The small boy sniffled as he sat curled up on the stiff bed, he wiped at his inky bloody tears irritating the scales around his eyes, the hospital gown was itchy and he hurt so much, his stomach raw and raised with angry wounds from where they’d cut him open and reached inside. He didn’t like it here, he didn’t want to be around the bad doctors and their mean hands. He was tired of the interviews and tests, the surgeries to open him up and look around inside him, he didn’t like the nasty food or the injections or medicine that made him sick and turn green. The medicine and tests that made him grow scales and had split his jaw and made his teeth fall out, and grow claws that split his nails on his hands and feet. He was scared and tired, he wanted to go home, he wanted to not be hurt anymore. He didn’t want to be made into a saint like the doctors kept saying they were doing to all the kids, there were others like him, displaced they called them. Apparently the displaced were special and perfect for the project.

Snake Nerd, here to tell you more about snakes. This one is gona be a bit more scientificly dense, but very interessting.

Today’s fact, Snake teeth and Fangs.

There are four different types of teeth/ fangs. Or better like one type of teeth and three types of fangs.

Frist are the non-venomous snakes. These are called aglypen snakes. These snakes have no fangs, just normal teeth. See your Pythons, Colubridae, Boa and every other non-venomous snake.

Next are solenoglyph snakes, these are the snakes that come to mined when thinking about snake fangs. The Fangs of these snakes can rotate by 90 degrees, when their mouth is closed the fangs are nicely tucked in the mouth. If they open their mouth their fangs jut out by a pretty good amount.

These are your Vipeirdae and Crotalinae. Depending on the species of snakes the fangs can be 2cm to 5cm long (google won’t cooperate so I don’t know what it is in inch)

Third are proteroglyph snakes. Here the fangs are fixed in their position in the mouth, only able to move a little bit. This is why these fangs aren’t as long as the fangs of solenoglyph snakes. Snakes that fall in this category are cobras, Elapidae and Hydrophiinae.

Now this one, if you know this one I’m going to be very impressed. This is the secret third type of venomous snake that’s not very well known. Opistoglyph snakes. They’re venomous snakes who’s fangs are located further back in of their mouth, right under their eyes. Also, the fangs are in pairs.

God examples for this type of snake are hognose snakes and False water cobra. (one day, one day I will have false water cobra, and I’ll love it)

As you can see, you have quite the choise when it comes to your Naga!boys. Plus depending on the fangs it could make for some cool characterization, potentialy.

I am absolutely making notes about teeth and how they could translate to the naga boys! Not to mention a good host of snakes that can be used as bases for such creatures hehe I'm also fascinated with the fangs that can be tucked away before springing back out—imagine a wide grin framed by two wicked fangs!

He was so hungry, his stomach cramped and stabbed with pain, the cold air left him shivering as there was little warmth for him to get heat from the environment. His hands were long since numb and dead, chained above his head to the marker he felt so thirsty swallowing felt like sandpaper in his throat. His back hurt open lashes slowly shedding skin, his regeneration slowed due to starvation, he made a mistake. He shouldn’t have disobeyed, why did he fight in front of others? He should know better. His naked form was curled up against the marker that glowed deep green light at his touch as each lethargic blink brought jarring visions of nonsensical, maddening mess, leaving his head throbbing and eyes heavy in need of rest. How many days had he been chained here now? He lost count, it was a cruel punishment for daring to argue in front of others, to voice he didn’t want to give samples to prove he was from Earth; hell his legs and chin still ached from the cuts made by the blades of his cane, he was so tired, when would it be over? The saint mumbled broken apologies, hoping to be heard and finally set free, to be able to go home and eat, to bathe, drink and sleep, to just be free from these agonising binds, to rest his screaming shoulders, to wipe the bloody tears and pull the plants from his face.
