The Quran gives us many cases of people who act based on their desires or what they feel & want in the moment. The brothers of Yusuf acted on their envy. The wife of the Aziz acted on her lusts. The women of Egypt acted on their haughtiness and spread gossip. The leaders of Quraish & Bani Israel acted on their arrogance. The men of the garden acted on their greed and refused to share their fruits with the poor. Shaytan acted on his envy and continues to be too arrogant to seek forgiveness from Allah. They all share one thing in common: they act from a place of desire. What they do rests upon what they *feel* like doing or what feels good, even if it is wrong. They treat people based on how they feel and what they want. They lack character, consistency, and a sense of self that is rooted in their relationship with Allah.
And the Quran gives us many cases of people who restrain themselves even when it’s difficult for the sake of Allah. Yusuf refuses to acquiesce to the wife of the Aziz regardless of desire. He refuses to seek revenge toward his brothers regardless of their betrayal. He refuses to respond to his brothers’ hurtful comments regardless of his pain. Yaqoub forgives his sons regardless of his grief because of their deceitful scheming. Musa chooses to face Pharaoh regardless of his fear. The Prophet ﷺ continued to preach and prayed for Quraish regardless of the sting of rejection and betrayal from his own people. All these people share one thing in common: the act based on their values. Based on what would please Allah. Values are eternal and feelings are fleeting, so they act based on those eternal truths and take them as a guiding compass.
It takes practice and you won’t always get it right. But clinging to your values will guide you to recognize that you made a mistake and immediately seek to rectify it for Allah. That’s what separated Adam and Shaytan ✨

I have been studying the Quran for years, but I didn't realize the importance of reading Seerah alongside it. I always thought that I would find the time to read a book on Seerah or watch a series by some ustadh on YouTube. However, I am doing what's important, which is reading and understanding the Quran as it's meant to be. So, I gave secondary importance to the Seerah of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
I never had tears in my eyes hearing about the Prophet SAW, nor the desire to go to Madinah to visit him, or to be buried in Madinah so that I could be near him or see him in a dream. I could never feel all this or relate to it.
Yes, I heard lectures, felt compassion, and love for a while, but then got over those feelings and thought that maybe this is it. This is all I should be doing.
But then, Nemrah Ahmad launched her course, and like a die-hard fan of hers, I knew I was missing out on something, so I enrolled in it. Still, my thoughts remained the same: that reading and learning Seerah are additional things I would be doing. I didn't give it much importance as my entire focus was on the Quran and Ahadith.
So, I got the course, I opened the first lesson, and I started reading. And boy oh boy, did NA just drop a bomb over my head? She said, “You love to read and understand the Quran, you pray five times a day, you have a relationship with Allah, you want to go to Makkah and Madinah to seek forgiveness. You give Zakat, Sadaqat, and even stay away from sins.
So you believe that in doing so, you have enough faith to enter Jannah. Right? But it is not. It’s like taking an exam, answering all the questions correctly, giving your 100% in the test, but forgetting to write your roll number on the answer sheet. Will this make you pass your exam? No! Because there is a condition to having faith, which was told to us by the Prophet himself (SAW) years ago: "None of you will have faith till he loves me more than his parents, his children, and all of mankind.”
So, you’re telling me that if I’m reading the Quran, praying all my five Salah, doing Tasbeeh, staying away from Haram, giving Sadaqa and Zakat, but I do not have love for the Prophet (SAW) in my heart more than my parents, my children, and all of mankind, that means I have no faith?
And how can I have his love in my heart more than for the entire mankind without reading about him? Without hearing his stories? Without learning what he was like and what he did for us?
And that’s where Seerah comes in 🥹
I don’t think I will ever be able to consider Seerah as something extra now. It is a part of our Deen, our Ilm, and we must learn it as it deserves to be learned because we can only love the Prophet (SAW) when we learn about his life and the sacrifices he made for us. This is why reading Seerah should be a part of our daily lives, just like the Quran and Salah.

Abu Raja' Qutaibah ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from Malik ibn Anas, from Rabi'ah ibn Abi 'Abdur-Rahman, from Anas ibn Malik, that he heard him say:
"The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, was neither very tall nor excessively short, neither extremely white nor deep brown. His hair was neither very curly nor very straight. Allah sent him as a prophet at the age of forty, and he stayed in Mecca for ten years and in Medina for ten years. Allah took him unto Him at the age of sixty, and there were not more than twenty white hairs in his head and beard."
Hamid ibn Mas'adah al-Basri narrated to us. Abdul Wahhab al-Thaqafi narrated to us from Hamid, from Anas ibn Malik, who said:
"The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, was of medium height, neither tall nor short, with a well-proportioned body."
Mahmoud ibn Ghailan narrated to us. Waki' narrated to us. Sufyan narrated to us from Abu Ishaq, from Al-Bara' ibn 'Azib who said:
"I have never seen anyone with thick curly hair, wearing a red garment, more handsome than the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him. His hair reached his shoulders, spread evenly across them, neither too short nor too long."
Kitāb al-Shamā'il al-Muḥammadiyyah by Al-Tirmidhī

Regarding Prophet Muhammad:
"I think of you, an orphaned child, with wide pure eyes rejoicing at life. I see you in your youth, quiet and bashful, in your solitude, feeling the longing for God. I feel your tranquility in the arms of your wife, and your trembling body with the advent of truth.
I see you sitting bewildered and sad in Ta’if, persevering through the trials of life. I think of you comforting your Companion in the Cave of Hira’ with your trust in God.
I think of you instructing your soldiers away from the ants’ nest and mending the broken wing of the injured bird. I feel your beautiful smile tenderizing my world and hear your laughter in the midst of children. I watch you mending your cloth, and then playfully racing your wife.
I ponder your poverty, and the agony of your grief over your dying children. I think of your kindness and forgiveness with every hypocrite and fool, and of the way you honored and dignified your followers. I think of the hypocrite ‘Abdullah Ibn Salul yelling at you, 'You and your donkey stink,' and you refusing to hate, punish, or take vengeance. I think of all of this and I feel you in my heart, and I believe I know you."

Book review - The Sealed Nectar
Perhaps one of the best books on the Seerah (life of the prophet saw)
The book covers his day to day life, key events in Islamic history, the spread of Islam, the Prophet (saw) interacted with Companions and family, his role as a leader, as well as his characteristics and mannerisms.
The more you learn about the life of the Messenger of God (peace be upon him), the more you learn about his devotion to his Lord and his concern for all of humankind.
This book is available in most languages and good for those seeking awareness about Prophet saw, as it is easy to navigate and all stories/Hadith are fully referenced.
I purchased this book in English for myself and in Urdu for my mum from Darussalam book store ❤️

Following In The Footsteps Of The Prophet Muhammad (SAW)! What are the Historic Sites of the Seerah?
Tumblr media
Top Historic Sites From the Seerah of the Prophet (SAW) to Visit Whilst Staying in Makkah or Madinah:
Cave of Hira — the cave on Jabal Nur (the mountain of light), around 6 km from Makkah, where the angel Jibreel (AS) first revealed the Quran to the Prophet (SAW) when he was alone there during Ramadan.
Mount Arafat — Known in Arabic as Jabal ar-Rahmah or ‘The Mountain of Mercy’, it is here that the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) gave his last sermon.
Cave of Thawr — This Famous Cave on the Mountain of the same name is where the Prophet (SAW) and his companions hid from the Quraish, whilst a spider weaved its web across the entrance and a pigeon laid eggs to mislead their pursuers.
Masjid Quba — Built by the Prophet (SAW) following the Hijrah from Makkah to Madinah, it was originally built from mud bricks and was the first place of worship in Islam.
Tumblr media
Masjid Quba — The First Mosque in Islam
Masjid Qiblatain — This Mosque is one of the few in the World to have contained two Mihrab, marking the shifting of the direction of prayer from Al Quds to Makkah in 2AH.
Al-Hudaybiyah — The Historic place where the Treaty of Al-Hudaybiyah was signed in 6 AH, ensuring peace between the Muslims and the Quraish. The well of Hudaybiyah is nearby, where the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) performed a miracle by causing water to flow.
Taif — The People of this Mountainous City rejected and abused the Muslims when the Prophet (SAW) visited them, hoping to spread Islam. Rather than choosing to destroy them for their insolence, he instead forgave them and prayed for them.
Battle of Badr — This Famous Battle took place on the 17th Ramadan, when the Muslims defeated the Quraish army, despite being heavily outnumbered.
Tumblr media
The Battlefield of the Battle of Badr
Mount Uhud — The Site of another Famous Battle, a year later, during which archers stationed on this mountain, which surrounds the plain of Madinah, ignored the instructions of the Prophet (SAW) and abandoned their post, leading to confusion. The cemetery at the foot of the mountain is where the 70 companions who lost their lives were buried.
Battle of Khandaq — Also Known as the ‘Battle of the Trench’ after the trench, which the Muslims dug to protect Madinah. Visit the 6 mosques which were built on the battlefield after withstanding the siege.

They tell you Aqeedah is not important, and that there are greater affairs we are facing as an Ummah.
Subhan'Allaah, knowing our Lord is not important? Allāh told us:
وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ
"And I have not created jinn nor mankind except to worship me alone." (51:56)
How shaytaan has deceived many.
If only they read and understood the Seerah and Dawah of Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم.
May Allāh protect and guide us.

How beautiful the seerah of Abu Bakr Siddiq رضى الله عنه was ;
A man who wasn't a blood relative of Rasool Allah (صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ) but still said I believe in you O Rasool Allah (صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ) " when the people of Quraish mocked and made fun of Prophet of Allah (صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ).

What’s your favourite thing/story about Prophet Muhammad ‎ﷺ?
It's like asking a mother who's her favourite child 😅 Can there be anything in him, RasulAllah ﷺ that cannot be our favourite?
But for the sake of answering this ...
I think, the way RasulAllah ﷺ was perfect in every aspect of his life. How he played every role and responsibility very honestly with pure ihsan. Best slave of Allah subhanhuwata'ala, Best husband, best father, best friend, best leader, best at every single thing. And despite being so occupied and busy... He made sure everyone around him felt important, heard and attended to. He was soft and considerate. The way he was so concerned about the Ummah, he had nothing but love and mercy for the people of his Ummah. We talk a lot about high value men...this and that, but he was the epitome of graceful masculinity, gentlest yet the fierce against the enemies of Islam. Once one of his wives becomes jealous over the other wife, and overthrows the bowl of food presented to him, but nobody sees any trace of anger on his face, he picks up the dropped food, eats it. SubhanAllah. When he could pray against the people of Taif, he prays *for* their guidance and chooses to forgive. Where do we see such forbearance upon insult and humiliation from the whole city? If I could use all my life to explain how do I feel about RasulAllah ﷺ and his life and the events from his life, each one... It wouldn't be sufficient for me. Even if I live a hundred years talking. SubhanAllah. But Jazakallahu khayran katheerah for this ask. This is probably the first ask I've answered with immense awe in my heart...this made me miss RasulAllah ﷺ more. Alhamdulillah. May Allah grant us his close companionship in Jannah. Aameen.
Also, next month we will be starting the Seerah course in Urdu. Allahu Aalam if this ask is one more sign for me 😅
