C'est quoi un DNS?

Une zone DNS, ou Domain Name System, est une partie fondamentale de l'architecture d'Internet qui permet de traduire les noms de domaine compréhensibles par les humains en adresses IP utilisées par les machines sur le réseau. Elle agit comme un annuaire, associant les noms de domaine à des adresses IP spécifiques, facilitant ainsi la résolution des requêtes réseau.

Plus précisément, une zone DNS est un ensemble de données qui contient des enregistrements DNS spécifiques pour un domaine particulier. Ces enregistrements incluent des informations telles que les adresses IP des serveurs de noms (DNS) autoritaires pour le domaine, les enregistrements de type A (Associant un nom de domaine à une adresse IP), les enregistrements de type MX (définissant les serveurs de messagerie pour le domaine), et d'autres informations cruciales pour la gestion du domaine.

La gestion d'une zone DNS est souvent déléguée à des serveurs DNS autoritaires, qui sont responsables de répondre aux requêtes DNS pour ce domaine spécifique. Ces serveurs peuvent être administrés par le propriétaire du domaine ou par des fournisseurs de services DNS.

En résumé, une zone DNS est une collection d'enregistrements DNS spécifiques pour un domaine, facilitant la résolution des noms de domaine en adresses IP, ce qui est essentiel pour la navigation sur Internet et la communication entre les différents dispositifs et services en ligne.

I go back and forth on whether I think Securité was the first time Minkowski and Eiffel hugged. Because on the one hand, I think that by the end of season 2 Minkowski and Eiffel are friends who are deeply important to each other, and that Eiffel is a physically affectionate person, and that Minkowski gives really good tight hugs when she wants to. And if Minkowski and Eiffel didn't hug before Securité, then it seems probable that neither of them would have hugged anyone at all in 864 days. 

But on the other hand, there are still emotional barriers between them by the end of Season 2. Eiffel isn't expecting Minkowski to hug him in Securité and he doesn't initiate a hug himself. And if you don't expect to hug your friend after you've been presumed dead in deep space for over 200 days, then when would you expect to hug them? 

Minkowski apologises after hugging Eiffel in Securité. And it's not completely clear if that is just for the tightness of the hug and the lack of warning, or if she's apologising for hugging him at all. Eiffel says "it's all right. Don't apologize for hugging", and that could mean it isn't a big deal because they've hugged before, or it could be giving her permission for a new way of interacting. He could be telling her that it's all right, they can be people who hug each other.

We don't know whether Minkowski and Eiffel ever hugged before Securité, but we do know that she carried him to the lab during his Decima attack in Do No Harm. We know that as he convulsed after collapsing, she told him "It's okay, I've got you", which I think implies she was holding him. And going all the way back to Cataracts and Hurricanoes, we know that when he nearly drowned in his spacesuit, she brought him inside. There's just something so emotional to me about the idea that before Securité, Minkowski might have only ever touched Eiffel in a gentle or affectionate way when he was unconscious and at risk of dying. And then, after he gets stranded on the shuttle, for a while she thinks he is dead, or as good as. He's lost in deep space where none of them can reach him. And when he returns, this time she grabs hold of him and she doesn't want to let go.

Each time I get a vaccine + the time I got my wisdom teeth removed, I always get told to be careful, to go home immediately and to watch put for the side effects.

Then in the end I get nothing. Just get the slight pain that is expected when you jet vaccinated and the restriction on food for the wisdom teeth. I got lucky.

I'm a big fan of the way that Gabriel Urbina often includes details within the Wolf 359 scripts that can't be directly translated into audio, for example: the "tears silently streaming down [Minkowski's] face" in Ep31 Securité; Eiffel being "wrapped up in a blanket" when telling Lovelace about his traumatic experience of feeling like he was turning into Minkowski in Ep32 Controlled Demolition; the way "Hera and Eiffel stand together, his arm around her shoulder" when confronting Pryce in the finale; the idea that Eiffel "salutes" Minkowski after his speech to her before the memory wipe... These details make reading the scripts an even more rewarding experience. 

But I do think there's an interesting question here about to what extent these details are canon. After all, when changes have been made in the dialogue between the script and the final recording, I only consider the dialogue that actually ended up in the episode to be canon, although the version in the script might still provide interesting insights. But with details in the scripts that are inherently not audible - and therefore never intended to be literally included in the episode itself - should we consider them to be canon, or bonus content, or Word of God, or simply a tool used in the recording process? 

I know that it is possible to have an entirely full experience of the show without ever reading a single bit of the scripts. The scripts are placed in the 'Extras' area of the show website. 

Obviously the primary purpose of the non-auditory script details is to inform the actors in their performances, and perhaps provide some considerations for sound design. When I read the scripts, I can often feel how the non-auditory script directions are reflected in the feel of the voice acting. 

But once I've noticed these script directions, I also can't help having them feed into my experience of the scene when listening, in a way that enriches the experience beyond purely the audio, and informs my understanding of these moments. The script directions tell us more about what the writer was envisioning for a scene.

I love sharing the script directions that feel significant to me, and when I do so, I feel like I'm sharing something more significant than a behind-the-scenes tidbit. I feel like I'm sharing further knowledge of what happened in that scene. The script directions feel like a true part of the show to me, more so than the comments the writers and actors have made in Q&As. To me, these non-auditory bits of the scripts feel like canon, but a slightly lesser form of canon than the episodes themselves. But I don't know if I can fully justify this view. I'd be interested to hear other people's thoughts.

In Securité, the way Lovelace’s voice cracks when she realizes Eiffel is alive, in relief and grief and guilt, along with anger at the thought that the SI-5 might have hurt him, and the way Minkowski hugs him so tightly he almost can’t breathe and according to the script, has “tears silently streaming down her face”.
