COP + CRIMINAL

Esom (Because This Is My First Life) and Lee Da-hee (Search: WWW) play partners and besties, who both fall for their respective suspects for a crime spree against the patriarchy. (Think: Evening the pay gap at a major company; exposing scandals of sexist politicians; and chemically castrating sex offenders). Esom's love interest is Park Eun-bin (Extraordinary Attorney Woo), and Da-hee's love interest is Seo Yea-ji (It's Okay to Not Be Okay). It's a romantic crime thriller.

FRIENDS to LOVERS

Seol In-ah (Business Proposal) plays a new-money rich girl who hires a former old-money rich girl, played by Yoo In-na (Touch Your Heart), to be her personal assistant out of pity, but pretends she doesn't know her backstory. And Yoo helps Seol navigate rich society. Their conflict is that Seol's family bankrupted Yoo's family, and is getting the life Yoo was supposed to have, including the fiancee, the job, and the house. It's a sweet romantic comedy.

BOSS + EMPLOYEE

Kim Ji-won (Fight My Way) starts a job at a family law firm and works hard to get one of the partners, played by Son Ye-jin (Crash Landing on You), to be her mentor, but only because she wants her job. She starts off as a frenemie before Ye-Jin's hard edges rub off, and Ji-won develops a crush. Their obstacles are that Ye-Jin is married and in the closet, and Ji-won might be too ambitious to let go of her goals. It's a slow-burn romantic legal drama.

COOL GIRL + DORK

Park Shin-hye (Heirs & Pinocchio) plays a cold fashion house designer who hires an unlikely candidate to be her muse, played by Moon Ga-young (True Beauty). And what starts off as a toxic relationship blooms into a supportive one. Park Bo-young (Strong Girl Bong-soon) plays her head of design, who befriends Ga-young's bestie-turned-manager, played by Kim Seul-gi (Oh My Ghostess). They're the softer side couple. It's a romantic workplace dramedy.

FRIENDS to ENEMIES to LOVERS

Seo Hyun-jin (Why Her?) and Gong Hyo-jin (When the Camellia Blooms) were friends in college, but they had a falling out after a misunderstanding about a guy. They have a tense reunion as adults when Hyo-jin is setting up her nuptials at the wedding hall Hyun-jin manages. It's a slowburn romantic drama.

ONE-SIDED OBSESSION

Shin Min-a (Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha) plays the wife of a very powerful and abusive man and Hwang Jung-eum (She Was Pretty) plays the maid who is secretly in love with her and helps her escape. They go to Jung-eum's hometown where everyone assumes she's bringing her girlfriend home for the first time, because she didn't have the heart to tell them she got dumped after running away to be with her. Min-a decides to pretend to be the woman to pay her back, and they fall in love. The conflict being when Jung-eum's ex, played by Park Min-young (What's Wrong with Secretary Kim), returns to get her back.

Well, if the speculation is true that Chief Ji's son became a monster and has long been kept hidden by her all this time from the stadium residents, then that makes her an interesting parallel to Yi-kyung

Mothers who love their child, but also strongly fear and hate on what their child has become or has always been, to the point that the fear eventually drowned out their love for their child

Yi-kyung controlled and abused her daughter out of fear and paranoia. It didn't end well like your ordinary parental abuse in real life in the name of keeping their child safe or for the better of their child bla bla bla, made worse that her daughter could read her mind and feelings like an open book.

Judging by Chief Ji's reaction of Ye-seul in her room and in last episode, probably her son has become dangerous/horrifying enough it scared the shit out of her to even get near him to do something to him. Or maybe he already is from the start? Who knows.

It's only a matter of time for Chief Ji before she must decide on whether to put an end to her son for good or ending up with a similar fate like Yi-kyung: reaping what they sow. Either being eaten alive, watching him died/killed by others, killed for sheltering him, killed when she tried to protect him, or etc. Only season 3 next year could tell

A classic kdrama that is hella melodramatic. It has an amazing cast with a pretty decent storyline that gets amped up to 100% filled with betrayals, secrets, romance, murder, revenge, evil villains (like evil evil) and heartbreaking events. There’s also some funny situations to break up all the melodramatic moments. Lee Dong Wook and Lee Da Hae is magnificent in this their chemistry together is amazing as well. My only problem is that the drama is way too long and would of been a ten for me if it was edited down to at least ten to sixteen episodes. There was way to much repetitiveness to it going back and forth with the same issues, where no development of characters were happening nor the plot. Eventually it did get there. Overall it’s a nice drama especially if you like over melodramatic ones.

The Universe's Star;

Woo-Joo yetenekli bir şarkıcı-söz yazarıdır ve Byul-Yi ise bir ölüm meleğidir. Hayranı olduğu çocuğun hayatını alması için gönderilince aralarındaki romantizm dizinin konusu olur. Benim yorumum üçlemenin en pasif ve silik hikayesi buydu. Hikaye anlatmak istediği duyguları anlatabilecek kadar uzun olmadığı için izleyiciye pek bir şey geçmedi. Ama çok da ciddi bakmamak lazım tabi.

Romance Full of Life;

Çok uzun süredir polis memur sınavlarına hazırlanan So In-Sung  8 kez başarısız olmuştur. Buna rağmen hiç neşesini kaybetmemeye çalışır. Kız arkadaşı Wang So-Ra  ise artık onunda ayaklarının yere bastığını görmek ister. Aynı zamanda o da kendi içinde zor zamanlar geçirirken anlık bir kararla ilişkilerini bitirir. Dünyası yıkılan In-Sung  tesadüfen gördüğü  "Hayat Dolu Deney" isimli bir ilaç deneyine katılarak para kazanacağını düşünür.  

Bu hikayenin konusu ilginçti. Tamamen mükemmel insana dönüştüren bu hap ile yapay bir popülerlik kazanan karakterimizin aslında ne istediğini keşfetmesini anlatıyordu.

Queen of Ring;

Benim seriye başlama nedenim ve en eğlendiğim hikaye ise buydu. Aileden gelen genetik bir çirkinliğe sahip kısa boylu bir kız olan Mo Nan-Hee bir gün annesinin sırrını keşfeder. Ailesinde nesillerdir ailenin kadınlarına miras kalan bir yüzük vardır.  Yüzüğü sevdiğin kişinin sana takmasını sağladığında karşındaki kişi seni görmek istediği ideal güzellikte görmesini sağlıyordur. Babası gündüz işteyken yüzüğü annesinden ödünce alan kızımız okulda sevdiği erkeğe dünyanın en güzel kızı olarak görünür. Ancak yakışıklı çocuğumuz Park Se-Gun yüzüğün büyüsü ile yıllar önce karşılaşıp beğendiği bir kızın yüzünü görmektedir. İşte o kız bizim Nan-Hee’nin arkadaşıdır ve aynı okula kaydını yaptırınca işler karışır.

Hikayeler böyleydi. Üçü de yumuşak, kısa, keyifli zaman geçirten tatlı dizilerdi. Çok uzun konuşmaya gerek olduğunu düşünmüyorum. Sıkıldığınızda açıp 10dk bakıp kapatabileceğiniz, küçük bir kaçamak olarak düşünebilirsiniz.

You were used to being the center of attention, during your life before this you were a celebrity, I mean you were really pretty, popular, and rich. Now here you are, in a world where status doesn't even matter anymore, yet this one girl, that annoying piece of crap had some type of status in this haven.

Ye-seul had this obsession with Chan-young, a baseball player who's currently serving his mandatory time, you've met him once at one of his baseball games and they let you pitch the first ball, clips of him teaching you how to pitch went viral among fans. You've never talked to him outside of that, but ye-seul being the delusional fan she was, they had it out for you, especially when you arrived at the shelter.

You just couldn't let her talk however she wanted to you or harass Chan-young, so you flirted with him in front of her for weeks just to piss her off. It's funny to see how she would react depending on the bold statements you would say. Many times getting reactions out of him, his reactions were so cute you would have never thought a man with so many fans would react nervously or so blushy to what you thought was basic flirting or joking around.

Chan-young had a nice face, such a mix of cuteness and attractiveness was mind-blowing, the more you saw him the more you wanted to play around with him. His pleading-like looks, his personality, and his build got to your brain. You would give up anything just to get a taste of him, but you held back because you wanted to continue playing around.

"Hey, can I talk to you"

You heard a voice from behind you breaking your thoughts causing you to turn around to see Chan-young. You nod and get up to follow him to a nearby hall, lifting a blanket that was placed there to dry. You didn't even realize he had grabbed your shoulders and pushed against the hallway wall.

"Are you just playing with me or are you serious"

Damn. You started to think you must have gotten on his nerves with how you acted towards him, but then again maybe he wanted it.

"Why, do you want it to be serious?"

You replied with a slight smile on your face, thank god you were good at acting because you were nervous, I mean you've never seen him so serious while talking to you.

"Yes...I want it to be serious. Don't you understand, I like the attention you give me, I don't want this to just be some fun game"

Fun game? At first, it was just to piss that girl off but you ended up being very honest with the way you flirted with him. Hearing him say he wanted to be serious was good enough for you, you've always been a bold and up-front person, but his confronting you made you want to hear him talk about it just a little more before you did what you wanted.

"Fuck.. I mean I know you don't like ye-seul but tell me you're just not playing around with me. I'm serious about you."

That's it, it's close to what you want to hear, his hands still on ur upper arm, maybe it was the look on his face, the more impatient he got, the happier you got. You couldn't hold back anymore, Your boldness increased due to the current situation.

"Then make it serious"

You grabbed his face to mash his lips against yours, and his hands quickly moved from your upper arm to your waist, pulling your body more into his. His hand placement was just right, making this situation feel 10 times more attractive than it already was. Your makeout session went on for a while, and it went on violently as y'all both fought over control. Being that his body was pressed against you, you could tell how excited he was due to the hardness against your lower body, impulsively but rightfully you slid your hand down his body to the spot.

"We..we can't do this here"

He automatically said after noticing you were getting more into it, it's not like he wouldn't mind but there were people close, and things could get outta hand if y'all got caught. You, on the other hand, were down, no matter what, if people could hear, let them hear, if y'all got caught "yolo" is what you thought.

"We can...plus I don't think you want to walk out of here like that"

It would be completely noticeable if he walked into the main area struggling against his pants. You'd rather fuck here than wait forever, there was a blanket that was left to dry that was covering the hall, so it's not like anyone would see, you hoped anyway.

Chan-young took a minute to think about this though, but hell, he would get to let everyone know indirectly that you were his. The idea of the people who wanted to get with you, being disappointed by the idea of you getting smashed in some hall by someone else.

Without any more hesitation, he went straight back to kissing you before trailing down the side of your face to your neck, leaving big noticeable marks as he kissed and licked at your neck. You slid your hands down to his body until you got to his waist, pausing before you reached for his belt. Unbuckling his belt was your main focus, well it would have been if you weren't pushed harder against the wall and again, his body, your focus going back to his hard spot rubbing against you.

"Fuck being kind and slow with it" you quickly came to realize, plus you would want to hurry anyways due to the drying blanket being your only privacy, to be honest, you were kind of into it. You went straight back to your mission to unbuckle his belt, successfully unbuckling it, and slipped your hand into his now loose pants, attempting to wrap your fingers around him, earning a sweet sound from him.

Chan-young isn't one to rush, he's known for his all-round patience with others, but right now? He couldn't wait to get inside of you. The little to no space between you two made it hard for you to fully wrap around him, at this point you were just messing around with his tip while he pressed against your stomach.

Patience? That's starting to decrease by the second as he continues to moan against the marks he made on your skin, one of his hands going up to grip your hair.

"Fuck.."

He repeated a few times against your skin, he couldn't think of what to do next, all he knew was that he wanted to be one with you in the quickest way possible. An exchange of a few facial expressions was all he needed to continue; As if you were an opponent, he made you face away from him, and now the only thing you could see was the blank concrete wall in front of you. You placed one of your hands on the wall for support, Chan-young, on the other hand, was behind you pulling off your underwear, and leaving the skirt. You wouldn't have imagined someone with such an innocent face would have the boldness to make a relationship real, nor screw you in a hallway, this was on another level of excitement. Damn man, if you knew this would have happened you would have been asked him to be official

Chan-young gripped your hips tightly as he entered you with quickness, making you yelp, with that reaction he knew to start slow, the sounds you made sounded so soft and sweet to him, only making him desire more but all he could do was hold back for the time being. You could only cover your mouth with your free hand, you were sure that anyone close would be able to hear you, the thought was pretty exciting. Chan-young pacing himself couldn't have made this any better, all this excitement made you grip around Chan even more. A moan and a slight laugh came out of his mouth when he realized your excitement, his grip getting even tighter on your waist, you were sure it would leave marks.

"You like that? Speak up, let everyone know how much you enjoy this, you want them to know don't you..?"

He said in that soft-ass tone, Well..yes! Of course, you wanted to let everyone know that's your man, especially that dog-faced bitch. The hand you had barely closing your mouth went to the wall, and nodding was all you could think of doing, for someone so brave a few minutes ago there was little to no dominance or confidence at the moment.

"Good to know.."

With no prior warning, he quickened his pace, causing the hallway to be filled with the sounds of your voice and the sounds of skin-to-skin. You tried to grip the nonexistent ridges of the wall, your hands balling into a fist. Chan-young didn't let up with this pace, especially now, you being louder than before. The overstimulation was kicking your ass, I mean, letting everyone know he was yours? this position, his pace, just him in general. This high couldn't be replaced with anything else.

"Chan...please, I can't.."

Those words were repeated, as he slid one of his hands up your body to grip the back of your hair, his grip was nice and tight. You, on the other hand, were in a daze, you couldn't even think straight, you wouldn't even be surprised you found yourself drooling or foaming from the mouth at this point, your eyes started rolling to the back of your head as you got closer to your climax. Chan-young was getting close, you could tell from his pace getting a little slower, it wasn't long before you reached your climax. Chan-young followed, coating your insides with warmth.

"Shit..."

After a few minutes, y'all tried to fix yourselves up, putting your clothes back in their respective places, to at least walk out to go clean up, even if people could hear you, you didn't want to look that messed up, even though your legs were shaking. Seeing that you were struggling to stand Chan-young squatted down in front of you signaling you to get on his back. You got onto his back, wrapping your arms around his neck as his arms went under your legs.

As y'all left the hallway y'all talked about your relationship, each other, and the future. As if nothing had ever happened in the hall you both talked romantically turning the hot situation into a sweet heartfelt moment, even helping each other wash off afterward. Chan-young is one sweet man, especially when it comes to you, the more you stick around each other the more you fall for him, you were sure, no matter what happens you were going to be there for him, and he was going to be there for you.

I know Queen of Tears is not everyone's cup of tea. But after reading some fans' sentiments and contemplating, I'd like to share my two cents/realisations on this:

1. I like that the story started out with a very realistic plot: a married couple falling apart but then rediscovered their love for each other. I do agree however about the sentiments of some viewers about the storytelling.

2. This isn't a romcom. It's a heavy drama with a couple of light and funny moments here and there. I would have appreciated it more if the writer focused mainly on the root cause/s of BaekHong's marriage falling apart:

The loss of their baby

Hae-in's family being toxic af (at the time)

And then shift the focus on their healing, and while BaekHong did eventually find their way back into love, it kinda throws me off that the show seems to divert the viewers' attention from that one crucial part of the story, the very reason why their marriage started to crumble and that is addressing the loss of their child. They briefly discussed it, but not as thorough as I personally would have liked (example: being honest about how they felt at the time, finding ways on how to properly handle their grief and acceptance of what happened, etc.).

Perhaps Hae-in could have expressed how she felt about her mother mistreating her all these years, then they could have been given more time to rebuild their relationship before she went to surgery.

3. Adding Eun-seong and Mo Seul-hee in the picture...I'm sorry to say this but it basically ruined the main plot's momentum. At this point, this whole revenge thingy is just "dragging" (like this bullshit is taking longer to unveil than BaekHong getting back together). I like the twists in the story but I think they overdid it, it's like one twist after another to the point that it becomes exhausting and it kills the excitement for some viewers.

Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy watching this show, I think the actors are great, they made me love and hate their characters, I highly appreciate the role reversals in the main characters, and I think it's still entertaining, I appreciate that Park Ji-eun tried to add something outside of the box to spice up the storyline, but yeah...idk how the show is gonna pull this shit off with only 2 episodes left.

The big thing about The Knowing is The Suffering. There is a melancholy that seeps into you and makes you think you aren't enough. These characters are hard to watch. I know you asked about shows, but I'm doing some movies as well because I've been thinking about genre history lately. For this it's about whether or not the quiet sadness in me connected to the quiet sadness I perceived in a character in this show.

Moonlight (2016)

He is the saddest boy in my heart. This is the moment that breaks him forever.

For The Boys

Jamal, Syed, and Anthony have suffered for being who they are, and they are hurting. They cling to each other and it's often too hard.

Weekend (2011)

This man is so lonely even if people love him. I feel melancholy for days any time I watch this film.

Big Eden (2000)

I don't know who taught him shame, but there's this sense of surrender in Henry that has haunted me for fifteen years.

A Single Man (2009)

Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci play some of the saddest gay men who have ever existed. This entire project is about grief.

Inthawut is the saddest man in BL.

I keep meaning to write something about this show, but there's something special about going into a relationship you know won't be forever because of external factors, and also choosing to make that time as special as possible.

I'm never getting over Karl and Vlad. I'm sad we'll likely never see them again because in so many ways the specific pieces of melancholy in each of them are why they didn't walk away together.

To My Star 2: Our Untold Stories

These two were not left at HEA and they didn't end there this time, either. Both of these two are carrying some heavy shit in their hearts, and I find comfort in seeing them stumble and keep trying.
