It's funny to see kids rediscover A Serbian movie.
'Irredeemable media' is such a funny concept to me because it's never used for stuff like Birth of a Nation or A Serbian Film. It's always The Owl House or My Hero Academia because these people only watch things for children and can't stand any conflict more complex than Super Mario Brothers.

As a Serbian, I couldn't ignore this. And the more I read about this, the more I want go give everyone history lessons (not that people would care or see the post, so i won't bother).
But I will say this: Mališa is a Serbian name. "Mali" means small, "ša" is a suffix that makes it sound cuter. So that pigeon should belong to a Serbian person.
Also here are some other posters I found + summary:

It's interesting how whoever made this used names of a real Serbian director, actors and actresses.
Tbh it wouldn't surprise me if this movie did exist but got banned because it showed what actually happened.
If someone wants to make this movie, please do it right.

this tiktok screenshot ruined my life i need to see the serbian pigeon movie so so badly but it doesn't exist it's so foul to make this bad of a point with something so cool and then take it away from me.

new Les Mis spinoff novel "Theodule Does Nothing" , just following around Marius' cousin while he buys some moustache wax, gets his uniform repaired, flirts in the least intrusive way possible , and has a nap
meanwhile 19C France happens in the background but he's not really involved in all that. There's a missing button on his uniform!

Heavy trigger warning - poll talks about ‘A Serbian Film’, a 2010 movie that got banned in several countries across the world due to the fact the movie depicts extremely graphic scenes of pornography, rape, violence; the film also revolves around ‘vile’ subjects such as pedophilia, (trigger warning: a graphic scene where an infant was raped, a parent/child incest scene where a father raped his own son who was around 6 years old in very graphic details), as well as necrophilia (trigger warning: a scene where a woman was decapitated while being raped in graphic details before her rapist continued having sexual intercourse with her beaten and mutilated corpse).
*This poll was submitted to us and we simply posted it so people could vote and discuss their opinions on the matter. If you’d like for us to ask the internet a question for you, feel free to drop the poll of your choice in our inbox and we’ll post them anonymously (for more info, please check our pinned post).

I love that Tumblr is getting into older movies lately, it's introduced me to both of these masterpieces. Goncharov was obviously a great find but I wish more people would give credit to Mališa by Boro Drašković (1987).
Honestly, I think this is my new favourite movie. I've never cried such bitter tears over a pidgeon before.
EVERYBODY GO WATCH MALIŠA

I hate horror movies that are just gorey for the sake of being gorey.
Like oOooh you're so dark and edgy, cool, but there is no meaning to your violence. It doesn't add depth to the plot (if the movie even bothered to establish a coherent one to begin with, which is rare in a lot of horror movies) it doesn't convey any sort of message and sometimes it doesn't even make sense for it to be there in terms of character motivation. Heck, sometimes the gore isn't even fun. Like, if you did it in a fun way I'd like it for shits and giggles (which is the case of Saw, for example) but most of the time the gore is just there for the sake of shock factor, and, ironically, despite the fact that this kind of content is considered "adult" it just comes off as extremely childish.
On a similar note, I also hate it when a movie's idea of "horror" is just cheap jumpscares. Horror in movies should be slow, claustrophobic, and all consuming, not a FNAF jumpscare (Keep in mind that I'm talking about movies here, I actually kinda like jumpscares in horror games lol)
Those two combined are the opposite of my bread and butter, they're my cardboard and broken glass.
Anyway, fuck "in your face" horror movies. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

Watching so much fucked up shit/movies from a young age has really made me want to include that kinda stuff in my own writing, but I don’t cause I feel gross but I’m honestly at my breaking point and I’m considering writing a new story with the mindset of “what can’t I do?”

Mališa (1987), directed by Boro Drašković, starring Bogdan Diklić, Milena Dravić, Predrag Manojlović, and Jelisaveta Sablić
The original poster for the Soviet-Russian release of the (censored) film in 1988. The bourgeois characters and the archduke are clearly highlighted as villains, the scene were Mališa steals the diamond earring is put into the centre of attention. The finely nuanced politics and ethics of the original film are thereby flattened in accordance with Soviet ideals.

Sorry but the black and white art film about the serbian government from the perspective of a pigeon can't be about the assassination of archduke franz ferdinand because that makes it significantly less about "the serbian government" and more about the prelude to WW1 which gives it Western Appeal and you're supposed to be watching something that alienates the average anglophone. you uncultured swine.
