#SelfLoveAwardsChallenge: 🏆 Award 1: Taking Solange Literal (see tweet) #Miniseries #Introduction: My Mother died when I was 29. During my birthday month. When it was my #golden. 30 on the 30th. It didn't feel golden at all. 🏆 For 3 years now, I've been underwhelmed with celebrating for several reasons. My circle of friends drastically changing and losing my best friend amongst the top of the list. 🏆 I stumbled across Solange's tweet about creating your own space to celebrate your friends and yourself and thought this is perfect for my birthday this year. So I decided to celebrate the fuck out of myself. I am doing this to honor my Mom, because she was my biggest cheerleader. I am doing this for me. I don't give myself enough credit. And I have my own flowers to give myself while *I* can still smell them. So for 33 days, I will be giving myself an award a day. Join me on my journey to greater #selfappreciation and #selflove. #SelfLoveAwardsChallenge 🏆 Award 3: Raising a fantastic human being 🏆 When it comes to #parenting, questioning yourself and the decisions you make is a constant thing. You tweak as you go and truly learn on the job. 🏆 Yesterday, I apologized to him about something and he looks at me and said, "It's ok, everybody makes mistakes. Nobody is perfect." Like bruh, you're 5! I couldn't believe my ears or his very #sage insight/perspective. 🏆 Everyone loves their kid and thinks they're the brightest and most talented in the world. That's how parents are SUPPOSED to feel. But my kid really is a ball of light and love, wisdom and grace, empathy and compassion, freedom and honesty. This morning I realized that no matter what shortcomings I have as a Mom, they can't be that bad... Because I am raising a fantastic individual. 🏆 My son comforted me through some tough times that certain adults couldn't even support me through. He's the love of my life and I am so proud to be his Mom! #SelfLoveAwardsChallenge 🏆 Award 2: Honoring my feelings AND allowing myself to BE loved 🎉 🏆 Today was hard emotionally- especially since I didn't understand everything that I was feeling. And that's ok. Despite the inward confusion, I honored myself by allowing myself to feel exactly how I was feeling. No #apologies, #guilt or #angst. Just #selfacceptance #patience and #kindness. 🏆 I honored the people who wanted to celebrate me by having an open heart. Accepting #compliments, #kindwords, #encouragement, #support and #love isn't easy when you're not feeling #100%, but those moments turned into the highlights of my birthday. It brought balance to my day... And joy. Because I was being loved and openly accepting that love. 🏆 Don't miss out on your blessings by pushing people away. #SelfLoveAwardsChallenge 🏆 Award 4: Being my Own Kind of Beautiful "Once you are real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand." 🏆 Mannnnnnnnnnn, let me tell you. I used to listen to what "they" said about my looks. Lips 💋 too big.... Why don't you twist your hair more?... Why don't you grow your hair back?... You're not this and you're not that. Blah blah blah. Chile. 🏆 Hunty, Idk what they be talking about. All I know is I am beautiful. Underrated, fr fr. And don't need a soul to agree. 🏆 Beauty goes beyond the surface and if you check my heart, you will see some interesting battle wounds, but you would never know it from the way I love. #SelfLoveAwardsChallenge 🏆 Yes, this is still a thing. Lol... I haven't been consistently posting because I've been unexpectedly busy, hunny. But mentally, I've been in full self-celebration 🎉 mode. I find myself giving credit where credit is due more often... for the little things, for the big things... Just lovin all up on myself and being appreciative for all life's lil moments. 💞 With that being said... My next award: 🏆 Award 10: Having no issues buying the flowers myself One of my favorite quotes ever is, "She would buy the flowers herself." -Virginia Wolfe It comes from the movie #TheHours starring#NicoleKidman & the homie #MerylStreep. I've always taken it as a nod to celebrating yourself the way you want, when you want! ❤ Now how empowering is that? The result: Attracting those who adore you, too. For the first time in a long time, I didn't have to buy the flowers myself 😉 I guess that's how that works. Anywho, be a woman who can buy the flowers yourself, but can graciously accept when the time is right! 💐 Shoutout to @alex_elle, I feel she always gets me!

I need an award for that, because I realized how #memes have been my #mantras and tools for both #visualizing AND #manifesting what I want in my life.

I read and reread different memes... Some #inspire, some are #hilarious and make me smile, some are #reminders to do better, some are mantras I live by, some are things I want to see come to pass in my life. Don't let people tell you social media is all bad. Memes save the world, one "seed" planted in the mind at a time. Try saving memes to inspire and help keep you focused on what you want.
