how it feels to not really like the sonic movies in the fandom

recently i've been thinking abt 10verse and just how far i've managed to push shadow out of his comfort zone irt boscage maze. like, when it comes time for sonic to return to the boscage, shadow isn't just scared. he's terrified. he knows the stakes--their world hangs in the balance--but going back there... with the plants who swallowed him up and made him their puppet... he can't bear the thought of willingly walking back into their grasp. but then, he has to admit that he's useless. that he wouldn't just not be helpful--he'd actively be a hindrance. a liability. it hurts him. the ultimate lifeform, useless? because he can't fend off the combined might of a planet's ecosystem? he feels pathetic. but not even his ego is enough to make his legs unfreeze. like a deer in the headlights, when he stares ahead at the green gate to the boscage, he can't move. he doesn't want to lose himself again. and the thing is, of course sonic wouldn't ask that of him. he just assumes that since they're working together, sonic expects him to go. but sonic is just as aware as shadow that that's a bad idea. plus, sonic already lost shadow once. he doesn't want to lose him again. he tells him that for this part of the story, they're going to split up. taking the initiative, not mentioning shadow's very obvious fear, and telling him that he needs him to go to new yoke. smoothly taking the weight off of shadow and showing that this hellish experience has made him more thoughtful. it makes me crazy

ShadAmy but Shadow grieves Amy the entire time. Not that she's dead yet, but he does know she *will* die one day and leave him alone. Her birthday passes and Shadow silently worries over the day he'll never be able to celebrate it with her because she'll be gone.

He'll see friends go by.

Amy will be gone.

And here he was.

Stuck forever in his 15 year old looking body, made to live forever. Immortality is a blessing and a curse. Especially when he has to live life alone, again. He'll lose all his loved ones again.

He grieves his Rose. Even when she's right there in front of him, he'll grieve her every second of the day because he just already sees the world without her in his future. His beloved Amy Rose. He isn't prepared to lose her one day. He isn't ready to see her light go out.

He grieves. And grieves. But he holds every moment with Amy in his heart, close to him forever. He'll always treasure her, even when she's gone.

You ever think about the idea that Sonic, Shadow and Silver all might have impressively long quills for hedgehog mobians? Cus I do. Cus they all have reasons to. Sonic’s constantly tearing through solid metal and wires, the more buzzsaw like he can make himself the better and the more layers between him and sparking machinery while spindashing also all the better. Shadow’s a living weapon and part alien and he has the same reasons as Sonic to maintain them, also, his quills must be So Weird to other hedgehogs. Why are they so dark? I’ve never seen that stripe pattern in my life. How are they going up so much?? And so on. Silver. Silver dude guy. Post/mid-apocalypse extraordinaire (had to look up that word. why the hell is it spelled like that) Between his insane quills and the telekinesis, touching him if he doesn’t want you to is guaranteed pain. Someone get him some industrial scissors his quills don’t need to be that long anymore.

Imagine being a normal little hedgehog mobian. You’ve been living your life, having your quills carefully trimmed and blunted for your convenience and others’ safety, trying to find a nice balance between lengths so it looks nice without ruining the couch. the couch probably gets ruined anyway but it takes longer than if you were doing nothing. You kinda wish you could grow them out more cus other mobians with just fur do some pretty cool stuff. And one day your town gets overrun by robots by this human dude and you get saved by this blue mobian who you haven’t been able to get a good look at because he’s going So Fast and when he finally slows down you’re like. oh. neat I’ve been saved by a superspeed porcupine-wait no. why’s he look like. hedge hog??? Quills? Why????????? Are they so long what.

This guy has done the equivalent of growing up in a world of sewing needle hair and decided to grow them out to goddamn knife points. How has he not stabbed himself. what does his monthly spending on couches look like? And then two other guys show up. they also get mistaken for porcupines. they are also hedgehogs. What.

They all look cool as hell. plotting to ask them about their quill care routine is in your future. Maybe you’ll ask the pink one that just showed up. She seems like the most normal (wrong.) She might know how they do that.

“I hesitate to praise it… But the rate at which that vixen can bounce back from a fight is admirable given her lack of experience. The example in most recent memory, her fight with that tenrec only left her with a busted up arm. But, just because she can, doesn’t mean she should. If I hadn’t stepped in, I’m certain it would’ve gotten worse.”

I’m curious: would Shadow’s appearance have changed in any way in Silver’s era?

Shadow is immortal and cannot age. Furthermore, since Gerald agreed to work on Project Shadow to try and cure Maria’s NIDS, I believe Shadow is able to heal himself with no issues and scars left over. His prototype the Biolizard is noted to be capable of self-restoration and regeneration, so to me it makes sense Gerald would try to incorporate those traits into Shadow as well. And though we do not know how much time passed between his creation and the ARK shutdown, he looks exactly the same at both moments in ShTH; for the latter, there is not a single indication he has grown or physically changed in any way.

Silver’s era is about two centuries past the current era of the game. Assuming Shadow is still around in the future, which is highly possible since he cannot die... Would he look exactly the same? Would any injury he might have sustained be healed without a trace, not a single scar left in its wake? Would his body not show any signs of growth or maturation, remaining the exact same height and keeping the same physical traits as 250 years ago when he was created? Would he be cursed to always remain physically 15? Would the only thing different about him be his mind, carrying over 200 years of experiences that his body is simply unable to reflect?

It’s honestly saddening to think about.

when it comes to pony designs for sonic characters and what species i think everyone would be there are a lot of characters im indecisive on or have varying answers for depending on which mlp generations rules we are following. but i firmly believe sonic would be an earth pony this is non negotiable
