Golden Sun 2, but it's super HD

A one week project I was working on because Golden Sun 2 is one of my favorite RPGs of all time.

Overpainting the screenshot and giving the graphics updates here and there was actually great practice, especially seeing all the crazy colorramps going on in the background. If I find the time I wanna make a little recap to describe the process, if people are interested. I had a lot of fun for sure :)

Aaand here is Cayden as a significantly overpainted DD2 character creator screenshot. He is Very Pink (too pink I mean) on my phone, but he looked ok on my tablet, so I hope it's just my phone.

i'm posting this here because i was just working on rebelle and that post came to mind. the tool doesn't fucking work if you use rebelle

the tool doesn't work if you use liquify. the tool doesn't work if you work with mosaiac filters. the tool doesn't work if you're a frequent overpainter. the tool doesn't work if your art app crashes and you have to work with the recovered file. it's even flimsy with working with screenshots vs working with actual saved files

it works under specific cisrcumstances, and even then, you'd be able to notice whether someone is using ai or not by literally just looking at it. rather than using a tool that can give you a million false negatives

i don't really like how they posed the tool as an "ai identifier" and never mention it fails, it fails often, and it fails on things that artists normally do

Due to my lack of PC and the fact that I am not satisfied with the option in the normal character creation I had to improvise. But it kind of fits the lore of my oc and I am just glad she finally has a face.

All the information that are marked as Update are connected to the events after Phantom Liberty and my fanfiction.

I made a V as close as possible to how I imagined her. I took a Screenshot and did a paint over on it. The results is this kind of facial composite drawing. Since she keeps a pretty low profile when traveling the gov/FIA would have a hard time knowing how she really looks and most of the information on her are assumptions of respondents. To underline the theme of secret investigation on her I tried to make some paparazzi-like shots of her what´s pretty hard, but it's enough for this little introduction.

I have some inspo for her knife aswell. Since it‘s such an essential part of her and Kurt’s lore together I just want to mention it here. I will do a design of it ..someday. She will have something extra fancy for herself. Will be one of the next steps in the creation process.

If you like to know more about the gurl feel free to ask. I have a lot of ideas and not enough time/brainspace to write it all down at once. But I want to show my progress. So you get that half-backed stuff all the time. A dilemma. I’ll do a full backstory post about her as soon I have settled on all the details. On this blog we work with a lot of WIP over a long time.

found out from a tweet about the character creator in dragon's dogma II for making ocs and wowowo i like it so far!! helped a lot with trying to visualize my oc, Rhys, in a more realistic manner

it's pretty in-depth with customization. however, i will say there are some downsides-- such as you can't really fine-tune every little feature. ex: the eyes (or at least provide various eye shape options to scroll through that don't require having to change the entire base head for it).

i did also have to fight the settings a bit to get Rhys's skin complexion and tone to go together, but the bottom two pictures were the best i could do. even then, they still looked pretty light when i previewed them. (much darker tones do exist in this creator tho!! it was just tough to pull off Rhys's skin exactly for this one)

i did some editting and overpainting on the og screenshot to make it reflect their appearance more accurately, which is what you see at the top
