"You really want me to stay? Even though I'm not him?" He looked up at him with an earnestly sad look almost like he was trying to process the situation. He was afraid to be called that name. Steve. That just wasn't him. "You want me?"

"Real proud. You're doing great." He gently ruffled his hair. That look on his face killed him. "Thanks. I'm doing better now that you're here."

"Winter." He said feeling himself calm and still feeling his brain reeling from all the memories that seemed to torment him. "....Talk?" He tilted his head to the side, and shaking his head at the mention of shower, his features scrunching up to show a slight dislike at the idea. "Food for talk."

Tony put his hands up to show he meant no harm. "Okay, I got it. Is Winter better?" Tony inquired, staying as calm as possible. The poor man in front of him had been through hell and maybe.. maybe there was a way to save him. But to do that they'd have to talk first. And they couldn't talk if the soldier was killed for attacking him.

"Are you okay to talk for awhile..? Then I had some clean clothes brought for you and stuff for a shower."

In rewatching Captain America: Civil War, it is important to remember that Steve is assembling a team to take on several supersoldier assassins and the mastermind who wants to take over the world while Tony is assembling a team to arrest Steve's team.

The distinction is important.

The Soldier watched the brown eyed man with a tilt of his head. He was disheveled and dirty. He looked at him with a blank stare as though he might not understand him. Then he heard that name. That name the other man called him and all at once he had taken the chair that he had been sitting in and slammed it into the wall.

He became volatile and unhinged, grabbing his head as though he was being hurt from the name being said alone. He had just been about to lunge at the director with a look that said 'please don't.'

"No no, No steve, No Steve!"

Being far from control had become a scary situation for the super soldier that had been in hiding. He had been use to not thinking, not surviving but just existing as he was told. Now he was in SHIELD's control but they had afforded him the kindness that Hydra did not. He was unkempt from his many days without basic courtesies. He had no hair other than the beard and he was generally in ragged clothes.

Now the Director of Shield was suppose to visit him in his interrogation room. He looked up, not talking to anyone else that had been in the room.

"So there's always something, Doctor?" He questioned tilting his head to the side. He looked to the other with a curiosity that seemed to be taken to the other. He wanted to know more. Explore the vast worlds in the Doctor's eyes. But instead he just rested his chin on his knuckles that rested on his knee.

"There's something about you as well. You know I find that each of us have our own traits but your mystery is very appealing to someone that's lived a straight edge life in the past and known very little of the intricacies. "

The man chuckled, nodding in agreement. Tony would've dropped dead, and nobody wanted that. At least, the people in that living room. As Rogers continued, his eyes stayed steadily on the other, leaning his chin on his gloved knuckles. "I don't blame you.. it's harrowing, isn't it? Not even a decade ago, I couldn't imagine believing in what I do today.. and yet,"

Strange motioned to himself with his free hand. "I'm a sorcerer who's gone through the Multiverse." Sometimes, Stephen wished he could go back to being a surgeon; him being blissfully unaware of the world's being right up until the very end. Alas, saving the world helped more lives than being in the hospital did.

"Mm, I'm alright for now. Thank you though." The Doctor bowed his head in appreciation. "You're an interesting fellow too, you know. I've always wondered how you managed to adapt to modern technology."

"You consider me interesting in the fact that I've adapted? Well, we all have to adapt in our own ways. I don't find me particularly unusual from anyone else that learns something new. It's more interesting that you have been through multiple realms. You've seen things that I cant imagine. You have a better understanding of our universe than I ever could."

He paused placing his cup of coffee on the end table on a coaster. He turned his attention to the other and tilted his head. "It's a little harrowing coming from a world of basic understanding to an advanced civilization. It's something of a mystery almost..."

"Well we mustn't give Tony any more health conditions than he already has so we'll keep it between us that I think he is of high intellect. Though I must confess I think the same of Banner and he could use an ego boost. He's a little on the humble side. Though I suppose if I had a massive personality like the Hulk inside me I might feel a little shy about myself too."

He admitted looking at his coffee and swirling it with his spoon. He sipped at it with thought and then turned his attention to what Stephen said of magic. "Well, my extent of dealing with magic was Loki and the tesseract and neither one was a particularly pleasant experience so I'll stick to fighting super soldiers and conquering wars."

He teased, finishing off his coffee. "Would you like more tea? I can make you another cup if you'd like?"

The brunet listened attentively to Rogers. It was pleasant, having words he enjoyed filling his mind- rather than the sinister latter. A warmth filled his chest as Strange was given full permission to visit, nodding once with a look of appreciation. He was a silent listener, using the time to sip on his tea, as Steve spoke of Bucky. From terrorist to Avenger? That's certainly a good change. The man internally remarked, eyebrows raising a tad in surprise. As the soldier went on to.. well, Stephen saw it as a grandiose way to compliment the man's brains, the sorcerer couldn't help but to snicker.

"Well, I'm flattered. And you're right, Stark would have a heart attack from an overinflated ego." And perhaps Strange was letting it get to his head, but he was a lot better at hiding it, letting Rogers continue on. It felt odd to be talked of so highly by a hero like Captain America. Then again, the two were seemingly on the same level.. perhaps Steve might've saved the world a couple more times, but who's counting? Nevertheless, a charming smile spread across his lips.

"It's been a journey. I spent my life wanting to help people, one way or another. Though, I will say.. magic is definitely an upgrade." Strange placed his now-finished cup on the table. "Excellent tea, by the way."

There was something about the way that the people had turned against him when it had been him on top of Tony and he had just been ready to put the shield down in the arc reactor. He could have killed him but the people had turned against him. Now at the Malibu pent house he had been led by guards from the prison and been placed with an anklet on his foot to be sure he hadn't run. He turned his attention to Tony as he stood in front of him.

"You going to gloat now? You won. You got me here and you've ruined your integrity for laws to be put in place that stand against everything that we stand for. I am now going to stay here with you and we both are going to be intimately close when we both have tension."

"Legit tho, Mr. Rogers, Sir... All jokes aside, you're a pretty cool dude. Mad respect. If I could do what you do, I would. All 'Saves The World Daily" Dude. It doesn't matter that my grandmother was still in diapers when you were kicking ass in the wars..."

"Well thanks kid but I've been around since before your grandparents were sperm. "

"I will have you know your company will be welcomed. I don't often get visitors. Tony prefers everyone to visit him so he can show off the posh life and Bucky comes enough that he's hardly a visitor anymore. He's practically a roommate when he's not on missions which is hardly ever. He's been making movements to become an Avenger."

"You know, I've always thought that street smarts is another form of intelligence. It's one thing to be book savvy, it's another to know how to cross the street. I personally think you have a good balance of both though so I'd equate you as being smarter than me. I'd give Tony the same courtesy but his ego would be through the roof."

He chuckled, sipping his coffee and setting himself in his arm chair. He made a raised brow motion at the mention of sometimes less being more. "That's true and honorable coming from a man that has lived without for some time to pursue a more enlightened path. I've heard about your past."

"It's actually one of the Sorcerer Supreme's favorite beverages."

The brunet bowed his head in a nod, feeling a little zap of relief that the other hadn't simply shut the door on his face. Stephen had always expected the reaction, as if the other somehow knew of his latest faults. Steve Rogers was a good man though, Strange knew that.

"Apologies for the sudden intrusion, by the way." The brunet wore a sheepish look. "We, ah, haven't really had much chance to speak yet. I'd like to change that." Strange decided to leave out the need the interaction to keep the Darkhold's urges at bay, didn't seem very casual to admit.

Sorry I haven't been on very much. According to someone I'm going to jail but you know I have yet to hear anything about that from a credible source. I make jokes but I've just been tired. I've been very tired lately and haven't felt like rping much right now. So just so you know all is well.
