although the point of inktober is continuity, this month has been tragically horrible and the last thing i wanted to do was draw so i quit like three days in lol. i still want to finish the prompts but first i wanted to experiment with some new methods/materials so i drew my favourite thing: george russell's eyes. the dark patches (that i mostly cropped out) are the continents. i had a vision, which obviously didn't turn out but i like the original george sketch so i'm putting this up anyway.

Random silly Sniggle headcanon. Or, more accurately, a stupidly long post about how I think Sniggle birthing work.

Sniggles are in fact a nonhuman species, which hold multiple subspecies, half of which can reproduce. Wiggly and Karaxis Sniggles cant. Bliklo Sniggles reproduce sexually, Nibblenephim and Webby Sniggles reproduce asexually.

The anatomy of different kinds of Sniggles are completely different, and therefore they reproduce in completely different ways as well. But more interestingly, they have different relationships with the concept of young - for a lot of reasons.

Nothing weird below cut [I am not talking about actual birth stuff because that is not a main blog activity], but . If the concept of seeing Sniggles as animals freaks you out? Maybe dont touch read more ? [not sure though - i am so bad at reading what people dont like tbh ]

Karaxis Sniggles are not only incapable of reproduction, but dislike it. They exist sort of like a Phoenix - they live out a full life span, die, and ‘rebirth’ as young again. Therefor, there’s never a need to reproduce since they all come back eventually. They’re actually pretty aggressive towards the young of other Sniggles, and have an ‘egg eating’ instinct to either destroy or eat the young.

Wiggly Sniggles are semi-mammals, with the other quarter of their biology being composed of non-sentient stuff [which is to say, they’re partially just plushies.] They can’t reproduce and don’t have any way of even doing so, but have a strong paternal instinct. Since it’s often unsafe for Sniggles living in the Watcher World to keep their young until they can survive alone, Wigglys Sniggles very often take the eggs and nurse them until a certain developmental point in a juvenile Sniggle.

Speaking of the Sniggles living in the Watcher world, Blinkies Sniggles are the only sexually reproducing type of Sniggle. Females bear eggs, and traditionally the males would nurse them, but due to the bad living conditions that arose from Blinkys gradually degrading temper, it became unsafe to keep eggs anywhere on the premises, for their own safety. Usually reproduction happens on a cycle for them, so eggs are passed off twice a year to the Wiggly Sniggles.

Nibblenephims Sniggles are asexually reproducing. Both genders naturally have offspring once a year, which are usually in the form of small egg clusters, like insects. And LIKE insects, they have a specific location for the eggs that only Nibbly and his Sniggles can access. They do not nurse their young, they just leave them alone in their nesting location until they’re large enough to leave on their own. In fact, they can kind of be jerks to their young.

Webbys Sniggles are all asexually reproducing, and dont have ‘offspring’, instead multiplying in a form of mitosis. The offspring take only a few minutes to be split from the original host, and take a few hours to form sentience. All of Webbys sniggles look similar by default due to this, and compensate by having very different hair and outfit styles. They also look the least human. These sniggles don’t nurse as there isn’t a need to, but usually the ‘parent’ doesn’t leave the offspring for the few hours it takes to fully form, and will be adamant on lingering near it.

hngh. okay first rant post I just think amoneki is so insane especially for how much they care and respect for each other right up until the very end like???

okay first of all there's obviously the way that they outright say (even if it's not directly to each other) that they don't want the other to die

Also the fact that Amon tells Kaneki to take a Break. In the middle of a fight. (Which also adds him to the pool of characters that are trying to tell Kaneki to tell him to just let himself rest for once (who he does Not listen to))

Also the fact that when Kaneki deals his first (and only) potentially fatal blow to Amon Ever, instead of feeling betrayed by the fact that he was trying to avoid attacking him before or thinking "Oh so this is where he finally tries to actually kill me" Amon just calls Kaneki strong. He Cut Off His Arm and Amon's first thought is just to say that he thinks he's strong, even if this should technically be a sort of betrayal to all their previous encounters and a Contradiction to what Amon observed at the beginning of this fight about how Kaneki really wasn't planning on killing him (it's like even though this happened he knows deep down that it wasn't with a real killing Intent).

He doesn't even think about himself or that he might Actually Die he's just thinking about Kaneki even right then and afterwards

(ohhh my god I hate Amon (/affecionate) I have so many Thoughts about him especially thoughts Specifically about how he has a sort of idealized version of Kaneki in his head from the few times they've interacted I could talk about it for Hours (but then I'm gonna be here for ages and I will get So off track) )

And it's also about the fact that. In his final thoughts/words in tg Kaneki opens up with Amon's words; these are his words that have been stuck in his head ever since he first heard them and they are some of the last words he clings to before he's "erased". (When I first saw that line near the opening of the final chapter I almost lost my Shit) Like,

It's about how even up until the end they're thinking about what they said to each other at that first encounter by the river

It's about how much impact they've had and Continue to have on each other even when they're basically Dying (and it's partially the others' fault)

It's about the actually Insane amount of parallels and the flipping of their situations between their first encounter and their last (in the original series)

It's about how neither of them deal the killing blow in an "unfair" fight (when the other is basically disarmed) but once they're on equal grounds that's the closest they've come to Actually killing the other and even then they don't want that to Actually happen and both hold onto that same thought

It's about how the natural thing would be for them to just fight and/or kill the other without a thought but they don't because "This guy's Different"
