I've ranted a whole lot about the importance of physical media in the past. I love physical media. I have a CD and vinyl collection of stuff from my favorite bands, and am currently getting back into reading and found I vastly prefer physical books over both ebooks and audiobooks. I got the entire DVD box of ATLA last year just so that I can watch it whenever I like.

But it took me until today to realize that the reason why is because of how badly all these digital streaming service-platforms have affected me.

Like, I found art from a webcomic a while ago that I thought looked really interesting, but have been putting off reading the thing for MONTHS. I couldn't quite put my finger on why until I found out yesterday that there are printed, physical copies for sale of the entire webcomic itself in book format. And despite absolutely insane shipping costs, I could at some point buy it, and keep it.

And now I finally started reading it, and I'm loving it.

Turns out, I would rather put myself through sickening, nauseating FOMO than risk the piece of media getting taken off the platform it's available on in the middle of me reading/watching it.

part of the reason he was so hesitant to get charlie a meeting with heaven, wasn't just that he was scared for her, but because he was scared of talking to heaven again cuz of that anxiety ^

He knows he's been flubbing his words in addition to missing what people are saying, and he's over compensating hard

As an angel, his default is a Lover. He loved humanity. He loves his wife. He loves his daughter. He will do ANYTHING for the ones he loves, anything. *grabs you by your shirt* ANYTHING like pretty sure it's to an extremely unhealthy degree

I think maybe a huge part of his depression is justly because he's a lover at heart, and he's been living for thousands of years surrounded by the worst of humanity which shattered his ability to love them as he once did. It's not just disappointment and betrayal, it's a loss of a huge part of your identity. So now there's just this great big hole there that's he's desperately trying to fill in with things to love but uhhh his love for charlie and for ducks isn't enough, and he's trying to overcompensate SO HARD

(this one might actually be canon) because he's a lover, this means he's not naturally a violent person. It takes SO MUCH poking and prodding to get him to actually outright attack someone. Niffty literally scaled him like a tree and he just :\ Alastor was pushing all the buttons and Lucifer just toyed around with him for the most part (granted, Mimzy came in right when Alastor was about to get humbled HARD). Lucifer didn't even raise a finger against Adam until he stupidly tried attacking Charlie literally right in front of him

Maybe it's the shitty mental health and thousands of years of suppression, maybe it's cuz hell changed him, but he really enjoyed going ham on Adam. I think it was cathartic as hell for him. He probably had a lot of pent up emotions that he was just wailing out onto Adam

Lilith once tasked Lucifer of keeping an eye on young Charlie while she went out, and he thought it was totally an okay thing to teach an 8 year old how to summon fireworks. Lilith tells him to stick to the trapeze game...

Lucifer and Sera have an intense history and know each other very well. Neither of them like each other

I can't explain it but, Lucifer and Emily have never met, and while this is more of an Emily headcanon, she cannot recognize him on sight. If they ever were to meet, he'd assume she knows who he is, and she doesn't and he'd have to introduce himself and she'd be so HYPE instead of scared and full of questions for him. He'd probably like her

tops men, bottoms with women, granted it seems so far his preference is for women (but I enjoy all the lucifer ships, ngl)

Keekee used to be his pet and he gave her to Charlie when she asked for the "family building" (the hotel)

Disclaimer: I have favorite episodes that come from every single season on this list, including 7a. For example, even though Season 6 is low on the list, the God Complex, Almost People/Rebel Flesh, and Impossible Astronaut are some of my favorite of the show. I do really love the Power of Three. These are based on season arc/average feeling per episode/rewatchability on a subjective level.

Alright, Angel's Take Manhatten over.

Overall, it was... fine. I liked some parts!

The Amy/Rory suicide pact almost made the episode worth it because 1. Rory telling Amy to push his was insane and 2. Amy deciding they both have to die then was also insane.

The last minute fakeout was annoying but if you didn't know there was going to be a hiatus, and you only knew this was episode 5, that TOTALLY would get you.

Otherwise its whatever. It's about as annoying as Doomsday. Which is to say I didn't really like Doomsday, which I think isn't a popular opinion?

But writing a companion leaving is hard. I haven't liked any of them, particularly. I think Martha's was probably my favourite in terms of not being mad/disappointed, and I think Donna's was my favourite in terms of "this fucks the Doctor up forever" (and also he's a hypocrite and a terrible person (affectionate x10 this is a compliment), I'm sorry Doc you don't do that to someone who is begging you to stop)

And OF COURSE the final choice that Amy makes in her entire run is "will she choose Rory or the Doctor". My least favourite running plotline. It's more justified in this episode than the other ones I've been mad at, but I really would have liked if any of Amy's choices were like... about herself.

Everytime Amy makes a choice, it's about Rory or the Doctor. And you can say that about most companions, but the focus on it specifically as a love triangle thing because of Rory makes it more egregious in my eyes. Like her worth is tied to them, nd without them she'd be nothing.

I miss s5 when I thought they'd go anywhere with that.

The only thing I’ll say about hazbin hotel is that the pacing from what I’ve seen is absolutely horrendous. It never takes a moment to slow down, it’s trying to throw everything at you at once and expecting you to follow along.

Why is the audience supposed to care about these characters when we’re barely given time to know them? If you were just a random person tuning in without any prior knowledge of the pilot or anything, you’d be lost.
