hoa issue 2 murdered me and i am manifesting horseman rictor... realistically he'd probably be pestilence however he has a unique relationship with death and so i went with that here! in that same vein, i did a modified version of his excalibur costume (plus the cloak) because of the vibes and the fact that that's what he was wearing when he reconnected with his powers.

i also went with dani and cable because they're the closest to ric out of the main cast, along with star because a guy can dream.

“All we do is sit around and talk about how great having innate magic is” wah wah wah anyway I do think Jace is good with the freshman sorcerers. Sorcery is abt self knowledge & I’ve been in a lot of school theater and there are times when the instructor wants to actually teach but for like 5 different kids who are in a play for the first time and deathly shy and cast as bit parts part of the teachers whole Deal something is literally just. getting them to build up the confidence to project their voice so that ppl can hear them fuckin speak. & feel good about themselves.

That being said I think he’s terrible with the upperclassmen bc now you’re getting into a place where the kids are more self assured and looking for guidance on like. Discipline and technique and Jace is just like look idk how to explain it to you. the girls who get it get it. They definitely like him bc he lets them get away w anything but they’re definitely too comfortable w treating him like a friend. One time one of the kids asked him what podcasts he listens to and when one of them asked wtf is the complicated women podcast he said “what is the complicated women podcast???? Kill yourself”

okay but imagine if jace and henry were together/hooking up before jace got shatterstarred. like henry’s new to the school, he’s a little nervous, the only person he knows is his nephew who barely talks to him after his sophomore year spring break, and the sorcerer teacher is nice and cute and it can’t hurt to have a more-than-friendly face around school, right?

and then jace disappears and all of sudden he doesn’t have the time of day for henry—and what’s almost worst, he’s spending all of his time around porter, of all people. he guesses it makes sense why jace is more irritable and downright mean; he supposes spending all that time around a barbarian is bound to rub off on the sorcerer—in more ways than one. but still, he can’t help but miss when jace was the one he could fall back on, at the end of the day. he misses his smile.

this is not supported at all but it will make me feel less insane as to why wade counts rusty as one of his closest family/whole world people when he was literally just a two scene joke in dp2 where deadpool didn't particularly like him (i love that they brought him back i'm just so so confused)

Thing is I enjoyed DP&W in the moment but going back and watching the first two Deadpool movies I'm really curious how tf we got from literally traveling through time to save her life to Wade and Vanessa being broken up. Not to mention the absolute stupidity of her dating someone from work...not unrealistic but please tell us what Vanessa works as. Please, Disney, tell us. where does Vanessa work. Disney. Shatterstar feels it happen. He is in the garden, tending to the plants. He enjoys gardening, although not nearly as much as Julio does. He prefers succulents. They are hardy, and do not require much maintenance. They take up little space and they keep to themselves. They even come in interesting colors. And they are cheap, too. Every time he sees one at the grocery store, he liberates the weakest looking one, because he wants it to thrive. Julio had laughed when he explained, bright and fond, and then kissed him. "God, you're such a dork," he snorted against Shatterstar's lips, and Shatterstar had smiled and kissed him right back. He is in the garden, and the world is falling apart because he feels the connection in his chest snap, like a rope pulled taught and caught against a blade. One moment, Julio is there, and the next, he is gone. Simply gone. Shatterstar has only experienced this feeling once in his life, the scrape of a knife blade against the inside of his ribs hollowing him out. He knows this feeling, and he is caught between shock and grief. He bends, like the branch of a tree in the winds of a storm, and clenches his fists in the dirt. He waits for everything to snap back into place. He silently begs for this emptiness to abate. It does not. It stays, hollow and cold and painful and terribly familiar. This feeling is familiar because he felt it when Julio died on Krakoa. A great and terrible ache returns, and his tears soak the freshly turned soil.

Something about a Pygmalion take on Jaceporter is so appealing to me… in that way that Porter reveres power and domination… the tension between his desire to seek out and keep a Jace as a perfect spineless compliant lackey vs a need to remake Jace in the image of someone who is powerful and dominant and assertive. Jace that is complacent and cowardly and passive is a Jace he can use and control but never respect, and he loves what that Jace can do FOR him. But as Jace is transformed by rage, a Jace who is furious and oppositional and autonomous and actualized and powerful and is able to stand in the face of Porter and tell him he cannot stay even if it means death is a Jace he can respect and maybe even admire but no longer control. In the same way Henry Higgins cannot truly make a Lady until she has outgrown him, (“Eliza you’re magnificent. 5 minutes ago you were a millstone around my neck and now you’re a tower of strength. A consort battleship. I like you this way Eliza” “goodbye professor Higgins”). Because conflict is at the heart of war, Porter cannot truly anoint a Saint of the God of War until Jace has outgrown him.
