Season 6B and Bigeneration

Okay, I was just lying in bed thinking about bigeneration and I had a thought.

What if the Second Doctor bigenerated into the Three at the end of the War Games?

Three doesn’t remember because his memory was messed with obviously.

I think it could work because the dirty work they need doing is done by an expendable off shoot of the Doctor.

And it explains how Two knew who Three was at the start of the Five Doctors and basically everything in the Two Doctors.

Plus now I can imagine a version where he settles down with Jamie

(I also headcanon that a bigenerated lifespan is drastically shorter than the 400-500 years a Gallifreyan usually lives in a life, about a human’s lifespan)

I find it hard to believe that Lisbon was so unbothered about conspiring to drug, abduct and torture a man. At the very least, I wish there had been some mention of it when she agreed to move to DC, like thinking going away will be better for her career or that she doesn't want to have to lie so much.

Among other things because, being honest, the less they emphasize that she's choosing Pike specifically as a rejection of Jane, the worse her decision to break things off in Blue Bird looks. Also, it would justify her choosing DC at the end of the ep. Simple storytelling — a character says they need to think about something, it's because they are conflicted about it, and it's up to the plot to solve that (internal and external conflict interacting). What was it that resolved that conflict for Lisbon? Nothing that we could see, because ultimately this season's biggest weakness is that it doesn't allow her much inner life and mostly treats her character as a tool to move along the romantic subplot. In this case, her insistence that she needed to time to think wasn't a set up to explore her thoughts, but a way to create suspense. They bring it up every once in a while to remind you that you need to worry about it, but there's no real progress. When there is, it's all external — Pike getting her that job, Cho encouraging (for no discernible reason, since she didn't even tell him what kind of job offer she got and he was already telling her it was a good opportunity). But what did LISBON think about? We don't know. We have to assume it's that she didn't want to leave Jane, I guess.

I figured that since Theo won't be in the movie, and it's been a long time so everyone has their own life and is happy and blah blah blah, then Theo might have moved out of Beacon Hills too, is happy and has changed his life. Even if he's not with Liam, I hope Theo is happy somewhere in the world and that everything he's been through he's gotten over and he can live with himself not feeling guilty about his sister's death anymore. I only hope that Theo is happy because even after all he has done he did not deserve to suffer so much.

I just hope that he no longer sleeps inside his truck, that he has studied, gone to college and found someone who accepts him as he is and doesn't just use him as a weapon to fight evil people as he did with Scott's pack.

I hope he has found what he was looking for, a pack, a family, everything he was deprived of from an early age. I hope he's OK and that he hasn't destroyed himself with guilt, that he's happy, that he has love and that he has someone to fight for and not give up even if that's not Liam.

I just hope he's happy because he's a fantastic character, he's got a story that hasn't been developed much in the series but you can see how much he's suffered and how much he just wants someone to hold on to and not keep it all inside and slowly die from the suffering.

Although Jeff Davis most likely couldn't give a shit about Theo Raeken after they led us on and after they didn't even call Cody Christian.

Big Finish Presents: Old Man Yaoi

Quick No Spoiler review: I think this is the best release so far of Big Finish's new Second Doctor Adventures with Michael Troughton.

Thankfully they didn't put another UNIT story on this box set. My memories of The Annihilators and Wrath of the Ice Warriors have blurred together in the months since I first listened to them.

Starting to dig for S6B media

I just started tonight because I’m still rewatching The War Games. Maybe if I watch it 10 times I can squeeze all emotion from it and stop crying at ep9-10. Anyway, here’s what I’ve got so far for my personal mapping:

The War Games -> War Crimes which technically takes place during the War Games but it’s like in the middle of episode 10 so I would just read it after like any other media.

War Crimes -> Save Yourself -> World Game

I haven’t actually read World Game yet, since it’s a full PDA novel, but I did read Save Yourself from the target storybook collection. And just going into post-twg media with that frame in mind is wild and I love it and it will just sort of shadow every adventure I think. Because I haven’t actually listened to/read any full stories that take place during this “season” yet I have no idea if the core idea of the short story is carried out but I would like to think it is, maybe just because it’s awful. If we’re going in, then we’re going all in with the tears, probably.

And from “World Game” I’ve just placed the audios - Helicon Prime, Fear of the Daleks (counting this afterwards because it’s narrated by Zoe post-TWG) and then the misc stories (I think they’re all CC but I’ll have to check) followed by the second Doctor adventure

I’ll be yapping here with how it goes as I read/listen and change the general map on the spreadsheet :3

Nolan was one of the best characters that was introduced in season 6 and Thiam was the best ship. I wish Alec got more recognition, though. He was so freakin cool! Like he had so much potential!

yeah it's an absolute shame they added Nolan and Alec, and then we got nothing afterwards. a lot of the older characters had a great ending and then they could have explored Nolan and Alec (or at least given Alec a last name...)
