I spend a lot of time seeking out and listening to queer music and artists, so I thought I'd share a list of some of my favourite artists* in case anyone's interested and doesn't know where to start.
*disclaimer: these are just some of the artists I like, not an exhaustive list of queer musicians. If you want to add suggestions, that would be awesome. I tried to group artists by genre, but many of them cross genres or are difficult to classify in that way.

Okay, hear me out on this…“Howard the Duck” MCU special feature:
1) Seth Green reprises his role as Howard
2) Man-Thing/Ted returns from “Werewolf by Night” since Howard and Ted are friends in the comics. Gael Garcia Bernal could make a cameo appearance at the end.
3) Kate Micucci plays Beverly Switzler, Howard’s love interest. And the series doesn’t shy away from the awkwardness of a human being romanced by a talking duck.
4) Will Ferrell plays the main villain, Lester Verde aka Doctor Bong. And no, he doesn’t have weed powers, he wears a bell-shaped helmet that can be “bonged”.
5) The tone is a parody of the Golden Age of Hollywood. Imagine “Casablanca” and “Gone with the Wind” but instead of Humphrey Bogart and Clark Gable, it’s Howard the Duck.
6) Run-time will be about 45-50 minutes.

Here are some details from the desk setup in our living area.
At first glance it’s nothing too special, but the simplicity makes it a great shared workstation. It mixes nostalgia with modern accents, which I like to think gives a timelessness to it. Our home is a 1955 ranch style tract home designed by architect Charles Du Bois. It’s always important to me to remember this when putting together an area of the home and to consider the intention of the space so nothing feels out of place.
The desk, which belonged to our grandma and is a bit beat up, brings character to the setup. It’s unmarked so we don’t know its history, but I enjoy it because it contrasts the technology around it. The leg space under the desk is really narrow and it was hard finding a chair small enough, but this KYRRE stool from IKEA was a perfect fit.
Next to the desk is the MoMA Poppin file cabinet, which serves as not only storage for our important documents, but is a home for the printer and all our mailing supplies like envelopes and stamps. Ideally I’d like to move this into the closet someday to be out of sight, but for now it works.
The desktop is minimally set up with just a lamp, computer, and trinket tray my best friend got me for Christmas. The lamp is IKEA’s FADO design. I love its orb shape and soft glow and that it gives a bit of a visual break from all the corners in the space. The computer is the 2021 iMac. I’m in love with this computer because of the white bezels, variety of color choices, and lack of logo on the front. It’s a friendly design that fits comfortably in a home. The trinket tray features Divine in Pink Flamingos and was designed by Seth Bogart for the John Waters: Pope of Trash exhibit at the Academy Museum. It’s a fun piece that gives the setup some personality.
Hung on the wall is some watercolor art my mom did when she was as a kid and a mirror that was once in my great-grandma’s home. I really like how these family pieces brings a sentimental value to the setup and anchor the more modern pieces, making everything feel more apart of the home.

Incredible @karondavis! 👏🏿
Reposted from karondavis For @hollywoodreporter Oscar issue along side a great group [of] Artists. We were asked to create our own Oscar, so I did a bit of a history lesson on the Egyptian God Ptah. The creator of the Oscar claims it is a man wielding a sword to protect all in the academy to me it's obvious where he took his inspiration from. Bloop

COLONY HOUSE releases “Would Ya Could Ya,” in anticipation of The Cannonballers, dropping 2/3/23
The music of Colony House—an indie rock band made up of brothers Will and Caleb Chapman, as well as Scott Mills and Parke Cottrell—is playfully self-described as “landlocked surf rock.” Their personal genre designation is as much inspired by their hometown of Franklin, Tenn., as their new album The Cannonballers is: within 11 tracks, the band delves into where they come from and how a place, and its memories, have made them. “It’s too easy getting sucked into the grind of everyday life the hustle and the hurry we all willingly subject ourselves to,” Caleb says of the newest single. “‘Would Ya Could Ya’ is about breaking the mold. At surface level, it’s a ‘let’s get outta here’ open road, never look back type of cruiser, but beneath the surface, I think it recognizes that we are often the obstacle standing in our own way and that it’s up to us to make the next move.” Following the February 3rd release of The Cannonballers, Colony House will embark on a national tour, kicking off on February 11th at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. Dates HERE. The Cannonballers marks the band’s fourth full-length release: their three previous studio collections take listeners on a journey through stories of loss, grief, and heartbreak while welcoming them into the hope that comes on the other side. Their 2014 debut, When I Was Younger, included the single “Silhouettes,” which became the #1 most played track on Sirius XM’s Alt Nation for four months straight. Only The Lonely, whose title and demeanor pay tribute to the vintage sounds of Roy Orbison and the Beach Boys, followed in 2017. The surf-rock hit, “You Know It,” went viral on Tik Tok, and has amassed 100 million streams across all platforms to date, after being featured as the soundtrack to Samsung Mobile’s nationwide ad campaign. Leave What’s Left Behind was released in January of 2020; the band managed to play half of their 40 city headline tour before being forced to pause alongside the rest of the world. Like many touring artists, they found different ways to continue to create, producing and directing a full-length feature film, “Everybody’s Looking For Some Light,” which was an official selection at the Nashville and Knoxville Film Festivals. The movie debuted at a two-day drive-in event produced by the band at Greystone Quarry in Franklin, TN. Over 2,000 people (in over 600 cars) showed up to watch the film and see Colony House perform. The band has performed their songs for worldwide audiences with two appearances on both Late Night with Seth Meyers and CONAN, as well as The Today Show, VH1’s “Morning Buzz,” and MTV Live. They have also been part of several festival lineups including Shaky Knees, Austin City Limits, Firefly, WonderBus, and Lollapalooza. 2023 will see them adding Bonnaroo to that already impressive list. The Cannonballers is an apt addition to the band’s catalog, staying true to what Colony House does best, and expanding on what their fans have gravitated to for the past decade: hope and light in the midst of it all. No frills, no gimmicks. Just heart-level rock and roll music. The Cannonballers is now available to PRE-SAVE and will be out everywhere on February 3rd, 2023.
