Was it casual when they made their touch telepathy two ways. so they can communicate when they’re holding hands. and proceed to hold hands the whole audio. Was it

Season 6B and Bigeneration
Okay, I was just lying in bed thinking about bigeneration and I had a thought.
What if the Second Doctor bigenerated into the Three at the end of the War Games?
Three doesn’t remember because his memory was messed with obviously.
I think it could work because the dirty work they need doing is done by an expendable off shoot of the Doctor.
And it explains how Two knew who Three was at the start of the Five Doctors and basically everything in the Two Doctors.
Plus now I can imagine a version where he settles down with Jamie
(I also headcanon that a bigenerated lifespan is drastically shorter than the 400-500 years a Gallifreyan usually lives in a life, about a human’s lifespan)

I find it hard to believe that Lisbon was so unbothered about conspiring to drug, abduct and torture a man. At the very least, I wish there had been some mention of it when she agreed to move to DC, like thinking going away will be better for her career or that she doesn't want to have to lie so much.
Among other things because, being honest, the less they emphasize that she's choosing Pike specifically as a rejection of Jane, the worse her decision to break things off in Blue Bird looks. Also, it would justify her choosing DC at the end of the ep. Simple storytelling — a character says they need to think about something, it's because they are conflicted about it, and it's up to the plot to solve that (internal and external conflict interacting). What was it that resolved that conflict for Lisbon? Nothing that we could see, because ultimately this season's biggest weakness is that it doesn't allow her much inner life and mostly treats her character as a tool to move along the romantic subplot. In this case, her insistence that she needed to time to think wasn't a set up to explore her thoughts, but a way to create suspense. They bring it up every once in a while to remind you that you need to worry about it, but there's no real progress. When there is, it's all external — Pike getting her that job, Cho encouraging (for no discernible reason, since she didn't even tell him what kind of job offer she got and he was already telling her it was a good opportunity). But what did LISBON think about? We don't know. We have to assume it's that she didn't want to leave Jane, I guess.

Okay now I’ve looked into the whole “Season 6B” thing and it’s extended history… my god. Russel T Davies really took literal decades of Extended Universe media and the closest thing to word of god you’ll probably ever get in the Doctor Who universe behind the shed and shot it stone cold dead huh.
#between this and the whole ‘I haven’t seen Susan since I left her in the future’ (glances at the events of to the death) thing#I am honestly kind of. angry?? at how little respect rtd seems to have for the extended universe#like. I understand that you cannot acknowledge and keep track of every single thing in the dw universe#while also writing satisfying stories for tv#it’s just impossible it can’t be done#however#there are some things that I feel if they are emotionally significant enough to a character or has been held to be collectively true#*have#for a very long time#and have been used as the basic premise for the work of many different writers and creators#as a creator myself#it just feels like insanely disrespectful to ignore all that? Y’know? Like to act like you’re the final authority on everything?#within a universe and continuity that has been forged with the fingerprints of thousands of people#idk. just feels like a dick move.#it’s probably also just because I’m a snobby eight fan but#I’m fine with the tv series ignoring / never referencing the edas or comics or whatever#just slap those bad boys in a parallel universe#but like. the audios? that’s like everything eight has other than a tv movie and a 10 minute special?#and you’re just going to say that one of the most devastating and significant things that happened to him. just. like.#didn’t occur??? hello???#I mean granted Moffat also kind of did this with the doctor’s wife in relation to the zagreus!tardis. but honestly.#I give everything pre-lucie miller a continuity slide anyway. shit got weird it was the wilderness years#I don’t care if they never acknowledge it.#anyway#this was about the second doctor? this was about the second doctor#the war games colourisation#the second doctor#season 6B#the war games

At like exactly 34 minutes and 30 seconds on Hulu, you can see a butt. Someone clearly wasn't paying attention while filming and later editing the scene. Happy hiatus. I present to you all the top of Oliver's butt. Enjoy!

Okay so I know “The Jigsaw War” doesn’t actually take place during season 6B but IMAGINE IF IT DID it’s actually the perfect story hello
Rambling & spoilers below the cut
1. The Set Up
As a companion chronicles story, this is obviously very Jamie centric. The opening reminded me a lot of “death of the Daleks” where Jamie is being interrogated, alone, by a newcomer who presumed he knows everything about - that he’s an accomplice to - the Doctor. In both of these scenarios the Doctor represented the threat to these strangers, and Jamie the key to defeating that. Which is already very much Jamie being a tool for manipulating the Doctor, as emphasized at the end of “world game” where the doctor agreed to carry on working for the CIA if he was allowed Jamie’s company.
2. Jamie Working
The main plot of Jamie having to work things out on his own, for his own freedom and for the Doctor, feels a lot like it could be a trend in the CIA throwing him in the deep end with 2. It shows how independent and adaptive he’s grown since he started traveling with the Doctor, how he has picked up bit of his personality. This is also mentioned later when Jamie is thought to have (in the future) attacked Moran and the Doctor insists that this is out of character for him because of who Jamie is and how he has changed.
The fact that the tasks Jamie has to fulfill/perform are time- & puzzle-based obviously adds to this, since he is jumping through time with disjointed memories and understanding. The Doctor is also for the most part off screen (?) because he is working on another aspect of the “threat” while Jamie is put to the test. So !! Hm !!
3. Jamie’s Faith
Jamie’s faith in the Doctor is of course put to the test but he still believes in him despite the risks. Obviously a big part of the recovery aspect of season 6B is jamie learning who the doctor is again and why he trusts him so much. In this audio he also risks many lives by putting this absolute faith in the Doctor. Also, because it’s told from Jamie’s perspective, and because that’s just how the plot is moving, the whole story hinges on the Doctor’s judgment: who needs his help, who is the threat, and his understanding of humans to a core—something the Time Lords despise but still very clearly need—through Jamie.
Another major part of the dialogue is the Doctor speaking through Jamie’s body because the “emotional connection” is “strong enough” where it would otherwise not have worked. So….I’ll leave that there. (Edit: I’m linking this to the touch telepathy bs now)
4. CIA interventions & measures
His interrogators ask who the doctor is working for, automatically assuming that he is an agent. The conversation goes like:
Which of course is a very obvious nod to when the Doctor will eventually take orders - unless he is already taking them. The only disagreeing thing in the audio is that a) the tardis crash landed as per usual on the Unheld system and b) Zoe is allegedly traveling with them. However the “accidental” landing on the Unheld could very easily be another lie. And if this were to take place around helicon prime etc Jamie wouldn’t actually remember Zoe (btw I have not yet listened to beyond war games/James Robert mccrimmon so I might edit this later). But that the main idea is stitched events and memories being experience out of chronology….etc. Also Zoe doesn’t actually make an appearance in the audio - the Doctor mentions her helping him while he’s in Jamie’s mind, but because Jamie can hear him it’s very possible that could have been for his sake alone.
Anyway there’s my. False hope. (I originally started this because I was struggling where to order the jigsaw war on my spreadsheet. I did end up opting for this:

Simply because the s6b thing is more of a guess and I want this to be only slightly more accurate than that. What was stopping me from putting anything between twg/space pirates was that Jamie is wearing the same exact shirt so it seemed like they would connect but the idea of him going continuously into the final serial felt wrong so I just changed it now)
Okay thanks for reading!

Big Finish Presents: Old Man Yaoi
Quick No Spoiler review: I think this is the best release so far of Big Finish's new Second Doctor Adventures with Michael Troughton.
Thankfully they didn't put another UNIT story on this box set. My memories of The Annihilators and Wrath of the Ice Warriors have blurred together in the months since I first listened to them.
