Leading the Mandolorian Super Commandos is Gar Saxon. Though he prefers to lead from afar with his sniper rifle. That being said, he’s no Crosshair with his shots.

Well, I’m all abuzz with progress so let me introduce you to the first 2 of my Bee2 B2 Super Battle Droids.

These guys have more than a sting in their wrist mounted lasers. Looking sharp, it’s good to see the CIS is following proper health and safety with these guys.

Although I have gone slightly loopy with painting chevrons, only two more of these to go.

Captain Rex of the 501st. The challenge of painting white. Still a challenge.

Trooper for the 501st. Working on giving them the dirty vibe. Though there are plenty more Clone Troopers I could paint, I don’t think I’ll make my way around to them.

Mandolorian Super Commandos from Star Wars Shatterpoint. This past week has been an exercise in red and black.

Finishing the week out with Lord Maul. Really enjoyed how my true metallic metals turned out with his legs. My time with non-metallic metal is paying off. One more squad done for Shatterpoint.

Anakin Skywalker is the last model of the Shatterpoint Core Box to be finished. As you might be able to tell, I had fun with the object source lighting effect from the lightsaber.

Work started on the Kraken Super Tactical Droid. Always imagined it in a purple ish colour, and I’ve been wanting to push my ability when it comes to lighting on models.

Overall It’s looking pretty good to me so far. Just got to get the rest done to the same level now.

Well, over the past few days I’ve managed to knock out all of the remaining parts of the Kraken (except the eye lenses, always forget those).

Think this is up there as one of the best models I’ve painted. Happy with all aspects of the paint I put on it, just need to get the base right really…

Leggings and the sides of the boots done, just the raised section of the boots to go.


First thought is a reddish-brown leather look, would keep with the theme of a lot of red. The other thought I’ve had is more of a bone and brown theme to add a bit of a different colour to the model.


Opinions and thoughts? Maybe something different?

Main part of Savage Opress done. Rather happy with how my NMM is coming along on smaller areas, got the feel I wanted on the armour as well.

Time to knock out some of the extra bits before getting the green smoke done (aiming to knock it out in one day this time).

Yub Nub! The Ewoks have ambushed the painting table and progress is good. Enjoying playing with colours and textures across the fur and hoods.

The pouches, straps, weapons and other pieces shared across models will be done at the same time but knocking out one Ewoks fur and hood a day (so far), feels pretty good.

These two are from one of the multi bases, but all of them have such great character and the sculpts really capture the Yub Nub vibes. And I really do like Ewoks, just have to check one of my SWGoH accounts for that.

Finished up the second Nightsister. Lot of interesting bits here, the bow being that pale green, the gold having a green tone to give it that slightly aged, mystical look without making super matte and shaded. And the high contrast red tone over most of the model.

A lot of thanks to my good friend Tom for coming up with a lot of the scheme for this one, next one will probably be different from this one and Talzin before.

Ideas are always welcome for any part of a dual sword wielding hoodless Nightsister.

Yub Nub for base numero dos of the Ewok Trappers. Got all the lovely little details done.

Gave this lot some bright, colourful feathers and each of them got a unique colour of their spear grips. Had quite a lot fun doing it, and now we are just the two named characters to go before working on the bases.

Also, did the spear heads as a stone style material, and while drybrushing would have been the fast, easy and effective way to do it on a textured surface. I’ve been one for fast painting, and instead did a nice gradient and built up a pretty decent transition. Reminds me I should get photos of the other spears heads which are marbled and quite nice (if subtle).

Still need to find some names for these three and one of the other group. Please, if you have a suitably Ewok name for one let me know.

Savage is done, and with just bases to do for the Witches of Dathomir box (waiting on post to arrive for that), it’s time to move on to the next exciting Shatterpoint project.

Really quite happy with how Savage Opress has turned out. Definitely smashed the goal of dark tones with colour. And the smoke might be my favourite out of the four models in this box with how it interacts with the sculpt.

So get ready for a surprising set of choices which colours and schemes with the Appetite for Destruction box next.
