I’ve been teaching myself to knit since last wednesday and I’m enjoying it. It’s fun but also stressful learning a new skill.

I should hopefully end up with a scarf.

If you also know how to knit, I’d love some advice, How the hell do I stop/counteract the sides from curling in on themselves?

Used discarded rye starter for Russianrye.

100% Rye flour. It's quite heavy and has nutty deep flavour.

hey there!

for the first time in a while i’ve felt up to writing this post, sorry it took so long. but i’m doing it now!

these are the supplies that i bought:

i bought three 3 subject notebooks from five star in red, white and purple.

i also bought regular black gel pens from papermate. they’re really quite nice, actually. there is a little bit of ghosting, but tbh i don’t mind.

then, i got the papermate inkjoys, i’ve always loved these pens. a ride or die, i’ve been using them since maybe grade seven? and i’v graduated high school so that says something.

lastly, i got sticky notes, the flags and the squares! they came in gorgeous pastel colours.

i know its not much, but i didn’t want to spend all of my money on supplies because i’m just teaching myself and not actually going to school...

i say this because i know that i will probably not even stick with the self-teaching as i am a lazy piece of crap lol. so thats why i created this account to try and stay motivated!

also a little update on me for the few who care:

i start radiation next week!

i’m terrified, well mostly because they might make me take out my nose ring and idk how to take it out w/o pliers...

i’m getting radiation on my eighteenth birthday :(

also, i noticed that i’ve literally dated my last two posts in April? i think its because when i started this account, i was so loopy from all the pills lol.

Started today with this "perspective resetting" reading from The Odin Project in this TOP Strategy Guide. I intend to revisit this guide a couple of times through the process, as it has reminded me not to distract myself with the little projects (i.e. my RoShamBo project shared in my first post). Man I haven’t seen this in years!!! I almost forgot I had it! I made this when I was in school back in 2011 around finals. It’s also brings up memories of a more difficult time in my life. We had to make a storyboard, present it in front of the class, and make an animatic all in a week’s time. Meanwhile I had other final assignments I had to do due in the same time frame. I had the worst presentation in the class and I didn’t do most of my final assignments because I worked tirelessly on this one thing. Shortly after I dropped out of school and stoped drawing for 5 years. Noob setup. I've been working on computers my whole life but not with them as intimately as I have been thanks to #theodinproject Its just an old tv for the side monitor but im hoping it'll help not having to click through so many pages on my laptop. . The laptop itself came from my dad's old work. They closed and didn't take their computers so he kept his. It was locked down due to an admin password something-or-other and he couldn't get it to unlock so he was gonna trash it but I asked for the shell. So I wiped the OS and added #ubuntu with a thumb drive I had made and boom. Free computer. Better processor then the desktop I have which.... . The Desktop is for my son's school and roblox. My goal with that lovely $300 paper weight is upgrading the RAM and GPU. Maybe another part depending on what it looks like once I take it apart. Eventually I think it'll come alone nicely.
