when you fell asleep in a library, having overworked yourself physically and mentally due to slaving over some mind-numbingly dull work, you really didn’t expect there to be any consequences.

however, waking up to find the bookcase right in front of you glowing with a certain.. inviting (?) orange aura was a moment you’d never be able to forget. 

you, obviously, walk towards the bookcase and reach a hand towards one of the books right in the middle. 

a whoosh. and a thump.

gasp- some sort of a wind lifts you up?? you’re floating in air?!?!

and then! there’s some sort of a .. hovering screen in front of you? it reads the following message : 

“otome unlocked : welcome to sealook high! you, the transfer student, must navigate through various trials and tribulations of a new school .. and maybe even find love..?

explore a whole new world where you can meet new people and do fun extracurriculars but oh, definitely remember to stay up to date with your class work!

play the game today and enjoy the perfect high school romance~ <3”

an otome game-? is this a hologram?? is someone playing some kind of a prank on you??

honestly though.. this seems a bit too real to be just chalked up to a joke.. could you maybe still be dreaming?

as if on cue, the hovering screen somehow senses your hesitation. the words disappear from the screen and are instead replaced with a single question : 

"start?"

so? will you?

well, you are bored enough with real life and it’s not like you’ve never fantasized about a “mysterious portal in a library” so.. might as well take the chance right? what’s the worse that could happen?

the hovering screen seems .. pleased! wait .. can hovering screens even feel emotions? you’re still confused.

but before you can debate the semantics of whether or not they are capable of human feelings, the ground moves beneath your feet.

quite literally.

with a very eloquent “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA WTF SKJSKJDSKDKJDSK” you fall into the chasm..

bracing yourself for the fall by thinking of all the times you wished this fate upon all those people who tried to push their work onto you and take all your credit doesn’t work because the onyl coherent thought your brain can conjure up is something along the lines of “whatthefuckwhatthefuckwhatthefuck”

but thankfully, the (extremely) long fall ends with you being dumped onto a .. really comfortable bed. you definitely did not expect that.

before you can look around and take in the decor of room, a shrill sound rings from your side. a phone; the contact name reads.. “DO NOT ANSWER !!!!!”

you’re totally going to answer. what better way to start off what you can only assume is either a really long fever dream or an actual otome game into which you’ve somehow been transported than to pick up a call which sounds as ominous as this! :)
