More little character details and reveals for Transformers: Chaos Continuum. It’ll be just like the last one: What the character goes by, what Universe they’re in, and if they’re offline or still online:
Ironhide (OF, Universe 2): It/It’s/Itself.
Gears (OF, Universe 2): They/Them/Themself, He/Him/Himself.
Seaspray (ON, Universe 2): They/Them/Themself.
Goryu (Universe 1, ON): He/Him/Himself, They/Them/Themself, It/It’s/Itself.
Blaster (Universe 2, OF): It/It’s/Itself.
Nightshade (Universe 2, ON): They/Them/Themself.
Omega Supreme (Universe 2, OF): He/Him/Himself, It/It’s/Itself.
Rattrap (Universe 1, ON): He/Him/Himself, They/Them/Themself, She/Her/Herself.
—
Ravage (Universe 2, ON): They/Them/Themself.
Deszarus/Deathsaurus (Unknown, ON): It/It’s/Itself, He/Him/Himself.
Atomizer (Universe 2, ON): He/Him/Himself, FtM.
Quark (Unknown, ON): They/Them/Themself, It/It’s/Itself.
Thunderclash (Universe 2, OF): He/Him/Himself.
—
Froid (Unknown, ON): They/Them/Themself.
Sunder (Unknown, ON): It/It’s/Itself.
—
{Nightshade has been friends with Tarantulas long before a lot get sent to the other Universe. Once ending up in Universe 2, despite being with the Autobots a lot, most of the time, they can be found with Tarantulas- mainly in the lab, or just walking around.}
{Brainstorm tends to walk around where others typically show up through a portal if they’re late- hoping that Quark will be okay, and that they’ll show up in the universe that Brainstorm is in.}
{Typically, with anyone who has been offlined in Universe 2, that’s because of Nemesis Prime/SG OP.}

Obviously, Rung & Froid (SG Versions) can’t be the ones to help SG Steam. So... maybe SG Krok could? Since I imagine he’d still wanna do the clinic thing like his regular version- he’d be a good therapist
SG Krok does die btw- like in canon canon lol
OP puts his body on display…
The wiki doesn’t give much info other than he was heroic… but I can see SG Krok being a bit more… selfless? Like, Krok himself already is, but his SG self would probably throw himself into the fray before his men. He wouldn’t make a very good Commander because he wouldn’t be able to keep himself out of the fight.
As for with Steam- I feel like SG Krok wouldn’t be very great with emotions, and wouldn’t have as much interest in talking about them. He’d show love through actions more, and even then it wouldn’t be easy. He’d be a hard person to love because he just doesn’t seem very loving from the outside

Thursday 14 November 2002 - a very gray Bündner land visit - half price ice cream - The Hardhof near ZH Altstetten - supper at the Zeughauskeller
14 November 2002
EN Hi everyone. Twenty years ago today, I took a train from Zürich HB to Chur, past Thalwil, Pfäffikon SZ, Ziegelbrücke and Sargans. I managed to record some Rhätorumantsch from the RTR station and buy a Rhätorumantsch newspaper. Also a shop at the SBB rail station in Chur was having a half-off sale on ice cream, and rightly so because the weather was lousy, but not too cold. I visited the area, and had supper at the Zeughauskeller, close to Paradeplatz. It was a nice end to a visit to Zürich.
Guten Morgen! Good morning! After visiting Valais, Geneva and Frauenfeld, I thought it would be good to see Graubünden once more. It would be my second visit since September 2000, when I also visited the Principality of Liechtenstein. I woke up about 6:30 AM, took a shower, ate breakfast downstairs, checked the train schedules on the coin operated internet terminals, and then took the bus 33 and tram 7 to Zürich HB, to catch the Intercity train to Chur. I was on a Dosto in first class and sat on the left side. If you are on a Dosto riding from Zürich to Chur, you should sit on the left side, so that you can see Lake Zürich after passing through Thalwil ZH, and Walensee between Ziegelbrücke GL and Walendstadt SG. Prior to the Zimmerberg base tunnel construction, you could have a good view, particularly between Zürich-Enge and Pfäffikon SZ. Now it is only possible between Thalwil and Pfäffikon.
Along the way I was listening to the AM frequency of DRS2 and the local FM frequency DRS3, I think, out of the Chur region. DRS2 was playing classical music, and I remember one song on DRS3 being "Round Round" by the Sugababes, followed by "Spiegelbild" by Swiss rap group Subzonic. I made it a point, to record off the radio from the RTR frequency, as it would be in the Rhaeto-Rumantsch language. For those who may not know Rhaeto-Rumantsch, it is a romance language with similarities to Latin, with some words sounding like they may be from French, Italian, and it sounds a bit like Latin being spoken with a Swiss German accent. If you have ever seen Swiss Francs, from the 10 Franc to the 1,000 Franc banknote, you might notice next to the German-language "Banknoten sind strafrechtlich geschützt", there is the Rhaeto-Rumantsch translation: "Las bancnotas èn protetgidas dal dretg penal", which basically means "banknotes are protected by criminal law". Some places in Graubünden will have a Rhaeto-Rumantsch name different than the German name. For instance Disentis is called Mustér.
The train stopped pretty much at the same stations as when I was riding to Sargans on 11th September 2000. There was even the transfer to Glarus at Ziegelbrücke, which I would visit on Sunday 10 August 2003. The St. Galler Oberland across the Walensee from the train tracks was very nice to see. The weather was generally not so good that day. Was mostly soggy and chilly, but not freezing and there was no snow. The train stopped at Sargans and passed through Bad Ragaz before crossing the Rhine into the canton of Graubünden. The train passed through Maienfeld, some people will know this village in Graubünden as the home of the Heidi Village, from the literature written by Swiss author Johanna Spyri. Landquart GR was the next stop before Chur. The train arrived in Chur about 11 AM. It is too bad that I did not plan to take the train eastward towards Davos or Tirano. Those are reputed to be the most scenic train rides, and one of them even has the World Heritage certification.
I had my radio set to the RTR station to record Rhaeto-Rumantsch. Eventually I tuned back to DRS3. To this day it is quite remarkable to have heard the Rhaetorumantsch translation of the hymn "How great thou art" and then on DRS3 to hear an uncensored version of Warren G's "What's love got to do with it". Later on I would hear "If I were a sailor" by Midge Ure, formerly of Ultravox.
At the local Co-Op grocery store, I bought some Emmenthaler, some ham and bread. It was enough to make a sandwich. I think I bought a bottle of Sinalco, the Swiss equivalent of Orange Fanta as found in Germany and much of Europe, but not the USA. I did some shopping, and found a Buffalo clothing and shoe store. I also went into the Manor department store. Both stores offered me their 32-page minicatalogs for free.
It was about half an hour before the train to Zürich HB would depart from Chur. I went up to the Busbahnhof to see mountains in the direction of Liechtenstein and also Heidi's small village of Maienfeld. There was not much snow. The weather was a bit rainy, maybe just a shower, and temperatures about 43 F / +6 C. Kind of really meh-weather.
I took the train back pretty much the same way as I had come earlier. I ended up in Zürich HB, and took a line 6 tram towards Werdhölzli. That part of Zürich, I had not previously visited, other than along the trolleybus route 32 from Altstetten and Farbhof towards Schlieren. There is a stadium close to Hardturm where FC Zürich plays its home games. There was no match that day, but it was good to see where they played. I took the tram 6 to Escher Wyss Platz and transferred to the tram line 8 to Bürkliplatz to see Zürichsee. I walked from Bürkliplatz to Bellevue, then on the Niederdorferstrasse to window shop, but not much else. I had already eaten at the Brasserie Johanniter, so I wanted to eat somewhere else, but maybe not the Blinde Kuh, near the Höschgasse tram stop on lines 2 and 4. My parents had recommended going to the Zeughauskeller restaurant near the Paradeplatz tram stop, so I walked across the Rudolf Brun Brücke to Rennweg where the Modissa department store was located, then down to Paradeplatz. The sign for the Zeughauskeller, the set of yellow calligraphed letters spelling out "Zeughauskeller", was brightly lit and was opened for business. So I went inside.
The Zeughauskeller looked really well kept up. It has been a restaurant only since 1926, but it was a warehouse of weapons from as far back as 1487. There is even a working built-in clock on the wall. I ordered a Zeughauskeller house beer in a liter glass. It was really good. With that, I ordered the veal sausage plate, which came with potato salad. For dessert, I had something seasonal, walnut mousse with whipped cream. I had that with an espresso. It was excellent. The only other time I had walnut mousse, would have been on 5th December 2016 in the Verkehrshaus (Transit Museum) in Lucerne.
It was a really good end to my visit to Zürich that year. Well, I had to go back to the hostel on Mutschellenstrasse, yes, the one painted mauve. I had to sleep, because the next train journey, with luggage, would be long, namely from Zürich HB to Stuttgart, and farther north to Nuremberg Hbf. Please join me tomorrow, when I take the train to Stuttgart and on to Nuremberg, try to find my way to the Höfener Garten hotel, and visit to the M>1 club as suggested to me by someone.
Gute Nacht! Good night!

Dreams and other things
Honestly, I wasn't sure if I would even write this after the day I had. But, writing for this story gives me enough happiness and sometimes is the highlight of my day. Sooooo...
Yea, part 8 of season 2 from my story set in the sentient SG/LL au from @cuppajj is out.
I hope everyone is going to enjoy this. ^^
Trigger warning: none
.."o".."o".."o".."o".."o".."o".."o".."o".."o".."o".."o".."o"..
Rodimus hated that turbofox. Ever since he found it yesterday, it just kept on staring at him as if it saw a ghost. Kind of like those Autobots he hunted and that one Decepticon he accidentally saved. What was his name again? Fulcrum? Yes, Rodimus was pretty sure that his name was Fulcrum. But what does it matter? They were already on their way towards the next planet, and the prime made sure that there were no tracks Thrillchaser or the DJD could follow.
But that also meant he was forced to spend his time together in a room with that damned turbofox. And, apparently, the mut got over his initial shock, because now he was always growling at him whenever Rodimus would even look in his general direction. However, the worst part was that the prime couldn’t even interact with his little brother as long as the turbofox was with him. Whenever Phoenix would be sitting at their table, reading a data-pad or listening to the radio, the turbofox would fix Rodimus with a glare that the prime knew all too well. It was the same glare he had seen on mechs who were accused of treason or those who defected and were caught.
Now that Rodimus was thinking about it, wasn’t there a mech who was a traitor and had a turbofox alt-mode? But this would surely be too much of a coincidence. Then again, he has seen many things in his life. Many coincidences were among them. Which meant, there could be more than meets the eye with the turbofox his brother picked up.
The prime let out a groan at the mere thought. Of course, his luck had to run out at one point, but why did it have to end now? Why did Primus and Unicron do this to him? Was it because of the things he’s done during the war? Was it because of the Decepticons he’s burned? Was it because he was amongst the Autobots who watched Dominus Ambus being domesticated and did nothing? No matter what it was, Rodimus was sure that the two gods were laughing at him now. And he couldn’t even kill the damned mut. No, not when he swore to never kill anyone, unless there was a reason to do so. And there was no reason. Also, how would Phoenix react to him getting rid of that damned turbofox?
Not good. Rodimus was sure of it. Phoenix would probably be devastated, if he should ever try anything. Also, hasn’t he already ruined Dominus’ life enough? If this turbofox truly was Dominus Ambus, then Rodimus owed him. And if he wasn’t, his hands were bound either way. Phoenix has taken a liking to him and Rodimus didn’t have the spark to take one of the very few friends the youngling had ever made. Even if it was a defector trapped in the ody of a turbofox.
“I’m really in it now, aren’t I?” Muttered the prime, as he made sure the ship was still on the right course. “What happened to the prime who didn’t care about others? He grew a softspot for a youngspark.”
Rodimus was pulled out of his musing, as he heard the door to the bridge open and close. “Roddy? Do you think that my nightmares might be trying to tell me something?” Asked his brother, as he sat down next to the captain's chair. Holding a data-pad in his servos.
“How did you come to that conclusion?” Asked the prime as he looked up from the console in front of him and down to the youngling. “Don’t tell me you read something that got you thinking.” After saying that, Rodimus could see how Phoenix averted his optics from his. “W-well….” Muttered the youngling quietly, while his wings slightly shook from embarrassment. “I was reading something, and it says that when two of the three components of yourself are fighting, the third will try to make the wishes of one of the fighting parts true, by either giving you dreams or neuroses. So, it got me thinking. What if my nightmares and fears are my subconscious trying to lessen my fears, or show me what my fears are, so that I could try working on lessening them. But that would also mean for me to take a look at my memories to determine which ones were the cataclysm for my fears. But I don’t want to do that, because I’m scared of remembering the things that happened.”
“Phoenix… give me that data-pad.” Said Rodimus and waited for Phoenix to give him the pad. Which the youngling did, reluctantly. Mostly because he didn’t want his brother to think that he was overthinking again, and also, because that was one of the data-pads he took with him from the Lost Light. Specifically, it was one from Rung’s office. Either way, Rodimus skimmed the text, before letting out a small scoff. Of course, it was one of Froid’s works. “Just because you have nightmares about Lightlost and the Lost Light, doesn’t mean that something is wrong with you, Phoenix.” The prime said, before handing Phoenix the data-pad back. “Do we have to have this talk again? There is nothing wrong with you. You’re fine. Yes, there might be an underlying issue, but it doesn’t mean that it has to do anything with your nightmares.”
“Still…” Muttered Phoenix, which caused Rodimus to let out a soft sigh, before getting up and pulling his brother back to their living space. Pushing the youngling into their dinette and getting something to eat. Pushing one plate towards Phoenix, while sitting down with his own. Never give the turbofox even one glanze. “Eat, you haven’t had anything the whole morning, and you tend to overthink when you’re hungry.” Said the prime and waited until his brother was eating, before starting himself. After that, Rodimus made sure their conversation was stirred towards a more lighthearted topic.
Yes, he knew that avoiding the issue would only work for so long, but Rodimus was no professional. He could help Phoenix hide a body or take out a mech in many different ways, but when it came to a healthy mind? By Primus, Rodimus could need some help himself. So, pushing the issue to the back was the only thing he could do, until they visited a planet housing a psychologist or made their way back to Cybertron.
“Okay, okay, okay. Seriously, Phoenix, you shame me for my preferences in a partner, but then you come and tell me you had a crush on someone who’s alt-mode was a flower?” Asked Rodimus in between laughter, which was met with an embarrassed screech from Phoenix. “They weren’t a flower! They were a mantis!” Yelled the youngling, while he tried to hide the plush forming on his cheeks. “Their alt-mode was a really cute mantis!” That admission only made Rodimus laugh harder. “So, you’re telling me that you had a crush on an insecticon who could turn into a mantis?”
“Don’t you dare judge me for my crush! My mother liked them!” Phoenix huffed and crossed his arms over his chestplate. Giving Rodimus one of his biggest pouts, which didn’t help the prime calm down. It only added fuel to the fire that was Rodimus’ laughter.
Although, Rodimus did stop once the turbofox fixed him with a glare that said ‘Continue laughing and I will bite you’ while it jumped up on the bench and sat down next to Phoenix. Yep, he should have left the turbofox behind. Dominus, or not, he was turning out to be worse than Ultra Magnus when it comes to fun. However, once the prime took a good look at his brother, he could see how upset the youngling truly was. Maybe he was taking his teasing a little bit too far.
“Why don’t you tell me about them?” Asked Rodimus after a while. Getting a suspicious look from Phoenix, before the kid started to talk about his crush. Telling him how they had met, how nice they were and how much fun he had whenever his crush was around. Although, after a while, Phoenix grew quieter, until his words were nothing more than mutters. “But they left. Their creators found another place to live at and I never saw them again… We did keep in contact through comms and such, but they eventually stopped responding… And then I boarded my crew's ship and ended up on the Lost Light.” The youngling sighed, before shaking his head and smiling. “But in their last comm, they told me that they had met a nice mech and started going out with him. So, they are at least happy.”
“And how do you feel about that?” Asked the prime.
“I’m okay with it. I mean… I knew that they would never want me as a boyfriend. Not with how I look, not that I don’t look good, but they would have been a target for… you know…” Phoenix said with a simple shoulder shrug. “Also, I was happy just being friends with them, because we were the best of friends. And I was happy with just spending time together, because I knew that I wouldn’t be allowed to have more than that. Mother was already getting looks wherever we went together. I didn’t want my only friend to have to go through the same.” Phoenix smiled at the last sentence. “Also, they were one of the few who saw me as me and not you. So, why should I care about that, as long as I get a friend to have fun with.”
Rodimus let out a chuckle. The innocence of this youngling was sometimes just too much. “Well, should you ever find your special someone to spend the rest of your life with, they’ll be the luckiest mech or femme in the whole galaxy.”
“Is that a compliment?” Asked Phoenix with a small smirk on his face. “I didn’t know you were capable of giving them out.”
“Only for your brother, only for you.”

I made the above Psychological First Aid infographic based on some of the training resources I used during my own PFA certification process, mostly as a training tool for others doing similar courses, but also to use in some more Transformers analysis of medic characters LMAO
You can see some of my PFA sources, including the source for the above, in this post where I discuss Ratchet’s good PFA practices in TFP.
Click to enlarge the PFA information sheet! :)
At the moment, I’d like to talk some more about Transformers psychology and mental health-- This time, using Rung as an example!
Cybertronian Psychology: What We Know From Canon
We know that Psychology is an established field of practice on Cybertron, with several different mental health specialities being noted in various TF continuities.
Froid and Rung are the best known, while Blot and Bombshell are Psychologists in the SG universe, among others.
But first, it’s important to note that Rung is a Psychiatrist, not a Psychologist!
Here’s a helpful resource for you to learn the difference, which I have summarised for you below:
Psychiatry: The study of mental health problems and related diagnostic processes, management of mental illnesses, and prevention of mental illness.
Psychology: The study of people, all aspects of behaviour, and the underlying sources of behaviour (thoughts, feelings, etc.).
Rung is a medical doctor, at least by human standards, as Psychiatrists are clinicians trained in mental health as a speciality. By Cybertronian standards, we have seen that mental health specialists on Cybertron tend to be mostly if not entirely separate from the general medical staff, which may be a matter of organising healthcare services by category based on a specific Cybertronian system of medical provision.
As Rung isn’t ever referred to as a medic in the same sense as First Aid or Ratchet are, it hints that there are some key differences in how various medical staff may be trained, treated, or perceived based on speciality.
This division of certain care services may have been influenced further by the war, demanding that hospitalists/clinicians be deployed as field medics, while mental health care teams may have been positioned at bases or in more defended areas to allow for post-acute injury assessment, follow up, and so on.
This allows for emergency mental health support teams, such as disaster response, acute or emergent mental health care, and so on-- While also leaving mental health experts on hand at bases or other areas to ensure such care is available and accessible as much as possible.
We see that Ratchet does hint at referring cases to Rung, or receiving referrals for patients from Rung, so we know there is a multi-agency healthcare approach-- At least, on board the Lost Light.
What Does Rung Do?
We see him carry out the following work, here and there:
-Therapy and Support Sessions
We don’t know what various methods of therapy may exist, although from what we see in MTMTE, he seems to provide initial assessments, follow-up sessions, individually tailored therapy, and general mental health services.
-Psychological First Aid
Addressing and following up with patients who have experienced immediate trauma.
-Mental Health Intervention
Taking on acute cases or referred cases to step in and assess + provide appropriate mental health care.
-Provision of Referrals to Med Bay (Additional Care Services)
In many healthcare systems, direct referral is referring a patient over to a specific named clinician, where a general referral is passing the patient to a service or hospital department etc. to determine who will see them and when.
In the context of the Lost Light, Rung seems to be able to assess a patient and determine they are at risk; At that point, he has a direct line to the CMO (Ratchet), which we see evidence of at least twice on panel.
Two things can then happen:
General Referral: Ratchet can then assign the patient to another medic to make an appointment and follow up. This is a non-emergent option, meaning if a patient is deemed at risk or in acute need of further care, a direct referral is preferred.
Direct Referral: If the patient requires more specialist care, Ratchet may be named to take the patient in as “acute priority” for himself, meaning that he will pick up the case as he is the most experienced clinician available in their Med Bay. He will then see the patient as immediately as possible to address any concern(s).
If another clinician is named (First Aid, Velocity, etc.), then they will have the “acute priority” patient and carry out the same process from there.
Risk Assessment Process
The methods used for identifying patients at risk can be complex, and it seems that in Cybertronian psychology, there are some similarities in assessment processes compared to real world risk assessment.
Here is a guide on good practice for assessing risk, provided by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
The above document gives a good idea of what “red flags” or concerns may be of note, and how to potentially handle a patient who may present a risk.
This process may vary for Cybertronians, but possibly not by very much, as a lot of risk assessment is designed to be somewhat general as each patient must be assessed individually whenever possible-- There is no universal assessment process, as factors may vary significantly from patient to patient/situation to situation/etc.
However, due to the differences in the physical aspects of the Cybertronian mind, there will inevitably be some serious deviations from real world practice.
Many of these have extremely frightening possibilities; For example, note the panel below:
With humans, many mental health concerns may have chemical imbalance or other organic/physical element as a significant or secondary contributing/compounding factor.
But with Cybertronians, their minds are essentially computers.
Far fewer chemicals involved, compared to the number of mechanical components that may also present similar mental health concerns if any of those components should be damaged or working improperly.
So, in a way, that difference is a similarity!
Even so, the physical differences in relation to the mind are still significant to note:
In the panel above, Rung is discussing a patient that has been deemed to be at risk by Froid, who has elected to employ extreme methods of “treatment”, seemingly in an attempt to resolve the mental health concern.
Personality adjustment, in this sense, is to essentially re-write someone’s personality. It’s not an effort to see if further support may help change or improve someone’s wellbeing. It’s literally saying “your personality is bad, and it’s very hard to fix, so we’re going to give you a new personality.” YIKES.
In human beings, addressing personality concerns is an extremely complex and lengthy process. Our brains form physical pathways, and physical and psychological factors are both heavily involved in personality development, resultant behaviour patterns, and so on.
With Cybertronians, you can get a mneumosurgeon to step in (likely via referral, as there seems to be an established care pathway for this process) and just... Clean out the mind. Literally.
This is alarming for a lot of reasons, but primarily because of this key point:
Cybertronian mental health services do not seem to require patient consent, only the consent of a lead physician or healthcare professional.
We see time and time again that it is not the patients being directly asked questions about their care or treatment methods, but rather, whoever is deemed to be “in charge” is asked instead.
Patient Care: Ratchet vs Rung
Even Ratchet pushes it a little sometimes, when he occasionally pushes back now and then whenever a patient chooses a care option that he has not recommended or approved of himself, even when that patient is well informed and has stated their wishes repeatedly.
(Yes, even if a decision isn’t the best clinically speaking, a patient still has the right to determine how they would like to proceed with any medical care-- Or even to proceed without any further medical care.)
Of course, patient consent as we understand it is based on real world, human medicine. We don’t know what Cybertronian patient rights laws or practices might be in place.
For example of a real patient consent framework, you can find a good outline of informed consent according to the Council of Europe’s Convention for Human Rights right here, as published by the European Commission.
In context, Ratchet’s push back is sometimes understandable, such as when a care option chosen by a patient may be potentially seriously dangerous for the patient or for others.
But it’s still worth noting, as such push back (especially with Ratchet’s usual grumpiness and his status as CMO lending him significant authority in matters of patient care) can sometimes cause a patient to question themselves, leading to them giving consent for a procedure they didn’t really want for example, or leaving a patient confused or unwilling to engage as much with medical staff in the future, in a way that can lead to unwanted or unintended outcomes of care.
It seems as though the war has compounded serious problems with patient consent in Cybertronian medicine; Problems which were already established as being par for the course prior to the war.
There are several reasons for this, including political influences on medical best practice guidelines before the war even started, which resulted in all sorts of horrific medical practices and procedures being carried out. This includes, of course, empurata.
My father was an Army Medic who was part of MEDIVAC/CASEVAC, and... Let’s just say that providing care while under active fire is wildly complex and difficult for all involved, and the triage process is the framework for pretty much everything after a certain point.
In conditions of war, patient consent gets complicated, too. Typical care frameworks are likely unable to be applied or are not applicable in such situations, the battlefield/wartime specific frameworks for patient care that do exist may not be applicable in all scenarios-- Medical ethics and patient care in the context of war is extremely complex.
Rung, from what we see in canon, seems to have retained a very firm and possibly somewhat uniquely kind and patient-focused set of personal professional ethics. He doesn’t seem as weighed down by the war and any necessary deviations in practice standards or procedures, in contrast to Ratchet, who we know deals with at least some degree of trauma around perceived failures to provide adequate or successful care under the conditions of war.
We don’t know about all of what he did during the war, but we do know that he was unsatisfied with the way things were prior to the war, and we know that he did not give in to poor standards of practice even when other leading professionals in his field capitulated to political pressure, social pressure, and constantly slipping care standards.
Ratchet has also maintained strong professional ethics and upholds excellent practice; We know he was also upholding personal professional standards far above those expected of him during the pre-war period.
However, his patient care can be a little more questionable here and there, with his grumpiness sometimes causing him to forget that not everyone will respond well or tolerate the more gruff approach that he developed out of necessity for himself and others during the war.
(And we all know how his advice to Drift went down pre-war... Not the smoothest, although he is seemingly not trained in providing emotional support for certain at-risk patients such as Drift was at that time, lending to my theory that specialisation works differently in Cybertronian medicine. Which would explain a lot. I will make another post about pre-war Drift and Ratchet’s interaction, later, to cover it in-depth!)
This is not to compare them too directly, as their situations and experiences vary significantly, and of course, we can’t compare Ratchet to Primus Himself...!
But Ratchet and Rung are great examples of using patient focused practice and standards to disregard common/legal but harmful protocols in favour of actually preventing harm and actively addressing healthcare concerns, particularly for those most in need.
Rung and Maintaining Duty of Care
He takes on significantly at risk or “dangerous” patients, such as Whirl, and continues to maintain ethical and professional standards even when under duress or at risk of harm for specifically doing the morally and ethically right thing.
He even names Duty of Care as his reasoning for maintaining patient confidentiality, even when the patient himself is threatening him for doing just that.
This is a good document provided by the Australian National Mental Health Consumer and Carer Forum, which outlines some key Duty of Care basics.
It’s almost time for me to get ready for my actual job at a clinic lmao, so I’ll leave this post as-is for now.
As always, sorry for the length, but I hope this is interesting to someone! :)
If you read all of this, thank you!!! <3

MUSE/Character descriptions!
Gala:
Gala is the adoptive child of Rung and Magnus! She is an African American girl who is 2’0ft tall and is 4 years old. Gala for the most part is very sweet and naïve, she is also easily influenced by adults and friends.
She has a protecer/mech suit named Zeey, who most of the time stays in her room unless he senses she is in trouble.
Gala often spends her time drawing, playing dress up and tending to her garden on the lost light. She sees both Undex and Sparky as big brothers.
Nicknames given too the Mtmte/LL bots:
Nicknames: Rung(Daddy), Ultra Magnus(Maggy or Papa), Minimus(Mini or papa), Whirl(Werl), Swerve( Steve), Megatron(Meggy-ton or Meggy), Brainstorm(Brainy), Perceptor(Perry or Percy), Nautica(NaNa), Trailbreaker(Trail or Sleepyhead),Ratchet(Ratty, she heard drift call him that or Grandpa ), Drift(Dwift), Rodimus(Roddy), Froid(Bad man) and Verity(V or big sis, even though she knows their cousins!), Red alert (scardy cat or red),Fort max(Maxie), Silverblade(Mr knight), SG silverblade(Alpha),Unicron (Uncle Uni)
If I missed anyone let me know!
Undex:
Undex is the Sparkling of both Nautica and Rodimus! Undex is a very Brave and intelligent little boy,he is also only 7 years old. He looks up to his sire and wants to be a prime one day! Though Undex pretends to be tough he tends to cry and get embarrassed really easy.
Undex’s best friend/bro is Sparky! He is the only one on the ship(as of now) knows that Sparky is a kremzeek. He often tries to help Sparky be come more like a cybertonian, he’s never one to not help a friend in need.
Undex is know for being abnormally short for a sparkling but hates when people point it out. Whenever a bot or person states he’s small he often quickly turns to rage. He’s known for having a small amount of anger issues. This as of recently has caused him to have the ability to explode, though it won’t kill a normal sized mech to be killed it will burn/ blow them back quite a bit.
Undex also can drag a mech around Rodimus size and carry a mech around Tailgates size if he needs to.(this is because primes in my universe aren’t supposed to have child, so some side effects will occur! :D).
Kup is often seen as seen around Undex, and usually takes care of him.( @blustering-old-fool )
Sparky:
Sparky is the adoptive Sparkling of Whirl, he is also not a cybertonian but a kremzeek in disguise! He is very polite and sweet, he will often introduce him self by bowing or shaking his hand. He is also very oblivious since he was alone most of his life, not quite understanding certain things unless told to him by Undex.
Sparky is 9 years old, that makes him the oldest on the blog as of now. Sparky often spends most of his time with Gala and Undex playing around, As of now Undex and Gala are the only ones who know he’s a kremzeek as stated before hand. Since Sparky is a kremzeek in a body made from parts he found, he often can’t feel most pain. Sparky also can’t feel hungry for energon, so if he goes to long and forgets to refuel his body will collapse making it difficult to move.
Sparky mostly feeds off electricity, both from appliances and bots(though it won’t kill them, it’s kinda like a succubus type of thing). So he often eats from Undex or the ship itself, this causes blackouts. Sparky usually doesn’t escape his body unless he’s alone with his friends or there’s an emergency.
Sparky often calls his adoptive sire whirl “caretaker” instead of “sire” this is because he is scared whirl will never truly accept him as his son knowing he isn’t cybertonian. Sparky often gets weird looks from bots as well because they think he has empurata, but truly he could find a face plate that fit and another optic. Sparky is usually use to people being scared or judging him but he tries to stay positive anyway. Maybe because he’s made of positive energy? He really doesn’t know.
Sparky has the ability to manipulate electricity, he also has the ability to create different type of magnetism. This causes other bots to sometimes float, be attached and sometimes be repelled. Though Sparky will never use this on another bot unless he’s pranking or defending himself. This also causes him to get tired really quickly and requires more energy.
Gale(Tailwind):
Gale is the sparkling of Tailgate and Cyclonus! He is the only adult of all my muses and is currently a few hundred years old! He is seen as the eldest brother of the four of them.
As of now he is not currently on this blog at the moment, though he will be mentioned by the kids occasionally. I have plans of bringing him over here soon!

My Shattered Glass AU centers on Rewind because of course it does. It deals with his two closest relationships and their circles of influence. So Chromedome as one, with Brainstorm, Prowl, and various members of the SG’s version of the Institute like Trepan, Sunder, Froid, etc.
And then Dominus as the other, and his new home in the DJD, who are now a vigilante justice team protecting Decepticons and neutral sympathizers. They’re basically still freaky but not freaky enough to domesticate him when they find out he’s a traitor and a nice enough family that Dominus starts to think about defecting to the Decepticons for real.

Do you have or know of any fic rec lists for Rung-centric fics? I've gone through all of your stuff already (extremely good!). Either they're thin on the ground, or the tendency to tag him when he has a single line in a 40k fic is drowning them out.
Little did you know you came to the person who spent their first six months in fandom methodically working their way back through every page of Rung tagged fic in the AO3 archive.
I have a LOT of content for you. There is more content than this but this but I don’t wanna overload you, so I have to stop somewhere
Towards Truth (gen) https://archiveofourown.org/works/1169529Actually consider Owlix’s oeuvre of Rung content:

Initials LG - SG

Muse List: Updated!
Cybertronian:
Sunder, Froid, and SG Rung.
Cybertronian OC’s:
Acidwing- A blue and silver seeker with bright, acid green optics. He’s very proud, and unwilling to accept aid unless it’s absolutely needed. He’s currently searching for the one remaining member of his trine.
Burnout- a tiny, minibot medic, with bright red and blue paint. She’s very shy, and happy-go-lucky, but has a rather crass sense of humor. She wears fire retardant gloves to prevent an outburst from her Outlier powers, which allows her to produce fire from her palms.
Tricep- a bright green Empurata, who turns into an arm, as the remains of a gestalt. He’s rather wild, but also cold, and analytical, and an amazing engineer.
Requiem- a minibot outlier Priest Of Primus. He’s very dedicated to his duties, and often tends to the orphans that the temple cares for.
Fallout: New Vegas OC’s:
Jax- a young girl, born into the Legion, who ran away from home at 16, and got a job as a Courier. She uses a large, red baseball bat as her trusted weapon, and has teamed up with Boone currently.
Fallout 4 OC’s:
Luke/Lucas- A sentinel in the Brotherhood of Steel, he grew up as an orphan in DC, And was adopted into the Brotherhood as a Squire. He developed a very close relationship with Danse, and they were deployed together into the Commonwealth. They are currently in a relationship together, but I am welcome to multishipping.
Andromeda- also know as ‘Charmer’, she is the number one spy in the Railroad, besides perhaps Deacon, who she has a running rivalry with. Her and Glory get along very well, and she can often be found hanging out with Nick Valentine.
Trollhunters OC’s:
Barbarus/Barb- A changeling with very little interest in anything that doesn’t directly affect him. He runs a garage in the center of Arcadia, and currently is playing host to a horde of goblins, one of which he saved.

Imagine how SG Rung would be like/how he’d act
Okay so… how would that work though??? Would Primus himself still be ‘good’ and Unicron ‘evil’???
Rung though, very manipulative and sleazy. A bit like regular Froid personality wise
