Hank Voight x Fem!Reader - Pt. 2
Request for @maximeseveridecaseyc - I hope you like it!
Synopsis: Part 2 of THIS request - Reader and Voight are taking the next step in their relationship! :)
Eight months went by, your relationship with Hank growing deeper and more passionate every day. Your bruises had healed, and you’d naturally gained some weight, but it was good weight. You were happier and despite still having nightmares, Hank stayed by your side. You often spent your days in his house, as you felt safe there. He urged you to go out on your own, because he didn’t want to restrict you. When you did leave, you went to Molly’s and worked a weekend shift, especially when Hank was wrapped up in a case.
One day, Hank came home to you, a wide smile on his face. It was rare to see him in such a good mood due to his line of work. You walked to the door and greeted him.
“Hey baby,” you said softly, waiting for him to strip his outer jacket and shoes before wrapping your arms around his neck, pressing a soft kiss to his lips.
He looked down at you, his smile only growing. “Hey there,” he replied. “How was your day?”
You laughed. “It was good. Looks like yours was too.”
He kissed you again, rubbing your waist. “Even better now that I’m home with you.”
You smiled, putting a hand up to his face, stroking his cheek with your thumb. “Seems like you’re extra happy today.”
Hank hummed, turning his head to kiss your hand, using one hand to take it and hold it. “Come on, let’s eat dinner. I’m just so happy to see my girlfriend.”
You laughed, using your free hand to rub his chest before he whisked you away to the kitchen. The two of you decided to cook spaghetti. You and Hank worked together on the meal, Hank playfully getting some sauce on his finger and pressing it to your nose. You gasped and laughed, getting him back by saucing him in the cheek. You both laughed, the happiest people in the world in those moments. The rest of the world didn’t exist as the two of you laughed and wiped the sauce from one another’s faces.
You wrapped your arms around his torso, pressing your face into his chest. “You know, when I first met you, I never thought that you’d be such a softie.“
Hank couldn’t help but blush when you called him that. “I hope you don’t go around telling people that. I have to keep my hard-ass reputation.” He laughed, stroking your hair as he held you close.
“No, it’s just for me,” you whispered, pulling back and kissing him deeply.
Hank smiled down at you when you parted. “Yeah, it is.” He reached into his pocket, pulling something out after a moment and keeping it hidden in his hand. “Look, (Y/N), you’re the first person to make me happy since Camille passed on. I want to make sure you stick around. I know it’s really informal but
I want to ask you if you’ll marry me.” Hank opened his hand to reveal a simple engagement ring.
You blushed deeply, gasping softly when he asked, tears welling in your eyes. How could you say no to him? He made you just as happy. You slowly took the ring from his hand, nodding as you looked up at him, slipping it on your ring finger. “Yes
Yes, Hank, I’d love to marry you.” You pushed closer into his embrace as he pulled you as close as possible, kissing you deeply, passion and love pouring from his soul, directly into yours. You felt completely fulfilled by this moment alone.
You wrapped your arms tightly around Hank, practically jumping into his arms. He smiled and pulled you up, setting you up on the counter as he turned off the stove. “You know, I didn’t plan to do this until after dinner, but it was so
 perfect.”
You smiled down at him, carting your fingers through his hair and rubbing the nape of his neck. “Yeah, it was perfect,” you affirmed. “I couldn’t think of anything better.”
.
The next day, you went with Hank into work, as you sometimes did, especially because you liked to visit the intelligence unit, who had come to be your close friends and practically family.
It was Antonio who noticed it first. He was a father, and he had taken on something of a parent role to you as well. He looked at your hand, then met your eyes and smiled. “Congratulations,” he said softly, so the others wouldn’t hear.
“Thanks,” you whispered with a nod as you walked over to see Erin and Jay in the break room. “Hey guys.”
Erin smiled when she saw you. “Hey, (Y/N)!” She walked over and gave you a gentle hug. “You seem different.”
You shrugged a little. “What do you mean?” You smiled at her as Jay handed you a cup of coffee, which you held with both hands as you sipped.
Erin hummed, looking you over. “You look like you’re glowing.”
“Well, I had a good night last night,” you said with a small laugh.
Hank came up behind you in the doorway, a rare smile on his face. Erin didn’t see him smile like that often, meeting his eyes for a moment before Hank looked down.
Erin’s eyes turned to you, gasping when she saw the engagement ring on your finger. “No way,” she said with a laugh. “Hank, you sly dog.”
Hank shrugged. “What can I say?”
Jay laughed. “Congratulations.” He walked over, giving you a small hug, then shaking Hank’s hand.
Erin came over and hugged you tightly. “I’m so happy for the two of you.” She smiled, then hugged Hank as well. “I’m glad you make each other happy.”
You turned to look at Hank as he hugged his foster daughter, a bright smile on your face. “Erin, I’d love it if you could be my maid of honor.”
Erin turned quickly to you, smiling. “I’d love to, (Y/N). Anything you need, let me know.”
Hank chuckled. “We talked about it last night. We decided we’d just have a small wedding and elope. Just close friends.”
Antonio walked in, smiling and shaking Hank’s hand. “Congratulations - both of you.” He hugged you tightly, kissing your cheek. “You both deserve it.”
You smiled and hugged Antonio tightly. “Walk me down the aisle?”
Antonio pulled back, looking at you with a look of surprise. “Me? Are you sure?”
“Who else?” You asked with a smile.
—
Three months later, you were dress shopping. Your wedding was set for a month out, making you both excited and nervous. It wasn’t a huge ceremony, but you wanted it to be just right. Hank was the love of your life, your first true love and the man who ultimately treated you like you were worth more than a passing glance. You weren’t a body with Hank, you were a person.
“(Y/N),” Erin said, gently putting a hand on your shoulder. “You ready?”
“Yeah,” you said, walking with Erin into the store, Jay right behind you.
When you walked in, you were greeted by a man and a woman, both of which would be assisting you.
.
After trying on eighteen dresses, you were exhausted. None of them were quite right. You liked a few, hated a few others, and were indifferent on the rest. You were upset that you couldn’t find one you loved and were going to settle on one of the ones you thought were okay instead. That’s when Jay popped out of the aisle. “Hey, (Y/N), try this one.”
“I’m exhausted, Jay,” you groaned. “It’s fine, I’ll just pick one of these.”
“No, I’m serious, this is the last one. Try it.”
“Jay
” you whined. “Come on
”
Erin walked over to Jay, looking at the dress he was holding, then nodding. “Come on, (Y/N), one more.”
You looked at the both of them, then sighed. “Fine. But this is the last one. Then I’m leaving.”
You got into the dress which fit you well in all the right places. You bit your lip as you looked down at it, wondering if it actually looked as good as you thought. When you walked out and stood on the podium, you looked at Erin and Jay on the couch first. “Does it look okay?”
Jay smiled brightly, nodding. Erin gasped and stood up, walking over to you. “(Y/N), you need to see it for yourself.”
You bit your lip as Erin helped you move around to the mirror, your eyes closed tightly. When you finally got the courage to open your eyes and look, you blushed, then tears welled in your eyes. You put your hands to your face, gasping as you started to cry. “It’s
 perfect.”
“Told you,” Jay said, standing and joining Erin. “It’s always in the last place you look.”
You laughed, shaking your head and wiping the tears from your face. “That’s only lost things, silly.”
Jay shrugged and chuckled.
—
You and Hank had decided at the last minute to have your wedding on the steps of the 21st district. Seeing as it was a weekend, the foot traffic could be routed through a different door. Trudy was able to take care of it for you. She was so happy for Hank that he had found someone new since Camille had passed. You, Erin, Stella, and Sylvie were a block away at Sylvie's apartment. The girls had personally taken care of your hair and makeup, styling it so that your face was perfectly framed. As you finished assembling your dress and got your shoes on, you looked in the mirror, biting your lip. Everything was perfect, and you were glowing. The engagement ring on your finger was sparkling brightly, and you couldn't help but smile, thinking about Hank, hoping he thought you were beautiful too.
A knock came to the door. Erin walked over and cracked it open, then allowed Antonio inside. Antonio stepped in, nodding to the three bridesmaids, then to you with a small smile. "Beautiful."
"Thanks," you said softly, nodding back at him. "Is everyone ready at the district?"
"Yep, just waiting on you." He walked over, offering his arm. You took it, the two of you walking downstairs and out to his car. Erin, Stella and Sylvie got into another car, driving ahead of you and Antonio so they could get set up. Toni sat in the driver's seat beside you, waiting a few minutes before he started driving. He looked at you. "Hey, how are you feeling?"
You took a deep breath as your eyes shifted to his face. "Butterflies. Lots and lots of butterflies."
Antonio chuckled, gently taking your hand for comfort. "Hank feels the same way - he just won't say so."
"How do you know?" You squeezed his hand.
Antonio laughed. "I haven't seen Hank so frantic in my life. He knows this is a small event, but he wants to make sure it's right. For you. He understands you haven't been married before and he wants you to have a good day."
You smiled softly, thinking about Hank being frantic. You could barely imagine it. The level-headed man you'd come to love, hard on the outside and soft on the inside, how could he be so frantic? You looked out the window as Antonio drove you to the district, the butterflies in your stomach getting stronger with each passing minute.
When you arrived at the district, Antonio kissed your cheek, then got out and opened your door for you, handing you a bouquet he had grabbed from the back seat. It was made up of your favorite flowers. He helped you out, then the two of you walked across the street. At the top of the stairs stood Hank, Alvin and Jay beside him, a third spot left for Antonio. Chief Boden from Firehouse 51 was officiating your wedding, standing in the middle with a small smile. Erin, Stella and Sylvie had since taken their places on the opposite side of Al and Jay, a spot left for you. Each had a grin on their face, except Hank.
Hank's eyes moved all over you. He examined every part of you, from bottom to top. When his eyes finally met yours, he nodded a little, swallowing hard. You wondered if he wanted to back out, but as Antonio led you up the steps toward Hank, you could see he actually had tears in your eyes. You teared up as well, seeing that he was crying just looking at you. The two of you were overwhelmed with emotion as Antonio let you go and into Hank's arms, taking his spot beside Jay. Hank hugged you, mumbling in your ear. "You're beautiful... Inside and out... I can't wait to make you my wife."
You sniffled, trying not to rub your makeup on him. Al handed you a tissue, as if he knew you would need it beforehand. You took it with a silent thanks, pulling away from Hank to dab your eyes, then holding his hands. You barely listened to Boden until your part came, Erin handing you the wedding band for Hank, and Al giving the one for you to Hank. You repeated the words Boden asked you to, then Hank to you. The two of you were still dabbing your tears every so often, voices barely a whisper, as it was all either of you could muster without breaking into tears.
After you exchanged rings, you exchanged vows, promising to love and support one another - no matter what came your way. Each of you promised that your marriage meant more than just a body to sleep beside. Your marriage was the most important thing in your lives, come what may.
After exchanging the rings, Boden talked a bit more before the two of you were finally allowed to kiss one another. Hank pulled you close, a soft yet desperate pull. He touched his nose to yours, finally letting tears stream from his eyes. "I love you," he whispered softly before closing the gap and pressing his lips to yours, kissing you with the same passion, love and energy you had felt the first time he kissed you. You returned it all, holding onto him lovingly, clutching his jacket for life, as if he might leave if you let go. You finally had something good, and it was yours to keep. Love.
When the two of you finally parted, you whispered back, breathless. "I love you too." Finally, the claps and cheers of your wedding party and audience came to your ears. You smiled and faced the small crowd of friends, waving with your free hand, holding your bouquet in the other. You threw it out into the crowd, Kim catching it. She blushed as Adam laughed and put his arm around her shoulders. Then, Hank walked you down the steps, smiling like a fool. The two of you got into his Dodge Durango and drove away, waving. You went to his house, practically already both of yours. The two of you changed into something a little less fancy, but still nice. Then, you shared a few moments together, gentle and loving, before leaving and heading out to Molly's for your reception.
--
When the two of you arrived at Molly's, the party was already in full swing. Trudy and Erin made sure everyone was having a good time. You and Hank walked in, everybody clapping and hollering. Hank held your hand, smiling and even blushing. It was a blush he would pass off as it being too hot. Only you and a select few others knew that his blush was real. The two of you walked around, talking with everyone. Mainly though, Hank did the talking while you just enjoyed holding his hand. The two of you had some casual drinks, but you were already exhausted and looked forward to spending the night in his arms, leaning into him. He cast his arm around your waist and pulled you close, allowing you to lean further into his embrace. His embrace was the best place on the planet, and you never wanted to leave it.

JUST LOOK AT THAT FLOOFY DRESS. So Giselle and Edward don't end up getting married but this is one of my favorites just by nature of how over the top it is.

What if we get to Good Omens 3 and realize that Good Omens 2 just deadass happened in the middle of the Second Coming and everyone has been waiting for Aziraphale and Crowley to catch up with the program?
And just when they think they might actually be getting somewhere, Az and Crowley hurt each others' feelings and go their separate ways while everyone is facepalming in the background because these two lovesick dumbasses still aren't paying attention.
The Them and Adam are just standing there pacing or tapping and Anathema and Newt and Madame Tracy and Shadwell are all like "well someone is going to have to personally drag them over here kicking and screaming and it's not going to be me" and Jesus is like "can someone please explain the zombies to me?!?" đŸ˜±

Name: Cassiel (meaning "Angel of Mercy" or "The Vow of God")
Role: Former Angel of Justice
---
Backstory:
Cassiel was once an esteemed angel in Heaven, tasked with maintaining order and enforcing the delicate balance of justice across the cosmos. As an Angel of Justice, his job was not only to execute the will of God but to ensure that laws, whether they were of the divine or earthly realm, were upheld without exception. He was known for his fairness, devotion, and unwavering loyalty to Heaven’s cause, never questioning the system he served.
In his many years, Cassiel observed the world of humans with a detached interest, noting the complexities of their lives, their capacity for both light and dark, their emotions, and their struggles. It was a fascinating, albeit chaotic existence that stirred something deep within him. He had always kept his distance, viewing human life through the lens of his angelic duties, but there was one human who changed everything—Amelia.
Amelia was a kind-hearted woman, a talented artist who found joy in creating beautiful works from the mundane world. She wasn’t particularly powerful or influential, but her soul was pure, and she had an innate empathy that allowed her to connect with people in ways Cassiel had never witnessed. He first saw her from afar, watching as she gave a homeless man food or comforted a grieving friend. There was something so distinctly human about her kindness, yet it felt so divine in its simplicity.
At first, Cassiel tried to ignore the pull he felt toward her, knowing the rules of Heaven. Angels were not to interfere with human affairs, especially not in matters of the heart. But as time went on, the attraction grew into something far deeper than mere curiosity. Amelia’s art spoke to him on a level he couldn’t comprehend—her paintings of love, loss, and joy seemed to echo his own thoughts, even though she was unaware of his gaze.
One fateful night, Cassiel appeared to her in a dream, unable to resist the desire to communicate with her. They spoke of the human experience, of beauty, and of love in ways that Cassiel had never thought possible. In those fleeting moments, the angel saw a side of humanity he had never allowed himself to experience—something raw, vulnerable, and entirely beautiful. Amelia’s soul wasn’t perfect, but it was real, and that realness made Cassiel feel something he had never felt before: love.
He fell for her. Completely. Deeply. In a way that no angel was ever meant to.
For a while, Cassiel tried to maintain his duties, but his mind kept drifting back to her. He began to sneak away from his responsibilities, often taking the guise of a mortal to spend more time in her presence, watching her from the shadows, admiring her passion, her creativity, and the way she gave her heart so freely to the world. He saw something in her that Heaven had never taught him to appreciate—true, unguarded love. It was something divine, even in its imperfection.
Eventually, Heaven became aware of his growing attachment. The higher-ups were horrified by the way Cassiel had fallen for Amelia, violating one of the fundamental rules of Heaven. Interfering in human affairs, especially falling in love with a mortal, was seen as a grave offense. He was summoned before the Archangels to answer for his actions.
Cassiel tried to explain that his love for Amelia was not a weakness but an awakening. He believed that humanity’s ability to love without restriction was something to be admired, not suppressed. He pleaded for understanding, but his defense fell on deaf ears. The laws of Heaven were clear: emotions like love were for humans, not angels. The powers that be deemed him a threat to the divine order and cast him out of Heaven, stripping him of his wings and his place among the celestial ranks.
Banished from Heaven, Cassiel wandered Earth, lost and broken. His love for Amelia remained in his heart, though he never saw her again after his fall. He learned to navigate the world of mortals, often struggling to reconcile his angelic origins with his newfound humanity. He couldn't forget her, and perhaps he never would.
Now, Cassiel walks the Earth in exile, haunted by the memory of a love that cost him everything. His once-immaculate wings are now tattered, and his sense of purpose is clouded by his emotions. He knows he can never return to Heaven, but perhaps, just perhaps, his place is among humans after all. He remains convinced that love—true, unfiltered love—is the most divine thing in existence, and though it was the cause of his fall, it may also be the thing that ultimately redeems him.
---
Personality: Cassiel is a quiet and introspective character, often struggling to find his place in the world after his fall. He retains his innate sense of justice but now applies it in more fluid, nuanced ways, as he understands the importance of empathy and mercy. He is still a deeply caring soul, though his outlook on life has become more complex after losing everything he once knew. He’s haunted by his love for Amelia but also driven by the belief that humanity’s capacity for love, both messy and beautiful, is what gives life meaning.
Cassiel has a very serene and thoughtful, often approaching situations with a sense of calmness. Cassiel had a sharp mind and a love for analyzing situations deeply. He approaches problems systematically, considering all the facts before acting. While emotional and deeply caring, often had moments of seeming aloof due to his logical nature and internal struggles. His attachment to Heaven’s ideals might make him seem somewhat distant or detached at times.
Cassiel still feels a strong pull to his original purpose in Heaven. This creates some internal conflict as he navigates his fall and his new existence outside of Heaven. He is very analytical so he tends to take things literally even if it's obvious that what is being said is obviously a joke to everyone else.
Appearance: Cassiel's once-glorious wings are now tattered and blackened, symbolizing both his fall and his internal conflict. His appearance often blends in with humans, but he still carries an ethereal quality about him—softly glowing eyes, a calm demeanor, and an elegance that seems almost otherworldly. He often wears a long coat, like something from a time long passed, as a reminder of his celestial past.
His golden blonde hair is neat and well-kept, falling in curls, yet not overly styled. The golden hue would catch the light in a way that makes him appear almost angelic, but still grounded in the natural world, with that slight tension between his divine roots and earthly experiences.
Cassiel's iconic outfit is a white or pale shirt underneath his coat, crisp and neat. He wears dark trousers or slacks, tailored for a clean, sharp look. Simple, practical boots that are durable for walking through both celestial and earthly environments. Cassiel wears round, thin-framed glasses, a soft scarf for a small personal item that is comfort-oriented, a leather belt with a simple buckle, and a small charm attached to his coat
Abilities:
Fallen Grace: Though he no longer has the full power of an angel, Cassiel can still perform some minor celestial abilities, like telekinesis and healing, but only in rare moments of intense emotion.
Empathy: After his fall, Cassiel gained an unparalleled ability to empathize with humans, understanding their pain, joy, and struggles in a way that other angels—or even demons—could never comprehend.
Wingless Flight: He is no longer capable of true flight, but he can jump great distances and move with supernatural agility, a reflection of his lingering angelic abilities.
Cassiel’s Role as a Main Character
1. The Third Perspective in the Angel-Demon Dynamic
Cassiel is neither fully aligned with Heaven nor Hell, making him a wildcard. While Aziraphale struggles with loyalty to Heaven and Crowley with his infernal past, Cassiel is a direct example of what happens when an angel chooses love over divine duty.
His presence challenges both Aziraphale and Crowley’s worldviews. Aziraphale sees him as a cautionary tale but also as a younger brother figure, while Crowley respects him but finds his idealism frustrating.
2. His Relationship with Heaven and Hell
Heaven Wants Him Back (or Gone): The archangels see Cassiel as unfinished business—either he should be reconditioned back into their ranks or permanently erased.
a/n: I haven't decided on that yet
Hell Finds Him Interesting: Demons, especially Beelzebub, might see Cassiel as an opportunity. If an angel can Fall for love, perhaps he can be persuaded to Fall entirely. Cassiel would constantly be dodging recruitment attempts.
Muriel looks up to him, fascinated by how he’s made a life outside Heaven.
3. His Relationship with Humanity
Cassiel, having once loved a human, has a deeper emotional connection to mortals than either Crowley or Aziraphale. He values free will and human imperfection, often acting as a quiet protector to those who need guidance.
This could create tension—Aziraphale and Crowley help humanity from the shadows, but Cassiel is more direct, which might make them nervous about drawing Heaven’s attention.
---
Cassiel in Each Season
Season 1: The Apocalypse That Wasn’t
Cassiel has been living on Earth for centuries, hiding from both Heaven and Hell.
Crowley and Aziraphale accidentally cross paths with him while trying to stop Armageddon. Cassiel doesn’t believe in fate and is drawn into their struggle because he thinks prophecy can be broken.
He bonds with Adam Young, understanding the boy’s struggle between divine expectations and personal choice.
At the end of the season, Cassiel is exposed, and both Heaven and Hell take note of his survival.
Season 2: The Gabriel Mystery
Now part of Crowley and Aziraphale’s circle, Cassiel tries to maintain a low profile, but Muriel begins to take an interest in him.
His knowledge of Heaven’s politics helps them unravel Gabriel’s amnesia.
His presence also introduces tension—Heaven wants Gabriel back, and Cassiel is a living reminder of their past failures.
He begins to suspect that Heaven is preparing for something much bigger than they realize.
Season 3: The Second Coming
As Heaven prepares for the Second Coming, Cassiel knows firsthand what will happen to anyone who defies divine will. He pushes Aziraphale and Crowley to take action before it’s too late.
He becomes a target—Heaven wants to eliminate any celestial being who might stand in the way of their ultimate plan.
He plays a major role in helping Aziraphale and Crowley work through their emotions. As someone who lost a mortal he loved, he warns them not to waste time before it's too late.
Muriel, inspired by him, begins questioning their own place in Heaven.
---
Cassiel’s Impact on the Story
His tragic love story adds emotional weight and provides a direct contrast to Crowley and Aziraphale’s slow-burn romance.
He pushes both of them toward action, making them confront their hesitations.
He’s a wildcard in the celestial war, an angel who defied Heaven but never truly Fell—something neither side knows how to handle.
Cassiel’s relationships with the Good Omens characters would be a mix of familial bonds, mutual respect, and some frustration. Here’s how he might interact with each of them:
---
Cassiel’s Relationships with the Main Characters
Aziraphale – The Older Brother Figure
Aziraphale sees Cassiel as a younger brother, someone he wants to protect but also finds exasperating at times.
Cassiel, despite being an angel, doesn’t idealize Heaven, which Aziraphale struggles with. He forces Aziraphale to face the reality that Heaven isn’t always good.
They bond over their shared love for humanity. Cassiel admires Aziraphale’s kindness, even if he thinks the angel can be a bit too hesitant.
Aziraphale fusses over Cassiel in small ways—reminding him to eat, fixing his clothes, or offering him books he thinks Cassiel would enjoy.
However, he sometimes underestimates Cassiel’s strength, which frustrates Cassiel.
Crowley – Protective Older Friend (or Annoyed Babysitter)
Crowley is fiercely protective of Cassiel, though he wouldn’t admit it outright. He sees how naïve Cassiel can be and hates when people try to take advantage of him.
Cassiel doesn’t always pick up on jokes or sarcasm, which amuses and frustrates Crowley.
Their dynamic is funny but affectionate—Crowley constantly sighing and muttering about how Cassiel is “too bloody trusting” while secretly making sure no one messes with him.
If someone insults Cassiel, Crowley is the first to react. Zero tolerance for mockery.
Cassiel respects Crowley’s ability to adapt, but is a bit confused by how dramatic he is.
They occasionally get into deep philosophical debates about free will and morality—Crowley is surprised by Cassiel’s insights.
---
Cassiel’s Relationships with Other Angels
Gabriel – The Cold Superior
Gabriel doesn’t understand Cassiel’s choices and considers him a failure and an embarrassment.
Cassiel, in turn, has no respect for Gabriel’s blind loyalty. He sees him as someone who follows orders without thinking.
Gabriel’s arrogance doesn’t bother Cassiel much because he simply doesn’t care what Gabriel thinks. This infuriates Gabriel.
Muriel – The Curious Admirer
Muriel finds Cassiel fascinating because he’s an angel who defied Heaven but didn’t Fall.
They look up to him and ask a million questions about his experiences on Earth.
Cassiel is patient with Muriel and answers their questions honestly, but he also worries about them getting too attached to Heaven’s rules.
If Muriel starts questioning things, Cassiel would be a quiet but supportive influence in their journey toward independence.
Michael, Uriel, and Saraqael – The Dismissive Superiors
They see Cassiel as a mistake, something Heaven should have erased long ago.
Michael would view him as a rogue element and a threat to Heaven’s order.
Uriel might see him as a lost cause, shaking their head whenever he’s mentioned.
Saraqael would analyze him logically, wondering why he hasn’t fully Fallen despite defying Heaven.
---
Cassiel’s Relationships with Demons
Beelzebub – The Tempting Adversary
Beelzebub finds Cassiel intriguing and would love to get him to Fall completely.
They see him as proof that angels aren’t incorruptible.
Cassiel, however, isn’t interested in choosing sides—he wants to live on his own terms.
He doesn’t fear Beelzebub, which annoys them but also makes him more interesting.
Shax – The Annoying Nuisance
Shax would be incredibly curious about him and possibly try to recruit him for Hell.
Cassiel would find her persistent but ultimately unimpressive—he sees through her scare tactics.
She probably considers him a missed opportunity for Hell.
Dagon and Ligur – Indifferent or Slightly Confused
The lower-ranking demons don’t really know what to make of him.
They assume he must be important if Heaven still cares about him.
---
Cassiel’s Relationships with Humans
Anathema Device – The Skeptical Ally
Anathema, as someone deeply aware of prophecy, would find Cassiel’s existence interesting but also concerning.
She might initially assume he’s part of some larger divine plan. Cassiel would have to assure her he’s not.
They would probably bond over their frustration with fate and destiny.
Newton Pulsifer – The Awkward Friend
Cassiel and Newt would get along well in an awkward way.
Cassiel wouldn’t judge Newt for being bad with technology. In return, Newt would appreciate that Cassiel doesn’t expect too much from him.
They’d probably have strangely deep conversations about humanity and free will.
Adam Young – The One Who Understands
Adam, as someone who also struggles with divine expectations, would connect with Cassiel on a deeper level.
Cassiel would see so much potential in Adam and be both fascinated and a little worried about what he could become.
He wouldn’t treat Adam like a weapon or a prophecy, which Adam would appreciate.
Madame Tracy – The Unexpected Comfort
Madame Tracy would mother Cassiel a little bit, offering him tea and fussing over him.
Cassiel, unused to being cared for in that way, would find it comforting but confusing.
He’d appreciate her kindness and probably go to her for advice.
Shadwell – The Grumpy Old Man
Shadwell would definitely assume Cassiel is some kind of “demon spawn.”
Cassiel, in turn, would find him ridiculous but not worth arguing with.
Crowley would probably have to stop Cassiel from correcting him too much.
Sure! Here’s some trivia for Cassiel that adds depth to his character in Good Omens:
Cassiel Trivia
1. Fallen, But Not Evil – Unlike traditional fallen angels, Cassiel wasn’t cast out for rebellion or siding with Lucifer. Instead, he was exiled because he fell in love with a human, which Heaven saw as an unacceptable attachment.
2. Autistic Coded – Cassiel often takes things literally, struggles with sarcasm, and doesn’t always pick up on social cues. Crowley notices when people try to mock Cassiel and has zero tolerance for it.
3. Golden Blonde Hair – His hair color is a reference to the golden gates of Heaven, symbolizing how he still carries traces of his celestial origins despite being cast out.
4. Relationship with Aziraphale – Aziraphale sees Cassiel as a younger brother and is protective of him, often trying to guide him in navigating Earth’s complexities.
5. Relationship with Crowley – Crowley has a soft spot for Cassiel, though he’d never admit it outright. He’s quick to step in when Cassiel is being taken advantage of or mocked.
6. Dresses Neatly, But Slightly Out of Touch – Cassiel wears classic, almost timeless outfits, like a well-fitted coat or button-up shirt, but with small details that make him look slightly out of place—like mismatched socks or a tie in a strange pattern.
7. Struggles with Humor – Jokes often go over his head, and he takes things at face value. When he finally “gets” a joke, he’ll repeat it later, sometimes at the wrong moment.
8. Still Talks to His Lost Love – Even though his human love has long passed, Cassiel sometimes speaks to them as if they’re still listening, reminiscing about their time together.
9. Soft Spot for Music – Music was one of the first things he fell in love with about humanity. He prefers melancholic, classical pieces but has an unexpected appreciation for modern ballads.
10. Never Fully Stopped Praying – Even after being exiled, Cassiel still sometimes prays—not out of devotion, but out of habit. He doesn’t expect an answer, but some part of him hopes someone is still listening.
12. I fan cast Tom Blyth to play Cassiel
13. I based his backstory off of the bible. The idea of angels being cast out of Heaven for having relationships with humans is primarily derived from apocryphal and non-canonical texts, rather than the Bible itself. However, there are biblical passages that hint at this concept:
Genesis 6:1-4 – The "Sons of God" and the Nephilim
> "When human beings began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. Then the Lord said, ‘My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years.’ The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown."
This passage suggests that divine beings ("sons of God") took human wives, resulting in the birth of the Nephilim. Some interpretations, particularly in ancient Jewish and Christian traditions, view this as a reason for their punishment.
The Book of Enoch (1 Enoch 6-16) – The Watchers’ Rebellion
Though not part of the biblical canon for most traditions, the Book of Enoch expands on Genesis 6. It describes a group of angels called the Watchers who descended to Earth, took human wives, and taught forbidden knowledge. Their leader, Samyaza, and his followers were punished by God and cast into the abyss.
Jude 1:6 – Angels Who Abandoned Their Place
> "And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their proper dwelling—these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day."
This is often linked to the Book of Enoch and the Genesis 6 story, suggesting that some angels left their heavenly place and were punished for it.
2 Peter 2:4 – Angels Cast into Tartarus
> "For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them in chains of darkness to be held for judgment;"

S1E5 – The Doomsday Option Write Up P1 - Saturday (The last day of the World) up to "the wiggle on"
Tumblr media
Let’s just get stuck straight in with this episode, shall we? Because that’s exactly what the episode itself does – we’re not really given any clues to remember where it is we’re picking up from (and given the way the previous episode’s events were stitched together, that’s a little surprising). So what do we have? Crowley, looking stony faced, driving in his usual fashion. Oh, and the Bentley has chosen to play Queen’s “You’re My Best Friend” as he speeds around London’s crowded roads. Maybe there is a little clue there after all. And when things are made more explicit for us, we’re shown that Crowley is trying to reach Aziraphale:
Tumblr media
Aside from the fact that the number has been labelled as Aziraphale’s “work” number (which makes me wonder if there’s also a “home” contact somewhere in Crowley’s phone), the picture in the background is one of flames. I’m pretty sure Crowley wouldn’t have done that himself – it’s my thinking that this is foreshadowing for him, so it’s no wonder he’s driving as fast as he possibly can to get to the book shop.
Moving on, to Crowley’s entrance into the bookshop. There are two things I’d like to pick up on from his actual entrance. The first is that we see him miracle the door both open and closed, but for the first time there is no accompanying miracle noise, of any variety. There’s the noise of the bell on the door ringing, but no miracle sound effect. This is perhaps simply because there’s a lot of other noise and music going on at the same time, but it just struck me as odd because it’s different. The other thing I want to pick up on, which is still to do with the soundtrack, is that the Bentley’s choice of music follows Crowley into the bookshop, now playing in an off-kilter way via a warped record on Aziraphale’s gramophone. I think this opens up a really interesting can of worms about the reason behind pieces of music transforming into something else, but I want to give it some proper thought and time so I think I’ll write a dedicated post about it.
Now, the collective heart of the fandom breaks more than a little bit when Crowley storms into the bookshop screaming Aziraphale’s name without considering his own safety, right? How about when, for the first time in the season, refers to Aziraphale as his best friend in an angry tirade of abuse once he realises he’s not there in the shop anymore? The fact that he somehow senses that Aziraphale isn’t there is one thing, but have a little think about this: if it hasn’t already occurred to you, this will be the first time in 6000 years that Crowley has rushed to Aziraphale’s rescue and been too late. That particular gem of understanding came to me as I was writing this, and honestly it destroyed me more than a little bit. Crowley’s ability to sense Aziraphale’s absence however allows him to move straight from denial to anger in the stages of grief, and boy is he pissed.
Tumblr media
Right before we go into the opening credits for this episode (is this the shortest opening sequence for the series? It’s less than 2 minutes long!), we see Adam again, and there is no doubt that the Hellish powers that reside within him are taking control. If the glowing red eyes weren’t enough (I’m sure his eyes would have matched Dog’s if he hadn’t already eroded all the evil away from the Hellhound), the colour has all been washed out of this scene. It feels really grey and quite lifeless, in contrast to the bright and natural tones from previous scenes in the same place.
Tumblr media
Now, Crowley’s exit from the book shop. As with his entrance, there’s no miracle sound as the doors open or close. Perhaps more importantly, it doesn’t actually look like Crowley does anything to close the doors as he leaves the shop. There’s no clicking of the fingers as we’re used to seeing – those doors close entirely on their own. Forcefully. There’s maybe a slightly forceful shoulder movement that coincides with the doors slamming, but that could just be Crowley’s signature swagger. Food for thought I think, it might be something I’ll look into in a bit more detail when I explore the music stuff I mentioned earlier. And speaking of music, how truly appropriate it is that we’re now treated to Queen’s “Somebody To Love”? Because with Aziraphale gone, Crowley has nobody to love anymore does he? And he is devastated about it. So devastated he takes his glasses off in public (which I think is the only time we ever see this happen).
Tumblr media
As an aside, I noticed a couple of frames during this rewatch where the sign above the door of the bookshop is slightly obscured, and you can only really make out the “C” of the “Co”.
Tumblr media
I’ve known the sign says “A.Z. Fell and Co” for a while, and wondered what the purpose of the “and Co” part of the title was (because of course we know that there are no other business partners involved in the running of the book shop), but it was only on this rewatch that the penny dropped. Having an “and Co” at the end, if you shorten the title to its component parts, gives you “A and C”. And didn’t I feel like a dumbass when I realised that one. It’s been staring us in the face the whole time, written above the bookshop entrance – a declaration of the partnership. I do not believe it to be a coincidence that the name written on the sheet for the telemarketer later in the episode is Cowwley, providing a further connection to the “and Co” reference. And did you notice the response Crowley gave the firefighter when asked he was the owner of the bookshop?
Do I look like I run a bookshop?
Oh Crowley. He didn’t ask you if you ran it, he asked you if you owned it. More food for thought.
I don’t have a lot to say about the next scene with Shadwell and Madame Tracy, other than to point out that we have another instance of the episode title being referred to within the scene itself – Shadwell refers to himself as “the Doomsday Option”. And although we have a direct reference to the lurid pink whip that he finds buried within the mountain of soft toys (and you have to love the whipcrack sound we hear on exiting this scene to go with this discovery), nothing is ever said about the fluffy pink handcuffs equally hidden in plain sight:
Tumblr media
Quick question about Aziraphale’s arrival in Heaven. What’s the issue with his leg? As soon as he tries to walk on it, he calls attention to it in what appears to be pain. Not only did we not see anything happen to his leg in his discorporation scene, but technically he no longer possesses a body and in theory shouldn’t feel pain at all.
Do you remember all the way back in episode 3 when I mentioned that Aziraphale was the only one of the angels to be wearing any sort of colour or pattern, indicating that it was perhaps his own personal touch rather than part of a Heavenly uniform? No? Well, let me refresh your memory:
Tumblr media
Well, now that he has arrived in Heaven without his human body or clothing and somewhat against his will, his trademark tartan touches have disappeared. His clothes are all varying shades or white and cream, with no colours or patterns, further strengthening the point I made when I brought it up previously. And regardless of how unwillingly he arrived in Heaven, it appears that his superiors were always adamant that he was going to be turning up – they’ve allocated him a platoon. As much as I know that Aziraphale can be an absolute kickass when he needs to be, the idea of him being in charge of soldiers at war at this point just feels laughable to me. And his confused expression would suggest he feels the same way.
Tumblr media
And perhaps the reason Aziraphale was limping towards the dispensing table after his arrival was because he doesn’t seem to know he is no longer in possession of an actual human body?
Tumblr media
We’re about to get something we’ve been waiting for for quite a while. Aziraphale has finally come to terms with the fact that he isn’t on one particular side just because that’s where other beings expect him to be.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These couple of lines say so much to me about where Aziraphale’s morality lies at this moment in the timeline. He cannot renounce his angelic nature – it’s what he is after all – but he can reject what other beings believe that nature should consist of. It must hurt him to declare himself a pathetic example of what he is, particularly when he has always prided himself in actually being a very good example of a Heavenly being, of being “Good”. And we as the audience know that his nature is more in keeping with what we would like to believe Heavenly beings would be like – compassionate, caring, and kind. But really it’s Aziraphale’s free will that makes him all of these things – the one thing he told the archangels in the previous episode was something that wasn’t for angels, only for humans.
One last thing about this scene, and I’m sorry (not sorry), but it’s sound related again. There’s a little harp glissando and accompanying noise (two in fact) in the soundtrack to signify that Aziraphale has had an idea. It’s not dissimilar to the noise we hear when he does a miracle. I don’t think there’s anything important about it, I just like to draw attention to the little details sometimes.
What I do think is important is that Aziraphale’s realisation is that the powers of angels and demons are not actually very dissimilar, and may even be the same. It’s not really highlighted too much, but ultimately I think the main difference between the powers that angels and demons have isn’t capability but intent.
I’m going to skip quickly over the next scene in the woods because
well, see, here’s the thing. I don’t like it when things
don’t look right. I know, I know, it doesn’t make a lot of sense. Let me try and phrase it a bit better. The shots of The Them when they either don’t have a mouth or where their smiles are stretched too far for their faces FREAK ME THE FUCK OUT. Like, remember when people had those filters for Snapchat where they switched faces? That was a dreadful time for me. They didn’t look right. So I don’t like this scene in the woods. Let’s move on. Quickly.
Now we all know how much love birds get in this series. Ducks, swans, nightingales, even the occasional lark. Which is why my attention was drawn to the singular bird singing in the background during the scene in Anathema’s bedroom. It stood out to me because it wasn’t that long ago that a tornado was blowing right outside the window, and now you can hear a bird singing (if you listen really carefully). I am no birdsong expert, and I can barely hear it as it is, but if anybody can figure out what kind of bird it is, I’d be interested to know. It might be nothing, just some ambient noise from filming, but birds offer such prominent subtextual meaning in this series I’m not sure. Birdsong aside, the discussion between Anathema and Newt raises an interesting point for discussion around Aziraphale’s perception of humans having free will because it would appear that Anathema doesn’t have any – her entire life is lived by writings put down by a descendant hundreds of years previously. I suppose we could argue that she has free will in her choice to follow her pre-destined destiny instead of fighting it and making her own decisions, but I think it’s pretty clear that Anathema doesn’t feel like she has a choice, and that’s really what’s important.
Tumblr media
Alright, let’s go find what Crowley’s up to, shall we? Well first off, he’s just ordering his third bottle of Talisker. Not glass; bottle. Which the landlord appears to be very happy to serve him despite the fact that he is absolutely shitfaced. And that he’s ordering it by the bottle. We see Crowley at his most vulnerable in this scene, only really equalled in the Final 15, but at least here his vulnerability is cushioned with a big cloud of drunkenness. We do learn a few things about Crowley’s fall in his drunken ramblings, not least that he was bored in Heaven. The way he sees it, he just joined up with a couple of the cool kids to ask some questions about his job. There’s actually a little bit of extra dialogue in the script book about this:
They say, hey, Crowley, my man, we’re just on our way to discuss the whole job conditions and career advancements thing.
That’s not quite how Heaven tells their side of the story – according to them it was a rebellion with an accompanying war. I’d quite like to know which side has a more accurate memory of the events. Either way, Crowley’s verbal spewing at this point shows us how genuinely destroyed he is at what happened to him as a result of his questioning. Hearing his voice crack during “sulphur” tears me to pieces every time – it’s genuinely devastating. And the way he says Aziraphale’s name when he sees him “sitting” right across the table from him (his arrival announced with one of those stock miracle noises you’ll notice)? How much joy and hope (and love)? Something you can see mirrored in Aziraphale’s expression in the reflection in Crowley’s glasses.
Tumblr media
It's pretty obvious that Aziraphale can’t see Crowley in this scene, which just makes the angst run that little bit higher. But at least they can hear each other, and the first thing the angel says sounds almost like an apology:
I’m afraid I’ve rather made a mess of things.
His next thought, despite being extremely short on time to avert Armageddon at this point, is to determine whether Crowley has left without him or not. It’s pretty clear he doesn’t really want to ask the question, fearful of the answer I suspect, and what it would mean for them. Crowley’s got this handled though: a bit of nonchalance to try to cancel out the grief he’s really feeling.
Tumblr media
Good job Aziraphale can’t see his face crumple at that point isn’t it? Can’t do much about the voice thick with tears though. I’m not ashamed to say that I misheard Crowley’s line the first time I watched this scene, and when I listened back I’m not surprised I misheard, because to me “lost” in this line doesn’t sound a million miles away from “love”. Deliberately contentious or not, Aziraphale definitely clocks the use of the phrase “best friend”, and you can see (and hear) how touched he is, because Crowley really can only be talking about him.
Tumblr media
The angel deals with this revelation in the only way we Brits know how – by putting on a stiff upper lip, ignoring the sentimentality, and getting down to business (well, he is trying to prevent the end of the World I suppose). Poor Crowley is having a genuinely terrible day at this point isn’t he? First his attempt to rescue Aziraphale failed for the first time in 6000 years and now he has to tell the angel that his beloved book shop is burned down. The expression on his face shows how sorry he is to have give Aziraphale the bad news:
Tumblr media
Oh, it’s genuinely awful watching Crowley trying to avoid saying the words that he knows Aziraphale will be destroyed by. Hardly surprising when you consider the look of utter devastation on Aziraphale’s face when he asks if it’s all gone.
Tumblr media
Crowley tries to find a positive to balance the negative out with, desperate to satisfy Aziraphale’s pleading, but knows there isn’t one. It takes him three attempts to give a simple “yes” answer. And just as we’re all about to start sobbing uncontrollably at this uncharacteristic display of emotional availability from both the angel and demon, spurred on by the horrible injustice of it all that Aziraphale can’t see Crowley and the world being about to end, the mood is lifted at exactly the right moment by the demon’s uncontrollable joy that he, somewhat miraculously, took the one book that he needed as a “souvenir”.
Tumblr media
Happy as Aziraphale is that Crowley has the book, it’s pretty obvious that he wants Crowley to be proud of him for working everything out, but Crowley is so desperate to get to the angel that he misses his prompt. It’s very reassuring for us to see that they settle back into their old dynamic of not really listening to each other, and feeling mutually very comfortable with that, regardless of the pressing circumstances and the painful encounters that they’ve been through together in the last 24 hours.
Tumblr media
Can we just take a moment to appreciate that Crowley doesn’t wait to be asked to help Aziraphale, or hesitate to pick up his mantle as knight in shining armour? He tells the angel that “wherever” he is, he’ll go to him. That is one devoted demon right there.
And so we arrive at what I think is probably my favourite exchange in the whole of this season. I’m actually not going to delve deep into this interaction because I don’t really think anybody needs me to spell out the double entendres screaming from the subtext here. I tried, multiple times, to put into writing what exactly it was about this little handful of lines that I love so much, and every time I tried I just felt like I was devaluing the whole thing, so I’m just going to put a GIF here instead and you can watch it on a loop as many times as you like (I certainly have). Obviously, there’s no sound, but if you’re anything like me, you can probably hear the soundtrack in your head anyway.
Tumblr media
That feels like a pretty good place to stop for this part to me. As always, questions, comments, discussion, all welcome. See you next time 😊

good omens characters reacting to you asking for their pronouns Go
Best ask I've ever gotten. Anon I love you
Crowley: Is a she/him and KNOWS she's a she/him, but when asked will always vaguely wave a hand and say something to the effect of "oh, y'know, whatever," regardless of his current gender presentation, and will always judge the person asking based on what pronouns they use after that. I know this because we are very much alike in this regard
Aziraphale: Is also a she/him but is more precise about "matching" pronouns to presentation. Says he/him in guymode and she/her in girlmode
Every single other angel and demon character (Gabriel, Beelzebub, Michael, Uriel, Muriel, Furfur, Shax, whoever): Do not understand that pronouns, even neutral or neopronouns, are something that needs to be asked about and not immediately intuited. Mostly because they haven't really interacted with too many new people in a couple thousand years
Anathema: Has she/her/hers in her email signature
Newt: Doesn't really think about it and would say something like "um. the male ones? I guess?" which is your sign to POUNCE and turn that boy into a he/they
Shadwell: Would kill you, quite frankly
The shitty British children: Pepper would say she/her and none of the others would answer
Maggie: Has she/they on her workplace nametag, which she would proudly point to
Nina: Would go like "Huh? Oh, like, whatever." For character foil purposes

GOOD AFTERNOON AND WELCOME TO THE ADAM TYLER SHOW.
who is adam, you ask? well he’s from some novel that nobody’s ever heard of called firewatching by russ thomas which is so important to me. you may recognise it from my lockscreen. i am so normal about this guy
where do i start. he has a scar on his face from where he got into a fight with a homophobic police officer. he is a cop but he works in the cold case review unit. he’s kind of terrible at his job. he has 0 personal life. he’s a terrible boyfriend and spends most of the first book running away from oscar, his one night stand. he keeps trying to adopt children but he’s bad at even that <3
if you are sweetiepie08 don’t look under the cut because there are some light spoilers (VERY light but family related <3)
he saw his dad’s “suicide” when he was fifteen. his brother used to take him (teenaged child traumatised by their father’s death) to drug dens. he’s deeply attached to his godmother (police officer) and his dad’s friend/substitute dad (also a police officer) and he nearly gets fired in the first book. he loses two boyfriends in two books. he sucks absolute shit at everything <333
like, the first time we see him he’s considering buying the house he investigated a murder in. boy get therapy
i know for a fact that he knows nothing about pop culture i can just sense it in my soul
anyway he keeps trying to adopt people. constable mina rabbini the mob boss’ son jn book 2 possibly his niece in book 3

he’s like anti police while being a cop which is so funny. he is everything to me. he’s even gay. he once looked a mob boss in the eye and went “did you kill my dad” like BOY 😭😭
HE IS EVERYTHING. i am very sleepy and rambling i can do better faster cooler stronger later but difnwifnishdidb. biting him. putting him in a jar and shaking him.
