Emily: So they were born from a seraphim and a fallen angel, wouldn’t that make them technically from Heaven?

Adam: Who cares if their parents use to be angels, Charlie was born from a fallen angel, she’s hellborn.

Emily: Yeah but Abbadona was never suppose to fall, it was an accident so they’re from an angel.

Adam: Still fell! They were born in hell so they are hell born it’s in the name!

Emily: So if an angel was born on Earth it would make them human?

Adam: No! That’s different!

Sera: Alright calm down, look Emily they can’t be Heavenborn because they don’t even have divine blood! Children does your mother bleed gold?

Aurora: Mama doesn’t bleed

Sera: You know what good enough, see-

Aria: But when she cut her snakes for a new haircut yeah they bleed gold

Looking up at the chains that bound his wrists together, Leon tugged and pulled, hearing someone groaning behind him as he did so. Leon looked over his shoulder as best as he could, catching a familiar glimpse of short brown hair as that equally familiar voice began talking to him.

“Hey. Stop it.” The mystery man from the burlap sack said to him, “Oye, Yanqui, got a name?”

Leon said nothing as he surveyed the set up for their situation, seeing a pulley system above them both, holding their chain. He glanced at the other man with a skeptical look.

“Leon.” Was the only thing he said as he got to work.

This was another test, naturally, focusing on the Yamato, but this time focusing on the strength it should provide him with. Getting his footing, Leon managed to get a firm grasp on his bindings, pulling and tugging at the chains while simultaneously moving away from the other man. The chain was over his shoulder, focusing on the one wall in front of him as he began pulling, unknowingly lifting Luis at the same time.

The other man raised a brow at him, “Quiet type, eh? I’m Luis Sera.” Luis introduced himself as he watched Leon, “And guess - you and me - picked the wrong spot to vacation, eh?”

Leon spotted some tools on the shelf, moving toward them while also yanking at Luis in the process, “Hey, stop it! You move, I move…and I’m beat up enough as it is!” Luis shouted in protest.

Leon ignored him, focusing on the rusted pulley once more before giving it another experimental tug, watching the mount shake a bit at the sudden shift. Channeling the Yamato again, Leon tugged, mentally cursing at the fact that Yamato didn’t seem to respond. Nero shifted, moving around as if rousing from sleep and wondering just what the hell Leon was doing.

Luis looked up as well, “I can see your thinking.” A wild smile crossed his lips, “Bet you’ve been in spots like this before.”

Chain over his shoulder again, Leon pulled using his own weight as hard as he could. He hadn’t exactly been in a spot like this before…well, if you counted that Opt in South America. That yeah, maybe.

“My guess…” Luis seemed hellbent on talking some more, trying to weasel information from Leon, “…you’re here looking for someone?”

Another tug. Another remark ignored. It was none of the man’s business.

“One more guess.” Luis said, “Maybe…a missing señorita?”

Su Strisciarossa Nadia Urbinati scrive: «Infine, ma questo tema richiederebbe una riflessione a parte, i territori e gli amministratori hanno dimostrato di contare e di rendere il Pd concretamente presente e capace di buon governo. Un dato importante, tenendo anche conto di come era nata la candidatura Schlein alla guida del Pd, con una lacerazione tra dentro e fuori del partito, tra partito degli amministratori e della leader. La lacerazione è stata superata e ricomposta. Nel senso che gli amministratori hanno dimostrato di essere una componente aggregativa sul territorio che Schlein ha intelligentemente valorizzato e sostenuto. Dopo il voto europeo, al Pd resta l’arduo compito di preparare con sistematica ragionevolezza un’alleanza contro la destra, con l’obiettivo di raddrizzare la politica del paese, riportando lo stato di diritto e la democrazia al centro».

La Urbinati scrive cose ragionevoli sul rapporto tra riformisti e radicali nelle file del Pd che potrebbe ridare capacità di movimento alla sinistra. Poi però concentra la sua attenzione non sulla sfida tra proposte liberalconservatrici e socialiste-liberal, ma sulla “difesa della democrazia”, parola d’ordine che in questo trentennio ha sempre determinato una guida politica dall’alto dell’Italia, cioè a una diminuzione della democrazia.

Su Startmag, a proposito di un’intervista corrierista al cardinal Camillo Ruini, Francesco Damato scrive: «Invitato dall’intervistatore a dire se davvero nell’estate del 1994, come raccontato in un libro edito dallo stesso Corriere della Sera, Scalfaro lo avesse invitato a cena con il cardinale Angelo Sodano e monsignor Jean-Louis Tauran per chiedere loro di essere “aiutato a far cadere il governo Berlusconi” raccogliendone un “silenzio imbarazzato”, Ruini ha testualmente risposto: “Effettivamente andò così. La nostra decisione di opporci a quella che ci appariva come una manovra – al di là della buona fede di Scalfaro – fu unanime”».

Un Quirinale che trama con i vescovi per far cadere un governo scelto degli elettori, sarebbe questo l’esempio di quella “difesa della democrazia” che invoca la Urbinati?

Dopo 21 anni di matrimonio, mia moglie mi prese da parte per dirmi qualcosa di importante. Voleva che passassi del tempo con un’altra donna, la portassi al ristorante e poi al cinema. Mia moglie mi disse: “Ti amo, ma so che anche quest’altra donna ti ama, e voglio che tu trascorra del tempo con lei”.

Quest’altra donna era mia madre. Viveva da sola da 19 anni, dopo la morte di mio padre e a causa del mio lavoro e dei miei tre figli, potevo farle visita solo occasionalmente.

Così quella sera stessa ho fatto quello che mia moglie mi aveva chiesto. Ho invitato mia madre al ristorante e poi al cinema.

“Cosa sta succedendo?”, mi chiese la mamma: “Sei sicuro che vada tutto bene?”

“Ho pensato che sarebbe stata una buona idea trascorrere del tempo con te”, ho risposto. “Solo io e te”.

Mia madre, al telefono, restò in silenzio un momento, poi finalmente disse: “Mi piacerebbe davvero tanto”.

Poi il venerdì seguente, dopo il lavoro, sono andato a prenderla a casa. Ero un po’ nervoso, era passato tanto tempo… Si era fatta i capelli e indossava lo stesso vestito del suo ultimo anniversario di matrimonio. Il suo sorriso, raggiante di felicità, la faceva sembrare un piccolo angelo.
