of the many injustices put forth toward the show by fans i think the most overall damaging and telling of a complete lack of critical viewership is the idea that sam riegel builds his characters with nothing more than the bit in mind. like you are only telling on yourself if you think characters like scanlan shorthalt and veth brennato are one-dimensional and depthless

Have you seen black sails? I don't want to spoil it but I imagine the "they live" au being similar to a certain plot in that show. Bittersweet and you're not sure if it's really a *good* life but at least they're together.....

I can't tell you how much I appreciate and cried over this episode.. It's was maybe a little to relatable too...Kinda shows why I love her so much to begin with... I suggested you should check it out!

After the Gangreen Gang, who would you say is your favorite character in the show?

This is so hard! I really love the Powerpuff Girls collectively. I always loved them all but as a kid Bubbles was my favorite, as a teenager Buttercup was my favorite, and now I can’t pick! I feel like a piece of each of them lives inside me and picking just one feels wrong :,)

I feel like the girls are the embodiment of nostalgia for me and I really love them all. I see them and it fills my heart with warmth honestly!

Favorite villain OTHER than the gangreen gang though is Mojo Jojo for sure. Mojo Jojo was my favorite villain as a kid too!

I fell down the Hazbin Hotel rabbit hole and my lord the show is amazing. The characters and themes are so captivating! And of course the songs are slowly taking over my brain :)

I’ll be back to post good omens fan-art soon of course, but this show was too good to not draw a little part of it :))

Overall thoughts on the 60th anniversary dr who specials?

I loved them.

I can’t wait to see Ncuti Gatwa’s Doctor again.

I just know that he is going to be fantastic.

i love them very much, fourteen and donna are so dear and beloved to me, but i’ve been waiting for fifteen for aaaages like damn… smack my ass and call me The One Who Waits bc i’ve been so so so patient and rtd has given me CRUMBS. i’ve been luxuriating in Ncuti’s wonderful performance so far and watching all the released scenes/trailers, and i can tell he’s gonna be absolutely brilliant. already is. i’m chuffed, couldn’t be happier :)

2023 in review! I made an effort to try more things and it worked mostly (at least for TV and movies). New things, new-to-me things, and new installments of old things all had characters to love even if I didn't necessarily feel fannish about them, and I'm hoping 2024 does, too.

1) Three non-romantic duos: Hmmm...brotps I adore would be Jack and Daniel (SG-1), Sam and Daniel (SG-1), and Lune and Matsen (Jade Torch -- is it cheating to use my own book??? xD) If that's cheating, then Sam and Frodo (LotR).

2) A ship that might surprise others: I kinda ship Link x Mipha from BOTW. I like Zelda x Link too, but something about Link x Mipha is just so sweet and tragic. I like that they knew each other for a lot longer than Zelda and Link knew each other.

Let's be real. I don't have a lot of crazy ships. Although, in SG-1, I do ship Vala x Tomin (but I also like Vala x Daniel).

3) Last Song: Shackleton by Adam Young

4) Last Film: My parents and I watched Hitched for the Holidays last night. Very funny romcom with Joey Lawrence. It's a Hallmark movie from 2012, so just before they all got so unbelievably cookie cutter/copy+paste with their plots.

5) Currently reading: Operation Grendel by Daniel Schwabauer

6) Currently watching: The X-Files. I'm nearing the end of season 1. I've never seen it before, and I'm loving it!

they made Cleo a lesbian which is all I ever wanted but I can't even appreciate it because they handled it so fucking badly because this season's showrunners are allergic to having genuine authentic character moments that matter and I hate being upset but I AM

I've only been a Doctor Who fan for a few weeks, but the husbands of river song is probably one of the best episodes. As someone who loves any episode that includes River Song and having the 12th doctor as my favorite. It's just full of so many little details of how they really love each other. Twelve getting jealous of River kissing other men and calling them her husband, twelve constantly trying to hint to her he's The Doctor, her love declaration for the Doctor thinking he doesn't love her, him asking why she looks sad about her diary, "Hello, Sweetie", and 24 years in a single night. Need I go on? I wish they got more than that one episode together. The ending makes me sob because of how romantic and sad it is because the next time River sees the Doctor, she's going to die. What's worse, he won't even remember who she is.
