Rich Reader helps Carl when they are getting evicted

Carl couldn’t stand what was happening to the house, but he wasn’t going to bring you into it.

He thought with Fiona’s loan looming over his head it seemed possible. After the auction, he didn’t want you finding out.

That particular early morning, you heard the sound of your parents popping champagne in the kitchen, and you walked up to them and asked, “What are you guys celebrating?”

You dad answers, “You know our top salesmen got a house bought in the area we are trying to buy out; When any of them go down, it just means another one, and another one, and ano-”

“I get it.”

Seeing yet again no response from Carl, out of sheer boredom you look over at the stack of papers on the kitchen counter top and you ask, “Do you mind if I take a look?” Your moms eyes go wide and reach for the papers, which causes the papers to fall.

In distaste, your mom says, “Look what you did.”

You apologize and help pick them up and a familiar picture catches your eye. It was the Gallagher house, having been sold and marked with the day before.

You stand up and shout, “What is this?!”

Your father responds nonchalantly, “Don’t get all riled up…”

“Why the hell would you do this?”

“Not us. It’s just apart of the workload. We didn’t do it personally.”

“Yeah I’m sure. You hate Carl.”

“Yes, we don’t like that boy you hang out with. However, we didn’t go looking to do this. It’s just a bonus.” You shake your head at them and leave the house.

You are on the way to the Gallagher house when you see Carl sitting on a bench at the school track with Nick.

You go up to him and shove him before screaming, “Why didn’t you fucking tell me, bone head?”

Nick stands up, and Carl waves him off. Nick goes onto his bike and begins to ride the track. You shove Carl once more and wait for a response. He yells, “What are you on about women?!”

“Don’t fucking start, Carl!”

The threat calms him down as he lowers his voice and says, “What is it Y/N? Geez…”

“Uhmm…I don’t know. Your house being sold.”

“Shit.”

“Yeah, Shit. Why didn’t you tell me?””

“I didn’t want to worry you.”

“Carl...It’s me.”

“You wouldn’t have this problem.”

“Ouch…However, fair.” He snickers. You put a hand on his shoulder and comment, “You can tell me anything Carl. I’m here for you whatever you need.”

“Well, really there isn't much to do. They outbid us last night…Even after Fiona getting a loan, and everyone else scraping up what they could.”

“I could’ve helped.”

“No. Fiona didn’t want my money. I doubt she’d want yours. She wouldn't’ have taken it.”

“But, still-”

Carl's phone rings. It was Debbie, and she was freaking out. You could hear it as she yelled, “I need you like fucking now!” Carl looks over to you and says, “The cops are taking our stuff out.” You stand up and tell him, “Well, let's go.” Carl waves Nick over, and you head over to the house.

You can’t believe the sight of the he cops just taking their things out the house and throwing them like nothing. Carl notices that you haven’t moved from your spot and asks, “You’re not coming?”

“I have to do something. Before i go-” You hug Carl close, which gave you the chance to grab at Carl's gun.

You weren’t sure you’d need it, but something instinctive told you to take it,

Getting home, your quick to find the paper from the morning, you call the new owners, as you get ready to print a new contract that you’ve seen your parents make time and time again.

“Hello, thank you for your latest purchase without us. I was just calling to see if we could finish some final things today.” As they agree, you continue to say, “Great. Where can we meet?...A cafe? Would you mind texting the address to this number? Okay. I’ll see you there.”

Having all you paperwork, you rush to your room clearing out your savings and grabbing your checkbook. Then, you head over towards the city.

The couple look at you surprised, and they say,

“I’m sorry I thought we were supposed to be-”

“Meeting my parents?”

“I’m sorry for all the confusion.” You present an envelope to the table. “You recently bought that house; Now, my friend is going to be homeless. I know this isn’t your problem. However, I can still make this even better. I’ve got about 300,000 its way more than the cost you paid for the house and with that you could probably buy a new house. I have this contract of you releasing the house and your money from the auction will be given back. You just have to sign.”

“I don't know about this.”

You put on your best Carl impression before showing the gun in your pants and say, “Your going to fucking sign before I pop you right here.” You were shaking on the inside at all of it. However, they were quick to sign and rush out of there with the money. You let out air before grabbing the papers and trying to rush back to Carl. This had to have worked.

The police stand in front of Fiona, Carl, and Debbie. You take your keys out the car and slam the door shut and shout, “Stop right there!”

They all look at you funny.

You pull up the papers and look to Fiona before saying, “Fiona, I need you to sign this!”

“What is it?”

“Trust me.”

Fiona does so, and you unconsciously shove the papers at the cop. The cop asks, “What's this?”

You respond, “An agreement from the buyers. They've changed their minds about the house.”

“That means nothing.”

“It does when they sign the house off to Fiona, who has the means to pay any debts on the house and buy it back in full with this check.” You hand it off to the guy. “Getting the bank off our backs.”

They all cheer before Fiona comments, “Please leave my property. I’ve got cleaning to do.”

With grim faces, the police leave

Fiona hugs and kisses you in the cheek. Carl pulls you in right after and asks, “How is this even possible?”

“A combo of my parents and you.”

“Me?”

“Yeah. You.”

You pull out his gun and hand it back to him.

“Shit.” He said before laughing and hugging you again. “Hey, Y/N?”

“Yeah?”

“Forget your parents…You're one of us…Thank you.”

Lip Gallagher x Reader-Taking care of him after a day of construction

Hello! I'm trying to get back into writing, so I am looking into my box to write any requests. Please be patient with me. In the meantime, please enjoy some other fics I have going on.

You get out unreasonably late from work, but your boss insisted you stay a few more “minutes”. 

Your about to finally get off work when you’re reminded that Lip should have been home by now. However, something in you told you to call him. 

It rings for so long that you can only assume he’s sleeping. Feeling guilt, your about to hang up when his voice rings out, “Hey, Y/N!”

“Hey?...You sound very lively at this time of night.”

“Yeah. Just out at the bar.” “Out at the bar? Everything okay?”

“Yeah. Yeah. You don’t need to worry about me. Just out with the guys.”

“Them?”

“The construction guys. It was a work requirement, and-Wait, why are you up so late?”

“Work too actually.” 

He gives a slight laugh and replies, “Well, ain't that a bitch.” 

“Yeah. It is.”

“Wait a minute, you're walking home all alone then.”

“I’m fine, Lip. Just get home safe. Okay?”

“Wait!”

“Yeah?”

“Let me walk you home. I’ll be right there. I’m pretty sure I know a shortcut to your job from here.”

“Lip, You really don't have to.”

“But I want to. You right in front or?”

You smile and reply, ”Just a block or two from work.”

“Alright. Be there in two shakes.” 

You're leaning against the wall when Lip comes out of the alley nearby running. You shake your head at him as he pulls up to you breathless. He gives a drunken smile and leans against the wall almost falling onto you, and he slurs out, “Sorry. “ 

“Drank a bit much, huh.”

“Maybe a little.”

“Alright. Well, come on, let's go. It’s getting colder by the second. “

“Alrighty.” 

Getting inside your apartment, you are surprised and pleased to see your roommate not home at the moment. Lip plops onto the couch while you head to the kitchen to see what you can fix up. When you finish, you head over to the couch. 

As soon as you see Lip take his hands out of his pockets, your eyes go wide, and your hands grab onto his. 

You shout, “What the hell is wrong with you?!” 

“What?”

“You’re hands are all fucked up, and you don’t say anything.”

“I’m fine.”

“I'll decide. Your meter of fine is just as fucked as your hands.” 

“Don’t be mad.”

“Of course, I’m mad.” You huff at him and get a bowl, some rags, peroxide, and bandages. 

“It’s not-“ You glare rewards silence from him.

When you finish, you get to eat semi-cold food. You don’t look over at him as you watch a movie.

Halfway through the movie, Lip can’t take it anymore as he kicks your foot gently. You look up and he says, “don’t be mad anymore seriously.”

“Lip, I just wish you cared or said something. It hurts that I care more than you do.”

“Well I love that you care more.” It quirks a smile although you try to stand your ground. Lip notices and hugs you. "You can't stay mad when I'm like this."

"I'll sure as hell try though." You both laugh at the comment, and he kneels in front of you.

He clears his throat and admits, "I'm sorry that I didn't say anything. In my fucked up ways, I didn't think it was a big deal...Since meeting you, I'm just not used to having someone care so much." You nod, and he kisses your hands. The affection only makes you want to be closer as you lean forward and kiss him.

He pulls away and says, "Thank you for taking care of me."

fiona and her kids

today on shameless metas with annie, we’re going to talk about why it’s so important that the writers let fiona canonically decide she doesn’t want kids of her own. because it’s not just about the fact that she raised her siblings since many of them were babies, it’s not just about her becoming their legal guardian, and it’s not just about them viewing her as their mom in certain regards (TWs for brief talks of abortion/miscarriage)

fiona not wanting kids of her own is vital in the context of the show itself. first off, she’s the only female main character on the show who does not carry a baby to term or already have biological children of her own prior to the start of the show. that alone is such a breath of fresh air in a show where being a mother is so ingrained in every other major female character. and it’s especially important considering that she’s been playing this patriarchal trad wife type role in the gallagher family as frank’s chief enabler for so long. no other leading female character is allowed to coast on casual sex for the majority of the show. even when she tries to have a longer term relationship or commit to a marriage, it doesn’t work. why is that you ask? because the whole notion of the long haul is fundamentally incompatible with fiona’s character. she inherited her parents’ impulsiveness, and that in itself is her fatal flaw. every decision she makes is driven by it, and because it is literally impossible to impulsively decide to have a baby (you can decide you want a baby, you can decide to have sex/get pregnant, but pregnancy/true motherhood are not impulsive decisions), it wouldn’t work at all with her character. square peg, round hole.

even in the context of raising her siblings, fiona’s whole character is built on impulsive decisions, recklessness, and wild abandon. to even suggest that she’s the type of woman who would consciously, and with full agency, commit to raising her own babies for at least two decades is lunacy. it goes against everything she aspires towards and everything she wants for herself, especially later in the show. committing 9–10 months for a pregnancy and another 18+ years to a child (and a boyfriend/husband/father on top of that) is so obviously anti-fiona that it would literally destroy her character to have her backpedal into consensually having a child, even if the hypothetical father didn’t stay in her life.

fiona pins her distaste towards having kids on raising her siblings, but in reality it’s also the fact that there is literally no space in her life to raise a child. even if she didn’t have her siblings to worry about, by the time she would have been considering having kids, she’s already made multiple attempts to start a career for herself and she’s continuously been jumping from man to man for instant gratification. the one commitment she’s locked herself into is the one she’s literally forced into out of pure obligation and devotion towards her (in the beginning) infant/toddler siblings who could not fend for themselves. and by the time she realizes what she’s doing, she just keeps going because what is she gonna do, leave two mentally unstable young adults, two preteens, and a preschooler on their own?

now of course, the natural thought is "she's essentially been a mom to her siblings all these years, what's the big deal about having a kid of her own?" fiona may be the closest thing her siblings had to a mom, but she is not their mom. she does not have the maternal instincts that mothers develop from the moment their child is born, because her siblings are not her biological children. she may act maternal, but she’s not inherently a mother at any point. she knows how to love her siblings, but loving your own child is completely different. she’s seen what the lack of a mother’s support and love can do to a kid and she knows that if she’s not 100% sure she could love that kid unconditionally, she should not have kids. so that’s what she does. also, having a kid at 25 or 30 is also essentially hitting the reset button on this big countdown timer she’s had going for almost two decades. it’s why she was so against franny being born (obviously it was insane of her to make debbie’s pregnancy about herself, but it was a very valid fear to have). in the same vein, fiona’s decision to have an abortion was so necessary for her, not only because a baby would quadruple the absolute shitstorm her life already was in s6, but because it goes along with everything her character is meant to represent. she never second guesses herself even when her family tries to talk her out of it, and she never feels any sort of guilt or shame in having an abortion. and honestly i think that that’s just amazing, particularly the fact that she has the option and pursues it actively instead of coincidentally miscarrying (so that narratively she’s not the one to blame for “killing” the baby) or having the kid and going through some forced “learning to love the child because that’s your baby and you’re their mother” arc.

also, in season 8 she maintains her aversion to having kids, which is even more crucial because it shows how even though most of her siblings were over 18, she doesn’t need to be a mother to feel satisfied in her life anymore. when her siblings are little, she says outright that mothering them makes her feel wanted. she doesn’t leave with jimmy steve because she feels her kids need her. but in seasons 7 and 8, she starts living her life independently, moves out, and makes her own money purely for herself. she’s found other ways to feel fulfilled. she never feels some “unexplained void in her soul” now that she isn’t a full time matriarch to her siblings anymore. she is allowed to be her own person, she’s allowed to grow as a character, and she’s allowed to have her own identity. even though she loves her siblings, her life starts to gradually revolve less and less around them, and she’s allowed to be okay with that. so many times a female character will have this major character development, and then suddenly a love interest or a reminder of their past life comes knocking at their door and they’re right back where they started. but not fiona. fiona has goals and ambitions that are purely personal, and we get to see her start to achieve them. and even when she spirals in season 9, she doesn’t regress as a character. she doesn’t seek out the comfort of being wanted because she doesn’t deem that as the most important thing in her life anymore. fiona’s s4 spiral and her s9 spiral are two completely different events (they both involve heavy abuse of substances, but that’s really the only thing they have in common), and this demonstrates how her character has evolved over the course of the show. her s4 spiral ends with her taking personal responsibility for her actions and not blaming them on being some helpless little kid or a victim of her circumstances. meanwhile, in s9, she takes what she’s learned from this and applies it to other areas of her life. she is her own person with her own agency and freedom, and the best way to use that autonomy is to start over somewhere else. deciding to have a kid at that point in her life would not only feel shoehorned in for the sake of meeting some BS societal quota, but once again it would undermine everything her character has been building towards for nine seasons.

so in summary, it is so so incredibly important that the writers never made fiona have her own kids or even want to have her own kids someday because doing so would refute the core of her character. it would lump her in with every other wife and mother in the show and reduce her character to an aspect that should always be secondary (for many women, but especially for her). motherhood was always forced on fiona; it was never her choice, and making it into her choice would not be some badass act of ownership/reclamation. instead it would require her to sacrifice everything she’s worked for and hoped for just for the sake of appeasing the patriarchy, thereby undoing every ounce of development she had undergone throughout her time on the show.

tl;dr : the shameless writers fucked a lot of shit up across 11 seasons but i have to defend them on this topic because god they knew what they were doing by continually having fiona outwardly oppose having kids of her own.

I was living with them crazy ass ppl and cooking dinner and baking cookies for their loco asses 😂😂I was soo in love with Lip I didn’t want to leave the house. It was after Fiona left so I was helping everybody adapt 😂😂🤦🏾‍♀️I have to stop watching “Shameless” late at night. I would be in love with Lip because of his cocky, arrogant, & semi evil ways. I was defending him to Frank & Debbie omggg soo clear as day.

I always fall in love with cocky, arrogant, semi evil man. It never fails 😂😌it’s something about them. Lip Gallagher had my whole heart in that dream last night. I was living with them damn Gallagher all while he was still using dish washing liquid as soap. How like how is it Lip always in my dreams. I wanna dream about Carmy Berzatto but I’m not mental ready for another rewatch of “The Bear” 😩 so I’ll stick to my Lip Gallagher’s dream cause Jeremy Allen White is taking over my life 🥰🥰
