Shakespeare: I will create two teenage characters who are explicitly proto-postmodern examinations of the nature of character and fate within fictional narrative. I am their creator and - like their parents within the narrative - I exercise complete control over their fates, no matter how much they struggle against it. They are born like Athena from my mind and doomed to die by my pen, by my complicity in the narrative negligence of them, by my own actions and wishes-
Actor: cool, what's their names?
Shakespeare, father of twins named Judith and Hamnet: uhh…. Juliet and Hamlet.

In fact, after more than a decade of teaching his work, I’ve come to see Shakespeare—at least when he’s writing tragedies—as primarily a horror writer. He might perhaps be the most significant influence in the entire English language to the Gothic, and consequently the modern, horror tradition.
Seen through the lens of a horror writer, Shakespeare’s progression as an artist is not just in his ability to play with structure, form, and character, but rather that he gains a deeper understanding of how to really scare people. As he grew as a writer, he learned there are better ways to emotionally wound an audience than the surface kills and thrills, and it’s this that ends up really defining him as a playwright.

TOP 10 PLAY/MUSICAL CROSSOVERS ON FANFICTION.NET BASED ON NUMBER OF FANFICTION (2009-2022)
To make this bar chart race, all series titles in the Plays Crossovers Section on November 29 (or the closest date to it) of every year were copy-pasted from Wayback Machine to Google Sheets, rearranged according to number of fanworks, and then inputted to Flourish to turn into a bar chart race.
In March 27 2009, FFN launched support for crossover fanfiction. Before this date, authors either posted their crossovers in just one category and noted that it was a crossover in its summary, or posted them in one of the generic crossover categories in the Misc. section (such as X-overs, or Cartoons X-overs). There wasn’t a filter to screen all crossovers of specific fandoms back then.
Originally, the fanfiction list was sorted alphabetically, but was changed to number of fics at around early 2013.
Interestingly enough, the crossover sections don’t seem to be suffering from a total fanfiction discrepancy, unlike the sections for non-crossover fanfiction.
Please refer to this post for more fanfiction bar chart races.
Thanks for understanding and hopefully I didn’t mess up anywhere! 🙏

Logan time!! *smacks him with a metal bat*
Personal headcanons/design things:
The de-facto leader of the sides. Although Character!Thomas is mostly governed by his morality and creativity, Logan is the best at keeping the peace and good relations amongst all the sides. Even before Virgil joined he had amicable relations with the dark sides. Friendly? No. Practical? Yes.
You know what? Yeah. I’ll get a little silly with it. He helped Remus and Janus orchestrate the whole “send Virgil over to the Light Side” thing; He understands those sides of Thomas are sides that are repressed and Repression! Isn’t! Healthy!
Patton thinks that he’s the Get Along Guy but really it’s Logan. Patton has weird standards on who is and isn’t “acceptable” (which change drastically later). But initially Logan is the one holding this Whole thing together and he’s holding it all with twine and scotch tape. He’s endlessly tired.
He and Janus are playing chess and everyone else is playing checkers. In that vein, he also views Janus as an intellectual contemporary (though he begrudgingly finds Patton helpful to discuss thought experiments with as well).
Has a mini fridge in his room filled with triple shots.
Has an info-binder on the other sides—their likes/dislikes etc…
He’s extremely observant.
Always stands like he’s giving a presentation 💀
2nd tallest of the sides, after Virgil.
His room has The Archives (copies of all school notes/info Thomas has ever learned)…Every few years or so he does File Closing (shredding) of any info that hasn’t been pulled on in that time. It’s like the burning of Alexandria to him.
He has a very meticulous file system (it’s analog).
Has a 1990’s style computer. It has one game and that game is chess.
I believe in side solidarity so he also enjoys hosting DND one offs with Roman sometimes (Something something combo of imagination and strategy).
One time Remus got ahold of Logan’s sacred Tumbler Cup and refilled it with something absolutely vile. He has not attempted to do so since.
Now I don’t think Logan knows exactly what the dark sides are per se (in terms of their additions aside from Janus—, or what causes them) but he has his suspicions (something something dehumanization).
Somehow has a connection to the Orange side???

I was in an underground library, fleeing from someone trying to kill me. As I got deeper and deeper into the library, I realized the building was probably alive; luckily, it seemed to be on my side. I managed to hide in a hidden room that somehow had Hamlet (as in the Shakespeare character) in it. He proved to be more of a burden than a help as I had to keep my hand clamped over his mouth to stop him from soliloquizing while the killer was moving around outside. I never found out who the killer was but I did manage to escape to the surface with a still-monologuing Hamlet in tow.
