So what Lily is saying here is she doesn't have a fucking lawyer. If she, personally, had a lawyer that she could call up and sick on people the way she likes to threaten lately, that would mean she had a lawyer on retainer. Which means she would be obligated to pay said lawyer regularly, similar to an employment arrangement, for her to be considered an exclusive client of that lawyer.

A pro bono lawyer, however, is not a lawyer that works exclusively for a single person or entity. They are lawyers you can hire on a single case basis, and they don't make any money until the case is settled. After that, the contract is over.
