A few months ago I found this "birthday stones for all 366 days of the year" chart, and both Zoisite (Tanzanite) and Nephrite were December stones.
If I forgot someone else who has a December birthday it would totally suck and ruin this drawing, LOL, but for now Zoi is awkwardly third wheeling and it's funny.

My outrage given voice: The Shittenou were done so dirty!
It's very damn annoying to me and I hate it! Why the hell were the Shittenou not given a chance for a 'normal' life like Usagi wished for in the 90's anime; especially with the implication of the time of the first season repeating for the second and thus meant that they hadn't been nabbed for Beryl's/Metallia's purposes? Or even in the manga/reboot rather than kept as the stones they became after their deaths?
Like, what thoughts went into that? Why were the various relationships of the Shittenou changed so drastically, and not just between each other but their Prince and their Love Interests too? Especially when Mamo got a, technically, third chance to be with Usa after the first season's finale. The girls themselves have other love interests, I know, but you'd think that they'd at least be given the option to see if they were still compatible and part (hopefully) amicably if they weren't, rather than just have the view that they'll never have love or even a family. And, no, I don't count the "Parallel" world of the manga because it seems that they're right proper clones of their mothers rather than their own persons with thoughts, feelings and dreams like Chibi is. Yes, she's annoying and a frickin' Obnoxious Brat, but at least with that we know she's not Usa's clone just with pink hair and red eyes.
I remember watching the show growing up and never, not once, thinking they used to be love interests of the Senshi during the SilMil. Just that they were at the front of the invading army once that episode aired. Not to mention how my perceptions were fucked with beforehand because two of the four were in a relationship with each other (after one of them had been 'gender-bent'. Just...why?!) and a third was romancing a side character that had disappeared after the one episode she was in during the third season. Hell, the only reason I found out Sen/Shi was a Thing was due to the internet a while after watching the 'last' (for the North America viewing audience) episode of the fourth season. That pissed me right the fuck off.
I believe that shouldn't have happened. They could've done so much foreshadowing, maybe even a bit of character development, about the tragedy that would've been the Shittenou being killed off as the season went on once the SilMil's Last Day came about.
Like, think about it.
With Jad's constant disguises and schemes, it could've been that Rei, being a trained Miko, always seemed to find and flirt with him, because he was cute no matter his disguises, and then get mad about it because why?! is it always him?! she does that with?! The fuck?! And Jad's just like, 'How the hell does she keep doing this?!' before putting together that she must be an informer to the Senshi with the way they always show up when she does so he tries to keep her distracted in one form or another so his youma can do its job because she's too passionate and fiery to want to hurt or drain despite getting in his way so much. Beryl actually kills him off after his showdown with the Senshi, not listening when he says how he knows who they are, instead of being iced for his constant failures. (I never did get why he was singled out like that.)
With Neph's civilian identity of Sanjoin Masato, instead of Naru being the 'victim' of his 'manipulations', Makoto could've been brought in earlier and get to experience being treated like the young woman she is despite how other guys were put off by her strength and stature and just discovered she could transform just as or after he died. He still dies to Zoi's schemes but it's because, due to being around his Lady so much more than Jad was with Rei, he's starting to question what once he hadn't, especially if some dormant memories he hadn't known about break loose from their shadowy bonds, and so Beryl made out that he was defecting or losing sight of their goals so she didn't have to get her hands dirty.
With Zoi, 'cause I found it real annoying that only he could extract the Nijizuishou when the Moon Wand could also track them down but not get them out, Ami could've used her palmtop to scan whatever residue might've been left on the Wand, to also help look for the Carriers as Zoi did the same with his own tracking crystal. It could go that, because she does take her duties as a Senshi seriously and she's not all about school/studying despite her grades and work ethic and she's gonna prove it, she might get in trouble for 'stalking' while Zoi's just wondering what this cute but annoying brat is doing following him where she could get hurt - the Great Demon he awoke might very well kill her! - when in all reality she's trying to get close to the Carrier but this jerk-wad with the beautiful blond waves, because those are not curls as far as I'm concerned, in a ponytail keeps getting in her way! Shenanigans are had where they try to outsmart, trick or distract each other to get to the Nijizuishou first without outing themselves or her comrades. Zoi's killed by Beryl because when Ren's revealed and Zoi takes that hit with the Ginzuishou it purified him and, like Mamo is later in the season, left weakened and considered 'delirious' by Beryl who doesn't care she'll lose another of 'her' Generals because it means she'll have enough energy to get Dymi onside and keep Kunz loyal to her and scared of the Moon Witch's power.
With Kunz, well... we all kinda-sorta saw how many times Minako seemed to fall into his traps meant to nab Usa, not to mention their own history while she was in London. And he's killed as in canon because he would not be tricked by the images and lies the Witches from the Sky tried to force into his head, an unintended side-effect of how the SilMil's Last Day was shown, especially regarding her (Venus), into betraying his Liege; completely unknowing that he, technically, already has!

The Witching Hour
Liminal Spaces, moments in time, beautiful and forlorn and uncanny.
R/J, PG13-ish?
The parking lot is lit by a single pole light that flickers erratically, and the neon sign reading "Vacancy" has both A's out. Jace usually isn't one for such Uncanny Valley trappings, but beggars can't be choosers at midnight and his low fuel light came on twenty miles ago.
It's a small motel in the middle of a small town in the middle of a lonely stretch of freeway in the middle of nowhere-- the type that some poor idiot in a horror movie would probably get gruesomely murdered in, but then again, he was hardly a nubile ingenue or a dumbass jock. He'd certainly stayed in worse places during a long stint as a UC in LA, and he thinks he'd take the tumbleweeds and the flickering neon over the seedy underbelly of the City of Fallen Angels anytime. He doesn't have much on him to attract the bad sort of attention anyway-- a lone man in worn jeans and a leather jacket that had seen better days, bearing an old duffel bag and dark gold five-o'-clock shadow, a few battered twenties in his wallet and an ankle holster that doesn't show as he walks.
The lobby is small, neat as a pin and almost inhumanly bright in the glare of harsh fluorescents as he comes in. A pair of tired-looking armchairs and a loveseat in faded red chenille, gunmetal-grey industrial carpeting. The front desk is shielded by a panel of reinforced glass and features a computer that looks positively ancient, but he does a double-take when he comes up to the counter. As a rule, night auditors at places of lodging are a bit unsociable, slightly Eldritch, with the uncanny factor increasing proportionate to the lateness of the hour and the remoteness and shabbiness of the location, and this specimen certainly had nothing ordinary about her, either. She looks up as he raises a hand to ring the service bell, holds his gaze in an unblinking violet stare for a moment too long, but it's her beauty that stops him in his tracks.
Fifteen years in Los Angeles has Jace all but immune to the countless number of meaningless beautiful faces all around him. A starlet's lush-lipped smile looks a lot less inviting two hours later in a rictus of drug-induced convulsions. Diamonds and bullets, champagne and smog, sunsets and blood-soaked asphalt. This woman could be twenty or a hundred, with an ageless face that he imagined angels would have if they were real-- the type of angels that smote a sinner with swords and fire, not the type that graced Hallmark cards and Victoria's Secret catalogues. Fathomless violet eyes, blood-red lips and a curtain of inky hair. "It's pretty late to be traveling, isn't it?"
"Absolutely, and I'm tired the hell out. Do you have a room for the night, and maybe a gas station close to here that opens sometime tomorrow morning, sweetheart?"
She cocks her head to the side rather like a bird might as it stares at a new street sign. "This isn't where you're supposed to be right now, but I won't begrudge you a night's rest and shelter," she says at length, almost to herself. She slides a tattered registration binder and an honest-to-God fountain pen across the desk, under the panel of glass, and her voice takes on a slightly brisker tone. "Name and address, please. That will be fifty dollars. Room 12, which will be six doors down, on the right. We don't have breakfast, but there's a cafe down the road next to the gas station, about five miles out. Check out is at ten."
"Thanks, love." His fingers brush hers for the briefest of moments as he takes the keys-- old fashioned metal ones, not plastic cards, and he would have expected her hands to be ghostly-cold. But they're warm and soft, like the glow of hearth fire behind a screen. He almost wants to give them a squeeze, but that would be creepy. He signs "Jacen Reinhardt" and puts down the address of an apartment that he'd not set foot in for the last two years, and slides three twenties across the table. "Keep the change. I'd've driven on, you know, but I can barely keep my eyes open, and I'm almost out of gas. You probably saved my life." He tacks that last part on with a wink that would have melted a model or a gun moll alike, but she simply continues to look at him with something that looks weirdly like silent absolution in those dark, mysterious eyes.
"I wish that were true," she murmurs, tipping her face downwards towards the registration binder as she puts it back in its drawer. "Rest well. You're safe here."
"I'll catch you tomorrow morning before you're off, doll. Sweet dreams."
He finds Room 12 without much difficulty, unlocks it with those old-fashioned keys. It's just as tidy as the lobby under the glow of the incandescent table lamp, with a single bed and heavy burgundy drapes over its windows, but the shower runs hot and the pillows are soft under his weary head. Jace is asleep almost as soon as he lies down, before he could even have taken any of the types of precautions he might have been accustomed to in the big city, but she's a woman of her word and he sleeps soundly and well. He dreams in flashes and fits that night, fleeting images that flit across his subconscious-- snow-white lilies, stark black ravens, fire that arrows across an eerie silver sky, the clash of swords and the crush of lovers' lips-- but nonetheless, the sun is high in the sky when he wakes from the best sleep that he's had in a long time.
One look on the old-fashioned analog alarm clock on the nightstand tells him that he has all of nineteen minutes to check out, and so Jace hurries into the lobby, raking one hand through his tousled blond hair, keys in hand, duffel bag slung over one shoulder, eyes peeled for that oil-slick of black hair. In daylight, it's a much-different place-- not cheery, perhaps, but pleasant. Almost welcoming. Ordinary. Manning the front desk is a perky redhead who cheerfully points him towards the direction of the gas station as she accepts the keys and wishes him safe travels.
"Thanks... Molly, is it?" He reads the name on the gilt nametag pinned on her blouse, and racks his brain for whether the woman last night had worn one. "This might be an odd question, but... who was here last night? The overnight lady."
"Oh, I don't know any of the others," Molly replies, furrowing her brow in a bewildered way. "I usually just miss her. I've just started here, you see, for a summer job. But I know she's been here for a long time. She's never here after daybreak. I work nine to five."
That is, of course, supremely unhelpful, but it's not something that he can fault her for. Jace coaxes his car into life and drives off into the sunshine, towards the very ordinary gas station and very ordinary cafe that likely serves very ordinary coffee and bacon and eggs that would fuel him until his next destination, and wonders if he's lost a night or a small eternity of his life that he just won't ever quite understand.
Strange things always happen during the witching hour, that's a given. But there's never been cause to wonder, before this, of lost time and liminal spaces that have never been his before, beautiful and forlorn and uncanny, of ghosts and angels when neither of those things were real.
(The other three will be put up on AO3 when I can be arsed to write them)

Just some Jupiter/Nephrite headcanons in an AU that I may one day write. These mix the manga and the 90s anime.
In their past lives, their relationship started as a random hookup. But they had so much fun that they kept going back to each other for more.
Okay so, Nephrite always reminded me of a guy that would be in an 80s hair metal band so I tend to base his personality on that. If the Shitennou were to form a rock band he'd play lead guitar.
He is the most irresponsible of the Shitennou. He totally helped Prince Endymion sneak out to meet his princess.
In the present after being freed from Beryl, he immediately got a tattoo sleeve, a motor cycle and picked up a girl.
That girl was Makoto Kino. He finds her before Luna. She offers him a cigarette when she sees the bike and informs him that she was kicked out of her school for fighting. He's in love. The two fall in love before they realize they were lovers in a past life.
Its not long before he moves in with her.
While he seems irresponsible, he's actually very smart and will go on to get a PhD in astrophysics. The man always loved the stars. The other Shitennou are stunned.
Makoto runs her flower and cake shop and Nephrite works at a University.
Other than Makoto, the guardian Nephrite gets along best with is Ami. He sees her as a shy girl and runs to her aid if he sees her getting flustered. He also gets along well with Minako.
The Shitennou Makoto gets along best with besides Nephrite is Zoisite because they both share love for flowers.
They will have four kids, each named after Jupiter's four largest moons.
They will also adopt Sailor Juno in the future so that she is raised by parents.
They are very good parents, very involved in their kids lives. Makoto makes the bests food and snacks for the kids and Nephrite is the cool dad.

Day 7: Umbrella
Aaaaahhh I'm late!!!
I tried to participate in but even with the 2 months ahead warning, what my actual planned creation wasn't done yet. I couldn't even finish this one in time even though it's relatively simple...
Usa and Nephrite are the pranksters
Mamo and Mako probably tried to stop them but failed

Story Idea: Sailor Moon but Batman style!
Basically, it's Sailor Moon but since there isn't any magic (at least maybe not for her and/or the Senshi/TK {yet? It would depend on how you want to take it}) she's more like Batman: a regular person but she's not stinking rich because her parents were killed and she and her brother inherited their fortune. No, she's just a regular mid-20's wig-maker by day (she uses said wigs for her various investigation disguises since there's no Luna Pen, and uses a very specific one when out at night, and for them to work her actual hair is pretty friggin' short to use them efficiently) and the Masked Sailor Suited Vigilante Sailor Moon by night.
Now for this to work, I'm thinking that Sailor Moon is definitely the first of the Senshi to become active, not Venus, because it is through Moon that the girls are 'endorsed' so to speak to become Senshi. And it's all due to part of this AU!Usa's backstory.
Long story short (feel free to contact me for any and/or all details if you're interested; though be warned I might not have details for everything) she's in possession of limited bolts of stretchy, almost-like-magic-but-made-with-science Kevlar-like fabric, various 'mad scientist-like' gadgets and a smart talking black cat who was unethically scientifically bred that way. The cat she kept after escaping the scary not quite self-destructing lair of the crazy people who'd kidnapped her when she was 9 after three months in their 'care', and found the former two at the site of said destroyed secret lair that she found again, by chance, in her grief of losing her childhood friend turned crush and his family to a crash on his returning-from-overseas plane turned hostage situation and promptly squirreled them away after deciding it was fate she found it all and formed the inklings of a goal/plan at 14. It's when she's in her mid-20's that she feels ready for her goal/plan to come into fruition. The Masked Sailor Suited Vigilante Sailor Moon makes her debut when the Osa-P jewellery store undergoes a robbery that turns into a hostage situation.
Thing is, said childhood friend turned crush hadn't died from the plane crash. He was the only survivor but suffered amnesia, losing everything from before he woke up. The redhead who'd become infatuated (IYKYK) with him as he recovered in the infirmary of her mother Metallia's off-the-grid community cult gave him his 'life's story' as her abandoned-as-a-baby orphan lover Endymion, who was a year older (17) than he actually was (16), and that he was apprenticed to the cult's (not that she called it that) medical doctor co-leader and 'psychiatrist' Wiseman. Because he doesn't know any better, and wanting some form of stability after his traumatic experience, he doesn't question anything. It's when he's in his late 20's, unofficially married with a 4yo redheaded, blue-eyed daughter (who's named Usagi since he was partial to the name; it resonates with him for some reason) from said 'wife', and casing a certain jewellery store in the shadows as TK as one of his 'jobs' to help bring money to his community that he sees the princess-angel he's been dreaming of since he was '17'.
One by one, new 'Senshi' join Moon for various reasons but are united by a common cause under their leader. Venus is first because the police woman Minako Aino discovered SM's identity through her own smart, talking white cat (of a non-related, older litter of the same experiments, and thus further developed in turn, that created Luna and the reason Usa was able to escape her kidnappers as a child, though she didn't know that at the time) who'd followed SM and reported back to her but didn't want to turn her in because she admires SM's efforts and wants to help so is willing to risk her career by proposing that they be one another's body double as and when needed at night and have separate patrol routes as their separate identities (M and V) when not.
It is through time (roughly two-three years) and various shenanigans and dangerous situations that SM and TK get closer, eventually stopping their game of flirty cat-and-mouse and actually bonding and getting to know one another. It is only after another life-or-death situation (TK would've frickin' died that time if not for Moon having followed him to his safe-house) that the tension between the two hits a peak after he's halfway through his convalescence and they sleep together and the next morning, after a restless night of tossing and turning as his true memories came back to him every time he awoke before his still-need-healing-exhaustion sent him to sleep again, is when TK reveals a name he'd wanted to use for the girl he'd wanted to ask to be his after he returned from that fateful trip.
Do you like? I would love if someone were able to take my idea and run with it. All I ask is that credit is given due and you let me know the title and site you've posted on so that I may read it. And as said, if you need details of what I've thought up for such an AU, if only for your own inspiration, I'm willing to send my notes to you; so long as you know that if others also ask I'm gonna give it to them too, just to see how different people would make this idea their own.
And if, in the end, I'm late to someone (or more than one) already having made some form of Batman style!SM AU, then please, please, please hit me up and tell me what it's called and where I can find it!! Thank you.

Terminal
Liminal spaces Pt 4, M/K, PG13-ish? The end...?!
That the flight is re-routed to Detroit for the weather is unwelcome news, but not a complete surprise. Flying anywhere in the northern United States in January meant rolling the dice with Mother Nature, and Kane Grantham can do little but grumble as he disembarks with the rest of the passengers into the deserted terminal at DTW at the indecent hour of 10:29PM. To add insult to injury, the airport is perforce their port of entry into the country on the flight from Heathrow, and not only does the airline not provide hotel and transportation reimbursement for the weather-induced flight delay, but he and everyone else has to drag themselves through Customs and Border Protection at roughly an hour to midnight.
Naturally, everyone is testy and tired, which just makes the process drag on even longer. By the time Kane is declared not-a-terrorist and his personal effects are returned to him, it is twenty minutes to midnight and outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, the snow is falling steadily. Kane opens up the Uber app, and even with the unholy late-night premiums, there are no drivers available. A search for hotels is equally unpromising. Jet-lagged, hungry and wearing a non-blizzard-grade peacoat over his suit and wingtips, he sinks down into one of the seats in the terminal with a sigh.
"Well, this sucks, doesn't it? And I was so hoping to get home and indulge in a bubble bath with a glass of wine."
The melodious female voice sounds next to him, the tones friendly and the accent vaguely American. He glances over to see the trim blonde figure of a young woman wearing the navy blue skirt suit of a flight attendant complete with a jaunty red ascot that precisely matches the ribbon in her hair. She's seated one chair away from him, the only other person in the terminal, and gives him a wry yet cheerful sort of grin. "Oh well. It is what it is, hmm?"
That's an Americanism that he doesn't quite understand, so he settles for a shrug and a nod. "You're stranded too, I take it?"
"Honey, we're all stranded until tomorrow, but might as well make the best of it." She stretches out a pair of very slim, very nice legs (not that he's paying them any mind) and kicks off her stiletto heels with a sort of forwardness that he's not accustomed to, but then again, who the deuce could blame her, at this hour? Certainly, he's dying to get comfortable himself, and he's not the one freezing his arse off in a knee-length skirt. That done, she rifles in her bag, and pulls out several packets of those ubiquitous airplane biscuits, offers him one. "Hungry?"
"I am, rather. Thank you, miss."
"You'd think I'd get tired of Biscoff, but it never fails in a pinch." Somewhere, somehow, she also procures two mini bottles of water, a few slightly-squashed granola bars.
The two of them eat an objectively unappetizing dinner at the hour of midnight in the cotton-wrapped silence of that snowy airport terminal, and yet it's satisfying in a way that Kane doesn't quite understand. She's rather beautiful, despite-- or perhaps of-- the lateness of the hour. The sort of woman that one took to the ballet and bought flowers for, back home. But he's never been a ladies' man even in broad daylight, in a raucous pub. Certainly not in the middle of nowhere, in a town that both of them had no business in, on a snowy night.
"Thanks for the bite to eat," he finally says, because it felt necessary to acknowledge her-- acknowledge SOMETHING. "I do hope you get home soon."
"We'll all be on our way in the morning, won't we?" She tilts her head to the side, gives him a smile with something strangely wistful in it. "You'd best get some rest, sweetie. You're stuck here with me tonight."
Kane is reasonably certain that he'd never been called 'sweetie' ever before, not even once, in his whole life. Certainly not by a pretty blonde with her bare feet propped up on top of her suitcase, assiduously unpinning her cornsilk hair in a way that is far more distracting than it was ever meant to be. At this distance, it smells faintly like the types of windblown, summery wildflowers that grow far away from London's prim streets. Had he been smoother, more clever with his words, he might have come up with something flirtatious to say in response. But it's so quiet, and the terminal is rather like a different, tiny world where no one else existed and time meant very little, and he feels his eyelids grow heavy as he slouches down in his chair. The last thing he recalls himself saying, as he settles into the folds of his coat, is a mumbled, "I don't mind."
It's the sound of luggage wheels on the buffed floors that snaps him awake, and when he opens his eyes, the sun has come up. The terminal, though still empty, is showing signs of returning to life as a nattily-dressed gate agent takes his spot at the podium. Kane's suitcase and messenger bag are still right next to him, precisely where he'd left them.
Tucked securely around his shoulders, slightly scratchy but warm and fragrant with a delicate whiff of wildflowers, is an airline issue blanket, navy blue, the colour of her skirt suit. The girl herself is nowhere to be seen, and he wonders if she's on her way home already, to that bubble bath and glass of wine. He wonders where 'home' is, for her.
He wonders, for the first time in his staid and orderly life, if he's going mad and imagined the episode last night, then dismisses that as a laughable notion. Certainly the world wasn't so cruel, so terminally hopeless, that a woman so lovely only appeared in one's dreams.

Some Venus/Kunzite headcanons for an AU that I may one day write. These will be a mix of manga and 90s anime.
In their past lives the relationship started initially because they were always seeing each other. They were both the leaders of their respective groups and so they were with Serenity and Endymion a lot. While the prince and princess were doing their thing these two were talking a lot and a romance developed between the two.
They were the first of the Senshi/Shitennou romances to happen in their past lives.
Princess Serenity was a big fangirl of them. So much that she'd get heart eyes for any mundane interaction between the two.
Serenity knew they were in love before they were official and planned a surprise double date with them and her and Endymion. Venus and Kunzite were shocked but went with it.
Kunzite is bisexual. If he wasn't already in a relationship with Venus he'd be in one with Zoisite.
Kunzite is a very loyal person. So much that it was very hard to break the spell Beryl had on him. He kept refusing because his whole purpose was to serve the queen. It was made even harder when Beryl had Mamoru under her spell because Kunzite started feeling loyalty to him. Venus had to go all out in a fight, restrain him, and then bring the other three Shitennou in and use the moon crystal to break his connection to Beryl.
He took being under Beryl's spell the hardest and insisted that he wasn't worthy to serve Endymion. Despite Endymion telling him it wasn't his fault.
He is Mamoru's best friend in the present.
Minako and Kunzite have a lot of double dates with Usagi and Mamour, triple when Luna and Artemis tag along.
That said, he takes his role as a Shitennou to almost comical levels. Endymion has had to tell him several times that no he doesn't need someone to stand guard outside his bedroom while he sleeps, or is in the grocery store or outside his classroom.
Because of this Makoto and Nephrite have pulled multiple pranks on him. Zoisite joined in on a few. Minako was not impressed and scolded them. Jadeite also scolded them.
He lives with Mamoru, (and Zoisite.)
Kunzite is extremely powerful and makes it all seem effortless.
Chibi Usa sees him as her uncle and she has him wrapped around her finger. He is also over protective of her.
Besides Minako, the senshi he gets along best with is Ami. He always asks for her input on new enemies.
Besides Kunzite, the Shitennou Minako gets along best with is Nephrite, despite Nephrite's pranks on Kunzite.
He accidentally becomes a model shortly after Minako becomes and idol and they are a celebrity couple.
Artemis sometimes feels like he's the only sane person when he's around those two.

Title: bioluminescence (AO3)
Summary: The village held a festival when Jadeite was chosen to serve Prince Endymion. Very few were even chosen for this intimate duty to the royal family, and that a young boy from their small village would soon be the prince’s confidant reflected well upon their community. They hung lanterns along the street, gathering people from even nearby villages, who hoped to see the boy who would serve as Jadeite.
Jadeite himself still didn’t understand what was happening. Since the day he had stumbled across the sliver of jadeite at the riverbank while playing with his sisters, no one had treated him the same. His sisters whispered to themselves. His father assured him that his role as Jadeite would give him opportunities beyond his imagination. His mother barely looked at him, save to offer some food. No one used his name anymore.//or how the Four Heavenly Kings came to betray Endymion
