The Death Trackers are a semi new concept in Transformers, serving as Sentinel’s enforcers and body guards.
Tumblr media
Conceptually they’re clearly based on the Vehicons from Prime:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
More specifically the space jet variants, though I wouldn’t be surprised if the Trackers had space car variants.
Tumblr media
I mean clip the wings, and add some tires, you’re already there, but they also seem to be loosely tied to the IDW Badgeless.
Tumblr media
They’re not … particularly that great at their job like the TFP Vehicons, but they function as Starscream’s secret police force on post war Cybertron.
Tumblr media
The Vehicons’, Badgeless’ & Trackers’ all descend from the Beast Machines Vehicons, Megatron’s attempt at a “Single Elegant Machine” to control Cybertron by creating mindless drones to replace the individualistic robots that originally populated the planet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These Vehicons started a trend that slowly started becoming more common place, where the Decepticons used a near inexhaustible supply of drones that the Autobots could now down without worry of killing off too many named characters.
Unlike the original non General Vehicons from Beast Machines, the Prime Vehicons have Sparks and wills of their own, with ancillary media suggesting they’re all Clones referencing the Prequel era Star Wars Stormtroopers, and the Decepti-Clones from the Armada video game.
Tumblr media
Cyberverse would revisit the idea of nameless drones where its Decepticons employed identical generics to fill out its ranks.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They didn’t appear much though, and while they’re not referred to as Vehicons, they seem conceptually similar to the Prime car Vehicons. The Tarn based “Perfect Decepticons” are closer to the Vehicon concept though, with Tarn serving as their equivalent General in the finale.
One thing most of them all have in common though: they’re weak as slag.
While the Maximals and Autobots struggle briefly, the Vehicons are ridiculously easy to destroy, making the Prime versions in particular sympathetic like the Star Wars Battle Droids though not nearly as charming.
Case in point, the Death Trackers in One get ripped apart pretty easily like tissue paper, with B-127 killing several by accident without even trying or meaning to with his “knife hands”. Bee’s bloodlust being played for laughs aside, it clearly sucks to be a Death Tracker just as much as if does to be a Vehicon. Presumably the Death Trackers also fought in the Quintesson War, but if someone like Bee can kill them so easily, I can’t imagine they stood up to the Quints any better.
Curiously the Trackers come in colored variants, presumably to designate rank.
Tumblr media
What said ranks in story mean isn’t clear as of typing, though Gold clearly is meant to be the highest, though clearly not strongest; Bumblebee’s face mask smashes a Gold’s hand and he easily cuts its head off too accidentally. (I’m leaning towards a headcanon the Micronus Prime donated Cog made B-127 much more powerful, he’s effectively a Prime in strength, but this is never clarified in the story itself.)
The Silver variants appear to be a nod to the Seeker Vehicons used late in Prime, though like the Vehicons, the new shiny chrome detailing doesn’t make them any less blow up-able.
Tumblr media
As the Death Trackers technically worked for a Prime, that presumably means any survivors in the overthrowing of Sentinel now work for Optimus, though that’s never clarified. I feel like Optimus wouldn’t want to continue calling them Death Trackers and instead insist they be called Aerialbots, to make it less … threatening.
If TFONE continues in any form, it’s pry more likely these guys get folded into the Decepticons and become the Vehicons, or Eradicons, if Megatron feels like revisiting that old name.
It also remains to be seen if the Trackers get more variants and Vehicle Modes.

Today's Fallen Order request is for @cityofperpeptualgloom "I'm here."
“Cere.”
She looks up from her book (a detailed history of the hallikset and music theory she started reading during the war and never had a chance to finish) and sees Merrin staring down at her, worry clouding her expression. “What’s wrong?”
Merrin shakes her head. “It’s Cal. In the ruins. I don’t… He won’t speak but… I think he needs you.”
“Is he hurt?”
“Not physically.”
“An echo,” Cere surmises.
Merrin nods. “He won’t tell me what it is.”
“Leave it to me. And tell Greez he might want to clear out the engine room for a while, just in case.”
“He will immediately begin baking Cal those spice cakes he likes,” Merrin says as she heads in Greez’s direction.
Cere leaves the datapad on the table and heads outside into a beautiful, sunny day. The temperature is just right, the air alive with the freshly blooming flowers, sharped by sea salt. The old Jedi temple they came to explore is right on the beach. It’s so idyllic, Cere can’t believe the Empire hasn’t set up a retreat here for the higher ups. She imagines their absence is only because they’re too far from popular shipping lanes, and there are no military benefits to the location.
Not yet anyway.
The Force guides her to Cal no matter how intently he shields. Once a Seeker, always a Seeker. His aura, shrouded though it is, simmers with white hot pain. Worry spiking, Cere picks up the pace and finds Cal deep inside the temple, beyond winding halls of meditation chambers, bedrooms, refectories, even an empty library, in an oculus hall, bathed in the sunlight pouring through the open ceiling. BD looks up at him, slumped and sorry. He sees Cere and hurries over to her, feet tip tapping over the marble floor. He clambers onto her back, beeping quietly. She gives the little droid a pat on the head. She’s here, she’ll help. The oculus hall is huge. Once, it would have housed Jedi seeking peace and wisdom. Now, the painstaking marble carvings hopelessly stained, the chamber home to countless bird species.
Birds, and a small pile Jedi robes at Cal’s feet, weathered beyond use.
“Merrin sent you.”
“She did. She’s worried about you.” And so is Cere. Cal won’t even turn to look at her.
“Children,” Cal tells her from where he stands over the pile. His voice strains, thick with tears. “Left here, long ago. Not because of the purge. There was a disaster on a nearby world. The masters went to help, left their children behind, thinking they would be back within a day or two. They never returned. And these children, left alone, starved. They didn’t know what to do, didn’t understand why they were abandoned here.” He presses both hands to his head, hair spilling over pale fingers. “Everything I touch, all I ever see is misery and suffering. I’m so sick of it.” His head tilts back, tear-stained cheeks catching the sunlight. “Why is the galaxy so full of pain? Why can’t I stop it?”
BD hops down from Cere’s back and rushes to Cal, waiting for him to crouch down. Cal doesn’t so much crouch as collapse, sobbing.
“I’m so sorry,” Cere says. She’d suggested they check this world out not only for the Jedi heritage to be found here, but also to give them all a break. She knows he’s worked on his psychometry, found ways of managing it, and yet the fact remains that the past hurts. Crouching beside him, she places a hand on his shoulder. “I’m here.”
To her surprise, he falls against her. She wraps her arms around him, feels his body trembling with his tears. He’s not shielding her from it now. It buffets her, and it's only thanks to her own shields that she doesn’t crumple along with him.
She waits for him to cry it out. BD hops on to Cal’s back and presses against him, a tiny droid hug. Slowly, steadily, Cal calms.
“Release the memory,” Cere says. “Let it go now.”
“For once, I wish… I want…” But whatever it is he wants, Cal doesn’t say. Instead, he does something he’s getting frighteningly good at – packing up his feelings and putting them away, out of sight and unreachable. He pulls back, wipes a hand over his face, and musters up a faint smile. “Thanks, Cere. I’m sorry I worried you.”
“No need to be sorry,” she says, standing and holding out a hand. He takes it, letting her help him to his feet. “You’re allowed to worry me.”
His smile is a little brighter. “Did you hear that, BD? I got permission to worry Cere.”
BD whoops.
“Permission can be revoked, you know,” Cere says, nudging Cal.

🖊 + may i hear your thoughts about whoever is on your mind.. a crumb of meowmeow...
*coughs.* I've held onto this for way longer than I ever thought I would or planned to and since we all are missing Tyr (affectionate), I'm going to attempt to put some Tyr content on the feed. I am only slightly sorry that it's the heartbreaking, feels-filled and fueled kind, lol.
Tumblr media
So! *claps my hands together* We're going to need a spoiler cut because I'm going to talk about the Nathema Conspiracy again. Maybe properly for once. Because boy howdy is there a lot Tyr Deckard has never unpacked about the implications of the Nathema Conspiracy! [Edit: and some. Agent specific and other general story spoilers from before that point as well. General advice: this post is for after the Nathema Conspiracy arc is resolved, lol]
Iokath and onward has really interesting implications with Tyr for a boatload of reasons, really. As Alliance Commander, the decision to ally with the Republic on Iokath puts him in opposition with Acina - who, if memory is serving correctly and if not is just my own personal taste of how the story plays - is serving around the Dark Council and eventually on it in the era where Tyr was actively serving in Imperial Intelligence, or at least shortly after it. While I can't claim to have successfully completed the Dread Masters nor the Seeker droid questlines because of those sneaky little operations and heroics they tacked on at the end of those quest lines, I've sent Tyr to work for Acina on early Dread Seed investigations at least once, and to say the least, it leaves a bitter taste in his mouth. Certainly her remarks on Iokath do the same - it solidifies that impression, the story as Tyr knows it, that he's only been as good as his work wasn't too much of a risk for the Empire, and for the Council in particular.
Which is kind of its whole own separate ramble that isn't what I said we'd talk about, but I'm not sure I've really publicly discussed it and foggily I think it's only been implied in some of my older fic writing here or there. Which... is a bit of a shame, really. Empress Acina nearly seems like a Sith he might be able to work with, up until that moment. Intelligence should have retired you when they had the chance - the kind of proof for Tyr's opinion that the Empire hasn't changed in the nearly twenty years he's spent in his Intelligence career. In hindsight, it probably feels foolish to have ever considered maybe some experience would've taught her something, to give just enough belief that the Empire might finally have a leader that would take it in a direction of improvement, but... Unfortunately, nothing that happens there and after really gives him much time to linger on it.
Tumblr media
But, again, that's... a different podcast for a different day, as I've fondly picked up from a recent professor, lol.
SO. About the actual promised subject of this post, lol! I always have to be very careful introducing Tyr in my mind palace to the traitor arc as a story piece in general because... here's the thing... Tyr's incredibly loyal, at his core. But he's loyal in the way that he'll tear himself apart to save you the trouble of trying to do the same thing. His loyalty is the kind where he asks to be told the truth so he can lie for you.
And also the kind of loyalty where he'd pull a trigger on you for the sake of a long-term bigger picture outcome where you might be better off. Were the roles much different, Tyr very easily could've been the Alliance traitor, and unfortunately for anyone he cares for, I know he'd sell the role hook, line, and sinker. Which for now is just sort of a thought exercise @ho1ythunder and I like to torture our blorbos in occasionally, for the most part, rather than... a primary version of events, if you will. But it's a very interesting and chewy one because very few other instances tempt Tyr to show his loyalty in such a spectacularly disastrous (for himself and others) fashion, and therefore I think a lot of those closest to Tyr just... don't really. know, entirely, that he's... that way. He's incredibly good at masking such edges in the careful dance of duties he performs.
His loyalty and his saying he'd never (like to) hurt the people he cares for is no less genuine for this reality of him, certainly. But Tyr Deckard is not a man who does anything by halves, and on a gamble like the one against the Heralds for the sake of the Alliance and a Commander he'd trust and be loyal to? That's the last job in the galaxy to ever do by halves, if he wants even half a shot at it actually working in the Alliance's favor.
Tyr's the type that would end up in the Alliance either way, likely - very likely as an Intelligence asset, if not finally in a directing and overseeing operations role by that point in his life and career. He's likely worked with Lana practically from the start on locating the Outlander; they already served fairly close together in Sith Intelligence and Tyr is... not really the type to stay idle about something like Zakuul. He was already uneasy in the Empire given his... sympathies and mission history, after all, and the Republic's just as deep up Schitt Creek, if you will, about Zakuul, so defection to the SIS isn't really an ideal option at that point anymore.
The Alliance was where he could do the most good. He believes in that idea - of pulling together both sides, of forging something new and possibly better to confront something bigger than any one of them. And as Nine, he's played more than his fair share of spy games with shadow organizations - from the Star Cabal to the Shroud to the Revanites.
Regardless of how the Eternal Throne is resolved, unrest is almost a given with that much change going down in Zakuul. With the resources of Alliance Intelligence, it's... no stretch to consider someone with Tyr's track record could hunt down the Heralds. And it maybe should be little surprise he'd infiltrate them and play along to try to get information.
Unfortunately up to and including setting up an Umbaran train incident. To put the business end of a blaster against someone he likely respects and trusts. Someone he could even be quite close with.
Because he promised he'd never let a threat like the Heralds get that deep, that close to destroying what you've built.
Or, if you've been... less kind... Well. Tyr's had a bit of enough of his life being out of his own hands. Still, it's a lot of deaths on the line. A lot of lives.
Either way, the Heralds have to be stopped.
Infiltration. Assassination. Manipulation. All specialties of your ex-Cipher. Is it really any wonder he'd go so far? A doubt he's not above planting himself. For the sake of the cover. For the sake of keeping enough of Atrius's faith in his commitment and ability to follow through to figure out what he needs to gain the Alliance an edge it desperately needs.
Tumblr media
And that is all interesting enough, I'd say! But no, I couldn't ever be that nice to him. I have to go and make sure Shara Jenn's involved regardless of him not being the main character! Because frankly Shara's reappearance on Nathema could ALSO probably be its own post and Tyr to this day STILL hasn't unraveled for me how he feels about it (his argument is that she already said there's nothing for them to discuss. And he can do many things; raise the dead and make amends with them is not among them). So her with a Tyr that's actually working for the Alliance within the Heralds is EXTRA chewy and interesting!
Because I like to believe she still remembers enough about how he works. Still remembers the younger Cipher Nine that stood against Darth Jadus, with no backup available and only her in his ear for advice, and argued with her that the human cost of the Eradicators was unacceptable. Her idealistic underneath the pragmatic facade of a well-trained operative Cipher Nine that defied the second most powerful living Sith, likely knowing full well it was likely a futile gamble with his own life.
That Cipher Nine doesn't match the work of the Heralds here. Oh, sure, they talk, they make nice. Maybe even rekindle a bit of those lost nights shared between them on Dromund Kaas nearly a lifetime ago now. But they're both playing a game.
A part of him still loves her - loves the woman he used to know. He may never have been able to fully trust her again after the Castellans - it was hard for him to trust anyone, but it made what he felt for her no less real. Maybe the same parts of her that are suspicious of his working against the Heralds' goals, the same parts that likely drive her to share advice with Atrius that this ex-Cipher she knows can't really be trusted outside of arm's reach... Maybe those same parts of her would like to still trust him.
But it doesn't matter. Imperial Intelligence is still gone. Cipher Nine's an Imperial ghost story. And it's been a long time since she's answered to Keeper of Operations Division.
And it's this... nexus of everything, everything it costs that... Normally, if it had been just any One of these acts in isolation...
If it'd just been the train. If it'd just been putting a blaster bolt through a trusted ally and friend? He likely could live with doing it again.
But all of it? An ultimate accusation from Atrius that he's betrayed everything and everyone he's ever claimed to hold loyalty for?
Imperial Intelligence for the deal with Ardun Kothe. Shara, for the same deal. He turned his back on Sith Intelligence to run off on this 'ghost hunt' with Lana. He's betrayed the Alliance now as well.
And all of that still nearly cost the Alliance everything. It almost didn't work. It nearly kills him. The hope he had for Shara to have made it out of this web of lies and madness that mired Intelligence in its cannibalization is utterly extinguished by her even being involved with the Heralds. He couldn't save her.
Was it worth it..? Was the cost... really worth it? Even in victory? Even though there's an Alliance left to judge his actions?
Little else - perhaps... nothing else he's done or survived has ever... really felt too far. But this would be. This was, he painfully realizes once the act's already finished. When there's nothing left but sparking machinery and the tang of blood on his tongue.
He might not be able to bear to ask for forgiveness, the bitterness of it all is so strong. He couldn't believe he'd deserve it, for what he's done. For what it's cost.
But will you? Could you? Enough to make him live with the guilt and the shame.
And if you could, well... Cipher Nine might finally cede he's been at this perhaps... too long. Another call like that.... It shouldn't have happened in the first place.
And THAT. That!!!!! To find a scenario where someone like Tyr, who... I'd say almost doesn't know how to quit. He doesn't just... give up, on anything. I'm sure a fair few would wish it'd take less to make him consider slowing down, to finally hang up the drive to be something like Atlas, with the weight of everything always upon his shoulders. But... damn, it sure is chewy something finally could. >:3
Tyr Vaiken Deckard, the man that you are etc etc. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

All paths lead here part 2
Masterlist
Anakin was destined to fall in love with a Senator. Although, he did not know it would be you.Trouble follows you around....or is it chasing you?
Tumblr media
"Anakin, stay with the Senator, I will begin the investigation into the security staff. It may feel to many of the people here that we are overstepping our boundaries but you need to test all her handmaidens. Each of them will need-" Obi-Wan cuts himself off his head whipping toward the direction of your quarters.
"I feel it too." Anakin admits and the two men rush to your door, bursting through, their Sabres already lit. You're lying on a sofa, peacefully unaware of their presence. The two Jedi look around, slowly sweeping the room when a small panel opens in the wall and a mechanical device drifts in. They both stop, completely still as it moves, the gears whirring inside it.
"What is it?" Anakin whispered.
"Stay very still, it's a hunter seeker. There will be someone controlling it, the sensor only picks up movement." Obi-Wan whispered back.
The seeker moved around the room, slowly waiting for anything. You shift in your sleep and the seeker catches your movements. It turns, a needle protruding from the tip and races toward you. Anakin doves forward grabbing the device in his hands. It fights for control as he crushes it with his metal hand. Small sparks crackle around his fingers. The sound of his body thumping down after leaping over the sofa had awoken you.
"What?"
"Stay here!" Obi-Wan shouts as he grabs the parts from Anakin and runs out of the room.
"Anakin?"
He crouches down in front of you.
"Someone was using a hunter seeker to attack you. We've stopped the device. Obi-Wan will stop the perpetrator." He assures you. Your hand instinctively holds on to him.
"Anakin, I don't feel safe anymore." You admit shakily.
"This is a hard time to be a politician." He agrees with you, "you have not been sleeping well have you?" He observes your eyes.
"A few hours each night, there is so much to consider. With Naboo being so engulfed in this war we have little choice but to prepare ourselves. It would be easy for the separatists to turn their attention here. We are a smaller planet and could be easily overwhelmed by the droids.
"We will train your army, make them formidable. You will be well protected, Senator."
"Thank you."
"You can keep R2 with you whenever you wish to sleep. He has a keen sensor that will alert us to any movements inside this room. I will seal the wall panel the seeker came through."
You nod, unsure of what to say.
"I think you'd be more comfortable sleeping in your bed." Anakin glanced at the sofa before holding out his hand and guiding you over to the elaborate bed. Four pillars stood tall at each corner, with a canopy of yellow connecting them. Heavy curtains draped around them, matching the material of the bedspread and curtains. You laid down on top of them, giving no fight to the Jedi removing your shoes and placing a light blanket over your legs.
Anakin would never admit to himself or anyone else but he waited for you to fall asleep, his eyes tracing the lines on your face. The scar on your hairline cut through the scales around your ear but did not distract from the beauty of your rounded features. He reached forward and pushed a strand of your (y/h/c) hair away from your face. His fingertips brushing your skin.
The door opened behind him and he turned back to his master, placing a finger to his lips. Obi-Wan nodded.
Once the blue and white R2 droid was situated in your room the two Jedi moved onto the adjoining balcony.
"A droid?" Anakin repeated.
"Yes, the Senator was right to employ us. In Fear we may be too late, but we will not give up. Interview her immediate staff, I will begin with the security." They agree and go off to their jobs.
Anakin sets up in your office, which is close to your bedroom. One by one he brings the handmaidens in and probes them. He verbally asks many questions as he uses the force to search their minds. All came up genuine and reliable. Much to your relief. With your ladies able to help you once more you felt a hint of normalcy creeping back. You sit with Anakin as he works through the staff. None knew how the droid had got in, and all appeared safe to continue working for you.
"It is such a relief." You admit to him as you walk down to the dining hall. Feeling comfortable in his presence with no need for any formalities you had opted for a simple blue bodysuit and matching boots. An elegant cap fell from the shoulders and draped just below your bottom. You could smell the delicious dinner waiting for you before you had reached the hall.
"It will be nice to eat a real meal again." You laugh. Stepping inside you see Obi-Wan waiting for you. He is happy to report little events from the security team.
"Good. Now let's leave work there. I'd like to eat dinner with two friends." You demand with a grin.
"Yes ma'am." Anakin quips. The three of you sit and indulge in the food. Roasted meats, steaming vegetables, creamed rices, pastries and boiled fruits. It was pure indulgence and you loved every bit of it. You could tell both men did as well.
"It has been a long time since we ate so well." Obi-Wan admitted. You all went to bed full and happy. R2 beeped gently as his scanner scoped the room. You felt safe.

“The Apostate”
One of my Mandalorian OCs, Lina Corren (and her reprogrammed seeker droid named “Sur'haai”)
She’s a former Child of the Watch (she basically grew up alongside Din and Paz on Concordia and then their covert on Nevarro), she broke the creed when her helmet was removed/destroyed during a mission and was was cast out of the clan upon her return to the covert.
Eventually, she would end up becoming the leader of a group of Mandalorians, making a base in the Outer Rim, and going on raids against Imperial bases, convoys, and settlements.

Day five of Skystar week! Prompt: “Furious/Calm”. Song: Grenade by Bruno Mars.
Ficlit: Spousal Privilege
“And another thing; you Primus forsaken, Unicron spawned, droid fragging, factory defects…!” Starscream roared into the faceplates of the youths. He had backed them into a corner so thoroughly, they had forgotten they had him out numbered three to one and were all twice his height. No one had witnessed a display of the infamous disposed Prince of Vos’s temper since his defection from the Decepticons nearly a year prior.
“Oh-kaaaaay, I think they’ve had enough.” Skyfire swiftly scooped up his husband, as though he weighed no more than their newly-forged Sparkling, who was currently enjoying a play date with her older cousin while her parents had attempted a quite shopping trip into the settlement’s open air market, and slung him over his broad shoulders.
Skyfire strode out of the village purposefully, embarrassed beyond measure, having decided their family could survive without the items on their shopping list for at least however long it took for the whispering gossips to find something else to wag their glossa about. It took a long time for the shuttle-former to loose his patience but even he had his limits.
“Skyfire, put me down this instant! I am not a Sparkling!” Starscream demanded and thumped his husband’s armor between his wings.
“I will, when you stop acting like one!” He growled back, just loud enough for only his Partner to hear. The ex-Autobot had been raised that one did not disparage their mate in public, it simply wasn’t done.
“Wha…? I was defending you!” The ex-Air Commander was earnestly shocked. His beloved rarely ever got mad at anyone, let alone him. He felt confusion, sadness and righteous indignation all over again caused by his lover’s reaction.
“I know Darling, and I adore you for it, really I do. But you nearly beat those Fledglings into scrap over a little harmless teasing.” Skyfire could feel a processor ache coming on as he set his husband down on his peds so they could talk like civilized adults. They were roughly half way between the village and their private residence at this point and it was a good enough place to stop.
“You’re my Conjunx Endura, I can’t just stand by and let some slag spouting child call you a clumsy oaf!” Starscream stomped his ped in frustration. An adorable habit in Skyfire’s opinion and oh how happy he had been to find that their daughter had inherited the trait.
“It’s true, I am a klutz. And besides, Starscream, YOU call me a clumsy oaf on a regular basis.” The ex-Autobot laughed, feeling his anger melt into his usual calm demeanor.
“That’s different! First off, you know I don’t really mean it, and secondly, I reiterate, I am your Conjunx! I alone have earned the right to tease you!” The Seeker scowled and crossed his arms, wings twitching in annoyance. “If you think for one nano-click, I’m going to let some over charged, pathetic, unchristianed Fledgling with a Sire kink, come-on to my mate right in the middle of town no less! And get away with it? You have another thing coming!”
Skyfire flashed his optics in a Transformer equivalent of a shocked blink. “Starscream… are you jealous?” He was flabbergasted. Judging from the almost instantaneous blush that blossomed on his lover’s faceplates, and how the smaller mech tried to his it by turning away at his waist and putting a servo over his mouth, yes he was! ‘Oh Primus beloved,’ Skyfire chuckled to himself ‘what am I going to do with you?’
The big Shuttle pulled his spouse in for a passionate kiss, and held him to it until he felt all the tension release from the smaller frame in his arms. “Darling,” his engine purring “Only you in all the cosmos would think teasing was a viable form of flirting. They were simply a gang of bored children.”
Starscream snorted “You always did underestimate your own attractiveness.” He then turned his nose up in a vain attempt at salvaging his dignity. “Well the important thing is, I got my point across. Those little glitches won’t be trying that again and now the entire community knows I am a devoted Conjunx.”
“Hmmm.” Skyfire smiled, for once the mischievous one. “And how should my valiant hero like to be rewarded?”
Starscream smirked and rubbed his left leg up and down Skyfire’s right one. “How about you throw me over your shoulders again and take me home? We don’t need to pick up Zephyr for another four mega cycles and I’d hate to waste the evening.”

Rebels Rewatch: “Always Two There Are”
Getting reeeeeaaaal spooky up in here all of a sudden and also say hello to one of my favorite bad bitches.
We open with Phoenix Squad still traveling idly through realspace in search of a permanent base.
Tumblr media
This is a deceptively pretty shot.  Like:
“Hi. :)  Nothing bad is going to happen this episode. :)  See how bright the sun is?  Things are fine. :)”
Rex has already been integrated as a crew member it seems, as he’s quite contentedly playing dejarik with Zeb.
Chopper must have been irritating Ezra and Kanan really badly that week, Kanan doesn’t even really bat an eye at Ezra asking to drop him if he manages to levitate him, lol.
“Shenanigans” leitmotif in flute as Sabine decides it’d be really funny to play a little prank on Ezra, advising Chopper to magnetically clamp himself to the deck, which Rex notices.  And then as expected the Force Theme prelude.
Tumblr media
Devilish little bean.
She’s not doing this to be mean, I think, just poking a bit of fun at him, akin to her punching his shoulder back in “Visions of Hope”.
Ezra’s a bit too frustrated by [*gestures to Kanan and Rex’s... everything*] to really appreciate it, with good reason, as no sooner has he complained than Rex stands up all, “Well MY Jedi was--” immediately offending Kanan.
Tumblr media
Help him he looks so tired and done.
Tumblr media
And Sabine shaking her head in the background there and quickly vacating the chair, wow everyone pretty much bailed on listening to Round #234 didn’t they?  Lol.
Kanan’s annoyed, “Ezra!” as Ezra disappears up the ladder, ha ha.
Ironically, if Ezra hadn’t volunteered himself for the mission and come along, it probably would have gone completely uneventfully.  It was Ezra’s presence on the station that Fifth sensed, and Seventh’s probe probably reported him specifically to her too.
Whoops.
I do have to wonder if this episode was specifically timed for Halloween because it makes an excellent Halloween episode.
Creepy abandoned location?  Check.  Ominous music?  Check.  Killers hiding in the dark?  Check.
Tumblr media
My gosh look at the dust falling off the old doors there.  Or maybe that’s ice, Zeb and Ezra’s breaths are also visibly puffing as if it’s cold.
The approach to the station is completely silent, music-wise.  Once we’re inside we get a soft cue full of long eerie strings and plunking music-box-like chimes from several different scale xylophones.
This tilting Dutch-angle shots used throughout are not dissuading the horror movie vibes by the way.
Subtle animation appreciation moment: How Ezra and Sabine both look down and step carefully, watching their feet as they avoid debris on the floor.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A biased shipper note: Ezra’s comfortable enough to get Sabine’s attention with a hand on her shoulder.  Under normal circumstances she probably wouldn’t be this jumpy about it. XD
Ah yep, I was right, the ID9 Seeker doesn’t transmit to Seventh until after it’s seen Ezra.
Chopper turns on ALL the lights ha ha.  He knows when he’s in a horror movie.
This scene with Fifth, Kallus, and Konstantine on the Star Destroyer plays out almost beat for beat like the “Vader senses Luke on Hoth scene” from Empire.  And you know what it just occurred to me that Vader specifically called Konstantine to pick Fifth up last episode, and also gave him his own personal shuttle.  (Which he’s going to use to jet off this Star Destroyer to the target.)
I guess we know which one’s Vader’s favorite lol.
Always love when Jedi use their sabers as flashlights.
For a bit of levity, the music and banter turns playful, Zeb and Ezra arguing about who’s going to find the medical supplies first.  (While they all completely miss the room the crates are in.)
Tumblr media
He’s a dumbass and I love him Your Honor.
In the meantime, Chopper gets jumpscared and ambushed by the ID9 Seeker droid, who uses Choppers voicebox to call for help.  It’s actually really sweet that Ezra’s been learning binary in order to better understand Chopper.
Tumblr media
Lotta casual touching in this episode I didn’t really notice before.  It’s cute.
Zeb getting stuck in the vent will never not be hilarious.
“Okay, that’s uncomfortable.” <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What a gentleman. <3
Tumblr media
You can baaaaarely make out Seventh in the shadows of this shot.  Her intro is almost casual at first, she just saunters up into view completely unbothered.
AND THEN THE RED LIGHTSABER IGNITES AND WE ARE ALL LIKE, “OH SHIT, THERE’S TWO.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeah, that’s the appropriate reaction.
A little moment of battle tag-teaming for Ezra and Sabine here as the background music swells with rapid tinny percussion beats and an eerie woman’s voice like a siren song.
Ezra fares little better in his brief skirmish with Seventh Sister than he did against the Grand Inquisitor, though his stance is a bit improved.  But the two teens are soon booking it as fast as they can away from her.
Tumblr media
ONLY TO RUN RIGHT INTO THIS NIGHTMARE RIGHT HERE.
Tumblr media
Again, the appropriate reaction.  Lol.
The bass booms of the Inquisitor theme enter along with Fifth and the siren wail gets louder as Seventh slooooooowly strolls after them.  (After paying a brief, “Oh it’s you.” glance at Fifth)
I love how she’s not even worried her prey will escape; It makes her even scarier, that she doesn’t feel like she even has to expend the energy to catch you.
They come up against a locked door and Ezra moves to cover and defend Sabine as she frantically works at the panel.
Tumblr media
She gets it open, they turn to run through, but Seventh catches Ezra in a Force Grip, freezing him in place, and her ID9 Seekers grab hold of his ankles and start dragging him back towards her along the floor.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeah that’s not terrifying.
Sabine whips around, horrified, immediately trying to run back.  Ezra can practically feel Seventh bearing down on him now and pulls a move straight from Kanan’s lexicon, yelling for Sabine to run before stabbing his saber through the door controls and sacrificing himself for her escape.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
LIKE MASTER LIKE PADAWAN.  *SOBS*
ALSO CAN I APPRECIATE SABINE COMING UP AGAINST THE DOOR FUTILELY, YELLING HIS NAME?
Tumblr media
(Trick question, I’m going to whether I get permission or not I love this moment.  Ezra doesn’t even hesitate, he knows he’s caught but he’s going to make sure he protects Sabine, even as she desperately tries to get back to him.  Shut up, don’t look at me.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Seventh Sister very quickly establishes that she’s the brains to Fifth Brother’s brawn, preventing Fifth from killing Ezra outright and planning to use him to lure in the other two.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Excuse me, MA’AM, that is unwarranted proximity.
Subtle animation appreciation moment: The way Seventh’s nails make small indents and depressions in Ezra’s skin, showing off how scarily sharp they are.
Also Sabine hopping over debris in the hallway here.
“I don’t wanna die this way... I’m the last of my kind!”  LOLOLOL I’M SORRY I KNOW THIS IS A SERIOUS SITUATION BUT THAT LINE KILLS ME.
Zeb immediately snapping into protective big brother mode. <3
I love the way Seventh moves, she’s so slinky and catlike.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ezra plays a very defiant captive, using his trademark snark and sarcasm as a shield.  The music for this whole scene has gone back to the muted scraping strings, dragging on high notes like nails on a chalkboard.
Fifth tanks Zeb and Sabine’s ambush attempt but then makes the mistake of leaving Zeb alive, letting Seventh’s ID9s take care of him instead.  He’s not the brightest.
Still scary how tiny Sabine is over his shoulder though.
Back with Seventh and Ezra and Seventh has graduated from asking questions to inflicting a bit of mild torture.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And she continues to be inappropriately touchy with him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeah this whole episode basically activates the entirety of my gremlin brain, there’s so much quality peril and whump.
Seventh casually reveals the Inquisitorius knows about Ahsoka and that and the “As pretty as you are...” comment are the first things that really shake Ezra.
Tumblr media
I do like how Zeb not really understanding Chopper when he recovers him motivates him to start learning Binary too, offscreen, and he’s learned enough to start to parse Chopper by “Future of the Force”.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fifth brings Sabine in, much to Ezra’s dismay, and Seventh gets very quickly irritated.  Despite her demands and her previous threats to dismember Ezra, he doesn’t budge.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is very pretty lighting on the two.  The red isn’t quite as harsh as you’d expect.  Side note.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lotta silent eye communication as they process Zeb’s ruse. <3
Sabine tries to warn Zeb away but Fifth puts his saber at her throat and Ezra immediately rushes to comply, which will not be the last time that threatening Sabine gets him to surrender.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Watch how his head starts forward here.)
Tumblr media
(His eye movement is rapid and darting.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
<33333333
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh sue me, I’m a big ol’ sap.
Seventh gleefully talking about killing Ezra and Sabine “very slowly.” ughghhh she’s so creepy.
Zeb coming in with a flurry of action music and blaster shots to save the day.
And this is why you should never have a plan that involves teamwork, Inquisitors, because y’all suck at it.
Tumblr media
See, this is how it works. :)
Hera with her feet up on the chair like that ha ha.
Kanan was so ready to scold Ezra and then Ezra mentioned Inquisitors, plural, and he and Hera are immediately on their feet and twitching like worried parents.
Tumblr media
Kanan’s struck speechless and can’t even answer Zeb, because he didn’t know, he didn’t know there was more than one Inquisitor, half his team could have gotten killed, his padawan could have been killed just because he got annoyed with the bickering and left.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hera jumping in with supportive touches all around. <3
Tumblr media
I love this embrace.  It’s just such married body language.
But ouch what a way to end an episode.  The Imperial March closes us out, slow and heavy, portending doom.
Soooooo yeah, I pretty much love this episode to pieces, it’s a frequent rewatch.  Introduces us to our new weekly low-level antagonists (who while not as strong or charismatic as Grand have enough significant presence and threat to be interesting to me), continues the Kanan-Rex tension and drama, has some of my favorite Sabezra interaction, and splashes us with the cold reality after the previous fun episodes that things are more serious now, the threat is bigger and expanding.  Uncharted territory lies ahead and here there be monsters.
Next couple episodes are more Friendship Fetch Quests.  I haven’t rewatched them in a while so we’ll see if I find any new appreciation for them.

Laveena
Tumblr media
Laveena is a mercenary jedi oc of mine!~ a lepi who used to be part of a family of kyber crystal miners before the empire took over her planet. she seeks revenge towards them, and her sister, who is a fully fledged sith. her sister's also the one responsible for laveena's cybernetic arms. both she and her sister are fantastic tinkerers, so when laveena lost her arms she quickly fabricated her current arms with scrap parts and a plastoid plating for the outside. with kyber crystals she held onto she also installed blasters into the palms of her hands, though they're not very powerful. later on she changed the plastoid plating for durasteel, though she'd love to get her hands on some beskar [without mandalorians chasing after her that is]. the gold colored plating is just aesthetic.
her lightsaber is made from another kyber crystal she held onto, plus a damaged lightsaber she repaired. the lightsaber glows an orange yellow color.
Laveena likes a lavish lifestyle, with her ship being modeled after a modified naboo royal cruiser, with canons added to the wings and front of the ship. she even has a pool inside it! she has a BB series astromech and a seeker/parrot droid as her partners, and she loves them lots! they're her dorks, but they are well behaved around her, and she is looking to install vocal hardware in them that would allow them to speak in a non-binary language.

Alright, a quick round up of what I published last month!
Oneshots and drabble series:
The Inexplicable Legend of Saffron Chastity McGrates: In which Brockton Bay is introduced to a CPS agent that actually wants to Protect Children, and will face down all Worm's grimdarkness to do it.
Seeker and Sprite: Manifestation 1.3: Vicky triggered late, Taylor triggered early, and it turns out they're a cluster. In this chapter, Vicky hears that Taylor's woken up...
Taylor Altpower: Droidworks: Instead of controlling bugs, Taylor makes Star Wars droids. How does this affect the plot?
General Grievous Saves The World, much to the surprise of everyone, especially General Grievous: Because Earth Bet is in such a terrible state that even the murderous cyborg jedi killer is an improvement.
Maddeningly Sane: What happens when a character gets so traumatized that they come down with a case of common sense?
Taylor Altpower: Raven Friends: Taylor befriends ravens. She doesn't control them, she just befriends them. Might not even be a parahuman. How does that change the plot of Worm?
Inibarrana: Artavaita: What if... Bionicle was in Star Wars? (Yes that's right, no Worm this time!)
And then I also published the first five chapters of Vista of the Stars, wherein Vista mysteriously arrives on Ryloth, which is sure to not cause any ripples in the Star Wars timeline. I mean, what can one space-warping little girl actually do to change things, right?
Anyway, here is your reminder that writers are artists too, and artists need support! Here is my Patreon if you want to support me long term, and here is my ko-fi if you want to support me short term. I really depend on this for... basically all my income.

It's been a year
It has been about a year since I tucked Viri and my other characters into their favorite strongholds in SWTOR and turned off the lights.
Tumblr media
I don't miss the lack of content. I don't miss the devs' obvious contempt for most of the playerbase. I don't miss the playerbase that was so toxic. I don't miss the bugs. I don't miss the "story" that was inconsistent, sad and to quote Eddie Izzard, "collapsing on itself like a flan in a cupboard." I don't miss the nasty little group of misogynistic, lesbophobic "fans" who tried so desperately to get the only wlw main character excised from the story and shrilly screamed like Veruca Salt when said wlw character had a line or dared to appear on screen. Definitely don't miss them.
But I put a lot of time and money and effort into SWTOR, and letting that all go - has been a lesson in letting things go for me. I worked on getting as many achievements and datacrons with Viri as I could, and getting the strongholds and such. I'm still very proud that I soloed several things that aren't easy to solo, such as the Fleet datacrons and the Seeker Droid finale. I'm proud that I made it through the Macrobinoculars speeder jumping puzzle, since those were the bane of my existence. I'm proud that the speeder I wanted came up in the Uprising I wanted.
Tumblr media
I've always said that Viri in FFXIV - who goes by Rigel in my stories for sake of not confusing things- is who Viri is in that universe. And frankly if you've been through Shadowbringers, it's entirely plausible for me to even think Viri - STWOR and Viri - FFXIV coexist, given shards of souls and such.
I think FFXIV is a far superior game. In FFXIV you get the distinct feeling that the devs genuinely give a fuck about the playerbase, that they actually play the game (Yoshi apparently is a black mage…respect, man. Respect for getting that to 90), and that when problems arise, they try to solve them. Even though there is some unavoidable group content like the trials, they do seem to go out of their way to make it as painless as they can.
Story wise, in FFXIV Viri can be who she wants to be, without the backdrop of a story that doesn't know what the hell it's doing anymore and a very rigid, black and white THIS SIDE BAD!! THIS SIDE GOOD!! mentality coming in from every angle. She's in a far more nuanced, far larger, far more interesting place with a lot more to do. And while I originally was like "oh Lord, don't give me medieval dragons and elves, ugh," she's very ironically running around with a dragon familiar now and considers the medieval-styled city populated by elves to be home (also the Crystarium).
Romance wise, I also think that FFXIV does things better even though they have no official romances. They certainly leave a lot of open doors, but they also structure things in such a way that characters can plausibly never walk through those doors. Your character has dinner or a heartfelt talk with an NPC? Hey, that could be romance or could be two platonic friends, and both work. They set up things like All Hallows Eve where players can do photo shoots with NPCs they like. And it's more or less accepted that everyone in FFXIV's lands could have fluid orientations and fancy your female or male player character. They are incredibly LGBT+ inclusive and have non binary characters that use they/them pronouns too. It's better here, I think.
Having said that…I miss running around with Lana and Viri. Not doing anything in particular, just running around with them. I was able to finish The Eternal Wrath but it's been rough trying to write about them since then.

Imperial Seeker droids ala Dio and the ones utilized by Seventh Sister can apparently be used as Astromechs, according to Battlefront (2017)
This is irrelevant trivia but it's also interesting to know how versatile some droid units really are.

(Tbb s2 e14 spoilers down below)
The thumbnail has Crosshair I already know it's going to be good :D
More vultures
No way! Is that...HOWZER!!!!!
Echo! And Gregor!!!
They are doing work! It's so nice to see Echo again ( looks like hes in charge as well)☺️ and we have two new names. Fireball and Nemec (let's see if they live).
Empire is trying to erase the ships data banks.
IT IS HOWZER!!!
They got away
Now thats how you start an episode!!
Ok. What are they about to do to Crosshair? All those clones held prisoner 😔
Dr Hemlocks assistant is so cheery and "caring" "How are you feeling Crosshair?" How do you think he feels!?😡
Hemlock's vioce is so sickeningly soft and sweet. I hate it even more than Rampart's because you know it's all fake and he's a scumbag. Shout out to both VA's they do an incredible job.
Hemlock wants Crosshair to tell him how to find clone force 99 and Omega. Crosshair says he doesn't know where they are but Hemlock fires back saying Crosshair knows how they operate.
Crosshair says he doesn't know anything.
There is the interrogation Droid we were so worried about! Dang poor Crosshair 😕
Back on Coruscant :D
Riyo Chuchi!!!
Yes looks like Echo is going to find Tech so he can figure out the encryption on the Imperial data
Wow! Crosshair broke free!! Doubt he'll make it far.
Hemlock's assistant actually seems to care a bit. Still don't like her but she might not be all evil. Somethings up with her at least. Some people think she's a clone, idk.
Why are they giving me hope like this!? I know hes not going to make it out😫
Gasp! He's sending a signal! Plan 88!?
Crosshair: You have to hide, they're after-" oh no he's been gassed! He was warning the batch to hide. I hope it got out before they cut the signal.
Hemlock is a sicko
Back on Pabu.
Lol looks like Wrecker caught a big one lol a big fish.
Oh My Gosh! Tech teaching Omega how to fly again! And she is flying lmao 🤣 😂 he looks scared 😭 "pull up Omega, Up, UP!"
She's about to do the "Tech turn"
She did it! I love this😭 she went from "I can't hold it" in s1 to perfecting "Techyo drift" lmao. Honestly I'm loving how this season is showing us how much of a baddass Omega has and will become.
Also, loving the Tech and Omega moment 🥰
Omega sounding so excited to see Echo
Echo: I see you've been keeping up your training. Race you to the landing pad!
Tech: that's not a-
Omega: you're on!
🥰🥰🥰
Omega almost crushes some people landing. Better get out the way lol!
The running jump hug!!🥰😭
Looks like Hemlock has a meeting with Tarkin at the summit....
The batch has found out about the other clones being held prisoner. Also, that Hemlock was kicked out of the Republic scientist division because he's a sicko
They also find out about Crosshair.
They got his transmission. Plan 88, The Seeker. They know they are being targeted now. Crosshair is still trying to protect them🥲
Hunter: or its a trap, like he did before.
Wrecker: how do we find out?
Hunter, what are you about to do? The opposite of what Crosshair told you too?
Hemlock: just tell me where the girl is. She means nothing to you.
Crosshair: 🤐
He does care!🥲
The episode ends with Crosshair being tortured 🥺💔
THIS EPISODE WAS A FREAKING 10 OUT OF 10!!
It had everything. Action, plot, comedy, downtime, bonding moments, characters we missed, and angst.
No Phee, Cid, or Nala Se this episode. Which is kinda surprising, mostly for Cid. What's she been up to?🤨
Also Omega did not get kidnapped this episode surprisingly.
I'm so scared for Crosshair right now. I really hope the batch can rescue him before it's to late. I have know idea what Hemlock has planned for him. Like is he just going to keep torturing him with the Droid, or is he going to get tired of that and turn him into whatever he's doing with the other clones?
What are the batch going to do? Crosshair sent out plan 88. They know they should hide but they also know he's being held prisoner. I don't want them to leave him behind again but at the same time going after him puts them in extreme danger. They have to get him out though, I just hope they all make it out alive and together.
I am so excited and scared for the season finale! One more week to go guys! 😫 😥
