He loves to cuddle, an absolute baby when you’re alone. Likes to lay down and put his head in your lap. I definitely think he has Mummy Issues.

Would love to settle down! But it wouldn’t be like every other person deciding to do so. He still has important things he has to do. Kind of like the royal family in a way. He would love to be a dad and a husband, but he’s also a leader.

They’re a bit more quiet, not wanting to bother you with certain thoughts and emotions he has. But when they start to get too heavy, he turns to you for help. And you gladly do so. You want your partner to always be able to come to you.

He’s absolutely fine with commitment. Doesn’t care about being ‘tied down,’ or with one person. He wouldn’t be pushy though, like he needs to be married right now. He’s just happy going with your comfortability.

He can actually be extremely gentle. He’s the most compassionate of the Ragnarssons.

Of course, he does. He wants to be as transparent with you as possible.

He doesn’t get very jealous unless another person is trying to kiss you or take you away from him. Then he will put that person in their place. Equally so, if he sees someone making you feel uncomfortable, then he will come down like a tonne of bricks. No one makes you uncomfortable. Not ever.

Very gentle and enveloping kisses. Tender. He likes to hold your face in his hands and kiss you like it’s the last time. He’s sentimental that way.

Ubbe is amazing around children. He respects them as human beings, who have feelings and thoughts. He’s very patient with them. If you do ever have children, he would be an amazing father. Would hold them and hum until they fell asleep. He also has the best stories. 

When Ragnar left, Ubbe took over being the father to his younger brothers. He stepped into the role to help Aslaug, his mother.

You usually wake up at the same time. He isn’t much of a morning person. But he doesn’t whine about having to get up. He just does it, and usually wakes you up gently. 

   “Morning, my love.” And says it with a kiss to the forehead. 

𝑵 = 𝑵𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 (How are nights spent with them?)

Usually cleaning yourselves up, and unwinding by talking about the day and what happened. Sometimes advice is asked for, or questions mulled over. All is done while having dinner, getting changed, and getting into bed. If there’s any arguments they’re solved in the morning, because staying up to solve them will only make things worse. At the end of the day, you know that Ubbe is the man for you. 

𝑶 = 𝑶𝒑𝒆𝒏 (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

Not all at once. But more than slowly. He’s a leader in the community, and has a lot of responsibility on his shoulders. He’s felt that way all his life, and thought the pressure was normal. It wasn’t until you heard how he grew up that he realised ‘oh, maybe I have endured a lot of horrible things in my life.’ 

𝑷 = 𝑷𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 (How easily angered are they?)

Isn’t angered that easily. He can see things in different perspectives, and although he can be stubborn, he can be swayed. So he sees things in various points of view. He always tries to be level-headed before turning to anger. He’s seen Ivar when he’s angry, and he never wants to become that. 

𝑸 = 𝑸𝒖𝒊𝒛𝒛𝒆𝒔 (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing or do they kind of forget everything?)

He doesn’t remember every little detail, but he does remember the things that you find important.

His favourite moment was the first time you stood up for him. In that moment he saw how loyal you were, and that your love was true.

He is very protective but knows you can handle yourself. Like all Vikings, you have the training and there’s this fierceness in you, that he knows can be honed. He trains you himself in more than one area; allowing you to become skilled in all weaponry.

Quite a lot actually. He wants to show you how important the relationship is to him through gifts and remembering important anniversaries. Will through you a huge banquet in your honour because “you have suffered my presence for ten years, you need to be celebrated.”

Farts a lot. Will let one rip in bed and it absolutely stinks.

He is more concerned than you would think. He likes to portray himself in a certain way - his markings, hair, tattoos etc. It’s all meaningful though. The way he cares about his looks has a reason behind it.

・He loves when you’re focusing on something, your eyebrows scrunch together and your lips purse. It’s so adorable to him.

Ragnar is very affectionate. He’s like a dog - he likes to nuzzle his face in your neck or stomach. He loves when you play with his hair, or run your nails over his skin. Ragnar is a very touchy person.

That you can put him in his place. When you lean your head against his shoulder. The colour of your eyes. Ragnar sees a lot of beauty in you. Some days you have to remind him that the sun doesn’t actually shine out of your ass.

It’s the adventurer in him. It’s his destiny to seek out the world. But there comes a time when all he wants to do is go home.

Ragnar always tries to hide whatever is bothering him. He doesn’t want to weigh you down with the information. But you’ve spoken to him about keeping things hidden. You want to be involved in decisions and that means knowing the whole truth. Whenever he’s upset, or worried, his goofy nature dials back.

Ragnar would be quick in wanting to be married. Although he doesn’t want to settle down in one place, he does want a wife (or many ... wives?) and have as many kids as possible.

Very fast. Probably the third time he saw you in a romantic setting. He falls in love very quickly.

Ragnar hates getting up. He’s always groaning about wanting five more minutes. But that usually turns into ten and then fifteen. You’ve tried pulling the blankets from him, but he fell asleep anyway. You’ve also tried pushing him out of bed but he just sleeps on the floor. You’re next experiment is pouring cold water on his head.

The nights are usually for feasting, and then he wants to sit in front of the fire and have you tell him about your day. He doesn’t like not being involved in your life.

You’re still finding things out about Ragnar. It was very hard to separate fact from fiction, because the townspeople like to create stories about him and pass them off as truth. But you know Ragnar, and you told him that you will believe nothing until he tells you directly.

Ragnar is only quick to anger when he’s insulted or someone has insulted you. Otherwise, he’s as cool as a fish in winter. Oh, or if he’s been mentally bested by an opponent.

You thought Ragnar forgot about many things. And sometimes he does, but he remembers the colour of your eyes, especially after a long time apart, and he remembers the first day you met. He remembers your birthday ... but only your birthday. Sometimes he forgets his own, and definitely forgets Rollo’s.

The first time you got mad at him. You had picked up one of his shoes and threatened to throw it at him. He dared you. So you did. It was that moment that he was sure you could handle him. And he completely fell in love.

Will fart and burp without hesitation. And will go take a piss wherever he feels like it. Sometimes you think he may be part animal, maybe a dog.

Historically speaking, Vikings were actually really hygenic. Much more than the Englishmen, or alternatively known as the Anglo-Saxons. Fiction writes that England was the progressive and most knowledgable society. But Vikings bathed way more often, brushed and washed their hair and ... generally cleaned themselves. 

So Ragnar follows those customs - his hair washed and braided, he always cleaned himself up, especially after battle. But in terms of vanity - when caring about how attractive he looks ... he doesn’t really care. He knows that he’s a good-looking man, but doesn’t spend his days looking in the mirror and preening over himself.

Ragnar loves you because not only do you encourage him, but you’re by his side, wanting to experience everything with him. Ragnar adores your creativity and open-mind. You’re just as much of a dreamer as he is.
