Day 25 : Santa (Free)

OM OM OOOOM ! Merry belated Christmas!

Being late has been a credo of mine this month. :P

First time drawing one of my favorite female characters of all time, and it just had to be Christmas-related? Oh well, Genjo had it worse dressed as a reindeer against his will in a certain scene. 😁

Some youkai children put rope on their own clothes to imitate Sharak's "tail", human children also do that. This trend makes Sharak and her army smile. Kids are all the same, no matter which species they are from. They all need special celebrations to help them forget the dangerous situation they're living from both sides. Protecting their future starts with protecting their smile.

Anyhow, i do hope some of my pics made several Saiyuki fans smile as well. I sure enjoyed drawing them, it was quite inspiring.

Month of Saiyuki (day 26)

The boys all get a Tumblr account! What do they like to post?

Goku: he would probably post a mix of food-related stuff (mostly dishes he eats) and physical training stuff i.e. powerlifting and body building.

Sanzo: obscure quotes from Cha'n teachings but those would be posted very infrequently because he is not a social media guy (he doesn't give me this vibe at least)

Hakkai: a blog about books, nerd culture, recipes and sometimes pics of Hakuryuu

Gojyo: selfies, reblogs from hotties, music and random humour

Hakuryuu: Hakkai would make a blog for him and in this blog he would talk about his life and daily challenges with Sanzo Ikkou members (mostly how to take care of them XD)

Yaone: she would post about alchemy, inner alchemy and some beauty-related stuff

Lirin: memes, pics of food and reblogs from Goku's blog and Hakkai's posts about cooking. Goku might follow her back as well especially for the food stuff.

Kougaiji: metal music and random obscure stuff about magic

Dokugakuji: maybe vlogs and a reblogs from Kougaiji's posts (they would follow each other).

Gyokumen Koushu: selfie, selfies and more selfies (she has a big ego after all and social media would only boost it).

Ukoku: a blog about the dark aspects and implications of Science just for the sake of making people feel uncomfortable. He would have a porn second blog and would stalk everyone's blog (minus Lirin), especially Sanzo Ikkou's blogs. Sometimes he might even act like a troll. He would then become bored and would deleted some of his posts if not the entire blog.

Hwang: personal blog about her interests and science-related stuff. She would secretly follow Gyokumen's blog with a secondary blog. A side blog about clothing might be her way to express her interest in Gyokumen.

Zakuro: lots of metal music-related stuff and reblogs from different blogs (mostly inspirational quotes XD).

Koumyou Sanzo: pics of his temple, Kouryou, tea and cigarette brands, quotes from Buddhist monks and random non-sense posts (mostly because he is not used to social media).

Sharak Sanzo: survival tips in the woods that even Bear Grylls would envy her and advice in fighting youkai.

Taruchie: none, she has no time for this.

I made a happy-squeal when I saw her for the first time. I thought she was secretly a villain but I'm so glad she's not. She's pretty too.

Lady from Devil May Cry

How I could not include Lady? She's Lady! Another bad ass who keeps Dante in line.

Mizu from Blue Eye Samurai

I like to portray Mizu as nonbionary but in canon she's female. Still, Mizu is a genderless icon to me so I'm adding them.

Namaari from Raya & the Last Dragon

Badass warrior princess. I wish the movie had more focus on her rivalry with Raya. Namaarie has great potential as a character & deserved more screen time.

Star Wars OCs introductions

Name: Syl Moonflower/Pearl Daoin. Pronouns: fluid. Species: near-human. Arrived at temple: 44 BBY.  Syl arrived at the Jedi Temple, injured and their memory almost completely blank, the only clear thing they remembered being their own name. After their recovery, and some debate in the Jedi Council, they got accepted to learn as a Jedi Padawan. They graduated to Jedi Knight between 32 and 31 BBY. Even before they got their own Padawan, they already helped train and raise other padawans and younglings, mainly with her friends. Around the start of the Clone Wars, they were assigned a Padawan in the person of Kecellia Vriatino. As the war went on, they started to question the Republic and the role of the Jedi Order within it, something that led the relations between them and the Council to become rather strained. As the tensions came to their peak, Palpatine executed Order 66, which they were able to survive, taking Maskaulat with them. They stayed a fugitive for years upon years, running from both the imperials and their grief. They joined the rebellion in its early stages, often going on incognito missions for them. They met and quickly bonded with Veyemi N’dah, who basically became part of their family.

Name: Kecellia Vriatino/Hunt. Pronouns: she/they. Species: nautolan. Birth: 36 BBY. Kecellia Vriatino was born on Glee Anselm and brought to the Jedi Temple when she was around three years old. Eleven years later, at fourteen years old, she was taken on as Padawan by Syl Moonflower. She fought in the Clone Wars with her master and their legion, soon bonding with clone trooper Druid. When Order 66 got executed, she found herself caught in an explosion that heavily damaged her eyes, rendering her blind. When they soon realised that Jedi were being hunted, she morphed herself to hide her former identity, changing her name and turning her personality upside down. She started to work as a bounty hunter to make a living, which kept her from staying too long in one place.

Name: Maskaulat (Daoin/N’dah)/CFe-626. Pronouns: they/them. Species: droid. Creation: 38 BBY. Created by Syl Moonflower when they were still a Padawan, Maskaulat was initially a translator droid but evolved into something, or someone, much more versatile. The droid could almost always be found near their creator, who they basically considered their parent. After a certain point, the droid was the one to write their own programing, able to develop their own upgrades and spread their range of skills by themself. They often worked with Jedi along with Syl, slowly gaining a taste for sarcasm and discrete insults, finding it quite amusing to try and see how far they could go before being called out or reprimanded. 

Name: Veyemi N’dah/Sharak. Pronouns: she/her. Species: pantoran. Birth: 42 BBY. Veyemi was born to the Sharak family, a pantoran family that was highly devoted to the Moon Goddess. She grew up learning all the proper offerings, prayers and worship practices. When war eventually came to her homeworld, she started studying warfare, strategy and the history of pantoran and galactic wars on her own, reading every book on the subject that she could get her hands on. Once the Galactic Empire took over, in her early twenties, she was quick to join the growing rebellion, which led her to meet Syl, at that time Pearl, and Maskaulat. When she started climbing the ranks of the rebellion, she changed her last name to N’dah, hoping to protect her family from the Empire. As time went on, she became a well respected battle strategist for the rebellion.

Name: Captain Niks/CT-8520. Pronouns: he/him. Species: human (clone). Birth: 32 BBY. An important clone captain of the 306th legion in the Grand Army of the Republic, Niks served under General Moonflower and Commander Vriatino. Though he was of course close to his General and Commander, the one he considered more of a friend was the droid Maskaulat. Their relationship was rather close, consolidated by their shared snark towards others.

Name: Druid/CT-1618. Pronouns: he/they. Species: human (clone). Birth: 32 BBY. Druid was a clone trooper who served in the 306th legion and additionally worked as an occasional mechanic and medic for his legion. When they started fighting with the Jedi as their General and Commander, he started to befriend Kecellia Vriatino, partially through the latter often losing her lightsaber and him almost always being the one to return it to her.

The Sanzo party has met a lot of colorful characters on their travels! It's been about 15 years since I've read the original Saiyuki manga, but even then, I couldn't fit every memorable character here

Arthur is a standard nutcracker with a modification in the form of a personal radar, it was produced before the war. The security model of the Frank Banepti estate, in its duties, had patrolling the territory, as well as the outside. She also usually accompanied the heir of this estate on hunting trips, and has binoculars and a rifle with her.

She got to Gashal and Sharak much later, after the war in which she participated and was abandoned, her consciousness plunged into a pool of sleep, the scavengers found her and took everything that was worth it, and the damaged nutcracker was thrown out on one of the moons
