved in his shenanigans has her feeling uneasy. And that unease has shifted to full blown disturbance upon realizing her daughter has deeper feelings for the lad than simply "friendship". She knows what love does to the mind and she hates she can't stop it either because she went down the exact same path when she was Nana's age where she fell in love with a big puppy-eyed ball of sunshine. And with how that ended for her, Nana's mother doesn't feel any better about the blooming romance between the two due to her believing it to be doomed.

Nana doesn't like to hear all her mother's negative opinions about Jack. She knows he does the best he can and he has a good heart. She tries to speak up for him when he's not present but she tries her best not to cause an argument because she doesn't want her mother to relate Jack to being the cause for her "acting out".

In the end, what Nana wants is for her mother to let her live her life and branch out. And all Nana's mother wants is for Nana's to be safe.

But things between them continue to get lost in translation.

Let's just hope and pray that Nana's mother never finds out that Jack occasionally sneaks into her daughter's bedroom by climbing the tree outside Nana's window so the two can cuddle and smooch sometimes.

She wouldn't care that it was Nana's idea in the first place, that farm boy will be a dead man walking.

AAAAAANNND, I'M DONE! (o´▽`o) This one actually stumped me, hence the huuuuge gap between updates. And I honestly thought this one would be the shortest part out of the dorms since I don't favor this dorm too much. But it actually ended up being one of my longer ones. (￣▽￣*)ゞ

The rock part in Sebek's part was really a random idea I threw in. I think I read before in some work that Fae give rocks as courting gifts, but then again I might be mixing that up with another humaniod being. ┐('～`;)┌ But I like it, so I used it lolol. (o^ ^o)

I'm not gonna search for the post, but there's a post that circulated for a bit that said that you've got to leave your house and go do things and you'll be much happier if you'll go do things on weekends. Even if you think youd rather stay in bed, you've got to have fun interactions with people and enjoy yourself and that ups your quality of life. I reblogged it like getting the theory of it but that post was def directed towards people like me. I usually don't leave home for anything but school work and church. Well I had experiences the past two days and now I can testify to the veracity of that post as someone in the target audience I guess you could say.

I've never chosen to go to dances before really. I always felt like no one would ask me to dance & I wouldn't have courage to dance. Two friends invited to go with them to dances and out of nowhere I said frick it and went.

First was to a dance at college celebrating the first week of the semester. Went with my roommate. I don't know how to dance. I bsed it. I had fun. Didn't dance with anyone but it wasn't that type of a dance really. I had fun. Learned that dancing in heels means ouchy feet (only 2 inches btw). Wore an outfit I wasn't sure about due to lack of confidence. I got compliments for it. I came home smiling with my roommate. I was amazed that I enjoyed it.

Today a friend of mine (the former roommate I was super close to if anyone remembers) invited me to go to swing dancing with her (there's a venue that does it every Saturday). I said yes because I haven't seen her in a while. I didn't know how to swing dance. You can't bs swing dancing. People there are good. I had to sign a waiver since lifts are allowed. She gave me a quick crash course. Then I danced with guys. Some she asked for me to find a man that could teach me. Others did ask me. I asked a guy to dance with me for the first time in my life. I had fun. I now know the basics of swing dancing. I'm going back with her next Saturday. Her twin brother will come with us and he's really good and he'll teach me more. I loved it and found a new hobby I want to learn.

Look, as someone that usually stays at home, hardly talks to anyone, and even mostly stays in my room at the dorm, I'm saying that I've learned that it's important to go out and do things, even new things. I know we convince ourselves that it'll be better to stay in bed, that it isn't worth it to go out, that we'll be disappointed. Odds are you won't. People are nice. There are fun things to do. People are willing to teach you how to do said things. Just go and do something with friends, go to a school dance, to a concert, any event. You'll feel happier and maybe learn new things too!

and SO TRUE !! i spent my childhood online. like i was on forums and shit when i was 6 ( ꩜ ᯅ ꩜;) i was in a very very bad situation and escaping onto the internet made me feel better. i could pretend not to be from my home there. but so many years spent on the internet without anything in real life that was good really made me worse in a lot of ways - like ... the internet was the only place people ever listened to me, let alone interacting with me out of choice. in my home, i wasn't treated as a person. my parents didn't even really use my name, the name they gave me, until i was older. but online people would say "hi ghost! how was your day?" and it made me feel real. but now i feel more real online than offline... and if i am real IRL, then that means all the bad stuff that happened to me IRL did happen. so i just sort of mentally shut it all down and i wish i wasn't this way but my brain is protecting itself or something. that's what i'm told anyways.

i miss quotev i practically lived there. most of my system THRIVED there, with the RP groups we could pretend to be in character and then just be ourselves, people would address us as ourselves and it was so affirming and it felt amazing to finally exist and matter to someone. we have an alter who is basically all digital, so we often see ourselves like a little sprite traveling through 0s and 1s and pixels out into the wide web !! it's fun but sometimes very lonely.

Been seeing all this drayton angst and im EATING IT UP!!!!! gamefreak was really cooking when they put the guy from opelucid "blasted with a giant ice beam" city in the snow biome of the terrarium, in a previous post you said he'd be at BBA at the time of the attack but what if he wasn't? What if he was stuck in the frozen town? (maybe trapped in his frozen over house)

He chose to station himself in the polar biome as exposure therapy because oh boy! he does not do well in the cold despite what he says about it not bothering him

I imagine he had a similar response to the cold/ice types like anime!iris does but of course less humorously and more traumatically!

He'd def mask his fear of the cold/ice types w/ jokes n such before skedaddling away "just because I'm not bothered by the cold doesn't I wanna stay here, it's not the best place for napping ya know"

Real shit he and his fam would have some sort of trauma over ice and snow and even the cold now for real, for fucking real. Opelucid really got the brunt of Plasma's attack, and I know that Drayden, Iris, and his parents told him to stay put, to hide inside the house, within the warmer rooms, just so he'd be safe. And like, he's young during the attack probs, imagine how that'd mess him up too, having to hide within the safety of your home while your family is in the front lines trying to save not only your city but the entire region. His sis especially, Iris probs hunted Plasma down, and had to made sure everyone else in the region was safe

But imagine if he really went out tho to at least try to help, what good is his strength as a trainer if he won't help right? And god just,,, him seeing the state Opelucid is in, how some people were frozen to death, some were struggling to warm themselves even w their pokemon, and there's still some Plasma grunts roaming around. His grandfather was fighting tooth and nail against the grunts, and even Zinzolin. The Frigate wasn't even around anymore, and he knows Iris is probably hunted them down to stop them too

Imagine how that fucked him up tho, that even after everything was settled, he hasn't forgotten abt the deaths, abt how cold it was, how helpless they all were

He doesn't interact w the pokemon in the biome that much, he hates how cold it is there, he's scared they'd use any ice attacks on him too. It didn't help, it didn't fucking help, Dragon types are weak to Ice. One good thing is that his Archaludon's Steel typing made Ice neutral, but sometimes that doesn't reassure him. There's always that lingering fear y'know, that Plasma will show up again and maybe attack the region again and he dreads the thought of it.

And even better bc in my hcs, Iris has Kyurem, she was the one who got him, the one who kept him. And y'know, as much as Drayton loves his sis, he absolutely hates how she has the pokemon that ruined their city. He knows it wasn't Kyurem's fault, he knows that, if anyone's to blame it's Team Plasma, but yknow, it's Kyurem's powers that made Opelucid a frozen hell scape

Why do I think is very unfair to see Carrie as villain.

(Ok, this post will be not just as analytical but also as "little vent" for the reason of why do I think is not fair to see Carrie as villain. Here, you'll gonna see arguments, analysis and even evidences to prove my thoughts, so this the last warning: this post is my personal opinion. Don't take it as "Divine's Truth" for your life, especially when Carrie also has differences from many adaptations - so, leaving the warning, here we start..)

Well, since I had started to study way more about Carrie and join this community for a longer, if there's one argument that most get me nerves is how there's still people that genuinely think about Carrie as villain like Michael Myers or Jason Voorhees. I mean, I know that Carrie as one of main Stephen King's works has many adaptations that can difference from each one duo the time and technology - but I'll focus on 1976's one not just for being my favorite, but for also being such a classic always remind when we think of King's story.

And besides the movie having many things not explored like the book, but yet, the premisse was the same: A story about an outcast and telekinetic girl that suffers bullying at school and domestic abuse from her religious mother when in one night, a bucket drops her pig's blood and then, she becomes furious and turn the prom into a burning nightmare.

And now, I want to show you some evidences that why Carrie was innocent, even after the massacre:

1. Backstory:

The most things we know about Carrie is she grew up raised by her only mother and taught to follow a radical and extreme side from Christianity. Instead to learn the main part as faith, love and goodness, she was way more forced to concern about sin and purity culture - where even having a natural puberty was wrong and "blasphemous". And according to Margaret's lines, she used to be married by Ralph White, but after the "temptation", she got pregnant from her daughter and tried to "give back to God" for thinking as she got birth to an "Antichrist''.

About Ralph, we don't have any more information except that he ran away to another woman (And please, don't make me remember about ''Carrie 2'', because I rather to think as that cash grab as not existent.).

2. Her relation with Margaret White:

From the most scenes that we had their interactions, we can easily agree that they had everything except a real mother n' daughter relation. I mean, I believe that don't matter how conservative Christian you could be, you would never repeat the same fail as Margaret about never tell your daughter about period and how this kind one works. The impression that is obviously seen is Margaret is very unstable and abusive enough to have Carrie's care on her hands - I mean, there's a big difference between being a rough when necessary and other being very oppressive.

(In this scene, after Margaret learned that her daughter had her first period, she've punished by hitting with a book and making her to repeat religious lines like "The first sin was intercourse", while Carrie, poor girl.. first she kept asking about why hadn't Margaret never explained her about or tried to proof her innocence as she didn't sin..It wasn't your fault, dear.)

If your kid has an insane fear to ask for you even if it can have a little cookie from pot, then I'm sorry to say that you failed as parent. And don't let me to remember the times that she locked Carrie to pray for hours, threw her of probably hot tea or intentionally planned to MURDER her own daughter with a knife.

3. Her life as student:

What do I have to say? Always an outcast, bullied both for boys and girls, even when she had never given them a reason for. Most of them, even the adults itself, failed a lot - I mean, just on beginning, before even Miss Collins stopping the girls, we were already showed with all those pests laughing and throwing her pads and others things to a defenseless girl that was genuinely scared and probably not understanding the why it was happening and why were those stupid girls thinking ''so funny'' from that situation.

(This in my opinion, the worst scene - because once her mother never told her daughter before, in her mind, she genuinely thought as she was dying or severely hurt. I swear that the first time I saw it, I wanted to slap all those pests and cover Carrie with a towel and hug her to calm down and then, explain to her the blood.)

And before even we learning about Tommy and Sue, we already understood that Carrie was alone by herself, no friends because our poor girl never had anyone genuinely nice to treat her with a bit of respect, then it could even seen that the library was probably the only "safe world" she could seek to stay before return to her usual hell.

4. Her personality and emotions during the story:

Besides Carrie not being too spoken the whole movie, it wasn't too difficult to understand her own essence: she's innocent, sweet, sensitive, a type that she would be the most grateful person if someone even shared her a bit of his/her lunch. However, she lives a story where since her beginning, she had never learned which is love and how good is it to have someone in your side to give you affection. She's lonely, sad and scared.

(This how she looks the whole movie - like a rejected puppy on street.. )

Like, tell me, how it feels to live a life where you don't feel safe anywhere, you don't have anyone and yet, you get scared for not knowing if a person is being genuine or just planning you more one cruel joke? This how Carrie feels. She's just a baby that under good someone's hands, she would be able to heal from her demons, able to have better control on her abilities and able to even share a bit of love and gratitude she could express. I would say easily that Carrie White is like a "little animal" - if you care of this little animal by giving basic cares + affection, attention and a bit of training and you have the most loyal pet in your side that it will always be grateful to have such a loveable owner that showed it that is not every human bad and not every human that would just see the animals as trash or disposable toy.

5. The prom and after the disaster:

This part is which I think as the most evidence from her innocence. First, we have an excited Carrie preparing herself to have such a funny night to remember, once she was on last year from high school. But because a certain bitch like Chris Hangersen, it took many people's lives and this where we arrive to many people that really think Carrie as villain, and I'll gonna tell right now. In first place, all that Carrie wanted was just to have a funny night and nothing more than it. Second one, when Carrie activated her telekinesis, she had visions from everyone laughed and let's be honest, she had her limits. She was completely done to the whole shit she dealt for years and years, so when it happened, it's obvious it wasn't the ''real'' Carrie we know, but a figure from her response to this abuse. Who many of us already hadn't think or act by emotions from that especific moment and then, all of us regretted from how we behave? This which happened to Carrie. She was "blind" by her rage. And after the whole killing, we finally has when Carrie comes home and start to calm down, you can see by her eyes and see how shocked, disturbed and guilty she feels. And what about when she cried during the bathing tub?

Come on, it's pretty obvious that she was completely regretted for which she done. And if she had a help since from beginning, things like that could be worked different, but how she was always alone, this why things happened like we know..

And now, I'll give you guys a resume about which is a slasher and short study about how it works Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees:

First, "which is a slasher"? It's a genre that works about a teenagers group where the main villain will always kill these teenagers until it finally has a final fight between the main villain vs the final girl. And learning by classic slashers, we understand that sex is nothing allowed (like horror clichés) and the main villain can have a tragic past or not, the matter is he's always a threat for the victims. And here, we'll understand shortly about Michael and Jason.

Michael Myers:

Main villain from ''Halloween" series. By which we learned is as kid, he murdered coldly his older sister and for non-reason, then, he spent 15 years on Sanitarium and hadn't changed anything during these years of captivity and now, he escapes from this Sanitarium to get his sister back, Laurie Strode. Unlike Jason, he has already seen as real psychopatic, like, he murdered many innocents for years and hadn't felt any remorse or regret for all these Haddonfield's lives and as we understood, he doesn't show any signal of abuse or neglect that would justify his killings, which mean that he was already evil by nature and don't matter what, he would never stop being an evil incarnation. In others words, this why he deserves to be called as villain.

Jason Voorhees:

Main villain from "Friday the 13th" series. While Michael was already evil, even as young boy, here, we hava a bit of explanation from Jason's past - He had born with several deformities, both physically and mentally and as kid, he used to be cruelly bullied by others camper kids until he got drowned by "death", now we move to 1979's, when now as adult, he "came back" to life and give revenge by murdering any teens that used to make exactly the teens from late 1950s like smoking or hanging out. Here we have a tragic figure, where even dealing with jerk bullies, Jason's way more motivated by revenge and rage - even if those teenagers hadn't give any reason unlike Jason's bullies, he was so traumatized that lost any logic to understand that those new teens aren't the same ones, he already hates all of them and there's nothing that would save him from this distorted rage.

As we've learned, one had tragic past and other was already evil. But which both has in common? Even if they had reasons or not, they still killed innocent people and were okay with it. They didn't care about nothing except to dirty his hands on blood CONSCIOUSLY - they were evil and this how they'll always be. And do you want more example? Jennifer Check from "Jennifer's Body".

On "Jennifer's Body", besides Jennifer being cruelly sacrificed by those band guys, she still could be seen as "villain" because even now as succubus, she looked pretty comfortable to the fact that now she has demon powers to keep attractive and kill all boys as wishes. She had never felt sorry to the fact that she can kill all of them and then, eat their bodies but instead, she was way more bad for no longer has Needy in her side, which also gives a high fact that even being everything that any outcast would wish to be, she still wanted Needy because not just her high insecurity but for actually, having a real crush for her best friend. There's no way that kiss could also be as just a ''joke".

And returning to Carrie White, after looking by her backstory and seeing others examples from others horrors, we can conclude that Carrie isn't actually a horror, but a drama thriller, because even her having telekinesis, you don't want to run away from her, you don't feel scared for her and neither want to kill her by protect yourself like you would want for Jason or Michael. Instead, it's Carrie that would feel more scared for you first, because she doesn't know you and unless you have her trusting, you're her threat like the world itself. And this why I believe Carrie's innocent and not a villain. (And she doesn't deserve to be seen as villain.).

I think the moment Meliodas finally kills Dale is a real turning point in the series. Before this, he had not killed a single opponent. He just fought to disarm and incapacitate. Just the next episode, he tells ban and gowther to "go straight for the kill" against the holy knights. As we see throughout the rest of the series, even before his emotions get caught in purgatory, he no longer feels hesitant to kill. He only becomes more and more like himself from the time of the Holy War (post 10 commandments). This is why I love his character sm, a corruption arc (even if he is never truly evil) is just so rare and one this good and angst filled is even rarer.
