He sighed then gently placed his on your face. "If I said I adored you, would you reciprocate my feelings?" He questioned. Your face lighting in a smile. "Is this a confession?" He flushed, breaking out of his stern and usual, cold character. He pulled you in for a hug, intimate but gentle and warm. A few more moments he pushed away, grabbing his kimono.

"We should head back to the camp." You just chuckled and nodded, dressing yourself, walking hand in hand with Sesshoumaru.

That night, you stayed awake, replaying the event.

Y/N didn't hesitate, she knew she couldn't resist him even if she wanted to. She followed him into the woods, her heart racing with excitement and fear. They walked in silence until they reached a clearing, where Sesshomaru turned to face her.

"Tell me, Y/N," he said, his voice low and husky. "Have you ever been with a demon?"

Y/N's cheeks flushed at his question, but she couldn't deny the desire that coursed through her body. She shook her head, unable to find her voice.

The board meeting had gone on much longer than expected, not giving him enough time to get back to his hotel before his return flight. His luggage had had to be delivered to the airport, and even sitting in first class, he wasn't about to struggle with changing inside an airplane bathroom.

He'd forgone the red-eye in favour of returning to Tokyo at a reasonable hour, but now he sincerely regretted it. A later flight would've meant sitting in the plane in clean clothes, along with an inflight meal instead of a stale pastry parading as a snack.

He needed a meal, a shower, and new clothes.

He needed her.

Sesshoumaru dragged a hand through his hair. He'd been forced to cut it short several years ago to fit in with modern society. It had been an attempt at trying to make himself more approachable but ended up having the opposite effect, only serving to piss off the one person whose opinion he actually cared about.

He'd been growing it back out ever since.

It was down to his shoulder blades now, though still not long enough in her eyes. "How am I supposed to grab onto it when it's so short?" It hadn't stopped them from meeting up—apparently, she enjoyed his markings the most—but she enjoyed twisting the knife every now and then.

She'd even gone as far as to request he put on his old regalia, berating him about how shameful it was to parade around pretending he was the Lord of the West. The real master of the shiro wouldn't be caught dead without his illustrious hair.

They'd both sported bruises that night.

Grabbing his suitcase from the overhead compartment, he clicked his phone out of airplane mode. He'd readied the Uber app before they'd taken off, but now his thumb hesitated over the submit button. He should go home. The fridge would be stocked and the water hot, bed made to his liking. It would be everything he needed right now, save one.

But it was that very one that had him changing the address on his request.
