*Somewhere, a young butterfly cat is flying fast away from the danger, looking scared, only to get caught in a big spiderweb, trying to get out, when it spots a giant spider. The spider looked more....different. like it was a combination of a torso of a person and a body of a spider, with long messy hair and four arms. Their eyes are glowing as one of their hands gently stroked the butterfly cat*

Figured I should post this on it's own since @au-sonic-smackdown has already begun (but I kept forgetting so... a few days later it is lmao)
I'll take this as a chance to ramble a little about this AU as well- putting under the cut tho bc it's gonna get a bit long and is probably a bit disjointed lol
So Sonic in this AU is immortal, right? He's like a demigod kinda. But so are Shadow and Tails (Shadow being the Ultimate Lifeform and Tails being a kitsune). They live far into the future, long enough to meet Silver as a child and see him grow, and will live far longer still.
Sonic is a nomad and lives anywhere as long as it's off the grid. He doesn't like other people knowing of his immortality out of fear that it will be exploited somehow. Eggman Nega would eventually prove that fear true, and some of his scars are from encounters with him.
(Some scars are from his childhood, but the prominent one running down his torso and the one in his ear, as well as a few other big ones covered by bandages, are relatively recent. They're indicative of some of the ways he has died before, if you're willing to take a guess.)
Shadow has taken over the role as Mobius' current hero, at least in the eyes of the public, but Sonic has remained a hero of legend. Silver also does his fair share of hero-ing, too, and is constantly chasing after Nega and foiling his plans with Shadow's help. Sonic will come in and help often, but leaves just as quickly as he came, often remaining unseen.
Meanwhile, Tails uses his kitsune powers to appear as a regular fox and hide his status as immortal. He poses as a local mechanic in Onyx City (the city from Archie Sonic Universe's Silver Age arc, but like. A good future instead of a dystopia) and helps Shadow and Silver covertly with his advanced tech.
When he's not saving the world from impending doom, Sonic either wanders the world to find places to nap in, hangs out with Tails or Shadow, or is hunted down by Nega.
Sonic's immortality allows him to regenerate and come back whenever he dies. The Chaos Energy inside of him won't let him die, he just heals and comes back, but it often leaves a scar, especially if the injury is severe. It's left him with chronic pain and fatigue. He uses a cane he carved himself out of a stick, unless in werehog form, where he just walks on all fours instead.
As a werehog, he's extremely irritable and pretty feral, but since he can control when he transforms most of the time (except new moons), he avoids transforming unless the boost in strength is absolutely necessary.
He's gotten pretty attached to lots of old things that remind him of his friends. Even if those things have started to decay, he hoards them in secret burrows across the world and refuses to let them go. His memory is not the greatest and has gotten worse as he aged, so he holds onto things that remind him of his late friends to ensure they live on in some way.
Anyways, that's all I have for now. Go vote for your favorite Sonic in the smackdown!

Love never fades [Sukuna x reader]
{So it's been a while since i've written anything so please go easy on me. Any tips are appreciated!!}
Summary → So what happens if the Ryomen Sukuna had a lover who was powerful, if not more powerful than he?
Warnings — Ooc Sukuna obviously 🥱
WORDS → 905
Please Enjoy
{Edit—I CANNOT BELIEVE I DIDNT FIGURE OUT I HAD PASTED THE ENTIRE THING TWO TIMES OMG PLEASE HELP MEEEE 💀}
The wind howled through the ancient pines, its mournful song echoing through the vast, dark and quiet domain. Inside, skulls of all sizes some big others small ,bathed in the dim glow. Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses, sat cross-legged, his crimson eyes narrowed in contemplation. He was a contradiction: a being of immense power, yet trapped within the body of a young man, (Yuuji Itadori) his spirit restless and his hunger insatiable. His gaze fell upon a single, crimson blossom that floats in the red water below, its delicate petals shimmering in the lamplight. He recognized it – a foxglove, a potent symbol of the fox spirit, (Name) Akuma. She was the most powerful kitsune, her cunning and magic unmatched. Yet, unlike Sukuna, who relished in chaos, she sought balance, a fragile harmony in a world teetering on the edge of ruin.Their paths crossed by chance. Sukuna, drawn by the scent of power, sought to consume her. (Name), sensing his approach, had offered him the foxglove as a truce, a proposition for a partnership of sorts. Their initial meetings were fraught with tension, a dance between predator and prey, yet, amidst the clash of their wills, a strange fascination was born.Sukuna was captivated by (Name)'s unwavering strength, her defiance in the face of his overwhelming power. (Name), in turn, was drawn to the raw, untamed energy that pulsed within him, a mirror to the darkness that she had fought to contain within herself. Their conversations, often veiled in veiled threats and cryptic pronouncements, gradually shifted to exchanges of wisdom, their clashing philosophies blurring into a shared yearning for something more. One evening, under the watchful gaze of the moon, Sukuna found (Name) by the temple pond, her form shifting between a beautiful woman and a white fox, the transformation fluid and mesmerizing. She spoke of her longing for a world where peace could bloom, a world where beauty and power were not at odds. Sukuna listened, his eyes mirroring the silver light that danced in the pond. The air crackled with unspoken words, a yearning that transcended their cursed existences. The King of Curses, the most feared being in the Heian Era, felt a glimmer of something he had never known – a desire, a craving for something beyond destruction.Their hands brushed, a spark arcing between them, a potent alchemy of shadows and light. In that moment, they knew. This was not a truce, it was a beginning, the dawn of a love story that could rewrite their destinies, a love that defied the very fabric of their existence. The future, however, remained uncertain. Love, for them, was a dangerous gamble, a fragile flame that could easily be extinguished by the winds of fate. But as they stood together, bathed in the moon's soft glow, they dared to hope. For even the strongest curses could be broken, even the darkest hearts could find redemption, in the embrace of a love that transcended all boundaries.Sukuna sighed softly. It seemed he was no longer in control of his own thoughts . A flood of memories assaulted him, but, with an effort, he focused on one in particular. (Name). His partner. His lover.
She, too, was a creature of contradictions. Her lightness of touch could devastate with devastating effect. Her laughter echoed in his heart like a merry tune. And yet, despite her ferocity, there was a subtle fragility that marked her features, a vulnerability that drew you in. (Name) always knew when he was lost in thought, catching him off guard with playful jabs and teasing remarks. Often, she would lean forward, pulling him close, sharing her warm breath.Until that tragic night.Fire burning everything in sight, mutilated body's lay around. As children cry as they no longer have a home nor family to run to. But the focus is on the two in the middle of it all. Sukuna lays in his lovers arms as she holds his body close—"Don't forget me," she whispers against his slowing turning cold skin, a smile twitching at the corners of her lips, tears daring to fall. "I would never forget you...you silly girl..." Sukuna says softly, smirking."You always had my back, didn't you? You protected me, made sure I was okay."
She laughs quietly, gazing down at the man she loves. He closes his eyes. This wasn't how it was supposed to end. He would protect her until the day he died, and here she was....He has failed. She cradles his body closer, feeling the heat of her tears soak through his skin. She fights to keep her voice from breaking, "Even if it means losing your own life?" Her tone turns softer.
"Always" And that was the last thing she heard from him before his heartbeat stopped for good.
Sukuna's senses snapped back to reality. His consciousness felt fuzzy, as though the edges of his mind had been smudged with haze. His vision blurred slightly as he tried to clear his head, slowly blinking to bring things into focus.
"Don't worry my silly little kitsune...we'll reunite soon"

This has been on my mind, nagging me for other people to know.
Do you think that there are people on Mobius that have made a. cult around getting rid of Sonic because he won't defeat Eggman the proper way? Like, they cause riots and when Sonic comes, they jump on him (not literally, just verbally) about him not being able to defeat Egghead. And then at the same time see Tails as a god because he has 2 tails (kitsune?!) and would do anything to lay their hands on him. Myself I dont know how to make a fic out of it but man knowing that Sonic doesn't only have fans, but also haters who despise him.
So much angst, so much nagging in my head.
oh yea sonic for sure has haters. the first few issues and the metal virus arc had both shadow and espio getting pissed at him for keeping eggman alive as mr tinker. one of the reasons starline did what he did was because of the cycle sonic and eggman have found themselves in. idk if id call it a cult, but there are definitely people who disagree with him
as for the thing with tails, idk about that one. i think because he’s seen as sonic’s sidekick, people would question him about his brother’s choices as well. i also personally don’t think the concept of a kitsune exists in mobian culture (maybe in the humans’ cultures). i think superstitious people tend to view someone like him as a curse or evil spirit or some kind of negative thing while everyone else is just like “woah he’s got two tails. anyway”
now i’m sure there’s some weirdo out there who takes their superstition too far but in the opposite way that his old village did
anyway that’s just my take of it, but don’t let my opinion take away from your angst. it’s a really interesting idea!
#ask#anon ask#looking directly at one of myla’s characters with that one section#but yea i think people lump tails in with sonic way too much for people to have their own opinions about the kit#sonic the hedgehog#miles tails prower

a mostly Frida centric sketch dump of my TMNT iteration. technically the second drawing is just my design for Frida/Big Mama's assistant in Rise!
Iteration thoughts under the cut cause they got long....
So it might be odd to make a seperation AU and like draw it before I have even gotten really anything out for the first au itself but lmao I don't control this car we're just along for the ride. Some of the below is spoilers for my au 'canon' i guess, kinda?
Shadow, Kirby, and Carter are the only ones TRULY bad off in this i think, Shitty family business that gets violent, a beaten-into-shape foot soldier who still wants nothing more than to be a hero, and an alien lab rat to a villainous alien.
Not to say the others are doing Well either, Big Mama and Kitsune love their daughters in their own ways, but power is still prized above all for both women. Slash had a rougher start but hes a part of an mutant rights group that's willing to work dirty. he pretends to not like the silly name they've picked up around town. :)
Splinters the worst off tho, I didnt draw her but like she is Vastly worse off in a separated au.
I'm so interested in specifically what Big Mama and Frida's relationship would've been like in Rise so it's a decently sized chunk of my outline for this au so far. I'm really gonna trim it down so the project could actually get finished but i know that'll be a big arc even after I shorten it. I love BM as a character and like,,,, yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, spins her in my mind on loop.

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES #139 APRIL 2023 BY SOPHIE CAMPBELL, KEVIN EASTMAN, TOM WALTZ, FERO PE, RONDA PATTISON AND SHAWN LEE
The turtles reunite with Kitsune to learn one last lesson before their final confrontation with the Rat King.
SCORE: 8
The Armageddon Game is less of a saga and more of a... succession of events. But at least the chapters happening in this book have all been beautifully made. I mean just look at that awesome cover.
And the art is also amazing, with some very interesting artistic choices.
But story-wise, there are also very interesting concepts here. Concepts that I am not sure how the turtles will weaponize to get rid of the Rat King. But interesting nonetheless.
One big interest for Sophie Campbell seems to be the future of this universe. It has been creeping into her stories for years now, and it seems like the next annual is also a future-centric story. I am OK with all of this... as long as a story gets told. I don’t wanna spend the next two years hinting at something and then all happening in an anniversary issue. Go all the way with the direction.
As for the lesson learned in this issue, I had to re-read the dialogues many times to try to understand the new concepts... I think I get them, but I will have to re-read the whole story once it’s over to figure out exactly how it works.
I am not sure why the turtles were surprised to see Kitsune involved in all of this. She was the reason they knew how to prepare in the first place. And she was with the Shredder, that wasn’t a secret.
I like that Donatello is embracing all of this. He was always the atheist, but atheism is centered around the philosophy of not believing in something until it is proven it exists. Everything has been proven to him, so he probably had the most outstanding character arc of the series.
But Donatello’s growth is kind of leaving the other turtles on his shadow. What is Mikey really up to? What is Jennika’s role in this universe?
It seems like the turtles may end up going separate ways, but if there is something we learned in this issues, it’s that they are more powerful together.
Only one more chapter of the Armageddon Game is left... and it will be perhaps, the first one really about the Armageddon Game.

Some BSD Verse info because I'm thinking about it [proper post later when it's not 12am]
Kyu, much like Chuuya, is the vessel for a chaos god/spirit- Tamamo-no-mae. And unlike him, who is aware of it- Kyu has ZERO recollection of it or the experiments that happened to her to make it happen.
Currently attending school on her senior year, clearly avoiding going to college in order to help her mom out at her bakery.
Kyu doesn't really poke her head out much for the chaos that goes down in Yokohama between the ADA and the PM but she is aware of it and keeps tabs on what happens in order to stay safe.
Her step sister, Shiki, is a member of the Port Mafia as a Doctor and a former member of the government [the ones who approved her to be the test subject] and she's also the one who managed to help Kyu escape.
Kyu's ability manifests as Tamamo-no-mae, or in her documentation in the Special abilities department: City of Corpses [a novel by Yoko Ota]
despite being a host for the fox spirit- Kyu doesn't gain any kitsune features when she lets her take control, however her shadow gains 9 tails and a pair of fox ears. Her eyes go completely white and she gains orange coloring to her nails and hands up to her elbows. letting her control Kyu gives her a strength and speed increase, tragically Kyu does not know how to let her out to begin with.
during the DOA arc Tamamo starts getting more antsy and active much to Kyu's annoyance, giving her headaches every time it happens.
i'm tired i'll probably fix this tomorrow-

(Modern Tails anon) Considering there's apparently financial troubles going on with IDW, one has to wonder if the comic lives long enough to see that story one day.
Heh, the funny thing is, he could technically do those things too. Maybe not as well, but a kid fox genius running around with a flamethrower he built being alongside Blaze has to invoke some type of interesting imagery. Same with a stealth mission with Rouge.
I figured, especially with Sonic is one the earliest examples of seeing a video game character having a clear personality. (At least those Origins cutscenes added something more upfront; albeit very late for this decades-long series. But something to refer back to nonetheless.)
I think I've seen that somewhere. The most I know of Tails himself in that continuity is that he and other foxes are from some secret zone and he has grown the title of hero in that village through rather clumsy, but well-meaning antics. Albeit through lying at first.
(Yup, AOSTH Tails even turned an entire truck into a mechanical dragon and handled himself while Sonic was frozen in stone. The most SatAM did was that one episode near the end. I still wonder if the plans for season 3 had gone through, would Tails be looked at a bit differently depending on how it went since his role was supposed to expand greatly.)
Hmm, it's going to depend on how these next set of episodes go. Seeing the other Tailses will likely strike a chord in Nine; but that doesn't fully mean villain arc. Existential crisis, maybe. I expect him more to tap into something hidden within him he didn't notice before. (Probably doesn't help that outside of Sonic and Shadow, we don't know the Prime versions of the characters that well; not great if you don't have at least basic knowledge on Sonic. If Tails did show some "Nine" traits during his early days with Sonic; specifically the trusting and friends part, I think there'd be a fairer grasp of why Tails didn't end up like Nine and why Nine is slowly resembling the original Tails. This applies to the other counterparts too, not just his alone.) Heh, never doubt the power of a fandom has when they catch the slightest bit of angst fuel from any character. And missing the nuances that come with grey/neutral characters. (Trust me, I'd love to see Tails let loose some raw, unbridled emotion that could have you think about his morality or sense of justice, but in the right context. Something I don't see Prime fully committing to, whether they DO go through with it.)
Two intelligent scientific minds, separated by different upbringings and how they apply their emotions to their logic, but still learning about how the world works and defy said logic through personal experience. All while seeking approval and praise. Lots of potential there.
There was another Sonic Channel story last year that basically said the same thing about their bond. One being "they have something that goes beyond trust", that "they know what the other needs without having to speak". (Also, their dynamic breaks some the typical tropes you see with 'hero-sidekick'. Like, the latter has the base of operations, not the former. Also, it is not funny and wholesome that Sonic considers this baby fox that attached himself to a younger him the biggest source help he could have ever hope for?)
Honestly I'm not very knowledgeable on how this whole deal works, so I won't say anything on the matter. I wonder if we could get a Sonic webtoon? I know DC comics and Archie both have at least one. Of course, both of them are of questionable quality, but who knows, maybe we'll luck out!
Haha, that's true! Personally I don't really care for him being a kitsune spirit, but I've been thinking of an idea where he replicates their abilities with his tech to make someone else believe he is one.
Yep, Fleetway Tails is from the Nameless Zone which is kind of like old-timey alternative dimension with magic and goblins and stuff. He was kind of loser there, so he moved to Mobius hoping he'd make a name for himself, but he was still a loser there too. But he was too embarrassed and wrote to his family that he became a hero. In the early StC, the writers weren't kind to Tails. He usually just messed things up or got captured (you could kinda understand Sonic's frustration with him, though he could stand to be nicer), and if he did manage to save the day, it was due to sheer luck. He got better though, especially after Sonic got stuck in another dimension. (After he came back, the Freedom Fighters kind of went their separate ways, but S&T often had adventures together as a duo. They both kinda grew up, Tails became more competent and stopped caring as much about impressing people (including Sonic), and Sonic mellowed out and stopped being as harsh on him. They became a better team! I have a soft spot for the stc!Unbreakable Bond, you just kind of have to take into account the specifics of the writing of stc as a whole, I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea.)
(I... have mixed feelings on satam, but mostly I just can't finish watching it. It feels like a drag. Not something I would be watching if it wasn't Sonic-related. Not gonna comment on the quality of it, because there are some other shows I felt similarly about and they're super critically acclaimed, like atla. (If Tails was more prominent I mind have at least been watching for his sake) I promised a friend I would read Archie and I wanted to watch satam first, but it looks like at this point I'll just have to skip to the comics.)
I really want to see different counterparts interacting. I'm kind of with Shadow on this situation, try as I may I don't really see them as separate people, I'm more interested in what they could say about the Prime versions of the characters. But it would be more effective if we spent more time with the Prime versions in the first place. I'm hoping for more flashbacks tbh. (Plus I just love how the og models for the characters look without the Shatterverse clothes)
Oh yeah I remember that one! Man I love how Sonic Channel hypes up their bond. I hope we'll get to see more of this in the next games. Sonic really lucked out (and so did Tails of course!)
#i also feel like (though I have a bit of a trouble articulating it) that tails is more of a traditional hero-type than sonic#but I always feel goofy trying to explain this#(this is on your comment about subverting hero/sidekick stereotypes)#tails#blue blur#sonic & tails#sonic#sonic the hedgehog#miles tails prower#tails the fox#project.txt

share like 10 random facts you don't know when you'll share about your paras or paracosms
can be more or less have fun
Ooh okay!
1. In SB:R, the triplets have two biological moms, Queen Aleena and Bernadette. Aleena is trans!
2. Sonia and Manic exist in Reloaded, but they and Sonic have never met. Sonic and Manic don’t even know they have biological siblings. Sonia on the other hand…
3. Reloaded and Supporting Me are actually part of the same paracosm, just happening in different dimensions. I just need to figure out when it falls on the timeline.
4. Reloaded follows a strict timeline, and the characters age as time passes. Amy just had her sweet 16 during my paracosm’s version of TMoStH, and Knuckles had to spend his 20th birthday trapped in Cyberspace on Starfall Islands. Sonic also spent a birthday in prison during Sonic Forces, but I can’t remember what age he turned.
5. Similar to the above, Sonic starts growing scruff (like facial hair but it’s just the fur of his muzzle growing out) when he’s around 16. He usually trims it down to look how it was before, but once he and his friends get trapped on Starfall Islands he can’t anymore. Once they get back, he finally decides to keep it scruffy.
6. There’s an evil version of Blossom, similar to how Sonic has Metal Sonic and Shadow has the Shadow Androids. However, Phantom Blossom was made by Infinite, not Eggman. After Infinite gets sucked into the Phantom Ruby and thrown into another dimension, Phantom Blossom desperately finds a way to bring him back.
7. There’s a few subplots in SB:R about some of the mercenaries hired to take down the main characters. The first is obviously Espio, who is revealed to have become a mercenary to feed and house himself and Charmy. Vector is the one to discover this fact, and convinces him to join the good guys, offering him a job and a home. The other is Echo, who, unlike in Reloaded, is a highly competent kunoichi, and is Espio’s rival. She goes after him once he switches sides, but is later revealed to be one of the last kitsune, with her small village guarding one of the Master Emerald shards. Tails is also revealed to be a kitsune in this arc, but he decides that his species doesn’t matter, and knowing why he has two tails isn’t going to change who he is.
8. The main villain of Ruined World was originally named Natas. It’s Satan spelled backwards. I haven’t thought of a new one for Her yet, even though She’s changed to a more eldritch, unknowable being. Maybe She has no name. (Which is why I usually just refer to Her as Her. Also, Her pronouns MUST be capitalized.)
9. Ruined World is currently being reworked, going from one big city to a bunch of different locations, all connected by one train (because I love trains). These trains are nearly impossible to get to unless you’re a member of Her cult, who She obviously favors.
10. I have a few minor paracosms where I just shove Sonic characters into other stuff I like. There’s the Minecraft ones I was talking about earlier today, I also have a Miitopia one (which pretty much follows the original story) and a Firefly one, where human versions of the Sonic cast fly around the ‘Verse in their own ship. The Chaotix were the original owners of Serenity, but the upkeep got too expensive, so they sold her and joined Sonic’s crew. Maria is also still alive in that one, and she was the one to help Simon rescue River, all so she could break Shadow out of the same facility.
#type: talking#type: asks#thank you so much! 🩵#if anyone has questions feel free to send them in I’d love to elaborate on any of these#esp on the firefly one. what who said that

@chaosfate : ( inbox call . ) as curious as a fox could be , the little thief was driven to a delectable abode . he had laid eyes on a few trinkets && bobbles that he could get his paws on && with the capacity to carry them , they were swiftly slid into the abyss of his shadow . he slinked his way down a hall before stopping abruptly . his ears flicked && his fur bristled in the response to a small sound . quickly he retreated into his shadow && slithered under a piece of furniture .
ㅤ𝐒𝐏𝐈𝐑𝐈𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐀𝐋 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐒 𝐈𝐍 𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐑𝐎𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐘. Hale and hearty neighborhood would take some time to make ready garland of seasonal festivities boosted by a commendatory sense of thriving. Tattles circled - about mysterious intruders, plunders, and pillage. Who might know what has happened to disturb shades formerly at rest. At that moment, one specific Curse User patiently listened to the complaint of one of the citizens entering his headquarters with a plea for help.
Foolish Monkeys are slow to be roused, unless there's a problem, but when Sorcerers are ... there is little that can stand before them. First and foremost, Suguru forbade the visitor and the locals from seeking anything by themselves. Before their adjourn, he would take one pronouncement. 'Continue ahead, please, I will catch up in a minute.' The reason? When he wanted to accompany the citizen to the area of trouble, both of them passed one of his rooms where [...] Hm..? Just now —. Suguru was startled by the preciseness of timing.
The room was certainly empty, but side glance and gut spoke otherwise. He could swear there was a movement ... and as is his custom Suguru would split up with his conversational partner in order to frustrate his pursuit therein. The sound of closing shoji echoed with his entrée. Imported furniture would not clutter traditionally minimalistic interiors.
The soothsayer stood upright, staring forward and motionlessly. Still breathed quietly, but he no longer appeared to see either his companion or the cause of movement. Eyes dared from right to left, taking in as much as no detectable mischief, alas there was but one spot for potential hideout; a table of European size where he certainly remembers used to be fresh goods and trinkets on it ...Closer and closer he approached, both hands withdrew from nightly sleeve as he knelt collected, waiting for another sound that would not come so the hand abruptly lifted a table-cloth. To his surprise, there was something of a sight. Hmm? What do we got here? A Kitsune? Looks like today he was graced by singular company; twilight scout of high arc and rustic rainbow - beautiful. Quite a shame they are always getting left off the old lists and stories for potential danger of their mention. Warm fur had such-and-such gleam inviting unpremeditated appendage to reach forward and brush handfully along sleek fix strips. For a moment, there is a genuine smile where temptation is strong to manifest. But of course, secondly, there is this invasively primordial thought about something amiss.
Again. A fox. In his headquarters; when it literally could be anywhere else …
Such an idea was discarded as selective choice is made to stay alert and cautiously observe whether it's a curse that needs to be exorcised. Not like he would succumb to a new danger so soon afterward, but one never knows.
A whiff of moment passed to accumulate common tenor in behalf of the one musing over rare eye-opener. " Well, well. I wonder ... you must be the renowned thief spirit terrorizing my local neighborhood, '' his chuckle was quiet and low, '' or perhaps you happen to be just a hungry visitor? " Can the creature talk? The Book I'm writing: Requiem of the Rising Flames-Elixir's Pursuit: A Kitsune's Journey Rewrite #3 Book 1 Chapter 6
In the heart of Umbral Haven, the bustling activities of the Twilight Tavern momentarily halted as the attention of onlookers was drawn upward to the expansive canvas of the sky. Odessa, her gaze instinctively drawn to the heavens, witnessed a celestial spectacle unfolding amidst the azure expanse.
High above, a Tempest Roc, its wings spanning like storm clouds, clashed with another figure in a dance of elemental fury. Lightning arced through the sky as the colossal wings of the Roc beat against the currents. The clash of forces created a symphony of thunder, a celestial battle that seemed to defy the boundaries between earth and sky.
As Odessa's amber eyes absorbed the celestial turmoil, the murmurs of the onlookers surrounded her, a chorus of speculation and awe.
"By the stars, what in Celestria is happening up there?"
"It's a Tempest Roc! Haven't seen one this close in ages!"
"I heard there have been attacks in the neighboring areas. Those wings can summon storms!"
The gathered crowd, a mix of locals and travelers, exchanged snippets of information and rumors as they marveled at the aerial combat. The tales of the Tempest Roc's recent attacks on neighboring territories fueled the conversations, adding an air of trepidation to the spectacle.
"The storms it conjures can level entire settlements. They say it's hunting something or someone."
"Are we safe here? What if it decides to dive down?"
Odessa, amid the cluster of onlookers, absorbed the hushed dialogues like an unassuming specter. The Tempest Roc's battle had become a focal point, a transient interruption in the daily affairs of Umbral Haven. The mid-day sky served as a backdrop to the celestial drama, casting shadows and highlights that danced across the faces of those below.
The celestial battle reached a climactic moment as Odessa, her eyes reflecting a mix of fascination and concern, observed the figure in the sky gaining the upper hand against the majestic Tempest Roc. A swirl of wind and lightning surrounded them, creating an ethereal spectacle against the canvas of the mid-day sky.
However, the intrigue in Odessa's gaze transformed into a squint of realization. The figure, seemingly indifferent to the consequences, seemingly directed the Roc's descent toward the heart of Umbral Haven. The oncoming collision with the city became evident, and a sense of urgency tinged the air.
The colossal wings of the Tempest Roc, now battered and tattered, cast a looming shadow as it hurtled toward the city below. The figure, still entangled in the celestial dance, exhibited an uncaring demeanor, as if the impending chaos held no consequence to them.
A collective gasp rippled through the onlookers, and panic seized the crowd around Odessa. The previously captivated spectators became a chaotic swarm, each individual driven by a primal instinct to flee the impending danger.
"The Roc! It's heading for the city!"
"Run! Everyone, run!"
The once-static atmosphere of the Twilight Tavern's surroundings erupted into a frenzy of motion. Tables were overturned, glasses shattered, and the sound of hurried footsteps echoed through the cobblestone streets as people desperately sought refuge from the impending disaster.
Amidst the chaos, Seraphina remained composed, a calm figure in the tempest of panic. Her eyes, like Odessa's, followed the Roc's descent with a measured awareness. The two women, surrounded by the tumult of fleeing onlookers, stood firm as the impending collision approached.
The once azure sky turned chaotic as the Tempest Roc, battered and broken, plummeted towards Umbral Haven. Its descent was a maelstrom of wind and dust, a tempestuous collision of celestial and earthly forces. The figure that had engaged in the celestial battle showed no concern for the Roc's trajectory, guiding it with an indifferent hand towards the heart of the city.
The impact was a thunderous cacophony that reverberated through the cobblestone streets. Dust billowed into the air, obscuring the crash site and shrouding Umbral Haven in a veil of debris. The crowd, having fled moments earlier, now looked back with a mix of awe and trepidation.
Seraphina, standing beside Odessa, glanced at her companion with a subtle curiosity. Amidst the chaos and panic that gripped the onlookers, Odessa remained an island of calm. There was a stoicism in her demeanor, a detachment that Seraphina found both intriguing and perplexing.
Internally, Seraphina observed Odessa, noting the absence of panic or urgency in her expression. "Is she immune to fear, or does she simply wear it well?" Seraphina wondered, her hazel eyes narrowing as she processed the apparent emotional detachment of the Nightshade Lady.
Odessa, her eyes squinting against the swirling dust, watched the crash site with an air of composed fascination. She made a futile attempt to shield herself from the dust, coughing slightly as it invaded her lungs. Her focus, however, remained fixated on the aftermath of the celestial collision.
As the dust began to settle, revealing the transformed landscape, Odessa's keen eyes caught the glint of metal amidst the debris. A sword, its blade gleaming with an otherworldly sheen, lay embedded in the ground like an artifact of celestial power.
As the dust began to settle, revealing the transformed landscape, Odessa's keen eyes caught the glint of metal amidst the debris. A sword, its blade gleaming with an otherworldly sheen, lay embedded in the ground like an artifact of celestial power.
The sword was a masterpiece of craftsmanship, its hilt adorned with intricate dragon and kitsune motifs that seemed to dance with ethereal grace. The blade itself captured the essence of the celestial heavens, with a lustrous sheen that hinted at a power beyond mortal comprehension. The fusion of dragon and kitsune elements in the sword's design created a captivating tapestry of mythical symbols.
Odessa, her eyes narrowing with focused scrutiny, felt a faint flicker of familiarity tugging at the edges of her consciousness. As the dust continued to settle, the contours of the sword became clearer, and a realization dawned upon her.
"Eclipsbane," she whispered, the name escaping her lips like a long-forgotten melody. The familiarity of the sword resonated deep within her, stirring memories that had long been obscured by the passage of time.
The connection clicked in Odessa's mind, and the revelation brought with it a mix of emotions. The sword embedded in the ground, with its celestial aura and the weight of its history, belonged to none other than Crown Prince Xander.
Her eyes widened in realization as the puzzle pieces fell into place. The figure that had engaged in the celestial battle, the one who had guided the Tempest Roc's descent with an air of indifference—it was Xander himself. The Crown Prince had descended from the heavens, a celestial force in mortal form, to confront the tempestuous guardian that had encroached upon Umbral Haven.
Her eyes widened in realization as the puzzle pieces fell into place. The figure that had engaged in the battle, the one who had guided the Tempest Roc's descent with an air of indifference—it was Xander himself. The Crown Prince had descended from the heavens, a force in mortal form, to confront the tempestuous guardian that had encroached upon Umbral Haven.
As Odessa stood amidst the aftermath, her attention turned to the fallen Tempest Roc. The once-majestic creature, now battered and defeated, struggled in vain to rise from the ground. Its form, once a tempest of power, now lay subdued in the wake of Xander's intervention.
The dust began to settle, revealing the transformed landscape and the consequences of the clash. Odessa's eyes, however, shifted back to the man who stood amid the remnants, a silhouette against the settling dust.
Her gaze traced the profile of Crown Prince Xander—his molten gold hair cascading like a river of sunlight, and his deep sapphire eyes, pools of depth, focused on the Roc. His posture held a regal strength, a demeanor befitting his station as a Crown Prince who had just emerged from a battle.
The air around Xander seemed charged with a lingering energy, a testament to the forces he had wielded moments ago. His countenance bore traces of the encounter—dust and remnants of magic clinging to his form, a mark of the conflict.
Odessa observed him with a mix of curiosity and a subtle acknowledgment of the gravity that surrounded his presence.
The Tempest Roc, battered and defeated, eventually ceased its futile attempts to rise from the ground. Instead, it fixed a glare of frustration upon Xander, a primal defiance in its gaze as it acknowledged its predicament.
Seraphina, standing beside Odessa, couldn't contain her excitement. "Xander! He did it! The battle is over!" Her voice carried a fervent joy as she realized the celestial figure before them was none other than the Crown Prince.
The onlookers, who had initially fled from the crashing Tempest Roc, cautiously returned as the dust settled. With Seraphina's proclamation, a collective sigh of relief echoed through the air. The people gathered, their fear replaced by a sense of awe and gratitude at Xander's presence.
As the crowd reassembled, Odessa overheard the hushed voices of women commenting on Xander. The whispers carried a mix of admiration and gratitude, and among them, a recurring theme emerged. The women, inspired by the Crown Prince's bravery, expressed a desire to repay him for saving their lives.
"I heard he's the Crown Prince," one woman murmured to her companion. "If only we had something valuable to offer him in return."
Another group of women, overhearing the conversation, joined in the speculation. "Maybe we could... repay him in a different way," one suggested, her tone suggestive and laden with innuendo.
Odessa, catching wind of the discussions, couldn't help but feel a mixture of amusement and exasperation at the women's boldness. The gratitude they harbored for Xander had taken an unexpected turn, and the air was tinged with a blend of admiration and playful flirtation.
As the women continued their animated chatter about the handsome Crown Prince Xander, Odessa found herself caught in a sea of enthusiastic voices. Random snippets of dialogue floated around her, each comment praising the Crown Prince's looks, bravery, and overall charisma.
"He's like a living sculpture, isn't he?"
"I've never seen eyes so captivating!"
"He handled that celestial battle with such grace."
Odessa, feeling a subtle discomfort in the air, turned to leave. The ambiguous feelings stirred by the women's admiration for Xander left her unsure of her own sentiments. As she stepped away from the gathering, she mulled over the conversations she overheard.
Internally, Odessa grappled with a strange mixture of emotions. The talk about Crown Prince Xander and his captivating qualities seemed to touch a chord within her, evoking thoughts she wasn't entirely ready to confront.
The memory of her annulled engagement lingered in the recesses of her mind; a painful reminder of a connection severed. Odessa struggled to comprehend the complexity of her own feelings. She brushed off the discomfort as something unrelated, concocting a flimsy excuse to explain away the twinge in her heart.
"I must be feeling uneasy because of the residual energy from the celestial clash," she reasoned with herself. The thought served as a convenient distraction, allowing her to evade the deeper introspection of emotions she was not equipped to decipher.
As Odessa moved away, her departure did not go unnoticed. The Tempest Roc, its gaze fixed upon her, registered the subtle shift in her movements.
As Odessa walked away, a sudden commotion erupted behind her. Out of nowhere, a young woman, fueled by a surge of courage or perhaps infatuation, attempted to throw herself at Crown Prince Xander. The unexpected display of boldness drew gasps and whispers from the onlookers, creating a momentary spectacle in the wake of the celestial clash.
The Crown Prince, caught off guard by the impulsive gesture, gently sidestepped the woman's advance with a courteous yet firm demeanor. The odd event left the crowd in a state of mild astonishment, and the would-be suitor retreated with a flush of embarrassment.
The Tempest Roc, observing the unfolding scene, seized the opportunity presented by Xander's distraction. Determination filled the Roc's thoughts as it recognized the chance to escape while its adversary was momentarily preoccupied.
In a sudden and chaotic turn of events, the Tempest Roc seized the opportunity created by the distracted crowd and the young woman's failed attempt to approach Crown Prince Xander. With a precision born of predatory instinct, the Roc honed in on Odessa, who had unwittingly found herself at the center of the unfolding maelstrom.
In a swift and unexpected motion, the Roc's massive talons closed around Odessa, lifting her from the ground with a force that belied the creature's earlier defeat. The crowd, frozen in a stunned tableau, watched in collective disbelief as the Tempest Roc, far from vanquished, took to the sky with its newfound captive. Odessa, caught in the Roc's talons, felt the rush of wind and the disorienting ascent. The world below became a blur as the Roc ascended with a power that seemed to defy the laws of nature. Gasps of horror and disbelief emanated from the onlookers as they struggled to comprehend the audacity of the Tempest Roc's actions.

Sonic Quilford AU Stuff 7, because of course we need to hit Emerald number
Surge's theme is "Who I Am" by Magna-Fi. Yes, this is the song that was going to be the main theme of Shadow The Hedgehog before getting cut and replaced by Crush 40's "I Am All Of Me". With all the comparisons one can make between Shadow's amnesia arc and Surge and Kit, I think it fits. I haven't any idea what Kit's lyrical theme would be though
Tails and Marine, despite considering themselves and going as a fox and a raccoon respectively, are both mythical creatures(kitsune and tanuki). The only other mythical Faunan Sonic's encountered is Vector, who has dragonblood somewhere back in his linage
Mythical Faunans end up being born to their regular counterparts quite rarely, with about 1/741,500
Sonic and Blaze's birthdays are 3 days short of being exactly 6 months apart, with Sonic's on June 23rd, and Blaze's on December 20th
After the events of Unleashed, Sonic decided to bring Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Cream, Vanilla, Big, Ray, and Mighty all to Emerald Coast in Station Square for a 4-day vacation, wearing Chip's necklace the whole time
After the events of ShTH and being violently reminded of Maria's death, Shadow ended up developing schizophrenia
After Forces, two of the people to visit The Resistance were Florence and Abaddon Prower. Upon realizing just who was there, Sonic tried to usher his little brother out of there, only to be shocked as the 10yo kitsune stepped right up to his parents, talking to them in his overly-sweet voice, making sure to fiddle with his mints while doing so. As they tried to accost the people watching that this thing(they refused to call Tails their son, or anything remotely kind) was going to ruin their lives, Tails asked why they were the first two people to make him hate his real first name. As everyone stewed on that, Vanilla slapped one of them and demanded they leave. The crew has decided that if they ever encounter the older Prowers again, to treat them with utter apathy unless more is going on
Faunans don't really need to wear clothes, thus marking them as more fancy attire when in communities all their own. As such, Sonic considers Amy, Honey, Rouge, Cream, Blaze, and even Wave and Surge overdressed for fighting evil or extreme gear races
The names for the little animals(Flicky, Pocky, Beary, Locky, Micky, ect) are used by Faunans, to distinguish them from Faunans. Humans use both interchangeably, so they'd call a Flicky a chickadee just as much as a Faunan Chickadee

Reblogging this again to reblog a post showing just how cool, savage, insane, badass, and feral IDW Leo is!
Here is the amazing post! Please read it!!:
Also, another post that talks some about Leo's past life human self in IDW (yeah, IDW has a really cool reincarnation stuff man), and how Leo would totally have long, gorgeous hair, because he would man.
Here is that thread too:
And now here is a funny (but kind of sad too, if you know the context) meme post with IDW Leo and his Foot Leo "shadow self":
God; IDW's art is so gorgeous. And such great Leos in that meme post.
There is utterly amazing and tear-jerking post that talks about Leo post City-Fall arcs (I fricken AMAZING arc) that go into that arc's aftermath and recovery that are also really good. About when Leo finally came back to himself finally and realized he had a family (again) and wasn't alone (after The Shredder and the Kitsune fucked him up), and Leo was just so happy and relived about it and to Donnie, and just uuggghhh; read this post:
Like, look at Leo's happy and relived face there! He is so cute and sweet.
IDW and IDW Leo also gave us some sweet Leo, The Shredder, and Kitsune angst. The City Fall arc, the aftermath and recovery of that. Leo and Koya stuff. Just such good characterization and character arc(s) and/or development for Leo. Leo is insane in IDW too (like another post I mentioned above that talks about Feral Leo goes more into it and in the tags and/or replies of it); as he should be.
Also, he gave us, like I said, Foot Leo, and the look that spanned so much fanart and versions of Leo and stuff in that outfit/look or something similar to it. Like; he rocked the City Fall/Foot look so hard man.
For example, someone asked why Cupcake's Foot Leo is dressed like a wh*re, and they basically said that was basically IDW's fault, lol. Leo both in IDW and Cupcake's AU really rock that outfit though.
Here is the post, I am talking about:
Seriously; look how awesome Leo looks in his City Fall look; he rocks it so hard man.
Also, he got claw weapons man! Awesome!!!
Here is a banger, awesome redraw of IDW comic from that arc. Seriously; it is SO good and Leo looks so good:
I also love emo Leo too, my guy!
More panels of IDW Leo just looking awesome and so sweet and huggable and nice and cool!:
And I can't find that post, but there is a really good post that talks about how IDW Leo basically kept his promise of always being there and coming back for Mikey no matter what. Even when Raph and Leo had left (and I think this was after Splinter's death too), Leo was still there for his brother, Mikey no matter what.
Leo and Mikey is one of my favorite TMNT relationships, and God, is TMNT IDW a great portrayal of them not only as characters, but their relationship too.
And, this is a post from this competition actually, and I already talked about it indirectly some, but I will do so again, and more directly this time!:
If anyone who deserves this, because they have been through so much, it is IDW Leo.
Anyways, please, please vote IDW Leo!! He is so genuinely amazing, and one of the best versions of a character and one of the best characters in IDW and in TMNT in general!
Please vote for him!
And I know this isn't his poll, but for IDW Mikey too, I love '03 Casey with all my heart, but like IDW Leo, IDW Mikey is also one of the best characters in IDW, and just one of the best versions of a character and character in TMNT in general too!
So please vote for IDW Leo and Mikey! They deserve to win so much man (not saying the people they are going against don't, but you know what I mean). They are awesome!!

HEART'S FATE - CHAPTER 15
*Warning: Adult Content*
In his many years wandering the land, Skylar West had encountered many strange and wonderful thing but few things stranger or more wonderful than Martin Hunter's extended family.
Skylar had not imagined that the dear, unassuming man might already be acquainted with anything beyond the scope of humanity but he soon sees his error.
Though he’s only crossed paths with them a handful of times before his eldest brother's husband is unmistakably a Fae and he's not even the most unique creature among the gathering.
There's a slender boy, by appearances far too young for the burly, rough-looking man attached to him, whose demonic shadow stretches well beyond the earthly realm and another who, if Skylar peers askance at him, seems to have the ears and tail of a fox.
How a Fae, a demon and a kitsune could all become attached to the same family boggles the imagination and makes Skylar wonder what secrets the Hunters themselves may hold.
Confused and amused in equal measure, he has no need to feign delight as he is introduced to Martin's relatives and friends.
Martin himself remains a puzzle.
Skylar had imagined he wished to present him as his paramour, given what he'd told me of his family and he had obliged in what he imagined to be a clear and direct manner.
Contrary to his expectation, however, Martin seemed displeased with Skylar and went stiff as the bill of a swordfish at his side.
Now, having greeted everyone, Martin excuses himself and slips away to speak with his two, nearly identical brothers, leaving Skylar to fend for himself among the crowd.
But he is not alone for long.
The man with long red hair and the eyes that flicker like smoldering coals joins Skylar where he stands beside the table of refreshments.
Ambrose Thorne has a drink in his hand and a curious twist at the corner of his mouth.
Tall, pale and Scottish, Skylar judges by Ambrose’s accent, at least, he has the look of a lord and the arrogant manner to match.
"I'm sorry," Skylar says, offering him a smile.
"I've met so many people in so short a time, I don't recall which name belongs to you."
"Ambrose Thorne," says he and smiles, though without much friendliness, in return.
"Ah, that's it. The others call you Rose."
"They do," he says, not inviting Skylar to do the same.
"What brings you here?"
"To the party?"
Ambrose arcs a brow at Skylar.
"To Spring Lakes. Our little town has a reputation for attracting... all sorts."
"Ah. That would be the job. Not many positions for art teachers, these days. Can't be choosy."
Ambrose regards Skylar with the lids of his eyes half lowered and his head tilted slightly back, reminding him of a great serpent at rest.
"You're an odd one," he says at last.
"I can't quite figure you."
"Figure me? In what way?"
The corner of Ambrose’s mouth curls upward slightly.
"Don't be coy. I can usually tell at a glance but in your case I can only tell what you're not. You're something new... new to me, anyway."
Startled to be addressed so frankly, Skylar fails to hide his surprise but quickly recovers.
He should not have assumed that, among such eclectic company, he would be the only one with the skill to recognize supernatural breeds, although typically his human side lets him pass undetected, himself.
"Shall we?"
Ambrose nods towards the open meadow beyond the pavilion and Skylar accepts his invitation for a more private place to speak.
"You're more than you seem yourself, I gather," Skylar says, as they stroll away from the little crowd.
Ambrose nods.
"Aye, as are more than a few you see here. Martin, on the other hand, seems unaware of your... more unusual qualities. He told us you were human."
"I am. Half human, anyway."
"Consider me less than half reassured."
"Reassured? Of what?"
Ambrose stops and turns to face Skylar who is struck by the sudden certainty that he stands before something ancient, powerful and dangerous, though he can't say precisely what.
A vision of scales and fire flashes through his mind and of wings that span the sky but Skylar dismisses it.
He inherited but a fraction of his mother's magic and his second sight is far from reliable.
"The Hunter clan is a close-knit lot," Ambrose says.
"They look after their own... as do those who love them. Woe betide thee, if you bring them harm."
Skylar smiles at the archaic expression.
"I believe I'm going to enjoy getting to know you all."
Ambrose nods.
"Don't worry. I don't speak secrets that aren't my own to tell, usually. But I recommend you give Martin the chance to get to know you first. He's had a hard time of it and his trust is a rare and delicate flower, indeed. Tend to it and you'll have my thanks, harm it and there is no place in the heavens or in all the realms of hell you may hide."
Impressed despite himself, Skylar raises a brow at Ambrose and nods at the crowd gathered beneath the pavilion.
"I may expect several such speeches, I presume."
"You may."
"Martin and his family... They're also more than they seem?"
Ambrose blinks at Skylar slowly.
"If you must ask, then you clearly have some work to do."
Skylar regards him for a moment, trying to get the measure of the man but all he can tell is that he is outmatched.
"Right you are," Skylar says.
"And you needn't worry. There is less between us than you think."
"Are you sure about that?" Ambrose shakes his head. "I'm not one to give advice unsolicited but I'll give you a piece, nonetheless. If you've a choice between following your heart and following the thing you wear over it, go with the one you've got to live with because one of them will lead you astray."
With that, Ambrose salutes Skylar with his drink, empties the last of it and saunters back towards the pavilion.
A laugh escapes Skylar as he touches a hand to his amulet.
Whatever the man is, he's mildly insufferable but intriguing nonetheless.
And he's right about one thing, Skylar needs to make things clear with Martin.
Fortunately, they may be much closer to the same page than he thought.
⁂
Skylar tracks Martin down in the little house his eldest brother shares with the Fae man and their uncanny children.
He's in the kitchen, placing a Band-Aid on Rio's knee while the boy wipes tears from his eyes with a grimy hand.
"All better," Martin says soothingly.
"Does it still hurt?"
The little boy shakes his head and sniffs.
"Good. If your cousins are too rough, just find a different game to play. Okay?"
Rio nods, hops off the chair and dashes from the room.
Martin sighs and pushes himself to his feet with a visible effort. Spotting Skylar he frowns.
"Everything alright?" the young art teacher asks. Martin’s frown sharpens to a scowl.
"What are you playing at, Skylar? The last thing I needed was extra drama."
"I'm sorry. I misunderstood, it seems."
"Misunderstood what?"
Skylar raises his hands disarmingly.
"You told me your family worries for you... wants you to move on and to see you happy. I thought I might help."
Martin turns away but not before Skylar glimpses a look of pure pain on his face.
"Yeah. And I don't mind if they speculate. But I won't lie to them. Not ever again."
Skylar frowns as his eyes travel the curve of Martin’s back as he leans against the table, his shoulders bowed beneath some invisible weight, the soft skin of his exposed neck inviting a touch of reassurance the young man suddenly, inexplicably, longs to give.
The amulet pulses as a heat fills Skylar’s chest and he recalls Ambrose's strange words.
"Why not both?" he asks himself.
"What?"
Martin turns around, confusion twisting his brow.
A certainty alights like a bird coming home in Skylar’s breast and he smiles as he steps forward and stands close enough to feel the heat of Martin’s body reflecting his.
"I said, why not?" Skylar whispers to Martin and then kisses him.
Martin’s breath snaps inward like the draw-back of a wave and for a moment Skylar fears that he has misread him, after all.
But then Martin’s arms tighten around Skylar and he kisses him back with a desperate hunger that nearly matches the young man’s own.
Martin tastes like the memory of summertime and lost happiness and the tears of the wild sea.
He tastes like home.
Skylar draws back as words rise within him, ready to reveal all his secrets like the waves at high tide but before he can speak and with a ferocity he hardly expected of the man, Martin shoves him away.
