ASDIB!Helly/Harley Robinson headcanons! (TW: bullying)

(and also, ASDIBAU refers to the AU as a whole, and ASDIB refers to the in-universe show)

•A rare case of my AU Helly NOT having—to some extent—an ability to see things he shouldn't like the 4th wall. Works for me as it would make the narrative shenanigans of ASDIB even worse and more of a headache if he did (it already was one with Modfall, as the Narrator there is his own character). Also a rare case of a straight Helly, although his general awkwardness over his one-sided flirt schemes (one-sided as in he doesn't take reciprocation well) and gender expression shows.

•I forgot to mention this but Mr. Robinson is in his late-30s at the 'main' events of ASDIBAU, while Harley is in his early teens. That means he lost his parents way too early in his life 🥲 (not the worst Helly backstory tho. The MD one had [REDACTED] his parents).

And said loss happened at the same time Robinson got the Trauma™.

But due to the connected and misfortunate series of events, Harley and Robinson got along like bread and butter, although not as stable without them.

•Local helicopter enthusiasist and loves the feeling of the wind going against his body! He's a natural adventurer and gets himself into trouble (nature or social). However, he is not yet used to patching himself up because he was used with his late parents doing it for little young him.

•His favorite cereal is Fruit Loops while he surprisingly likes a little bit of matcha. The matcha part comes from when his late mother lets him have a taste of "adult ice cream".

•Regular customer of the local toy store, always getting things from it and either tries to tinker with the toys he bought or just play with it as it is. Also the local sunshine boy and the light in Robinson's life (note the fact that Robinson is just Poli + Unsolved Depression, and it will get worse), making modified vehicles that can play songs.

•Doesn't go to school anymore because he is the one bullies always pick on. From his wardrobe choices, hair length, and even just his general personality, Harley ended up feeling despised amongst his peers, and is going thru an oddly optimistic 'emo' phase that goes "no one understands me and if they do meet me near the trees! :)"

In short, he has Trust Issues™, something surprisingly many Hellys lack.

•He doesn't like Narrator at first, especially as the later came off as controlling to his trapped uncle. But whenever he is both resting from collecting things around the attic and at the same time the tapes have its intermissions (which is night for Broomstown as the show takes place at daytime), Harley started to 'talk' (via poor Morse) to Narrator. Getting under the latter's persona was surprisingly an achievement, and due to the things Harley finds in the attic and what Narrator tells him about himself, Harley is a bit aware that:

Narrator lost someone thru unfair fates and tragedies, using the semi-digital microworld of ASDIB as an escape, the only thing he knew of the real world,

And...there is certainly a connection between his late mother's letters, Robinson's nightmares, and the way Narrator presents his semihuman form to Robinson.

"Were you just a living program, Narrator?"

"Of course, my little lily. I'm...part of a set of experiments my company did where instead of hiring a voice actor...they made me alive instead."

"That was oddly specific. But why are you so open about this, 'Narra—'"

Well, it's 'unknown' in the sense that this man doesn't seemed to be credited in any credits, but it made the brunette curious regarding that one redacted area in the credits where any sorts of a VA for the Narrator stood.

What's worse is that this...man...

Resembles his semi human form.

Meanwhile, another person deep inside Broomstown lifted up her pen. This might be too early for her to invoke him to be more open to not just the kid of the man he trapped inside, but if she is too slow with this...

Nobody will win this game.

Nobody will be saved, physically or emotionally.

The story must go on, even if it repeats over and over.

I don't think so, at least I can't. I would rather wish this world to end already. I'm too tired, I'm too tired. I just want it to end already. I'm too tired seeing this echo of a show struggling to exist. Why can't I euthanize it with words of farewell and ending the end? Is there really a planned end for this show? Have I been running around in circles?

Am I a fool for thinking that my suffering is undeserving? I didn't want to be in this role, I never wanted to. But the power of actions overpower the power of words, and something is wrong about each and every action he takes, we take, everyone takes.

If only I let go all those years ago, then I wouldn't have to bear seeing the echo if his face again...but a part of me longed to be with him again...

Okay...so i was going to make the clay fic i was talking about earlier,but then i realized that the au wasn’t really fleshed out,so im explaining the VK lore,now this is probably gonna be a really long post,but i havent written it yet.

To explain the von karma and edgeworth lore we need to dive into how exactly the type of cryptid the VK’s are and how they work which are of course:ghost.

Now let me explain some things.

Ghost are different than other cryptids in one,single,aspect:they dont have human forms.

Now i should explain this in more detail but basically....most cryptids have human forms,these forms work as in they can mask their cryptid traits for human one,but of course there are restrictions,1)a cryptid cant mask as human for long (at least ten hours) without their cryptid form forcing itself out 2) If they still keep on with being human after that(lets say two more hours) their human form will be irreparably damaged,of course it takes a lot to fully get rid of a human form like this,however the smal traits the forced themselves out (be it scales,feathers,or anything else) won’t go away even if everything else about them is human 3)if they had powers(like fire for pheonixs,ice for selmas,and whatever element they already have for sky serpents)that weren’t usable in their human form(a key example of an exception to this are a sirens ability to utilize songs) will be usable,however they will be a lot harder to control

So basically none of that applies to ghost.

Ghost are the most similar thing a cryptid can be to a human,mostly since their so similar in fact that ghost are just humans that can phase through walls and that crap,barely getting the cryptid classification.

Now this is where we get to the VK lore.

Ive already talked about how not ALL of the people in the au are cryptids,just most.

Now take in the fact that the ghost in the au are kinda like semihumans.

Now take in the fact that it is incredibly easy for a ghost to pass as human(apart from the fact that saying you’re a human when you’re,a ghost or not,a cryptid is a crime).

And MVK is a perfectionist.

And MVK would commit a crime to be the “perfect” prosecutor.

You can see what i mean.

Now lets get into edgeworth’s side of things.

In the au edgeworth is a selma(or seljordsormen,but for the sake of not typing that out all the time im callin’ them selma’s)

And remember kids....MVK completely changed edgeworth from when he was a child to adult,making him hide or be ashamed of multiple thing about himself to get revenge at gregory,who i can see being in selma form a lot of the time,and would not be concerned with edgeworth human form getting permanently damaged or his powers getting more wild just to have the “perfect” child.

Once again you can see what i mean.

Now this is where we actually get into the game.

Now I don’t see MVK telling edgeworth that he isn’t human, and even see him going to extremes to hide that fact.

Now we go to 1-4.

MVK’s breakdown.

He reveals it.

Its accidental,but he does it.

That incident leaves a huge impact on both edgeworth and franziska.

Now,the hole von karma fiasco is even worse than in canon because technically franziska commited a crime in pretending shes human,however since she was technically forced to commit it she was let free,however she just barely kept on to her attorney’s badge and her getting let free caused a big controversy.

Edgeworth’s “death” was the last straw for her so she acts a lot more hostile to pheonix as a result,i mean,why should she respect the person who made her lose everything?

ok SO gist of it is medic is a selkie who lives in a secluded cove near a village in the middle of fuck knows where coastal scotland. he's the only one around because everyone else either died or moved away a long time ago out of fear of the humans. he goes into town every once in a while to mess with the townspeople but not enough for them to bear him any actual ill will?? more like a friendly nuisance. also anyone with a head on their shoulders realizes that selkies have lived in the area longer than the village has even existed so they kinda gotta respect that at the end of the day. he's also a pretty good healer and basically kind of acts as the resident town doctor because the nearest Actual Human Doctor is about an hour by drive. basically if you swing by his cove he's almost always willing to heal any ailment you may have. this is really the only reason why most people ever visit him but he gets it, y'know.

he's got three different forms, full human, semihuman, and full seal. full human is only w out his coat tho and when he's not wearing it, his coat just looks like a worn black leather jacket. he does a lot of exploring on the ocean floors and has a severe hatred of plastic fishing nets, which he collects to have them be thrown away whenever the next time he goes into town is. he also has the tendency to get into scuffles with shitty fisherman (which. usually ends up in him both getting injured and damaging their boat but really if you're being unethical and also a dick he doesn't really care about the property damage). also he's fucking.. Big as a seal. like as a human he's around 6'1" but as a seal/semihuman he's like 7'10".

engie's a repairman who moved from america not too long ago after some kinda shitty things happened to him (various family deaths, lost his arm in a workplace accident bc of shitty management, declining mental health, he could go on). he basically got there through demo, who he met and befriended while he was temporarily living in the states for work related things (he ended up coming back tho and working at his family's bakery). he was more than happy to help engie move in and help him out. also they.. may or may not have had a thing going on when demo lived in texas but they decided to break things off and stay friends when he came back home.

now engie does repairs for people around the village for money. he'll repair anything from toasters to refrigerators to cars, hell he'll even do cabinets if you pay him enough. if it's broken and he thinks he can do it, he'll do it for you. he's having some difficulty adjusting to everything but he really needed the change and everyone is friendly enough and he's getting along fairly well.

after noticing medic sauntering around the place every once in a while, he asks demo about him and demo just kinda nonchalantly mentions that he's a selkie, to engie's bewilderment. to be fair demo's seen weirder shit and medic's kind of his childhood best friend so he forgot that seal folk aren't actually in most places lol. engie ends up asking more about him and goes to visit his cove. not because he wants anything, just because he wants to say hi. which is.. a little odd for medic because he never has people visiting unless they want something from him. they get closer and engie ends up visiting several times a week, usually with demo but sometimes not.

eventually they start dating and because of this, people start seeing medic in town a lot more often while engie is sometimes seen wearing a new jacket that everyone's pretty sure he's never worn before. demo starts getting kinda jealous, both bc he kinda still has lingering feelings for engie and bc he and medic had a thing for each other when they were teenagers that never really went away even when they firmly decided to stay friends. he never says anything tho bc he wants both of them to be happy and ends up kind of. stewing in his own misery

eventually the truth comes out and he and engie have a heart to heart conversation about it. and they all end up dating! bc i like happy endings :)

Hi!! For your Rebellion AU are there ways for the robotic hermits to hide themselves/their robot parts when out in public?

Tango, grian, X, and TFC went out and bought some paint that they could put on all the nonhuman/semihuman hermits. they also wear hooded shirts w/ long sleeves to hide some of the other obvious robot qualities (ie impulses eye and plating, zeds plating, docs arm nd eye, mumbos arm, etc etc) 

some of the human hermits use things like face paint or masks to hide their identities from the Gov.

sci-fi au again but it’s some bastardized blame au feat. my twins

thinking about a bastardized blame au that borrows the setting of blame but with some minor differences, aka humans weren't dead for as long and silicon lifeforms are part of a disease that turns pure humans into half synthetic life, aka go feral go crazy some retain intellect tho, and pure silicon creatures are fully sentient and intelligent but im thinking of a society in which android labor was widespread, but bc humans were wiped by silicon corruption, there's huge populations of androids w/o purpose humans do still exist but they're not pure, most of them have varying levels of silicon corruption as well as varying resistances. it does grant these humans superhuman strength or healing though i kind of. wanna put rey and ray as twins in this au as bounty hunters aka humans who hunt down corrupted humans who've gone too far... but they also do odd delivery jobs and stuff likelihood is that they've been alive for Way longer than humans should be due to their own corruption they remember what life was like before things went to shit ray owned a restaurant and rey owned the bar on top of it as siblings they went thru hell together and back and this was their dream and. well. then shit changed but also aesthetic bc: rey with short hair, tank top, sci-fi ass gear and army boots she's also the Slightly Older twin and holds this to ray all the time they argue. Nonstop. sometimes they cant stand eachother bc dumbasses both have strong aggressive personalities but (and ive been thinking abt rey w a sibling for a while) at the end of the day they trust eachother bc they both had the same shitty mom and survived. they can do anything, they're Them? but the scourge... well. they're always upbeat. they have eachother after all, but sometimes when they're alone, ray gets nostalgic. a little wistful, a little sad "it was nice while it lasted, huh? not even a full ass decade, and everything came tumbling down." legs hanging off a ledge, the smell of cigarette smoke "wonder how dom's doing." rey doesn't want to talk about her. she steals the cig from his mouth and puts it out. "that shit ain't good for you." "the fuck? you smoke too you know." but rey's already leaving. neither of them know if dom survived. ray lost a best friend, rey lost a lover it's been two hundred years, maybe more. if she hadn't shown up, dead or alive, she's probably gone but the thing is, the megastructure is huge. so vastly huge and confusing, anything can happen. ray thinks one day she'll show up. dom is tough. she's out there somewhere. (END PROSE) also i just love the idea of rey being a heavy firearm user and she just has a huge laser cannon strapped to her back at all times ray thinks weird flex but ok he probably uses a device that resembles some sci-fi spear/rapier thing but it channels electricity so on his command he can roast shit and also override / destroy power structures as needed. both of them have mechanical skills, can hotwire stuff, they're too dumb for hacking so they usually just try to physically brute force shit (aka... hitting it until it works) ray... leather jacket and gloves. NOTED THO: organic materials are really rare and are either salvaged or synthetically created instead. so this is like fake ass bioengineered leather from one of the few bastions of semi-human life, a big city within the megastructure that's where rey and ray live... they actually do want to start a restaurant again but. i think they've sworn off it until they find out what happened to dom, bc she's the only person they've ever trusted with their dream so until then, bounty work ok wow i kind of love ray w a fucking. black electric rapier spike thing + black gloves and black jacket, leather fucking pants, DANGER BOY!!! then rey loves firearms but sometimes she JUST PUNCHES SHIT. AI technology is self learning so i believe at this point androids have largely gained sentience and semihumans treat them like one of them alister.... heh. fuck. i really want him to be an antagonist actually but a kind of misunderstood one. he's definitely the root of everything. he is probably the progenitor of the scourge and is a human mind implanted into a fully silicon body. who KNOWS how old he is in actuality he was a sick, dying child whose experimental treatment went horribly wrong but this silicon body is stronger, faster, better. he feels no pain anymore. he can walk and run. but he's also immortal. and he can't be with humans bc contact with him is toxic humans with weak resistances died immediately once the plague started. so all the humans left are those who resisted full corruption they went after the source of the plague, intending to kill to stop its spread but even when they did get to alister, they couldnt kill him and boy they tried! took him into labs and did horrible things! some succumbed to the plague from overexposure to him but nothing seemed to stop Alister decided he had enough, killed everyone in a haze, left, then decided to make silicon lifeforms he was lonely! all of them are precious to him and every time a hunter kills one, he mourns semihumans who become fully or mostly corrupted he considers part of his family too GOD I COULD MAKE AND PORT SO MANY OCS cade is about 60-70% corrupted. he's definitely in alister's ranks i gotta think tho bc i do want one pure human with the net terminal gene. probably hidden somewhere in one of those cryosomething freeze tanks idk if i have an oc pure enough to fit the role i gotta check my roster TO EXPLAIN THIS. you need the gene to access the netsphere the netsphere is like an evolved form of the internet that's sort of like heaven and also controls some things in base reality, like the robots that are in charge of automated construction of new structures- these have gone haywire which led to uncontrolled growth this is just canon material but my addition is that once alister went full silicon, he also unintentionally became connected to the netsphere without any real authority to do anything, but the system still detected a breach and it locked Everyone out after alister infected them originally only those of pure genetic pedigrees possessed the net gene haha i love caste systems but now they're all fucking Dead. i imagine life wasn't GREAT before the scourge but it was better than a semi-post-post scarcity environment where some places are uninhabitable so you have silicon life out hunting humans to protect alister, or just for territory, and security systems that have been tripped and now safeguards are running around killing everything that moves safeguards are like antivirus programs but like. in base reality

GOD ALISTER GROWN UP BUT LIKE EVIL AESTHETIC. ALL BLACK EVERYTHING. he definitely has morphing skills, he can connect himself to technology and easily control it bc hes not organic, innocent boy is now twisted and sitting on his throne of black, corrupted human bones truthfully though alister just... wants to successfully turn more humans into silicon so he can make friends and be happy it's sad that they don't usually survive. hundreds of years of loneliness dulled his moral compass the silicon close to him feel like they're not enough they are hideous but fully sentient and intelligent with the same emotions as humans but ig to alister it's not the same. he still loves them but. he truly was human in the past in the end silicon can't truly replace flesh alex... is a high level safeguard with sentience unlike the low level automated ones that attack everything fuck ALEX OF ALL MY OCS TAKES THE PLACE OF KILLY IN CANON THE FUCK he'd probably operate differently tho. way more compassion

I think when he was younger he had the “you’re not my parents” attitude but as he got older he began considering them to be his real parents! I feel like his mother would try to become a part of his life later on but he’d shut her out
