Shawn is a crow gf, even if he doesn't like something if you give it to him he'll love it forever

Start from the beginning in 6th grade, sit near Shawn and consistently give him stupid little items. He'll hate it at first but he'll grow to love it and chase you

If you get sick he won't leave your side

If he hears someone say anything about you he'll start something even if it was good lmao

If Cory Disliked you he'd break up with you, but he'd still look at you everyday

The first time he introduces you to his parents he doesn't apologize because he's not embarrassed

He always ends up hurt in some way, minorly but he wants you to kiss it better every time he stubs a toe

In reference to the above point, of you don't he'll chase you until he gets it

If you play 7 minutes in heaven he's sly and all but as soon as you get in the closet he gets nervous and flustered

Shawnter headcanon time, Chef Mr Wrestlemania has been cookin

Shawn is the cuddler between him and Hunter. X-Pac got Shawn a body length pillow, but Hunter quietly got jealous of it and hid it.

Hunter isn't too emotional by himself, but he warms up like butter around Shawn. If Shawns crying then Hunter is bound to crack within a few minutes.

Waking up in the same bed was like being stuck in a bear trap because Hunter wont let Shawn go until hes fully awake. Were Shawn not a talented guy, he'd have laundry to do lets put it that way.

While Hunter looks like the grump, Shawn is the firecracker between them and Hunter loves seeing Shawn go off on occasion harmlessly. The passion Shawn has for everything is something Hunter adores.

Hairplay is the quickest way to calm Shawn down. All Hunter has to do is run his fingers through Shawn's hair or rub his scalp and hes pacified.

When Shawn learned how to text, he and Hunter would text randomly even though they were in the same room. It could be a funny picture of a cat or sneaky pics he took of Hunter.

One of their favorite things to do was to raid a Blockbuster back in the day and see if any wrestling stuff was for rent. Mostly for laughs. They would usually leave with their favorite cheesy movies and pass out together on the couch. They'd only get woken up by the static of the vhs tape ending.

Shawn is easily the jealous one and territorial, but Hunter is more protective. He's seen Shawn at his lowest and witnessed his heart broken so many times. Who can blame him for wanting Shawn to be safe? They're each others guard dog to degree.

Shawn being a texas boy, wasn't used to the chill of the north and Hunter would often keep a jacket nearby when Shawn would finally admit hes freezing. He finds it cute when Shawns being cutely stubborn.

Hunter and Shawn have a scrapbook of their old polaroids. They loved writing their own little comments around each picture. Its brought out on special occasions.

finally gonna make a post better explaining my real fake psychic shawn spencer au so this might be a long one bc in the past it was mostly rambles as i came up with ideas and trying to make them fit together

i am in the process of actually writing a fic for this and it’s looking like it may be the first part of a 3 part series, below the cut are a lot more details to give context to my au

okay! couple of important things for the overarching universe:

the supernatural exists! though the population is not as prominent as it once was, so the supernatural world learned to adapt and stay hidden, basically for every 20 claims of something supernatural only one is real, and obviously some cities have higher populations compared to others

because of the dwindling population of the supernatural and the growing population of the mundane, it is expected that both would intermingle, so it is actually a lot more common than you’d expect for people to have supernatural bloodlines, though it is often insignificant enough that it doesn’t matter. sometimes that is not the case. sometimes people are born into still active bloodlines so they grow up in that world and sometimes people never know that they even had supernatural blood, let alone that the supernatural exists. sometimes, even though someone’s bloodline may be dormant (and they are or are not aware of the supernatural) unforeseen circumstances can sort of jumpstart said bloodline

with or without knowing it, people with supernatural abilities or bloodlines tend to gravitate to each other

there are few rules that the supernatural community follows, the most important being to not expose themselves to the mundane

within the supernatural community there are different categories; creatures/those with creature blood (vampires, werewolves, shapeshifters), those with abilities (psychics, druids, witches), sentries (those tasked with keeping the supernatural hidden, and hunters (mundanes who became aware and choose to fight it)

explaining the name, real fake psychic:

when he first started working for the SBPD shawn faked being a psychic to avoid arrest

after season 4, shawn has an encounter with the supernatural that essentially gives him real psychic abilities

he keeps up his fake psychic charade because he can’t really say ‘hey guys i was faking it before but guess what? it’s real now!’

now i will go a little into some of the changes/headcanon/general facts of some characters in my au, starting with the main man

shawn:

he’s mexican! this is not central to the story really but it’s my headcanon so i will work it in because i can

somewhere down the line there is maybe some kind of long forgotten supernatural family member, meaning shawn has supernatural blood

the combination of his childhood and eidetic memory and genius is all him but it definitely gets a small push from his possible bloodline, especially in how he visualizes

after The Incident™️ shawn gets real psychic abilities, at first it’s vague and he doesn’t know what’s happening, but then things get too weird and even he can’t ignore it

true psychics are rare, a lot of people only have some aspects (like divination, clairaudience, etc) but of course, shawn ends up with more than the usual

his abilities, especially at the beginning and when they develop more, are rather painful because he is receiving so much more input now, leading to headaches at least

shawn getting real powers is the catalyst to those around him awakening as well, and now that he and the others are aware of the supernatural, it seems to be more present than they realized

gus:

he’s an amplifier

his ability is kind of a paradox, on its own it doesn’t do much because it is mostly dormant outside giving him the supersniffer, but once shawn awakens it causes a ripple effect, they are now in the supernatural world and as a result gus in turn awakens as well

he can amplify his and other’s abilities; this helps shawn because gus can help him focus on certain visions or to make sense of some things he sees, this makes shawn claim that his is now literally magic head

it is a paradox because without shawn’s powers gus’ wouldn’t have come through and gotten stronger, but he also helps shawn’s get stronger, it’s a loop

gus gets the dormant bloodline from both his parents

shawn is not the only one gus helps

juliet:

she is an empath

she is naturally an empathetic person but once she awakens it gives her more of an understanding that she never had before

juliet gets her bloodline from her mother’s side

once they all figure it out, juliet can also help shawn in a different way, as she can now feel the emotions coming through his visions

gus is able to help juliet develop her abilities more, and she develops a type of danger sense, which comes in handy in their job

her bloodline is weaker so she’s not the strongest empath, and her prolonged exposure to a shield made it harder for her abilities to develop as well

carlton

he is a nullifier

lassie’s ability is that he is essentially immune to the supernatural to a point, things like curses, jinxes, telepathy, etc do not work at all or barely affect him, most physical attacks would still work because he is still human (like poisons or tactile telepathy)

however, this also affects positive things such as blessings or good luck charms

his ability is like an aura around him, meaning that those close around him may be affected as well, such as o’hara who, as his partner, is often exposed and it put a hamper on her own abilities

shawn is also affected, but in a good way; the constant bombarding of psychic readings stop when he touches lassiter, and even just being around him can ease the headaches

this is eventual shassie

unlike the others, lassie is an anomaly, he has no actual supernatural bloodline, he is the first in his (recent) line

henry

he is a non-believing, non-aware, mundane person

he notices shawn acting stranger than usual, he also avoids coming to the house more than usual

he has his own Incident™️ in which he witnesses something that shows shawn is now telling the truth when he says he’s psychic

madeleine

is a whitexican; not exactly relevant other than the fact if goes with my mexican shawn headcanon

it is her side that had the supernatural bloodline

just like her son, if she were to awaken she would probably develop some minor abilities, most likely clairaudience

SBPD

for the most part, unaware of the supernatural

anyone born into or active in the supernatural community stays away from the police as they tend to live outside mundane laws and prefer to police their own

few key players in charge of or above the police may be aware or are a part of the community

the fact that a psychic and friends with abilities work for the police becomes controversial

chief vick is unaware but someone close to her is not

So I feel like Hunter first consciously began questioning his gender when he got close with Shawn; to me Shawn seems the type to call Hunter pretty as an absent minded compliment but to Hunter it was so much more, he couldn't stop Shawn's words rattling around his mind for weeks, being called pretty really started making him question things about himself.

However, although it took Shawn calling him pretty to make him start questioning things I feel like subconsciously he'd been questioning his gender ever since he debuted his wrestling persona of 'Hunter Hearst Helmsley.'

I feel like he took so easily to that persona is because, to him, being an upper-class gentleman was the only way he could be pretty while maintaining his masculinity as he could say anything effeminate about him was merely part of his character.

Wearing a bit of makeup? It's not because he likes it, it's because he's committed to appearing as elegant as he can to fit his character, he's wearing stereotypically more feminine clothes? It's only because it makes him appear elegant in his lace shirts and silk jackets.

He was secretly really upset once he put that character behind him and became 'Triple H' because not only does he have to play a much more stereotypically manly character but he has nothing to hide his less masculine traits behind.

He was probably jealous of Shawn for so long, he was able to be so flamboyant, so sexually ambiguous, he was able to be whatever he wanted and everybody still viewed him as a standard of masculinity; why couldn't Hunter be extended this privilege, why was he burdened with the curse of hegemonic masculinity? Once his jealously towards Shawn shifted to longing, longing to have the freedom he had, to not care what people think like he did I think he'd get really drunk with Shawn one night and accidently tell him everything, the way he feels, the way he perceives himself as a man and is happy with that but he wishes when people perceive him it would be as both a woman and a man.

Not to self insert but I feel like, like myself, he perfectly understands how he feels about his gender but he can't put words to it, he can't put a label on it, nothing feels right when he tries using a label, he uses a fluid label? He feels he's betraying the binary, set in stone aspects of his gender, he uses a binary label? He's reducing himself down to something that doesn't encompass him truly.

Shawn is indifferent to this information in the sense of 'I don't view you any differently, you were my best friend before you told me this and you'll stay my best friend after you've told me.'

Although Shawn is indifferent to the information he makes a conscious effort to try and help Hunter express himself at his own pace and the first way they did this was with makeup; Shawn owns a lot of subtle makeup, he loves to look his best and doesn't see why makeup should be just for women when it's such a life saver.

This is oddly specific but to build on this idea I feel like when Shawn did Hunter's makeup for the first time so he could see how it feels Hunter was absolutely mesmerised by the blush on his cheeks and would end up not going anywhere without having a bit of light pink blush dusted over his cheeks and nose.

I feel like he takes really good care of his lips, like always using vaseline to make sure they're never dry and always look healthy but give this man glittery lip gloss and he will fall in love and use it all the time, bonus points if the glitter is silver.

I do not think he would be completely against the idea of taking oestrogen, he's probably like to take low doses of it if he ever fully committed to HRT, however he is overall indifferent to it; if he never took hormones he wouldn't feel incomplete within his own gender, it could just be a nice little bonus to him if he ever felt he really wanted to.

I do however feel like although he is exploring his more feminine side he wouldn't wear dresses, he just doesn't feel they're his thing [although can I say if they were he would rock a red floor length dress that hugged his curves just right], but when he went to formal events he'd experiment wearing less typically male formal attire [like a ruffled red dress shirt instead of a white one, it's a subtle change but he feels great when he does it.]

Speaking of formal fashion I feel like another thing he'd experiment with is shoes, he feels like wedged shoes are a good middle ground between the black formal shoes men and heels.

Probably heals his past self by allowing himself to indulge in socially accepted feminine acts like for example I feel like he loves baking, he baked with his mum growing up but he was made fun of because it's 'a woman's thing.'

Pronouns wise he says he doesn't care if people use either he, she or they but sometimes when he hears people use she/her he's like a giddy little kid.

Just reiterating how much he loves to be called pretty.

I also feel like being secure in his gender helps him become secure within his sexuality [I personally see him as bisexual]; before he'd be so flustered and paranoid if he did anything that he thought felt gay in public, what if somebody saw?, But since feeling more comfortable with his gender he proudly kisses Shawn live on Raw without giving it so much as a second thought because it's just a show of affection between him and his friend.

Season 2 final thoughts:

My apologies to my Psych mutuals, my hyperfixation took me on a trip to Hatchetfield and very soon it’ll be in cinderellas castle. It can’t be helped. I plan on finishing my rewatch, especially because I’m about to get into one of my favorite seasons, but it’ll probably be sporadic at best.

Here are my final thoughts on season 2!

This is the official season of lassie stumbling upon shawn and gus by happenstance. He does it in american duos, dis-lodged, black and tan, and im counting lassie standing in front of his pic at the museum. He can push them away as much as he wants but shawns like a boomerang.

I find it incredibly disrespectful that shawn and gus took credit for finding that dinosaur when that one guy literally died for it . Also im pretty sure it would be impossible for a t-rex to be discovered in california because it was all underwater at that time. But thats neither here nor there.

Shawn being a forgery/handwriting expert brings up a funny/depressing image of little shawn having to write lines but in different peoples handwritings

Shawn is an incredibly fast thinker! He saw this scene

And not only deduced what actually happened, but also came up with a cover story for him at the same time.

Word of the day Abulic: abnormal lack of ability to act or to make decisions. Psych writers just casually dropped that little pearl in the middle of a scene in the finale

Overall it was a great season! Juliet got some more scenes, plus her character is beginning to get fleshed out, Gus was even funnier than i remembered, the heartfelt moments were very well acted especially by james who nailed the whole avoidant turmoil of it all. Henry, though, as ive stated in previous posts, is a lot harder to watch as a full fledged adult. He’s just such a prick to shawn any chance he can get. I’m so curious if I’ll be able to forgive him myself down the road. I mean, no wonder Shawn split when he turned 18 and hardly spoke to him again. Man, i wish we could’ve seen Shawn right after he left cause that is one juicy peach. He’d just be all angsty, jumping from one job to the next, getting fired or losing interest (or my personal headcanon is that his gifts of seeing everything kept getting him in some sort of trouble kind of like Poker Face (with natasha lyonne)).

You could see his friend, Diesel, peeking out the corner of the hallway, shooting Shawn encouraging looks. You never failed to fix whatever Shawn gave you and he never failed to talk your ear off. It became a routine. He would go to you, talk, then leave. You liked it.

→ You finished mending his gear and he walked away with a spring to his step. You weren't an idiot and Shawn wasn't as slick as he thought he was. The rip on his tights wasn't from an accident, the seams were too clean for it to be. You suspected Shawn ruined his own gear with a pair of scissors to have an excuse to talk to you. And your suspicions were correct.

→ He soon approached you just to be with you, no sewing favors needed. Shawn would watch you while you worked like a child, piping up when need be ("Y'know, Hunter told me he liked glitter on his gear" "Really?" "Cross my heart, he told me")

→ It was after a house show in Utah when Shawn first asked you out. He was still tired from his match. With sweat-soaked hair and a busted lip, he invited you to dinner the moment he got backstage.

→ Shawn would share his gear ideas with you. They were outlandish. Zebra patterned chaps? Golden tights? Mirrors??? He was passionate about it and you found it oddly endearing. You try your best to sew whatever he was talking about. To test out his gear's durability, he does his little jig, jumping around. He purposely exaggerates his 'dancing' to make you laugh.

→ He often steals some of your jewelry to wear to the ring. Especially the dangling earrings you hardly ever wore. You ended up giving them to him anyway, it didn't seem like he was going to return them anytime soon.

→ When he doesn't have a match scheduled, you two would spend time together backstage in your little sewing corner. He tried to sew his own gear but it didn't come out like he wanted it to. He ends up cutting fabric for you instead. You two judge wrestler gear on the down low.

→ Shawn immediately looks for you after his matches, no matter how tired he is. He loves it when you praise him for his work. His eyes would light up and a stupid smile would spread on his lips. In return, he compliments your sewing skills, both your cheeks tinted pink
