The eerie calmness of the High Seraphim sent a chill down Lucid’s spine, the glow and vibrating tone of his halo increasing with intensity. If he could teleport and flee the dreamer would, but it would only make matters gravely worse.

“B…Because I gave it to him, your highness. I gave Lucifer a feather to summon me in a time of need when he informed me of the threat of Purgatory.” Squeezing his eyes shut as his shoulders tensed, Lucid began to spill his long held secret.

“I gave it to Lucifer because I trust him. I trust Lucifer with my life. We became close after I left Heaven to go meet him in-person. And then I didn’t stop. I kept going, I was learning so much from him an-and he took me under his wings as family.”

When Lucid opened his eyes, they spilled with starlight tears, pleading for Sera’s forgiveness and understanding. His hands clasped tightly together, fingers interlocked in prayer. “I broke your rules, Sera and I’m so! Sorry! B-but Lucifer is not the monster he has been made out to be. He must have a good reason for coming up here and we need to go to him and listen! If he summoned me it is to help and that is what I must do. We are all in danger, Sera! It’s not Heaven vs Hell, it’s our existence against our potential annihilation.”

Sera looked around seeing Emily wasn't here, she wanted to look for her. But right now Lucid had some explaining to do that was important, the others were banished to the white room for now.

"You do not? Then do please explain why he has a means to summon you, and why he would think it would do him any good doing so while he and his companions were here threatening Heaven, of all places." She said, an eerie calm as Sera came closer, towering over Lucid that was likely in deep trouble.

Ooohh Mother Mary and Joseph, that was a loaded topic. Lucid’s thumb twiddling slowed, worrying his bottom lips with his teeth. Hell was making demands? Demands of what? And what prompted it? In the end of course it “would not matter, because Hell is wrong always.”

“Weeeeellll, if they are making demands, that idea had to come from a source, yes? What if the source can be proven wrong or false? If they are not taking no for an answer, theeeen maybe we stop the, um…the thing that makes them believe that they are in the right for demands?”

Lucid had no idea just what source could be fueling it, or why. But hey, in his youth whenever he started acting up or questioning things too much? That’s what they did to him. “Cut the head off the snake”, so to speak.

“Hm? Oh! Yes, I was paying attention.” No, Lucid had not been paying attention at all to what was being said. The blue seraphim had been staring at the prisms of light that danced across the room as the sun filtered through the towering stained glass windows. Twiddling his thumbs, the young seraphim offered a sheepish grin. “What was the question again?” - @brokendreamscreation

Sera gave Lucid a stern look. It was like trying to teach a human child....

" As I was saying....Hell has been making demands as of late, and we must find a solution to it. Truth be told, they have no grounds to make demands but it's worrying that so many are gathering to speak against Heaven.

The AU that lives in my head rent free:

Hazbin Hotel College AU

Set in modern times where Angel Dust goes to college in a different state rather than joining the family business and Charlie and Vaggie are his guidance counselors, desperately trying to set him on the right path. Charlie becomes increasingly more exasperated every passing day.

Husk is the hot teacher that is always showing up to class hungover and isn't at all interested in his advances. They may or may not form a relationship outside of the classroom later on.

Alastor teaches an anthropology class about cannibalism throughout human history and/or witchcraft and always has the radio in his classroom set to an old timey station. Everyone is convinced that he is actually a cannibal.

Pen is Angel's roommate in the campus dorms. His major is something like Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. They butt heads a lot at first, but then slowly grow to be best buds.

Niffty and Cherri are also students, living in the girl's dorms and Niffty has a job on campus as a custodian (fancy word for janitor).

Emily, Adam, and Lute are a part of the fucking Campus Crusade and they have so much fucking beef that it's damn near an Arby's.™️ (Except Emily, she's an actual angel who wouldn't fight anyone and we love her for it.) Sera is the teacher in charge of the club.

Vox teaches a media studies class of some kind.

Angel of course ends up working at a strip club part time (owned by Valentino) to pay his way through college and he brags about being a stripper all the time, lol.

[Several days have passed since the incident on the beach day. All this time, Sera couldn't calm herself down, restlessly thinking about Emily's outburst, about Shamira and Ass' speeches, about how dirty her own hands turned out to be and about the frightened faces the winners and Ray made.]

[Oh, Ray… Sera felt sick. She regretted allowing herself to publicly lash out at the hellborn and scaring the little exorcist. And she knew she must apologize. To Ray.. and to Emily. But compared to the deep chasm between her and Emily, the small crack between her and Ray could still be mended. It seems to be something that could be mended. So she decided to at least try.]

[The day before her visit, Sera asked Lute to deliver Ray a note. She didn't want it to be sudden and unexpected, because that might scare the exorcist again. So now she'd been nervously walking near the medbay's door for ten minutes already, waiting for the time on the clock to finally correspond to what she had indicated in her note. 57.. 58.. 59.. 60. Sera flapped her wings anxiously and knocked on the door quickly.]

Ray anxiously fiddled with her skirt, tensing up as Sera knocked on the door. The medic glanced at a clock. Exactly on time. Seraphim were precise, she should've expected it.

Ray had hoped Sera wouldn't show up, but it seemed she did, and she couldn't get out of this conversation. She took a deep breath, getting up and opening the door.

The exorcist looked up at Sera, whom was obviously taller than her. She tried to steady her breathing, hoping to hide her anxiety. ... Greetings- She hesitated. Should she say Sera? -Your highness. Ray plastered a smile on her face, letting Sera enter the medbay.

Of course Sera would deflect the topic away to something else. She never listened to his pleas. The high seraphim never knew what it was like to be kept away from the majority of Heaven. To see the Winner’s from behind glass windows at a distance where they were so close and yet so far out of reach…

Wings slumping, Lucid expelled a heavy sigh before turning and sulking away. Guess he was off to find Miss Emily.

“Sera please! Just this once. I’ll wear a disguise if I must. A hood, a mask, a hat, anything!”

Lucid pleads to the head seraphim. His curious nature and hunger for more finally has him pressing to be able to walk among the Winners. Sure he’s asked in the past, but this time the younger seraphim is proving to be persistent. @brokendreamscreation

Sera sighed as she looked up from the paper work she was overseeing. Lucid was such a bright soul.....but also extremely young and naive even by Seraphim standards....

" No Lucid. We talked about this before. Why don't you go find Emily? She might need your help with a new project."
