Clint grinned devilishly as he spotted the sprig of green above Loki's head. He wasted no time in crossing the room, one hand curling around the back of the god's neck and the other into his shirt as he pulled him close under the mistletoe. "C'mere, you," he mumbled before he pressed their lips together, kissing his lover slow and deep. He didn't give two fucks that they were standing in the middle of the Stark Tower penthouse. If Tony was gonna hang mistletoe, Clint was gonna take advantage of it.

Hel sat perfectly still, not wanting to move and mess up the work Loki was putting into her hair. It took her back years, back to being little and sitting on her bed, discussing lessons and magic and trying not to fidget as he twisted her hair into intricate braids. Smiling at the kind memory, she didn’t turn around to ask her question. 

“Are you doing any design in particular? Or are you just being creative and seeing where it takes you?”

He decided to check it out, swinging in and stopping onto the floor. “Hey is anyone he-” the teen gasped softly and rushed over to the figure on the floor. He only noticed who it was once he got besides him. “Loki?!” He dropped besides him, grabbing his shoulder. “Loki??”

Fish isn’t something that Sarah eats very often, unless it’s the kind you buy frozen in a box and heat in the oven. Every so often she’ll find a place that does fish and chips and buy some, but it’s never her go to. 

If Loki wants to cook her some nice fish that wasn’t breaded and frozen, she will happily eat it, but it’s not something she cooks for herself very often.

Hel had gotten the basket into Loki’s apartment by magic (with herself nowhere nearby) rather than attempting a more risky strategy like breaking and entering. She didn’t want to scare him off, not when she’d only just discovered him and where he was. It had taken some work to get the package in completely undetected, but she had managed, so it would be there when he woke up.

The gifts in the basket were fairly generic - chocolate, wine, etc, but the two cards in them were anything but. The first envelope (labelled as such) contained a lengthy letter, explaining that she was writing to wish him a Happy Father’s day - a holiday explained to her by the human souls in her care - and assure him that he was in no danger of being found by anyone else. She had gone on to tell him how much she wished to meet him, and about the reservation she had set for them that night at a local restaurant, should he want to see her as well. The second envelope contained the pendant he’d given her when she was a baby, and a note saying she hoped to see him, as she’d really like to have her necklace back.

Envy glances over towards Loki. They were watching The Force Awakens, but it seemed he had drifted off. He considered leaving him along but he had put on the film with the intention of watching it. So, he lift his foot, and kicks the god on the side. “You’re missing the movie!”

“Right, right, ‘cause you’re not him.”  She eyed him doubtfully but decided to take his word for it, giving the stranger the benefit of the doubt.  She sighed and glanced out the window.  “They’ve rebuilt midtown almost completely now,” she mused.  “You’d never know that that whole thing happened.”  

He could sense the other’s disbelief, but chose to ignore it. After all, so long as she made no attempt to turn him in or expose him, what did it matter? She was but one individual in a city of millions. “Odd, isn’t it?” he responded, noticeably less hostile now that the attention had been taken off of his identity. “How quickly such destruction can be forgotten. Some of the buildings had to be fully rebuilt from the ground up, and…you’d never know. You’re right.” Compared to what he’d remembered of the human race from all those hundreds of years ago, before his invasion, it was impressive. Compared to civilizations such as that of Asgard, or countless others he had encountered in his travels, the pace of renovation was sluggish, but to put the two side by side was to compare a sardine to a eagle, or a sundial to an atomic bomb.

“It is,” she replied, eyes still on the cityscape.  “I think the mayor and everyone else wanted to look forward, not back.  They wanted to put all the destruction behind them, just erase it.  They were talking about putting up a plaque, I think?  To commemorate what happened?”

She glanced at him to gauge his reaction.  “I wasn’t here at the time,” she went on after a pause.  “I was home visiting my folks.  They had the news on the TV 24/7, just watching the Avengers kicking all the aliens’ asses.”  @shadesofdistortion​
