Timmy’s parents are so interesting to me in writing terms for the show. If you only watch season one you’ll see that while they are busy and neglectful they still love their son, and wanna be by his side. They’re a lot more close, especially as the whole found family aspect is not fully tapped in yet. They always tell Timmy they love him and his mom even defends him against his neighbors. It’s kinda a crazy thing to see when you’re used to them being super shitty. Then season two comes along, and we see his parents be a tiny bit more mean, but they still Love their son! They still take care of him, they’re just a bit less present for him. Then season 3, season 4, and it keeps going downhill. Even before we had the writing actually turn into shit his parents were actually getting worse. I think that’s a huge reason as to why most of us see Timmy’s parents as horrible, we saw the slow progression of both his mom and dad flat out ignore his needs and his fairy god parents loving him more and more. It’s almost needed this close bond to offset how his life is going more and more downhill. There’s always been problems in early FOP but it’s so fascinating how his parents are one of the earliest signs.
Season 5 is the true marker for the fairy odd parents writing, when we really see the writing go downhill but also when we see Timmy’s parents become their worst. They insult, neglect, belittle Timmy like never before. It’s also when we see Timmy’s fairy’s become the closest to Timmy (well it’s also a build up but still). Timmy’s parents while also a victim of bad writing have been doomed form the START!! Cause Timmy needed that miserable fuel to him, or else he would never get as close to Cosmo and Wanda as we see. If Timmy had good parents why would he keep Cosmo and Wanda for so long? I think that’s why we see them be horrible and worse as time goes on, cause as the show went on, they needed more factors to be miserable, and Vicky, francis, Crocker had only so much fuel.
I just find it interesting how out of all the characters who had a downfall, Timmy’s parents had it really early. It kinda signifies how shitty they always were, it was always just played for the whole cartoon humor bit of it. Compared to the new show, we’re instead of a character who has heavy external problems, she deals with ainxety and needs some extra support that hair parents are actually too busy to really provide/emotionally dense. But you don’t see anyone really hate on hazels parents, just cause it’s obvious they love her, while it gets less obvious for Timmy’s parents as time went on. Especially as Timmy’s life was more and more centered around Magic, his parents just, didn’t want to take the time to love him like they used too.

I'm not looking forward to season 3 of Blue Lock.
There will be good moments sprinkled here and there, like Bachira doing his monster thing, Chigiri stealing from Kaiser, Nagi and Reo getting re-married, but the Neo Egoist League Arc is way too long. It's gonna be like 25 full episodes, since the entire arc is over a hundred chapters long, and most of them will be Isagi beefing with Kaiser against players we don't care about.
Plus, all the matches are basically the same. Isagi's team wins every one, and he gets the final goal.
Also he calls Kaiser a bitch.
It's not that I hate Kaiser, I actually love him, I think he's the best character introduced in the NEL arc, it's just that the first arcs of Blue Lock knew not to focus on just one rivalry all the time.
We got new rivalries all throughout the First Selection.
We had an even dispersal of, ok Bachira's a new rival, now here's Kunigami, now here's Chigiri, now here's Nagi and Reo - these were all interesting characters who had space to breathe and develop personal relationships with our MC.
They all had matches where they got to shine as the main play makers. Kunigami got super goals. Bachira outdribbled an entire team on his own. Chigiri had the most epic First Selection moment, when he broke the chains weighing him down. Reo and Nagi were introduced as a demonic duo, and had an entire match to show how good they were together.
Even that side ass character Kuon had an interesting moment...hell, he had two. He fucked up two different games, betrayed his team, and then redeemed himself.
He wasn't even a major character, but he had a singular story to tell, that didn't rely entirely on the specific match he played in, or the goals he scored.
But the Neo Egoist League Arc is like...a rushed mess, that somehow managed to take up 40% of the entire manga at the same time.
It's got the dense, complicated character juggling of the U20 arc, except not good, lol. U20 had high stakes. It was intense, and every character was juggled, sure, but at least they all had their time to shine. That's 22+ characters who had to get some focus, plus the substitutions. I'd say Kaneshiro did a banger job of maintaining the tension, while still moving us around from person to person with consistency. But NEL?
The stakes were immediately lowered by the fact that winning the matches doesn't matter, scoring does.
And it like, cycles through every important character, gives them a single goal, and then proceeds on to the next player who needs to get a goal. Then it neglects that character for another twenty chapters.
There's no even pacing here.
And what's worse is that most of the players on these teams are...not that interesting. Karasu and Otoya, most of the European team members, who basically don't exist... I personally don't like Niko, who just does the same thing Isagi does, or Yukimiya (although at least Yukimiya's backstory is depressingly real, and kinda compelling, even if he himself isn't utilized that well).
I like Hiori, but Nanase and Kurona and Kiyora...I mean, they're kinda just there to give Isagi assists...
They're not quirky and weird and relatable like the freaks of First Selection. They don't get the time and spotlight they need for me to really care.
Like any of these characters could probably be great if the pacing was better, but... it's like the mangaka will just speed through a backstory before one of them passes to Isagi. And then that's it.
The only true spotlight is given to Kaiser or Isagi.
Now Isagi is the MC, so that's alright, although can I just say, he's kind of unlikable during the NEL arc, like, Jesus Christ, was he...awful when he was against Man City...if he hadn't apologized to Yukimiya...hmmm...and after an entire match of calling Nagi and Reo slurs too, lol...but I digress...
And Kaiser is good, he's great, but can you imagine how boring the First Selection arc would've been if it was entirely dedicated to Isagi just beefing with Barou?
Like come on.
It's basically just a glorified training arc, that abandons what made Blue Lock interesting in the first place, which is the high stakes, but then doesn't have the decency to at least still give us the great character drama that we've come to expect from BL.
And that's a shame.
It's also fucking ridiculous for a training arc to be so long.
God.
I hope it ends soon.
Please get back on track.

Todays rip: 19/06/2023
Become as Gadget
Season 2 Featured on: Inspector Gunner Also on: SiIvaGunner: Starter Kit & Essentials
Ripped by Bleep, wheel able, Solid STRGG
youtube
Though likely clouded by a lot of nostalgia, its long been my opinion that SiIva was at its most engaging during Season 2 and Season 3, due to how expertly rips and lore were woven together. Those who followed the channel live as it was uploading in 2017 will know exactly what I mean - almost every rip with a new joke gathered heaps of speculation over its importance to the lore, the profile picture and banners of the channel were always changing to reflect possible story events unfolding behind closed doors, and it just never ceased to surprise.
I don't think there's any better encapsulation of this excitement, this complete immersion into the state of the channel, than Become as Gadget. In the middle of the ongoing story of the Christmas Comeback Crisis, seemingly out of complete nowhere - the supposed villain of the story and at-that-time manager of the channel was dethroned by a bizarro version of famed cartoon character Inspector Gadget. And like a switch had been flipped, suddenly every single rip uploaded was an Inspector Gadget joke. This is what we'd usually call "Takeovers", but this one was different. There was no special anniversary being celebrated. After a day had passed, the takeover kept going. Two days. Three. Suddenly the description of the channel changed. The profile picture, banner. The Twitter account. Everything was being consumed by this demonic interpretation of Inspector Gadget as based on Mike Matei's all-time classic "Minecraft with Gadget". And in the midst of all this, Become as Gadget is uploaded.
And like, it's all still a joke, especially now looking back, right? Its a silly, basic punchline, mashing up super dramatic, emotional music, with a source as absurd and unserious as Minecraft with Gadget. But the emotions were at an ALL TIME HIGH for the channel when this was happening - I URGE you to check out the comments on this rip in particular to see what I'm talking about. Despite being six years old, there are comments as recent as this year still writing at length about how much this event, and this rip, hit them. At a point where the lore-to-rip engagement was at an alltime high, this 10-day stretch of nothing but Inspector Gadget felt haunting, like a curse placed upon the channel we all used to love so much.
This isn't even to mention the rip itself, which almost speaks for itself. Everyone on board making this rip did an immensely good job, be it from the ever-evolving and dramatic visuals to the actual mashup gradually escalating in gadget intensity, weaving in the core DNA of Nier Automata so densely into the rip itself...its a wonder to all see unfold.

20 questions for Writers!
been tagged by @sinvulkt in this awesome Tag game! thanks a lot!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Currently, I have a 19 works on AO3, working on making it 20 by the end of this month
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
Im at 131,179 words. Considering I have a few smaller works it makes sense
3. What fandoms do you write for?
I mainly write in the Star Wars fandom and Hetalia (but as of now solely fics that feature my APH Québec OC) But I have fics in the Good Omens fandom, Heathers the Musical, Five Nights at Freddy's Loki (TV), and I am currently writing a Harry Potter longshot
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Ring of Fire, the first part of my Deserter Darth Vader AU
What Are You Waiting For, a tragic Heather Chandler/Veronica Sawyer fic
Whatever's still to come, my Elizabeth Afton Lives au in the FNAF fandom
More beautiful than flowers... , a FrUK fic with lots of flower language.
Truth for the Daughter, where Leia finds out who Anakin Skywalker used to be in my Deserter Darth Vader AU
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I always try to respond to my comments, since I don't get so many, they are always welcome. I enjoy the feedback and the compliments, and I always want to respond! <3
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
What Are You Waiting For is definitely up there, considering one of the character of the main pairing is dead from the start.
I also have two super short fics in french about my Hetalia OC Québec that I consider gut wrenching, but they haven't been read much
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
The World We Knew, my Good Omens fix it fic after the devastating season 2 finale. it definitely has a lot of angst in it too, but the ending is pure fluff!
8. Do you get hate on your fic?
It has never happened, but at the same time I'm not a big author either.
9. Do you write smut?
I tried once, didn't go through with it. It was for a FrUK fic, which I didn't really like and deleted.
10. Do you write crossovers?
Before posting on AO3, it happened, it was a Marvel characters in Hogwarts thing.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
No, but once again, I'm not very well known.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I wish!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic?
Yeah, the Marvel at Hogwarts thing a lifetime ago. And also a historical fiction that never got posted anywhere.
14. What‘s your all-time favourite ship?
Oooh that's a tough one! It varies like each months or so. I think I haven't even written much for it directly, but Anidala!
15. What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
My FNAF fic. I have a super long and detailed AU outline with complexe character growth and tons of family angst with the Afton and Lizzy eventually taking over Fazbear Entertainement, but I lack time. In the meantime, I made a few artworks of it under the tag elizabeth afton lives au if you are interested.
16. What’s your writing strengths?
I'd say the inner monologue and the highly emotional scenes. I love to delve on the psyche and add parallels that hurt just write and use gut wrenching metaphors.
17. What’s your writing weaknesses?
Highly action dense scenes. I struggle with the pacing because I picture it clearly in my mind and can't put it into words.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
It can be nice, but considering that sometime I see it with my own language, French, and with considerable mistakes, it can be annoying. I'd avise to contact someone who speaks that language a bit to crossverify google translate, that's much more fun for speakers
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Surprisingly enough, BBC Sherlock. The fic was on Wattpad and I haven't reposted it, it was a bit mid not going to lie.
20. Favourite fic you’ve ever written?
Not very controversial take, my favourite fic I've ever written is Truth for the Daughter. I've written it in the kitchen, with my own step-dad checking up on me as I struggled with some scenes. It may be full of father-daughter angst but it was written with a lot of father-daughter love. It is dedicated to my step-dad, who passed away last year because of that, and so is Interlude: A son and his father , which I completed not long before his passing. These parental fics just hold a special place in my heart <3
Well this was nice!
To conclude, I'd like to tag : @dreamingamongthestars @yaqamole @claralarmclock @phe-oh-no and any other author mutual I might have forgotten!!

Trek to Andharban Valley: Tips for an Epic Journey!
Are you craving an adventure that combines scenic beauty, thrilling challenges and a sense of mystery? Then Andharban trek should be on your list. It is located in the Sahyadri range of Maharashtra.
Andharban Valley offers you a unique trekking experience. Thinking about it? It takes you through dense forests, across gushing streams, and along misty trails. Here’s everything you need to know about this epic journey! We are also providing you with some handy tips to make the most of your trek.
What is the Andharban Trek?
The Andharban trek is a descent trek that begins in the village of Pimpri and ends in Bhira. The name “Andharban” translates to “dark forest”. It is fitting as much of the trek takes you through thick, shaded forest trails. This trek is especially popular during the monsoon season. Wondering Why? This is when the entire valley comes alive with lush greenery, waterfalls, and the enchanting sounds of nature.
The Route
The Andharban trek route is approximately 13 kilometres long. It takes 5–6 hours to complete, depending on your pace. The trail is well-marked. It begins with a gradual descent from an elevation of about 2,160 feet. It winds through dense forest, over streams, and alongside stunning waterfalls. The route offers you super-spectacular views of the Kundalika Valley, Tamhini Ghat and the Bhira Dam.
Trekking Difficulty Level
One of the reasons why the Andharban jungle trek is so popular among trekkers of all levels is its moderate difficulty. The trekking difficulty level here is not too challenging. It is suitable for beginners, yet it’s long enough to satisfy more experienced trekkers. The trail does involve walking on uneven terrain, crossing streams, and navigating slippery paths, especially during the monsoon season. However, with the right preparation, it’s an accessible trek for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness. So, come on! Give it a try! You would feel fantastic for sure!
Flora and Fauna
The Andharban Valley is a biodiversity hotspot. As you trek through the dense jungle, you’ll encounter a wide variety of flora. This includes numerous species of ferns, mosses, and wildflowers. The fauna includes a rich diversity of birds, butterflies, and small mammals. For nature lovers and photography enthusiasts, this trek offers ample opportunities to capture the beauty of the Sahyadri ecosystem. So, get ready with your cameras! Capture captivating moments!
Best Time to Visit
The Andharban jungle trek can be undertaken throughout the year. But the best time to visit is during the monsoon season, from June to September. During this period, the valley is at its most beautiful, with lush greenery, flowing waterfalls, and mist-covered trails. The post-monsoon months of October and November are also a good time to visit if you prefer drier trails and clearer skies. What time do you prefer? Of course! Book a trip at that time for Andharban!
Tips for an Epic Andharban Trek
To ensure that your Andharban trek is not only enjoyable but also safe, here are some essential tips:
1. Start Early
Begin your trek early in the morning to make the most of the daylight. Do you agree? This will allow you to take your time, enjoy the scenery and avoid the afternoon heat. Plus, starting early gives you a better chance of encountering the local wildlife in their natural habitat.
2. Stay Hydrated
The trek can be physically demanding, especially during the monsoon season when humidity levels are high. Carry at least 2 litres of water per person to stay hydrated throughout the journey. Obviously! You should stay hydrated!
3. Pack Light
Keep your backpack light with only the essentials. Overpacking can slow you down and make the trek more tiring. Focus on carrying water, snacks, a rain jacket, and a first aid kit. Valid point, right?
4. Wear Suitable Clothing
Opt for quick-dry, moisture-wicking clothing. Long sleeves and pants are advisable to protect against insects and thorny bushes. A good pair of trekking shoes with a strong grip is essential, especially on slippery trails. Yes! I could see you agree with me!
5. Respect the Environment
Andharban is a pristine natural environment. Carry all your trash back with you, and avoid picking plants or disturbing the landscape. Practising “Leave No Trace” principles ensures that the trek remains beautiful for future visitors. Now, you are a Nature conservative agent!
How to Reach Andharban
The starting point of the trek is in Pimpri. It is well-connected by road. If you’re travelling from Pune or Mumbai, you can reach Pimpri via private vehicle or local buses. The trek ends in Bhira. From here you can arrange for a vehicle to take you back to your starting point or onward to your next destination. You know the A to Z about Andharban. So you should start packing up! It’s getting too gorgeous there in Andharban! Hurry up and visit there ASAP!
Conclusion
The Andharban trek offers an incredible mix of adventure, natural beauty, and tranquillity. Whether you’re an experienced trekker or a beginner, this trek will leave you with unforgettable memories. So pack your bags, follow these tips, and get ready to embark on an epic journey through the heart of the Sahyadris!

Alright, process time. This one will be mostly pictures with short explanation blurbs, so no need to skim read too much, but in case you are I’ll try to bold the essentials. Set your ovens to 350 and let’s go.
I’m constructing my casseroles in these two personal sized Dutch ovens, but whatever you have that will survive your oven works
First add your hardest ingredients, whatever requires the most consistent heat to cook, because this is going to continue cooking for you as it sits. I like my carrots boiled and canned levels of soft, so they go in first, and don’t forget to season any layers that you didn’t season prior to putting in the pot. Also, don’t forget to get your finger in the picture so you can stress about Tumblr autoflagging you.
Next is your less exciting/softer filler. I pre-roasted my potatoes on a sheet pan until they were still just a little underdone, because they can take up a lot of time cooking otherwise.
Next, binding agent. If you’re going for authentic midwestern taste this is the ideal time to smother this bitch with cheese. That bag was like 2.5-3 cups of cheese at the start, I ended the recipe with half a cup.
Next, your thesis layer. If there’s meat in your casserole, this is where you’ll usually put it. If you have a lot more of one ingredient than the other, you can break it up with a layer of your binding agent so that it doesn’t overpower every other flavor. I tenderized, precooked, and minced my chicken so the pieces are easy to mix in your bites, I find big hunks of meat get tough easily in casseroles and break up the flow too much.
Next, you start on your liquids. I sort of fucked myself by densely packing deep dishes, so you can tell that my initial layer of probably 90-10 cream of chicken and stock didn’t penetrate very far, so I kept about a quarter of it back, and for a little extra flavor added the drippings from the sheet pan I precooked the chicken and potatoes on. I realize it looks gnarly, but I promise it adds a lot to the taste and if I remember right the fats on lean meats are good for you? I’m not a nutrition scientist though, don’t take my word on that.
I completed this whole thing by mixing a bunch of heavy cream and stock into the soup mixture and pouring as much as I could into each dish, topping with cheese. I realize it looks pretty anemic now, but hang in there if yours looks a little iffy, it’s a part of the casserole process for it to go into the oven ugly.
Alright, those go uncovered into the oven, and because carbs, especially dumplings, often break down unappealingly when mixed into a casserole I am making a dummy broth to cook them in, doing this instead of just cooking in water is really essential for absorbent items like dumpl and egg noodles.
Alright in the 10-ish minutes I’ve been cooking dumpl these are now golden and bubbly and appetizing, as we all aspire to be.
Now I crown them with dumpl and they are ready to eat! A bracing meal after a long day, and super easy, especially if you have the major components just laying around in the form of leftovers.
The spirit of my midwestern upbringing has taken me over, I must make,,, the casserole

Clay-Busting Plants to Fight Soil Compaction
If you're like me and struggle with clay soil, these 5 clay-busting plants will work through your heavy soil to loosen, aerate, and enrich it with organic matter. Use these annual plants as a cover crop or interplanted among your other crops.
1. Artichoke, Cynara scolymus
Artichokes grow deep, sturdy taproots that break through heavy clay soil. They also make a great plant to chop and drop as mulch and add lots of organic matter to benefit your soil. Artichokes come in both annual and perennial varieties, but short-season annual varieties will grow quickly and yield a harvest of edible flower buds from mid-summer to mid-fall. Harvest the buds and then chop and drop the entire plant in place, leaving the roots to decompose. Note: Artichokes are related to thistles and the plants are spiny so wear gloves when handling them!
2. Daikon Radish, Raphanus sativus
Daikon radish is an amazing clay-busting vegetable since they push up to 24 inches into the soil! Sow in spring, summer, or fall and harvest some for eating about 50 days later. Let the ones you don't harvest grow until they flower (the flowers attract beneficial insects!) and die back. Once they've died back just chop them off at ground level and let them break down. As your daikon radishes rot they break up the clay and build up humus!
3. Cowpea, Vigna unguiculata
Cowpeas or black-eyed peas have vigorous, dense, fibrous roots that work to break up your clay soil. They're also nitrogen fixers and enrich the soil! Sow in the spring as a summer cover crop. Cowpea's quick growth helps suppress weeds and the flowers attract beneficial insects! If you want to eat your cowpeas (you can harvest them fresh like green beans or let the pods dry to harvest them for soup beans) cut them back in the fall and let them break down. If you want to grow cowpeas for maximum soil benefits through root growth and nitrogen content, cut the plants back while they're still flowering and before they set pods. Or do some of both!
4. Mustard, Brassica spp.
Mustard is a superstar for clay-busting thanks to it's massive, fibrous root system. Mustard also produces TONS of biomass, making it a great chop and drop green manure/mulch. It also helps to suppress soil-borne pathogens! The leaves, flowers, and seeds are edible and chickens love it too. *If you don't want mustard spreading, timing is super important because it will disperse vigorously if you allow it to go to seed. Cut mustard back before it seeds, while it's still flowering and incorporate the plant matter into the soil. Mustard also has an allelopathic effect so wait about 3 weeks after chopping to plant new crops in it's place.
5. Annual Sunflower, Helianthus anuus
Even cheery sunflowers will bust up your clay soil! They make a great cover crop especially when you choose varieties that don't need to be staked, they'll grow deep vigorous roots into compacted soils. Sunflowers also attract HUNDREDS of varieties of insects and are a great choice for both the maintained garden and natural areas. Cut the plants back in the winter, leaving the roots to decompose in the soil. Sunflowers have an allelopathic effect so it's important to let them decompose over the winter before you plant in spring.
What else can you do to bust up clay?
Broadfork: The broadfork is a great tool for hand tilling (and much more gentle than regular tilling). Use the broadfork when the soil is dry and work backwards so you don't step on and re-compact the loosened soil.
Digging Fork: The digging fork is great for long term maintenance of your clay soil. Use it to poke holes in the garden to help aerate the soil every spring and fall.
Soil Amendments: Once the soil is loosened up, add soil amendments so the rain can wash them in. Lots of organic matter is needed for clay soils: compost, green manure, leaf mold, biochar, worm casings, and greensand are all good options!
Cover Crop or Mulch: Bare clay soil = compaction. After you've loosened the soil and added soil amendments, keep that beautiful soil covered! Sow your crops or add shredded leaves, alfalfa hay, or straw (just make sure it's not contaminated by herbicide!!) as mulch.

Anime I Watched This Summer
Summer 2020 has officially come to a close. It’s fall in Animal Crossing and the trees are beginning to turn. Much like quarantine, I spent a lot of my free time watching anime when I wasn’t stressing over starting college. Now that the school year has begun, I thought it would be nice to reflect on everything I’ve watched!
These Anime were seen between 6/14 - 8/31 (my Birthday!) and are listed in chronological order.
They will be rated on a 1-10 scale; 1 meaning complete garbage, 10 meaning masterpiece. I will offer my thoughts on what I did/didn't like about each show!
1. Bakemono no Ko - 8/10
This was such a great way to start out the summer! I love the dynamic between Kumatetsu and Ren. Overall its a little cliche, but it’s also very wholesome. It’s by the same studio that made Wolf Children (which I loved!). so I knew it was going to be good. My favorite aspect of this movie was its backgrounds and world building!
2. Wan Sheng Jie - 9/10
Oh my gosh! I know that this is technically a donghua, but its on MAL, so it counts. This show quickly became my favorite slice of life of all time. I adore the art style and all of the characters. The comedy, plot, and design blends so well together. Everything in Wan Sheng Jie feels warm and comfy. It’s also confirmed for a second season! After seeing its cliff hanger ending, I’m so anxious for what comes next!
3. Dororo - 7/10
I’ll be honest, I’m a sucker for studio MAPPA. I really liked the historical aspects of Dororo. From the outfits to the ways characters behave, its grounded in the constraints of feudal Japan. I would have given this show a higher score if it was a little more grounded in science. I feel like more time should’ve been given to the demons and antagonists of the show. Our MC was so over powered, which made the final fights of the series more lack-luster. I think its less of the anime’s fault and more because the original source material is from the 60s. That being said, I loved this show! It was cute and action packed. Though it isn’t perfect, it holds its own.
4. Bungou Stray Dogs - 5/10
The concepts and action are misconstrued in Bungou Stary Dogs. This is one of those shows that I chose to watch because it was all over Tumblr. The powers themselves are cool, but I can’t understand why this series is so praised. At it’s core its predictable and basic. The fights seemed low stakes and low energy. None of the humor really felt like it belonged. It tried too hard to be something it isn’t. I don’t think I’ll watch beyond this first season.
5. Kami no Tou - 4.5/10
First off, fuck Rachel, me and my homies hate Rachel. I really really had high hopes for Tower of God. It paves the way for Webtoon adaptations in the future. Its such a shame that this adaptation SUCKED. I have not read the source material, I’m going solely based on the anime. It wasn’t good? It was horrible. I hate Bam, I hate Rachel. I think all the characters expect Rak were awful. Please don’t make a season 2. Please. If you’re interesting in Tower of God, just read the webtoon.
6. Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun - 7/10
Shoujo anime is my guilty pleasure. I especially liked the way Gekkan Shoujo tackled Sakura and Nozaki’s relationship. Besides just the main characters, even the side characters were enjoyable! It was a fun and creative show. My only complaint is how dense Nozaki is, but I also absolutely love that part of him.
7. Jojo no Kimyou no Bouken (Parts 1-2) - 6.5/10
Jojo is not the saving grace of shounen anime. It isn’t something super revolutionary and it certainly will never be a 10/10. Part 1 was so slow and boring. Jonathan was just mediocre at best. I definitely liked Joseph a LOT more than Jonathan. Part 2 overall was much easier to watch than part 1. The fights are good, but there’s just something about Jojo that I can’t get behind. Although I’m completely bashing this series, I’m going to keep watching it. At this point, I wanna know what a stand is.
8. Clannad - 5.5/10
I was expecting Clannad to be sad, but instead I got a cute, slice of life, romance. It wasn’t unenjoyable, but it was also a pretty slow-burning show. I loved watching Nagisa and Okazaki slowly fall in love with each other. It was funny at times and sad at other points. I am currently watching Clannad: After Story (which I’ve heard is heartbreaking), so I’m hoping to get some catharsis out of that.
9. Otome Game no Hametsu Flag shika Nai... - 6/10
This show is only 12 episodes, and yet it still has filler episodes for some reason? I’m a person who doesn’t typically watch isekai because the genre is so over done. However, when it’s done in a very specific way it’s really fun to watch! This show was definitely a lot of fun, it’s also cute and has so many interesting character-character interactions. The ending is painfully cliche, but I think it adds to this shows charm.
10. Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen - 8/10
I loved Love is War so much! I love their weird romantic dynamic. I love the characters, and I love the animation. It’s over the top and executes it humor masterfully. The entire show fills you with anticipation for the two main characters. Kaguya is my favorite character. Although I haven’t seen season two yet, I most certainly will! I’m so upset I hadn’t seen this show sooner.
11. Great Pretender - 8.5/10
This show is so colorful and bubbly. The animation is so smooth and they are able to tackle so many different kinds of things given its plot. The whole show itself just feels like summertime. It came out not to long ago, so some people may not be familiar with it. On top of the show itself, the music is great, with a Jazzy OP and and ED that features Freddie Mercury
12. Steins;Gate 0 - 8/10
I loved the original Stein;Gate so much! So it’s no surprise how much I liked the second season. It builds significantly off the first season in a sort of “off shot” OVA kind of way. The events of Steins;Gate 0 don’t actually happen, but that doesn’t stop it from being meaningful. The big “twist” was predictable and a bit of a let down, but I still enjoyed this. Granted, I’m bias.
13. Seishun Buta Yarou wa Yumemiru Shoujo no Yume wo Minai - 9.5/10
I sobbed. So much. This movie was phenomenal, it was such a trip. Having watched the original series, this tore my heart apart. It gets a high score for being able to take the characters I love and creating a wonderfully emotional experience. If you haven’t seen Bunny Girl Senpai, please watch it, and then watch this movie. You won’t regret it!
14. Hotaru no Haka - 6/10
Grave of the Fireflies made me stop watching anime for a while. Studio Ghibli created something grim, something that leaves the viewers feeling hollow. Its a movie about WWII from Japan’s perspective. As an American, all I could feel while watching this was immense guilt. I will say though, that some of the movies main plot could have easily been prevented if the main character had swallowed his pride. His younger sister was also my least favorite character. I get that she’s a kid and that kids are fussy, but you would think that during wartime, she’d be more understanding and at least try to eat the things she dislikes.
15. Yagate Kimi ni Naru - 9/10
This was a great way to end the summer. This is more that just GL romance, its a love story. Its about growing up and learning to understand your feelings. I related to Yuu so much, which made this more emotional than I expected. It’s really unlike another romance anime I’ve seen. I hope it gets confirmed for a second season. If not, I’ll be reading the manga.
Seasonal Shows: (Things that are still airing as of 9/5/2020)
1. The God of High School 7.5/10
Another thing done by studio MAPPA. Are you surprised? I absolutely love the action in GoH. The plot however, is all over the place. The story seems fragmented and hard to follow. Like Tower of God, it was poorly adapted. I’m giving it such a high score, because it’s SO much more enjoyable then Tower of God.
2. Enen no Shouboutai: Ni no Shou - 4/10
My thoughts on season 2 are about the same as my thoughts on season 1. The only difference is that this season has more Jojo references. I’ve rated it lower because its so repetitive. I’m so sick of watching it, but I’ve got to see it through the bitter end.
3. Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu 2nd Season - 8.5/10
All I’m going to say about Re:Zero is that I love it. I can’t give an accurate review of it because I’ve been hyping this season since it was announced. If you’re into non-typical isekai, watch Re:Zero, its so enjoyable!

your food asks always make me so happy SO WHAT DO YOU THINK THE GANG (and your robot husbands) FAVORITE CHRISTMAS-TIME TREATS??
AWE FUCK <3333 IM SO SOFT THIS IS ADORABLE
SFW BELOW
tw : food and baking mentions!! Also brief alcohol mention!!
WEEEE THIS IS GONNA BE FUN <333
Reagan
Christmas was never that big?? Like Rand wasn't a great cook it was usually just,, going out to eat, if anything.
<3 she really likes chocolates though - like specifically chocolate truffles? She always buys herself one of those big La Suissa chocolate box-bags to munch <33
OH HER FAVORITE IS HAZELNUT CHOCOLATES <333 she'd probably adore Ferrero Rocher <3
Brett
WHAT DOESN'T HE EAT DURING THE HOLIDAYS-
LISTEN BAKING IS HIS HAPPY PLACE <333 HE COLLECTS RECIPES AND BAKES CONSTANTLY.
plus then <333 his house smells like christmas, its fantastic <333 all the sugary goodness
if he had to pick, its gotta be a classic! Chocolate Chip Cookies <333 with these Big Chunks of dark + milk chocolate?? Like the cookies are MASSIVE and GOOEY and you feel full after eating like,, half of one BUT HE LOVES THEM <333
Gigi
MOUSSE CAKE, MACARONS, JUST,, ALL BAKED GOODS. Wheat and Butter and Sugar can never go wrong <33
She loves super dense, fudge-y desserts?? Like cake so dense and fluffy and buttery that it feels like your mouth is being cemented shut.
she has a tradition of stopping by this,, Small Bakery near where she used to live and buying WAY TOO MUCH LMAO.
She goes in for one, maybe two things and gets distracted because,, who can say no to fresh baked eclairs that just popped out of the oven <3
<3333 her favorite is this,, Super Dense Cheesecake?? She can feel her arteries closing up, its decadent. She coats it in Raspberry Sauce and Ganache and has never looked happier.
Glenn
<3333 you wouldn't guess it but he's very good at baking - as the youngest, he was too young for a long time to go out with his Siblings to their parties so instead he'd watch his mum cook!!
<3 usually its either pumpkin or sweet potato pie??? The farmers down the road always had them for cheap so his mum would snag a few for both christmas and halloween!!!
IF NOT THEN <333 yule log yule log he swears his mother used to put crack in there bc,, no matter what he does he can't make it taste the same as hers!!
he's also a sucker for cider <3 he purposefully stops by a local orchard to pick out apples and makes it himself!!!
Andre
TURKISH DELIGHTS <3333 some of his only happy memories of Christmas were when him and his siblings would make towers out of them while waiting for dinner to finish cooking <33
SO NOW HE JUST MUNCHES THEM DURING THE HOLIDAYS BC,, IT GIVES HIM THAT NICE COZY FEELING. No nuts or anything inside, just plain sugar-dusted Rosewater Turkish Delights <333
On that note he'd probably like any,, gummy candies. Like not specifically christmas but he'll absolutely be munching down on some Gummy Bears and Jellybeans during the holidays <33
Myc
I HC that he eats kinda like a Gelatinous Cube?? Like he just Shoves it into his orb hard enough and it,, pops through and disolves?? Not directly associated to this ask but,, Yknow lmao
<333 HARD CANDYYYYY. Especially like,,
this is one of the rare moments he'll swap into a human form to eat smth because,, the experience of shoving a bunch of Ribbon Hard Candy into his mouth and crunching is fantastic.
OH FUCK,, he'd totally love like,, Liquor Hard Candy?? <3333
JR
I don't know why but he strikes me as a Mincemeat Tart kinda guy?? Its the only thing that he goes out of his way to get during the holidays <33
Alternatively if he's feeling super nostalgic and wants to wallow in self pity, he'll go to that Dinner him and Rand used to go to.
Back before Rand got hitched, that was their christmas tradition?? They usually worked through the holiday season to get a leg up on Other Shadow Organizations and stuff but,,, after everything was finished up?? They'd head to the diner and order a Massive Cherry Pie to celebrate a good year. (yes JR always footed the bill but its still one of his last good memories of Rand)
AB
THIS IS ALL CONSIDERING HE UPGRADED HIS MOUTH TO BE ABLE TO TASTE OKAY? OKAY
he says he ''''''DoESn'T LiKe cAnDY''''' but he's still gonna get caught sneaking mints from the Sweets Bowl <3
ITS,, Cold-Sugary?? The flavor of mint is just <33 he adores mint and Christmastime means he's completely surrounded by it.
I love the idea of him having a massive sweet tooth but being too Prideful to admit it, so he just,,, steals baked goods and candies from ppl at random intervals. Little bastard <3
#GUH <333 all of them spending the holidays together???#like at Brett's place bc its massive??#AB myc and andre all catch eachother trying to sneak into the kitchen and steal some of Brett's cookiedough to munch on early#a silent bond of Christmas Food Thieves#gigi will straight up make Buttercream Icing and eat it with a spoon <3 BECAUSE THAT IS EVERYONES DREAM and Gigi will live that dream#idk why i like the idea of AB having a massive sweet tooth but being too High and Mighty to admit it?? idk it feels cute <33#brett spends most of the 23rd baking and some of the 24th <333 nobody is allowed in the kitchen except maybe reagan if he needs a hand lmo#christmas#holiday season#food tw#alcohol tw#brett hand#gigi thompson#andre lee#myc#magic myc#reagan ridley#glenn dolphman#alpha-beta#robotus alpha-beta#jr scheimpough#GHUH THIS WAS SUPER CUTE <33 WHAT THE FUCK#sfw#fluff#ab also eats mint chocolate chip iceycream on christmas <333 and andre thinks hes nuts bc Who Eats Cold Shit On Christmas >:( What The Fuck#sndsmnd he thinks it should be a crime#GUH <333 Brett making Reagan hand-made chocolate truffles bc he knows she likes them?? sobs loudly#inside job#ab and myc both love the sensory experience of Crunching Hard Candy thats their solidarity smdnsmd#nonbinary solidarity they both love Breaking Their Teeth On Liquor Drops

For Kerra’s 1st Birthday
So. You know how sometimes we imagine animatics in our heads that we never make? I did that, but I was picturing it in such detail that I wrote it down. I still don’t have the skills to animate or draw it, but I figured it might be a good birthday present for Kerra. :)
I’m a couple weeks or so late (very sorry, Ker!), but I’m counting it as her first birthday present. I’ve been playing this game for over a year now, which isn’t long compared to a lot of you, but I’ve definitely fallen in love with it, and I appreciate the community here on Tumblr, no matter how big it might or might not be. Thanks for a great first year, everyone. Love you guys, seriously <3
(I don’t know if this is going to be something other people are super interested in reading or not, but if you are, go for it--it’s under the cut! :) The song is Dirt Around The Tree by Candi Carpenter, and you can listen to it here or on Spotify if you want. Thanks again, folks. I appreciate you a lot.)
[Introductory music plays over brief intro text. Just before the beginning of the song, the text fades to dense clouds.]
I was born in the fall
[The clouds clear, revealing Caledon. The camera/POV swoops through quickly in the direction of the Grove, with various recognizable places there visible as it does so.]
The season when everything is dying
[Camera continues its swoop. If we look closely, we can see that it’s winter, or at least sometime cool, in Caledon. There’s no snow, but there’s frost, and many trees are missing leaves. Farms and gardens are bare.]
We must know what we're in for
[Camera enters the Grove, skirting past the trunk of the Pale Tree and slowing down by pods of not-yet-awakened sylvari. It settles on one.]
That's why we come into this world crying
[The pod splits open, and Kerra falls out. Nearby sylvari try to help her up, but she scrambles in an uncoordinated fashion to her feet, calling out Caithe’s name.]
My mother always told me life's not fair
[The Pale Tree in the Omphalos Chamber, arms open wide, eyes closed. On the word “life”, the camera cuts to Kerra in “Beneath a Cold Moon”, fighting Tiachren. On “not”, the camera cuts to Kerra standing over bodies, next to Caithe and various Wardens. One of the bodies is Tiachren’s. On “fair”, the camera cuts back to the Omphalos Chamber, but this time to Kerra alone. Caithe and Aife are just barely in the image (their shoulders at most), but the focus is on Kerra’s face—troubled and grieving but not quite crying.]
That's probably why I ran away
[The camera spins back around so that we see Kerra looking at the Pale Tree. This time, she’s flanked by the three sylvari order reps, and Cai—the rep from the Order of Whispers—is holding her hand out. Kerra looks down at it. On “why”, the camera cuts to just their hands, clasped in a handshake. On “ran,” the camera cuts to Kerra and Tybalt on the mission to rescue Demmi. They’ve just opened the door to the room where Demmi was locked up, and Kerra’s holding her hand out to Demmi.]
I don't think that I felt safe at home
[Camera zooms in on Kerra’s hand, going to brush her hair-leaves back. When it zooms back out, we see Kerra sitting next to Rel. They’re on the beaches of the Weeping Isle, and her mouth is open, like she’s saying the song lyrics. She’s more in silhouette here than a clear picture, and the focus is on Rel’s face. His forehead is furrowed as if in concern.]
And I don't think that's ever gonna change…
[Kerra’s face comes into clearer focus, still mouthing the words, but this time she looks straight into the camera for a second. As the camera pans around her head, the landscape behind her changes to an airship. She starts to turn away from the camera on the word “ever”, and by “change”, she’s facing away, and we can see her standing at the front of an airship alongside Destiny’s Edge, flying to confront Zhaitan. Kerra’s wearing a long coat now, brown with just-visible green embroidery, and it flaps in the breeze.]
Tell me, what's at the root of all my guilt and anger?
[The image blurs as the camera zooms towards the ground and under it. We see roots, twisting and shifting, twining together.]
What's in the dirt around the tree?
[The camera pans up, more slowly this time so the image is clear. We exit the ground, passing through the levels of the Grove, ending on the plaza in the center where the Pale Tree’s leaves spiral up towards the Omphalos Chamber.]
Heartbreak runs in the family
[Three images. The first is the Pale Tree, eyes down and half-closed. She looks pained. On “runs”, the image shifts to Caithe, with shiny eyes and a shadowy Faolain behind her, side by side with Trahearne, who’s holding Caladbolg with a gaze that’s both tired and far away. On “family”, the image shifts to Kerra, still in the same outfit from the airship, but with a dark background. Her eyes are wide and unsure.]
That's why I'm still running from me.
[The camera zooms out to show two Kerras, now, separated by just enough distance that they’d have to move closer to touch (so maybe a couple meters or so). The first is Kerra as a sapling, in her sylvari armor, and the second is Kerra in her airship outfit. They each look at the camera. On the word “running”, they turn to each other. On “me”, the second Kerra turns away and takes a step away from the first.]
[On the instrumentals, Kerra steps from the black void into the snow, her bow on her back and Felix beside her. She looks worn and tired, her coat torn. She walks from there into a house with Nisha (with a stack of letters), and she smiles. When she leaves the house, her wardrobe changes from brown to blue, and she walks into Southsun, facing Canach and then meeting with him in his cell after. Other images flow after, briefly—her and Dragon’s Watch facing Scarlet, then the party with the nobles, then facing Aerin. Finally, it settles on them all together before the summit, waiting below the Omphalos Chamber for the dignitaries to arrive.]
I read that trauma is genetic
[The camera pans up to the Omphalos Chamber, which is under attack by the Shadow of the Dragon. We focus on the Shadow first as it roars (on the word “trauma”) and bares its teeth, and then we pan to Kerra’s face on “genetic”. She’s terrified—but she’s terrified of what the Shadow means, not that she can’t defeat it.]
Who was the first to hand it down?
[Brief flashes of scenes again. Kerra briefly trying to help her Mother as menders run towards them on “Who”, Kerra-as-Caithe (and Nisha alongside her) watching Wynne’s confession on “first”, Trahearne giving the order to fire on “hand”, and airships falling over Maguuma on “down”.]
Was it my grandpa or his father?
[Kerra, wearing her HoT clothes, standing beside Canach and Caithe to face Mordremoth, the camera fully focusing on him as of the word “grandpa” and leaving them as silhouettes with weapons at his feet.]
You can't ask someone who ain't around
[Kerra running to Trahearne while he’s trapped in Mordremoth’s vines and hanging above the ground, grabbing his hand in hers. On “someone”, the image melts into Kerra holding Caladbolg out in Mordremoth’s mindscape, alone. She’s pointing it at a large seed, and Trahearne’s silhouette is behind her. She’s protecting him. On “ain’t”, Kerra begins to glow purple, and the image fades to brightness and then Mordremoth’s power exploding through the jungle, like the cutscene in canon, implying his death.]
Tell me, what's at the root of all my guilt and anger?
[Again, like before in the first iteration of the chorus, the camera blurs as we zoom down to roots, shifting and intertwining, but this time we can see clearly that they’re growing, too.]
What's in the dirt around the tree?
[Again, we pan through the levels of the Grove to reach the centerpoint with the spiral branches and leaves of the Pale Tree.]
Heartbreak runs in the family
[And again, we have the three sets of images, but they’re slightly different. The Pale Tree is dimmer, clearly wounded and in pain even if the wounds themselves are not visible. The shadow of Faolain looks like the Mordrem version of her, and Caladbolg is shattered. Kerra’s in her HoT outfit now, with nicks in a few of her leaves. She’s not much different physically, but something in her expression makes her look older.]
That's why I'm still running from me.
[And last but not least for repeats, we enter the blank void again, but there are three Kerras this time—sapling-Kerra, Zhaitan-Kerra, and HoT-Kerra. They all start off looking at the camera. On “running”, sapling-Kerra and Zhaitan-Kerra look at HoT-Kerra, and she looks back at them. On “me”, she turns and takes a step away from them.]
[Instrumentals follow, and the steps turn into a full-on run as she crashes into Canach and Nisha’s arms, laughing. Her outfit switches to her LWS3 one as she swings from their arms to Tarir, watching Aurene hatch and pulling her close. Caithe is in that image too, awe and faint affection on her face. As the deeper strings are overrun with lighter notes, a few scenes flicker by—Lazarus awakening, the battle with Caudecus, Balthazar’s reveal. The strings reach a high note as Kerra is shown on the airship to Elona, her clothes changing again to those she wears in PoF. Vlast’s death is shown, a bright light and Balthazar and crystals, followed by Kerra in Kesho and then a flash of her traversing the desert on her raptor. The notes begin to downswing into the bridge as the battle on the mountaintop comes into focus, Kerra fighting Balthazar hand-to-hand with Caladbolg, and on the final few notes, we see him slash down at her where she’s lying, barely breathing, on the ground. There’s darkness, and on the last note, she opens her eyes in the Domain of the Lost. They’re red.]
I wanna be more than a lost little girl
[Spirit-Kerra takes a step forward. She picks her bow up off the ground on “be”, meeting Nenah’s eyes as her guide gestures towards a hill. Glowing blue silhouettes of memories are visible in the distance, but only just barely. On “lost”, we see the full image of Kerra looking towards the hill, determined.]
I'm gonna grow up someday
[The camera shows Kerra climbing the mountain, past various memory images. Some we’ve seen in the video, some we haven’t. In the last image, right on/after the word “someday”, we can see Caladbolg at Kerra’s side.]
Maybe I'll plant another family tree
[Kerra pauses at a memory of her with her partners. It’s not one we’ve seen before, but they’re all smiling at something or someone the memory doesn’t show. Canach’s arm is around Kerra’s waist, Nisha’s is around her shoulder, and she’s holding them both. On “another”, she reaches out as if to touch it but stops just before she does.]
Somewhere far, far away
[Kerra continues and reaches the top of the mountain. The memory there is Aurene, still very much a baby, desperately trying to protect Kerra, and then being wrapped in chains. She looks at the image for a few seconds, blue light giving her face an eerie cast, before grasping Caladbolg’s hilt and nearly leaping down the mountain on “away”.]
[As the music upswings to the final chorus/verse, Kerra bows to the Judge, slashes through the Eater of Souls, and rushes past a very irritated Joko into the portal back to Tyria.]
Far from the root of all my guilt and anger
[The light from the portal fades into a cloudless sky and a vast desert. On “guilt”, the camera pans over to the mountain where Kerra fought Balthazar. Wisps of smoke still come from it, but they’re faint. We can see figures on the mountain, but not well enough to determine features (though if you’ve played PoF you could guess who most of them are).]
Blood in the dirt and on the leaves
[The words describe what we’re seeing. Kerra’s blood is on the sandy dirt of the mountaintop, and it’s splattered in specks on her hair-leaves and face.]
Tell me, what's at the root of all my guilt and anger?
[On “Tell”, Kerra opens her eyes wide. They’re faint purple, as they should be. On “me” she sits up straight, gasping. As the rest of the phrase plays out, we see what she is seeing as her gaze tracks across her friends. Kasmeer, Rytlock…Canach and Nisha. Kasmeer has a tentative but disbelieving smile on her face. Rytlock looks very much like “what the fuck”.]
Am I who I'm supposed to be?
[There’s a beat while Kerra stares at Canach and Nisha and they stare back at her, but on “supposed”, her partners reach their hands out to her. She looks back at them, wide-eyed, like she’s about to cry.]
Heartbreak runs in the family
[On the musical downswing, the image fades into current Kerra in the blank void. Just her, no one else. She’s sitting on the ground, in clothing that’s damaged and burned, with too-bright eyes.]
That's why I'm still running from me.
[There’s six Kerras in total now, in a line as they’ve been in the previous choruses, but all but the first and the last fade into the background on “me”, leaving just sapling-Kerra and PoF-Kerra to stare at each other across the distance of the blank void. Both sitting, both very different. The distance is much larger than a meter.]
Heartbreak runs in the family
[The three picture sets flash, but this time they’re interspersed with Canach and Nisha moving towards Kerra, and they’re different now. On “Heart-”, the image of the Pale Tree is of her with the Menders, giving them a faint smile. On “break”, we see Canach and Nisha taking a step forward. On “runs”, we see Caithe holding a tiny Aurene in her arms, and they both look overjoyed. Trahearne no longer has Caladbolg and his face is scarred to look half-Mordrem, but he’s standing next to Rel, who’s laughing as he kisses the back of Trahearne’s hand. On “the”, we fully fade back to the mountaintop, and Canach and Nisha take another step forward before throwing Kerra into their arms. At the end of this line, we see Kerra crying and holding them tight, with Kas wiping her own tears away and Rytlock starting to laugh with unexpected relief.]
Why am I still running from me?
[Slowly, the image fades back into sapling-Kerra and PoF-Kerra in the void, staring at each other. PoF-Kerra is still crying, but on “me”, she smiles, too.]
[As the final instrumentals play out, both of them stand up. They run toward each other, and they meet in the middle with a tight hug, burying their faces in each other’s shoulder.]
[THE END]

Some more Qin Shen Shen moments translations (Part 14/?)
2020 S2 Reunion Edition 5/?
Link to other translations so far.
Full footage of Qin Shen Shen’s interview with Wen Yu Xin Tian Di. Some parts have already been translated (in part 10/?) and these will be marked, but otherwise, I am just translating the whole thing because the whole thing is a skit.
ZS (to the staff): Do I need to do the clapperboard?
LKQ: *mumbles about something else*
ZS, staring at him: We’re starting the interview.
LKQ: Oh. Then I can’t do this wrong/Then I can’t say this. (T/N: Sorry, can’t hear very well which one he means)
ZS (to the staff): Do I need to do the clapperboard? *opens his arms to do the motion, but the interviewer stops him*
Interviewer: No need, no need.
ZS sits properly again.
LKQ, grabbing the microphone to look at the placard on it: What is this for? (ZS: It’s Wen Yu Xin Tian Di. Alright.)
I will be putting the rest under a cut because it’s LONG.
Interviewer: Ok, so the group named Qin Shen Shen has finally reunited. Let’s start by saying hi to the viewers of Wen Yu Xin Tian Di.
(The next part has been translated in part 10/? ---- 0:19 to 1:00 in the vid. The questions concerned how they felt after reuniting and QSS replied that it was like nothing had changed)
Interviewer: Then, in the past months, have you been watching what the other’s been doing?
LKQ: Sure, one time or two. *quietly starts to laugh*
ZS, chortling: What does it mean, one time or two?
LKQ: I mean, messaging (each other). (ZS, understanding: Ah, ahh...) We did, we did, we did... (ZS: Yes, of course we contacted each other) Because recently...not recently-- this entire past year, a lot of things happened all around the world. (ZS: Yes) Whether in Hong Kong, or in the mainland...So, many times, we’d... check how the other’s doing.
(The next part is translated in part 10/? ---- 1:23 to 1:42 in the vid.)
Interviewer: Then, have the two of you been checking out the 2nd season of “Wo Men De Ge”?
Both: Of course!
LKQ: A show with such a high rate of viewership...you got to watch at least a little....There’s a 25 years old newcomer in there.
ZS, laughing: Aiya......he formed a new *whispers* Zuo Lin You Li now. *giggles* Can the mic pick this up? *whispers closer to the mic* Zuo Lin You Li.
(T/N: Alan Tam aka Tan Yong Lin keeps saying he’s 25 even though he’s like...70. He and Li Keqin are friends and they used to form a duo called “Zuo Lin You Li”, meaning, literally, “Lin on the left, Li on the right” So Zhou Shen’s comment is in reference to how Alan Tam joked that the Alan Tam/Li Jian group on S2 is the new “Zuo Lin You Li”).
Interviewer: Is there any performance that left a deep impression?
ZS, looking at LKQ: There are quite a few!
LKQ, nodding: Yeah, quite a few groups are really good.
ZS: Yeah, and all their arrangements are really great. Especially-- (with LKQ: Shi Tou!)
LKQ: Yeah, Shi Tou. I really like Shi Tou’s group. (ZS, talking at the same time: Shi Tou’s arrangements are *thumbs up* As expected, he’s Shi Tou) Whoa, the arrangements he does *appreciative sound*. That...that one recently... “Wang Qing Shui”. (ZS: Oh! Right, right, right.) It’s very good. Really, very good. And then...there’s also...that newcomer I was talking about just now -- the *using quotation marks with his fingers* “NEW ZUO LIN YOU LI”...
ZS, whispering again: Zuo Lin You Li.
LKQ: ....is not bad either. *giggles*
ZS: Is it just “not bad”...? ...Which “Zuo Lin You Li” do you prefer? *accidentally hits himself in the face with the mic and lets out a surprised shout, before holding his cheek* I really can’t talk nonsense after all! ;;;
LKQ, belatedly but with an abrupt reaction: What do you mean “which” Zuo Lin You Li????! There’s only one Zuo Lin You Li!!
ZS: ...I was wrong. That’s why I got hit by the mic just now. (LKQ: The other is a cover, a cover! *laughs*) Come now, this question should be asked by the interviewer. Three, two, one...
Interviewer: Then...teacher Keqin, do you feel like your position is being threatened?
ZS: Beating this much around the bush? Ask him in a more direct way. Three, two, one.
LKQ: Mm. One more time, one more time, one more time.
The interviewer actually doesn’t add anything, so LKQ replies:
LKQ: Uh, aiyo *closes his eyes to think* First of all, it’s completely different. I think.......two people........Actually, I talked about it with the School Director (Alan Tam’s nickname) on the phone many times. (ZS: Oh really!) He keeps saying “eh, how about the 3 of us perform once?”
ZS: What would that be called? “Zuo Lin You... Li Li”?
LKQ: “Zuo Lin Er Li” (T/N: literally, “Left Lin, Two Li”).
ZS: Oh... “Zuo Li Er Li”.
LKQ: Because it’s two “Li”s.
ZS: ... Is it not because you’re too “Er”? (T/N: the same “Er”, as in “two”, is also a term used to say that someone is silly / not very bright /a bit dense, if you apply it to describe a person. Not sure I am pinpointing the nuance correctly in English. Anyways, ZS’s face as soon as he says that:)
LKQ: .... *shrugs* It doesn’t matter. I think, in any case, music is about having more different collaborations with people. (ZS: Okay. *giggles*) Mm. I think so. *nods* Next time.
ZS (to the camera): Everyone can look forward to “Zuo Lin Er Li.” (LKQ: *laughs* Ok)
Interviewer: This time you’re singing two songs, one is “Tokyo Love Story”, the other is “Under Mount Fuji”. Can you tell everyone why you chose these two songs?
ZS: Well, first off, “Under Mount Fuji” is because I strongly insisted on it. (LKQ agrees) And I insisted on us singing the Cantonese version. Because I really like this song’s lyrics in Cantonese. It’s really, just...Because usually, when us people who don’t speak Cantonese listen to Cantonese songs, we’ll often look up the lyrics and be moved by them. And “Under Mount Fuji” is one of those songs. So I think, if I can sing with teacher Keqin, we must definitely sing this one. *smiles and puts hand over mouth* I keep on coming here to realise dreams.
LKQ: What he said just now, I never heard it before. (ZS: But it’s true!) I know! And...when he told me we should sing this song, I told him “actually, a few years back, I sang it-- (ZS: --on that show where he showed his mouth) ... *LKQ tries not to laugh* I actually sang it, is that ok-- (ZS, instantly pointing at the camera: Eh! Everyone look it up on the net, you’ll see how precise and accurate what I said is. Because his outfit and styling on that show is simply... “showing the mouth”.)
The styling at issue:
ZS giggles, while LKQ looks away and licks his lips.
LKQ, finally continuing: And then he told me that what we’d sing would be a version sung with harmonisation. That a version sung by two people is different. So I said “Ok lah, ok lah. Last time, I sang in Cantonese, this time I can sing it in Mandarin.” In the end, it’s still Cantonese.
ZS: Yes, because this, this, this *sighs* I just like it...
LKQ, interrupting (to the camera): It’s easier for me!!!!! OK.
Interviewer (to LKQ): Then, do you think his (ZS) Cantonese has improved?
LKQ: *thinks* (ZS laughs and puts the mic closer to his mouth) He doesn’t speak a lot.
ZS: *snorts* SINGING-WISE.
LKQ: Singing... It’s similar. (ZS opens wide eyes at him) It’s similar to my Mandarin!
ZS, shaking head: Oh that... (LKQ: Do you think I improved?) It’s way better than your Mandarin! (LKQ: Oh, really? I can’t tell at all!)
Both laugh.
LKQ: Okay lah~ (to the camera) His Cantonese is really okay.
ZS: As for teacher Keqin, what I didn’t know was that his Mandarin isn’t bad to the extent that...wait no. *bursts out laughing along with LKQ* (LKQ: It...it didn’t regress!) It’s not THAAAAT bad. Yeah, it didn’t regress too much. (LKQ: Not too much, ok) *motions with hand* A teeny bit. A bit. A teeny weeny bit. (LKQ tries to imitate the first way of saying ‘a tiny bit’ i.e. yi diu diu)
LKQ: There’s a second song: Tokyo Love Story.
ZS: Tokyo Love Story. Should be a song that’s part of many people’s memories.
LKQ: *motions towards different corners of the ceiling* Yeah. Many people. Many people’s memory (ZS follows his hands with his eyes, going ???) I actually didn’t watch that drama. It’s not even part of my era. (ZS: I didn’t watch that drama either but that song, I did hear it once or twice) Ohhh. It’s a nice song.
ZS: Yes, it’s a nice song. It counts as a challenge, actually.
LKQ: Yes, it’s a challenge. Because there’s a part in Japanese.
ZS, leaning towards LKQ but speaking into the mic: This time...this time teacher Keqin will sing in Japanese.
LKQ: Japanese is of course easy for you.
ZS: It’s okay, it’s not that “easy” either. But...(to the camera) teacher Keqin singing in Japanese is really cute.
LKQ holds onto the table and breathes in deeply.
Interviewer: How is it cute?
ZS: Mm, you’ll just know when you hear it. It’s just very cute. Super cute. Maybe it’s just... *giggles*
LKQ: I tell you...when things are being described with the word “cute”.....you need to go back and seriously re-examine yourself. (ZS, horrified: Haaaahhh?!) *bursts out laughing*
ZS, still horrified: People often tell me I’m very cute!! *holds chest*
LKQ: Hey! People always tell me “Keqin, your dancing is very cute”! (ZS: People tell me “Zhou Shen, you’re very cute as a person”!!) ..... Have you ever heard anyone say that Aaron Kwok’s dancing is “cute”? *looks at him meaningfully*
ZS, staring: .................... I don’t want to film this anymore.
LKQ: *giggles*
ZS, again in sudden horror: HAH?! (LKQ: Mm *nods*) ..............*calms down* I want to be serious. (LKQ: Mm.) In the future, when people tell me I’m cute, I’ll know what they mean...Okay.
LKQ: It means you have “room for improvement”.
ZS, at the same time (to the interviewer): Teacher, am I cute?
Interviewer: Super cute.
ZS pulls a horrified face.
ZS (to the interviewer): You haven’t been listening at all to our conversation, have you??? (to LKQ) Did you see? He just said I’m super cute -- you talk with him. *pushes the mic into LKQ’s hands and pretends to leave*
LKQ: *laughs* Come back, come back. (ZS comes back and sits) He said you have “room for improvement”. (ZS: Oomph!) It’s still good. Still good. You’re already very good (ZS, in a sharp squawking voice while pointing at LKQ: You’re defending him???) You’re already very good! Okay, okay.
Interviewer: Are there any obstacles to singing in Japanese?
LKQ: Whoa! *points at ZS* Well there definitely aren’t any obstacles for him, but for me... (ZS: Why aren’t there obstacles for me? There are!) I never sang in Japanese, and....
ZS re-adjusts the grasp he has on the mic, which makes it jump at little and causes LKQ to think he wants him to hold it. LKQ reaches out for it, but ZS backs off:
ZS, reassuring: It’s okay! It just fell a bit. (LKQ: Oh, oh, ok.) *makes the mic jump again to tease LKQ*
LKQ: I was in confinement, so I had a lot of time. (ZS makes the mic jump again) So I just practiced a lot. Also, my wife understand a little bit of Japanese. (ZS, genuinely surprised: Oooh!) Yeah, so I asked her everyday for advice. (ZS: Oooooh!) ...Yeah. So! If I don’t sing well, it’s not my problem. It’s hers.
ZS: My God. I’ve definitely learned that way of answering questions. (LKQ: It’s because she didn’t teach me well) *laughs* As expected, you can learn a lot from senior singers. (LKQ just sways impishly)
Interviewer: Then, Zhou Shen, why don’t you have any problems with Japanese? (ZS, instantly: NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS)
LKQ bursts out laughing.
Interviewer: In the future, will you fulfil the netizens’ wish of seeing more of your interactions and more of your collaborations?
ZS: ? We have quite a lot of interactions? ... Maybe not on Weibo. It’s still okay, it’s not to the extent that we don’t interact at all.
LKQ: Do you need a bit more?
ZS: How so? Do we have to tag each other daily on Weibo? *laughs* That’s too tiring, each time I post on Weibo, I reply to the first 20 comments.
LKQ: Yeah, each morning after playing ball...ah! You can’t get up in the mornings.
ZS: Yeah...so...in the mornings don’t look for me.
LKQ: Your morning is my afternoon. (ZS: In the mornings, I’m not available) Yeah, after playing ball...
ZS: Ah! We should sing that song: *sings* “Your nighttime is my daytime~" -- you don’t know this song.
LKQ: If you sing “Like Daytime Fails to Understand the Night’s Darkness” (a song by Na Ying), then I know.
ZS, singing that song: You’ll never understand my sadness...!
LKQ, imitating, but exaggerating ZS’ hand movement: You’ll never UNderstand... UNDerstand!
ZS: Eh. Na Jie. You saw this right? This is what teacher Keqin said. *laughs*
#zhou shen#li keqin#qin shen shen#wo men de ge#wmdg2#so I guess we WONT see more of their interactions and collaborations then#lmao#the whole part about being told that youre cute is just me yelling internally at LKQ 'WRONG ANSWER WRONG ANSWER'#qss trans#the amount of times these two talk over each other#...#watched s2e11 and it was pretty nice but Jesus I am missing these two already

Dreaming of the Perfect Tan Summer Sportcoat
I don’t know what it is about a tan summer suit or sportcoat, but even when I was a teenager I liked how it looked. One of the first suits my parents bought for me when I was old enough to be part of the buying process was a shade of tan (though in a gabardine wool or something). And looking back, I think I’ve bought, worn and sold around 10 different tan jackets—all looking for the perfect one. Unfortunately the fashion cycle that makes certain color hues popular have just not been on my side this past decade. Usually there’s something about the color of the tan that turns me off—sometimes it’s too yellow, sometimes it’s too beige. Sometimes the fabric isn’t great or the style details aren’t to my liking. I think I’ve explored most of the different variations that you can in this realm. Read on for an overview of those, and at the end are links to the long list of great looking tan sport coats and suits this season from my favorite retailers.
Cotton khaki twill
The easiest to ones to find are unstructured and made in cotton twill fabric like you’d find on chinos. Ralph Lauren, Brooks Brothers, J.Crew all make them. In fact two of the first ones I bought were cotton jackets like this. They can be a slightly more dressed up alternative to a lightweight jacket, but as a warm-weather fabric, the dense twill is not your friend. That said, since they exist on the casual end, they’re easy to throw on and look good with jeans, and even just a t-shirt underneath.
A J.Crew khaki jacket, Obidos, Portugal, 2010
Cotton suiting
Cotton suiting is also a route I explored, and in fact that was my very first foray into this realm. In 2008 I bought a cotton sateen stretch suit from Express, which I wore for a few years, including at my university graduation. Today, I’d avoid the sheen of something like that and go for Drake’s in cotton drill, which is another twill. It’s not going to keep you very cool in the hottest, most humid temps, but on the flip side it can be worn in the cold months and still look good. Drake’s creative director Michael Hill wears their cotton drill suits, and favors them because they gain so much character after lots of wear, much like a pair of raw jeans do. Other brands like Brooks Brothers, Southwick, Hickey Freeman, and Samuelsohn make tan cotton suits, too, in poplin. But of course, I prefer the style and design of the European makers.

Pure linen
Linen is the natural summer fabric choice for something like this, for those who embrace the wrinkles it brings. Heavier Irish linen has a better drape than lightweight linen like most Italian mills make, but almost defeats the purpose of linen if your intent is to have something that wears cool in the heat. Either way, a broken in wrinkled tan linen sportcoat is an awesome thing. Worn with pale blue shirt and white or off-white trousers, you can’t go wrong. I’ve never owned a pure linen jacket myself, though I almost pulled the trigger on one last season from Spier & Mackay in a light brown glen plaid fabric.
Spier & Mackay light brown linen jacket I tried but returned, 2020
Linen blends
I have, however, owned one in a linen blend, which is probably the best way to go. Wool-silk-linen is a fairly typical blend of fabrics that helps even out the wrinkle of the linen fibers while also adding visual texture all its own. One such sportcoat I had that I felt was just about the perfect color was from PoLo Ralph Lauren (I ultimately sold it because I preferred the design and styling of other makers). There’s also just a plain wool-linen, like the gorgeous and perfect Sartoria Carrara jacket at No Man Walks Alone made in a Marling & Evans cloth from last year.
Linen-blend Polo Ralph Lauren tan jacket, Southern California 2014
The most recent tan jacket I owned looked like a linen blend but was in fact something different: hemp and wool. After buying and reselling time after time and feeling neurotic about it, a few years ago I just decided to buy something and accept it. I wore it a few years but ultimately, the beige color just wasn’t my favorite. Actually I owned two different hemp jackets over the years; I’d owned then sold an earlier, chunkier fabric that was much more “greige” and was 100% hemp, which I was dissatisfied with the length of back in 2015.
Chunky hemp Eidos jacket, 2015
Finer-weave hemp-wool blend Eidos jacket, 2018
This season’s outstanding crop of tan jackets and suits
This season it’s like every shop I normally buy from has a tan jacket in a beautiful, just-about-right color. When it rains, it pours! Where were all these 5 years ago?!
That previously mentioned No Man Walks Alone x Carrara jacket is the top choice right now (though it’s sold out in nearly every size at this point).
My new favorite entry-level tailoring shop Natalino has a pure linen jacket in what they call “rope” that looks very appealing in the studio photos.
Drake’s is also carrying pure linen suit separates in a warm shade of tan that feels just right.
The other stand-by’s for entry-level Suitsupply and Spier & Mackay typically do something in an attractive shade of tan or light brown each year, this year being no exception. Spier’s is a linen-wool blend jacket in a lighter tan called “sand.” Suitsupply’s best offering is a light tan in an unstructured model.
The Armoury has a wonderful linen herringbone jacket (albeit in their ventless Model 12).
They also have an all-silk hopsack cloth tan jacket in their Model 3 that looks really great.
Anglo-Italian has a slightly darker tan linen herringbone in their excellent single breasted model, as well as a khaki suit.
Polo Ralph Lauren has a 3-piece suit separate in plain cotton stretch, and a jacket in a bizarro stretch fabric combo that nonetheless looks pretty good.
How about you? Does the tan summer sportcoat hold such a powerful sway over you as it does me? Let me know in the comments below! And which of the ones I linked is your favorite?
(Help support this site! If you buy stuff through my links, your clicks and purchases earn me a commission from many of the retailers I feature, and it helps me sustain this site—as well as my menswear habit ;-) Thanks!)
If you’re just getting into tailored menswear and want a single helpful guide to building a trend-proof wardrobe, buy my eBook. It’s only $5 and covers wardrobe essentials for any guy who wants to look cool, feel cool and make a good impression. Formatted for your phone or computer/iPad so it’s not annoying to read, and it’s full of pretty pictures, not just boring prose. Buy it here.
Eidos wool solaro suit jacket I tried on in a shop and was desperately tempted by, 2017
Honey brown Eidos jacket in a super lightweight wool/silk/linen. The color of this jacket was a mistake (the factory mixed up which fabric the coats were supposed to be made in). I might’ve bought it, but my size sold out and the next size up, pictured, was just too big. 2017
Eidos beige with teal overcheck jacket in wool/silk/linen. Eidos always tended greige with their beige/tans, and I just never loved it. I sold this later. 2017
Catch and release D’Avenza jacket in a cotton blend of some kind I tried on via eBay.
This Polo Ralph Lauren wool/silk/linen jacket is probably the ideal color; I sold it only because I was starting to ramp up Italian jackets from Eidos. 2014
Totally unstructured Brooks Brothers tan canvas jacket that fit terribly in the shoulders. 2013

9 Romance Animes you should watch
Who doesn’t know the feeling when you have just finished a bunch of Shounen animes filled with action or maybe some sad movie you simply cannot get over with that easily,
and all of a sudden the thought comes up, “ah it’s about time to watch some romance again.”
For those of you who are searching for an anime to satisfy your maiden hearts, here are 9 romance animes you should probably watch when you are craving for those little candies in your life!
Kaguya love is war
Let’s start with a different kind of romance anime: Kaguya love is war!.
While the anime as well as the manga had received a lot of recognition and fanbase, there are still a lot of people who only know it for the memes (Fujiwara).
Despite it being another romcom Anime the fact that it’s built up in an interesting and strategic way. It doesn’t feel like a romance anime sometimes and even makes you feel if there is even a hint of that sappy love-story you might be craving.
But I can assure you, that anime will stir all kinds of emotions going from sad and tragic backstories that might let you shed a tear to laughter where you have to repeat one scene or another.
Next to the variety of characters that all have flaws, flaws and… even more flaws despite their good image at school, which makes them much more relatable and twisted that you might feel, finally not another perfect protag who gets all the girls/boys.
Because on both sides the mind games are on a high stack, yes mind games that’s the cue because Kaguya love is war is not a simple love story that plays in the most important years of highschool.
It’s a game of who will give in first, who weakens to succumb to their own feelings and confess to the other person, with all kinds of tricks and traps to get their ways.
Let’s not forget about external factors like other characters who put the whole strategy planned ahead to no avail and the funny ways of ridiculing some typical anime cliches.
With a lot of romance, psychology, humor and a hint of drama watching Kaguya love is war will be your out-of-the-ordinary romance anime that you surely don’t want to miss out.
Tonari no kaibutsu-kun
Tonari no kaibutsu-kun is an anime which might not be as known and especially the manga who was even better didn’t get as much recognition.
It’s not a new-generation anime but still one you might want to watch for a change of pace.
Another synonym for the anime is my little monster matching the male part of the main cast.
The two main characters are not your usual shy girl and popular guy, but a hard-working emotionless highschool girl with no friends due to the fact that she doesn’t care at all about her social life and enjoys studying to secure a big job later on.
On the other hand, we have the boy who is not shown at the beginning since he was suspended from the get-go getting into fights and being feared by others yet turns out to be a little bit socially-inept and misunderstood by those around him.
Due to a coincidence and some misunderstandings those two collide and it’s not like you think a super cute shoujo-anime moment, not at all rather the potrayment of social anxiety on the boy’s side and being dragged into a mess on the girl’s side.
To not tell you too much, the interesting thing about this anime is actually not the pairing (which of course is too but) the development of each character, even the side characters.
Because in this series everyone gets their deserved screen time and character development, showing big problems highschool girls and boys alike tend to have around their ages and the social stigma around f.e your typical popular girl or the sporty gets along with everyone guy from the class next door.
If you already watched this series, but haven't read the manga yet I can only recommend you to do so, the stories of each character are told in depth there and it goes beyond the anime revealing interesting facts and arcs that were not shown in the anime.
Kimi Ni Todoke
If you are a slow-burn romance fan like me, then Kimi Ni Todoke might be your next series to watch.
The title means “From me to you”, depicting the life of a female highschooler who gets misunderstood frequently by her peers as she looks like Sadako from the horror movie “The Ring”. As she is actually a very kind and optimistic soul her classmates and the people around her get too scared to even talk to her and start rumors that she is able to curse others.
While the story goes on the girl starts to develop more and more, getting to know much more feelings and experiences through her classmates and the guy she admires.
It’s a lighthearted cute story with a lot of relatable issues that some of you might already have overcome or in midst of it.
Like the title says, the story focuses much more on the depiction of thoughts and feelings, how different the thoughts one person holds and it can or cannot reach another. Showing us the many sides of communication and trying to understand other people not by only relying on only what one thinks is the way to communicate but also adapt to the way others try to communicate, f.e shy characters who cannot always get their thoughts across.
It also revolves around how one perceives other people they have never engaged with and the main role of rumors and prejudices taking place in our society as well.
For some people this series may be a bit too long for a romance anime, having two seasons and a total of twenty-four episodes, but it’s worthwhile if you are interested in a more pure kind of romance that establishes slowly and step by step.
Akkun to Kanojo
Sometimes for a change of pace seeking something easy and quick to watch might help you to sweep that small moment of romance into your life.
Akkun to Kanojo is a short series consisting of 25 Episodes in total but each episode is 3 to 4 minutes long if you cut the opening out it’s even shorter.
Still the story that is told might make you smile from time to time, as you see the romance between a male tsundere and a cute childhood friend unfold.
The concept of the male being the tsundere is really funny and has a little twist as most animes, especially romance animes usually depict the woman/girl as a tsundere type of character in that cast.
The pure love the male part actually bears for the female one is very cute yet a bit frustrating at the same time just like he does feel when seen from his perspective.
Which makes it even cuter is that the female part knows him very well as she doesn’t really get bothered by his tsundere traits and just plays them off not minding him even insulting her since she knows he doesn’t mean it like that.
The guy on the other hand blames himself and even tells himself he cannot get near to such a pure and beautiful being, whenever she leaves right afterward.
A funny romance comedy that skips the drama and fills the day with smiles and cuteness.
Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun
Monthly Girls Nozaki-kun, one of the anime that makes you wonder which shipping you like the most but at the end leaves you behind since the romance aspect is always overshadowed by comedy.
And that is not a bad thing.
While the manga goes past the story told in the anime and even has some more romantic moments as well as crucial realizations, the anime gives the viewer a lot of content when it comes to diverse characters, funny moments, frustrating interruptions and even more.
At some points a lot of misunderstandings come up which I personally found so frustrating and hoped to finally get resolved, yet at the same time they had their own charm in pushing the story into another direction.
It’s a slice of life anime in the end which makes the story not too flashy, but the flashy characters compensate with the fact.
If you are searching for a romance anime where the comedy genre is heavily emphasized then this might be your next choice, since the anime is much more for laughter and enjoying the flow of character interactions and relationships than the actual romance as the focus point.
Honobono log
Another short series anime with only 12 Episodes this time and they are less than two minutes long. Still it’s a refreshing depiction of the many ways of love going from fighting couples to a heartbroken girl and a family.
The interesting style of art, the way how sounds and music are used, and the vibe in general just puts you at ease and let’s you enjoy the story with a light heart.
Especially after a hard day watching this short series feels like a wonderful way to slowly get into your deserved relaxation mood.
Ouran Highschool Host club
A classical one that most of you probably already watched and if not, then this is one of the animes you should really add to your list.
Ouran highschool host club could be viewed as one of the older animes that just rushes your mind back into a nostalgic mood, and the original story behind it still influences a lot of people outside.
It’s about a girl who dresses as a boy, not to be admitted or because she feels that way, no because she doesn’t care at all how she looks and how people perceive her making others mistake her for a boy.
She does not really intentionally make people view her that way, and events of coincidences caused her to get the final blow as she destroys a vase and is forced to join the host club of her school to pay it off.
Of course the leader of the club thinks she is a boy until he realizes the Fe before the male part is very present but he was too dense to realize it.
A story with a lot of character development, building relationships, finding yourself and many other important topics starts from here on.
The many characters that represent the host club is what makes the series so charming and with the female lead not being your typical female protag as well.
As she is a very independent, cold and goal-oriented character who doesn’t care about romance at all yet has a natural charisma of her own.
A slow-paced romance anime with a lot of stories and derives from your usual storyline, a must watch for those of you who haven’t yet.
Kaichou wa Maid-sama
Another classic to add on your list with a feisty female lead and a funny teasing male lead who doesn’t seem to care for anything at all, beside teasing the student council president who is the female lead.
The student council president is known for being strict, not standing boys and doesn’t fear to speak her mind when she sees things going wrong at school, actively taking part that the school rules are being followed.
But her school is mostly filled with boys and undisciplined ones on top of that making her being feared for chewing each of them out with no remorse or hesitation.
There is a little problem though, when the handsome and cool male lead suddenly finds out that she is part-timing as a maid in a maid-cafe after school to support her family financially. And he doesn’t simply tell her secret, no it gets worse.
He visits her frequently, keeping the secret for himself and threatening her into hanging out with him or talking to him, even forcing her to be his maid at work.
An interesting development of storyline and plot, with two people coming from different backgrounds and getting to know each other's real sides as they move forward towards a complex relationship.
Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii
What is the best way to find love for an otaku? Fall in love with another otaku.
This romance comedy anime takes place in the world of work where the characters are all already older and mature than the usual highschool love setting.
As the female-lead switches workplaces in order to hide the fact she is a yaoi-fangirl and her secret passion for anime, she meets her handsome school friend again who is a video-game otaku.
Both of them go out for drinks and make fun of their situations being both different kinds of otakus, the sudden purpose of trying to date comes up and so a weird start of a relationship between two otakus takes place.
Additionally a lot of characters join the cast with different kinds of love stories of their own having one couple that constantly fights and doesn’t look like one at all, as well as side characters with their insecurities.
The everyday life of an otaku couple starts and we follow their story into the twists and fun of being in a relationship, as well as the insecurities and concerns that come with it.
A series for a different kind of romance that makes you wonder how different couples can be and the importance of accepting your true self.
Did you already watch any of this series?
Or do you think there is another must watch romance anime?
Drop it in the comments!
Well then let me now return to my lonely tea,
forever single Makii

listen... i’ve been a fan of winx club since i was five years old (nearly 10 years now). it was my obsession for six years straight. i wrote about it. i read about it. i had the backpacks and posters and taped recordings on my VCR. and yes, while some of the things they did in the reboot i wasn’t a huge fan of (no flora, tecna, and how musa was not the correct race) i still think fate: the winx saga is super good. why? well, here you go.
i was scrolling through the tag, because i wanted to reblog gifsets, and i see just a bunch of hate for it, and here’s what i saw.
1.) its too dark and mysterious.
-yeah, lemme tell you something. i’m a teenager. i know teenage girls and how they all react and what shows they will or will not watch (20 year olds, i promise you, you don’t know, please don’t act like you do) i can guarantee you that 95% of the teenagers i know would not watch a reboot of a CHILDRENS CARTOON where it’s... well kiddish. they weren’t aiming to do something like how they do in the scooby doo movies, where they all have the same colors and outfits, and say ‘ah darn’ because that doesn’t appeal to their target audience, teenagers. it would be made a laughing stock of, and thats not just embarrassing to the fans, but to all the people who worked on it. its not riverdale, and nowhere near close. ashamed to admit i’ve seen 3 ssns riverdale and that was just shit from the start that had no plot what so ever and if it did i though it was stupid.
2.) there was no tecna
-very valid. no complaints here. i completely agree. where’s my queen?
3.) no flora
-i also agree with this one. again, where’s my queen? but i do like how they incorporated terra, and i just hope that we’ll be able to see some of flora in season 2. but i think what they were trying to do here is that, they needed diversity in who they cast, and that includes weight. you wanna know the kind of negative outpour that would’ve come out if flora wasn’t this perfectly skinny girl with long legs and shiny brown hair? oh yeah, people would’ve been pissed.
4.) the relationship between stella and bloom
-i thought that what they did here was clever. rather than having diaspro be Sky’s ex, they chose Stella, but threw in some of the Diaspro qualities in there (the jealousy leading the disastrous acts). Now, again, coming from a teenage girl, watching a show about teenage girls, for teenagers... girls are catty. i hate to say that the stereotypes are true, but they are. you really wanna think that stella would be cool with bloom and sky flirting with each other when her and sky were kinda-sorta-but-not-really-but-also-yes-really-together? as much as i love winx club, we all need to admit that the plots were a bit... dense. which they were supposed to be. BECAUSE IT WAS A CHILDRENS TV SHOW. a show needs drama, and that includes internal drama, and man vs man drama. The issues between bloom and stella actually led to a lot of personal growth, and you can see that as the episodes go on. also, not all best friends are best friends at first. i’m excited to (hopefully) see them grow closer in season two, but the fact of the matter is is that not everyone immediately clicks with someone. and the competition aspect i saw being posted around? guys, its a tv show with pretty girls and a cute guy, there needs to be a bit of a cliche thrown in there.
5.) musa wasn’t asian.
-this is another one i agree with. i looked at the screen and was like.... ummmm that’s not right. i don’t think anything more needs to be said, because i do love elisha in the role, but it was just not correctly cast.
now, onto what i do love:
-the inclusion of the LGBTQIA. now, it’s a struggle with Dane, and its painted in a negative light, but the overall fact of the matter is that he’s struggling. And the show made sure to show that he was struggling.
-BOTH MALE AND FEMALE FAIRIES AND SPECIALISTS. yes!!!! do you know how happy this made me!!! so!!! freaking!!! happy!!! GETTING RID OF THE GENDER BIAS YES PLEASE!!!!!
-they weren’t long legged, stick think, big boobed girls in skimpy outfits. I love the og winx girls more than anything, but they weren’t how people looked. THESE WERE REAL PEOPLE. THEY SHOWED ETHNIC FEATURES, MOLES, CURVES, AND SO MUCH MORE. and!!!! they were all beautiful!!!
-the casting of abbey cowen as Bloom. I’m sorry, this is the most spot on casting i’ve ever seen in television history. they literally brought what i always imagined bloom to look like to life and i literally gasped when i saw her for the first time. (also, like... amazing job on Danny Griffin as Sky. Literally couldn’t have been more spot one)
-it was mature. these were real teenagers, they swore, they smoked, they were real. they weren’t like how they were in the original winx, and thats really good, because no teenager behaves the way the winx do lol.
-the overall set and effects was immaculate.
-beatrix filling in for the trix? that was so cool and i thought the word play was so clever.
-plot twistssssss ooooooo
just my little take. the og winx will forever and always be superior, but saying that it was below dirt seems a bit harsh haha
