All the problems with HSMTMTS:

I keep getting asked question on what happened in the fandom, and what is going on against all of the s*xual assault allegations against J*shua and T*m. This is going to be the post where I lay out all that I know of and inform the tumblr fandom on it because not all of you are on Twitter, and Tumblr is literally the heaven amongst fandoms. After this post, I’m DONE talking about this show and being apart of this toxic group. Along with talking about the s*xual assault allegations, I will also be addressing the issues during the BLM movement and other crap that not only the cast and crew have been a part of, but also the fandom itself. Let’s dig in.

Sidenote: I really don’t want any hate, I’m just trying to be open with you guys and inform you all. Also, I’m doing my best to remember everything, so if there is something that you want to know more on then please just message me personally cause I’m seriously SICK of discussing it publicly.

Not eveything in the fandom is due to JUST the cast and crew. This fandom is FULL of very toxic and creepy people.

A few months ago, someone (a grown women) who was overly obsessed with Olivia hacked into her grandfather’s account to turn it into a fan page to get undercover information on Olivia, as well as getting information on where Olivia lived. This grown women has also done some other seriously inappropriate things. If you want to learn more about the sketchy things that this women has done than you can go to Twitter and look it up.

There are always ship wars in fandoms, but this one takes it WAY too seriously. I’ve seen people get attack on their looks just for being a part of a ship. The ones that are heavily abusive are Rina vs Rini, Seblos vs CJ, and redlyn vs Redky. It has cause people to leave the fandom due to how bad the attacking got. On Tumblr, everyone’s pretty open about ships, but on twitter it is a literal battle field.

Disgraceful people still continue to ship the actors instead of the characters. J*livia and J*fia is what I’m going to talk more closely about. (First, josh is a grown adult and both Sofia and Olivia are minors, please unfollow me if you don’t see anything wrong with that). Sofia had to delete a few of her tik toks after one with Joshua went viral and people wouldn’t stop shipping her and him in her comments. Like one video she did, the caption was “I want a boyfriend” and people assumed they were dating and wouldn’t stop tagging him in her videos. As for Olivia, people have been shipping them since the beginning of the show. Fan accounts on all platforms have dedicated their time to this. I don’t necessarily remember if Sofia or Olivia came out saying that they were uncomfortable when they got shipped with their cast mates, but it started causing drifts between the actors because of this and Joshua wasn’t featured in any of Sofia’s videos after that and Olivia didn’t post as much as she use to with him. It goes to show that shipping actors makes things awkward and strained within their personal relationships. DONT DO THIS!

A person stating that they were friend’s with Olivia came out to expose Joshua of being a bad boyfriend after she tells everyone that Olivia and Joshua has been secretly dating during the press tour of HSMTMTS. There was clever evidence that showed they were dating and the girl came out with multiple receipts, and even went so far as to go on Instagram live to speak on the matter. But she then came out stating that it was false and she only wanted some attention. Apparently she was a j*livia stan. I can’t find anything on twitter about it anymore, since I’m pretty sure eveything was deleted. This can ruin people’s careers and I don’t know why anyone could think it’s okay.

There are genuinely a lot of creepy adults that roam around in the HSM fandom. On twitter, there would be grown adults writing in detail how the kissing scene between Joshua and Olivia made them feel. People continue to post the gif of Nini and Ricky kissing and write out why it’s so important to them. People have taken that kissing scene and literally turned it into nasty and inappropriate sm*t on AO3 and Wattpad. Note once again that these characters are minors and it’s NEVER okay to write inappropriate stories about children. Grown adults need to be held accountable for their actions if this is how they’re acting.

Some parts of the fandom genuinely hate on both Sofia and Olivia for literally nothing. Just jealousy between their ships, and because of it, they think it’s okay to to personally attack the actresses on their looks and where they are in there careers. People continuously pin Olivia and Sofia against each other, like for example people bashing Olivia for not being as successful as Sofia, or Sofia being bashed because she doesn’t have the same singing career as Olivia. It’s once again, DISGUSTING!

This one is more about Disney and then not doing their part. Disney cut out the majority of Seblos’ scenes, which caused a lot of turmoil within the fandom and why Seblos felt unattached and awkward while they were together in all of their scenes after the dance episode. People called out Disney and said they they shouldn’t have put Seblos in if they weren’t going to go full out with it.

Onto the cast and the crew:

Kate (miss Jenn) got a lot of hate for exposing that Frankie (Carlos) and Joe(Seb) are in an actual real life relationship without asking them for their consent to tell the world. Don’t know whether they had spoken about them being in a relationship or not, but Kate didn’t speak on it after that either.

A video came out a few days ago of the cast taking cast pictures during their tour, and Mark (Mr. Mazzara) was standing beside Sofia in which it looks like his hand was rubbing Sofia’s lower back, and she seemed uncomfortable. I’m not sure if it’s a stretch or not because the video is super blurry and it’s hard to kind of see their faces, but you can clearly see his hand go behind her back. Personally for me, I didn’t notice anything too alarming, but you’d have to see for youself. I won’t be posting that and instead you can dm me personally and I’ll send you the link to the video.

A past comment of Joshua’s was exposed in which he is saying the F slur. #joshuabassettisoverparty was trending world wide on Twitter, with people wanting him off the show. He has apologized for it since then, but not many ever forgave him and it was just really his young girl audience that came to his defense, even though it wasn’t their apology to forgive. People that only stan him because he is a cute cis white male didn’t see the problem in what he had said, and kept saying that he was young and that it’s not a reason for us to hate on him, but he was only 17 when he said that, and it’s no excuse. Personally to me, his apology was super bland and he didn’t address it personally on his Twitter, but instead replied to a post saying he’d do better. Here’s what he had said:

Joshua also went on a live in which he said “boys, gals, or whatever” People accused him of being transphobic and enbyphobic. Others think that his words were being blown out of proportion. Here is that video:

I found it to be very ridiculous and rude that he doesn’t follow anybody on twitter or tik tok. On a live video, Julia said something about him not following her, and he just says that he doesn’t follow anybody and she shouldn’t take it personally. Honestly not that big of a deal, but it’s still shows pitifullness and arrogancy. Don’t know what his contract looks like with whatever agency he’s with, but maybe they’re just strict on that, but idk.

People hate on Matt (EJ) for being republican. He hasn’t done anything problematic or said anything out of offense, so for me he’s good. UPDATE: Turns out, Matt is friends with Benjamin Lawson Adams, a convicted pedophile. Here’s a brief statement in what happened:

He worked for the Weinstein company, so no surprise there. His arrest happened in May 2016, and his license was suspended to practice Law in July of 2018. If Matt knew what was best for him, he would stop having any and all associations with this dude.

That’s all I can think of on situations not regarding the s*xual assault allegations or the BLM movement. But there’s probably so much I’m missing. I’m going to make a part 2, cause the next half is too long to post here as well. I’ll label it #exposinghsmtmts so others are able to see it.

Starting Over Chapter 25 ~The Not So Wee Misunderstanding~

Geillis and Claire were sat in the waiting area of the A&E holding each other's hands. The doctor assured them, to their relief, that uncle Lamb had suffered only a severe case of indigestion, but they needed to do more test and find out why he'd collapsed outside his apartment. Claire surmised uncle Lamb must have thought he was having a heart attack and had decided to settle himself on the floor where he was more likely to be found. Uncle Lamb was clever and practical like that. Except of course for instances when he refused to have a mobile phone, and it frustrated the hell out of Claire whenever she couldn't reach him.

"Good ol' Lamby is going to be just fine," Geillis reassured her, squeezing her hand.

"Of course. Uncle Lamb is a tough cookie," Claire agreed, nodding. "I can almost see him fretting about all the fuss once he finds out he's only had indigestion. It's a good thing they're looking him over. He's far too stubborn to go and see a doctor or let me check him when something's not right. I worry sometimes."

"Aye, and not to mention, he gave us a hell of a scare!" Geillis added, clucking her tongue.

"That he did, indeed."

Geillis shook her head in amusement and checked her phone. "Still no answer from Joe. But dinnae fash lass ...he will see our message soon. He's usually always checking his Twitter account."

Meeting her eyes for the first time since they'd left the club, Claire gave her a small smile. "Thank you, Geillis."

She huffed. "For what?"

"For being such a great friend. For jumping into the taxi and coming with me without a second thought." Claire's eyes began to water, but she had a small grin on her face. "I'm sorry you're missing out on chatting up some cute guys in the club."

"Ach, ye would've done the same for me," Geillis remarked with a wave of a hand. "Jamie would be miffed though when he finds out ye're missing. But I'm pretty certain he'll understand. Lamby is yer family." Geillis gave her a dimpled smirk. "And save those tears for Jamie when he gives ye a hard time for running off just like that. He'll be out of his mind knowing ye're here at Frank's workplace."

Claire laughed nervously. "About that ...Jamie told me Frank is suspended from work and under investigation by the board. He even suggested I can probably come back and finish my residency program here." She sighed. "Jamie's lawyer is compiling a case against him so he wouldn't be able to hurt me in any way anymore. Frank will probably just end up going back to England to save face."

Geillis let out a huge breath. "I can so see Frank doing that. The board might be mostly his friends, but those hoity-toities wouldn't want to be dragged into his legal problems. Joe told me, Jamie's lawyer is a beast in court, and he'll pull all the stops to win. And ye have a solid case, and there's a picture of Frank attacking ye from those reporters who were lurking outside yer house. Frank's cronies will probably advise him to move to save himself from a full-blown scandal, especially now that they ken ye have the media's full attention because ye're with Jamie. Ye ken what Frank is like ... he's all about maintaining that clean image."

"Jesus, I wish it didn't have to come to this. I don't want Frank to lose his licence. He's too much of a brilliant doctor."

Geillis put an arm around her. "Dinnae feel sorry for him, hen. He made his own bed ...ye ken what they say. Just think of all those years Frank made ye miserable. Sometimes I wished it had been me who threw the vase at his smug face."

Claire laughed. "Enough of that talk," she gently chided. "Any news from the lads yet?"

Geillis had left Joe several messages earlier that explained where they were and what had happened and asked him to call back before charging into the hospital. It was Joe's night, and Claire didn't want them worrying or ending their celebration. Nor did she want Jamie to leave the party abruptly when there was nothing he could do at the hospital.

Geillis shook her head. "He's no' picking up. I left him five voicemails already. I'm sure he'll get back to me when he sees it."

So they settled down in their seats, grabbed a couple of magazines left lying about and browsed while they waited.

After two hours, uncle Lamb was wheeled out, ready to be taken home.

And after all this time, there was still no call from Jamie or Joe. So they decided to take uncle Lamb home and help him settle for the night.

It was 2:00 AM, and uncle Lamb persistently refused to go to bed. After they all arrived at his apartment, much to Claire's mounting frustration, her uncle immediately went to his study to go through some paperwork. Resigned, she and Geillis sat in the kitchen drinking herbal teas, the alcohol from earlier already wearing off.

Claire's thoughts drifted to Jamie, getting more worried that Joe hadn't responded back. At first, she thought maybe Joe had lost his phone, but then Geillis had already left two messages on Jamie's number after she'd given it to her. Perhaps they're all too drunk and having too much of a great time to realise they're missing.

"Ye're staying here for the night?" Geillis asked in-between bites of shortbread cookies. "If ye are, ye willnae be able to charge yer phone."

"I'll stay here for the night, and I'll just have to do without a phone. You already sent a message to Jamie and Joe we're here with uncle Lamb. No need to chop and change and confuse them unnecessarily, especially if they had a lot to drink."

"Weel, then if ye're staying here, I better get going soon ..."

"It's late Geillis. You can stay. There's plenty of room. And I have a few clothes here you can borrow."

Geillis shook her head and smiled. "Thanks but no thanks. I like my own bed. I'll finish my tea, and then I'll go."

"Uncle Lamb makes a mean fry-up, and he's got proper coffee," Claire proffered, making a funny face at her friend.

Geillis laughed. "Aye, he does too. The breakfast is tempting, but I have a few gigs coming up for a back to back children's party, and I really need to organise that tomorrow."

"Fine, let's finish up and get you a taxi. I'm getting tired, myself."

They were just washing down their butter cookies with tea when the phone on the table began to vibrate non-stop. Thinking it could Joe or Jamie, Geillis quickly swiped the screen.

Claire apprehensively watched her friend's face changed from eagerness to read the message to utter shock. "What? What is it? Is it Joe?"

"Holy Mother of God! My friend just messaged me. Ye're never gonnae believe this," she muttered, furiously swiping the screen. "There's a photo of ye circulating in Twitter saying ye left the club hastily because Jamie was caught cheating on ye. Someone must have recognised ye at the club, took a picture and posted it ..."

"Oh, bloody hell!" Claire bristled, raising her hand in the air in frustration. "Turn that off, Geillis. Jamie was right. I shouldn't read what's written about him online. People will always translate a photo into something that's not. Let them speculate. By the time weekend is over, Jamie's fans will be onto something else."

"B-but ..." Geillis face had turned red.

"What?!?"

Geillis handed her the phone.

Claire glanced at the grainy photo of Jamie with Morag leaning close to his ears as if she was whispering something, and she enlarged it to get a better look. She shrugged and thought nothing of it as it had been evident from the start, blondie was openly throwing herself at her boyfriend. Then she read the comments, skimming through every hashtag about Jamie.

Jamie Fraser getting cosy with a blonde who is most definitely not his girlfriend.

Already trouble in paradise for new couple Fraser/Beauchamp.

Poor Beauchamp left the club crying.

We all know how the saying goes: "A leopard can't change its spots."

And then more photos began to emerge, and what she saw next, she definitely didn't like. "Jesus H. Roosevelt Christ ...I swear to God I'm going to cut off his balls and make Haggis out of it!!"

"Hey, buddy, wake up!"

Joe?

Jamie tried to push through the haze and open his eyes, but the mounting pressure on his skull was like a balloon slowly being inflated under his cranium. Efforts to move, to breathe or to think, made the ache in his head ebb and flow like a cold tide and caused nausea to tumble in waves.

He felt deft fingers pressed the pulse on the side of his neck and heard the scuffling of shoes.

"I think we should get him to the hospital or call the emergency," an unfamiliar voice said.

"I'm a doctor. He'll be alright. Can you get him a bottle of water please?"

Joe's calm response soothed him. Knowing he was in good hands, Jamie began to relax and tried to slip back into the depths of unconsciousness where his head didn't hurt. Joe had been his former rugby team's doctor and had mended him countless of time during sporting injuries. Without question, Joe would take care of him.

He felt a light tap to the side of his face. "Jamie, I need you to wake up. Can you hear me?"

He forced his eyes open. "W-what? ..." he rasped, the brightness of the light above him hurting his brain.

"Alright, easy now, buddy," Joe hushed, helping him sit upright.

He squinted at Joe's worried face, and then slowly scanned his surroundings. He was half-lying on the club's sofa in the VIP room. Through the glass wall, he saw Willie and Rabbie talking to a distressed-looking Morag and the bouncer. The place was lit, the music low and all the clubbers were gone except for the staff who were busy clearing up. He jolted up, and the sudden movement brought a stabbing pain to his head.

He groaned out loud. Christ Almighty, how much did I have to drink?

Joe took the cold bottle of water from the bartender, opened it and gave it to him. "Here, drink this first."

Nodding gratefully, Jamie took the bottle, pressed it against his temple before drinking the whole thing to the last drop. He slumped back and grimaced. He felt like he had been run over by a truck. "Where's everyone else?"

"How do you feel?" Joe asked, ignoring his question and taking the empty bottle from his hand and placing it on the nearby table.

"I feel like shit," Jamie muttered. Then he looked up when Willie and Rabbie walked into the room. They didn't look any better than he did. "Where's Claire?"

"Listen," Joe cut in before Willie or Rabbie could say anything. "How about you go to the bathroom first and splash some cold water to your face? And then we'll talk."

Jamie frowned. "Joe," he said in a low voice. "I asked where Claire is."

There was a long silence as Jamie watched his brothers and Joe gave each other a knowing look. Why couldn't they just give me a straightforward answer for fuck sake? Jamie began to worry as his breath got caught in his chest and knew fear for Claire's safety was rapidly gaining in on him.

"Oh for crying out loud! I asked a simple question! Where is Claire?" Jamie pressed, hoping that their behaviour had to do with Claire having had too much to drink and wanted to hide it from him. "I swear to God if I..."

"She's with Geillis!" Rabbie finally said, throwing his hands in the air like he was annoyed or something.

The look Willie and Joe gave Rabbie didn't go unnoticed. Straightening himself up, Jamie gave them all a warning look. "And where are they?" he demanded, raising his voice a notch, even though it hurt his head to do so.

"Look before anything else," Joe began, "We have a bit of problem we need to address. I think your drink has been spiked. In fact, I'm a hundred per cent sure your drink was spiked."

What the fuck?

"What?!? What do ye mean spiked?" he shouted, shakily pushing himself up to his feet and ignoring the sharp pain that shot through his brain. He faced Willie, who seemed to be looking at him oddly. "Where is Claire? Why isn't she here? Please tell me I didn't do anything stupid," he said in a low voice to his brother. Please, please let Claire still be here! But Willie's face was already telling a totally different story.

"What was the last thing ye remember?" Willie asked calmly, searching his face.

Jamie cudgelled his brain, trying to think back, but something was off. Where there should have been recollections was a blank space, like a white wall bereft of photographs. What the hell was the last thing I remember? He remembered entering the private room with Claire and the rest of the group. He remembered Geillis coming to take Claire away and watching them head to the main bar. He hadn't liked the looks from men that followed them, but Claire seemed oblivious and so happy. He also remembered refusing the champagne given to them by the club, opting for a bottle of water instead. And then Morag came in with someone in tow. Fuck! That was it? That was all he remembered, and after that was nothing.

Jamie shook his head, hoping the action would clear some of the cobwebs in his addled brain. "I remember everything up to ye giving me grief for drinking water, and Joe ordering whisky and then Morag coming in with someone behind her. But that's it. The rest is blank."

"That's it?" Willie asked, running a hand through his hair.

"Aye. The rest I cannae remember."

"Sit down," Willie ordered.

Jamie hesitated at first but did as he was told. He plopped down on the sofa and massaged his temples, steeling himself for whatever was next.

"It was Forbes that came in with that blonde hostess," Willie explained.

Jamie's head shot up. "What? What was he doing here?"

"Shut up and listen, will ye," Willie barked. "When ye asked Forbes what he was doing here, he said he'd seen Claire and thought to go looking for ye. He apologised for his behaviour at the awards, and then ye both shook hands. And then Forbes insisted on ordering a round of drinks as a peace offering. When both of ye started to talk shop, we all got up and headed to the dance floor to meet some lassies, and Jen and Ian left." Willie looked at Joe. "Want to take it from here, mate?"

Joe nodded, taking the seat opposite Jamie and bracing his elbows on his knees and clasping his hands. "After a while out there at the main bar, I started to wonder where Geillis and Claire were. Rabbie and I looked everywhere, and we couldn't find them. We even checked the ladies' room. So I pulled out my phone and realised I had missed calls from Geillis. She left a voice message saying she and Claire had gone to the Royal Infirmary because Quentin was taken ill and that Claire's phone battery had died. Since it was an emergency and the club was crowded, they've decided not to waste time and took a taxi. They didn't know how serious the situation was, and Claire wanted to be by her uncle's side without further delay. Geillis instructed me to relay the message to you as soon as possible. Knowing you would want to know immediately, I came here at once and saw ..." He jerked a thumb towards the main bar outside and swallowed hard. "...blondie sat on your lap. It looked like you two were making out. Her hands were all over you."

"What?!?" Jamie's eyes widened in shock, and his heart began to pick up speed, hammering so hard he thought his chest would burst. He got up from the sofa and clenched and unclenched his hands, unsure what to do with them. He noticed the bartender from earlier had already slipped out of the room, and Rabbie unusually quiet, was sitting with his head bowed. "Are ye all messing with me? This better be a fucking joke!" he roared. When no one replied, he clasped his hands behind his head. "Oh, fuck, fuck, fuck! I wouldnae! I swear to God, I didnae. I wouldnae do that to Claire!" He picked up a whisky tumbler that was on the table and threw it at the glass wall, bleakly watching it smash into pieces. That's when he saw Morag being escorted out of the club by the bouncer.

"Jamie for fuck sake! We believe ye!" Rabbie finally spoke up, making Jamie spin around and look at his younger brother. "I was right behind Joe when we saw that lass in yer lap. Ye didnae look like you were doing anything except leaning back and looking daze. But she was all over ye and Forbes was gone. The look in yer face made Joe realised yer drink was spiked. Ye didnae look yersel', and ye were muttering, Sassenach. Even if ye werenae with Claire, ye wouldnae have made out at a place like this. I was about to punch the daylights out of ye, but Joe convinced me ye were acting weird. As soon as I asked the lass what the hell she was doing, she just jumped up from yer lap and left the room. Willie and I warned her already that if we found out she had something to do with spiking yer drink, she'll never work in Edinburgh again."

Jamie absorbed what his younger brother just said and let out a sigh of relief. He didn't know what he would have done if his own family and Claire's best friend accused him of cheating on his lass. "Have ye tried calling Geillis again?" he asked Joe, calmly this time, his breathing and heart rate somewhat back to normal.

Joe winced, and Jamie didn't like the look. "Yes we've tried several times, but there's no answer. And..." he added hastily as if afraid Jamie would explode all over again. "I tried Claire's phone too just in case she managed to charge it up. But no answer as well. They're at Quentin's apartment now. The last update I got, he suffered severe indigestion mistaking it for a heart attack. I'll keep calling, and maybe ...meanwhile, you can head ..."

"Tell him the rest of the story," Willie said in a solemn tone.

"What rest of the story?" Jamie glanced between the three of them.

Rabbie sucked in his breath and grimaced as Willie's face remained impassive.

Joe gave Willie and Rabbie a look of exasperation. "Fine, I'll tell him." Then he turned to Jamie. "A photo of you and blondie has already leaked out on Instagram and Twitter, and some moron with a fake account tagged you. It's only a matter of time before the news outlet gets hold of it and they ran the story of you cheating. We reckon it was Forbes who spiked your drink after catching on blondie having the hots for you and took the pictures. That man is a snake and is set to ruin you. We should have thrown him out when he came in here and ..."

Before Joe could finish his sentence, Jamie was already out the door. He needed to find Claire and sort this mess out. He didn't want to wait the following day because there was the possibility if he did, it would be too late.

Jamie rang the doorbell of Claire's uncle's apartment. He figured Claire and Geillis would still be up after reading what's been going on the social media. To his surprise, he was immediately buzzed in. By the time he reached Quentin's floor, the apartment door was open, and Claire's uncle was in the hallway waiting for him.

"Quentin, ye're alright. Thank God." Jamie had been expecting resistance, anger and probably at the least, Quentin's disapproving look. But there was none of that. He'd come prepared already bracing himself for the retribution that he expected to come his way. But there was nothing.

"Yes, yes. Just indigestion. Must have been the curry takeaway I'd eaten," Quentin dismissed with a wave of his hand. "I suppose you're here for my niece."

Jamie swallowed hard. "Aye, is she still here?"

"She's asleep already. Come in, come in, I have the kettle on for tea."

Jamie warily followed the older man inside and closed the door behind him. "Ye're not by any chance making stock at this time of the morning are ye?" he asked.

Quentin laughed. "No, don't be daft," he replied, leading the way to the kitchen. "I'm just about to crush some walnuts, and while I'm at it, ye can tell me what the hell is going on."

Jamie winced at his reply the moment he saw a handful of walnuts in a ziplock bag on the kitchen counter, all ready to be crushed with a hammer.

Inspired by doctortwhohiddles' excellent post!

Here's my contribution to answering @thoroughlyskeptic...

-sending threatening asks to anyone who likes a blog’s posts, even when unrelated to the fandom : I've never seen any of these so-called "threats" either. But I have seen Haters threaten Sophie with harm. I have seen Haters try (and sometimes REPEATEDLY try) to follow anti-hate blogs - has happened repeatedly to me. And I have REPEATEDLY told them I don't mind them reading my blog (unless they become abusive, which a few of them have, so I have had to block them... but only a handful) but I don't allow known Haters to be followers of my blog.

And YES Aeltri HAS a habit of jumping all over positive posts about Sophie and Ben (so have other Haters), especially on her Twitter account! She literally went into a Twitter rage during the Flourishing Diversity event, calling Sophie a whore, cunt and a criminal!

-ostracizing someone for saying ANYTHING not completely positive about your Queen : NOT ostracizing - just NOT letting them get away with sneaky, hypocritical behaviour... having their "Sherlock/Ben fandom" cake, and yet all the while supporting and enabling disrespect and hatred for Ben, his wife and his children.

All I want from these people is honest TRANSPARENCY. If you are going to show total disregard and respect for Ben's choice of wife and their children, then at least own your petty hatred. Don't sneak around the fandom pretending to respect BC. Just come clean and stop pretending to be something you're NOT! The most likely motivation for these people to HIDE their true nature is NOT fear - it's done because they are ASHAMED of their hatred and don't want others to know about their pettiness and small-mindedness. BTW most anti-hater bloggers don't care if someone doesn't LIKE Sophie - all they care about is that they don't spread HATRED AND FILTHY LIES ABOUT HER, BEN AND THEIR CHILDREN!

-blocking people and DEMANDING others block them too, if they don’t follow your “rules�� : I don’t ever remember anyone DEMANDING that someone block a Hater either. I ABSOLUTELY remember telling Haters that unless they UNFOLLOWED ME I would block them from MY blog because I don't allow Haters to follow my blog. But if they did unfollow me I DON'T BLOCK THEM. And I remember other blogs saying the same thing... but demanding others block them... nope!

-DOXXING : I think Gator PURPOSELY misuses the term "doxxing". She KNOWS that she and other Haters have exposed personal info on the internet and then she cries about doxxing when she want to play the victim card.

And I remember all too clearly that it was GATOR AND AELTRI who tried VERY hard to publish personal information about someone's address on their blogs (thank goodness they're complete incompetents and they got it wrong).

-MAKING MULTIPLE SOCK PUPPET BLOGS TO DOXX : Oh please, Aeltri is the fucking QUEEN of sockpuppet accounts!

-POSTING A MAP TO SOMEONE’S PERSONAL HOME TRYING TO INCITE OTHERS TO HARASS : Ditto to Doctortwhohiddles response! As for inciting others to harass... that's practically a national pastime for the hater crowd on Twitter!

-having people blocked from other chat sites : just show us ANY real evidence of this! If it has happened (I don't visit chat sites) these people probably decided to block Haters because their obsessive insulting of Ben's wife and their children more in likely disrupted the chat.

-trying to have blogs on Tumblr shut down JUST BECAUSE YOU DON’T LIKE THEM : No, it's not just because we don't LIKE them... PLENTY of Hater blogs exist and no one reports them EVER. The few that are reported are ones like Aeltri who post outrageous hatefilled and dangerous comments. Like the latest diatribe from Aeltri stating that people SHE labels "defective infrahuman subspecies" be FORCIBLY STERILIZED! Is it any surprise that some are HORRIFIED by this and demand that some restrictions be put on this kind of hateful talk?

-TRYING TO GET PEOPLE BANNED FROM EVENTS : like Doctortwhohiddles said this is specifically about ONE person... Aeltri - and that was a case of due diligence because Aeltri was hell bent on seeing BC in person and all that was done was notify the organizers of the event about who she REALLY WAS and THEY decided to take that action to protect Ben. Honestly, what did you expect them to do once they read Aeltri's blog??? Welcome her with open arms? AELTRI GOT HERSELF BANNED FROM THAT EVENT BECAUSE OF HER OWN BEHAVIOUR on her blog!

TRYING TO GET PEOPLE FIRED FROM THEIR JOBS : Well the one that comes to mind where someone had proof of it actually happening is when a person published the incident in full on the XOJane site. And that was someone who was HARASSED BY A HATER because they posted that they had seen a pregnant Sophie with Ben. As for the Haters being hounded by others... never seen ANY proof or FULL accounting given - just accusations slung out by Haters and NO receipts EVER given! The XOJane incident... I remember reading the tweets AS IT HAPPENED, so I KNOW the harassment took place. Sooooo, who are the bullies???

-SENDING THREATENING LETTERS TO THEIR HOUSE : Just post the letters please! Otherwise it's just more imaginary delusions of the Aeltri ilk - "Sophie is making PHONE CALLS to me and hanging up!! Sophie has been making harassing phone calls to me PERSONALLY!! Sophie is HAVING ME WATCHED!! She's READING my blog!! She's hiring people to harass ME!" Sure Jan!

-SAYING YOU WANTED PEOPLE WHO DON’T AGREE WITH YOU TO DIE HORRIBLE DEATHS : Well, let's look at the timeline, shall we? If I recall correctly it was the Haters who started that sort of shit talk.

THEY were the ones who started with talking incessantly about harming Sophie, slapping her at events like red carpets and Letters Live, and then that escalated quickly into wishing her to have a "sad life event" (dead baby), wanting her to miscarry, saying they wanted to punch her in the belly to PROVE her pregnancy was a sham, posting photoshopped pics of her being run over by a train, posting allegorical pictures of dead octopuses (because their nickname for her was "octopus"), and then finally this culminated in Gator's horrible "warning" post to Ben about how he, Sophie and the children would be killed for PR. So, who wins the "Horrible Death Wish Crown"???? I think it's the Haters hands down!

And this doesn't even touch all the other vile lies that certain Haters have been spewing out over the years including accusing Sophie of sex trafficking, being a drug addict and a prostitute, killing and eating babies (!!) in satanic rituals (!!!), torturing Ben by scaring his head with secret cult brands, starving him to kill him, poisoning him... all under the guise of just partaking in innocent celebrity "gossip"!

So, the question is - why should we believe ONE FUCKING WORD ANY HATER SAYS if they readily partake in this sort of outrageous discourse?

Let's stack up THIS kind of rhetoric the Haters use ON A REGULAR BASIS, against the reactions of some people who are absolutely disgusted by the blogs of Haters, and see who has a CREDIBILITY PROBLEM, shall we? I don't think the Haters would come out on top!

Blank Space - Episode 1.

Okay, here’s the first episode of the thing I wrote.

Episode 1 - Hold Up

''Hold Up, they don't love you like I love you.''

On the outskirts of the town of Caernarfon in North Wales there was a little farm that belonged to a Aloisius and Helen Ward-Prowse a lovely couple that had made a living out of selling sheep's wool. Around their lovely house there were pictures of two raven haired children: tall and muscular yet inexpressive Clint, and Amanda, the lively and expressive girl that was slowly becoming a grown woman. Amanda Ward-Prowse was the darling of his parents and the soft spot of her strong and mighty brother. But it wasn't as if she needed protecting. as she could take care of herself perfectly well. Sometimes she was more intimidating than her rugby player brother. At 25, Amanda was an accomplished actress that could presume of having moderate success as in many Shakespeare plays but still hadn't had the chance of doing something big with her acting career. That's why she had decided to start from the bottom and audition for a place at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, in London. She had come a long way from starring in her school plays or the summer lessons at the prestigious Cardiff College of Music and Drama, even starring in many plays at the Shakespeare's Globe and small roles in British TV shows or soap operas. But her first important role had come from the Royal Shakespeare Company that offered her one of the main roles in a production of Richard III. That's how she ended up on the stage of the dreamy Royal Shakespeare Theatre. And to that, several productions followed, peaking in a version of Macbeth starring none other than Ian McKellen. Amanda had got dazzling reviews with her performance as Lady Macbeth and reviewers were asking when she'd finally have her big break. One year later, she was still waiting for it while preparing a series of complicated auditions to one of the most prestigious drama schools in the world. It was currently July and Amanda was facing the biggest challenge of her career yet: the final audition. On that warm summer night, Amanda and her best friend Taylor Bevan were just planning the schedule for the next days. Taylor had been her right hand since their school days. From the days Taylor kept saying that she was going to be Amanda's agent when they grew up. They were both sitting on the bed at Amanda's bedroom. This place had changed little since she was a kid. The walls were covered with pictures of herself at different plays, with the animals of the farm, of that time she had won the Caernarfon Junior Challenge of Chopping wood with an axe (she still kept the trophy among the ones she had got from acting) and the picture with Sir Ian McKellen. The only different picture there, was of Amanda's favourite actor since 2013: Sebastian Stan. His picture was between one of Amanda playing Lady Macbeth and another of herself hugging one of her cats. She had an unhealthy obsession with Sebastian in a particular way. She had fan accounts dedicated to him even though she never lusted over him on the Internet (maybe a couple of thirst tweets but that was all). She just tagged him in some posts on Instragram from time to time, captioned with sweet words telling him how much he meant to her. Also, she had never been one of those people who sent hate to any of his former girlfriends even though she had been jealous as hell and she couldn't help it. She had just wanted to grab the axe and kill a bitch. But those thoughts were never expressed out loud. She smiled thru the pain and went on with her life. And she wasn't damaging anyone. Well, maybe herself. God be praised that the guy was single now. Taylor knew about that even though Amanda hardly ever talked about it. Sometimes she wondered if it was sane for Amanda to be so attached to a guy so unattainable but then... she had the weird feeling that Sebastian Stan wasn't so impossible for Amanda Ward-Prowse. She had worked with people like Ian McKellen before, working with Sebastian Stan someday wasn't at all impossible. Amanda was rereading the lines of her monologue for the thousandth time with one of her cats curling on her chest. She had decided to play it safe and had chosen a piece of Lady Macbeth, a role that she had done many times before under more stressful circumstances. ''Take that furry thing out of the bed, he's shedding black fur all over it.'' Taylor grunted. ''Which one is this, by the way?'' ''Sir Frances Drake'' Amanda cuddled the black cat closer to her chest. ''Really, Taylor. You almost live at this house and you don't know the names of the cats?'' she rolled her eyes. ''Tay, can you take a look at my Twitter and see if I have any notifications?'' ''Your twitter is basically a fan account by now. If you make it to the RADA you'll have to change it.'' ''I was planning to have a stage name. Something more impressive than Amanda Ward-Prowse.'' she went on reading the monologue. In Taylor's opinion that was a complete waste of time. Who needed silly social media when she was about to have the most important audition of her life? And the only notification she could have was someone informing the breaking news that Sebastian Stan had eaten a sandwich or something of the sort. And she was partially right. But the news had nothing to do with sandwiches at all. They were more like Sebastian Stan having a date with some mystery woman. For the twits that Taylor could read, there were hundreds of young women thinking that this was an absolute catastrophe. Taylor wanted to laugh. How could they be so silly? It wasn't as if they could date the guy themselves any time soon. Her expression changed when she remembered that Amanda was one of those people who was going to mourn the fact that Sebastian Stan had a girlfriend. ''Why do you have that face?'' Amanda asked with a bit of suspicion. ''Nothing''. Unfortunately Taylor couldn't act or lie decently. Amanda took the phone out of her hands and glanced at the screen. Taylor got ready for any dramatic outburst Amanda may have but it never came. Taylor wondered what was happening. ''So, are you going to say something?'' ''No, why?'' Amanda looked genuinely confused. ''I mean, your celebrity crush has a girlfriend...'' ''And?'' Amanda's voice wasn't even harsh or resigned. It was just indifferent. ''Are you taking me as one of those people who send hate or believe that they may have a chance with him. Let's be realistic, Taylor. That's never going to happen. Now, I have to focus in the audition if I want to succeed in something.'' This was so unlike Amanda that it scared Taylor a little. Where was the obsessive and attached Amanda? Maybe she was too absorbed in nailing her audition. ''This doesn't sound like you. I thought you were part of the 'Let me have your children, Sebastian' club.'' Amanda let the script apart and looked at her friend. ''Really, Taylor? You think that low of me? I'm a professional actress that worked with Ian McKellen. Do you think my biggest concern in this life is having Sebastian Stan's children? Not that I could, even if I wanted to.'' she added. Taylor wanted to punch herself in the face. She was scared that she had said something insensible. ''I'm sorry for that. Sometimes I forget because you speak so lightly about your own body that no one can't take you seriously.'' ''Because there's nothing wrong with it. We all should all be proud of our bodies.'' And there was no doubt that Amanda was proud of hers. She loved her pitch black hair, the stunning pair of deep blue eyes (that in a certain angle looked purple), her tiny waist and long legs. ''Yeah, but remember that not everyone looks like you. Your legs age longer than half of my body. Empathy was never your strength, Amanda.'' She just shrugged her shoulders and looked at the time. ''It's ten. We should go to bed. We have a long day tomorrow.'' ''Just rest. Don't stay up too late watching Doctor Who, Sherlock, Torchwood or any of those shows you like.'' ''I won't'' and Amanda was telling the truth. Whenever Taylor wanted to stay at the Ward-Prowse house she used Amanda's brother's old room. Clint had moved to Cardiff two years ago, he had a wife and played for Cardiff's top rugby team. It seemed that the Ward-Prowse siblings couldn't conform with a normal life and a normal job, they always had to be in the spotlight. ''Okay, we leave tomorrow at six. Please Amanda, don't look hangover.'' ''Who cares if I do? The audition is not tomorrow. And London is full of people with killer hangovers, I won't be the exception.'' ''Whatever'' Taylor left, leaving Amanda alone. Amanda made sure that Taylor was not coming back, grabbed a pillow and threw it at the picture of Sebastian Stan she had on the wall. ''You... bloody idiot!'' she hissed. She knew she had no absolute right of reacting like this but... she was alone in her room where she could vent out her emotions. ''You were better single why the hell would you need a girlfriend. You killed the magic!'' And it was true. The whole fun of having celebrity crushes was to try to reach the unreachable and making stupid dreams inside your head that were never going to happen. But with a freaking girlfriend in the middle, it was just not the same. Except that if she, Amanda, were the girlfriend. But unfortunately she wasn't. She was stuck in Caernarfon, talking to a picture of him. ''Why I have to be so idiotic?'' she buried his face in the pillow for a little while. ''Just stop with the bullshit, Ward-Prowse. You have a bright future, who cares about Sebastian Stan.'' Then she imagined him dating a little nobody, even less known than she was and her blood boiled. Yes, she could accept him dating Emma Watson or Hayley Atwell or a Victoria's Secret angel. But a nobody? Hell, no. Of course she wasn't entitled to an opinion and she wasn't going to say it out loud anyway. This rant was between her and her room walls. It was useless but who on earth cared. She went to Youtube to watch Beyonce's Hold Up music video. It featured Beyonce with a baseball bat hitting things while singing lyrics like 'What's worse, looking jealous or crazy, jealous or crazy?' . Well, she was both. And also ashamed of herself for pulling this stunt even though no one was there to see it. She kept the song on repeat until she fell asleep. Or maybe she never fell asleep and all the weird stuff that was into her head weren't dreams. Taylor found her at five a.m half asleep and half awake, looking like a zombie. When Amanda noticed her presence she immediately turned off the music. If Taylor found out that Amanda had been listening to Beyonce, she was going to guess what was happening in two seconds. And that was embarrassing as hell. ''I just couldn't sleep. I'm nervous'' she normally hated to admit that she was nervous. But it was better than to admit that she had spent the whole night being a jealous ass bitch. ''I was just listening to some Coldplay. They always calm me down.'' Seconds later Amanda's mum showed up. ''Clint just called me. He has some food to give you before you take the train to London.'' ''We're saved'' said Amanda. ''I really didn't want to eat some cheap cookies from the store. Lila may be a local but at least she can cook'' Lila was Clint's wife, a nice simple girl that Amanda considered a local. In her opinion, the dazzling Clint Ward-Prowse deserved better. But of course she had never voiced her opinions out loud. ''Don't call Lila a local'' her mother reprimanded her. ''Just because she doesn't have the same ambitions as you, doesn't make her less of a person. You have too much to learn...'' she added when she saw Amanda rolling her eyes. ''Not everyone wants to be a film star and win BAFTAs and cover British Vogue, Amanda.'' But Amanda wasn't listening. She had her mind somewhere else. What if Sebastian Stan's new girlfriend was a similar version of Lila? No, please, no. Anything but a local, please Sebastian, don't be an idiot. ''Amanda!'' Taylor yelled. ''We have to leave.'' Amanda's parents drove them to the station and they immediately caught a train to Cardiff. Cardiff was Amanda's second home. She had stayed there countless of time while attending special drama lessons at the Royal Academy of Music and Drama there. Also, Doctor Who was filmed there and once she had been lucky enough to score a little role in an episode. It was just a couple of lines for one scene but she had met Matt Smith and Karen Gillan that day. In the train, she was swearing to herself that one day she'll be in Cadiff filming Doctor Who again but this time she'd be the Doctor. Fourteenth or Fifteenth Doctor was good to her. Though the window she glanced at the familiar outline of the city of Cardiff. She smiled, forgetting about bloody Sebastian Stan or her ambitions for a second. Sooner than she had wanted, they got to the train station. She immediately spotted Clint standing at the platform. ''Manda! Looking so happy, as always.'' he said with sarcasm, noticing Amanda's expression. ''She didn't sleep'' added Taylor, blushing a little. Yes, she had a boyfriend and he had a wife but Clint Ward-Prowse was still bloody gorgeous. She was a bit taller than his sister and with a thicker complexion. He had the same pitch black hair as Amanda. The main difference between them were the eye colour. Amanda's eyes were dark blue while Clint's icy blue. ''Typical Amanda. Were you watching Doctor Who or Sherlock?'' ''Any of them. And I slept for a couple of hours.'' she lied. Of course that she was not going to admit that she had spent the night listening to Beyonce. ''Whatever'' he rolled his eyes. ''Lila send you this. She couldn't come, for some reason.'' he said with sarcasm. Of course that he was aware the sisters in law weren't the best friends on earth. They were just too different to agree on anything. They all knew that Lila hadn't made that handmade cookies to Amanda. They were for Taylor, who in Lila's eyes was a much normal and decent person than her sister in law. But Clint was never in a million years going to side against his little sister. Amanda had been the jewel of the family since she was born and this was not going to change. ''We have to leave.'' she hugged her brother tightly. Next time you see me I'll be a RADA alumni. Keep the faith.'' ''I'll never lose faith in you. You're the star of the family. Now go. Bye Taylor, take care of her.'' ''Of course.'' Clint had always been overprotective of Amanda. When they were kids he was her personal bodyguard. He was never going to stop caring about his little sister. ''Amanda, this is the first step to stardom, don't forget it.'' She smiled with confidence before getting lost into the crowd.

Much has already been said but I think the saddest thing underneath all this is that by becoming a content provider for the fandom, Sarah was stripped of the right to enjoy herself as a fan.

And boy is that relatable.

Sarah is kind, generous, patient and eloquent. I’m probably just mildly eloquent. She burdened herself with running a specified info blog dedicated to this ONE THING. I never did because I didn’t want the responsibility and hassle. One reason I never created a kuromyu-specific sideblog is because I don’t want to feel obligated to update on stuff I’m not interested in. I just want to be able to post whatever catches my eye on my own blog and that’s no one else’s business. And STILL I get messages on why I didn’t update on some actors’ activities even after the show was over. You can imagine the stuff Sarah gets and there are like 1200 people she had to keep track of already.

It’s sickening that fandoms wear out the energy and patience of their most vital content providers like this. As if content providers are not fans themselves, as if they have ANY obligation at all to keep the fandom informed. All these accusations of bias from not updating on people who barely have a social media presence in the first place, all these demands from greedy, greedy, greedy bastards hidden behind the grey anon icon, they leave a mark on you over time. You can never satisfy these people and they will never appreciate what you have already done for them because all they do is take, take, take.

But you know what, Sarah didn’t have to do this for nobody.

Everything she posts are out there in the web. She has no special access to anything she puts on her blog, she just went the extra mile and gathered them in one place. Anyone could have found the same pictures if they bothered to follow the actors on twitter or buy a certain magazine.

But no, instead of putting in their own effort, they demanded Sarah to “fan” for them. They demanded her to show them everything they think a fan has the right to access, WHEN THEY CAN VERY WELL ACCESS THE SAME THINGS ON THEIR OWN. Sarah isn’t paid to do this, and even when she asked for a little contribution from time to time, few answered the call. Too broke to support the show, too broke to support a content provider, but obviously comfortable enough inside to just grab everything she puts on the table for free without saying thank you. How despicable.

As if I wanted to. As if buying an extra copy of the pamphlet so we can rip it into single pages in order to create flawless scans but then nobody bothered to say thank you isn’t discouraging. As if it’s OK for us to write down all the information in a post with a couple personal comments only to get a tsunami of “cosplay” tags and snarky reblogs on how much they hate my “fangirling” next to an otherwise perfect photo post. As if it isn’t hurtful for us to pour all our hearts into supporting the actors, only to see comments like “oh she/he doesn’t have the looks” even when the actors are children. I’m sorry I am not noble enough to act like this doesn’t affect me. I can’t pretend I am not angry.

Yesterday I spent a lot of time blaming myself for not writing down all the actors’ names in a kuromyu photo post that resulted in many “cosplay” tags. But why should I really? I’m so used to babysitting the fandom, fearing they might get stuff wrong that I am barring myself from a moment of unfiltered fangirling over a backstage picture. I have trained myself to not act like a normal fan and ended up blaming myself when I did, as if I was being unprofessional. Why am I creating boundaries for myself on what I can and cannot express? Why am I pretending to be neutral or positive about everything when I like many have preferences? This isn’t even my job.

But really, why should I, why should Sarah, why should anyone be responsible for keeping the fandoms informed of the most basic facts? There are official pages and twitter accounts that do just that. If you call yourself a fan, shouldn’t you be the one keeping yourself informed? Why do you even expect anyone to update you on this shit? It ain’t my job. I’m just another fan minding my own business. I don’t live in Japan and I sure don’t speak fluent Japanese. I am also not rich. I didn’t know everything when I first got in the fandom either but I do my homework. I shape my own fandom experience and I am in control of it. Someone else’s blog can never provide everything I need and I never expect it to do that, so of course we are taken aback when people expect us to give them what they want instead of what really interests us. Somehow we are naive enough to keep on going despite everything, because at least we are having fun ourselves, until one day we no longer are.

But you know what, the fandom needs its content providers more than they need the fandom. They don’t lose any access or any useful material by cutting off a blog. Sarah can still fangirl about HQ with her friends, now unbothered by questions of recasts and recasts and recasts. Yes you could say our greatest advantage over most fans is that we are fandom veterans therefore we are more chill about change, but we can’t always be that “voice of calm/reason” when the fandom itself never learns. The kuromyu fandom sadly is still about the same as I first joined in 2010. I think a lot of people are still stuck in 2010 for reasons I can’t explain. But honestly none of the bad behaviors I have witnessed in the fandom are new. It’s just that in the past they were targeted at a different actor. Everything is so predictable it’s almost sad. And now I see the same things play out in newer fandoms like HQ.

Sarah created the blog to make everyone including herself happy. Now the blog is making her unhappy, and I honestly don’t see how the fandom can benefit from that. I have nothing but support for her and people, please grow up, grow the fuck up.

As allegations of abuse continue to mount against Joss Whedon, it has become increasingly difficult to keep track of which cast members of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel have made specific allegations of professional misconduct. It is important to make this distinction, as many have stepped forward to voice their emotional support for their co-stars without speaking specifically about any abuse they may have experienced personally.

Once a beloved nerd culture icon, Joss Whedon has fallen far and fallen fast in the past few years. In 2017, Whedon's writing began to face increased scrutiny following the leak of his script for a Wonder Woman movie, which many felt was overly focused on Steve Trevor's heroics and turned Diana Prince into a supporting character in her own movie, as well as descriptive passages that seemed to oversexualize Diana. Similar issues were raised by MCU fans over his script for Avengers: Age of Ultron and the revelation that Black Widow saw herself as a monster because she couldn't have children. Shortly after that, his ex-wife, Kai Cole, wrote a piece regarding his repeated infidelities and accused him of abusing his power on set, explaining that Whedon, who she divorced in 2016, had used their relationship "so no one would question his relationships with other women or scrutinize his writing as anything other than feminist." Since then, a few actors from his shows have corroborated Cole's accusations and hinted at others, but it's been nothing like the number of actors stepping forward now.

These problematic events fueled the most recent wave of controversy, which came after actor Ray Fisher accused Whedon of unprofessional conduct on the set of Justice League. His accusations first broke in June 2020. Recently, Charisma Carpenter, who played Cordelia Chase on both Buffy and Angel, affirmed her support of Fisher's claims on social media and went on to go into greater detail regarding her own bad experiences working with Joss Whedon. This led to a tsunami of support as other Buffy and Angel alumni surged forward to support Carpenter and offer their accountings.

While most of the cast of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel developed over time, few characters changed as drastically over the course of both series as Charisma Carpenter's character, Cordelia Chase, who appeared in both series. When Carpenter became pregnant during Angel Season 4, her pregnancy and absence were explained by Cordelia becoming possessed by a supernatural being who intended to use Cordelia as a means to bring about her own rebirth. Cordelia later lapsed into a coma and was killed off during Angel Season 5. While there were rumors that Whedon had written Carpenter out of the show because of her pregnancy, Carpenter never went into great detail about any discussions she might have had with Whedon. At a convention in 2009 (via Vanity Fair), she revealed that she had thought he was mad at her for getting pregnant but softened it by saying she could understand his frustration at how "sometimes living your life gets in the way of maybe the creator’s vision for the future."

Recently, however, Carpenter went into more detail on her Twitter account, confirming that she was questioned as part of the WarnerMedia investigation into Whedon's abusive history. Describing Whedon as "casually cruel," Carpenter recalled how he frequently threatened to fire her, called her fat in front of their co-workers when she was four months pregnant, played favorites, pitted people against one another to compete for his approval, and generally acted in a passive-aggressive manner. She specifically noted that Joss Whedon's on-set abuse also came in the form of him attacking her religious beliefs and berating her over a rosary tattoo she had gotten. Perhaps most shockingly, Whedon reportedly asked her in a closed-door meeting if she intended to keep the baby and, when she confirmed that she was, began scheduling her to shoot her scenes at 1 AM in the morning, despite her doctor's orders that she shorten her workdays and avoid late-night shoots.

The first members of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer production team to come out with detailed accounts of Joss Whedon's abuse were there from the very beginning. Jeff Pruitt served as the series' stunt coordinator for its first four seasons and Sophia Crawford worked as Sarah Michelle Gellar's stunt double during that same period. The two began dating while working on the show and eventually married, but Whedon's abuse and egomania caused both to leave the stunt team after Season 4. Pruitt was the first to declare his departure and Whedon reportedly told Crawford she could stay on as Buffy's stunt double but only if she agreed to stop dating Pruitt. When she refused, Whedon reportedly threatened both Pruitt and Crawford, warning them that "no one will ever hire you again after this." and that he'd ruin their careers. Pruitt also alleged that keyloggers had been placed on his computer and those of a few other employees to track every single email they received (via Metro UK).

Originally introduced as minor villain in Buffy Season 2, Spike went on to become a full member of the ensemble and one of Buffy's love interests thanks to James Masters' charming performance and popularity with the fanbase. This reportedly did not please Whedon, who originally had drastically different plans for the snarky punk vampire. This displeasure manifested in a behind the scenes encounter between Joss Whedon and James Marsters, where, according to Marsters, Whedon "backed me up against a wall one day and he was just like, ‘I don’t care how popular you are, kid, you’re dead. You hear me? Dead. Dead!'" While originally writing this statement off as Whedon being "angry at the situation" rather than at him personally, the actor came to reconsider after learning of the allegations against Whedon.

More recently, Marsters made a statement of support for Whedon's accusers, regarding the accounts of his female co-stars while acknowledging his own ignorance of the abuse they suffered at Whedon's hands. Describing his own time as Spike as "not without challenges," Marsters expressed his dismay over "the experiences of some of the cast." This would seem to confirm reports that Whedon was careful about keeping his harassment of the actresses he directed behind closed doors.

Sarah Michelle Gellar, who played the lead role of Buffy Summers, has yet to comment specifically on any of the allegations made by her co-stars. However, Gellar did post a statement of support for "all survivors of abuse" on her personal Instagram account, saying that she would not be making any further statements at this time as she was "more focused on raising my family and surviving a pandemic currently." Gellar also said that while she was proud to have her name associated with Buffy Summers, "I don't want to be forever associated with the name Joss Whedon."

Michelle Trachtenberg played Dawn Summers, Buffy's younger sister, who was introduced into the series in the Buffy Season 5 premiere when Trachtenberg was 14 years old. Trachtenberg shared Sarah Michelle Gellar's comments on her Instagram, but made an additional statement hinting at her own traumatic experiences with Joss Whedon. Without going into detail, Trachtenberg said that a rule arose on the Buffy set that Whedon was "not allowed in a room alone with Michelle again," describing his behavior in the incident that led to the creation of this rule as "not appropriate behavior.... very. Not. Appropriate" while reminding people she was only a teenager during her time on Buffy.

While the rest of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel cast have yet to come forward with their own allegations of mistreatment, many of them have confirmed the accounts of their co-stars or offered their emotional support. Amber Benson, who played Tara on Buffy, confirmed Carpenter's claims on her personal Twitter account, saying that "Buffy was a toxic environment and it starts at the top." Eliza Dushku, who played the slayer Faith before starring in Whedon's series Dollhouse, praised Charisma Carpenter's post, saying it was "powerful, painful and painted a picture we’ll collectively never un-see or un-know." Emma Caulfield, who played the ex-demon Anya on Buffy, and J. August Richards (who played Charles Gunn on Angel) made similar statements of support on their social media. Finally, Anthony Stewart Head, who played the Scoobies' mentor Rupert Giles, expressed his support for his co-stars in an interview with This Morning, while discussing how he was "running through my memories, thinking, ‘What did I miss?’ Because this is not a man saying, ‘I didn’t see it, so it didn’t happen.’ I can’t—I am gutted, I’m seriously gutted."

Parents & Friends

Some stans have picked sides due to the parent’s behaviour on SM. Just the way some reflect all the hate collected from other stans onto the girls, it’s the same deal when it comes to their parents. Due to the fact that certain people can’t stand them, they decide to whether unstan or throw shit at the girls for it.

If you don’t think all these subtle shade going on is done with a purpose, try to give it a second thought.

The thing with this whole “shading” is that we've got two viewpoints:

From Camila’s side we saw how her parents stopped acknowledging the group & this happened since the fighting days. Now, let's put ourselves in the Cabellos’ shoes for a moment:

Imagine one day your daughter & her bandmates are played such a dirty trick & they cut communication. (Yes, I still believe this is how all went down). Anyway back to our scenario, now thanks to this they are not on speaking terms anymore. Your daughter releases her first solo project. It's important for her. However the people pulling the group strings are setting her in a very dark position. They are painting her in a very negative light in front of her fans.

Around those days, you log into your Twitter account several times & you see one fan turns against her. But as time passes by that one “fan” multiplicates & turns into 10 more haters. Then 50, then 100 & so it goes on & on. The situation worsens. Now, your daughter starts receiving hateful tweets 24/7. Your daughter starts getting sick. Her mental health state is seriously compromised but the people behind her career are doing nothing to help the situation, in fact they are making it more toxic for her. The issue with her bandmates is still not solved. The haters seem unstoppable at this point… Your daughter is mentally exhausted to a point where she describes her anxieties having anxieties.

That continues for a year. Along the way your daughter & her bandmates rekindled their bond. But it’s not all bright again since they must not give that away on camera. Another thing to add is that her bandmates are told not to defend her on SM to make the haters cease. Tell me are you happy with the brand & the poisonous environment they created around your daughter? The answer is obvious.

Let’s take a look at 5H’s angle. The way I see it, you’re a 40-50 year old & you spend your days bashing a 20 year old through Twitter... immaturity at its finest, right?

The tricky aspect here is that the parents’ wishes contradict their actions.

E.g. The parents want hatred to stop. Some like Mama Dre have expressed it & also it’s not even necessary to have this captured on a tweet to understand. Anyhow, they want the hate to cease but they encourage haters with their comments? Logic 2+2= potato

Now, personally the moment Mike started being shady that seemed fishy af to me. We’re talking about the same person that liked C’s departure letter (apparently he unliked it a little after, not really sure). Anyway, even if he didn’t, he was always all about the five girls & one of the non-problematic ones before the mess started unraveling. It makes sense that they started using him, not only to cut all ties with Camren but to influence the stans more strongly as well.

I asked lawyerlarry if this has happened with their boys, using their relatives to mold or push the narrative. This was her answer:

Since we don’t know what type of contract the girls are under we can’t know for sure if the parents are completely obligated. However one thing is for sure, clearly as a parent you’re going to want the best for your kid.

I’m bringing back some points I’ve written about this same subject in a past masterpost…

Now, the moment the girls became legal, the parents are off negotiations or meetings so the only thing they know is what their daughters told them (and we don’t know how restrictive the contract is or even if the girls go and spill full deets to their parents) and you are right, their behavior is very contradictory, even from parents of the same child. Example, Lauren’s parents. Her dad it’s super supportive of the 5 of them and her mom is really over the top, to be honest lol. I have seen them throwing shade and then talking about supporting the 5 of them so maybe the shade is for the label. Or at some point it was for Camila but then they got informed and realized the situation, who knows. Let’s not forget, they don’t belong to the industry so they don’t know how to handle situations like these. Such as their children, they are too emotional. The parents and friends subject is tricky, cause who knows how much they know/or don’t know.”

Every single time I get worried I might be overthinking I return to the question told above: If they know they are only worsening their situation & attracting more toxicity toward their daughters why would they continue with this childish behaviour? Also the girls are not stupid, cause even if these were truly their parents’ actions don’t doubt they wouldn’t stop them.

Once more, this applies to their parents. When it comes to other relatives like Leilani, we're completely unaware of how close she's or not with Dinah, let alone the rest of the girls. She could be throwing shade in order to help them or simply she’s an attention seeker. For all we know a) she could have been told an alternate story along the way b) she is acquainted with only a very small part of the truth c) nothing at all & she knows just as much as we do.

When it comes to friends, let alone not their closest friends, we can coincide that they surely don’t know the story from head to toe but since they’re familiar with the girls at a certain extent they claim to for the sake of rts & attention. Dealing with the parents topic is ambiguous. “I think the parents ought to know everything, don’t fool yourself, why would the girls keep things from them?” Believe it or not, there’s always possibility. Here I consider a list of reasons why it COULD be true:

When the girls became legal, procedures & regulations on the entertainment business gave a 180 degrees turn.

Non-disclosure agreements are a common thing in the industry.

Thus far none of the girls has shaded each other. Although, other people have accomplished a fraction of this “dirty work” for them. Such as friends, crew team members, & their parents. What I’ve caught on this culmination of “bitterness” is that it’s quite contradictory. To elaborate: Lucy shaded Camila around two or three weeks later by liking one IG post that was referring to C as “Canola”. What I found funny is how less than a month before, Lucy literally appeared on Dinah’s livestream hanging with her & Camila at their bus.

When I wrote that, the BB 5H issue hadn’t come out yet. Also these past few days, Lucy has publicly shown her support for Camila on SM. Also let’s add, she isn’t the only connection from Lauren that’s been doing this lately...

Now, some of LAND’s friends have publicly supported C. To me, it hints at the bigger picture that the ladies are in good terms. Some of you might disagree, maybe you consider they’re not friends any longer. Fine that’s your POV, but I don’t share that perspective. Not because I refuse to let go OT5 or anything remotely similar, but like I’ve said numerous times before, the fact that the girls knew about C leaving since 2015 & all the moments we had along 2016 I consider it a sign that they were able to somewhat fix whatever issues they had a year before.

Even if you agree or not with me on their current friendship status, you can’t deny the following: LAND doesn’t speak badly about Camila bts unlike what media wants to make us believe.

Enough with Josh (he stans Camila hard lol) Let’s check the rest of their friends...

I would insert here the videos of Simone & Sydney jamming to CITC, unfortunately I couldn’t download them but that doesn’t me we must not take them into account as well.

Next one might not be recent but reminder that Normani wrote as part of those thoughts: “I have love and respect for all four of my bandmates whether you choose to believe it or not” “I have to address foolishness manufactured by those that have absolutely no idea what goes on” “For those who enjoy speculating and creating drama that doesn’t exist, please keep in mind that myself and the other girls in the group are PEOPLE” etc...

Out of all their friends or people they’ve worked with, in my opinion, when Angie (their temporary guitarist after Ashlee left) commented on C’s IG post is the one proof that I would take over any of the above to pinpoint that THIS...

...doesn’t reflect any of THIS...

In conclusion, I believe that the relatives & some friends are attempting to help the girls as much as they can. I repeat, it’s uncertain how much the girls are allowed to tell them. But some things are undeniably true... They (parents & friends) know how fucked up this business is, they have seen how much the 5 ladies have struggled in these past years. If there’s something they can’t do, is stop this madness. They can’t break the system, they can’t protect them from this industry. But they can try to fulfill part of the “dirty work”, otherwise I’m sure it would have to come directly from the girls. Don’t judge them, they are willing to do anything if it means taking some of the burden off of the girls’ shoulders. How do I know this latter? Cause I might only be a fan but I would do it too.

Question: if you had a friend or a relative in they industry, would you doubt putting yourself in the spotlight for a second in order to give them a hand?

P.S. Alejandro liked Clara’s “shady” tweet that was supposedly aimed at Camila.

George Floyd: Cop charged with murder, Minneapolis sets curfew | USA News

The fired officer who knelt on George Floyd’s knelt for several minutes as Floyd pleaded, “I can’t breathe”, has been charged with murder and manslaughter.

Protests erupted in cities across the US over the deadly arrest of Floyd, an unarmed black man, who was pinned to the ground by the knee of a white officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Protesters rallied in Minneapolis for a third night on Thursday into Friday, with some demonstrators overtaking a police building and setting it on fire.

The Minnesota National Guard has arrived in Minneapolis, Saint Paul and surrounding areas.

Twitter hid Trump’s tweet criticising the protesters and Minneapolis’s handling of the protests as a violation of its policy on glorifying violence.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey has imposed a curfew on the city beginning at Friday night.

Under the curfew, only specified public safety personnel and other essential workers will be allowed in public places from 8pm to 6am (01:00-10:00 GMT) Friday and Saturday nights.

The FBI Minneapolis asked for public assistance with its civil rights investigation of the death of Floyd.

It encourages the public to provide any info, photos or videos from before, during or after the incident.

19:50 GMT – Floyd was unresponsive for nearly 3 minutes before officer removed knee: Complaint

George Floyd was unresponsive for nearly three minutes before the officer removed his knee from his neck, according to a complaint filed by the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office in the arrest of Derek Chuavin.

Citing a preliminary autopsy, the complaint said being constrained, underlying health conditions and any potential intoxicants in Floyd’s system “likely contributed to his death”.

18:32 GMT – Trump defends tweet, says he wasn’t glorifying violence

Responding to Twitter’s decision to hide President Donald Trump tweet that it deemed to be glorifying violence, Trump said he was only stating a fact.

“Looting leads to shooting, and that’s why a man was shot and killed in Minneapolis on Wednesday night,” Trump tweeted, repeating the phrase he initially tweeted late on Thursday.

“It was spoken as a fact, not as a statement. It’s very simple, nobody should have any problem with this other than the haters, and those looking to cause trouble on social media. Honor the memory of George Floyd!” Trump said.

But the phrase “looting leads to shooting,” was first used however by former Miami Police Chief Water Headley in declaring a war on criminals, according to the Washington Post.

“I’ve let the word filter down that when the looting starts, the shooting starts,” Headley reportedly said.

18:10 GMT – Fired police officer charged with murder, manslaughter

A fired Minneapolis police officer has been charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter in the death of George Floyd, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman said.

Former officer Derek Chauvin knelt on Floyd’s neck for several minutes before the black man went motionless, a video of the incident showed.

Minneapolis residents called the arrest a good “first step” but demanded the three other officers involved to be arrested and charged as well.

Freeman said those officers are still under investigation.

17:20 GMT – Fired officer who knelt on Floyd’s neck taken into custody, local media report

According to local media, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has taken into custody former officer Derek Chauvin, who knelt on Floyd’s neck for several minutes before the black man went motionless.

No criminal charges have been filed as of yet.

16:50 GMT – Obama: This shouldn’t be the normal in America

Former President Barack Obama issued a statement on Floyd’s killing via Twitter. Obama cited conversations with friends in recent days, including one with an African American business owner who said Floyd’s killing “hurt” to watch.

While it’s “natural” for people to want things to return to normal, Obama said, “we have to remember that for millions of Americans, being treated differently on account of race is tragically, painfully, maddeningly ‘normal’.”

16:05 GMT – National Guard arrives in Minneapolis

Members of the Minnesota National Guard arrived in the Minneapolis and Saint Paul areas. The National Guards said about 500 members would be activated to the area.

16:00 GMT – NABJ calls arrest of CNN journalist ‘unfathomable’

The on-air arrest of CNN journalist Omar Jimenez, who is Black, was condemned by Dorothy Tucker, president of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ).

“It is unfathomable and upsetting to witness this structural racism in real time. We are closely monitoring this situation,” Tucker said in a tweet.

Local NABJ chapter head Nicole Norfleet reached out to Jimenez to offer support.

15:30 GMT – Minnesota governor apologises for CNN arrests, says there will be swift justice for Floyd

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz said he expects “swift” justice for George Floyd.

“It is my expectation that justice for the officers involved in this will be swift, that it will come in a timely manner, that it will be fair,” Swift said. “That is what we’ve asked for. I have been in contact with Hennepin County attorney, and I am confident that those very things I just said will happen.”

Prosecutors have been criticised for taking more than three days to announce a decision on charges against the officers.

Walz also publicly apologised for the arrest of a CNN crew.

14:20 GMT – Biden ‘furious’ about Trump tweet

Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, said on Twitter that he was “furious” about Trump’s tweet glorifying violence against protesters in Minneapolis.

“I will not lift the President’s tweet,” the former vice president said. “I will not give him that amplification. But he is calling for violence against American citizens during a moment of pain for so many. I’m furious, and you should be too.”

14:15 GMT – US first lady calls for peace

Striking a noticeably different tone from her husband, US First Lady Melania Trump tweeted her condolences to the family of George Floyd and called for peace.

“Our country allows for peaceful protests, but there is no reason for violence,” she said. “I’ve seen our citizens unify & take care of one another through COVID19 & we can’t stop now. My deepest condolences to the family of George Floyd. As a nation, let’s focus on peace, prayers & healing.”

13:10 GMT – Minnesota attorney general says charges are likely

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison says he expects “there will be charges” against the police officers involved in Floyd’s deadly arrest.

“We are standing by and helping any way we can,” Ellison told CNN. “I anticipate there will be charges. I hope they’re soon. But that is the prerogative of another prosecuting authority. They are trying to be careful. They are trying to make sure their case is strong and airtight.”

12:00 GMT – Brother of George Floyd: ‘I just want justice’

Philonise Floyd, the brother of George Floyd, says he just wants justice.

Philonise said the protesters “have the same pain that I feel”.

“I want everybody to be peaceful right now but people are torn and hurt because they’re tired of seeing black men die constantly, over and over again,” Philonise told CNN.

“I understand and I see why a lot of people are doing a lot of different things around the world. I don’t want them to lash out like that, but I can’t stop people right now. Because they have pain. They have the same pain that I feel. I want everything to be peaceful, but I can’t make everybody be peaceful. I can’t. It’s hard.”

Hello and welcome to Al Jazeera’s continuing coverage of the protests in the United States over the deadly arrest of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This is Laurin-Whitney Gottbrath in Louisville, Kentucky, and Creede Newton in Washington, DC.

Here are a few things to get caught up:

George Floyd, unarmed 46-year-old Black man, died on Monday after a white officer used his knee to pin Floyd’s neck down to the ground for several minutes. Floyd can be heard on a bystander video repeatedly pleading with officers, saying “I can’t breathe.” He eventually goes motionless with the officer’s knee still on his neck. (You can read about the deadly incident here.)

The four officers involved in the incident were fired, but prosecutors have not made a decision on charges, angering Floyd’s family, community leaders and residents.

Protests erupted across Minneapolis on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. While they have started peacefully, they have descended into chaos and fires. There have been reports of looting and vandalism.

Protesters on Thursday gained access to the Minneapolis third precinct police building, setting it on fire. A state of emergency has been declared and the National Guard activated.

Protests have also gripped other parts of the US, including New York City, Louisville, Kentucky, Denver, Colorado and Oakland, California. More protests are scheduled for the weekend.

Let’s cut to the chase: thefunksoldiers.Tumblr.com is NOT a hate site. Anyone who reads this and thinks otherwise only needs to look at the sites created by Dave Buchansky, “Dave’s Army,” or Mayte’s Crusaders. We present factual information that has been researched and verified. We do not create lists like they did during the McCarthy-era of people to target for harassment; that would be Dave’s Army. We don’t tell people to support us by going across social media and plastering people’s private information, that’s Mayte’s Crusaders. Everything that we do, we do it here and only here for everyone to see. We are not the ones hiding in the shadows. Our page is public and anyone can view it. We only remove comments that are designed to distract, degrade or malign.

Dave wants us to deactivate the Tumblr because it expresses an opinion rooted in factual, verified information that goes against his own. So blinded by infatuation, Dave refuses to see that he cannot force us to stop expressing ourselves and exposing the truth. The First Amendment applies to us all and all we are doing here is exercising that right. Dave has crossed the line with the methods he’s been using to infringe upon our First Amendment rights. The man created an Instagram account one day, sent himself a death threat the next, and by the third deactivated the account. He rushed to social media with a screenshot of this self-imposed death threat to prove he has been enough of a jackass to warrant threats on his life. His claim was he contacted IG and they deleted this brand new account that no one but Dave happened to see. I promise we are not making this up because anyone can contact IG tech support at help.instagram.com and ask if that account he screenshot was terminated by them or deactivated by the account holder. Guess what the answer is when you do?

Dave claims to have reported that “threat” and social media posts, accounts, etc. and that police, FBI and maybe even the Easter Bunny visited these people he claims to have filed reports on. Yet another fabrication to stir people into a hazy mess of mental uncertainty. You all can believe him if you want to, or you can do what we did. Police reports have to be filed where the victim is located. This would mean that Dave knew the full names and locations of those he supposedly reported because his local officers would have to take a criminal report that Dave signed before witnesses stating he was not filing a false report and his local law enforcement would have to contact the law enforcement wherever these fictitious stalkers live, send them a copy of the criminal report and they address the issue according to the law in that area. You can’t just call and say “someone who goes by the screen name Camille on IG lives in Erotic City, go pick them up.” Dave, are you dumb or are you dumb? And how dumb do you think your supporters (re: Mayte’s fans) are? We can say for certain, no contributor of ours was visited by any law enforcement, despite Dave's claims. But call Dave's bluff and see for yourself, it just takes a phone call to verify. Call Dave's local police department 818-756-4800 and ask if he filed any reports. Call the FBI DC office: 855-835-5324, and Los Angeles regional field office at 310-477-6565.

We have been made aware of the endless bullying by Dave, that goes back years. We have at least 500 screenshots from across social media and on Org to show that Dave is not the victim of bullying tactics; Dave is the bully. People with actual jobs, families and significant others do not have time to make what Dave calls fake posts and conversations. Still, he accuses everyone who disagrees with him of doing so. This degree of desperation on Dave’s part becomes quite comical after a while. In fact, we at thefunksoliders.tumblr.com aren't very savvy when it comes to technology to even do what Dave suggests and laugh among ourselves whenever he accuses our site of creating fake posts. Some days we even have trouble just getting into our page.

But Dave persists.

If you look at the posts he claims are faked DMs between him and his harassment victims, his personal pictures are there. We know we can get pictures of Prince in the public domain because he was a public figure, but Dave is not. Where would we even get personal pictures of Dave?! Do those even exist?! Researching this article, we learned his tweets and IG are private, so how? HOW, Dave?

If you listen to him, Dave would have you think we’ve been on him "since Prince was on Apollonia " (word to Kanye), but he is not a celebrity, he's not important. He's not even employed. Yet, he wants people to believe that daily someone cares enough about him to stalk and make fake posts. About him. And only him. Daily. Boy, please! Mayte doesn't even care about him that much. You don't see her social media accounts going to the wall for Dave. Mayte is all about Mayte and stays being about Mayte, as usual. Donald Trump had a major Twitter faux pas today, yet he hasn’t claimed he was hacked or the tweets were faked by the media because the media and everyone hates him (sound familiar?!). Trump is president, Dave is....well, we don't quite know what he is, but how is it only him? Every day?

Look, we don't even post daily because we have lives. Those of you who support him have lives, but have you ever noticed how he's on social media all day?! Like ALL day. Have you ever noticed he's always angry and ranting about something?! Dave, are you ever happy?! Does joy even know where you live because it never seems to find you? You always look so disgruntled as if you've spent 7 hours in the same wet adult diaper and every drug store in your vicinity is out of Depends.

Dave does all this because he wants to bully us into silence. We know this. There is nothing in the Constitution that says it is illegal to express an unfavorable opinion about Mayte Garcia. There is, however, the First Amendment that protects our freedom of speech and right to assemble without government interference; government also includes law enforcement. Dave and Co. have defamed the names of several individuals who spoke their minds. He tried to instill fear using threats, blackmail, attempts to get people fired from their jobs, suggested their children shouldn't be in their care, attacked their family members and in private groups encourages people to target certain individuals for harassment. Yet, he wants everyone to believe we are the evil ones lurking in shadows anonymously bullying him and Mayte. Dave has even gone so far as to threatening to have this page removed and encourage others to report it.

We know the law.

Blogs have the same protection as journalists. As long as we publish the truth, the law and Constitution protects us. Really, people, if what we have posted here was truly libelous and untruthful, Mayte could have used part of that advance she got from her publisher to hire a lawyer and sue us. Such would require the site be shut down. But, she won't because we aren't lying about anything we post and Dave knows this as well. It's why he over explains and overstates his innocence. When you aren’t guilty of a thing and have the truth on your side, you can walk--- in silence, confident that like beautiful music Prince made, the truth shall set you free.

So will we be forced by scare tactics and petitions to shut down? No, we are here to stay, get used to us. Enjoy the video and #StayMadDave.

The Campaign - Batmom POTUS

Warning: This fic is highly politicized and deals with a lot of political issues that currently plague the United States. That being said, this chapter includes mention of blatant racism, sexism, and Islamophobia.

When you announced your candidacy to the country is kicked up a storm and for the briefest moment you had the satisfaction of stealing the spotlight from the rhetoric spewing mad man. But soon enough the real work had to begin. You had an election to win.

You started by hiring a campaign manager and spent a lot of the next few week in and out of interviews with news outlets and politicians alike, talking about your policies and the direction you wanted to take the country in. Naturally you had people who liked your progressive ideas but you also faced a lot of people who didn’t agree with you. You took their criticisms with grace and poise, you knew you wouldn’t be able to get everyone on your side but there were just some issues that you would never sway your stance on.

After the first wave of interviews you went on a tour around the country to give speeches in some of the contested states. You were admittedly a bit exhausted from the non stop traveling but your last stop was in Gotham and the crowd was more than welcoming to you. You shook off your eagerness to see your family again to give your home city the best presentation you could muster.

“Ummi!” A voice called from the crowd. Your heart lept thinking it was your youngest son calling out to you but was admitted a little disappointed to see that it was a young boy calling out excitedly to his hijab clad mother, pointing in your direction as your body guards led you through the crowd. You gave the boy a warm smile when you approached him and waved at him.

“Salam, how are you today young man?” You greeted kindly. He waved shyly back but his mother gently prompted him to respond to you.

“Wa Alaikumussalam wa Rahmatullah.” He greeted kindly in return. “Ummi says that you’re going to be the President someday. Is that true?” He asked innocently.

“That’s the hope.” You laughed warmly.

“Mrs. Wayne, might I ask you a question” The mother said capturing your attention.

“Of course.” You said.

“Luthor and his followers are speaking of banning groups of people from entering the country and deporting others. My husband is still trying to immigrate from Afghanistan. Please Mrs. Wayne, I’m worried for the future of my family.” The woman fretted, visibly upset over the uncertainty of the future for her family.

“I promise you if I’m elected I will never ban any people from seeking asylum in this country. Banning entry for any group of people due to religion, country origin, or any other excuse they can come up with is against the ideals of this nation. In the words of Lady Liberty herself: Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free. As president I will protect that ideal.” You promised. She smiled a watery smile and enveloped you in a tight hug. Your body guards lurched forward to separate her from you but you waved them off. She cried her thanks and the older woman stepped back and framed your cheeks with both of her hands.

“I will be proud to call you my President, Mrs. Wayne.” She said.

“Thank you, ma’am. It is my duty to protect all peoples of this great nation from oppression.” You said.

“What about the wall?” A hispanic man asked who was watching the exchange between you and the Muslim mother.

“There will be no wall. Ever.” You responded firmly. It was almost laughable that Lex would even consider making that a campaign point but fearful isolationists ate up the idea of a physical barrier between our neighbor and close trade partner.

“Ma’am. It’s time to go.” Your campaign manager said ushering you to the stage. You nodded and waved to the crowd and thanked them graciously for their support.

The speech went off without a hitch and you walked away feeling you had the majority of the city on your side. You didn’t show it but you were chomping at the bit to go home and spend time with your family for the first time in weeks.

“Lunch?” Your campaign manager asked when you safely in the car again and driving away from the venue.

“Unless I’m meeting with someone, I’d much rather go home.” You answered kicking off your heels.

“You’re the boss, ma’am.” She said and relayed the instructions the driver. The rest of the drive she got you all caught up on the latest polls and talking points. Luthor was still ahead of you in the polls but your campaign was starting to build steam around the country. There was still a lot of work to do in the traditionally conservative states though. For now though, you had the weekend off recharge before you went on another press tour.

For most of the campaign you and Luthor were neck and neck in the polls. Your campaign manager was out of her mind trying to come up with a way to get the upperhand.

“Well what’s your social media presence like?” Tim asked her one day.

“We’ve been pushing her events and issues on Facebook and Twitter. That’s not our problem.” She argued. Tim raised a skeptical eyebrow and laughed.

“Seriously? I’m no expert here but I think the campaign could benefit from a more human media presence. Post a selfie or two on Instagram, answer questions one on one on Twitter, become a meme on Tumblr. Right now she looks like one of those lifeless robot politicians. You need to let her natural people charm shine. Just sayin’.” Tim rebutted with a shrug.

Your campaign manager didn’t respond but you noticed your social media team revamped itself and your various social media accounts became more normalized and approachable. Your numbers started to rise again but it was Dick and the rest of your boys that you had to thank for sending you into a comfortable lead.

A week or two after Tim discussed the social media issue with your campaign manager a photo was leaked on Twitter and started to trend. You came across it yourself when you were surfing the internet yourself.

It was a photo taken backstage at your latest event. No one on your team took this picture and it certainly wasn’t staged. Bruce was on his phone, talking over some business. Jason and Tim were arguing over something. Well, Jason was arguing. Tim was bent over his handheld game system ignoring him. You were sitting in the background on the couch reading notes on a speech you had been given while Damian napped across your lap. Dick was bent over facing away from the camera to pick up a pen that you had accidently dropped. It was basically a perfect representation of your family and the internet ate it up.

Dick’s butt was quickly trending on twitter. You read a ridiculous tweet that said ‘A vote for Wayne is a vote for this butt in the oval office #firstbutt’. On tumblr your family photo inspired a popular ‘draw the squad’ meme. The publicity generated from the leaked photograph shot your approval rating up in the polls. It would seem Tim was right in that seeing your ridiculous but lovable family in their natural habitat humanized you.

“Did you see it?” Dick came into the room with a giant grin on his face.

“Hmmm. Yes. ‘#Firstbutt’ is trending on twitter.” You commented casually, continuing on the paperwork you were.

“Sally says you’re up in the polls for women between 18 and 35.” He grinned with pride, plopping himself down beside you on the couch. You rolled your eyes and gave him a motherly kiss on the cheek.

“I’m not touching that comment with a ten foot pole.” You said. Secretly you were a little bit proud of your family and all the positivity that drummed up around the country. No one could claim that you didn’t care for your family, or so you thought.

When you started to have a comfortable lead in the polls, Luthor’s supporters started showing up to your speeches in protest. With their new presence your body guards stopped letting you stop to talk to people like the Muslim mother you had met or a polite group of feminists that had serious questions about your various policies.

“A woman’s place is in the kitchen not running the country.” One red faced balding man shouted at you. He got various looks of disgust from the people surrounding him. You kept your head held up high and continued walking to your destination.

“Terrorist whore!” Another shouted waving a sign that said ‘send your husband’s bastard back where he came from’. Your heart clenched at the sight and your vision went red. Your step hesitated and you wanted nothing more than to break away from your guards and deck this disgusting creature. That was your son. Criticize you, call you slurs, sure. You had a thick skin and could take it but you weren’t about to let anyone attack your family. In your rage you were about to approach the man but Sally, your campaign manager, rooted her hand on your shoulder and stopped you from doing anything that might look bad.

“People are watching ma’am.” She reminded you.

“I want him out of here.” You hissed. “The other protesters can stay, I don’t fucking care. But I will not stand by and let them drag my child through the mud. My family, especially my children, are off limits. Do I make myself clear?” You snarled. Sally nodded and did not attempt to argue with you about how you would get heat from the opposition for kicking out a protester. You made it clear that this one instance was non negotiable. You would take the heat later if you had to.

“Yes Ma’am. I’ll take care of it immediately.” She responded dutifully. She scurried off to pass on the message to the security guards on hand who would take care of the situation. You took a few calming breaths before stepping onto the stage like nothing had ever happened.

After all these months of campaigning, you had gotten used to remaining composed under pressure.

You didn’t have a lot of contact with Luthor until the televised national debates. It had come down to just you and him. That was choice that America had to choose from. You or him.

You hoped to god that after all this work they would choose you.

“Ah, Mrs. Wayne it’s good see you again. How are the kids?” He asked with a cold sneer. It was just you and him meeting before the first debate but you didn’t trust that no one wasn’t listening.

“They’re fine.” You answered curtly.

“Aw, why so cold [Y/N]?” He asked, taunting you by using your informal first name. You wanted to slap him across his grinning face. “Surely there’s something you’d like to say to me?” He prompted with a sickeningly sweet lilt to his voice.

“Oh I have many things I would like to say to you, Luthor.” You said, your voice lowering dangerously. “But I won’t give you the satisfaction.”

“Politics aside, we both want what’s best for the country.” He said, playing up a look of innocence. You didn’t buy what that grinning snake was trying to feed you. Some people might eat up all of his bullshit but you saw right through it. “I’m going to make America great again, after all.” He grinned trying to provoke you. Your eyes narrowed to an intense glare that would combust most men into flames.

You wanted to scream at him, call him out on his bullshit, expose him for the lying poisonous snake he was but you restrained yourself. Tonight was about staying composed under pressure, showing the country that you were presidential in poise and speech. You weren’t going to let him get under your skin like this.

He chuckled once and frowned when he didn’t elicit the response he was hoping for.

“May the best man win.” He said holding out his hand. You didn’t take it.

“Woman.” You corrected before turning on your heel and walking gracefully away from him to take your place off stage for the debate to begin.

As you participated in the series of debates your support only seemed to grow. While some remained vigilant in their support for Luthor’s poisonous rhetoric refusing to acknowledge any opinions other than their own based on their own bias’ and prejudices, many saw your poise and composure during the debates and saw a woman that they wanted to represent them on the international stage.

You knew you couldn’t get everyone on your side, and a lot of your proposed policies were more liberal than some would be comfortable with, you were confident going into the election night. Your family was with you in the campaign’s headquarters in Gotham and you were prepared for whatever might come out of this night.

One way or another, the people’s voice would be heard.

“What do we do if you don’t win, Mom.?” Damian asked, looking up at you.

“I-I don’t know.” You answered honestly. You didn’t want to think of what would happen if, god forbid, Luthor won.

“If she doesn’t win this country is full of idiots and this country is fucked anyway.” Jason said crossing his arms over his chest.

“We need to respect the public’s opinion, Jason.” You reminded him gently, but on the inside you were dying. What if all your hard work, all the care and passion you put into this campaign was all for naught?

“Fuck them.” He shrugged. You gave him a look of motherly disapproval before Sally rushed into the room telling you to turn on the TV. You took the remote off the table and turned on the television to one of the news outlets. You felt Bruce slip beside you and intertwine his fingers with yours.

“With ninety eight percent of the precincts reporting, [Y/N] Wayne is the projected winner of this hard fought campaign. Wayne will be making history as America’s very first fem-” You watched wide eyed at the TV coverage. This was happening. This was actually fucking happening. You won. You did hear the rest of what the reporter was saying because you were enveloped in hugs from all sides by your family. Your election team and supporters erupted in celebratory cheers but you were focused on your family.

“Congrats Madam President.” Bruce whispered, lifting your chin and pressing a soft kiss to you lips.

A letter in the mail || 1

genre: nothing in particular. a whole lot of blah blah blah with some angst and dare i say suspense?

word count: 1.3k

summary: your best friend goes missing, but life goes on.

You have a rule about not watching the news. That includes local, national, international, and the weather channel. Even news-related topics on social media apps are ignored and avoided by you. What happens in the world outside of your own is nothing of your concern.

When your best friend disappears, you begin to avoid TV and the internet all together. His story is not limited to local news and things posted online by people in your district. It only takes a few days for his face to become the pinned post of stranger’s Twitter accounts, for people on Tumblr to reblog him relentlessly, begging anyone who cares to #SayHisName and #BringHimHome, for CNN reporters to redundantly ask folks if they know where their children are on the 5 o’clock news.

It quickly becomes too much, so you disconnect.

You almost want to stop going to school, just so you no longer have to hear his name, but that is not a realistic option for you. Your life must go on, even if he is no longer a part of it.

You know after the fifth day that he will not be coming back. You wonder where he is and who he might be with, but you do not pray for his safety, nor for his return. After 24 hours, he is as good as dead. It hurts you, more than words could say, to admit this, but you’ve never been one to beat around the bush and you surely won’t start just because your best friend has gone missing.

For you, there is no question as to what happened. It doesn’t matter if he ran away, or if he was kidnapped, or if he simply fell into a ditch and found himself in another dimension. You do not concern yourself with the possibilities. What matters is that he is gone, and you will not see him again.

On the eighth day, the search party is called off. People who had come in from various parts of the state finally go home, where you imagine them coddling their own children and thanking God that it had been someone else’s kid. It makes you angry how quickly they gave up, even though you knew that no search was necessary in the first place, because he would not be found.

Your one saving grace is that the two of you had left off on a good note. You’d walked home from school together, like you had done nearly every afternoon for the past six years. He told you to call if you needed help with the math homework, which you thought was funny because you were the one everyone came to when they were stuck on a problem. You waved furiously through the window, waiting for him to turn the corner before you let the curtain drop into place. Later that night, he sent you a picture of his dog. You didn’t respond immediately, but some time close to midnight you sent him a picture of your socked foot. You woke up the next morning to a message sent at 3 am that read “good luck on your history test!!!”

That was the last you heard from him.

Ten days later, you are sitting on your bed reading through your old conversations. Dwelling on the past won’t help, but you miss him terribly. You find your mind wandering to places it should not go, dipping into thoughts you would rather not bring to the surface. You do not want to dig deeper. You do not want to know the truth. You hope his disappearance forever remains a mystery, because while you know that something awful has happened to your best friend, you never want to hear the specifics.

Two weeks after he was reported missing, you erase all of his messages. You delete him on Facebook, unfollow him on Instagram, and block him on Snapchat. That way you no longer have the urge to look at his pictures or hear his voice. You are making your life easier, one click at a time.

Things start to go back to normal after about a month or so. Parents start letting their children play outside again, your mother no longer lets you eat dinner in your bedroom, and the boys in the back of the classroom decide that enough time has passed for them to go back to throwing erasers at your head every five minutes.

Life goes on.

Your birthday passes and you do not celebrate, because what is a party without your best friend? His passes a few days later and you sleep through the entire day, only getting up once to relieve your bladder before forcing yourself back underneath the covers. The school year ends, your brother comes home from college, your sister leaves the country to go travel through the desert, and your mother enrolls you in summer camp because what if something terrible happens while you’re home alone?

The thought makes your eyes burn, not with the fear of what could be but with the acceptance of what will never be.

Despite your attempts not to, you make friends. You find love. You know it won’t last long; it will probably meet its end as summer comes to a close, but she is beautiful and sweet and warm and she is there. Meeting her makes you realize that the only person who has ever been there for you is probably decaying in a shallow grave somewhere.

When school picks up again, it feels like no time has passed since you left. Everything is the same - from the teacher to the room number to the faces you see around you, except one is missing. You spend the majority of class thinking about the end of the school year, graduating, moving away. The realization that you will graduate with 30 students instead of 31 makes your stomach hurt.

You sit alone at lunch, absentmindedly peeling the strings from your banana and dropping them onto your flattened brown paper bag. Your phone has been ringing almost nonstop for 5 minutes, which technically isn’t a long time considering it only takes a few seconds for a heart to stop beating, but it seems especially drawn out when you take into account that you have no idea who is calling. Your parents don’t have cell phones, your siblings have a million and one better things to do than call you, and your ex deleted your number when you asked if the two of you could remain friends.

Similar to how you actively avoid watching the news, you make it a point not to answer unknown calls.

When the ringing finally stops, you shove half the banana into your mouth in one bite, not caring who might be looking and what they might think. You hate bananas, but your stomach is growling so hard that it feels like it’s buzzing.

Within minutes, dread settles in the pit of your stomach, making its presence known from the top of your head to the soles of your feet. Maybe you shouldn’t have eaten that banana.

You know something terrible has just happened and your thoughts instantly jump to your aging parents. Has your mother overworked herself? Did your father fall asleep at the wheel again? Are your grandparents okay? Maybe you should’ve answered that phone call. To hell with the school’s anti-phone rules.

When you pull out your phone, you are shocked to see that you have over 20 missed calls. The number makes you feel like you’re going to throw up. Immediately, you know exactly what you’ve done, what’s just slipped through your fingertips, and it sends a chill down your spine.

What’s even worse is the text message.

“please help me”

I am still struggling on a daily basis to accept that Frankie is gone. To say I miss him doesn’t even begin to touch what I feel. Caring for the other dogs gets me out of bed, but moving forward? That seemed out of reach. I need to do something with my grief – so the trip that Ian and I have been planning since winter has been the perfect panacea.

I had hoped to share about this trip weeks ago, but like so much else in my life right now, it was pushed aside. We’ve shortened our originally planned trip in terms of days and distance, but it feels right to be doing this now and I’m grateful for the distraction and the chance to do something to honor Frankie.

Ian is my 17-year-old son, my youngest.

He’s my baby, despite the fact that he towers over me these days. He has always been a sensitive soul, so when I returned from my first trip to the shelters last fall and he asked if I would take him next time, I hesitated. I know how hard it was to see the situation in our rural shelters and be helpless to do anything about it.

Ian has been a partner in this foster adventure from the very beginning. He’s walked dogs, cleaned up after too many dogs, fed dogs, and taken over 100% when Nick and I are out of town. He’s helped care for dog after dog, falling in love and saying good-bye again and again.

He wanted to see where our dogs had come from. I asked him why. He told me he wanted to photograph them – and use those photographs to raise awareness. He’s heard me preach again and again, that people just don’t know what is happening in the southern rural shelters, if they did, they wouldn’t stand for it. So, he’d like to take his camera and his talent and go there. Risk his heart, knowing it will be hard.

So, we’re going. We’ve considered many options but finally decided that we will focus on one aspect of the situation. Instead of going to the big county shelters that I have spent so much time in, we’re going to travel to the tiny shelters in western Tennessee, the ones that don’t have a big budget or a lot of dogs or even much of a staff because there are dogs suffering and dying there too. The numbers may be smaller, but the need is just as great, if not greater.

We leave this Sunday to drive just south of Nashville, where we will visit two large shelters – one that I’ve visited before. Maury County Shelter is an open intake shelter that still regularly euthanizes for space.

Later that day we’ll tour a shelter in Franklin, a large progressive shelter that does not euthanize any treatable or adoptable dogs and has a 97% save rate. This will give Ian an idea of the spectrum of traditional shelters.

While we’re in Tennessee we’ll stay with Laura, one of the superheroes of the rescue world I was privileged to meet last September while on the book/shelter tour. I’m excited to spend time and learn from this remarkable generous woman.

We will spend at least two days with another rescue wunderkind, Trisha, from Rural Animal Relief Effort, an OPH partner rescue. We will travel with her several hours west to the tiny municipal shelters reminiscent of the traditional ‘dog pounds’ of my childhood, forgotten places where animals are in desperate need of rescue—many times rescues like RARE are their only hope.

We are still mulling over several other possible stops outside of Nashville to meet more heroes and understand the situation. We leave Sunday, but still don’t know when we’ll come back.

Ian and I are going with no real agenda other than to learn the stories of the shelters, the dogs, the people. To document what we see and try to figure out how we can help, hopefully offer some donated food or treats or other items they have too little of.

We’ve created a blog (WhoWillLettheDogsOut.org) where we will post pictures and stories. I’ve also added a Facebook page and because Ian is not on Facebook and prefers to communicate in pictures, he is creating an Instagram account. We would love for you to follow along on one or all of these sites, to help us spread the word.

As we travel, we will share the needs and the mailing addresses of any of the shelters that will allow it. If you’d like to donate towards our efforts, you can send donations via paypal ([email protected]), donate through our Facebook fundraiser, or send Tractor Supply, Wal-Mart, or Petsmart gift cards which we will use to purchase donations for the shelters once we are in Tennessee.

Which leaves Slat still here with us. He is a smart and independent puppy, so if one had to be left he’s a good one. He’s not a whiner (thank goodness) and is content to play with his toys by himself.

He’s already doing great on a leash and is nearly housebroken. He was zooming around the yard yesterday and inadvertently did a double somersault when his body got ahead of his feet on the hill and it made me laugh out loud. He is good for my heart, but I hope he finds his family soon.

His mom, Thelma, is morphing into quite the character. As I said on her OPH bio, “Thelma will make an excellent mother’s helper, teaching your children not to leave their shoes lying about and to put their belongings where they belong.” There is definitely some beagle in this dog – we haven’t experienced a chewer like this since our very first foster, Galina.

Despite the chewing habit, she is a doll-baby of a dog and will make some family very happy. She enjoys playing with other dogs and has done well with every person she’s met – male, female, older, younger, not matter, she loves them all. She and Flannery have become best buds and when I see them together, I picture Frankie there in the midst of them. He would have loved Thelma.

Daisy is still waiting for her family. She is spending most of her days outside in the playyard, where she is happiest. Health-wise, she is doing great – she’s gotten back her pre-puppy figure and has plenty of happy energy. She’s finally decided that she loves Nick. When he appears, she inevitably gets a case of the zoomies. He still can’t approach her or put a leash on her, but when he is outside, she follows him around and when he sits down, she is all over him with kisses and insists that he pet her. Their improving relationship makes me confident that Daisy could learn to love men, as long as they take it slow and don’t force things.

So, we are full-up on dogs at this foster home but missing the dog of my heart. It will be a slow healing. Traveling to Tennessee and trying to save more dogs feels like something I can do to honor his memory.

I’m not sure I’ll ever love a dog the way I loved Frankie, but I hope I can take that love and channel it towards saving more dogs because I know that he would have loved every one of them. That’s the kind of dog he was. His end was tragic, but his life was a lesson for us all.

Using Youngsters and Parents as Beta Visitors for Kids Fiction
